  • I’m going to have to say Legion on this one. Against good players who stay injured and loop well, maybe not so much. Against the rank 15s I get because of matchmaking? Heck yeah! If you’re a good M1 killer (not that hard to be!) then they’ll most likely be afraid of you and spend most of their time healing whilst I’m getting downs, regressing gens, farming them for bloodpoints with Feral Frenzy. It’s an all around good time. Amazing at getting iridescent emblems too!

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

@Kai6864 Don't start all that. Clown has very good pressure. It's just popular opinion to sheep that he's weak. I play Clown and have learned techniques and styles of play with him that makes him very scary to go against. Just because a killer requires a different mentality towards chase, doesn't mean they are weak. In comparison within tier lists, of course when you stack them all up with each other then obviously one killer will be lower down. It does not reflect their strength by comparison. I love Clown, he is very fun and I find him to be strong. All this talk of buffing him/reworking him is naive opinions of people who haven't learned his true play potential

I main clown dude. He doesn’t have gen pressure full stop. Excellent chase power but awful at defending gens (not including perks). It’s not that he’s weak it’s just that he has no defences- a pure glass cannon, much like Spirit but Spirit has mobility and minimal gen pressure with her power, she’s more like a ceramic cannon. At the start of the game, that’s 4 people on gens, maybe one could get done with the current state of toolboxes. Even if you chase people for let’s say optimally 10 seconds (completely unrealistic but go for it). You require about 90 seconds to kill 3 people. Meaning technically, you can double that (180s) which is the amount of progress made by everyone. That is more than enough time for all gens to pop. This is purely estimation of course as it discounts using any toolboxes, slowdown perks, gen speed perks, the time required for the killer to move and hook someone, the time for the survivors to get to gens, the skillchecks achieved, doubling up on gens, the time spent healing (a good team wouldn’t really need to do this however), unhooking, the time spent refilling bottles, the time spent actually finding the survivors as well as the time spent kicking pallets, gens and patrolling the area. Not even mentioning how a 10 second chase would be nearly impossible against a team of actually competent players. This time is enough for the survivors to complete all the gens for any killer just clown does it all much worse than other killers. Not saying you can’t 4K with 5 gems but you have no hope against a good team with a clown. Ps clown doesn’t have “true potential” his skill ceiling is so low I hit my head on it without even trying. He is a basic M1 killer with the ability to hinder people, effect their vision and force medium vaults. All you really have to learn is accuracy with the bottles but that can’t really be useful in a jungle gym or pallet gym when the pallet has been thrown. As stated above, it effects chase time which doesn’t stop gen progress.

  • I’m absolutely in love with Piggy. Getting survivors to boop my snoot amidst the gore and bloodshed is the most satisfying thing ever to exist.

    I can name a few

    Killer

Rapid Fire Clown (feather addon with nemesis and play with your food)

Wraithcar (the speed addons and play with your food)

You should be worried (piggie with play with your food and you just crouch around all the game it’s really fun)

Michael “Myers” Jackson (make them scream! Infectious, iron maiden, rabbit addon and infinite t3.

^^ can be done with tons of other killers and fun addons = nurse’s scream addon, Doctor, Oni’s fam crest, etc)

Vault God Myers (Bamboozle, infinite t3, fire up, brutal strength)

overall play with your food is a fun killer perk

    survivor

Dont touch my friend (protect a random survivor at all costs, botany, breakout, borrowed and mom)

living styptic (autodidact, botany, well make it, resilience)

Go away! (Red herring, diversion, fixated, sprint burst) do gens, in peace!

Just played your piggie one and it was surprisingly hilarious! I followed them around and they booped the snoot in return

Well, it's pretty simple. Just don't touch his stuff.

They really wanted my totems, 5 gens the whole game because they kept trying to get my totems, pesky things.

    Pebble: more noise

AMN: so you can pick up pallets after you drop them for noise

QnQ: hop in a locker and then back out for extra n o i s e

Dance With Me is just for running away from the locker after making noise.

Playing this right now, it seems awesome! Using Ash too because he is as loud as a passing truck.

    Botany Knowledge = "F L O W E R"

    Bamboozle = "Bambizzle"

Devour Soap's a classic, though I take it one step further. If I get a 5 stack, 4 mori game I consider it a Mouthwash Victory.

    This is the stupidest thing but I can’t stop laughing at “F L O W E R”

  • Survivor

Prove Thyself’s bloodpoint gain - I often feel like I run this perk for the bloodpoints and then get accused of being a ‘toxic gen rusher’ when I use it to complete my objective points and then I go pester the killer until the gates are powered.

WGLF - there is no benefit to running this perk gameplay wise so it should just be a passive base kit.

    Killer

Distressing, Thrill of the Hunt and Beast of Prey’s bloodpoint gains - Hunter bloodpoints can actually be achieved in short chases much better and then killers like Plague and Pig can benefit from the Deviousness points.

BBQ&Chilli’s bloodpoint gain - I feel compelled to run this perk on every killer for the bloodpoints, the aura readings good don’t get me wrong yet I’d rather try some different builds and still get rewarded then juicy bloodpoints.

    Yes very soon, lul!

We should open a pot and throw money in it how many months it will take! I am totally confident that this is top priority stuff for them and along with this they will fix all the bugs which plague so many killer powers! Yes totally soon!

Optimism is key my friend! I totally get what you’re saying however, here’s to hoping!

If you watched Otzdarva’s killer changes video he suggested the spirit flickers briefly while in her phase walk to her current location a couple times. I really like this idea, it’s creepy and gives information but skilled spirit players can mind game it.

Thanks for suggesting that video! I’ve just watched it and I think all his points were honestly really good! It adds a depth of skill to the spirit and that’s far better than her current state.

I mean, yeah, I'm not saying dont have hope, but, this "random sound bug" thing has been happening for almost 2 years every other patch. I wouldnt expect too much.

I always hope, never expect for this exact reason. Love the devs but sometimes it’s like they don’t play test the builds themselves. The terror radius bug after the Ghostface release was absolutely horrifying.

  • @I_am_Negan said:

    Don't hang around pallets

Don't run back at her if you're not sure if she phased

If shes chasing you keep on eye on her to see when she is phasing

    Walk don't run

She really is not that hard to counter it's a 50/50 guessing game on both sides

Those are some neat tips! I’ll keep em in mind! It’s just my issue was with how it’s all up to chance and it’s not really a ‘skilful’ killer if you use her to camp pallets and wait for the survivor to come to you. If they don’t, phase after them.

  • @thefallenloser said:

Sound bug doesn't happen on PS4 from as far as I can tell.

Also you can SEE when Spirit is phasing now for some reason lol. Her entire body shimmers which is weird but also how it should be.

Really‽ I’ve never noticed this! Also, yeah the sound bug happens on PS4, it also happens while you’re injured rather than dying too so free iron will for everybody! Except I hardly ever get it as survivor.

"No doubt will be patched soon".

Many times the devs have proved my optimism wrong but if I don’t have faith in the game I just might drop it.

That's great! I still play her with sound issues and she remains strong.

I hope the sound gets fixed along with the release of Chapter 15- silent slugs are pretty damn annoying as any killer

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

You survivors are ######### spoiled man. That's the purpose of Spirit. She's a complete guessing game. Why do you think she didn't have a vaulting animation? To leave you guessing if she vaulted or phasing.

You don't wanna run Iron Will just to counter her? Killers didn't want to run old ruin just to slow down gens. She doesn't require much skill? Same thing could be said about survivor in general.

Sorry to clap back, it's just I enjoy going against strong/OP killers, mainly because I get a thrill out being outplayed/outplaying a strong killer

I get that but not everyone shares in your interests. The point of the post was not to hone in on my inability to go against spirit but the fact that now playing as her is now a guessing game. I wouldn’t really say “sitting still and waiting for a survivor to come to you” is outplaying either, that’s like a survivor running towards a killer getting downed and then DSing the killer. Where’s the skill in that? (the skill check notwithstanding in this regard). Let’s also for instance put a survivor on a pallet gym, who is just standing there. The spirit has to choose a side, as does the survivor. If one of them gets it wrong it’s not a “damn, I’ve been outplayed” moment, it’s more of “welp, guess I’ve gotta choose better next time!”

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1119870#Comment_1119870

What makes you think it’ll be patched soon? They’ve actually had two “fix bug patches,” since it started and it hasn’t been addressed.

I have faith in the devs, third’s the charm.

    @YaiPa said:

well, nothing. The entire guessing game meta is still strong. At least they nerfed prayer beads and wakizashi.

since sounds have been broken for 2 months now, nobody plays spirit.

Spirit’s basically a hot spot at the moment because of the archives I’m guessing- at least for me it is.

    @DeathsCrimsonMaiden said:

    Run Spine Chill ffs.

It is the biggest give away as to whether or not she is phasing, since when she is phasing, she will still activate spine chill, while her husk doesn't. Spine chill is a good perk in general, but imo is a better to counter to Spirit than Iron Will.

As stated in my reply, I don’t want to have to run a single perk to try and counter one issue. I’m fine in any other game without spine chill. PLUS, Spine Chill activates in a cone, if the spirit is looking at you before she phases and then she phases in your direction, Spine Chill is going to still be lit up.

  • Really easy way I deal with Freddy is memory. It wastes a lot a time to prep it but it is so good! Continuously waking yourself up can get long and tedious especially if the clock is over the other end of a map. Essentially, I remember where Freddy placed dream pallets and snares and then create unique pathing so I can avoid said traps. It’s difficult, particularly in dead zones where there isn’t much to go by except that one pallet that may or not be fake. So for instance, instead of rushing shack, I’d go around the windowless wall to avoid snares and continue looping him until I can successfully waste shack pallet! With dream pallets, all ya need to do is remember where the real ones are!

  • @Clevite said:

What changed is she is deaf now. You can't hear survivors even if they don't have Iron Will. Played with her the other day and thought all four had it and it was only 2. Also with the sound bug as is, can't hear a survivor that has been slugged. I had one on hook, go back to pick up the other one and no cries any where.

Spirit is a top tier killer that doesn't need any more nerfs. The window vault makes her much more loop-able than before. Her add-ons were nerfed. And if you know when to run and when to sneak away you can still lose her.

That’s the thing, the sound bug is completely random though and no doubt will be patched soon. As soon as the bug is fixed I’m willing to bet there will be a few more posts like this, she is still an extremely strong killer but it wouldn’t hurt to have an idea on when she is phasing other than one skin having shards that light up.

You missed the whole point off my post and not once did i say i get scared the point off my post was not about the immersion or the atmosphere of the match but killers being able to give jump scares to survivors, yes some people are harder to scare then other people but the killers in DBD lack the ability to give people jump scares like Jason can in F13.

I'm sure if they gave a killer on DBD 3 of Jason powers a lot off people would be scared off him sense (able to see survivors auras), Shift (able to travel and a very fast pace across the map) and stalk (stops any sounds off Jason i.e heartbeat and location on mini map) i listed what each one did in case people didn't know. Now picture a killer in DBD being able to do those 3 use sense to see where a survivor is than stalk and shift to where they are to grab them with no idea the killer is anywhere near you till they have you. where as now you know the killer is close because you hear a heartbeat or see them which takes away being scared off the killer.

Giving killers Jason’s powers would be a horrible idea (no offence). Firstly, BHVR would be literally ripping off the entire F13. Secondly, Jason’s powers would just not fit in DBD at all- travelling at high speeds across the map would make nurse, Demogorgon, Freddy, even Spirit’s powers ineffective. Being able to reduce terror radius just completely destroys Myers, Ghostface, Wraith, Dark Devotion, Furtive Chase, Insidious, etc. Seeing the auras of all survivors would make lockers ineffective, every survivor aura reading add on (Clown’s tattoo finger, Black incense, Wraith’s spirit blood, Huntress’ concoction, Amanda’s letter, Doctor’s restraint, Myers’ shard addons, Hag’s wreaths, Renjiro’s glove, the list goes on without even mentioning the perks). We don’t need to make DbD a clone of F13, period.

  • The only thing that needs to be nerfed about Billy is his Instasaw addons. Base kit is one of the most balanced powers and is just completely countered by stealth, exhaustion perks, any indoor structure/map and pallets. They’d need to be pretty close, have amazing curve game or have instasaw to get you down in those positions.

  • What... I think you might be bugged? Wraith can totally kick it while cloaked unless I’m having some funky hysteria

  • Nah, you’re being super nice! Most Mori killers I face will smack you seconds after being unhooked and Mori you right then and there. I wouldn’t exactly say it’s toxic but it’s not pleasant either- but neither are keys I suppose.

  • Had a buy a new PS4 controller last month, I don’t really play any controller-taxing games except DBD. My analog stick was broken in the left and right direction because of wiggling and my ‘x’ button stopped working completely. Changed the key binding but I actually want to to play other games.

They could change a lot off things but until they change 1 thing the game won't be scary and that's the killers, no one is scared off them and they are giving survivors no reason to be. Take F13 even after a lot off hours in that i can still scare my friends in it why because off the ability's Jason has it allows you to scare people in it still i.e standing behind a door with stalk on and waiting for someone to open it just to see Jason standing there with no idea i was there i still scare people by doing that.

Most times people get jumped scared by a killer in this game is when it's stealth killer they could change the atmosphere as much as they want but unless the killer is able to scare people there won't be that scare/horror factor in this game.

I’d have to disagree completely with this post- you may be scared but after 500 hours of F13 I’m just sorta desensitised to it. The third person view in both games just completely ruins any immersion I have so it’s simply, for me at least, playing the game not really ‘living’ the gameplay.

  • It’s interesting, I’ll give you that but it would make the game so much more predictable and tunnelling would be rife. “Oh look, it’s a Bill.” - fine to tunnel, don’t slug him. “Oh look, a Billy!” - Likely is going to have Enduring. Personally, I like the whole mix match situation. Monitor and Abuse on Myers is lethal while Save the Best for Last is amazing on Demogorgon.

  • I’d like DbD to be scary. Yet with gore, blood, darkness... it’s not going to help any. Darkness ruins the gameplay, look at the Yamaoka Estate - far too dark to play with Blendettes and any survivor with dark cosmetics. Playability should stand above atmosphere. Gore and blood is cool and all but it is very much present in the game. I don’t know about you but splattering blood on my screen isn’t going to make me scream. The horror aspect gets drained out of all games anyway. Look at Resident Evil 2 Remake or Slender. Once ago, that was scary but you get used to it, numb as @Peanits stated.

  • I’m proud to say I have all the adepts! I’m a huge achievement hunter and I’ve only got Skilled Huntress and Taking One For The Team to go. By far the most ridiculous was plague. I was playing in red rank but they didn’t act like red ranks at all - I 4Kd each time but the third emblem just wouldn’t get it iridescent because they cleansed constantly... it sucked.

  • Cut to Plague using vile purge on the piano

  • I think this would be great but I hope they hold off on the Switch vs PC... poor switch players wouldn’t even have chance.

  • Well maybe it’s a sign? All these characters have parental problems, they’ve distanced themselves from their families, mentally and/or physically or they’re losing their families (Meg for example). This may be a sign of vulnerability and distrust so the Entity may prefer these people lore-wise. In an ideal situation, these people would be scared and not likely to trust the other survivors so quickly.

  • Oh my god... Oni’s achievement being difficult... *Laughs in Adept Plague*.

I will agree the emblem system is a huge hinderance for Adepts. With Plague, a couple fountains destroys one of her emblems, gatekeeper who? I don’t think her vomit causes points for the injury emblem... damn bro. Good luck with the Adept Oni though!

Most killers don't slug except maybe to prevent a hatch escape. And even if they do... there's much better perks and things to deal specifically with slugging (Unbreakable, Tenacity insta heals), and it would be smarter to bring perks that would help prevent a slug in the first place.

I think my buff would make it useful in many more situations.

I do like your buff - it’s very reasonable. However, the whole “most killers don’t slug” is definitely untrue. At red ranks all I see is slugging - it’s efficient, 1 person hooked, 1 slugged means either the remaining survivors have to each get the hooked and slugged or one survivor does both and risks being downed themselves in the process.

  • Well this hit looks fine to me. I think about it like this - the hitbox is a capsule as the devs put it - the running animation makes it look like you’re leaning forward but actually the capsule is the same as if you were standing still. If you picture yourself standing upright in this image, the hatchet would hit pretty nicely. Then after that there’s the whole ‘latency’ issue (someone has already talked about this above ^^)

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1105270#Comment_1105270

Because they broke it. Hatchets phased through people.

What do you mean? I still get that now 😭😭

  • Well I believe some parts of this killer to be much better than the huntress. If you get a hatchet off on someone a good 16m away from you, they’re going to get a speedboost and good survivors aren’t going to stick around. With DSlinger, you can reel em in, damage them AND get a Deep Wound off all while keeping them very close to you. He can’t snipe like Huntress but his reload is much much more efficient.

  • Well I used to be very confused on these maps but I have since learnt they have actual structures! The Game has a set layout (not including tile generation) Lery’s now have rooms that are static, in the same place and Hawkins is pretty easy to manoeuvre IMO as it’s seriously just a bunch of long hallways with some stairs and rooms dotted beside you.

  • I didn’t use it before the lery’s rework. With good totem spots it can be devastating. Disables all aura perks but the real beauty of it is in slugging builds and just hooking people. Many a time people have not been able to see me on the hook as survivor and I have died on first hook... atleast I assumed they couldn’t see me... I couldn’t exactly see them now could I?

  • This issue with this is that I use Discord a lot to voice chat with friends while playing games - these friends don’t actually play dbd with me, they just talk with me while I play. There would be no way to differentiate between people like me and SWF - I’d be getting disqualified for something that isn’t even against the rules. Also the whole detecting microphone use from “ANY” application wouldn’t work out - you’d be disqualified for using voice command systems like Siri and Cortana (is she even still around? Haven’t heard from her lately). You wouldn’t be able to stream the game either as most streamers use apps like OBS which record your well... microphone.

Nice try though! I admire you suggesting ways to help the game but SWF is a huge difficulty without buffing the survivors to SWF level or downright removing it from the game (they’d lose a lot of player base for something like that though so fat chance of that happening.)

  • 56 for me! I play dbd an unhealthy amount so it was evident I’d get this far but i feel much further than the last rift? I had about 8 extra days after finishing the rift last time but now it feels like I’ll be finished by level 3

  • You guys may have to be a bit patient with this topic- wait till it comes out to make judgements like this. With the charge decrease to toolboxes I don’t think many people will be using them to do sabo anymore means you’d likely have to use Saboteur which now has a cool down. Very often, there are many hooks around the killer who can easily get to another one in time. The problem really comes when you meet 4 man SWF, even 3 man might do it. This change makes it so only a max of 3 hooks can be broken with saboteur meaning you’d need 3 people to do it right versus the one person who has 99d all the hooks previously. Sacrifice everyone working on gens to get a quick sabo save- sounds fine and great till it meets ruin or thrilling tremors. Either way people are going to complain, it’s what the dbd community does best- so why not shed some positive light on the situation? As killer, knowing 3 people are off gens isn’t a bad thing.

  • Personally I think legion is in a decent spot. Don’t get me wrong, they’re far from A or even B tier but the art of body blocking with frenzy can be pretty useful if done right. However, the real underestimated power is knowing where the survivors are- I hit someone in frenzy and I can see whoever is around me- no hiding in lockers or head ons coming for me! It’s not gamechanging but one hit is all it takes to know that there are 2 people on a gen close by or someone healing in a corner (I’m looking at you Claudette). I’m an avid Legion main and although I use honestly pretty crippling builds for survivor (Corrupt, Pop, I’m all ears, Thanat + Filthy Blade and Legion Pin) I find it easier to 4K with them than most killers. I also never see people disconnecting or killing themselves on the hook either but that might just be my luck. Truth is, legion isn’t an excellent killer in red ranks but you have to use every possible mind game and legion trick you can pull to make it work; they keep me thinking, help me improve so to speak. They give me time by mending to make decisions that would otherwise have to be split second. Don’t know if it’s a whole different experience for other people against 4 man SWF and whatnot... Never faced one with legion before and I hope there never comes a day where I have to

  • Can you imagine... max lighting on whatever map but against Freddy... “Dream world now causes the blindness effect”

  • Decided ya know, I wanna meme a bit and out came Burger King Myers. Played against a toxic 3 man. I wasn’t expecting to win of course but there was so much teabagging, flashlight clicking (they didn’t actually use their flashlights for saves however) that I attempted to try hard before realising... Burger. King. Myers. It all went south from there

  • Thank you for making this post - was going to make my own. Just spent around 10 minutes with a Infinite Tier 3 Myers with Knock Out and Third Seal just slugging people and waiting for them to bleed out- no one hooked the entire time just get up, back down, get up, etc, even with 3 unbreakables we couldn’t scratch his proxying. It. Was. Hell.
