What is this argument? We should never be allowed to complain about frustrating killer mechanics? lol
I mean, killers get chastised constantly for complaining about frustrating survivor things.

We're whining about Wraith now. Survivors just never quit. My god.

"We'll take action" as in the bans are still being dealt with by an actual person. Not the automation itself.
It's just a system that makes the process easier. Nobody is going to get banned by a machine. It does not have the final say.
I mean, you say that, but then they also literally used the term "autoban". Auto suggests, heavily, that it's automatic. As in, literally says it.

Perks/addons/items and passive abilities are completely different things.
Completely different things - but can usually be used, repeatedly. Zombies exist, 2 on a map. 2 zombies on one giant map. Dodge them.

Somehow it doesn't feel right.
I mean, we've had second chance/exhaustion perks, keys, SWF, items and addons doing survivors job for years.
What's the big deal? There's 2 zombies on an entire map.

No, that's definitely not the case! ❤️
To clarify, what I mean is that different features may require knowledge of different programming languages, software or actual experience that goes into the job. For instance, not every game designer is a well-versed programmer! While that fact is obvious to many, it's still worth mentioning, since many people hop on to read these comments, and we can't expect everyone to know exactly how game dev works. ☺️
That said, hiring more people to do one specific job doesn't always bring in better results either. Obviously, I can't speak to how teams are organized and hired, but I do know that it's usually not as simple as moving over people from one feature/project to another!
Anyway, I'm definitely not the person that has all the answers, but again, hope this gives a tiny bit more insight into things. ❤️
Hope you guys have a fantastic day ahead, and once again, we'll let you know when we have any more info we can share! 😊
I'm sorry, but no. With the way it was worded in the Anniversary stream today (almost verbatim "When you get enough reports, action will be taken on you"), you don't get to be silent now. This is a time for answers, not "wait and see's". Stop dodging. There's NO way you have enough info to announce such an awful sounding system and have absolutely no info on how it works.
You don't get to say what was said and then be silent. This is a make or break for BHVR.

They LITERALLY, VERBATIM said "When you get enough reports, we'll take action"
If that, combined with the fact that DBD players will report for LITERALLY ANYTHING isn't a cause for concern, I don't know what is.

Yes I think completely overreacting with no information is the wise thing to do in this situation.
I mean, they LITERALLY said "if you get a certain amount of reports, we'll take action"
It's not an overreaction. They LITERALLY said it.
-
BHVR has to be insane if they think THIS community is even remotely mature enough for what they described.
@not_Queen @Peanits we need clarification here. This can NOT be automated. THIS WILL BE THE DEATH OF THIS GAME.
-
I'll just go make the "Comprehensive list of reasons why a good survivor who can actually loop is infinitely more fun to play against than a survivor who needs Dead Hard to carry them at loops."
-
Dead Hard is a problem. It's a reward for failure given to survivors for no other reason than they were outplayed. If a dead hard was used, it's because the killer played better. The killer should be rewarded for playing better. Survivors need to learn to run tiles instead of needing their E key to bail them out. Period.
-
Not to sound like an #########, but if you can't make it to a single vault or pallet in 12 seconds, you likely went down in a dead zone anyway before you got hooked. You put yourself in that position.
-
It will be iconic Resident Evil characters. Likely not RE7 or RE8.

Dead Hard cannot be used on a healthy survivor unlike: Balanced Landing, Smash Hit, Lithe, or Sprint Burst. There is a condition which must be met for all exhaustion perks.
DS is completely under the killer's control - especially after the rework. If you get DS'd that means you CHOSE to tunnel someone who just got off the hook and has done NOTHING to advance the game.
BT - especially with the killer near the hook is putting yourself in danger of either getting hit or downed.
Unbreakable - Again this is the killer's choice to slug. Otherwise this perk is useless.
Your problem is you think I am "arguing" - I am stating facts. I don't need to "argue" especially on an online forum (LOL), but I also have no desire to watch "mains" on these forums - either side - misrepresent facts. Look at my post history - I do not take sides - I reply with logic and facts because frankly these forums lack such traits in a lot of the threads.
As far as NOED - that is the survivor's fault - and just like UB and DS - is avoidable by making the choice to cleanse totems. Do I respect NOED users - not when they get 0-1k before NOED and then end up with 3-4k due to NOED, BUT again I still blame the survivors for being lazy and only focusing on one objective. See there - I can be objective on both sides - just wish more people were the same instead of babbling on with their bias, vitriol, and hyperbole.
I'll keep standing...thanks.
Dead hard cannot be used on a healthy survivor. AKA - it's a reward for being hit, aka, a reward for failure.
You've presented no argument to counter what I've said. None of it comes with earning potential, and survivors who use dead hard are awful.
-

Wraith only needs a QOL change or two; and they've been doing that.
He's slept on and underrated at the moment.
-
Head On is the only right answer.
Every other exhaustion perk is for bots.
-
Because with all the second chances survivors run, it feels like you have to literally win the same game multiple times. You can never just play better than the survivors and be rewarded. They've always got a dead hard, unbreakable, or some other crutchy free second chance in their back pocket because they know they can't cut the mustard without them.
-

Just keeping it real. I am a 50/50 player and not some survivor or killer "main."
With the exception of NOED, which shouldn't exist IMO, the other ones you mentioned all have to be earned.
What do you do to earn Dead Hard? DS? BT? Unbreakable?
Argue with someone you can beat. Sit down.

Isn't it just a stock scream they bought the rights to use?
There's no reason to pay a VA for a random scream people will forget in 3 seconds.
Yep. Especially when a VA will charge upwards to hundreds or even thousands of dollars for a single line of dialog. Not saying it's not worth it for certain things, but at the same time, a scream you hear all of once in the game? NOPERS
-
This tier list is complete nonsense.
-
Also, spoiler: It's likely a stock scream sound effect.
-
You can tell me how to play when you stop using all the second chance perk that correct your mistakes. I don't find that fun. I find it both boring and frustrating.
-
End the chase by escaping. Literally. Be better at the game than the killer.
I know. A novel concept.
In short, get good.

@Kirkylad said:
If someone body blocks with BT then they are being a good teammate as that's the smartest play a survivor can make in that situation.
While I won't DISAGREE with that, what I will say is that if you body block with BT when I tried to go for the unhooker, and I now decide to remove you from the game via that spicy tunnel, you don't actually get to complain that you got tunneled, because what you did was an invitation. When they body block with BT, I take it as them saying "please ######### me harder, killer!".
-
More plausible explanation: It's just a stock scream audio file.

If we're going to remove things that are annoying, survivors will stop having any sort of fun real quick. Let's not go down that road.

I really think that hook grabs are more unfun and face camper promoting than they’re worth.
If a Survivor is being camped, there should always at least be the option to hook trade. You could still hit someone while unhooking or cancel an unhook if you’re quick and they’re injured.
It wouldn’t be a game breaking change against good Killer players and it would help a lot to make the most unfun Killer “playstyles” more bearable.
Survivors like you are why killers facecamp. You literally make it viable.

Well, I don't know... Starstruck on Nurse primarily and Spirit as well... is pretty darn problematic. It isn't an exploit/bug though... just a consequence they didn't think through when the designed it.
How is it problematic? It has PLENTY of counterplay. The only thing problematic about it is survivors refusing to adapt to it.

Tier lists are an OPINION.
Literally, only an opinion.
People need to stop taking content creators opinions as gospel.
Sounds a lot like survivors, to be fair.

Yes an add-on, I believe they did the same thing with The Legion. However when killer perks have been problematic, I don't remember them issuing any bans? It seems to be they only bans for add-ons versus perks.
When's the last time a killer perk was this problematic?
Spoiler: Never.
-
Because it's a bug that favors survivors, it's not bannable. Because survivor fun>killer fun. Historically true as well. Remember the wake-up bug?
If it was a killer bug, as has been seen in the past, the devs would put a warning in game and ban killers for it. Remember double blades Legion?

It leads to a terrible cycle too. If you run a off meta build as survivor you get slugged for 3 minutes against a nurse and if you play trapper or pig you get hit with meta builds
This makes everyone start using meta
I run an off meta build as survivor. Have for literally...4 years?
I really don't get slugged often.

Oh hmm I see your point! I think you're forgetting that it is an exhaustion perk meant to dodge a hit... so by "unearned" I see your side, but I wouldn't say completely unearned (if that makes sense)?
Also, here's what I think about perks– I think they're very useful for whatever they're meant to do, but I don't think it should ever be the reason why you escape/get kills. I only consider killers/survivors good and strategic if they don't rely on perks to win.
If I also may ask, what's your take on other second chance perks (like bt, ds, etc.)?? I'm curious about what you think about them.
I've got over 6000 hours in this game. I didn't "forget" anything.
And yes, it is completely unearned. You literally had to be injured to use it. Once injured, it was given to you for no other reason than...you got injured.
Much like NOED, it's a reward for playing badly. You should have to atone for your mistakes, and get better at the video game. Not have a perk to save you.

Guess you can't really have a reasonable discussion in this community. I hoped to, but nah, kids on the internet are only ever going to spam catchphrases "git gud". Boy, do I miss some historical periods...
Freddy is cheap. Spirit is cheap. And possibly any killer becomes cheap because of how people play them. Endless tunneling is cheap. Slugging to get a 4k every game is cheap. Camping is cheap. Only ever going for instadowns is cheap. Would draw it for you, but I don't have a board.
Only ever going for instadowns is cheap. My dude things saw only Billy is cheap.
I win this debate. You forfeit. Sit.

Both things are true, but actually, the fact that killers play cheap killers does not depend on the fact that survivors play cheap perks. Both sides would still keep being cheap even if the other side would not.
Imagine thinking any of those, with the possible exception of Freddy and Spirit, are "cheap". Get better at the game.

There is 23 killers. But there is so much Nurse and Spirit mains. I dont remember when i saw last time Plague, Pig, Trapper, Demo, Twins.
So much Nurse, Spirit mains. Nightmare, Oni, Legion, Doctor, Huntress is so common. Most of my matches i am seeing those 7 killers, others so rare.
I'm bored of going against survivors with the same builds every game. There are 89 survivor perks. I don't remember the last time I saw Babysitter, Vigil, Lightweight, Open Handed etc.
So much Dead Hard, Unbreakable users. Lithe, Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst and Iron Will is so common. Most of my matches I am seeing some combination of those perks. Others so rare.
There's your answer. Killers run power killers because survivors run the same busted and boring meta, and have been for years.
ALSO - even if you see someone like Trapper, Demo or Pig rarely - it's far more common to run into a killer that isn't played often than it is to run into a match without survivors running the crutch meta. Food for thought.

@fancynancy said:
I'm a survivor main and run dead hard purely to avoid getting downed during a chase. A lot of killers seem to think this is a strong perk, when I'd say it's a very half and half type of perk. Half of the time, it'll benefit me and the other half, I'm exhausted on the ground, dead hard a bit too early, or dead hard but get downed bc I'm in a dead zone. It's also an exhaustion perk, so I'll only be able to use it once during a chase (unless I happen to quickly get my exhaustion back). So if anything, I feel like it's very balanced and countered. Don't get me wrong through, I can see how you go for a hit and miss bc of dead hard, but I don't think it's enough to "get rid of it" especially bc killers are faster than survivors.. Is that not fair enough??
"I run dead hard purely to avoid getting downed in a chase".
There's your reason. It gives you an unearned, free health state. Being that you had to be injured to use it, it's basically a reward for failure.
Remember back before hit validation when vault hits were REALLY, REALLY bad? Like, you'd vault shack window, walk 10 feet, and the killer still hits you through it? That feeling of not actually being outplayed, that demoralizing feeling of "I was just robbed" you got? That's the same feeling a killer gets when you are SUPPOSED to go down because the killer *played better* than you, but you had dead hard. The killer equivalent of that would be if a killer could reset a gen to zero, with one kick.
That's not even counting when it's used for distance, which there's no counter to, even if the killer knows they have it. I've seen even some of the best killers out there have their chase completely reset because a survivor dead harded for distance to a strong pallet or vault, and added 30+ seconds (which is an eternity for a killer) onto a chase.
If you use dead hard, and would have otherwise gone down had you not had it, you are a worse survivor than the person who doesn't use it and managed to loop just fine. You're mediocre, at very best. I'm not saying this to insult, it's just the truth. Most dead hard users, including those at the top of the twitch directory, have no clue what to do when they don't have their dead hard to bail them out of their terrible looping plays.
-

What were your perks?
-
Getting rid of free escapes on the survivor side, and free pressure perks on the killer side.
No more E to outplay, no more passive ruin value.
-
Spirit, probably. Freddy isn't OP, he's overtuned (which is why his nerf will only hurt people who just spammed his snares), and Nurse isn't OP in the slightest.

Name one reason why explicitly heterosexual lore is fine, but explicitly LGBT lore is not, that doesn't depend on homophobia being a thing.
This literally has nothing to do with my post. You're also insinuating I'm saying something I'm not. Take your strawman and wave it in someone else's face, kiddo.
I don't care about the lore, and that's my entire point. The lore is actual garbage.
Why anyone puts so much personal investment into a shoddily written lore is beyond me.

Bhvr made that big announcement back in June. It's almost a year later and there's still no LGBT character. I'd have preferred if they just didn't make an announcement at all if the character wasn't going to come out in the next chapter or so. IMO it kind of confirms that they mainly made that announcement to capitalize on pride month.
As a gay man I'm disappointed in Bhvr.
You're aware they have this stuff planned VERY FAR in advance, right?
Besides, it doesn't matter what the lore says of any character. MY David is straight. MY Claudette is asexual. MY Felix is gay. I really don't see the issue in having your own personal take. I don't see why it needs to be half-assedly written into some mediocre (and that's exactly what DBD's lore is) backstory for validation. I say this as a bisexual man with a male partner.
