I’m more tired of how many BHVR release. They clearly found the formula they think is good design even though it’s unfun for both sides
That’s not going to stop me from maining clown though
"anti loop killers are unfun for both sides"
No, they're unfun for survivors.
That's like me saying "dead hard is unfun for both sides". No, it's unfun for killers.

That .2 seconds actually means far more in a real gameplay situation than you might believe.

Only 3 were nerfed. Wraith, Spirit and Slinger. The rest were all buffs
Only one of those needed a full on "nerf". Wraith was never OP, and they just...castrated Slinger. Their solution to making slinger more "fair" was to make sure there's a limit to how good the player can actually be with him.

Tell me you get viciously looped without telling me you get viciously looked
Dead Hard users out here with their push-button free 3rd health state acting like they're "viciously looping" anyone.
Top KEK.

Hard to say as killer. Every killer has a build that "works" for them, but wouldn't "work" on other killers. Should, you could just run slowdowns and do generally well..but why?
As survivor: Iron Will (cause I main Bill), WGLF, Spine Chill, Botany
I don't run exhaustion or second chances because I'm actually good at the video game.
-
@Demogorgeouse said:
The build is spinechill, resilience, dead hard, and ds.
its really helpful, espicially when its endgame and your teammates need to get a hit taken. DS and dead hard make you practically invincible
Looping and running Dead Hard are two completely different things. You did nothing impressive by pressing a button to get to the next pallet/vault, or when you screwed up at a loop.
-
I never understood killers to run little to no slowdowns as some "noble duty" to allow survivors to have fun. Show me a survivor who's going to not run their meta for the sake of the killers fun. Now THAT'S an endangered species right there. Nor should they not run the best #########. Neither should you. There's no reason not to.
-
Literally only All Seeing need changes. Silent Bell is fine. If you're still getting chiefed by silent bell Wraith's after you know they have it, it's a you proiblem.

I could go play 10 games right now, and tunnel every single game.
Out of 10 of those games, at least 8 of them will give me more than one survivor calling me scummy or worse.
"Few care."

Sounds like some people don't have any desire to fix tunneling or camping in this game because what can fix something simply "doesn't work"
The fix to tunneling and camping is for people to stop A) Taking the game so seriously, and B) feeling entitled to a chance to escape.
It's a game. There's clear cut, black and white objectives for each side. Killers are supposed to kill survivors. Survivors are supposed to escape before that happens.
Placing nonsensical restrictions on either one of those is stupid, and based in entitlement.
-
@Clevite said:

Survivors are whiny. They refuse to adapt to anything, so they just kermit sewerside when there's a killer that doesn't follow the "hold w, run in circles" meta to a T.

What an easy fix, too... reduced bloodpoint penalty for chasing/hitting/hooking the same target
You can't punish killers for doing their objective.
That's like saying "bloodpoint penalty for survivors working on more than one generator at a time". It doesn't compute.
@dspaceman20 said:
I agree there is nothing wrong with tunneling. It's a legitimate strategy killer can and should use to help them. But I would also argue there is nothing wrong with the survivors taking steps and perks to help against tunneling.
I don't disagree, but that has nothing to do with this thread. The fact that tunneling is looked at as some grand scummy tactic, and people will judge a person, AS a person, based on how they played a video game, is insane. That's the point of this thread. You're not scummy for tunneling. If you tunneled, you did nothing wrong.

Here comes the page-long arguments about how you're wrong or how you're right and how he/she is bad and then there's those other guys that come in and say it's part of the game and everyone needs to stop whining and yadda yadda yadda....
The idea is to spark conversation. Could just prove to be a theory, though. I stand by what I said, however. Tunneling is fine. There's nothing wrong, or immoral about it in any way.

@ShakeyGames said:
Never go for the unhooked person who got saved right in front of you. Literally just ignore them.
I have played so many matches of killer where I ignore the unhooked survivor, that it is now built into my brain like waiting out Dead Hard. It ends in wins that feel better and make you proud of yourself, and survivors that genuinely had a fun time playing with you.
If you tunnel and then say that you can't win without tunnelling, then that's just an indicator of how bad your skill is.
Yes, it makes the game more challenging, but who wants easy games everytime? And you DON'T have to win every match you play! Sometimes, I have more fun in the matches that I lose because the survivors looped me well and I actually had to try in order to get some hooks.
What makes me so angry is that in the rare occasions I do play survivor, I am almost always tunnelled. Once, I got unhooked and the ghostface immediately went for me, smacked me, hooked me again. I got unhooked in front of him later, he smacked me, hooked me again, and I was out. No other survivor was hooked, I didn't do anything in the match.
I couldn't even loop him, didn't have a chance to get into a chase. He downed me as soon as I was done with the unhooked animation. All I did was stare at the screen and hit the struggle skill checks on hook, all game.
You're suggesting I reward the stupid, cocky plays of survivors running every second chance in the book regardless of how I play, simultaneously putting myself at an intentional disadvantage and not doing my objective the most efficient way possible?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2weNM4JtME -
You mean you have to use your brain at a loop and try not to make mistakes/be outplayed instead of just being mindless and relying on your free health state?
Oh the horror!
Wouldn't want survivors to have to think or anything.
-
The whole "people use stretched res cause it's not optimized to run at 1080p" argument is nonsense. They use it for an advantage.

Apparently how you win does matter.
You're trying really hard, but you're out of your depth. Take a knee, bud.
-
@Piruluk said:
Killers usually takes advantage of that.
You should play accordingly and bully the killer whenever u can, there should be no pity towards killers, they are tryhard, and wants to 4k everytime, if one game lost out of 100, they come and demand even more nerf to survivors
You're leaving out one important detail - killers are only like this because they've constantly been told "whatever survivors do is fine, but if killers try to win in a way survivors don't approve of, they are toxic."
Maybe if killers weren't shamed for literally everything they do, you'd have a lot less tryhards.
Or MAYBE, each side has their objective. It's pretty black and white what their objectives are, and the only rule is don't cheat/exploit, as per the developers. Maybe, just maybe, people need to tuck their delicate sensibities away and play the video game.

Well, that simply answers my question. Getting emotional and being unable to take a look at the underlying content.
How you try to Survive, how you try to Kill, matters. People can get emotional easily, case in point your response. At the very least they should have an outlet, in terms of gameplay, they should have some form of agency. Killers for the most part have had this addressed for their most glaring issues: EGC and the ability to Open the Exit Gates.
Currently, the most glaring case of a non-interactive negative experience is team slugging. Well, and Facecamp Bubba, but that's Killer specific.
No, how you win doesn't matter, as long as it's per the rules of the game. Not the artificial, one-sided rules of the community. The only issue here is peoples delicate sensibilities and entitlement. Period, end of story.

Don't be obtuse and disingenuous. Most survivor perks aren't made to counter another perk. They may counter abilities that may also counter a perk but it's very rare that one perk is made specifically to counter another perk.
Iron will was literally just changed to counter Stridor. It was the entire purpose of the change. WDYM.

While it sucks, and after 7.5k hours (mostly survivor, I should add), I've been there, killers are not your babysitter. They exist to kill you.

We all know due to the DC penalty being removed that a lot of players have been dcing for the dumbest reason’s.
when this happens it is usually not the fault of the team members and the team members suffer the consequences of having one less teammate to do work which makes the game highly unbalanced.
killers please show some mercy for survivors who are let down by other dcing teammates.
Why? I'd personally just rather end the game as quick as possible and move on next. The entitlement of "my teammate DC'd,. you should be nice now" is silly. Get over yourself.

I don't want it to be abuseable from a sportsmanship/balance standpoint, rather to actually make it a point for Killers to Hook Survivors in a relatively timely manner, but ask yourself why you care if it's used to deny a Killer from Kills. Are your fee-fees hurt when you don't do well? Like when a Survivor uses Hatch? Or the old pre-EGC Exit t-bags? Killer Players are not the only ones with feelings. And while the Characters are supposed to feel hopeless and powerless, that's not the case for the Players, who are looking for a fun Horror themed experience.
My "fee fees"? I would have continued to engage if you weren't acting like a 10 year old on TikTok, oof.
"My fee fees". This is just more "it's only okay if survivors try to survive, but if a killer tries to win, it's unacceptable".

So is Disconnecting. If a Player's connection fails, they leave the game. That's part of the game.
But, that's considered unsporting, and is punished.
Why? Does it ruin the experience for people?
As for Ideas:
Slugging: Faster Bleedout while nearby a Hook. probably x2. And remove Wiggle decay. (Also, basekit Unbreakable after 60s or so)
Camping and Tunneling are still crucial parts of the game as loss mechanisms, but a Killer should be rewarded for choosing not to do so while they have control. Give the Killer the basekit ability to Mori a DeathHook Survivor if they've chained enough Hooks without the previous Survivor being the last Survivor to be Hooked (Tunneling).
He said ideas that can't be abused by survivors. Removing wiggle decay is EASILY abusable.
Slugging is part of the game. If you don't like it, play another game. Something more suitable to your tastes. Like Minecraft on peaceful mode.

Perks aren't designed to have counters, that's a stupid argument. Open Handed, Plunder's Instinct, Lithe, Balanced Landing, Tinkerer, etc, etc.
Dead Hard is not a "reward for failure", that's another absurd argument. You can use it while injured is much different than needing to be hit to use it. No Mither and For the People want a word with you.
So many survivor perks counter killer perks, but the second a survivor perk doesn't have a counter..."perks aren't designed to have counters".
Seems legit.
Except many of them are, and by design.
Sit down.

@GoshJosh said:
It’s a bogus perk with no counter play or feedback, punishes a survivor for simply trying to use an item for its intended purpose. There’s no other perk like it in the game, should be nerfed/reworked.

Sounds a lot like Dead Hard. Or Unbreakable.

Yes, they can, because there is no hard counter to Dead Hard.
- Mindbreaker and Huntress Venom are short enough that they can be walked off mid-chase.
- Blood Echo requires (1) you to hook somebody and (2) for others to be injured. If the person you're trying to hook has Dead Hard, Blood Echo won't stop it. If other people keep themselves healed, Blood Echo does nothing to them.
To add to that - Dead Hard requires you to be hit. It's a reward for failure.

No "just do bones" does not work 100% of the time in fact it works almost never. I constantly get into games where it's so close that there's no way 3 other random guys can do 5 totems with no communication and no totem counter. It would waste so much time to the point where close games would end up in a killer win because you spent the entirety of the game just doing totems which you have no idea if the killer even has NOED or not. It's all based on this chance that they have NOED and even then it's extremely unreasonable to have to do every single totem with randoms.
So you're telling me if you destroy all 5 totems, the killer will still have NOED?
Gotcha. That must be a new bug.

@gendoss said:

I say "run Blood Echo" because every killer says either "do bones" or "run small game". It's the exact same stupid argument but if you can't beat em then join em.
I mean, at their core they aren't "stupid arguments".
The issue with "just run blood echo" is, it's very situational. "Just do bones" just works 100% of the time.
-
@gendoss said:
There are already counters to exhaustion in this game but you just don't want to use them. If you are really getting frustrated by exhaustion perks then Blood Echo and Mindbreaker are your friend. Oh but of course you shouldn't have to change up your play style to meet others, that's too much work.
How come "just do bones" isn't a solution against NOED, and wasn't a solution against old Undying...but somehow "run blood echo" is a solution against exhaustion?
-
@ill_Boston_lli said:
I just went into a match as Wraith with Haunted Undying Dhope and Retribution and I didn't even have a chance to get two stack on Dhope and they all dcd. I normally don't enjoy going against wraith but that is because I personally Do not like his playstyle. But there are some things in this game you are not always going to agree with and other people have their right to disagree. But to DC on Temple against wraith with 0 Gen defense is silly
So what happened was, a certain popular survivor streamer started whining that "Wraith is the new freddy" and "he's not wholesome anymore".
So the sheep followed and simply use it as an excuse.
I'm sorry, but if a group of survivors, even solos, is getting chiefed on by a WRAITH of all killers, even with his buffs, they may as well uninstall.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
Okay, so? Ruin, pop, tinkerer, NOED are also crutch perks. Are you complaining about them?
Dead Hard - an exhaustion perk that gives you free distance and iframes for...what? What did you do to earn it exactly? Literally nothing. In fact, you might even call it a reward for failure.
Ruin and Tinkerer? Fair enough, which is why I don't use the two together (I actually never use ruin or any hex perk, not a fan of them), but even THOSE have to have their value earned from them more than dead hard does.
Pop? You quite literally have to earn even the chance to use it. By hitting a survivor twice and hooking them. No comparison here.
NOED? You could make an argument for this, but NOED is a second chance. Killers don't have a lot of unearned second chances. NOED might be the only one. The entire survivor meta is unearned second chances aside from things like Smash Hit and Deliverance. NOED has a huge downside in that it can disappear before it ever gets any use, though.
If we're going to start comparing perks on either side, it's not going to go well for you.
At the end of the day, it may be an inconvenient truth, and survivors fear of not actually being as good as they think they are plays a huge rule here, but things like Dead Hard, and most exhaustion perks in general, are unhealthy for the game in the same way Bloodlust is (which needs to go as well, btw). Exhaustion perks are quite literally survivor slowdowns. But with even less earning requirement.
-
@gendoss said:
NOED.
You mean that perk that can be removed before it ever procs? With now like 3 different perks, as well as maps, to assist with it's removal?

Survivors doing gens is an objective.
Tunneling and other toxic behavior isn't an objective. It's a chosen tactic used by toxic Killer players to obtain their objective - hooks/sacrifices. Understand the difference. If you wanted to compare, you should have said "gen-rushing" because, like tunneling, it's a tactic.
Killing survivors is an objective. Last time I checked, there was no rule to gatekeep how that objective is achieved.
Tunneling isn't toxic. It's a legitimate strategy. You not liking something doesn't make it toxic. It makes you toxic for thinking you're entitled to be allowed to reset over and over.
-
Survivors doing gens is worse than ever! Stop defending it!

Why are survivors allowed to do generators?

Dead Hard is a perfectly fair and balanced perk. Survivors who make effective use of such a high-skill perk should be rewarded. The perk provides the survivor with a few frames of invincibility, bypassing a bear trap is fair and abides by the perk. Dead Hard is easily accounted for by the killer and experienced Trappers who know a survivor has Dead Hard can effortlessly play around it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2285142#Comment_2285142
Sprint Burst definitely will be more useful and effective for the average survivor than Dead Hard. Dead Hard is too high skill of a perk, too unreliable for most survivors to get value out of. Even the most experienced Dead Hard users will find that many killers can account for it, bait it out and anticipate its usage. The perk is fair and balanced.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2284934#Comment_2284934
Trapper's Basement is a death sentence for any survivor not running Dead Hard or Decisive. In a situation such as this, Dead Hard can mean the difference between life or death.
"Perfectly fair and balanced perk". Free distance and iframes at the press of a button when the killer outplayed you, or even more busted, for distance when there's nothing the killer could have done about it. All as a reward for failure, because you need to get hit to use it.
Fair and balanced, sure. That's what people who crutch on it say. Get better at the video game.
-
Ahhh yes. "Nerf" instead of "adapt".
But if a killer complains about anything, it's "just adapt".
-
@indieeden7 said:
Seeing as it works against any attack, special or basic, I'd argue that it would make sense.
Trapper definitely needs buffed but I really don't think making his traps more of an inconvenience than they already are is the way to do that. He really just needs help achieving a good setup in the early game.
Almost correct. Victor seems to be immune to Dead Hard from what I see. So theoretically, it should be possible.
And disabling dead hard over traps isn't an inconvenience. It's common sense. There's no reason you should be able to just ignore the trap that exists.
-
Spine Chill range should be lower. It's currently 36m, which is larger than literally any terror radius in the game aside from those affected by addons/M&A.
It should also have a drastically decreased detection on undetectable killers.

Umm I'm running, burrowed time, dead hard, detectives hunch and spine chill. I'm going for an overall build ish? I can dip out with dead hard if I need to. Save a teammate with burrowed time in a pinch. Detectives hunch is good for getting those pesky totems and overall map awareness. And of course spine chill for trying to predict killers movements. Thoughts?
Take a look at your build. Spine Chill and Dead Hard - those take a lot of the "skill" and "thought" out of playing survivor.
I'm not saying Spirit is fair, she's not. But it's a bit hypocritical of you to assume ones skill for playing Spirit when you're running those. Now, it's a good build. Don't get me wrong. Absolutely run them. I'm just speaking from the standpoint of someone with 6500 hours.

For example when you have a survivor who just runs up to you and points at you to hook them. Like if they don't like the killer you are playing such as twins. Were they want out of the match, do you down them and hook them. Or ignore them?
If they run up to me wanting to die, they get slugged, and I simply walk away. Play the game or DC and take the 5. Those are your options.
Survivors don't want to face any killer that takes actual thought to play against. Hence, all the whining about Wraith all of a sudden.
