They should make it so that a survivor can't vault or drop a palled 5 seconds after the dash. This way it can't be abused.

Plague is 115 and her power is decent. Trickster is 110 and his power is a meme.

In other words, only the things you make up for yourself, is that right?
"Automatic system" and "based on number of reports" are not what we made up. Have you even heard what the devs said?
-
The first book has a survivor challenge which requires you to completely finish 4 (FOUR) generators within one game. It also has a trapper challenge, in which you need to catch someone in a trap 6 times within one game. I guess you missed those.
6 pallet stuns within one game and grabs are nearly impossible too.

So, you have details on it? Can you share them? with a source, please?
Devs have said enough on their stream which should rise concern. Either they put it completely wrong and the system will not be actually automatic and will not judge by the number of reports, or the reason for concern is pretty heavy.

Because it's a fun perk that rarely works, and when it does work it's for distance and even then it really isn't that hard to deal with.
Yeah, just every chase is at least 15-30 seconds longer, because when the abuser enters his next chase, DH will already be reactivated. The perk basically gives survivors a third health state, which is always there. You are about to be downed - just press E and be teleported to the next god loop, ez, as if you were hit (which you would be if not for DH) but still had one more health state. And next time you are in a chase after unhook - you have that extra health state again, it's always with you.
-
Giving to killers a perk that does the same thing is a good idea, btw. They should make a perk that allows you to make that Wraith dash at will, by pressing a button whenever you wish. And give it the same cooldown of 40 seconds, for example. I would love to see survivors' faces when they taste their own medicine.
Other second chance perks should also be mirrored for killers, because right now killers have only one second chance perk - NOED, which gets cancelled by SWFs within 5 to 10 seconds. DS, DH, BT and Unbreakable can't be 'canceled' by killers the same way NOED can, on the contrary.

The problem is, the game is broken beyond repair. It has a ton of exploits, abuses, unbalanced and plainly broken mechanics. So people abusing holes in the game's balance seems to most people unfair and toxic intuitively. You know that such concepts as "fair", "unfair", "honest", "dishonest" and the like are never written or defined, they are understood by most intuitively, they are a priori concepts of human mind. So most people just see that abusing second chance perks, loops, flashlights, camping, tunneling, slugging, etc, all this is unfair somehow, even if it's perfectly legal. You don't need a legal definition of "unfair" to see that something is unfair. The game is badly designed, it's broken and unbalanced, so an honest person would except people to understand all these problems and consider them while playing. But some people don't want to be "fair" and "honest", they just want to win, so of course they will abuse anything they can get away with. It's not about "this is part of the game, victory at any price", it's just about being honest and fair. You either are, or you are not. That should be the actual point of discussion.
By the way, did you know that using crossbows and some other weaponry was forbidden in medieval knight tournaments? Just because crossbows were viewed as an unfair weapon, even though they were "just a part of warfare, m8". It's the same here. If the devs can't provide us rules to make the game fair, players will make these rules themselves just for the sake of justice.

I'm playing solo just fine every single day and escaping at least 80% of my matches and pipping almost every single one. This isn't a solo problem.
I only see a genuine tunneler/camping probably every 20 matches, if even that. It's generally just survivors playing badly and making excuses.
I think it depends on your region. I guess people in NA and Western Europe have never even heard of campers and tunnelers because of how high social culture is developed there. Every killer you will get matched with there will be a decent person, and I might assume you will get hatch every time you don't wiggle. While here in Eastern Europe, for example, it's surprising to meet a killer who doesn't camp and tunnel, and "giving the hatch" is not even a thing. All the times I was given hatch at the end of the game was when the Killer was from Germany. I don't want to make any assumptions based on all of this, it's just my experience, and it shows pretty clear that playstyle of a player depends heavily on where he is from. I guess everyone in Eastern European region can make a good guess where are most of campers and tunnelers are from...
-
The problem lies within your mindset, not within the game. 3k is still a victory for the killer, why would you want to go out of your way just to get 4k? You are not entitled for getting 4k every game, the hatch is an intentional random mechanic. If you need those 4k, you have to work for it.
Other than that, the hatch mechanic is indeed bad, but not for the killer. The actual hatch standoff is happening between 2 remaining survivors, if they are not on comms, One of them has to die so that the other may have a chance with the hatch. So either one of them has to sacrifice himself for the other, or they just start ratting each other and selling to the Killer. This is awful and needs to be addressed by BHVR.
-
It would be much better to just give extra BPs and shards for regular logins, like they do in MMOs.
-
I think it's just one of those "pretty good job so far" moments. I don't even remember the last time grab animation worked properly for me. I should've grabbed dozens of survivors on gens, in slow vaults, in unhook animation, yet it works out only in one attempt in a million. All the other times the grab animation just lags through and the survivor happily runs away, while mocking you for your bad luck. If you are lucky, you will just get an M1 attack instead, but only if you are lucky. Just wait until they finally fix this crap. Maybe by 2029 we will see reliable grabs once again, who knows...

Every single troll and sandbagger I've met within the last several weeks was in SWF with their trollish friends. SWF is a curse of this game, nothing good ever comes from there.

Falling from hills and from docks in the swamp works too.

It's still -2 if you depip sometimes for some reason, and I don't even know if it's a bug or some new cryptic mechanic.

Mostly right.
However, it's not SWF sided, it's "good survivor" sided. SWF just simply guarantees you get good survivors.
IE you could even roll the dice in solo queue, happen to good teammates, and the game is still sided in your favor.
Saying a "good killer" is stronger than solo queue is assuming you get unlucky and roll bad teammates which isn't always the case. When people say "survivor sided" they are implying a match of good vs good, which is how you objectively measure balance and where it is objectively in survivors favor.
The main factor here is the skill of your teammates, coms is just an added bonus that throws it even more over the top.
Even with that, SWFs have a huge advantage, which bypasses most of the game's balance and design. SWFs have perks like bond, kindred, better together etc as their base kit. They also nullify killer's perks like Knockout. Other perks, like Adrenaline, DS, Head on, Unbreakable, BT, etc, can be abused in ways unimaginable in soloQ due to coordination in discord. So no, this game is SWF sided: however good solo survivors can be, SWF survivors with the same amount of skill will always be by an order of magnitude better solely due to the comms.

i don’t know.. I don’t like these codes at all. Just give me some rewards for login. I do like the rewards after all, but making it so limited via codes shouldn’t be necessary
Limited codes, no rewards for logins, an actual EMPTY battle-pass for non-payers. Everyone I asked told me that they have never seen a game with a battlepass which is mostly empty. Even the free section always contains something in every cell in every game that has one. But BHVR is always an exception.
-
After being in about a hundred games where closer to the end of the game I was injured and unable to escape or go for unhook just because of it, without any means to heal myself, I think self-care is not such a bad perk for soloQ. I run bond, and it doesn't really help me to find survivors so that they could heal me, because soloQ teammates are either who knows where on the other side of the map, bombing the hooks or just plainly don't heal me (especially if they are console players, I guess there is no option to heal teammates on consoles). And I don't feel like wasting medkits for every game. Self-care is a waste of time only if you play in SWF, but then again, SWF is a different game and all the perks work differently in it. In soloQ, especially after crossplatform multiplayer was implemented, self-care often is a deciding factor between life and death.

8-9gens on big map? Would you increase the number of genre survivor have to do? Other wise you just make it harder for killer to patrol as survivor can put pressure on more gens.
The same argument goes for zombies. If the number of zombies depends on the size of the map, while the total number of gens stays the same, large maps will be disastrous for survivors, since most of the area would be empty of gens but full of zombies. Survivors will have to spend tons of time to find ANY gen, while still being in danger of zombies.
-
Should maps have different numbers of gens?
Small maps 7 gens, big maps 8-9 gens would be good

I'm happy to see a practice mode finally come to PC and consoles as I could always use some practice with this game. My only real gripe so far with it other than some bugs is it doesn't let you pick the killer/survivor you want to practice with. This may become a future addition or implemented when the Resident Evil Chapter officially launches but I just wanted to see if anyone else would want this idea or if it's in the mobile version. Thanks.
You can already kill/survive with bots. Just wait until you get 3 people with globes in their names in your lobby (or 4, if you play killer), and there you have it.
-
If you play with soloQ survivors, they take half an eternity to finish. If you play with SWF, they pop in 15 seconds, starting with the intro animation. So I guess it would be fair to increase gen repair time to at least 120 seconds if the survivors are in SWF. SWF should be a separate mode with separate rules for them.

Wrong, a survivor with bad ping will always get what they think are questionable hits.
I always play with green ping and constantly get those 3-meter hits, especially while vaulting.

Neither worked for me

check your internet. if its not yours its probably the killers internet.
It's always the killer's internet. The higher his ping - the longer the distance he can hit from.
-
How long haven't you played the game? All killers had 3-meter phantom reach as long as I can remember, thanks to broken hitboxes and ridiculous netcode, which gives killers with high ping such huge advantages.

It's pretty stupid that they judge players based on what they play with, si I wouldn't worry too much about their opinion.
Everyone hates those on a system different than theirs lol, it's just console and PC are majority.
🖐🏽By the way, I am probably one console player adding to the grief (not very good, sorry).
The platform itself has nothing to do with this. What matters is the fact that people with globes in their names often play worse than rank 20's without them. And those console players somehow have decent ranks. They do crap like running straight to the killer and standing still in front of him, missing one skillcheck after another, don't heal even if you crouch in front of them, don't let others heal them, go for unhooks in from of the killer while injured, etc. If a rank 20 PC player crouches in the bushed in the corner of the map for the whole game, a rank 10 console player just runs into his own death while screaming YOLO. That's why I love being matched against console players when I play killer. 4 globes almost always equal to 4 easy kills.
-
What exactly would change if we instead said "I hate globe players, they are so bad"? It barely matters whether they play on console or not, all globes have the same properties, at least according to my experience.
Today I've met a "globe gamer" who cooperated with the killer (another "globe gamer", probably his friend), and after only I and he left alive he led the killer to me, teabagged and unhook-spammed me until I died. I've never seen anything like this in my entire experience in DbD. I mean I've seen enough trolls and sandbaggers, but this is something new. This is console tier (or "globe tier", if you wish) trolling or something. After that I don't even know what to think about all these "globe gamers". They seem like a completely different and yet unexplored form of life, to be honest.
-
If the existence of Nurse hasn't made devs think about some other way for survivors to escape the killer, I don't think anything ever will.
-
If the autoban system gets implemented as they say, literally anything will be bannable, since the automatic system will only consider the number of reports.
-
SWFs are the curse of this game. They ruin the game both for killers and solo survivors. All the trolls and sandbaggers I've met within the last weeks were in SWF.
-

Should've been the middle finger instead.
-
Excluding trickster? He is the weakest 110% killer, if not the weakest one in the entire game.
-
If you play long enough as a killer, you eventually get tired of SWFs. Then you either learn to play Nurse/Spirit and sweat for 3000 hours, turn into a facecamping Bubba and mine the salt, letting them taste their own medicine, or give up completely and just go on with your life. I guess a lot of killers were hanging by their sole hope about devs doing at least something with SWF, which has always been the core problem of the game, and when they started realizing the devs don't care and will never change it, they just gave up.
-
I still don't understand the point of DC penalties. Whenever someone wants to leave the game now, he just lets go on the hook. If he gets rescued - he can just run straight towards the killer and try again. If a survivor wants to leave - he will leave. The only situation where you can't do it is when you are being BM'd by the killer in the end of the game, because you can't die on purpose on the ground. So the system prevents people from leaving while they are being BM'd while still letting leavers leave freely.
I myself have been punished by this system about a dozen times, and only once did I actually DC (as the killer). All the other times were because of that stupid bug when you "lose connection" in the middle of the game, even though the game actually continues, but you can't do anything other than DC (and get that penalty). Pretty good job so far.
-
That's actually better for killers, since the less perks there are - the less grind is required to get what you want. By the way, almost all survivor perks are trash. Survivor perk meta is under 8 perks or so, since other perks are only good for memes, while Killer meta includes dozens of good perks for any build you would wish for.
-
Yeah, just like picking "Calm spirit" every game only for those rare occasions you get matched against a Doctor is meta.
-
The game balance goes like this:
- Good Nurse/Spirit stomps any survivors.
- Decent SWF stomp ANY other killer.
- A decent killer stomps any solo survivors.
- Decent solo survivors stomp potato killers.
- Potato killers stomp potato survivors.
You are in the last term right now, still being a potato. If you find friends and start playing with them using discord, you will break the game balance in every possible way and win one game after another, except those rare occasions when you get matched against a good Nurse or Spirit. People complaining about the game being someone-sided just don't tell about the whole picture: the game is actually SWF-sided, not survivor-sided.
-
So they are helping only those who don't need any help, while those still dragging along behind the grindwall are left to themselves. Classic.
-
Lightborn should protect Wraith against burns. It's ridiculous how I have to pick lightborn as Wraith whenever I see a flashlight lobby only to be constantly stunned with them without any room to breathe in spite of that perk. I had to quit playing Wraith altogether on ranks 10+ because of this.

There was a post-game chat a couple weeks ago where "facecamp" was filtered. I couldn't believe it.
It is still filtered, at least it was yesterday. It's funny that "facecamp" is filtered, but "facecamped" and "facecamping" are not. Pretty good [BAD WORD] so far.

Once again, They clearly stated VOLUME of reports is the key. So it won't be possible to grief anyone with this. Four reports isn't going to hit anyone with a ban - but one hundred reports probably will.
Basically, if you aren't a toxic jerk, you have nothing to worry about. If you ARE worried about this announcement? You may want to ask yourself why.
So, I play 25 games as Spirit and get banned for being a "toxic jerk". Got it.
-
If the game is broken, it's only natural to complain about problems, so that devs at least know about them. It's not like the devs ever play the game themselves.
-
It's not a question about balance, it's just a plain bug. Iron Will makes (should make) your noise volume 0, and then it gets processed by Stridor, and that 0 gets multiplied by 1.5. And for some magic reason the literal zero multiplied by something does not equal zero. It just makes no sense. It shows that Stridor has this "undocumented behavior", because it adds volume to zero instead of just multiplying it by a coefficient. It should be fixed, "nerfed" is just the wrong word.
-
If the killer has enormous ping, he can hit you from a mile away due to lag compensation system taken from shooters. That's just how DbD's netcode works.
-
@PureDoctorMain said:
I like to give survivors who genuinely out play me more than once hatch if I can. But I guess thats more of a personal thing.
That's very noble of you, indeed. Most killers do the opposite: if a survivor outplays them or loops for too long, they just camp and tunnel the ######### out of them.
-
Will it ever end? Queue for the killer is quick only during the evening and the night. If you try playing killer at ~15:00 you will see the opposite. It used to take me up to 20 minutes to find a game as Killer during daytime, now I've just given up and only play killer after 21:00.
-
Yeah, except any jungle gym or a main infinite turns him into an M1 killer. Any looper can loop him forever unless he decides to give up and forget about his chainsaw. The only thing he is strong in is punishing survivors for their mistakes, like gathering the whole team in front of him
