Trickster is still the weakest killer in the history of DbD. Just try playing him once, without ultra rares, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Um... Just like with every other dbd map you have to learn it...
Are you seriously comparing RPD with the Coal Tower? Seriously?

Is it a meme or something? I still get hit through pallets.
-
It was a good idea: many quick knives to injure instead of one slow hatchet. But the good idea got BHVRd and implemented as usual: now it's unfair for the killer to miss because of RNG recoil and quick decay of "injury" and unfair to survivors, because they can't dodge those rare knives that actually hit. I guess they were just afraid of Deathgarden's fate and didn't want to add a killer with a proper "shooting" mechanic.

Then, just like others, that said they didn't get the hit as killer, were told, you probably have the higher distance to the server, the worse ping or play on wifi.
Neither of these.

Stop the disinformation, nothing has been removed: I still get hit through pallets.

This problem has actually been better than ever compared to how it used to be. Seems to me like you just don't understand when you're going to get hit through a vault/window based on distance and hitboxes. I've certainly not had this issue, and most of the time I'm surprised I don't get hit. It could also be a you problem if it's such a consistent problem.
There is nothing to understand: if I stun the killer, he cannot be able to hit me. If I stun the killer and simultaneously receive a hit - it just doesn't make any sense: the killer shouldn't be able to hit you while he is stunned. But he is, thanks to the netcode.
The same goes with vault hits: if I'm clearly already on the other side of the wall - that's it, his hit shouldn't reach me. But it does somehow.
-
I heard they fixed those VPN hits through pallets. Just played the game for the first time after the update: nope, they fixed nothing on this end.
-
Oh, did they FINALLY fix VPN killers and made pallet hit validation fair? Finally the game will reward for good connection instead of rewarding for bad?
-
Well, yeah, it still can be abused to bully the killer by jumping in lockers in front of him, since they didn't make lockers deactivate DS for some reason.
-
Imagine they get Alien license. Imagine Hawkins 2.0, but in space. Or The Thing license: Hawkins in Antarctica. The only horror license that won't bring some new indoor hell would be Jason, but he is not coming, as we all know.

Most of these maps aren't fun from survivors perspective either least for me.
That's what I meant. Most of those maps, like Hawkins and MIdwich, are ez win for the Killer and hell for survivors.

Haddonfield needs to be reworked, open doors at top of houses and move gens so players cant watch the stairs.
Gideon, it's an okay map but far too many god pallets for the majority of killers.
Hawking's, actually pretty good. Its loops are different and get stronger once the pallet is down meaning thought need to go into it not "I'm at another safe loop"
Midwhich, its once again not bad. Wish the classroom had a pallet in and maybe another way upstairs from the centre would be great.
RPD, yeah it dont play well. Too big and messes up most killer powers.
Bad ham, strong loops and more in the favour of survivor but not the worst out there, its alright
That's from the killer perspective, but have you tried playing these map as a survivor?
-
@MadLordJack said:
Okay. That doesn't change the fact that it is, due to it's effect size alone, the most survivor-sided map in the game by an enormous margin.
And that's just because of the size and all the limitations that comes with. That's without looking at the fact that it's an indoor map, it's hook spawns are atrocious, and every resource is either god-tier or not worth mentioning.
That map is ######### huge. All survivors have to to is spread out an you cannot do a thing to stop the gens (and by that I primarily mean snowballing) even if they don't run away. There's just too much distance to cover. I've played that map 4-5 times so far and only 2 people have died. One was me getting tombstone pieced by a Myers just as the gates were getting powered, the other was a Claudette that got facecamped in the endgame collapse.
I view that map as the unholy love child of Old Rotten Fields, Haddonfield, and The Game. Sure, it looks pretty, but it's just got so many crazy issues because of it's base design.
Survivor sided? Have you ever tried to find a gen there? Or a totem? People hit second hook stage there because teammates can't find a way to the hook, that's how survivor sided it is.
-
Her power just has a bad hitbox. Hitting someone with puke is a matter of luck and a lot of experience to know how to drag your camera. You have to aim to the left and to the right of the survivor as rapidly as you can for it to register a hit, just jerk your mouse around like crazy and you will eventually get it.

Personally I think they just need to fix sounds. As a dedicated Spirit main I'm not surprised sounds are broken as usual.
Though I am questioning what is the purpose of Stridor now? The perk was designed to counter IW but they made Yang stronger than Yin.
It was broken since zero multiplied by any number should remain zero, and now they finally fixed it. IW is easily countered by using your eyes, by looking for scratchmarks and blood, by predicting. It's easier to counter play than the Spirit, which you can only "predict" (ie. flip a coin) and nothing else.

I guess only RE fans like that map, because "hey, it's just like in the game!". Everyone else hates it, and for a good reason. The fact that it's "just like in that game" does not make it a good map for DbD.
-
Consistently two-three times a weak there are 2-man SWFs of trolls who act like this: whenever one of them dies and I'm left with the other one as the only two survivors, that dead friend tells the living one where I am so that he can lead the killer to me and get the hatch. A lot of times I've seen SWF's who just plainly sandbag teammates the whole game (mostly those are 2-man parties). Whenever they can, they cooperate with the killer and teabag in front of me when I'm dying on hook. And that's just what happens to me, I have no idea how many other victims there have been in my games which were harassed after I died, since I never remain in spectators after death. I guess it's just a SWF thing to be annoying, no good person plays on comms in DbD or something.
-
The game is so well balanced that map offerings are becoming parts of builds now.

Is there any reason why we can't see the Killer's ping in the game?

Ideally they should make it easier for people to mod icons and such. But anything else beyond that:
- Skins
- Game resolution (stretched res)
- Chase music
- colors
- etc.
All should not be able to be done and be bannable if changed. Devs have stated that even chase music is setup in such a way to be part of the game balance, modifying the chase music in any way (even to change it) can give an unfair advantage over players who don't. And don't get me started on skins, purple traps, and stretched res.
Stretched res is not modding, it's completely external to the game. You can jchange resolution of your own screen or GPU output, the game will adjust to it. But yeah, they should make it so that the game can't take any resolution other than 16x9, so that stretch resers will just get black strips by the edges of the screen.
-
Unfortunately, that's part of the game now. Even though it's formally "bannable", not a single soul has ever been banned for sandbagging or cooperating with the killer, and the in-game report system is a placebo. You can fix bodyblocking by removing collision, but how do you fix survivors leading the killer to you in the end-game so that they can have the hatch, for example? Trolling has become an inseparable part of the game now, and you can't do anything with it.

@Shroompy said:
One thing some survivors don't understand is the movement speed curve of a lunge... and this can make it seem like the killer hit you from a farther distance post down than it actually is, let me explain..
The movement speed of a killer gradually increases and decreases during a lunge, its not just instant, this is also true for the end of a lunge, and they still keep that pretty decent burst of speed at the end, and if they hold backwards while doing it they'll go backwards.
You also have instances where a killer can flick really fast in the direction of a survivor and hit them, all the game needs is for the lunge radius and the survivors hitbox to collide even if that means for a split second.
Now you have pallets, getting hit through a pallet isn't all that common if you actually take the time and learn the distances you're able to get away with, unless of course its actually a case of desync.
And you should know this by now but medium vault hitboxes are atrocious, and this I do believe needs to be fixed.
But really, if you blame absolutely EVERY hit from a killer is latency, its not, its you.
Hit through a pallet is when you stun the killer and only AFTER THAT he hits you. It's not the "timings", it's just broken hit validation. It happens because on the killer's side, which is 1 whole second or more too late thanks to his latency, he sees the moment where you haven't dropped the pallet yet, and hits you on his side. The server then takes his client-side hits and confirms them, because "if he sees a hit, the hit is true". Hit validation in shooter games works like this, but in shooters any player can shoot and it works both ways: for you and for the opponent. In DbD, however, only the killer can "shoot", or just hit, and so it happens that hit validation always favors the Killer. And the higher latency the killer has, the closer the survivor to him on his client side (because the killer is chasing the survivor), and the more ridiculous the hits become.
The same happens with all the other hits: the killer sees an old picture, hits the "ghost of the past" of the survivor, and the servers just gladly confirms every hit the Killer's client sends to it.
About vaults: if only I were hit just after medium vaults. I get hit after fast vaults and then running a step or two after that. It's not hitboxes, it's hit validation + high ping on the killer's side. As simple as that.

Dodging a lobby doesn't cancel the trial after it's started, you just get a new killer in the lobby. DCing is not the same as dodging. If you wanted to be "just", you'd talk about killers DCing, but then you already know nobody likes that.
I've already replied to what you just said in the post you are quoting. Once again: survivors just don't have the luxury of seeing who the killer is before the trial starts, so they can't dodge the lobby like killers constantly do. Let the survivors see the killer before the trial, and the frequency of DCing among survivors will drop next to nothing. And if they fix the hit validations and remove the ridiculous hits by vpn killers, and then rework horrible maps like Hawkins and Midwich, I don't think anyone will ever DC again in this game. This is how you solve the DC problem properly, no extra punishments needed.

The thing is the appearance of the killer itself, "Thing" doesnt really have that, since it basically turns into anything and is largely seen has a blob of flesh and deformed limbs.
Basically, he doesnt really have a "true form", we dont know how it really looks like, which would make it hard to put it in the game.
Besides mimicry wouldnt work at all in this game, due to SWF being able to communicate with each other, that would make the power borderline useless since you would get found out right away.
Nothing stops them to implement some "generic" form of a messed up pile of flesh from the movies, it's not like they care about killers' lore too much.
SWFs break a lot of other killers and perks too. Try playing Trapper against a 4-man SWF, for example. SWF is a problem in itself.
-
PH is SSS-tier in chases, so no need to pick more. His power makes loops nonexistent.
-
@Thrax said:
The thing is out because he's a mimic and that is wisely off limits. Jason will have to claw his way from the depths of hell to get in. Chucky would strain believability even for this game.
Why can't they add the mimicking mechanic then? Imagine a killer that can turn into other survivors.
-
The whole "two survivors left with unfinished gens" scenario is broken, it must be reworked completely from the game design perspective. For survivors there is no point in doing gens, since they know it's pointless: they will just be found and killed sooner this way, and 80 seconds is too long for 2 survivors and 3 gens left to camp for the killer. Survivors will wait for the hatch. And the killer will not leave those 3 gens, because it's pointless for him. If both sides play it right, the game can last forever.
-
Whenever I see a bear trap on the ground, I say "Oh, it's the Crapper again, watch out for his crap".

Using that logic it's fair to me to DC after starting a game with 4 toolboxes or medkits as well or a map offering.
You wasting the killers iridescents just by refusing to play the game.
Killers don't need to DC for this, they can just dodge the lobby, which they constantly do and nobody has problems with it for some reason. Let survivors see the killer before the game starts, like he can see the survivors, and 90% of DCs will be no more, since they will just turn into lobby dodging.
It's the same logic here, really:
- "I don't want to play against SWF/keys/flashlights/medkits/toolboxes/dwelfs/P3dettes so I leave and find another lobby" - completely fine and good.
- "I don't want to play against vpn killer/spirit/nurse/doctor/iri addon myers/legion/wraith so I leave and find another lobby" - and everyone loses their minds about it, demanding punishments.
If you punish survivors for DCing, at least be just and consistent enough to punish killers for dodging the lobby as well then.

Yeah ive ran into 5 cheaters this past week. Speed hacks, instant heals so you can never down them. Stuns that last 2 minutes. I usually just dc the moment i realize its a cheater. Which isnt bad right now because of the no penalties. They really need to crack down on the hackers.
Good luck with that when they bring back the DC penalty. As some wise guy here on forums said: "There is no valid reason to DC!"

Try finding all 5 totems without any totem tracking perks sometimes. This RNG works both ways.

- Being found first
- The Killer playing someone they don't like
- The map being a disliked map
- The Killer using perks they don't like
- Being hit first
- Being hooked first
- Too many gens popping before the Killer finds someone
- Being Dead Hard'd
- Being D.Strike'd
- Etc
Your post is yet more blame-dodging and is factually wrong.
Why do you keep copying and pasting this made up list of nonsense? There are not even "getting hit through a pallet", "getting hit through a window" and "getting hit from a mile away" on it, much more valid and actual reasons for DCing.

I guess you mean the hatch hide and seek or something when the killer does not close the hatch and the last survivor opts for stealth or the last to survivor try to out immerse each other.
I meant 2 survivors, sorry.

Ah yes getting hit/downed first/subjectively too fast or the wrong map/killer really ruin the game in the first 30 seconds without seeing how either side plays.
I am a friendly farming killer and still i get DC in the first minute because someone couldn't take going down too fast or does not like the killer I am playing.
How do you counter Myers with endless T3? How do you counter Legion with wallhack and pallet auto-break? How do you counter Wraith with wallhack? When you are matched with those, the game is ruined from the start. DCing won't make it any more ruined.

We've had DC bans for a long time now. The only people screaming to keep it off once the crashes are fixed are the ones who would abuse the <wibblety> out of no DC penalty. They are basically demanding a way to ragequit for free & ruin any game they aren't winning from beginning to end.
People don't ruin the game by DCing. When someone has to DC, even taking that 2-pip and no-BP penalty, it means the game is already ruined by something. People don't DC from a good and interesting game. Ruined game makes people DC, not the other way around.
-
And yeah, the hit validation. People grew so tired of getting hit through pallets and windows that shift+w is the new meta now, no kidding. Just running away is the only thing you can rely on now, since pallets and windows are gambling.
-
About crashes: they have disabled DC penalties because people are crashing too often. That explains the current state of the game. There are bugs which have already lasted for years (like silent dying state) and are still there. And yeah, they still release a new killer every 3 months. Recently they have added RE chapter with Raccoon City PD as a new map, which was disabled for a month because, once again, people were crashing.

What this guy said. He has no mobility so running as far away from gens being done destroys him since he needs to waste the time chasing and downing you then you get free wasted time from dragging him to the opposite side of the map as he slowly walks back to the gens being done.
Both of them have 115% speed, what do you even mean?
-
Since pallets and windows are a lottery with how hitboxes and hit validation work now, there is nothing else left for the survivors to do to survive.

It's the tool of a toddler flipping the table because they're losing. DCers are selfish babies who can't accept losing, so they invent excuses & blame everyone but themselves while they quit the game.
