Your first time playing Killer and you reach Rank 4.
What I see is that the ranking system needs to be made harder so you’re properly matched.
Flashlights and doing gens? How dare they break your Killer rules and try to..
S U R V I V E.
OP said they have been playing killer for a while but it was their first attemp at getting to red ranks. They did not complain about survivors doing the objective. They complained about bming and gens completing quickly. Don't be rude.

PTBs usually end a week before the dlc actually releases.
Its so they have some time to make minor changes in reaction to the PTB feedback.
A dev also said they are considering making the red moss add on part of his base kit

I don't really have video proof that I can post here. But, I do consistently well with Ghostface at red ranks though he is one of the more difficult killers to use. If I'm not in the right mindset then I'll probably lose.

Same reason why any killer would tunnel/camp/bm. They're tilted, want to play that way/enjoy it etc. Or any player of a multiplayer game

Lore streams please!

Dropping Freddy’s pallets doesn’t bother me as much as you’d think. It means that there’s one less Survivor working on gens. If you’re chasing another Survivor, then you'll only have two Survivors at max working on a gen.
Also, it takes almost no time to cast the ability and it doesn't slow freddy down

I tend to forget who was just recently hooked if I'm caught up in the moment. Otherwise I go out my way to not tunnel. Especially if I'm playing Spirit. Though I might slug for pressure.

Since the killer can now take hatch down , it's impossible for survivors to win 1 on 1.. you guys need to fix this since there's no fun on being the last survivor if you know you cant win . at least make the doors take less to open or bring back old hatch where killer couldnt take hatch .. i'm main killer and i think it's quite unfair for survivors
It being "unfair" is exactly the point as you've pretty much lost the game. The EGC is your last chance at escape and meant to be difficult. There have been other threads talking about similar subjects where Peanits himself has responded.

it s not fun at all to die bcs of this kind of stuff unlike looping the killer the best you can and dying eventually cuz you couldnt find any more pallets. Even if i was the last one standing, i would still loop the killer cuz it s not my character to give up so easily when i know i have a chance
What do you not understand about the fact that Ghostface is not the only one who can do this? That it is not a problem? You are seriously overestimating yourself if you think you could have gotten away with the killer right by you.
Here is another example: Wraith can bodyblock someone until the deep wound bar is drained. If anything, that would be worse than what happened to you.
This is old news. Instead of making a salty post and whining you should ask the devs if it's intentional then go from there. There also, clearly, is a language barrier here which leads to further frustration. Your attempting to explain yourself and others misunderstanding you.
This thread should be closed. It's just been pointless arguing.

So I was playing a match on PTB, The game map versus a Ghostface. After i got unhooked with borrowed time and also got a hit, I went into deep wounds. After running to the pallet in the big room with the hole in the corner of it, with the long table pallet to mend myself, the killer came for the chase as he downed the other guy and i was the last one. After like 15 sec or so, he decided to crouch and activate his ability behind the table so i cannot look at him. I simply got downed cause he didnt have a terror radius anymore. Even if i would have started to mend right away or run away from the loop, i think it wouldnt change anything. He could move with his ability on, with my bar still decreasing and i wouldnt be able to look at him while trying to loop. If i would run away to another loop and mend there, the cycle would repeat and i ll end up getting downed bcs of the deep wounds, wont I? I think it s just unfun for the survivor side. Im both killer and surv main, but i play more survivor because of my friends and all...
I have read all the posts and watched the zippyshare video. I understand that your concern is the timer going down near a stealth killer. Even in a chase.
Why is this an issue? If anything, the killer wasted his time by waiting out the timer rather than just hitting you. You had 15 seconds to do something but assumed there was nothing that could have been done.
A better question to ask is if it is intentional for a killer to activate stealth near a deep wounded survivor and have the timer deplete.
-
This is a tough one. If no mither is buffed to reduce injured sounds there would be two perks doing the same thing.

Yes this is true. And that's my point. Weaker killers need to be buffed, but increasing objective time just mindlessly buffs every killer in the game.
Exactly, plus all of the anti gen perks would make it overkill.
-
It's a problem with any killer except those at the top including Freddy and maybe Ghostface (I do pretty well with Ghostface though it takes a ton of effort to pull off).
This is why there a people vying for solo survivor to be buffed so that other killers can be buffed. Spirit and Nurse need balance tweaks regardless to what happens
-
Make it so that she can't bump into survivors while phasing. Also, give her a subtle animation that indicates she has begun phasing.
-
Twice per match as it activates after being unhooked. That is, if you are unhooked before second state.
-
Man, the grind sucks, even for older players
-
Alright, fine, you win. Arguement over. My advice would be to not further perpetuate Spirit having no counterplay beyond guessing. I've posted counters without perks on the first page if you'd care to read. No, they would not only work on bad Spirits. Except the flashlight thing.
I apologize for the afk thing. I had read that elsewhere.

If you don't like that, then that's too bad.
Except that you are complaining rather than discussing your thoughts. That you would rather afk than play against a Spirit. There's no discussion there. There are plenty of other threads complaining about her.

It assigns the obsession at random, so the killer can't guess which one is running DS. After DS is used, that person becomes the obsession.
To add to this, survivor's obsession perks increase the chance of that survivor becoming the obsession but does not guarantee they will be. Especially if another survivor is using one.

Sucks that this thread turned into a hate fest against Spirit.

Idk why you give me advices. Did I complain about spirit being OP and me losing all the time or similar? She's boring to verse. Nothing more or less.
Then why bother posting on a thread about people who do enjoy going against Spirit? There are enough posts complaining about her so go complain elsewhere. If you find her boring then that's your problem. Same to you to @Grim. Go complain somewhere else.
-
Advice on what can be done against a Spirit without perks: She has footstep sounds and disturbs crows when phasing. Both of which are noticeable inside her terror radius. She also has an audio cue while phasing(when outside terror radius). When you hear her phasing or notice her chasing someone else near you then stop repairing a gen, cleansing totems, searching boxes etc or risk getting grabbed.
To add further, if you suspect she's faking her power then run towards a window and slow vault it or flashlight her. If she was phasing SHE will have to guess if you vaulted the window or not. If she is faking it then you are safer near a window rather than a pallet that wasn't thrown down. If she is not phasing and you try to flashlight her she will move or be blinded. Don't move away from a safe spot or walk towards a safe spot to force her to react.
If you're bold enough, Spirit can be pallet stunned mid phase and while she is coming out of phase. You can throw down a pallet early and play around that though it's most effective while she is phasing. Pallet plays force HER to guess which side you are on of you don't fast vault when unnecessary. Start looping her to force her to phase then feign continuing the loop and run somewhere safer. Most effective if you backtrack while avoiding running back the same exact path to avoid running into her or in a completely different direction. Preferably near another window or thrown pallet.
When she messes up she is punished with 110% movement speed while her power slowly recharges. If she chose recharge time addons that would take the place of other possible ones like speed or duration.
In short: Windows and thrown pallets are strong against Spirit. Spirit can't see you nor can survivors see her while she is phasing. Though, both are able to hear eachother.
It is entirely possible to escape vs a good Spirit. It's difficult, as it should be, but possible. Just as it's possible for a good Spirit to do well against good survivors.

Unless you're referring to how buggy his reveal, this post is gonna bother the heck out of me. Everyone keeps acting like spooky boi got nerfed into the ground because:
- They made it so that he can get stunned out of his power (LIKE EVERY OTHER KILLER IN THE GAME)
- Made his reveal area very slightly larger, (it's still about as big as your pinky finger tip on the middle of the screen, calm down its fine. Before you could be kissing him and not reveal him. This was basically a bug fix)
- And remove his ability to stalk survivors who were already stalked to full (You're obviously not being stealthy with the stealth killer if you're extending their timer in a chase. This was also obviously a bug given that there were addons to extend the timer. Why bring an addon that makes it last longer when you can just make it last longer yourself?)
Like honestly. Can someone please explain the hate for the Ghostface changes to me. They're nothing compared to how Pig got gutted or how Self Care became F tier (I miss when survs took 7 years self healing each game instead of doing gens) yet people act like it's the end of the world.
Sorry for the small rant. Been sitting on this for a while and it spikes up every time I see someone complain about him like anything important to his playstyle changed for the worse.
Ghostface is pretty good right now. Difficult to use but fun.

Where does the phrase horse face come from in relation to Laurie? Is it because of how bad she looks in game?

No, @Oshirigami, disconnecting is not what you should do. Play through the game like normal. As you've discovered, mories are not something you will deal with every game.
Disconnecting at any point from the loading screen to the end of the match is bannable. Especially with dedicated servers rolling out as they are changing how punishments are handled
-
Why is there so much of an issue with giving the camped survivor extra blood points for being camped? OP is not asking for anyone to be punished or anything to be nerfed. It should give distraction points.
It was not the survivors choice to get camped so how would it be abused? The killer gets his 1k and the survivor get a few extra points for staying on the hook. The only thing wrong with OP's arguement is survivors dcing for being camped. Dcing shouldn't be a part of this.
What should be argued is survivors should get distraction points for not killing themselves on hook if they are camped.

Remove ebony mories
Remove keys
Lower ds to 40 seconds
Buff Legion, Wraith, Doctor, and Pig
Buff solo survivor
Fix loops such as the Ironworks main building loop (just remove the window or make it a door.... not hard)
-
A lot of the loops are waist high too. Including the other Azarov maps.

Some questions for you guys as i don't understand why you guys find him so awful, I usually do pretty well with him in purple ranks.
What rank do play at?
When do you use his ability?
What do you do after you use his ability ( hitting someone in FF )?
You can do well with anyone in purple ranks. You can smash a swf with Doctor or Wraith. Doesn't mean their kit is good. It still needs adjusting. Legion needs adjusting.

Why not both? Personally, I enjoy Ghostface more but they are both good killers.

Do the "Discipline" add-ons stack? Like if I were to use Discipline- Carter's Notes which increases the madness of his shock attack by 25% with Discipline Class III Which is 20%, will I get a 45% increase?
I'm not concerned with the illusionary red stain effect, just the shock therapy increase
Yes, they do stack. Only the afflictions such as the heartbeat and red stain don't stack.

I used to think she has high skill ceiling until I played her for some time. It turned out I was wrong.
Playing as spirit is very fun, playing against her is not.
Getting a perfect 4k with spirit never made me satisfied. It feels like I am cheating.
She is one of the only 3 killers that stand a chance against 4 very good survivors. She is very strong but only overpowered with certain addons.
Her ability has no reliable counter play. I believe removing her collision while phasing and changing the rarity of prayer beads to ultra rare would be healthier for the game. Other than that, no nerfs are necessary.
"Used to think she has high skill ceiling until I played her for some time." Practice would, in general, make someone better at something. Doesn't mean it lacks skill to use. Moreso, that you gained enough skill for it not feel as difficult.

Had someone dc on me yesterday who said it was because I chose Ghostface... Ghostface.....
-
I' m definitely more excited for Nancy. Maybe even more than the Demogorgon.

If phase collision is removed then perhaps prayer beads can be reworked to allow Spirit to have collision while phasing. I wouldn't mind this change as well as grass moving during phase.

"I had a killer body block into a corner not enough to take the game hostage but enough to make a crow appear above my head and make trying to lose him impossible?" "Not enough to take the game hostage."
"Secondly in that same match the second to last survivor had decided they had had enough and lead the killer to where i was downed to force the game to end denying me a chance to crawl away to find the hatch?" They were downed which means they will bleed out aka not hostage taking

Spirit is boring, guess you're a Spirit main who loves getting rekt by the most boring thing in the game.
Spirit starts chasing you = Stands still
You get to a pallet or window = Stands still
Spirit sees you = Stands still
You breath = Stands still
What a fun and interactive killer
As a Spirit main I've thought of some changes that might balance things out.
Spirit should have an animation for when she is phasing. Such as, her husk gradually becoming more transparent over the duration of her phase before disappearing altogether when her phase ends. How gradual would have to be tested. She also should move grass while phase walking.

In both instances. The first is holding the game hostage, which is bannable. In the second, it sounds like another survivor was working with the killer. Also bannable. File a support ticket here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
