Yeah I could see it. I imagine there are quite a few concepts in the creative page of the forums. I've been trying to think of one myself actually.

Okay not sure if this thread was intended as a Joke or not but it brings to mind a question. Is there labor unions for killers and survivors? Like exactly how would that work? Maybe the next killer will actually be a lawyer who takes the term Cut-throat literally.
The Lawyer comes with three unique Perks...
Litigation, Jury Duty, and Plea Bargain!

Let me put it this way. There are 5 players.
1/5 player has the ability to depip everyone by not playing
If a survivor is downed once, the killer has the ability to say "this is your death hook you dont get to play."
The ability of the Killer to control the end outcome despite the survivors ability, as one player, far exceeds the amount of control that the 4 survivors together have over the killer.
I think instead of looking at it as 1 out of 5 players, you should look at it as one team out of two. While one team only has one member it's still one side verse another. If your team doesn't want to save their teammate on a hook because of the other side camping that's fine. Cut your losses and try to salvage as much as you can.
Also, this is just a personal position so take it with a grain of salt, but pips don't matter. Rank doesn't matter. You're either playing with brain-dead nitwits on the lower ranks or you're sweating your giblets off in the higher ranks. Just relax and realize, it's just a game, but it's okay to be frustrated because of it.
-
Not that I know. I uninstalled DBD at one point because of one reason or the other. After redownloading it, I had all my stuff. Had to equip my stuff again, but it was all there. I play on Xbox so it's probably the same on PS.
-
Okay...here we go.
Trapper has lots of experience with heavy lifting, as he did work in his father's mine. Heaving up a survivor to his shoulder should be no problem.
Wraith has likely been working hard labor jobs since coming to America, so he's definitely got some muscle. However, it's possible signs of back damage are already showing, as you can see whenever he is standing still he has his head tilted to the side, as that is probably to most comfortable position for his spine.
Hillbilly has worked manual labor his entire life, plus he's already got a hunch. I doubt his father or others taught him proper lifting techniques and he had to just go with what was most comfortable/efficient.
Nurse has some sort of telekinetic force that allows her to break pallets and generators, so I assume she must be using it to pick up survivors.
Myers is pure evil. He probably lift people up without proper lifting technique just to make people angry because he's just so evil.
Hag seems to already be crippled slightly due to the cannibalism. However, she probably has some sort of hex that allows her to be able to summon some ungodly amount of strength to lift survivors.
Doctor is filled with wires and other metal bits, likely reinforcing his body and allowing such fluid movement.
Huntress has years of experience transporting kills to her home and has built up quite a bit of muscle in the process. If she can drag a bear through the woods for several miles, she lift one person off the ground.
Bubba should know better, as he has had years of experience lifting people in order to have a nice family dinner.
Freddy is a dream demon and is likely using his nightmare powers to make us perceive improper lifting techniques. The true nightmare was spinal damage all along.
Pig has likely rigged up some sort of lifting contraption in her arm to help lift people up onto her shoulder. She was the apprentice to Jigsaw after all, years of mechanical engineering could allow for such a thing.
Clown is probably numb on painkillers and other drugs he can't even feel the pain his back is in whenever he lifts someone up.
Spirit is an incorporeal being and as such does not contain a skeletal system.
Legion are still young and rebellious. They don't care about proper lifting because you're not even their real Dad okay!
Plague is basically rotting from the inside out and her nerves can't even function properly. Bending down and lifting is the least of her worries at any given point.
Ghostface has always been a troll and is doing it on purpose just for the lols. He's so meticulous if he wasn't doing it for laughs he has some other reason for doing it surely.
Demogorgon... I'm not even going to pretend to know the anatomy of a creature from the upside down, so I'll just assume it's doing probably upside-downian lifting techniques.
Oni is probably just full of adrenaline all the time from all his rage he can't even feel pain. Even if he did, it would just make him angrier and more powerful.
Deathslinger is already crippled with that leg brace. He probably couldn't bend over if he wanted. That's the only way he can pick anything up.
Pyramid Head is technically just a manifestation of torment and improper lifting is probably just meant to torment all that witness it.
Blight is just filled with whatever is in his serums, which probably increases his strength and pain tolerance allowing for him to lift survivors effortlessly.
Charlotte had been carrying Victor around inside her chest for most of her life. Not to mention all that scrap and junk in her bag(?). With the deformity from being conjoined and the back strength built up from all that stuff, I doubt it's much of an issue for her to lift survivors.
Trickster just loves being the center of attention. Lifting improperly is just one of his many was for eyes to land on him. Don't fall for it, it's exactly what he wants.
Nemisis was designed for abuse. He can take gun fire, rockets, and even acid. The guy can probably one arm bench press a tank. He's probably reinforced with so much stuff nothing can stop him. Not even a pulled muscle.
Man that really stretched my creative thinking.
-
Siren Head is a great monster/creature. Visually distinct design, striking silhouette, eerie sound design, and terrifying implications.
Could Siren Head be in DBD? Unlikely, but possible I suppose.
A few things going against it; It's still relatively new to the indie horror scene, it is an indie horror icon, it's inconsistent in terms of design (especially height), would it technically be a licenced character, who owns the license if so, would they be willing to give BHVR the rights to use it, how could you integrate it into the DBD lore, and does it make sense in DBD.
Admittedly, that was more than a few, but the point still stands that it is possible, but not likely any time soon.

I feel like that would help with the "gen rush" that killers hate so much while still keeping it balanced. It would be really weird as an actual mechanic but maybe a perk or something could do that.
All I know is it would make for a chaotic game. Which pleases me...
-
@KrazyKatFTW said:
Interesting idea but i think it would be terrible in practice. Finding gens on some maps is already frustrating and having that as a built in game mechanic would not be fun
Like I said, I don't think it should be in the game, but it's still fun to speculate how it would affect it.
-
@Anniehere said:
This can be very confusing and can lead to complications whether in favor of the killer or vice versa.
Please no 😅
I know, just imagine you have Pop ready and you are heading over to a generator and without warning, ssshloop! It goes into the ground and your just standing there awkwardly.
-
@Apollos said:
I'd be playing Felix more often lmao
Yeah, Visionary would definitely have more use if this were a thing.
-
You do you. Play in whatever way you find most fun. Personally, I like to take the gamble on if I can hook another survivor, by walking away and chasing someone else, but that's just me.
-
Depends on your play style. If your more aggressive, chase perks are the way to go. If you have a hard time finding people or want to take your time regression Perks will help you out.
-
Lunge attacks in Feral Frenzy are always farther than you think. Practice and you'll get it down in no time.
-
I was thinking of running a blindness build before I can comment further as I hardly ever utilize blindness as killer.
-
I had a game where a zombie bugged out and I was able to complete an entire generator in its face. If anything I'd say their AI needs to inprove.

BHVR. BHVR defines what's fair in the game they made. DCing international is defined under Unsportsmanlike conduct and can be reported.

You wouldn't be able to move. Even on RCPD there's just not enough space to comfortably do anything. Killers would m1 their way to gens while survivors mash against each other trying and failing to get away. The gens would get done in about 50 seconds, whomever was at the gate would get out because the killers still can't move, the slugs would have been heading to the gates immediately if they had half a brain.
Even Bubba, Trickster and Plague wouldn't be able to do much. They would keep having other killers get in the way. In fact, Bubba would bump other killers constantly.
Which means that Myers would actually have it best out of the entire cast.
Edit: Myers with STBFL, because there can only be one obsession.
Oh yeah, indoor maps would be terrible. Imagine being a 115% killer stuck behind a 110% killer.
Also, I completely forgot about how the Obsession would be affected. Just think about how much it would switch if everyone decided to bully the Oni.

@Soulpaw said:
everyone would be infected by plague, thats for sure.
With everyone being infected, Plague would get her power a lot. With 27 survivors, at least some of them are going to cleanse...except David, he's already broken with No Mither.

Edit: also apparently the totems are stacked with powers so RIP everyone when someone blasts Haunted Grounds.

I would love to play in this mode, if only because half the killers would be getting into ineffectual slap fights with each other and just doing weird ######### to see how their powers interact with each other. It'd be great times.
Another thing I thought about is the fact coordination would be almost impossible. 4 man survivor squads work because of the small number. Imagine 20+ people all in the same party or discord.

There's three survivors that don't have a killer chasing them in a regular game... and in that game, they outnumber the killer four to one.
This would be a bloodbath. A hilarious bloodbath, but a bloodbath. That said, massive hook dead zones would occur before long and it'd become difficult to hook anyone. Cheryl and David would be hilarious - those two refuse to stay down and extend the match for days.
I wonder if other killers can step on Trapper's traps? Or activate Hag's traps? Or be attacked by Nemesis's zombies? Or become infected by Plague? Be kind of hilarious to see all the killers wheezing and puking.
Honestly, why not? Somethings I guess wouldn't make much sense like infection or contamination, but traps for Trapper and Hag? Absolutely. They could also reveal Ghostface when he's cloaked, be affected by Clown's gas, and be revealed by killer instinct from multiple sources. (i.e. Legion feral frenzy, Demogorgon portals, and Executioner trails.) Also, I'd imagine if a killer were to hit another killer with their basic attack or any damaging ability it would stun them. They don't have health, so this would be the next best thing.
-
Either the 4 Legion masks, DBD logo, Oni mask, or Feral Frenzy icon.

I just realized something: Either more Totems have to spawn, or some Killers won't have their Hex Perks be available at all.
Taking into account Hex: Haunted Ground's 2 Hex Totems & disregarding Hex: No One Escapes Death & Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt, there need to be at least 10 Totems up at the beginning.
Good point. Let's just say that stack on top of each other. That way there can still be 5 totems.

@GrimoireWeiss said:
Killers obviously win lol. Just park a killer into every gen.
The only way to circumvent this would be putting like, 60 generators on the map.
Would they? Even with all the killers, there would be 3 more survivors. Plus, a lot of generators have multiple spots to work on. Also, I'd imagine it would get increasingly harder to take survivors to hooks as they are destroyed or taken up one by one.
-
@NomiNomad said:
You assign killers to watch each generator. The strong chasers go out into the map to waste pallets and get a few downs, maybe a few hooks. After all the pallets are gone, which won't take long at all, let the bloodbath commence. Leave one killer to patrol each generator.
Some people would definitely end up dying on ground.
Even with all the killers, there are still 3 more survivors that wouldn't have a killer chasing them. Also, I don't think there would be enough hooks on the map for all the survivors, so killers would need to resort to basement at some point.
-
@Boss said:
Well Legion would have one hell of a time stabbing people, that's for sure.
Pretty much this.

I play on console. In fact I play on Xbox One S. There was definitely lag and it could screw you over, but it was tolerable. I got all my crowns and I had an enjoyable time. I don't know if it was worst for others on Xbox One, but at the very least, at this point, the whole of the gaming industry is moving on from last generation and is going to be focused on the current generation. Once more consoles are made and vultures stop snapping them up as quickly, I'm getting an Xbox Series X. The Devs have done all they can with the time they have. Yes, they get weekends off, which isn't industry standard, but that is their company choice.
Tl;dr Sorry, but grow up.

I'm not sure what your point is...
I want as many hooks as possible.
Okay, but that's on the survivors for unhooking and on you to allow them to unhook and then hook someone else.
-
It isn't required, but it does help immensely. There is a reason it is a meta perk combo. However, if you are good with basic killer mechanics and mind games, you should be able to secure a kill or two or three or four.
-
@Seraphor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2366568#Comment_2366568
But it doesn't do that.
A survivor dying on first hook is bad for the killer, you only get one hook score event out of it, but the counter counts it as 3, so you can't even rely on the information the counter is giving you.
Also, without individual survivor hook counts, it can be hard to keep track of who you have and haven't hooked, and can lead to inadvertent tunnelling, especially with multiples of the same survivor. So without it, you get accidental tunnels. Meanwhile actual tunnelling killers will tunnel regardless, and already know who they're going after because they're only focusing on one survivor.
Yeah...but then you only have 3 other survivors. 3 × 3 = 9, you have 9 hook stages before everyone is dead.
-
It use to be okay, but now with so many status effect being permanent until x condition is fulfilled, it lost a lot of its luster. Definitely could use a buff or rework.

I have no issues with any Killers on the Xbox Series X and I don't get any fps drops. There is sometimes glitches but nothing that has altered the outcome of a game for me in recent times.

Well this is what I wanted to talk about it, bring the idea down to earth by eliminating elements that might cause problems and move on from there, with an idea that now works within the boundary's of the game without any worry for factors that prevent it or might prevent it from actually working. To move it from crazy idea to interesting concept since it now has realistic boundaries that make it possible to work within the confines of the game
I guess I can see where you're coming from, and it definitely isn't a bad way to look at it.
-
@CheeseAnton said:
Now now, crazy idea. Lets say some objects left behind from a killer were to remain (like Trapper's traps, or Pig's traps. Because it wouldn't be fair to have that much set up lead to nothing). So now we're Nemesis, and when we leave we leave behind contamination, vaccines, and... Zombies? Then suddenly we're someone else, maybe Ghostface trying to creep people out and get them to run into zombies. Now, if the Queue system allows us to pick who we want could we go Nemesis again? Last theoretical of this theoretical situation, could the killer's assets reset?
My idea, is it possible to get 4 Zombies? Could we go further, could we have around 10 of them? Would this be at all possible?
In the scenario I'm thinking about, objects absolutely remain. Traps, Jigsaw boxes, fountains, zombies, etc. But, stacking objects? I don't think that would make sense, even in this craziness. Also, I think once you play one killer, you wouldn't be able to play them again until you use all your killers. I won't say all killers because not everyone owns every killer.
-
Definitely, I've got a ton of ideas for stuff I'd like to add to the game. Is any of it good? The majority probably not, but that's why their is a team of idea people.

actually they are changing all of the non-licensed legendary outfits to very rare in 5.1.0, legendary is now reserved for outfits that change the character to a licensed one like Leon to Chris.
edit : im dumb i forgot naughty bear IS that...
Technically yes, however Naughty Bear is owned by BHVR, so they would just be using their own license.

@bjorksnas said:
This seems interesting so ill make a list by elimination which killers this wouldn't work for to have as part of this "rotation"
Some killers can't work in a minute so the options will start limited
Trapper
Hag
Oni
Myers
No set up time means killer with little to no power 4/24
Killers that spawn objects to interact with wouldn't work as most of the interactable would have to be there / follow between killers having 6+ things to interact with due to a rotation of killers would be a lot on the map to deal with
Plague (fountains)
Freddy (alarm clocks)
Pig (jigsaw boxes)
Nemesis (vaccine boxes)
Demo (portals) or just don't let him have portals only shred
Twins (victor) playing as victor then switching while being victor halfway across the map would feel bad
10/24 or 9/24
So other than maybe those 9~10 killers the other 14 would work decently in a rotation as their powers are less dependent on other factors the only changes the killers would have to be
Pyramid head torment is removed upon him switching out
Doctor madness removed when he is switched out
Deathslinger survivor is freed from chain when switched out
But if they don't want to deal with those complications then it would be 13/24
so depending on your view point you could have it switch between 11 killers, 14 killers or 15 killers, depending on extra limitations
Who said anything about stuff being removed? Like I said, this is a completely insane idea that would never happen, but whose to say we can't talk about it? Also, yeah, the game has limitations, but in this scenario I say who cares? This just fun for the sake of fun and there isn't enough of it going around at the moment.

@Professor_Fizz said:
I feel like a system like this would just make every killer go in with a lineup of every speed killer in the game, because a lot of the other killers require buildup which is absolutely pointless if you changed killers every minute.
I feel like if you spent your first minute setting up traps as Trapper, you could get a surprise edge. Then, the next minute, a stealthy killer like Ghostface to get a quick down, then go fast and hard with Legion or Plague and Oni in the next minutes, then finish with Cannibal for a solid game.

Trapper & Hag so survivors have to be careful where they go the whole game. Legion & Doctor since you have to snap out of it before you can mend. Oni & Legion for easy blood orbs.
Myers and Ghostface would be terrifying. Although I wonder if it would be fair if another killer could insta-down a survivor Exposed by another killer?

Any killer paired with Doc would be an OP duo because Doc will always be able to constantly reveal survivors locations for the other killer. Imagine Doc with Blight or Nurse. Doesn’t sound fun.

From what I've played of snare Freddy, they seemed to be working, but I'll ask @GeneralV.
And yeah, at least Freddy's add-on's wouldn't ######### him over like Hag, Myers, or Blight.
Oh yeah, Blight would be a really weird. You'd have a lot more time to aim where you want to go, but you better be sure that is where you want to go, because you won't be able to turn yourself at all.
