Should Smash hit be buffed?
Smash hit is a perk that everyone has suggested for a long time so you get a sprint burst when using pallets but does it need a buff?
I say yes because even though you get 4 seconds of haste it’s kinda outclassed by lithe and sprint burst cause you can easily manipulate the boosts this one you have to stun them so here’s how I would change it
When you throw down a pallet break into a sprint at 150% speed for 2 seconds. If you stun the killer with a pallet break into a sprint for 150% speed for 4 seconds. Causes exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds

Given how unsafe most pallets are and how they're limited supply, I think it could retain the 4 seconds with your changes and still be fine
Smash Hit completely and utterly ends a chase unless the killer has Spirit Fury/Enduring or wants to throw the trial, I feel like that's a perfectly acceptable level of reward.
Especially since you can just camp the pallet and take of with the double speed boost guaranteed.
Sometimes camping won’t work cause killers are smarter than people think and they will bait the pallet but then you wasted it and there’s only a limited amount of pallets to use for the perk. Also you can just throw the pallet and use lithe to get the same result so that’s why I made this buff so the perk is not outclassed
Then you just take the M1 and get the hell out of dodge. Unless you're injured, but you shouldn't be camping pallets at that point anyway.
I can see alot of people wasting pallets if this change would happen.
You can't do the Lithe thing, though. Smash Hit gets you more distance and the killer has to eat a stun and almost always has to break the pallet.
The stun and the pallet break are what really set it apart. Even if the killer has Enduring they usually have to break the pallet because that's just the most efficient thing to do. Unless the loop is rather weak, it often takes nearly the same amount of time to walk around it and then there's a reasonably strong/god-tier pallet left standing.
Edit: also, if you somehow fail to stun the killer, then all you've done is play like a competitive gamer and prethrown the pallet. That is literally the current meta.
One of two exhaustion perks that survivors have to earn, making them perfectly balanced...and you want it buffed...why?
I'd say yes, sometimes you get very few pallets per map (and have to share them with 3 other survivors) and most of them are unsafe and adding a cooldown to the perk basically means you will get it to activate like 2 times per match, I wouldn't give it a speed buff because it feels extremely unfair when you play as killer but maybe a smaller speed boost with a long running time like instead of 150% for 4 seconds, give it like 120% for 6 seconds?
i mean it's a stun and a speed boost. sounds pretty good to me. it may be outclassed, but well... i don;t think there is a but...i mean, how often would you be able to get the stun? i do eat pallets, but i dont actively let survs stun me...so kinda a small opportunity unlike the other ones which can be used on command...and i really don;t think using any pallet without getting the stun would be a good idea either...
so i will have to say no. kinda like balanced landing...not always gonna be useful to you, but you still bring it in just incase.
Hopefully the up coming hit detection makes so when you try to play around this perk, you don't get phantom hit over the pallet anyway.
I think it's good as it is. Extremely rewarding compared to other exhaustion perks.
I don't think that's a good change at all. You're rewarded for getting a stun.
That's what exhaustion perks should be in the first place. Most exhaustion perks reward you for just existing with a huge, impactful effect. That's bad game design, Smash Hit isn't an example of that.
Just poor design for an exhaustion perk. The whole benefit of having an exhaustion perk is to be able to make it to a tile if you find yourself outpositioned.
Smash Hit just requires you to waste resources at the tile you’re already at.
IMO, buffing this would be very hard to do, as most killers are happy to eat a strong pallet for free to remove it from the equation in future chases.
I see no way if buffing this without making it a non-exhaustion perk. Problem there, is it would become WAY too strong when synergized with an actual exhaustion perk.
Your suggested changes seem more like a nerf to me. Free pallets wasted. 2 survivors running Smash Hit and the game will be out of tiles before 3 gens pop.
