Killer.
The survivor meta is filled with free everything for nothing. Sprint Burst? Free chase extender for nothing. Lithe? Balanced? Free chase extender for NEXT TO nothing. Dead Hard? Reward for being hit. I could go on.
There's not a lot of perks on the killer side that don't require earning the value from them, and I play survivor with only WGLF for the most part. For BP.

Were you talking about how for the survivors who aren't being camped, escaping a camper is easy because all they have to do is to do gens?
Both escaping, AND punishing the camper by making sure you don't feed him more kills when you try to be altruistic.

Why do survivors think tunneling is toxic?

If you're replying to the OP and are against what they said, you're defending what they're against.
Doesn't require much brain power to figure that out.
It does on the other hand require brainpower to think of an argument that isn't a strawman.
Think about that.
-
Also. @Peanits @not_Queen @MandyTalk
One of you. We need a statement. This isn't something you can be silent on. Cause all of a sudden, Breakdown has coincidentally become meta. You were quick to ban Legion players for exploiting double blades back in the day. At least give us the courtesy of communication.
-
Remember when Legion's double blade combo was made bannable?
Breakdown is okay though. It's a survivor thing. It's just a tech.
Breakdown tech.

I knew exactly what you meant. I've seen the exact same argument literally dozens of times. My point is that you cannot counter camping if you're being camped. At least if you're being tunnelled, there's a slim chance to outplay the Killer and escape. If you're being camped then you're just dead. It removes any interactivity to the gameplay. In solo que, people just kill themselves on hook if they're camped in my experience and I honestly cannot blame them. After all, why should they waste their time unnecessarily just so strangers can win in a game? Anyhow, if the killer decides to camp then it literally just stops being a game. It basically just becomes a cutscene and a tremendously boring one at that. Awful game design in my opinion but the Devs said they won't address it so I don't even know why I bother, lol.
Still doesn't get it.

Wouldn't expect it from anyone else.
I'm not defending anything. That was an actual list compiled of things I've actually been told in game.
Wouldn't expect a strawman from anyone else.

LOL, dude, you're taking this WAY too seriously. We can disagree, that's fine, but to say that someone is just straight up entitled and toxic because of their opinion? I never even said you were a "bad person", I said that I lose respect as a player, that's it. It's really not that big of a deal. It's already looked down upon, but I mean, it's not a bannable offense or anything. Same as spawn camping or just straight up camping in other games. But that's the point, DBD is unique, and the killer has a lot of things they can do to take power away from survivors, kind of like keys for them. It's just one of those things. Just chill out and play however you want as long as you're not breaking any rules.
They aren't entitled or toxic because of their opinion. They're entitled and toxic for expecting the *other team*, in a PvP game, to do anything other than play by the *rules of the game* to appease their delicate sensibilities.

Ah yeah lemme just do a gen on hook, oh wait...
I like Noed and use it occasionally because it’s one of the few second chance perks killers have. However, in my opinion, the ‘just do bones’ argument kind of just ignores all possibility for nuance. In an incredibly close game, there simply isn’t time to do bones because if you do then you’re just getting your team killed anyways by not doing a gen. Furthermore, there’s never a guarantee that the killer even has Noed in the first place. If you aren’t running Inner strength then doing bones is usually a waste of time. You’re essentially helping the killer if they don’t have Noed. Even if they do have noed, you’re still helping them out by buying them time during the match. Especially so, if you don’t manage to cleanse every bone.
If you really misinterpreted what "just do gens" means as a counter to camping, you need to stop talking and educate yourself on why killers camp. You clearly don't have a clue.

please find a new game if the only way u can secure a kill (BESIDES EGC) is through camping or tunneling. if a survivor was being genuinely toxic then it's warranted, but tunneling and camping someone in the beginning-middle of the game only hurts u in the long run
I never once said I can only secure a kill by camping or tunneling. Imagine manufacturing things that hard.
Besides - camping/tunneling aren't against the rules. Maybe I'll do it more. Just to spite you telling me not to. Stop gatekeeping, bud.

Because of the DS nerf
DS was never powerful as an anti tunnel perk, but it was extremely abusable.
Now that it's been nerfed the fatal flaw of the perk has been revealed and killers can tunnel without extreme penalties anymore.
So they got stunned by DS once? Now they can continue tunneling as if nothing had happened, what's the survivor going to do? They don't have DS anymore.
Everything about DS that could have potentially made it anti tunnel is still in tact. The DS nerf has nothing to do with it.

I guess you're just proving my point, lol. That's fine, it's not going to affect me in any way other than my feelings for that match, but you're literally saying that you don't care about the other side having fun. Like I said before, as a player, I will lose respect for you if you hard face camp or tunnel, but trust that it's not going to ruin my day :)
I'll wave that flag proudly. I didn't buy this game, or any other game, to be a babysitter. I don't do things for the purpose of you not having fun, iI simply don't care whether you have fun or not. It's not mine or anyone elses job for the other side to have fun. Killer or survivor. Any other mindset is pure entitlement and toxic.
When is the last time you bought ANY OTHER PvP game (and that's what DBD is - a PvP game, not a damn babysitter simulator) like Call of Duty or something similar and thought "Man, I hope I can make this fun for everyone on the opposite team that I'm supposed to be relentlessly murdering!" ? Probably never.
Do you think it's fun for killers to have to run around in circles around every pallet, be dead harded for distance, be body blocked at hooks etc? No. But we do it. If you spawned in next to a killers hex totem, would you simply not destroy it for the killers sake? I'd bet not - and if you say yes, you're in the extreme minority.
Knock it off with the "you're a bad person because you don't care about anyone elses fun". There is NOTHING wrong with playing to win and you are absolutely TOXIC to the community for trying to shame people for it. Shame on you.

I care because if I camp and/or tunnel I derank and barely get any bloodpoints meanwhile survivors can gen rush, play hide and seek, use perksa gainst camping/tunneling/slugging and just escape through the hatch without even having to finish the objectives and they will still get 999 pips.
That's funny, cause every time I get called a "Camper" or a "tunneler", I double pip, nearly every time, and get a ton of bloodpoints.
Are you telling me that the majority of survivors don't actually know what either of those things are?

It's not your job for other players to have fun, but you're knowingly making it less fun by doing this, especially when you explain it this way. It’s just like when killers say ‘Do gens’ when being face camped.

Do gens - a valid counter to face camping. Killers still do it because survivors make it viable. If survivors did gens, it would be less viable.
Doing bones against NOED is also a valid counter, because it's ACTUALLY a valid counter. It literally removes the perk and it can't be used at all.

Gen speeds and the win rate of specific killers are two completely different things.
I actually agree with you that the whole "the stats say X" argument that the devs give is nonsensical and pointless.

They said moris would be reworked for give or take a couple years and yet I don't see that as an issue
The difference is, when they said a "mori rework was coming", you didn't see moris every game until it happened. In my experience, mori's were quite rare.
When insta heals were nerfed? It was 6 weeks of seeing them *literally every game*. Same with toolboxes, BNPs etc. It's been like that with keys since December. 80% of lobbies seem to either have a key or 6 second switch to a key. That 6 seconds gets them another 20 minute queue time.
-
They already did. In December when they promised keys were being reworked "soon".

Dead Hard is fine. You can bait it out, or you can FORCE it out. There really is no difference. You just keep chasing them until you are so close they don't have a choice but use it or get hit. Then you follow them and hit them, a few seconds later.
Dead hard is not fine, and you can't bait a dead hard for distance. Which is the main problem. A dead hard for distance *can not be countered*. Period. Even if you know it's coming, there's nothing you can do, and it extends the chase artificially through no skill of the survivor.
Even without the distance, why should a survivor be offered a free mulligan when they screw up a loop? The killer played better, they got in range for the hit, they deserve that hit. The equivalent to Dead Hard on the killer side would be the ability to phase through a wall, at the press of a button, with no fatigue, every 45 seconds. Survivors wouldn't have that, though. No ma'am.
Survivors who use dead hard are bad at the game. Period.

Then you'd know, as in my last post, that 2-3 gens popping in first chase isn't uncommon.
It isn't genrushing, as I said, but it's still ridiculous times to get that many gens done when at that point you can only pressure one or two survivors if your lucky.
I know it's not genrushing, again, but even without the fabled gen rushing occuring, they can easily get 2-3 gens done. That's 40-60% of their objective whilst you get, at most, 25% (get killed on first hook, or suicide). Does that not tell you how ridiculous this.
The argument isn't "the survivors did their gens fast". It's "genrushing" The two are completely different.
Besides, if 2-3 gens are popping in first chase is THAT common for you, it's more you than the game. I rarely see that happen after 6k hours.

I don't want the killer to do anything other then what they want to do. If they want to go for the unhooker or the rescuer is their choice. I do either according to the circumstances. The fact that they were unhooked in my face doesn't change the fact that I went after the same person, if I choose to do so. Even more so when the rescuer is readily available. You're simply avoiding to call a spade a spade due to the stigma attached to tunneling as a tactic.
I know perfectly well what tunneling is. Trying to straw man me just invalidates your argument even further.
You clearly don't know what tunneling is. Tunneling is when the killer spends an entire match, ignoring generators, ignoring ALL other survivors under any circumstance to go after one person until they are dead. Bar none. Going after the person who was unhooked in your face isn't tunneling. Don't change the rules just to make it convenient for you. It's not a good look.
Also learn what a strawman is.
EDIT: I don't actually care about tunneling. Nor do I care about the stigma. I really don't give a crap. If I can get you out early, you go early. It's in my favor and goes toward my objective. It is however NOT FAIR to criticize the killer because as a survivor you made a stupid play and unhooked someone in their face. As such, the survivor victimized by this? It's up to them to understand. Not to expect the killer to be empathetic. It's not tunneling.
Sit.

Hit or down the unhooker that's what i do. Most times its not the survivor on the hooks fault. I would know at red farming is surprisingly common and i hate it when im unhooked while a ghostface is proxycamping with stealth to redown me. My solo teammate didnt know he was there so not their fault. Not my fault either for being unhooked. New borrowed shows itself in edge cases like these. Also the famous insidious bubba waiting to redown the unhooked.
Whoever's fault it is isn't the killers problem. They aren't there to babysit survivors. Survivors are a team. Why is the killer expected to not take an advantage handed to them on a silver platter by the survivors?
Let me know when a survivor spawns in next to a killers hex totem and doesn't destroy it just to be "fair" to the killer. Spoiler: Wouldn't happen. Nor should it.

In that case, it's not camping. It's tunneling if you go against the freshly rescued. That's not mutually exclusive with capitalizing with a mistake of the opposing team.
No, it's not tunneling. If you hook the survivor and they are unhooked in your face before you have the chance to leave, you can NOT call it tunneling. What do you want the killer to do?
Please learn what tunneling is. Clearly you don't know, and that's the issue with "tunneling" these days. Survivors piss and moan about it and don't actually know what it is.

Edit: gen rushing isn't usually an issue for me, playing nurse or hag as I can usually shrug it off with a 3 gen. But seriously, I pressure fine most games, but 2-3 gens done in the first chase isn't gen rushing, it's the base mechanics screwing people over.

You can't play Freddy,nurse,spirit,hag,doctor-DC.
How dare you attempt to mindgame me, the Survivor, your meant to try and brute force every pallet.
How dare you tunnel whilst I pump out gens, it's not fair that you try and complete your objective.
How dare you camp to secure that last kill that you earned. That's completely unforgivable and you should turn yourself over to the authorities.
How dare you run (Noed, Devour hope, tinkerer with PGTW,BBQ) your meant to ruin unsynchronized perks whilst we will run DS UB BT kindred/iron will/ dead hard.
How dare you bring a map cancelling offering, you just like to spoil our haddonfield offerings don't you.
How dare you bring even semi decent add ons, they make the game so heavily in your favour that it's just unfair.
How dare you pull me off a gen or loop, your meant to smack me and let me get away with my mistake, your removing my fun from the game.
How dare you go back to the hook after seeing 3 survivors rush towards it, didn't you know there's a 40 metre distance rule where you cannot be within that radius whilst there's a hooked survivor.
How dare you go for the easy survivor who is trying to body block with BT but just wait it out. That's completely unfair. Your just meant to eat all our perks so we get value of them. Same with DS.
Do you want more?
The KILLER RULEBOOK - as interpreted and written by survivors
- No Camping. For any reason. Ever.
- No proxy camping/hook patrolling. Again, for any reason, ever.
- No tunneling, even if the survivors try to bait you into it.
- Respect the 4%. If the survivor unhooks themselves, you must allow them to live.
- No slugging allowed.
- Always eat the DS.
- No NOED (doing bones is too hard duh)
- No mori's, even though they only work on death hook.
- No OP (as defined by survivors) addons.
- ALWAYS let survivors save. Even if they are in your face.
- No 3 gen plays.
- No closing the hatch. The last survivor deserves a chance to escape, always.
- No BMing (nodding, shaking head, hitting on hook, t-bags etc) no matter how much the survivors do the same to you.
- No trapping near hooks (Applies to Hag and Trapper)
- No intentional usage of bloodlust. If bloodlust procs, you must abandon chase as punishment.
- Not allowed to bait Dead Hard. Must always swing.
- No OP killers (Try and stick to only playing Wraith and...well, Wraith. Be wholesome and stick to Wraith.)
- Not allowed to hook more than one survivor in the basement at a time.
- No body blocking allowed. Only survivors are allowed to do this.
- No window blocking. Must always allow survivors to vault (no bamboozle by association)
- If the survivor gives you an item as an offering, you must let them go.
- Franklins Demise is not allowed.
- Slowdown perks are not allowed.
- If a survivor boops the snoot, you must let them go.
- SWF doesn't exist. All survivors are solo, and extremely skilled.
- Respect AFK survivors, unless they have crows.
- ALWAYS say GGWP. No matter what.
Get to work! You all have homework to do!
-
Honestly, they should add the condition to safe unhooks so that borrowed time doesn't guarantee it. Make it so if the survivor is hit, regardless of going into dying or mending state, before the time limit for a safe unhook, it doesn't count.
Encourage smart plays, without punishing the victim of farming.
