Okay so 1) No it isn't, you can read what is cheating in the EULA and SWF on comms ain't there.

people will bring this up until the issue is solved
-
A lot of people seem to ignore "legal" part of "legal cheating".
SWF with comms is legalized cheating. By all definitions, these are cheating, yet because devs can't do ######### about this, they chose to simply allow using that kind of 3rd party programmes to get unfair advantage. But trust me, if they had a surefire way to make communicating between survivors impossible, they would've done that 4 years ago.
-
It doesn't seem they have even skins prepared for demo. It's just a lame streams with lame celebrities that are made like a big deal.

If you're talking about the achievement I think it can be hained only using those pink addons if Im not wrong
you can kill 4 survivors even with purple addon if you do it correctly

Good tips. You definitely have the best chance of getting it with both pinks, though, to the point where I would do that unless you have no other option. PWYF is really important, though. If you can get three stacks of PWYF and then Mori the obsession you are in great Shape. I actually got this achievement on my first try with this setup.
Never going to get From the Void She Kills though lol
Trail of Torment is also good for shape with these addons, it allows to ambush survivors so they are less likely to hide in lockers.
BTW, done from void she kills when she had 3 blinks as basekit. RN I'd suggest to simply farm it because you can't get a grab even with normal blinks unless survivor allows you to

Because he is not worth it. Powers with cooldown are generally boring and they are twice as boring if they didn't use to have cooldown.

Expect lots without any evidence.
Expectations are not met.
Be disappointed.
Write on the Forums.
Instead of just expecting nothing and maybe get surprised.
Yikes.
Even if you expect nothing, seeing so much build up for a lame stream where people just play ST chapter is disappointing. I would be more hyped if they posted a new demo poster and nothing else.

Did they explicitly said what it was all about? In their blogpost yesterday it is stated that they were going to talk about Demopls near the end, so i assumed they were going to make a reveal and then showcase morr at the event.
If the stream is about lame streamers playing with each other, then there's nothing else there.

I would remove Ethan or whoever is the person thinking that "clown is fine, you just didn't figure him out" and "ooo is fine". I'm sure they are nice guys, but they surely are incompetent in what they are doing rn.

That's all so lame honestly.
Wow, 2 popular people are going to play this game, am I supposed to feel excitement about that? Especially after they hyped this all so much with all these tweets.

You just need to play around it. If you suspect a survivor has spine chill try approaching at an angle not looking directly at them. That way their spine chill doesn't go off. I've noticed a lot of survivors that run spine chill don't look around when on a gen.
should I even explain how ineffective and inconsistent this is?
-
I never get 0 kills if I play none M1 killers bc in that case my personal skill matters more than random generation or survivors don't making fatal mistakes.
If I get 0 kills as m1 killer all I feel is boredom "wow, did you really did 5 gens and used all your 16 second chance perks, countless pallets and windows that inevitably waste too much time for nothing". No fun, nothing, it's just boring. You either sweat or don't play at all and even sweating doesn't guarantee a victory, because if survivors don't make mistakes - it doesn't matter whether you are good or not, you lose.

I hate to be the killjoy here, they confirmed on twitter the stranger things hype was because Gaten Matarazzo is playing dbd soon with Ninja and Jess.
Why would there be all these trademarks though. If it really is just an actor playing the game, it would be sooo dumb.

@MadLordJack said:
Yes. Bring murderbeans to DbD. I will stab survivors with my tongue and walk around with a small version of me on my head.
Wait, what were we talking about? Mini games? Sure, if they have reduced opacity. The last thing we need is forced spine chill, but it would be so much better than the current m1 simulator.
they won't completely overlay your screen and allow to look around.
Although I wouldn't be against making spine chill not working against undetectable with an addition of such minigames, but survivor mains crutching with spine chill would be mad
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Not sure about this. I like how minimal the UI overlay is, don't really want to start to clutter it (IMO if skill checks could be made more physical in terms of how they're displayed that would be great).
The idea of different objectives is always going to be nice, but I'm not sure that method of implementation will be a good fit for DBD.
It would just need a different visuals and be themed to be a part of gens and believe me this'll fit perfectly

THANK YOU!!!!

It refers to the twitch emote if I am not mistaken. But I would be glad if he could get a buff, the recent stats show that he has both a low kill rate and a low pick rate. :(

@indieeden7 said:
One of the biggest gripes that I have with undying is its aura reading feature. That alone makes it hard enough to actually get a hex out of the game combined with the fact that the hex will then just get moved to another totem is just pretty annoying. If the aura reading was removed I feel like fewer people would mind the perk.
But then that would bear the question: What should change with each perk tier?
If you see that killer uses undying, spot a totem you want to clear and do other objectives close to it, then go cleansing once you see killer being too busy to stop you - picking up survivor, being in a chase on the other side of the map, etc etc.

Fog Whisperes promoting toxicity and BM? That´s more of a rhetorical question, really.
I still have my fingers crossed that Otz´ community patch notes will at least bring certain problems to the DEVs attention. We´ll see about that, though.
BTW I think their main purpose is to expose DBD to more people, isn´t it?
I'm not talking about Otz (and it's not Tru3).

Just because it's not commonly used doesn't mean it's not incredibly powerful. Having constant info on the killer's location is incredibly powerful with a team. It's also rarely used by solo players, which likely influences the stats. Try getting a 4k against a coordinated team that constantly knows your location and THEN tell me it's "in a good spot".
Don't forget playing without OP addons and using a killer which is not spirit or nurse.
Oh, and if it's a hag or trapper then it's even better
-
@goatslinger said:
Yes, please focus your attention on a perk that is barely ever used. And screw your stats. This perk is insanely OP. Please ignore how odd it is that the perk is so strong and broken but yet such a small number of people use it.
Also, great job with undying. Ruin/undying has made the game healthy again.
It is rarely used because only SWF can capitalize on that. Taking this perk in solo is basically sentencing yourself to death because killer has no idea whether you are another bunch of sweaty abusers, craving for even slightest advantage or an oblivious solo player.
In any case, whether this perk is taken, nobody is really having fair fun. Killer is either pressing DC button because he already knows what circus this match will be or they make killing this survivor their only goal (and believe me, they will accomplish that goal) or they simply give up on interacting with that survivor. In any case matches against OoO are filled with spite and hate. This is dumb
-
I want m1 killers to have something to do against optimal survivors. Playing fair is lose-lose because you get ######### by second chances in late game. Playing dirty - slugging/camping is easily punished with said second chance perks and you lose gens very fast. It doesn't matter how good are you at killer like ghostface or wraith, if survivors don't make idiotic mistakes you wished to capitalize on, you have zero chance to do anything against them, because gens pop quicker than you catch them.
-
Do gens and don't waste time for trying to wake up.
-
People saying they deserve the hatch deserve it the least
-
@Moundshroud said:
Because Wraith can be tough enough to deal with already? :) He is the FASTEST of the Stealth Killers with his Add-On(s), and a Survivor's best defense is to spot him quick to get the maximum head start.
Lmao, do you really think dealing with wraith is tough? What rank are you?

With all the killers we have it's hard not to compare powers and at this point it'd be pretty difficult to come up with a unique power that couldn't be compared in some way to the other killers.
Like go ahead and try to come up with a power that somehow couldn't be compared to any current killers in someway. There is still the doppleganger power which would be unique but likely awful in practice and that's about all that comes to mind as something completely unique though I'm sure there are a few more.
Flying could be compared to teleporting killers like Freddy, Demo, or Nurse but it's in the air. Fire could just be said to be another range attack power and the list goes on.
Personally, I would like a licenced chapter and I assume it'll be Candyman which will have some kind of bee related thing which could be neat?
Original killer wise I would prefer something fire related. Unique or not I think it'd be cool to light survivors on fire.
Any power could be compared to currently existing if it fulfils similar purpose.
As for "unique mechanics" - power that creates minions, power that locks survivor's camera on killer&makes it 2-3 times harder to look away and forces to break LoS or allow killer to lock his camera on survivor for a few seconds until survivor breaks LoS or few seconds pass so that killer does something to that survivor

like gaining points for "fear" events, like scaring survivors off of gens or gaining points when a survivor misses you with a pallet
No, I'm not talking about points, I can already get ~30-32k every game easily.
I'm talking about an actual reason to hook every survivor repeatedly and let them all play till the end. Right now there are no reasons to do so apart from pathetic pity.
-
I would delete object of obsession and decisive strike, then I'd think of a way of rewarding killers for keeping survivors alive as long as possible so there would be more incentives to play "fair" playstyle.
-
To me counterplay is an ability to do something against something to prevent it.
For example you can prevent being reeled by deathslinger by having an obstacle between you.
Counterplay could be consistent/inconsistent, complete or incomplete.
Consistent/Inconsistent is whether it works 100% of time of doesn't.
Complete/Incomplete is whether the counterplay completely negates something or only partially.
Obviously complete and consistent or vica-versa counterplay is an example of bad balance. It should either be consistent and incomplete or incosistent or complete.
So for example Spirit's counterplay is both inconsistent and incomplete. You can try doing something, but this won't work all the time or make you completely safe from being attacked. I can't say Spirit cannot be counterplayed or she has no counterplay, it just so happens that counterplaying her isn't as efficient as counterplaying other killers as you can do anything, but spirit can always guess or hear your direction and position to attack correctly.
On the other hand we have consistent and complete counterplay. This is pallet looping against M1 killers, implying your mistakes aren't major enough to be punished. No matter how good the killer is, if the survivor is at least on his level, M1 killer WILL waste unacceptable amount of time trying to get that survivor in loops.
-
Killer since survivor is m1 simulator.

His shred isn't a basic attack though, it's a special attack. And that would be bad for the Demo players who run STBFL. I've stopped running it on him but almost everyone runs it because of the obvious synergy. And it's sort of the exact reason why they changed Legion's frenzy to not be a basic attack.
Well I'd only be glad not to have STBFL as a mandatory perk. I'd also be able to get more basic attack synergy, starting from surge and ending with perks like devour hope.
Demo had basic attack on PTB and it was really cool
-
My mentality is simple - do whatever you want, unless it's BMing and don't blame for doing whatever I want.
Sure I can get salty when survivor gets carried by DS in EGC or key, but I'd never say "they are not allowed to use that", since they are using allowed things and it's dev's fault for allowing something like this.
However when some survivor starts perkshaming me or telling that "you're bad bc you need x,y and z to win" then I wouldn't forget to remind them of every single thing they brought or used to still get stomped despite the fact how strong these things are.
-
Well I really hope they have something special prepared for Demogorgon.
-
Although I can agree he is balanced, giving him some QoL would be awesome.
Rat liver basekit, travel to portals from any angle and basic attack on shred would make him significantly better.

There were no free skins in 2020 until they panicked and added free Iridescent Shards as login rewards. BHVR fully expected their playerbase to purchase it all, and the Rift.
Yeah, first day it was just a cashgrab..

I can already hear the dev stream response now:
"Statistics show that players who run this perk have a perfect balance between kills and escapes, so we see no need to make any changes to this perk."
Yeah, who cares about fun, numbers only matter. I guess killers rioting by DCing against OoO will not work like it worked with Legion, since the amount of killers isn't enough to do that.

I'm technically a new player (this is literally my first event played ever) but how were the other events different? I know they weren't as awful as this but I think that besides themed gens, hooks and skins they shoudl add more things like new mechanics or even a gamemode.
2018 event - pustula harversing & 2 free skins & petals actually affecting the game
2019 event - rift putrid serum (kinda meh, but still 2 free skins).
2020 event - nothing interesting. 1 free skin, but how bad this was delivered..

Why give BP to KyF when every perk is unlocked there and you have free addons/item? Doesn't make any sense to me. You can't go midway, if swf on voice com is OP because of free info, 2 people having the advantage is still too much by that reasoning.
I said it before, the random killer is more often than not annoyed of not stomping the opposition, SWF or not, they WILL complain about any unfair advantages they can imagine to compensate for them not getting any better at the game.
If you lose against a strong SWF you will de rank until you get to a pool of players closer to your actual skill level, that's the whole point of the barebone matchmaking the game has.
>If you lose against a strong SWF you will de rank until you get to a pool of players closer to your actual skill level, that's the whole point of the barebone matchmaking the game has.
SWF gives an advantage which the game is not designed around. Losing to survivors with comms doesn't mean you are bad. It means that you lost again cheaters.
I once played ~10 games against the same team (more than 3k hours each, using meta, no offerings) on blood lodge (map used on DbD tournaments due to huge consistency and somewhat balance) where 5 games were with comms and 5 without. When they were playing with comms, I barely won 2 (3k and 4k) and lost 3 others (1k, 0k, 1k) and when they were playing without comms I 3-4k`ed in all of these games (hatch escapes still happened). From game's point of view nothing changed, I just suddenly played worse or better. But we all knew survivors just enabled or disabled the 3rd party programme that gave them unfair advantage.
>that's literally cheating, voice come gives an advantage but as stupid as it is, you can still win against 4 man swf. Speed hack? How is the killer going to catch you? Think before trying to compare anything. I can see where your backward opinion comes from but it doesn't mean that you can compare TEMPERING with the game with communication.
Different grades of cheating, different grades of tempering with the game. But in the end, both voice comms or speedhacking is involving usage of a third party programme to gain advantage the game was not designed around. You can say whatever you want or find any excuses to justify voice comms, but you still are a cheater. Deal with it.
-
Because making exclusives after announcing how they are getting rid of exclusives is very smart idea.
-
Well if they make is so that using dead hard will always include risk (as it OG use intends - react to killer's attack not press in an advance) then it'll be good. But if it becomes something ridiculous like "press e for 1 second of invulnerability to hits" then I'll pass
-

What kind of backward mentality is it to think that SWF = sweaty survivors?
And here I thought I used come to hang out with people and ######### around in game. I should tell my group that picking a hook to die in and leading the killer that didn't get a kill until then to get us while some of us escape is toxic, or that waiting at the exit gate to let the killer hit us one last time for him to get point is toxic and sweaty.
Antagonising the other side of the game only make you look stupid and only echoes well with other blindly frustrated players who can't see reality for what it is =P
Please, more "=p" to show how you don't care or whatever.
Voice comms give direct advantage to survivors and it doesn't matter how do you intend or end up using it. According to your logic "if they aren't sweating, why are you complaining", I can download cheats and ######### around with speedhack and other bullshit like that and that would be fine as long as I don't try to win. I would just happen to be winning, no sweating.
-
@humanbeing1704 said:
ah another one of these threads will probably see one next week seriously why do people keep beating the dead horse that is of coms = cheating
I and other people will keep bringing this issue unless a solution is given or devs directly state that playing in SWF with comms grants no advantage to survivors and playing against SWF is equal to playing against solos, which would make all complaints irrelevant. Second option is more unrealistic than Spirit buff, so we're waiting for compensations for playing against parties sucking fun away or direct buffs/nerfs.
-
Agreed. I was kinda lucky not to spend my shards instantly.
This is just disgusting that BHVR refuses to make a refund for people like you, it is their fault and decision to make 75% discount less in a week after the release of skins, they literally MUST make a refund despite their ostrich policy "we're out of business here"
