You can't hide, killers hate immersed survivors
You can't loop, looping is boring for killers
you can't work on gens, that's always gen rushing how dare you
you can't do their hex, how dare you remove an effect that is negatively affecting you
you cant go for saves, you're hook rushing, so no hook rushing and no genrushing
you can't use toolboxes, that's aiding in genrushing
you can't use med-kits, free heals are totes gross
you can't use flashlights, omega toxic
You can't use maps, having game knowledge in your hand is just so broken
Keys? that's a dc or a lobby dodge
you can't use any perks that aid in your survival, perks that only have minimal affect on the match are allowed
you can't use map offerings, you shouldn't influence the realm that's chosen
you can't go through the hatch under any circumstance
you can't play Claudette, you're a Claudette abuser ugh
You sure you want to go down that road? Cause survivors have a far more insulting and laughable list of "rules". Theirs is even longer.

Wow he is a bit slower while placing his power and has less from it. That's not fixing the problem people have with this killer. The only positive thing is that the slowdown addons have a different effect now but other then that it's the same Freddy who can destroy loops without a effort.
Destroying loops without effort. You act as if running in circles, greeding pallets with dead hard etc. takes some sort of effort.

A true genrush happens one out of every 30 games. That's being generous.

No, I agree, but in this case it makes sense. 90% of killers use perks that are annoying to deal with as a survivor with the same reason for the other side. I rarely use meta perks at all. So from my perspective, it's not whataboutism, its a double standard.
Nah, it's just a whataboutism.

Blaming gen speeds for your loss is like when survivors blame tunneling for their loss.

Freddy was already garbage against decent players. He was only perceived as "good" because 99% of survivors suck at Dead by Daylight. Put him against even a solo team of any competence, with every slowdown and his most powerful addons, and he's just an M1 Andy.

I mean, if killers would run perks like ruin and pop less, sure. There are tons of awesome killer perks not being used.
I tried going without slowdowns. Instead I used infectious, to create pressure with slugging. It was actually a resounding success, but alas, survivors whined about that too.
Whataboutisms aren't a good look. Stop that.

Rude is subjective.

Irrelevant. Exhaustion as a mechanic is outdated. Bloodlust is outdated. Totem spawns are outdated. Dead by Daylight is outdated.
There's nothing wrong with exhaustion addons. I don't use exhaustion perks when I play survivor. I'm actually good at the game and don't require them. This is just another thing for survivors to use as an excuse for their ######### gameplay. Period.

Who in the world is going to run an iri add on that blocks the exit for a whole 10 seconds ? And the fact that they CAN have immunity is rediculous. As it will punish the killer for getting his hit if they're not drug in to dream world
Nah, his Slowdowns needed to go. Those were unnecessary.

Every time I see you post on these forums, all you want to do is argue and insult people. Why? Even your argument here makes no sense, so I'll spell it out for you.
SWF can tell each other exactly how many totems they've done, without perks or items.
Therefore, SWF can tell each other how many totems are left in the match.
Solos, need to equip a perk or item in order to access this information, so they trade a while perk slot or item slot in exchange for the information that SWF don't need to forfeit a perk or item slot for, therefore risking their total survivability.
You seem completely comfortable telling others to "deflate their head" but have you ever considered doing it yourself?
I didn't insult anyone. Kindly consult a dictionary. Telling you you're wrong, and why, isn't an insult.

@BrokenSouI said:
And these are the type of posts that are the problem. Instead of learning to actually play. Folks like you cry they're "too strong" until they get nerfed to the ground and you can have easy mode.
While this is true, you have to admit Freddy had a bit too much going for him. I however don't agree with the immunity from being asleep also being added. That was a step overboard. Nor do I think dream pallets needed a nerf. Everything else is fine, though.
But yes, you are right. Overall, 99% of survivors (As proven by these forums) are bad. They simply don't want to learn to get better.
As it is when I play Freddy I don't use addons, and I maybe use 1 or 2 snares in a match (basically M1 and teleport only). Unless they hump main building or something. I still win because most survivors suck. They still complain.

@indieeden7 said:

True as that may be, when trying to prevent NOED from popping, SWF can simply ask their teammates "how many totems has everyone cleansed" and they'll be able to figure out how many totems are left, no perk needed. That isn't the case for solos, this change does nothing to bridge the gap between solo and SWF, something that the devs promised to do ages ago.
Maps. Detectives Hunch.
Both of those LITERALLY show you totem auras and allow you to see if there are any left.
This notion that "OMG I CAN'T COUNT TO 5 I DONT KNOW IF TOTEMS R EXIST ANYMORRREEEE" is just whiny survivor nonsense. There are MULTIPLE things in the game that facilitate doing bones. The two I mentioned tell you where they are exactly.

An Add On should not disable Perks. Like, those are 3k BPs, yes, she is using an Add On-Slot, but this is way too cheap for such a strong effect.
Exhaustion Add Ons are outdated. And it is good that they get rid of them. They were introduced in a time where Exhaustion recovered while running, this is not the case anymore and so an Add On for 3k BPs is simply too strong when it gives Exhaustion.
I mean, just imagine this: Old Ruin (Hex-Skill Checks which make the Gen regress when not hitting the Great Skill Check) with the new Instructions (no Skill Checks while using a Toolbox). Sounds not right to negate a Perk with a 3k BP-Add On? Yes, it does not sound right. And this is why Exhaustion Add-Ons are outdated and should be removed.
"Exhaustion addons should be removed" - People who need exhaustion to play survivor. Perhaps try learning to loop without crutching on your exhaustion. If I can do it, so can you.
By that logic, totem perks should be permanent. Because you don't even need an addon/item to destroy those. And THOSE go away permanently.

yeah I don't really get the mass amount of hate against exhaustion addons
It really sucks to go against a huntress with them when I'm running deadhard, but she's using an addon slot for it, and it's not like dead hard is basekit. I can play without it. I just have to play well.
The only thing that makes it kinda gross is when I know I'm about to get hit behind a wall and need to Dead Hard for it, but eh. Overall, I think exhaustion addons with a timer of about 10-15 seconds would be fine honestly.
At the same time, if you "need" to dead hard for something, you likely deserved to get hit anyway.

Seeing as SWF get the totem counter for free, why should solo players have to sacrifice a whole perk slot for the information?
You act as if your average SWF is a sweat squad. This isn't the case. Hell, your average SWF doesn't even do bones. Just like solos.

First let me start off by stating that huntress needed an addon pass, at least for exhaustion and the iri addons, as they were not enjoyable to go against and generally incentivized boring play. The way you should fix it is by completely reworking said addons, instead of limiting the amount of hatchets.
Remember when huntress couldn't get ricochet hatchets because it was too finicky? Trickster exists, so doubt. why the hell did you have to keep the boring instadown mechanic when there were plenty of other ideas that would actually changed how she plays? Did you guys not just want to put in the dev time to actually change it? Did you guys just want to push out something that the majority of players would agree with, outside of the players who actually put enough time into the game to realize the instadown mechanic in of itself is not enjoyable to go against, and limiting the amount of hatchets doesn't change the fact that it's boring? This update is one that better be completely reworked, as it's just asinine that you would think this is a worthwhile change, compared to literally anything else.
Oh yeah the 4.6 with no hatchets was another idea that most of the older players thought was kinda Weirdge too when they were asked about it by newer players trying to come up with ideas.
I'm actually kind of over seeing survivors call exhaustion addons "boring".
Do you think being dead harded is fun and thrilling gameplay for the killer?
Also, Iri Head is one in the chamber. Hatchets are easy enough to dodge and it no longer has any snowball potential.

I don't see much value in burning an item slot to have a chance to open the closed hatch as the last survivor or to open the closed hatch after the gates are powered. This is something that might save your life in what, one game in 50? For the other 49 you would have been better off with almost any other item/add-on combo, and the same would often still be true in that 50th game given that bringing stronger items can often allow you to avoid situations where escaping through the closed hatch is necessary. It'd be way too situational to ever justify bringing.
It should be a chance. It should never be a guarantee.
That's asking too much. Period.

When my friend gets tunneled, I literally throw myself in front of the killer, body block for a few seconds until she gets around me to continue to tunnel. Yea, killer doesnt even hit me. You cant blame the victim of tunneling. It's the killers choice to be an ######### at that point.
You can't blame the victim, because they ARE the victim. In a video game about survivors vs killers. They are SUPPOSED to be the victim.
But yes, you can't blame the victim, nor can you blame the killer. It's part of their objective. Imagine gatekeeping killers doing their objective efficiently.

@Zixology said:
You're not the only one. Unfortunately.
People are finally realizing that DS isn't a good method to reduce tunneling. You can still be tunneled right through it. You always could.
Yet, the devs and most fog whisperers actively promote that type of behavior.
EDIT: They promote it by saying it's not bannable since they consider ruining someone's match a "strategy". Giving this reason because someone is bound to ask.
Tunneling IS a strategy. Regardless or not if you like it. You can't give the killer the objective of "kill the survivors" and then slap an arbitrary limitation on it to stop them from making the smart play and getting someone out early for any reason. Usually because they are the weak link.
That would be like saying "survivors can now only work on one generator at a time".
-
@PNgamer said:
Hello,
from this what ive seen atm.... i can say tunneling is absl. out of control atm. Give me a reason to support this game anymore if i cant have fun as a survivor. Maybe it is the best time to quit and play another game, cause it´s not fun to get tunneled every game
That's funny, since the anti tunnel functionality of DS is still intact. People simply stopped using it. I wonder why?
Golly, it's almost like they weren't using it to curb tunneling after all. They just wanted their cocky DS plays. Hmmm, you don't say.
But yes, let's blame tunneling on the DS nerf.

Why in a world it has to be a perk? Just imagine, you are solo player, that want to know if there any totems left to probably prevent noed, but you have to waste 1 of 4 perk slots, while if you are playing swf (not even 4 people, 2 or 3 people can already count it) you are just doesn't need to use this perk, and swf could have from 8 to 16 perk slots.
Devs pls, add totem counter as BASE mechanic, for solo survivors
Why not add value to an underused perk? Small game has always been awesome.
Drop one of your second chances and equip it sometime.

How does this stop DCing resulting in hatch escapes however?
Because, unless an offering was used, there's not a guaranteed escape. Because the hatch hasn't spawned.

So killers already have all gens revealed, all hooks revealed, all gates revealed, huge red explosions in the map when someone makes a noise, huge marks in the floor to follow survivors that run and complete freedom to find the hatch. But they also need having all survivors revealed as part of their base kit?
None of those give you the exact location of survivors.
Don't play the "survivors are so weak" card. It's not a good look.

That solves the frustration some people have, but the key downside is removing all viability from keys as an item. The add-ons and charge time are extremely weak by themselves, so if you're going to substantially limit their ability to open the hatch in useful situations they should also get a charge time buff and add-on rework in order to remain viable. Given their rarity, keys should be strong, just probably strong in a different way than they are now.
They'd still be strong after the changes I proposed.
-
Zanshin shouldn't have a cooldown. The fact that it does is ridiculous.

If Kindred is made base kit, give killers Bitter Murmur basekit.

What is the simple fix to keys?
The problem isn't keys. It's hatch.
Hatch should spawn only when 1 of the following 2 conditions are met:
- All the gens are done.
- Only one survivor remains.
This fixes the biggest issue with keys (more than 1 person escaping before the objective was done) while still allowing the 4 man hatch escape achievement to be doable. Also has the positive side effects of fixing "DCing for hatch" (unless a hatch offering was played of course), and the last survivor camping for hatch (unless a hatch offering was played, but then the killer knows where it is too).
Literally doable in a hotfix level patch. I saw this solution in a youtube video and there's literally no downsides.
-
The first survivor to get hooked gets tunneled out. That's how.
Call it scummy all you want, it isn't scummy. it's called being smart.

Both sides complain.
The difference here is - while both sides COMPLAIN, I rarely ever see a killer literally gatekeep and tell me how to play the game. Tell me to stop doing something etc. I've never played survivor and had a killer come to my chat when I stream to tell me to kill myself for not playing how they wanted.
Survivors? Constant gatekeeping, CONSTANT telling me how to play as if it's some sort of gospel and I get told to drink bleach MULTIPLE times in just a couple of hours of playing.

I always never had issues with Adrenaline. However, I'd be okay with it not being able to pick people up off the ground. If someone is on the ground when the last gen is popped, it should hold off until the survivor is able to move again (similar to if it procs while on a hook)
