It’s a problem that negatively affects Survivors, of course they’ll fix it instantly bro.Satsui said:@AshleyWB said:
I think its obvious its a bug and I assume the devs will probably hot fix it just like they did with the tinkerer bug. It should come a lot sooner than the mid chapter patch. One could only hope................
No need to ‘hope’ when it will happen very soon and very fast. -
I admire your dedication. Why you haven’t decided to cancel and get a refund for this yet is beyond me.

I take it the forum staff have unpinned this post?

Sorry for misunderstanding. -
There were multiple scenarios where I thought the Killer was lag-switching but it actually wasn’t.
I would take a phantom hit and not become injured for half a second, then the Killer would appear next to me after he was running in place or in a consistent direction for a while.
If it was a lag-switch I’d have been teleported to him, not the other way around.
Though I found it sus that that Billy only happened to do it when all gens were done and had been chasing me the entire match.
I’ve seen it happening in PC and PS4, neither of these are lag-switches so much as networking bugs. Because if it was lag, Survivors would be teleported back to where they were when the lag-switch was activated.

Monto made a kobe build with Deliverance and on his first game using it, it didn’t work.
You can look for the video if you want. He and OP aren’t joking about it being bugged. -
Yes, it should.Tru3Lemon said:no
Instead of it punishing no one for yolo saves, it should punish the yolo saver. Not the person being saved and certainly not the Killer.
The person making a stupid save for the sole purpose of farming a few hundred more altruism points should be punished.
A Survivor should become exposed within 8 meters of a hooked Survivor, and for a few seconds afterwards, when within the Terror Radius. Or, the Killer should have no attack cooldown when hitting a Survivor who goes for a save. It makes no sense that the Killer wipes off their weapon while their target pulls someone off the hook because they know they can’t be hit again.
BHVR need to discourage yolo saves, but all they’re doing now is encouraging them and making it impossible to punish. -
Oh I also had three other Killer games of note.
These were my three best or weirdest Killer games. I haven’t had too many weird Survivor games bar floating bear traps in a KYF where Killer isn’t host.
On Rank Reset last month (not most recent, but the one before) I played Nurse and ended up in a game with a 4-man SWF on The Game.
They finished all generators but I got one person in the basement. They were apparently dumb as hell thinking they could get a 4-man escape because they all ran into the basement and straight into my bonesaw, WITHOUT HEALING FIRST.
I go to pick up one. She disconnects. I go to pick up the second, he disconnects. The person on the hook dies but disconnects to deny me of my Sacrifice points.
I just stare at the last one on the ground, who isn’t moving. For five whole seconds, I just stare, and they disconnect.
I nod like crazy, laughing my ass off at my four-man disconnect as the DC-on-hook Survivor is going through the death phase.
Literally just before the last game I had the same thing as Hag, but without NOED. Only one generator was done and the SWF 4-man was too altruistic and didn’t care about crouching to avoid my traps.
Exact same thing as Nurse game, stare at the last person on the ground as I wait for them to disconnect.
The reason I will never forget those last two games is because I was going for my Adept achievements on both Killers. Adept Hag and Adept Nurse.
I actually got both achievements.
The last, I entered a lobby that had four No Mithers.
I saw them all going into the basement, and followed them in. I was confused as hell as they all were doing a crouch-walk conga line around the Shrine with Urban Evasion, then approached and did the same thing to me.
Playing as Clown, did the usual thing and gave ‘em tons of booze, dropping bottles everywhere.
Then they all stood in front of me and disconnected at the exact same time.
After game they explained that they were streaming a derank squad. Not deranking Killers, but deranking themselves, and weirding out Killers with the basement dance every time.
It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen in the game.
Unfortunately I was packing streamers and rare add-ons so didn’t get the chance to use them to the fullest extent.
Crazy ######### happens in the fog sometimes.
-
I played Doc and switched into Treatment Mode.
Every Survivor screams at the same time.
They immediately disconnect and the game ends.

The devs forget to think of a way to bann people when they ported this game, kinda ridiculous eh?Actually it's not the devs fault, they can't ban on sony's platform without their permission. They're currently trying to work out an agreement to be able to ban that way. But unless and until Sony stops being so greedy and proprietary it isn't going to happen.
You're daft man. All they have todo is add it to the game like they did with pc which they said they are working on. Every console game has bans. Quit spreading misinformation on things you are completely ignorant of.
DE with Warframe have bans on their console ports, and some severe bans can completely ban an IP from all platforms.
Why can’t BHVR do it with Dead By Daylight? It can’t be that hard to say “Hey, Sony, let us ban people from our game on your platform when they deserve it, yeh?”
Because it’s BHVR’s game, on Sony’s platform. Why would Sony allow an online game on their platform, but not allow the devs of said game to punish offending players?
Sounds more like BHVR can’t be screwed to do anything about cheaters, hackers, or any other toxic players, on any platform. They hardly do their job when someone reports, bringing forward literal video proof of a hacker in action on PC, why would they care anything about console? -
Man I’ve been throwing these out like crazy this week.

This was the very first time he started streaming on PS4. OchiDO never even told his fan base that he was playing on PS4 until the stream STARTED. Most of them, the young and dumb most likely, seem to still think he’s playing on PC with a controller or something.Might_Oakk said:@Judgement said:

No Prestige, no friends on the platform at the time, nothing. Literally hacked in a purple flashlight on PS4 DBD.Someone watching his dtream gave him a flashlight? Wooooaaaaahhhhhhh
Guess it’s to push another false narrative, how ‘killers are noobs ez dud’ but on console they’re cucked by bad optimisation (I’m talking drops to 15fps and lower) and controller aiming so it’s far easier to juke and 360.
He modifies his save file on PC, every time that he got banned to act as if he was never banned to begin with. He only got caught and HWID banned after showing he has a P3 Clown, Rank 1, with account level 6, because Curtain Call made it significantly easier to catch out save file modders.
There’s nothing to suggest that he didn’t modify his save file on PS4, too. I’ve seen videos and other proof of players hacking in other games like Dark Souls 3, Warframe, and some other games. There’s no logic behind saying that hacking is impossible on console. -

I got around 180k, from my Survivor Pudding and two party streamers.

She should probably get Deviousness consistently, whether she uses her power or not.
Reason why I say this is because mindgames are the function of her power. Sometimes the ultimate mindgame is to not use her power at all, so she should be rewarded Deviousness for landing hits whether she uses her power or not.
The Doctor gets Deviousness when hitting a Survivor after frying them, The Shape gets Deviousness when hitting a Survivor after stalking, especially with the Mirrors, Wraith gets Deviousness for hitting after an uncloak, and so on.
Spirit should get Deviousness for landing hits and chasing, whether she uses her power or not. -
I spent $7 USD (around $10 AUD) on the DLC, so no.
-
A few weeks before rank reset I sent in a ticket to support asking them to derank me a few ranks because I had five games in a row against Survivors who were too skilled and powerful for me to stand a chance. This was when I hit Rank 8-7.
While they ran their metas, I was lacking the perks I needed to beat them. I had no Bamboozle to close loops, no Enduring for stuns, no BBQ for detecting them, etc.
I was going against Survivors who played too well for me to have a chance at winning, who also had excellent perk setups and metas, while I was without what I needed to stand a chance.
The support ticket was closed after their response, being that they ‘cannot edit your Killer/Survivor rank’.
I guess it is understandable though. I wouldn’t be surprised if toxic players and bullies expected to abuse this.
I didn’t touch Killer until Rank-reset, just went over to my Rank 14 Survivor for the next week and a half.
Look, if we were allowed to drop ranks, BHVR might as well remove the ranking system completely because that’ll be the end result. -
But then there’s the matter of WHY someone left the game through the pause menu:CoolAKn said:From what I understand, there is no system in place that can determine why a person DCs (purposeful DC, internet died, game crashed, etc.), so they don't punish people who DC because they cannot prove intent. People do get in trouble if they DC too often.
Surely, it can't be too difficult to code a system where the game can detect when someone presses "Leave Game" or "Quit Game" vs someone who leaves without doing either of them.
Maybe they had to leave for an important family thing; maybe they needed to leave realising they’re late for an event; maybe ssomeone has been hurt or injured, or a crime in progress in house or nearby and they need to respond; or maybe they left because they’re just not having fun and want to be matched with other players they may have more fun playing with, or play another game.
I don’t know about you but I’d rather not see the game punish people who need to leave for legitimate, personal, or life-involving reasons because a few intentionally disconnect for the sole purpose of ruining the game.
If a Killer disconnects, Survivors should get 10k-ish bloodpoints and their offerings returned if the game was shorter than 3 minutes. If Survivors disconnect a Killer should be given more than 650 or however many it is bloodpoints.
By the way, OP, Survivors do not lose pips if the Killer disconnects at the very start. The game says ‘0’, and doesn’t deduct pips, even though the gauge doesn’t reach the black pip. -
Here’s my idea for Beast of Prey;
Your prey never escapes.
Bloodlust will be applied and tier up every 15/12.5/10 seconds of a chase, with an increased speed boost per tier;
-Tier 1; +0.4m/s
-Tier 2; +0.8m/s
-Tier 3; +1.6m/s
Bloodlust persists for 2/4/6 seconds after a chase ends.
Upon hitting a Survivor, Bloodlust will return to Tier 1.
I had a second idea that involved Survivors becoming Exposed after an elongated chase, but deleted it just to post this one.
Editing to add; I’m on my phone in a car at the moment so I won’t leave feedback on your other perk ideas yet, but when I arrive home and get my PC out I’ll project my other ideas for the other perks you mentioned. -
This meme perfectly summarises this post;

Okay I’ll discuss this topic seriously now; I do agree, the game would be much better if I could get above 30fps consistently. I have a low-end PC - it’s actually a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop - and can’t get much more than 45fps on certain maps.
The game’s skill checks mechanic and some other things are actually designed for 60fps. Because I get below 60fps, the skill check needle is... erratic sometimes. Below 60fps makes it completely impossible half the time to actually land a great, because sometimes there are no frames that have the needle in the great zone.
Don’t get me started on the console version though. The poor optimisation makes it nearly unplayable half the time. The skill checks are even worse, and the Doctor, even without having a build that makes skill checks more difficult (ie, Unnerving Presence, Huntress’ Lullaby) is pretty much brokenly overpowered on console. Hell, Ruin basically freezes the game entirely until it’s destroyed.
Thank the Entity we’re getting optimisation passes on all platforms in December. Maybe even I will be able to get 60fps then. -
I saw something similar happen in one of TrU3Ta1ent’s streams.
He had a Tapp spawn right in front of him when he played Wraith.
I thought it might have been a Terror Radius thing because I thought the rule of Survior spawns is that they aren’t meant to spawn within the Killer’s TR, and Wraith starts cloaked with none, but seeing you spawn right next to Trapper I guess that theory’s wrong.
Unless Trapper had Insidious, but I guess if he did he’d show invisible at the start.
Devs gotta fix this. -
You could always use a controller and just spin the left stick around.
Way easier than mashing A and D.
With a controller it actually doesn’t matter whether you move the stick left and right, so long as you’re actually moving it. I’ve also noticed you seem to be able to influence the direction you cause the Killer to be moved by wiggling it around the respective side.
Though it may be a challenge if you’ve never used a controller before. I personally find it easier to play as Survivor with a controller. -
No.

-
If render scaling is too low, it can also cause performance issues.
I have a PC that can just run the game at 30fps playing Killer. I get at least 45fps as Survivor. The reason I get less as Killer is because for some reason the weapon being on the screen makes it run even worse.
You should set your render scaling to around 50%. Believe me, it helps.Though I might be wrong - I think render scaling being too low affecting performance may be For Honor instead of Dead by Daylight. But try it anyway.
-
Then the Killer can slug 'em all and let them bleed out.
There's also the fact that hooks destroyed by sabotage respawn after three minutes. But I understand the concern - there may be no hooks close enough to put a Survivor on if at least two were destroyed by sacrifice, because hooks destroyed by sacrifice don't respawn. -

Stop making assumptions.Don't bother arguing with Wolf74. He doesn't bring anything constructive to the table at all and resorts to the 'killer main' argument.
I agree with this change to WGLF, but I think it shouldn't require 5 tokens. That's five hits that you need to take which can be nearly impossible to manage without self-care, medkits, or SWF teammates, or Survivors who are actually dependable, which is quite rare.
I'd reduce the required WGLF stacks to two, 50% each, to a maximum of 100%. Or make it four stacks, 50% each, to a maximum of 200%.
Losing a health state and risking being tunneled to death afterwards, or potentially never getting healed, is too dangerous to require so many tokens for so little reward. -

FrenziedRoach said:Question, how many people run No Mither?
So why would you run a perk that gives you the disadvantages of No Mither with none of the advantages for a significant amount of time after the unhook?
Deliverance is the most overrated of the new perks IMO.
I use NM, I'm actually gonna use Deliverance when the chapter drops since I already have the broken status effect permanently. People just don't know how much damage a kobe can do to killers since it removes all momentum.
inb4 Deliverance's Broken status effect removes No Mither's when it runs out.
-
@CoolAKn said:
I don't care for Deliverance, mostly because I want the items I bring in to be of worth. If I am caught and hooked first, it becomes a wasted perk slot. Honestly, this perk is a bit over-hyped. I honestly doubt it will become an effective meta. If all 4 people use Deliverance, it is guaranteed that at least one person cannot use it. If anything, Deliverance might actually encourage camping.Realistically speaking, it would guarantee that at least two people can't use Deliverance.
But I digress. -
God damn people are so up in arms about Deliverance.
The Survivor who self-unhooks needs to first make a Safe Unhook, in which the Survivor they unhook needs to not go down again for 15 seconds after being unhooked.
Then, if they do manage it, they are Broken for a full minute (at tier 3), and can't heal. They don't instantly become healthy after losing Broken, so they still need to escape if you've been chasing them, to heal, and that takes longer.
Broken isn't No Mither - the Survivor will leave blood trails and still make injured groans. Turn your volume up and listen.
Or you can just waste your time to camp them on hook until they hit Phase 2 so they can't use it at all.
It's your choice. -
No.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure any toxicity originating from Dead By Daylight should be BHVR's concern.
The fact that they're ignoring toxicity on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media and alternative platforms is bewildering. This toxicity comes from BHVR's game, and they're refusing to acknowledge or punish it if it doesn't happen in the game. -

Not like being told to kill myself affects me that much, but it can affect people with a suicidal history or tendencies, and it's just a horrible thing to say to a person.
It makes it even worse that posting it on your Steam profile means they are potentially untouchable by BHVR because they didn't do it in the game.
Since @not_Queen was part of the livestream, I'd like to tag her as well. Maybe she can give more insight as she brought the topic up on the livestream. -
What in the hell did this thread become?

Got called an ######### for not saving my team of all three survivors who were simultaneously hooked in the basement even though the Wraith would have put me on there with them if I tried.
But to be fair though, you can just barely get 20fps as Killer on some maps like Haddonfield and Badham, especially as Doctor.
The lower FPS cap makes skill checks nasty to manage which makes Skill Check Doctor insurmountable.
I get better FPS on my Toshiba laptop. Just grab a PC, man. -
Complaining about toxicity yet promoting it simultaneously.

But why in the world would the Entity bring a flare gun into a realm with creatures that do not particularly enjoy the light?Yeah I already covered that point in 'why it wouldn't work', but I still thought I'd throw it out there as a concept.
Since it's the Entity's own realm, I guess he could change the rules of the flare gun to make it happen only the way he wants it to happen or something, you know?
Since it's the Entity's world, I'm pretty sure he has total control over it. 'Changing the rules', I doubt is out of the question.
That and the fact that the Entity feeds on hope. Giving Survivors stronger tools to fight back = making them much more hopeful that they'll escape = a much tastier meal when they're inevitably sacrificed. -
@ToxicTapp said:
so... Friday the 13th?That is part of what made me think this up, but I originally thought of it because if we were gonna get an ultra-rare "flashlight" it oughta be something really strong, but extremely limited, you know?
A flare gun could instantly stun the Killer, instantly blind if they're shot directly in the face, but only be usable once, cannot be saved by a black ward by reducing it to 'one charge' for the rest of the trial, can't have any add-ons to save it from being consumed when used, and so on.
But it should also be truly extremely rare, you know? Like, rarer than a Skeleton Key or Rainbow Map, or the ultra-rare add-ons for the other Survivor items. -
I'm not sure if anybody else has said it yet, but even Identity V has Dedicated Servers, and that is a mobile game, supported by BHVR, but not owned by them.
But I understand personally why BHVR aren't doing Dedicated Servers - they would need to remake the networking and most of the coding for the game, from scratch.
Do you guys even know how nasty the problems are for a Killer who is not host, like in KYF? Trapper's traps float over the ground, the Pig's Jigsaw Boxes might not even spawn and cause her traps to instantly kill, Killers can be launched out of the map out of god damn nowhere, doing literally nothing, then fly off into orbit instantaneously. Those are only a few of the problems that happen to the Killer alone if they aren't host.Identity V was created with Dedicated Servers in mind, and that's why it supports it. As far as I know it never started off as a P2P connection game, so they never needed to change the networking and the game itself to support Dedicated Servers.
If you take another game for example, Warframe is a game that's peer to peer, but it could be easily transferred over to Dedicated Servers, solely because the game was not created like Dead By Daylight. Warframe would be easy to move to Dedicated Servers because of how the game already is - suitable for an easy transfer.
Dead By Daylight? It actually isn't. The Killer has always been host for this game and the game has been built up and designed around exactly that. If they want to make it into Dedicated Servers, BHVR would need to remake the game from the ground-up to support Dedicated Servers.
And with remaking the game from the ground up... there's a massive amount of ways that BHVR could break the game.
I'd rather stay with peer-to-peer connections than a transfer to Dedicated Servers that could break the entire game.
Of course BHVR have the money, but do they have the time, tech, or skill to do it? That's the question you should be asking, people. -
Freddy: Buff him.

I think this is a cool addon. What do you call "hit" in "Survivors hit gain the Broken status effect"? Hit with the main weapon I suppose? But I think even if it's with the chainsaw, eh, it's an iridescent addon, that's logical it's powerful, it's ultra rare.Ah, my bad.
'Hit' was meant to regard chainsaw strikes, for applying Broken.
I should have made it conform properly to the add-ons in the game, I'll actually edit that now. -
Distressing is useful for having massive terror radius builds, for Doctor's Treatment Mode, and for synergy with other Terror Radius perks.
The default 32 meter Terror Radius (the size a majority of Killers have) will become just around 40 meters with Distressing on. The 24 meter Terror Radius that a few other Killers have (Huntress, Hag) will become roughly 30 meters.
Distressing also doubles the amount of Deviousness points you get in the trial - note, it does not increase the points you can gain or get after the trial, but how many you get per Deviousness score event.
Having a larger Terror Radius allows for Unnerving Presence, Overwhelming Presence, Coulrophobia, and Doctor's Static Field (Terror Radius in Treatment Mode) to affect Survivors from a longer distance.
It's a good perk for both Terror Radius builds and for farming. Both of which are extremely effective for Doctor. -
@MojoTheFabulous said:
It's being changed because it feels ######### when you get downed before you're given control of your character.Except you shouldn't be getting pulled off to begin with - it's only done by greedy Survivors or Survivors who only pull you off you get a few extra points, or use you as bait.
Those Survivors are the ones who need to be punished for it - an Exposed status effect within the Killer's Terror Radius, like a mini-MYC, or something for a few seconds might punish greedy Survivors, and deter players from going for hook saves mid-chase.
BHVR have to discourage reckless hook saves, not encourage them. They're going about it the wrong way by giving buffs to Survivors who save and are saved under these conditions - they should punish the one who tries to do it.Otherwise a Survivor should, by default, be Exposed for some time after saving a Survivor from the hook in the Killer's Terror Radius.
There needs to be a reason to not save inside the Terror Radius or with the Killer coming your way. The fact a Survivor can tank a hit and pull his friend off while the Killer's wiping off their weapon is just ridiculous. -

A "Doctor main" but not "killer main"... so you play low rank killer and come to the forum to ask for nerfs for the killer you played?
Sounds legit.^^Tell me again, how do you bodyblock a survivor and use the shock on him at the same time?
If you waste your time trapping a survivor, the rest of the team should have a basically a free escape.
The killer is basically putting himself in a bad spot.I'm not even going to argue with you - you're pretentious and you act as if rank actually matters. I'm actually hovering around Rank 5 Killer on PC and console, and Rank 12-14 for Survivor.
Implying rank matters.
"ur low rank git gud u scrub ur not a killer main." is basically all that I'm getting from you. You're refusing to understand what I'm actually trying to accomplish with this post, or are you one of those "survivor mains" too?
I can act as if maining Survivor or Killer matters as well for credibility. You also refuse to acknowledge that I said I main Doctor WHEN I PLAY KILLER.
Why does it concern you that I'm asking for fairness for Survivors, when it comes to my main Killer?
It's like saying I don't deserve to make a thread about nerfing or buffing Mesa in Warframe when she's my go-to, or nerfing Berserker or Shaman because they're my mains in For Honor. They're all S-tier character in their respective games.
By the way, Shaman does need some sort of a nerf, we can all agree there. And if you're going by the idea that Doctor should not lose collision in Treatment Mode, by all means make a thread asking for The Shape to have collision when he's stalking Survivors. See how much you get called a 'Killer Main' just for making that thread, like you're calling me a Survivor main for asking Doctor to lose collision in Treatment.
But like I said - I won't argue with you anymore.
@Peanits can you close this thread for me, considering no one wants to have a discussion without being toxic, as default in this community?
-
@Wolf74 said:
And honestly, I do not believe you are a Doctor main, not even a killer main.I never said I was a killer main - I meant that I'm a Doctor main when I play Killer.
Though I don't exclusively play Doctor, he is my go-to Killer. He's the first and only Killer that I have Prestiged.
And almost all of the time, I spend bloodpoints that I gain on the very same Killer or Survivor that I earned them with in the trial, unless I need them for something else.
So yes, I main Doctor as Killer.
And as a Doctor main, he needs to lose his collision in Treatment Mode.
And if not, then while charging Shock Therapy and during its cooldown. Just like that.I can be a main of either side and suggest buffs, nerfs, or changes to either side. It shouldn't matter whether I main Killer or Survivor - I'm only saying that I want this changed as fairness for Survivors, as a Doctor main.
-
I actually agree.
Decisive Strike can temporarily counter Dying Light and a few other Obsession perks, as well as even non-obsession perks, by denying a hook.
What BHVR are going to do is prevent the Obsession with Decisive Strike from being completely safe from one hook to buy more time for the rest of their team to keep 100% action speed for a while (assuming Dying Light).
Yes, the Obsession and the Obsession only, should be able to instantly escape. Everyone else either cannot use the perk at all, or can only stun. -
Yet the devs encourage camping. They accept it as a strategy, hell they even make perks that support camping. That’s why Insidious exists.Witchaven said:I can think of a great reason for this not to happen, because once those generators are finished, about 90% of killers camp the guy on the hook. Meaning getting hooked at the end (even if you'd never been hooked before that) would mean certain death.
I’m very sure endgame hook camping will not, in the slightest, discourage BHVR from turning NOED back into a normal Perk.
