Funny enough, there's a challenge that dead hard makes super easy. Need to dodge hits as survivor 5 times.
Survivors out here acting like they weren't going to run it regardless of the challenge.

Is Dead Hard/Unbreakable/CoH now a staple in survivor matches?
Spoiler: On bad survivor players, yes.

If it's a casual game, why are all these casual players asking for balance changes?
Strawman argument. Balance and casual aren't mutually exclusive. Sit down.

It's never getting changed. It will single-handedly kill the competitive game.
DBD is a casual game. The entire comp scene is a complete and utter joke.

Blocking is a very important strategy in Dead By Daylight, and this post is not to talk about that.
This post instead talks about Killers using blocking to do things like hold survivors hostage in a corner. (Ie. This video by SpooknJukes at 6:00 https://youtu.be/TyEVLNY6UQQ?t=360)
To resolve this issue, I'd suggest allowing survivors to pass through the killer, similar to how they can after being hit, if they walk into the killer for a period of time such as 10 seconds (a higher amount of time is necessary as to not impede on using the strategy to block routes as a killer, and only apply to these such cases).
This is a rarer occurrence, but still is an issue with the game that I hope could be resolved, as being held hostage in DbD is about the most fun-killing experience you can have in the game.
What is everyone's thoughts on this?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3BBEWK10TVQY/image-2022-03-27-021332.png
Or just report that person, and move on. Instead of gimping a valid strategy just because a very rare few bad apples abuse it.

Part sarcasm, but part comparison. If you're going to slow the killers objective down because they're near it, why not survivors?
The punchline is: The idea makes no sense.

maybe not stopped, but just slowed down?
Can we also slow down gens while survivors are near them?
-
Camping isn't an issue. It's an intended strategy.
-
I've never been able to pinpoint a time when I've lost purely because of CoH.
Dead Hard on the other hand? I've lost games purely because a survivor pressed a button to get a free health state they shouldn't have gotten, or distance they shouldn't have gotten, to make it to a pallet they never should have made it to, after I outplayed them, and lost multiple gens because of that Dead Hard.
If you're losing games purely because of CoH - it's you. Not CoH.

@JimbusCrimbus just sounds funny tbh.

FNAF.
-
Camping is intended. It was even illustrated as the intended strategy in the original DBD "How to Play Killer" videos that were included originally with the base game, before the playable tutorial was implemented.
When killers are camping, they are not taking the game hostage. They are not cheating. They are not abusing anything. It's not the killers job for survivors to have fun. It's the killers job to kill you. Let me know when survivors stop running Dead Hard/Unbreakable, or don't break my devour totem immediately at the start of the game just so I can have more fun.
Spoiler: Will never happen.

Just had a Trickster facecamp someone to death using the "Hexy strat" at the start of the match pretty much (All jokes aside it's funny to call it that) but yeah him and Bubbha are slowly becoming issues tricker can just spam his blades and get a down so quick and bubbha is just instant hopefully the prototype makes it into the game because ngl it's time to address this comp playstyle honestly.
Can we also have something to address the insta pallet drop comp playstyle meta? Cause a lot of the time, that's literally WHY I camp, if I so choose to camp.

Dead hard was never buffed though.
They literally added validation for it. Effectively making it the best perk in the game. That's a direct buff.
-
Did Dead Hard really need to be buffed? Did survivors really need boon totems?
My answer to both is no. Your answers to your questions are incorrect.
-
@fengminenjoyer said:
Dead hard is really easy to predict, survivors are usually very obvious about having it so its really not a problem at all unless you dont pay attention or get impatient, the boon i was expecting to be a lot more annoying given how much people complain about it when i got back into playing a couple months ago but as usual, it was an exaggeration cause so far i havent had a single killer game where the boon messed up my match.
At this point people just complain cause others complain and it makes it seem like a bigger deal than it is.
You can predict it all you want. Even if you know it's coming, when used purely for distance, there's nothing you can do.

DH is super stupid but will not kill killer's fun, CoH on the other hand, disables one playstyle and can remove fun.

So all of us know the feeling of opening the exit gate after you did 3 gens healed 2 teammates and looked the killer for the other 2 gens. It's gonna be a 0k. You are all happy til the killer who didn't get a single hook one shots you and spowncapmes. While everyone gets out on the other side of the map. So should behavior make noed be a reward like devour hope is.
All killers know the feeling of chasing a survivor, and knowing you outplayed them and are about to get the down you deserve...just for them to Dead Hard for distance to a pallet or vault, extending and resetting the chase, while 2 gens get done in the background, only because of a Dead Hard. Dead Hard, when used for distance, has no counter
But yes, let's nerf NOED, the most counterable perk in the game, because survivors are too lazy to destroy totems, and too insecure without their second chances to run perks to help them find/destroy said totems.

I hate Dead Hard and COH, unbreakable is... ok I guess, although it's arguably the best perk in the game (after dead hard) it's situational enough that most survivors can't bring it when they actually need it. COH though, that perk makes me want to ball up and return to the primordial soup.
It's situational, yes. But when used, it is, more times than not, game changing.

And of course, Circle of Healing suddenly stops working.
I actually never had an issue with CoH. Unlike most killers, I can't recall a single time I've lost solely because of CoH.
Dead Hard and Unbreakable on the other hand...

My bets are on a reverse ruin. It counters ruin completely with it's power, but if the killer doesn't have ruin, the gen closest to it just does itself.
It seems crazy, doesn't it? But think to yourself "This is BHVR"...and it won't seem so crazy.

Your post history is way to biased for a meaningful conversation. Good day to you sir.
That looks like a "I have no retort, therefore I will pretend I have some sort of moral high ground to save face because I cannot defeat you in a debate" response.
Either way - Camping only works if survivors allow it to work. Stop making it worthwhile for killers, and killers will stop doing it for the most part.
Also, we should fix the gen camping issue survivors have. Those nerds, always camping their objectives. Imagine.
-
Okay. Remove the camera switch. But also remove the ability to remove traps with a flashlight.
-
In theory, having used blueprint for a good portion of my unreal development career, it's not hard.
But this is BHVR. If they do this, they'll probably break something, or everything. But instead of telling us the truth, they BHVRsplain it away as "nah that's too hard and wouldn't help" or something of the sort.

honestly its a joke takes 10 minutes to find a survivor game and it takes 5 sec to find a game as killer I WONDER WHY!?!?
do something about killers 80% of the killers are unplayable due to ######### reworks and just a vad overall experience as a killer, i mean i play killer like 95% of my games and im truly enjoying it but since i play most of the killers i also notice that most of them are just pure trash.... the only real enjoyable killers are the weak once which you need to sweat your balls off to play and actually win with...
So maybe take care of the few killers that are left :)
When they start making killer fun to play.
Killer right now is straight up unrewarding. There's only so many times someone can put up with outplaying a survivor just so they can bail themselves out, for free, with a perk. All that as killers watch survivors complain about things like Pain Resonance/Dead Man's Switch saying they should get nerfed (and likely will, because killer things are nerfed in RAPID succession compared to busted survivor things), despite it having the fairly steep earning requirement of actually having to be competent at getting downs to get any value.
Killer is unrewarding, and killers are treated as second class. Survivors bust out the old quadruple condom build full of second chances so they don't bust too soon, and it's all good because "they're just trying to survive", but if a killer brings a loadout of gen delay, they're trash talked, told they're trash, and told to off themselves.
When that ######### stops, you'll have tolerable queue times.
-
They didn't cleanse totems really even before that.

NOED is bad design. Perks should not reward bad plays. Before i get what aboutism, yeah survivors have Dead Hard and it needs to go as well.
Dead Hard is far more powerful than NOED.

Nothing. NOED isn't unfair. It has the most effective counter in the game.

I'd also like to see the end game screen, so we can see offerings, builds etc.
This? It's not only without context, it looks like the context has been intentionally removed to make the killer look bad.

Posting perfectly reasonable counters isn't allowed here. Survivors want everything handed to them. Hence: Dead Hard. Move along.

Wouldn't this perk prevent all survivors that would otherwise be hit out to be stuck? I personally already dislike the fact that Pinhead and The Twins can prevent survivors escaping with a mini bloodwarden so am against this idea. If you really want to stop DS at end game I suggest downing the survivor early and perhaps bringing Knock Out to make them move slower.
I know people are spouting "blood warden", but honestly, it's not a bad idea. Would be a good nerf to blood warden, and entice survivors to *just effing leave* instead of waiting for the killer to simply watch them leave.

Hey there,
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.
I have just received word that the 6,000 Iridescent Shard compensation for the removal of The Cannibal's unlockable masks has been sent out to all players who had played as The Cannibal at least once before the Mid-Chapter update on January 26th, 2022. If you are currently in-game you may need to restart Dead by Daylight for the change to your Iridescent Shard count to take affect.
If you have any further questions, or have not yet received your Iridescent Shards, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us - we're always happy to help!
See you in The Fog,
The Dead by Daylight Team
However I still havent received the shards, so obviously this hasnt worked. Ive already sent an email back so its definitely a WIP
Same as you, from the same "person", with the response reminiscent of a robot.

No, whataboutism is absolutely a thing.
Basically, you raise a 'whatabout' to sidetrack the argument with another issue.
Also: there is no such thing as a fake word :).
Regardless of fake words or not, it's still something adopted by the DBD community to suppress counter arguments. Literally adopted by survivor mains to piss and moan about everything killers have that they don't want to adapt to without ever being able to be told "I mean, you have all this ######### that's 10x more powerful than what you're whining about", which is a VALID critique of their own argument.
TL;DR - "whataboutism" as a protection doesn't exist. Stop using it. It doesn't apply here.

Why? Because pure killer mains are in great majority on these forums? Truth does not need to be supported by the masses to be true. I didn't even mean to argue with anyone, I just stated an obvious contradiction in the way some people think. It's up to them if they take this contradiction into account, either way the point is proven.
No. Because you're wrong, and intellectually, you'll be destroyed.

- Oh no, that Bubba is facecamping our teammate, what can we do?!
- Jeez, are you new? Just slam 'em gens and begone, what else can you do!
- Oh no, that Bubba has NOED!
- Jeez, are you new? That was your fault for slamming 'em gens, you should've vacuum cleaned the whole map in search of all 5 totems instead of rushing gens, obviously! Oh, survivors these days...
I wouldn't go down that road. That's an argument you'll lose.
-
Killers have one real, unearned second chance perk. NOED.
Survivors have dozens.
NOED is more counterable than any survivor perk in the game. In fact, being that it can be removed before it even activates, with perks/items to facilitate it's removal, I'd say it may be the MOST counterable perk in the game.
But yes, because we're lazy/want to AFK on gens, let's nerf NOED.

They have never said that btw. They don’t like facecamping, but proxycamping and tunneling have never been a problem.
It’s the opposite, the new dead man switch makes it way easier to tunnel. And tunneling is mandatory if you want to have a chance at high mmr because there is no way you can win a game doing 12 hooks while preventing them to do 5 gen against very good survivors. That’s 1 hook in less than half a gen against 4 survivors. It’s impossible. Anyone at high mmr knows that, killer or survivor.
Face camping doesn't exist anymore. It hasn't since back in the day.
People call any camping face camping now. They would be incorrect.
-
All the "but killers do it too!" is nonsense. In my over 8000 hours, most of it survivor, I can count the amount of times I've been told monkaW things, or harassed by a killer on literally less than 2 hands.
Survivors? I'd need 10,000 hands.
The scale is way off balance and "but killers do it too" is a nonsensical argument. Period.
