I purchased Bubba in 2018 and had all the masks. No shards.
It is now almost 5pm EST. I live in Montreal.
@MandyTalk Can I come to the office and be compensated in cheese curds?
-
Interestingly enough, I still have not received my 6k shards. And I've probably got 1000 hours in Bubba alone.

This happens on both sides.
Nobody said it didn't. Your argument is invalid.
-
Killers aren't desperate. They're sick and tired of survivors calling everything we do "lazy gameplay" when all survivors do is run second chance after second chance. So we just play purely to win, and if you don't like it, tough noogies.
-
If BHVR wants to fix this, they need to bring some hard nerfs down the pipeline to survivor second chances.
When that day comes, I will row my canoe through the rapids of survivor tears as they flow like the rivers of ancient babylon.
-
What do I think?
The word "colonoscopy" comes to mind. That's the smell that permeates my brain when I think of the tome. Take that how you will.

You're a man after my own heart. I may want both sides of the meta nerfed to make this game healthy, but I get a visceral pleasure from slugging someone who was clearly looking to make a Boil Over play.
######### I'm not going to fall for, for $500, Alex.
Forgot to mention. Out of the 115 I've bled out, and almost all confirmed to have Boil Over/Flip Flop, I've been "reported" 28 times for "taking the game hostage".
-
I'm up to 115 survivors I've bled out so far. Because of Boil Over/Flip Flop.
Soon, they'll be trained.
-
My thoughts on the new boil over is I bled out almost 40 survivors tonight.
-
BHVR: "Killers are leaving the game in mass and survivor queue times are the longest they have been in years because of it. Better nerf Pig again."

Why do you keep defending griefing just because its survivors who are doing it ?
This person used to say DS was fine back in the day as well. Pay no mind to them.
-
We know what happens when BHVR has to do things manually.
Soon™ -
Every time a map offering that isn't Macmillan or Autohaven is played, my game crashes. For literally no reason. Must be covid.
-
People saying "nothing" are largely clueless. Buffing solo queue to SWF level is something that NEEDS to happen, for sure. But in doing that, giving them all that info, you're also giving them a bunch of info perks as base kit, essentially.
Killers will largely need a buff across the board, and big maps made smaller.

So basically, even though it's already been illustrated that there is one map that has an area in which Boil Over flat out makes you unhookable no matter what, and several more where any combination of Breakout, weird hook spawns, petrified oak, sabotage, great wiggle skill checks, and even a single swing's worth of bodyblocking will make you unhookable too.
That's an issue with a map, not with the perk.
I understand that people are afraid the perk will be abused, however if that's the case it's going to be easier to see this kind of results on a bigger scale than the PTB.
Again, I'm not saying you are wrong or that it cannot be an issue whatsoever, I'm just trying to see the thought process behind it.
Isn't this literally why the killswitch exists?
Or is it okay for survivors to literally exploit our gameplay?

I wish they revert NOED to its OG state to give survivors a real reason to complain.
This.

@liquidlight said:
They just need two types of modes: Casual, where there are no ranks at all, and Ranked, where there are ranks. That would solve a lot of issues, I think.
But really, I don't think they're that concerned with the top players. The point is to bring in new people and get them playing long enough to buy some things. As long as they can satisfy the fresh blood and keep them playing for a while, or get them hooked since the game can be addicting, then that's what matters. If they have things that will scare away new players then they lose money. Money is the end game for the creators. Not our feelings.
Edit: For the record, I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing. Anyone who has created something would want to make money from it. That's sort of the point in the majority of cases.
Ranked and unranked has always been a silly idea for DBD.

How often do you even play as a soloQ survivor? How many soloQ games have you played within the last week?
Probably about 30. If that's your argument, my guy, I've got over 8200 hours in this game. SoloQ is the majority of my survivor gameplay. Stand down.

I've never lost a game to a CoH. But I've won a ton of games with NOED. The same goes for when I play as a survivor, just the other way around. I don't know how biased one has to be to believe NOED is weaker than CoH, when the reality is dramatically opposite.
I've never lost a game to NOED without it being my own fault.

Oh jesus.

Nope, I just used the same logic that guy used to justify CoH being called stronger than NOED.
That's because it is. Hell, it even cancels NOED if it's on the only totem that's left on the map.

You can use Monstrous Shrine infinitely.
DS and UB sometimes won't even activate.
DS technically always activates. Unless you don't get hooked.
Also KEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKW comparing MONSTROUS SHRINE TO COH.
You're a legendary comedian.

I saw the thread title and expected to look at the OP and see the name "Sluzzy".
Imagine my surprise when I realized that nope, someone actually compared NOED, a mediocre and extremely counterable perk, to CoH.

How am I defending NOED?
I'll defend NOED. It's a balanced perk that has a plethora of counters in the form of perks, items, and just general game knowledge. Perks, I might add, that survivors choose not to use in order to make use of their second chance builds as if they need to wear 4 condoms for maximum protection.
-
No change. I tunneled and camped at my leisure before SBMM.

@KolbyKolbyKolby said:
It's because it rewards bad gameplay, and people ABSOLUTELY do complain about that on survivors as well. In fact, search "dh" or "dead hard" and you'll see an endless amount of topics talking about how it rewards getting hit and requiring no skill. NOED complaints are just the same thing from the other side. It feels bad to lose because you one and someone was rewarded for your victory.
Dead Hard rewards bad gameplay. Unbreakable rewards bad gameplay. As does Soul Guard. Decisive to an extent as well. NOED is far more counterable than any of those.

If you’re playing killer and you’re playing in a scummy way such as shaking you head no, hitting on hook, camping the whole game, tunneling one person the entire match, and slugging to death, why do you get mad if survivors manage to get the gates open and teabag you? I understand the killers that play normally and still get teabagged, that’s understandable… but to the others (which is about 70% of the killer players), why? You kinda deserve it.
It's not "scummy" just because you don't like it. Get that right.
It's part of the game. By that logic, you doing anything to progress your objective, or stop the killer from catching you is scummy. Stop being scummy.

Yeah. Maybe not do any Q&As at all since the DBD-Community is ######### and does not appreciate it anyway.
It's not that we don't appreciate it. They just cherry pick the easiest to answer questions, and even then, we get non answers most of the time. "We don't have any data on that yet". Or "we have the data but nothing to share yet" etc. Like, there's not even a point. It's like watching a political candidate speak. They heavily filter questions to best make themselves look good.

NOTES
Not going to bother listing perks that showed up 1 time or less. Maybe in the future, I can do this better and actually include that just for the context.
What I found interesting about this is. Killers simply aren't using many perks at all. Only NINE perks in double digits.
By far the most popular killer build is POP, CORRUPT, SCOURGE PR, BBQ
I was expecting to see Corrupt in 75% of matches. Interesting to me that it isn't as much as I feel like it is. Meanwhile, BBQ showed up in more than half of all matches. The grind is real. I can't bring myself to play killer without BBQ either.
Let me know if this is interesting and I should keep tracking it. I have been tracking survivor escape rates and tomorrow I should post the results of 500 matches. Should I keep tracking the killer perks though?
Now compare that to 100 matches of survivor perks, and see if they have even that much variety.

The stuff that you said should be bannable offenses but what you’re missing in is that survivors and killers should be reported for it, not just survivors.
The issue with that is, after 8000 hours in this game, it's far more common coming from survivors in my experience.

it works the way it was always meant to.
the server decides whether you hit or not, so you don't get free hits anymore. the animation is just a visual bug with no impact on the game.
every hit should work like that.
you wanna blame someone, blame your internet provider.
Instead, survivors just get a free health state/recovery from a mistake. Seems fair.

Yeah, no. Old Undying had counters. Dead Hard, when used for distance, to this day, still does not.

Eh. Getting hit is not a failure, it's something that is going to happen- the game has two separate mechanics to make sure that the most skilled survivor in the world can't literally loop the killer forever.
It is definitely a second chance perk, but if you couldn't use it for distance it'd be much more balanced since you can absolutely bait it out.
If you got hit, you got outplayed. That's called failing.

BHVR spent money and worker time on this. If they scrap it now - they will basically say they have wasted 2 years fruitlessly (on "implementing" this "feature"), which will greatly displease the investors. So the completely failed, misimplemented and generally hated MMR system is here to stay for good.
If they spent two years on something that literally only categorizes you based on escapes for survivor and kills for killer, which is the most arbitrary and simply metric possible, I have to question their competence even more.
-
@jesterkind said:

You can't bait out a DH for distance, which is what I'd peg as the problem. DH to dodge a hit is a fair and balanced effect, but it has that strong effect AND the ability to just reach a loop you otherwise wouldn't have, which combine to make it far too strong.
I'd peg every aspect of dead hard as a problem. It's a perk designed to only be usable after screwing up and getting hit, and then only be used to recover from a mistake. It's like a reward for two failures. Unhealthy.
-
@cburton311 said:
Dead hard is fine, learn to bait it out. Literally, B tier perk.
Explain to me how one "baits out" a Dead Hard when used for distance?
-
@emetSdidnothingwrong said:
I believe they are aware of how strong the perk is and I also believe they are perfectly fine with it, the best they will do is adjust the feedback given to the killer when getting "validated" which will likely be visual only and not actually nerf the perk in any way. They even said it themselves, they balance this game around the 1v1 so yeah, might as well not stress out about it and just find a different game.
No, the best thing they could do is balance the perk. Under no circumstances should you get a free 3rd health state as a reward for failure.
-
Just make it so they need to be on the gen for as long as the killer kick animation is to stop regression. That's what...3 seconds?
No more tapping in chase with no consequences.
-
@Sluzzy said:
Why should it be? It's a decent perk at best. You have many killers that don't even care it exists (Bubba). Wait it out if you are worried about DH.
Okay there, Dane Cook.
-
The real entertainment is survivors who think killers are supposed to follow their book full of arbitrary rules that don't really exist...and when you don't follow their rules, you're literally worse than that guy who started the holocaust. According to survivors.
-
Trapper.
-

I don't care what addons you have, and what perks you have, if you 4k survivors in 50 seconds, the survivors were dog water. Period, end of story.

Just because something's counter able it still doesn't detract from the fact it's a second chance perk, though?
NOED is the biggest second chance perk in the game alongside DH. Survivor's don't cleanse as many dull totems anymore due to Boon totems, so 99% of the time NoED still ends up activating at the end of the game.
Sure, it has a counter as it can be cleansed once it's active, but that doesn't take into consideration solo queue where survivors have no organization or communication with each other. I play solo a lot and by the time someone's cleansed NoED the killer has already had at least some use out of it, even if that's only one or two free downs. Solo queue is a hard enough experience as it is, and I've seen countless times a solo-queue lobby get obliterated by NoED because it unfairly punishes them.
It depends on what your definition of 'second chance' is, I guess? But I would define it as something that requires little-to-no prerequisites yet can massively impact gameplay in your favour. Both DH and NoED fit under that category - DH allows you to take a hit with no consequences and potentially extend a chase; NoED will activate even if a killer is AFK for the whole game and allow free insta-downs.
I never said it wasn't a second chance perk. I merely pointed out that it was counterable. It has actual, fundamental, and rock solid counterplay. Dead Hard does not.

yea but then if there’s just one survivor, and the hatch is closed, it’s literally impossible for killer to lose under any circumstances unless he does so on purpose
That sounds more like an issue of gate spawns. Either way, if there's just one survivor left and the hatch is closed, the odds SHOULD be overwhelmingly in favor of the killer.
-
Just. Add. Door. Regression.
There's no better solution.
