Does chase time not factor into it? Or is it that survivors act more like moths to a flame when someone gets camped?
The latter is exactly why some killers camp for the most part. Because survivors flock to the camped survivor, and allow the killer to get 4ks while camping. They then in turn come here and complain about camping.

Maybe you just suck as survivor?
Most survivors I face seem to enjoy teabagging and flicking their flashlights a helluva lot, mainly in the exit gates.
I mean, they run Dead Hard. Nothing screams "I'm terrible at survivor" than needing the ultimate "Oh #########, I ######### up, better press E" crutch.

@Marigoria said:
The same way killers complain about survivors using "second chance perks" and "genrushing" when they're just trying to win.
Difference is, killers complain about second chance perks. And that's what they are. Second chances.
Survivors straight up gatekeep and try to tell killers how they should play.
-
It's not OP. It's literally the most counterable perk in the game.
-
Playing to win isn't allowed. But survivors can do whatever they want. Get with the program.
Also, tunnel them and camp them all you want. You aren't their babysitter.

Ahhh yes. You've had a different experience in a game based on RNG. So I must be lying.
Slow your role, bucko.

Imo the nerf isn’t completely awful as I definitely still popped it on a few killers here and there but let me ask you this why even slot it? In higher rank survivor gameplay most good survivors off a hook will try to pop a gen/make a good play before a heal but DS deactivating upon healing self/others, totems, gens entices you to be an inefficient teammate. I can see the argument “the perk did need re-work” but the better option is to say perks like resilience might be an even easier slot than before knowing that if your not on a gen/healing after a hook your pretty much dead anyways lol. I got my DS off maybe 2-3 times in some well needed non BT saves but beyond that seemed lackluster what do you guys think.
If you get tunneled a lot, run DS. 100% of it's anti tunnel functionality is still intact. If you don't want to run it now all of a sudden because it only acts as anti tunnel, one has to question your real reason for running it in the first place.

Neither of you read it, huh?
A) The skill check mentioned is -currently- part of DS. It's not referencing a skill check when doing gens/healing, it's referencing the skill check requirement of triggering DS.
B) This suggestion isn't about letting them do things while DS is up. It's about giving DS, current, highly restrictive DS, the ability to trigger once per unhook, as opposed to once per match.
My bad.

They SHOULD be useless after being unhooked if they have a perk that makes them invincible. No.

So when did this conversation convert to PP size? Lmao. You’ve now brought this up twice. You good?
I didn't refer to PP size. Only time I mentioned PP is when you turned this into a proverbial urination contest by quoting your hours played. Which all of a sudden didn't matter when you saw I had more.
When I mentioned size, I didn't specifically mention PP. Look, I know it's hard. I know you're trying. It's actually cute that you think you're witty, but really, you're embarrassing yourself.

Why not mention your age as well as your game stats cause to me you sound nothing more than a 16 year old who thinks they know it all. It will be even more shocking and embarrassing if you’re over 21.
I don't think you get to be facetious about hours played when you were the first one to use it as a measuring stick of sorts. It's kind of like saying "Mine is HUGE...oh wait, yours is bigger? Size doesn't really matter I guess." It's not a good look.
At least you tried.

What was that even like? Like how could it be worse than the current state? I know I started back when the huntress came out and had her as my main for the longest time but I don't really remember how it was like back in the day.
It used to be minimum 200 hours of playtime just to P3 a single killer.

You're talking to someone with nearly 6k hours and has been playing since double vaults at cow/pig tree, actual infinites, double pallets, first down moris and insta-gen-BNPs existed. AKA, 2016.

First and foremost I never once said that YOU “don’t have a right to form an opinion on their complaint”. But, do you ever look back at your “opinions” and stop to think that they’re actually insults? Telling someone “They’re just bad at survivor” is an insult whether you agree with me or not. That’s just the truth. Yeah these are forums for a reason, you can comment on threads but with you, you specifically like to insult people when it comes to them posting a thread about something on the survivor side whether it be about a bad game, a perk, ANYTHING... as I’ve told you before it’s disgusting. Now YOU, sit.
Most veteran players would agree. If you have THAT much a problem against Trapper, you are in fact, bad at survivor.
Please, spare me. Sit.

You need to be less entitled. I on the other hand don't care what survivors bring, or do. I play to win and I expect the same from you. I don't expect you to piss and moan when a killer adopted a playstyle that clearly works on you. It's part of the game. Like it or go play Roblox.

Who cares if he’s the “weakest killer in the game.” OP has a right to complain about how most trappers play, No one would enjoy a game where the killer stays at shack 98% of the game to get kills. With that being said, leave him be, like it honestly seems like you go to every thread and if it mentions ANYTHING about the survivor side you’re so quick to judge and have something negative to say. It’s not a good look.
They absolutely have the right to complain. I would never take away their right to do that.

Again I was talking about them camping with all their traps in shack. It’s not effective and it’s not a good habit to get into
Assuming these people want to get better at trapper this strategy only gets you so far especially at higher ranks
If you put all 6 of your traps at shack and leave agreed it ain’t camping but if a trapper puts 6 traps at shack he probably intends to camp shack
Actually - it's very effective.
If it wasn't, Trapper players wouldn't do it.

Im fine with territorial killers like hag and trapper playing territorially but if it’s done to much it just leads to a boring match all around
No. A Trapper can put all their traps at shack, and still not be camping. Don't gatekeep.

I suppose that's true. But my point still stands about Survivor obsession perks being either mediocre or useless and in need of major buffs. DS is one of the only useable ones. The only thing you could replace DS with to make sure a obsession is still created per match is For the People tbh.
I have an obsession every match anyway. I run STBFL on most killers aside from those who i don't M1 with.

You have to be hooked and hit to use DS, it is not just a passive perk. And tell me how hard you work to earn bitter murmurs or whispers or spies in the shadows or iron grasp or hex:ruin or NoEd etc etc. Come on man. Just no.
You have to be hooked and hit. Doesn't sound like earning to me. Sounds like a reward for failure.
If you insist...
Bitter murmur - it procs. You then have to earn any value from it. By chasing and downing survivors. Pressuring gens etc.
Whispers - Doesn't tell you exactly where someone is. It's just a general area. You have to actively find them.
Spies - See Bitter murmur.
Iron Grasp - You have to chase, down and pick up a survivor to get any value from it.
Ruin - You need to pressure gens to get any value from it.
NOED is the one exception, but it's also the most counterable perk in the game.
"Come on man. Just no."
I said stop. You have nothing.

Lol, invincible??? OMG, you have got to be kidding. You mean, just like BT, it made you hit a person ONE extra time. And it is one time use, so unlike all the killer perks where you get benefit the entire game, this perk enabled survivors to protect themselves from a single hit over the entire match. Yeah sooo unfair.
Difference: You have to earn the functionality of 99% of killer perks.
Sit.

@OopsAllHexes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2073407#Comment_2073407
To be fair, DS didn't prevent you from getting hit by lunges and slugged to leave you unable to do anything. If you knew someone had DS and was trying this, you could lunge to down them instead of grabbing them.
DS is in a better state now, but DS no longer being meta, and no longer run in solo queue, has unfortunately opened a new can of worms.
DS still doesn't prevent that. The ONLY thing that changed about it is that you're now unable to do anything to help your team and still be invincible. It's anti-tunnel functionality is till 100% intact.

I wasn’t discounting anything. Camping in general is unfun to most killers.
Losing to a basement trapper is unlikely since you just do gens and get out while the one other person suffers. Doing gens is widely regarded as a boring thing and chases are the most fun thing. Camping removes the fun part and keeps the boring part
Also I ain’t embarrassed to lose to a trapper. Any trapper good enough to beat me is great in my book :)
Basement Trapper doesn't always involve camping. The two things are completely different.

Also that guy is a known troll so please don’t listen to him. All he does is go on to discussion and get angry at people before trying to blame them for everything he said.

No. Because it allowed you to be invincible, and continue to do your objective and other things useful for your team, leaving the killer helpless, which is just plain busted.

It's fun for the Trapper. Why are you discounting the fun of the killer? Why does their fun not matter?
I've got news for you, chief. Nobody particularly finds losing "fun". Deal with it, take the embarrassing loss (because you died to a Trapper). Speaking of fun...

Because it's lazy, cheap and carries no weight whilst pretending that your problem doesn't exist because another one does.
You know what else is lazy? Not doing bones. Especially if you "know all the totem spawns" and have multiple perks/items to tell you where they are otherwise.

Run small game and it won't be luck based. The killer also doesn't get any benefit throughout the whole match, except for the end.
Right? Literally 2 perks (Small game, Detectives Hunch) and 2 items (Maps) that tell you where all totems are, and even a perk that incentivizes breaking totems (inner strength)...but it's a "huge problem".
Perhaps we should be looking at perks that actually don't have a counter. Basically, none of the perks on the killer side.

Please, go cleanse all 5 dull totems. Every trial. And escape.
I cannot stress this enough, a perk that permanently blocked the last generator until all 5 dull totems were cleansed would 100% be the biggest and hottest new meta perk in DbD. This is the counterplay you are suggesting exists.
I do. I also run small game, no exhaustion perks, no spine chill etc. Play better.
-
Is it possible that all you survivor fans can find a different way to escape than to rely on exhaustion perks, toolboxes, instaheals and prove thyself? Then tunnel the hell out of generators and greed pallets with dead hard? Yes, killers kill survivors. That's what we do. If not, they survive and the game ends. Please relieve us of our boredom. Find another more creative and skill-based way to win than being the sum of your perks. Maybe even learn to loop without exhaustion perks. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS...
So you're telling a killer based on traps, who is also one of the weakest killers in the game, not to use their traps the most effective way possible?
You're just bad at survivor.

That's not what I mean by you needing to get value out of them. In order to make exhaustion perks work, you have to already be a competent looper and in a favorable position. To make balanced landing work, you need to have an elevated area, and use it to get to a loop. Holding W with exhaustion perks won't extend the chase by long. To make lithe work, you need to find a window, if you're not already looping. To get the most out of sprint burst, you want to be sprinting to a loop, at which you must loop. To get the most out of DH, you must be near a loop or in position to DH to a window, so you can extend the loop. They augment your skill., instead of handing you a bushel of power and saying lol good luck with that. Adrenaline is the same situation. Finishing 5 generators takes work. It's adds to your winnings. NOED adds to your losings.
I can't ever break through the red ranks; I'm always stuck at the border of rank 4 and 5; the moment I'm at rank 5, I'm playing against literal infants. The moment I'm at rank 4, I'm playing against the CIA. But again, the only reason I even play survivor is so I can have romantic moments will Bills and Davids in the corner of the map.
You do not have to be a competent looper to Dead Hard for distance to a window. If you're running dead hard, it's because you're trash at looping.
What you're basically saying is akin to someone saying "Only competent bicyclists can make training wheels work". No. Just no.
A looper who doesn't use exhaustion is *the better player*. Period.

I haven't gotten Autohaven or Macmillan in like a week. It's been Badham, Yamaoka, and a tiny bit of Crotus Prenn/The Game/Haddonfield thrown in every so often.
