Also let me just tag @Peanits so we can ask whether it's safe - or allowed - to do so or not.
Just in case. -
I'm not sure whether this is actually allowed - it might fall under 'cheating'.

We don't necessarily ban just for farming. If it happens, it happens.I would say you probably shouldn't make a guide for it though. The more people know about it, the more they're going to do it wrong and potentially ruin the game for others. Farming at someone else's expense (killer + survivor working together to farm another survivor off the hook), not letting people who don't want to farm leave, etc. Those types of things are bannable.
So TL;DR, I would say don't, just because people are going to do it wrong and that's going to end up in bans. Farming in the wild, meh, no biggy. But it's not something we'd want to promote.
While I am intending to make a guide for farming, I intend to also leave a disclaimer stating to not let the guide encourage farming, but rather to make farming more efficient on the occasion that one would wish to.
To also explain not to farm players who don't want to farm and such.I understand if you don't want me to make a guide on farming on these forums, but I'd still like to do so if you'd allow me.
Regardless of the outcome, I hope it isn't problematic that I tell farmers that I encounter in the game itself how to farm better at the end of it. -

Please don't nobody wants boring 20 minute matches. If 2 people dc on their teammates i will let them farm since the match is screwed but otherwise it is boring and takes forever.Which is the primary reason why I want to make a guide on farming - to help Killers and Survivors make the most of it if they decide to farm, for any reason.
Whether it's farming because two people disconnected; whether it's farming because someone failed to make it into the game; whether it's farming because a Survivor is AFK; whether it's farming just because someone feels like it.
There's a lot of points being wasted, and with the new Safe Unhook score event, even more. I hope to at least help players do so more efficiently. -

Ages ago, NOED used to be a perk and not a hex.
Then Survivors cried and got it changed.
Now why would the Survivors want to be able to disable a perk that one-shots them, at the end of the game when they should be leaving, eh?
Maybe because they want to be able to bully the Killer without fear of getting their asses kicked for as long as they want.
I highly doubt the devs actually thought about that little detail when they made NOED able to be disabled by the Survivors.
NOED needs to be changed back to a normal perk, and then that would make a massive difference to Survivors holding the game hostage afterwards. -

The point is that you shouldn't try to unhook yourself when the killer is near. It's like getting the winning ticket, throwing it in the trash and then expect to receive the reward. What choice do you have when the exit gates are open, everyone's been slugged, and he's standing there just waiting for you to get off the hook so he can get his extra points and easily eliminate you from the game entirely, or wait until you go into phase 2?
-
@Wolf74 said:
Tell me again… why should the killer be punished for you making a luckbased escape? Why should the Killer be rewarded more bloodpoints for you making a luck-based escape?
Survivors are being punished for managing something that only has a four percent chance of success, something that exists to allow them to escape as a last resort.
Self-escapes are extremely rare, you won't see them happen in every single game, so why should the Survivor be punished for making it off, and the Killer be rewarded?
I've already said that this is on the same page as Survivors being farmed on the hook - knocked back down, picked up, and put straight back on the hook before they are capable of doing anything.
A Survivor in front of me, who I just put on a hook, manages to get off on their own. I easily hit them back to the ground, netting another 500 points for Brutality, then another 200 for a hook, then 200 more for them going into Struggle Phase. That's 900 blood points for the Killer, immediately.
(i might have calculated the above wrong, but you get my point)
Or I could kill them with an Ivory or Ebony Mori offering, giving me 1000 points for a kill. That still gives me 500 for hitting them to the ground to begin with.
So on both occasions, the Killer will be given another 1500 bloodpoints because a Survivor had a stroke of "LUCK" to get off the hook on their own.
That isn't counting the points the Killer gets afterwards for the Survivor dying on hook.
The Survivor gets 1500 points for a successful hook escape, and that's it. The Killer is still rewarded more than the Survivor for getting the sacrifice in the end.And it's a 4% chance for it to happen.
Sound a little like an RNG reward? Why should a Survivor have the ability to get off the hook on their own if they are going to be immediately killed afterwards? It isn't fair for the Survivors, which is why every time they manage it, I let them find the hatch or go for the exit gates, because it isn't fair that they are stuck in an animation or can be put down and straight back on instantly for getting off.
This is not a "surrrrvivuh mayne" crying - I play both sides, Killer more, so don't let it make your argument biased against Survivors.
I'm asking for it to be fair, that an extremely rare occurrence is able to be acted upon vs a camping Killer. -
Making the perk have an unlimited duration, let alone any higher than 30 seconds, would make it overpowered.
In the endgame there are only three generators left to repair. If a Surveillance Killer kicks all of them, they will all be shown in white to them until a Survivor starts repairing it. Then she can go straight to the generator because that wasn't 30 seconds, and even that implies that she hasn't done a full round of patrol between all three generators.
Surveillance has a 16 second duration for a reason, man. It's not completely useless, it's more suited as a late-game perk, which is the entire focus of the Killer who it comes from - the Pig. -

The lock-out of Rank 15-20 just turns the rest of the ranks into kiddie pools, especially when the game has a free weekend, is free to own like this month for PS+, or if it's on sale.
I've had Rank 6-10 Survivors and Killers play like Rank 15s and worse because of this change. Now there's basically only 15 ranks in the game and just five ranks going missing makes a massive difference to all of the others.
I've had Survivors who don't know how to pallet loop, Survivors who literally don't know how to run, and Survivors who hide behind thin and low obstacles thinking I don't see them.
I've had Killers who vault windows even when it's faster to go around, Killers who don't know how to break pallets, and Killers who don't even know how to use their own power.
On both ends? Disconnections galore.BHVR wanted to prevent people from deranking to noob zones to stomp? They just made new players storm into the ranks without even knowing the mechanics of the game properly.
We're going to have newbies reaching the red ranks. We already have them reaching purples.
BHVR didn't even attempt to prevent players between Rank 10 and 15 from being matched with players between 15 and 20. I was at Killer Rank 15 on PS4 and had a full lobby of Rank 19 and 20 Survivors.
Killers and Survivors can easily derank down to 15 and still be able to reach the Rank 20 players.
The devs didn't think this through at all. -

You are both right to an extent, my suggestion is that they let killers Mori the last survivor if he's in the hatch radius, this way it's a matter of who finds it first
The Survivor is capable of jumping into the hatch while the Killer is wiping off their weapon. Being hit doesn't cancel actions that Survivors take, otherwise Survivors wouldn't be able to rescue from hooks after being struck, drop pallets, or vault windows.
Within the hatch radius, either the Killer should have no cooldown on a successful hit, or the Survivor should be unable to enter when hit within its radius.
Allow the Killer to interrupt hatch escapes when a dying Survivor jumps in as well.Or we can simply have the hatch closing ability put back into the game and Survivors get the hell over it.
But no of course, the devs only favour the majority so no ability to close the hatch will ever show up in the game despite them saying that it will. -

Boil over works well enough. I've had killers not use a near by hook for one further off, stalled their forward progress by making them hit obstacles, and a lot of times all I need is a body block or distraction to wiggle or. I think that's a perfectly balanced perk as it relies on team play.
Your suggestion is getting closer to DS in that a
Boil Over almost a DS? HA. It would be a legit counter to Iron Grasp.
Also how many times will someone actually body block for you in solo play?
I said weepeme's suggestion is closer to DS, not as it is now. It's just a way to get free without having to rely on teamwork.
How often your solo team CHOOSES to helps you is inconsequential. If you aren't working together you should be hanging from a hook. You know how many times i was 99% wiggle?
You either get off or you don’t. You aren’t owed an escape from the shoulder just because you were ‘so close’.
There is a reason BHVR didn’t make Boil Over speed up wiggle progress. It’s already got two effects anyway - Killer’s swayed more when you wiggle and hook auras are hidden when close.
We don’t need the ‘Holy Trinity’ to become the ‘Four Horsemen’. -

The thing about the Moris is that you still need to hook a Survivor once to be able to kill them, or they need to be last alive.dannyfrog87 said:mori doesnt count. it has to be the tombstone and fragrant tuft of hair. i know ive done it on pc and ps4. so yeah lol. it can be a pain to get this achievement im telling you!
In both cases you should get enough points for at least a single pip.
Mori does work, because I got the Adept Myers achievement using one, like I just said in my first response. But you need to make sure to get enough points in the other categories or you might not get Merciless.
The game itself says that the Entity can be ‘Displeased’ if you kill too many Survivors by your hand, and that’s probably what happened in Rockin’s case. -
You need to get the victory condition 'Merciless Killer', where if I remember correctly you need to reach one and a half pips at the very least, or get four kills, with some other conditions.
You won't always gain Merciless Killer if you kill all four Survivors, especially if you get very little points in any of the other categories.
Take for example, you said yourself that you never hit a Survivor. As a result, you never got Brutality for striking a Survivor, you only got the 1000 Sacrifice points for Kill.
So if you don't consider any of the other categories having more than 500 points, as I assume your chases were short, you broke few pallets, and you didn't get too much in Deviousness, you'd have gotten a total of 4000 points at the bare minimum - four Kills - in Sacrifice only. That is only one category 'filled', and even then it isn't at its grand point cap.
So account for the 'no more than' 500 points in the others, you left the trial with 5500 points. I don't think that is too much more than a black pip, but to get Merciless, I believe you need to have had at least gotten one pip.
I'm not accounting for the points that The Shape gets for Stalking and tiering up Evil Within because I don't know how to calculate it properly. If you did get 'Merciless Killer', then the only thing that I assume went wrong is that you may have not equipped all three, equipped a fourth perk, or may have equipped an incorrect one.
But if I may recommend something for future attempts at getting the Adept achievement, you should avoid using the Tombstone. Using the Tombstone with the Fragrant Tuft takes far too long to get to Tier 3 and then you need to contend with the reduced movement speed resulting from the Tombstone.
It'll be better to take the Fragrant Tuft and J. Myers' Memorial and play normally. Then all you need is to keep trying.
Probably take an Ivory or Ebony Memento Mori to cut down on time in case you need it. I personally took an Ivory Mori and used it on a particularly annoying Meg that kept flashlight saving to get her out of the game as soon as possible.Good luck on trying to get the Adept achievement again.

NoED, Leatherface, iridescent hatches, and Michaels unlimited EW3, hell even judith's tombstone, all are "hard working" methods? Yeah, okay. Hatchets and NoED ill give you that because skill to aim and noed ez counter
Though instaheals are rewarding without punishment I acknowledge, are only a problem when you see more than 2 of them.
Infinite Tier 3: You need to stalk for a long time to get there.
Judith’s Tombstone: Especially when combined with Fragrant Tuft, you need to stalk all four Survivors for all of the Evil you need, and you need to contend with the Tombstone’s reduced movement speed penalty. Myers moves as slow as, or even slower than, the Huntress and Hag with the Tombstone.
The time it takes to stalk to T3 with infinite and Tombstone is generally so long that four generators will pop, or even the gates will be opened, and you still won’t be maxed out if you face competent Survivors.
So yes, they take effort. -
Renaming the Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe to Morphine could cause the game to be hit by every classification board that has a problem with drugs in games, especially if it mentions addiction in any way.fuzzyhobo said:Re-label the addons to something like Adrenaline or Morphine
Fallout 3 was temporarily banned in Australia because of Med-X originally being called Morphine. Though it may have primarily been because the player character was able to be addicted to chems that shared the names of real drugs.
However, your idea of calling it Morphine or Adrenaline makes sense, since both the A-HS and the Styptic Agent say that they prevent bleeding. That heavily suggests that the game’s primary definition of health is whether or not the player character is losing a certain amount of blood, as having a wound healed in reality wouldn’t mean that you’re healed up and uninjured, but it does mean your bleeding stops or at least is slowed significantly.
So I support your idea to change insta-heals. -

Oh for #########'s sake, you are not ever getting another perk that lets you wiggle out faster.
Yes, "another".
You already have Decisive Strike which literally says that it 'fills the wiggle meter' when you hit the skill check after passing 35% at max rank, non-obsession.
But no of course, all you want is another one.
And another one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEI3N9kIyP4If you ever get that perk, you might as well have BHVR remove a perk slot because every single Survivor will run it, then the 'Holy Trinity' will become the 'Four Horsemen'.
After that, every single Killer you face off against will use Iron Grasp to counter it, and then Agitation just so they can likely put you right into the basement regardless of that perk.
Then you'll have another perk that's forced into the high-rank meta - Killers already need to use Ruin, then they'll need to always use Iron Grasp. If you seriously want a perk that lets you wiggle out faster, you honest to god have to git ######### gud.

There are far more noobs to stomp. I enjoyed my time on PS4 for a while until I truly realised how horrendous the performance is.
But I feel like my own skill is getting weaker, on both ends, for both platforms, because there are in a way far too many noobs to stomp and not enough actually good players.
That, and how OchiDO has now moved to PS4, will make Survivors even more likely than they already are, to be toxic.
It's far easier to successfully 360 and juke Killers on console solely because they don't have the precision of mouse aiming, nor do they have a smooth, consistent 30+fps at all times, and Survivors have a full 360 angle of movement with joysticks, unlike PC where they only have 8 directions and must fine-tune with their mouse aim.Devs really need to optimise their game for consoles. Fix whatever ######### exists to make it so bad, and remove the FPS cap. Make it happen for PS4, and not just PS4 Pro.
Give console players the ability to adjust graphical settings if they want to, like we can on PC. I'd rather have the game look like ass with good performance, than seeing every grain of wood at 12fps.
My Toshiba laptop can run this game at 45fps on the lowest settings as Survivor, and 30fps as Killer - because for some reason, having the weapon on-screen as Killer takes a massive toll on performance.
I know my PS4 is many times more powerful than my laptop, so why does the same game run worse on console default settings?Come on, BHVR. Optimise your game for console. Consistent 30fps at the very least, eliminating all drops whatsoever.

But I agree - if you disconnect enough to be banned until rank reset, at least that’ll stop you from ruining more games for a while. -
Not going for scaling durations was because of how meagre the punishments are for the first few.Master said:@Judgement said:
Disconnections whether they are from pulling the plug, leaving the match, or Alt+F4, need to be punished more than just losing two insignificant pips.
Everyone - even the devs - know that 'rank means nothing' so why is a double-depip the only punishment you get for disconnecting from the game?
The reason I've brought forward this topic is due to how much I've been getting affected by consistent disconnections, and I have noticed the effects of players leaving the match happening to both sides.
If anything, disconnecting merely punishes those who are still in the game - it doesn't punish the player who disconnects.Let's look at it from the Survivors' perspective;
Scenario 1 - the Killer has Dying Light. The Obsession disconnects from the game because he missed his Decisive Strike or because he was being tunneled by the Killer. The rest of the Survivors suffer a 25% action speed penalty for the rest of the game because the Obsession disconnected.
Scenario 2 - two Survivors disconnect when no generators are completed, because they rushed the hook and got pulled off and hooked themselves while the Killer was there. The person on the hook dies and I'm the only one left in the trial. All that I can do is hope that the Killer is merciful and wants to farm before killing me or letting me go. If that isn't the case, then I last as long as I can, hiding and standing no chance, until I die.
Scenario 3 - You go to save someone on the hook. The Killer is not too far behind you, as you dropped a pallet to delay them. You go to save the hooked Survivor while the Killer is stunned and breaking the pallet, but they disconnect before you reach them. For a moment you're confused and you keep trying to save the Survivor, not realising what actually happened yet, but for that very moment of confusion, the Killer has closed enough distance to lay their second hit on you and put you down.Now the Killer's perspective;
Scenario 1 - the Obsession, made so by Save The Best For Last, leaves when you spent all your tokens putting him on the ground and slugging him for a moment so you can maybe farm more tokens from the other Survivors before killing the Obsession to keep them. The Obsession disconnects, leaving you with no tokens to begin with, giving the Killer a null perk.
Scenario 2 - You down a Survivor. You are about to hook them for the BBQ & Chili stack, or for Devour Hope, but they disconnect before you get them on the hook. You are robbed of 25% of the bloodpoints you would have gotten for the trial, and you must hunt for the rest of the Survivors as you didn't get to put them on the hook to see the auras. Or, you are robbed of up to two tokens that would have potentially allowed you to start oneshotting and eventually killing Survivors by your own hand.
Scenario 3 - The last two Survivors in the trial. One generator left, and they're all too close for the Survivors to repair, as you patrol between them all. One Survivor disconnects and the hatch opens. As soon as this happens, the other one escapes the trial by that same hatch. The first Survivor disconnected as they both found the hatch, and one let the other one escape by essentially suiciding. These are only a few of the scenarios in which disconnecting seriously affects the game. Disconnecting being punished, should punish the person who disconnected, not the ones who didn't.
For that reason, I propose an idea;
If a Survivor or Killer disconnects, they are banned from playing as Killer or Survivor (whichever one they disconnected as), or both modes for one hour in real time. If you're going to disconnect, better make sure you have a good reason and make sure you have a backup game to play for the next hour.
If you disconnect as the Obsession, you are banned for three hours, due to how significant the role of Obsession is in most trials. You doom your team into losing 25% action speed, or the Killer loses their ability to gain or lose Save The Best For Last tokens, stuck at 0, and so on.
This ban will not scale up for subsequent disconnections, nor should it progress into a permanent ban with consistent disconnections, unless absolutely necessary (ie, the already-in-place auto-ban where if you disconnect for 80% of games before the next season, you are banned automatically).
Also if you disconnect, your character doesn't automatically die in the game. They can be downed in one shot and will die instantly upon being hooked, but will not bleed out. This will allow the Killer to at least get their Devour Hope, Huntress' Lullaby, or BBQ and Chili stacks, as well as preventing an instant hatch-open and escape for the other Survivors. While this may encourage Survivors to essentially throw themselves into the Killer so he can rebound them into a hook for them to leave, this would at least allow the Killer to gain all of their points for sacrifice, stacks for perks, and so on. An hour's ban is a much better punishment than losing two pips of a mechanic that 'means nothing'.
The survivor-killer side bann is quite interesting, would maybe force them to paly the other role once.
However I believe 1 hour for the 1st DC is too much, it should be a time penatly that grows with the amount you DC in a set time and should reset after set time. (first DC 5 mins, 2nd 15 etc)
If you get a five minute ban you can go treat yourself to a wank in the shower and come back as if nothing happened, straight into the next game.
Considering how SIGNIFICANTLY a disconnection affects the game, the ban should be about as significant.
One hour’s ban at base, three hours for the obsession.
The fact that players who’ve been around for a long enough time, or toxic players who only played to be toxic, don’t really need BP, that’s why a BP punishment would be just as useless as a depip.Mister_Holdout said:@Master said:

I've said it once and I'll say it again.Start tacking on a -75% blood point penalty on all future games. Meaning, every time you finish a match you'll only get 25% of what you would have earned.
This penalty will persist until the player shows they can stay for an entire game. Usually by completing a certain number of matches without leaving.
For someone who has unlocked everything he needs already, a BP punishment is completely pointles.
Take me for example. I have all perks unlocked and a survivor P3, I play without items usually, so I dont need to spend a penny when playing survivor.Your kind of DC penatly wouldnt hurt me at all when I paly survivor. In fact such a penatly could be easily exploited by starting a few games and instantly suiciding to get rid of the BP penatly (if you care about BP)
There is a reason why every game uses a queue time penatly for DCing, it literally is the best and easiest way to tackle this problem
You mean you don't spend blood points anymore?
Because I would think blood points are always useful.
That said, you have a point. People with thousands of hours could probably rely on their reserves to keep them going while the penalty is in effect.
Perhaps adding a time penalty in addition to the blood point penalty is the best course.
A time penalty by itself could work too. Just not sure how you would implement it. I can't recall playing any games that used time penalties (at least that I can remember).
It’d only serve to punish newer players with much to unlock, and not the players with 20 purple flashlights and every perk on every character.
An hour’s ban would not only affect older players equally to newer players, but it would massively discourage newer players from disconnecting so frequently, which we all know the noobs do a lot in their first month or so of playing.
