That’s whataboutism. I know there’s many busted things survivors have but this topic was specifically about Artist + DMS.
Don't parrot ScottJund. That word was born out of a desire to suppress counterarguments, and is invalid.

@KajdanKi said:
We can talk about killers in same way.
Its very frustrating to go against killer who olays like trash whole match, looping him like a baby just to die on very first hook when gate is open due to NOED and facecamping noob.
If you know you encounter dh each match why dont u use perks giving exhaust debuff???
Camping has a counter. It's called borrowed time, or doing gens, or, you know, not getting caught with the amount of free second chances survivors have. NOED also has a counter. Maps, and MULTIPLE perks that help combat totems. It can be removed before it even exists.
Give me a totem to destroy that removes dead hard before it can even be used, then you'll have a relevant and coherent argument.
-
@sonata93 said:
The perk itself is okay. I mean, I agree it's for sure a 'third health state' as people say, and has the ability to extend a chase by minutes if used at the correct time.
I only think DH is really unfair now because of hit validation. It's so ridiculous that the killer gets the 'hit' and has to sit through the cool-down animation while the survivors get a second chance. It's definitely become a clutch perk.
No. It's not okay. A free second chance with no earning requirement that has that much of an effect on the game is never okay.
-
@GannTM said:
I may love the Artist and the buffed DMS but her with that perk is basically free map pressure while proxy camping the hook. I don’t see how that isn’t worthy of complaints.
There's plenty on the survivor side that is worthy of complaints, and both way more powerful AND annoying that the combo you mention, but if killers complain it's "git gud".
So, I'll say it, survivor mains, shut up and "git gud"

You do realize how truly unbrainful you sound, right? Take this scenario, M*g comes out of the basement. Unluckily, Hillbilly is right behind her. She manages to stun him with the god pallet. She opens the 99ed exit door and gets out.
So even without DS she would still escape.
You will never be right. Sit down.
"unbrainful" isn't a word
Irony.
Your scenario doesn't apply to the main issue.
That being, a survivor gets unhooked after the last gen was completed. They immediately go to the gate and begin to open it, because it wasn't 99'd. The killer, who knows they were hooked near a gate, does the logical thing and goes there. Finds the survivor on the gate, downs them. This survivor didn't have DS, so they were hooked, and sacrificed.
Your entire argument is saying that in this situation, they were being tunneled. No. Who was the killer supposed to go for? Of course they should go for the person on the door. They were not tunneled. They were doing their objective, which is attempting to escape. The killer was doing theirs, which is attempting to prevent that.
You still seem to be on the hill of thinking you're right. You're not. Your hill is a speed bump. Mine is a mountain that you're incapable of climbing. All you are is an entitled DBD player. Which is the biggest issue with the community.

Are you ever going to lose that high and mighty attitude of yours? I'm all for discussing perk balance but not when the person I'm discussing it with acts as though their word is the be all and end all of every single thing they talk about, why not just treat other people with a bit of respect?
I'll lose the high and mighty attitude when I'm conversing with someone who lacks entitlement, and possesses common sense and logic.
Until then, I choose arrogance, because I am unequivocally correct.

ITS STILL TUNNELING. Why else would you be getting hit with it? You make no sense. Sit down.
Incorrect. If you are working on your objective, you can't say the killer is tunneling when they are doing theirs. Getting hit with DS does not mean the killer was tunneling. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about.
You'll never be right. Sit down.
-
After over 8000 hours in this game, I can safely say that YES, survivors do get hate mail.
HOWEVER, to accurately compare the hate mail I get as a survivor to the hate mail I get as a killer? I get more hate mail as killer 10,000:1.
-
@GrayIsTrxsh said:
"its not tunneling"
then what is it? you wouldnt be hit by ds if u werent tunneling. plus it doesnt matter anyways cos if you make it deactivate by opening gates survivors can force it and theyre out anyways.
If you just got off a hook, and your first action is to go and start working on your objective (in this case, opening a door), you are not being tunneled, and trying to say you're being tunneled after being caught progressing the game is straight up entitlement.
Tunneling, by definition, is when a killer ignores everyone else to go after you until you're dead. You are incorrect.
Again, sit down.

Really? I don't mind facing her. I just see her so often that it gets very old.
I was really hopeful that Artist would break the trinity, but unfortunately the nerf to her 'bird mines' was just enough to nudge her out.
In a world of dedicated servers in DBD, I don't get why people consider her "well designed". Ranged killers overall aren't good design, but Huntress is even more annoying because she doesn't just throw hatchets. She throws hatchets with Cadillac sized hitboxes.

If they are progressing their objective, it's not tunneling. That argument has never worked.
Sit down.
-
@indieeden7 said:
I really don't think it needs any more limitations, it's already a well balanced perk.
I mean, you shouldn't be able to progress a game and be invincible. Literally ever. So no, in that, it's not "well balanced". Exit gates are objective, and progression of game.

Dead Hard is getting a slight nerf in 5.5, in that it shouldn't give fake hits anymore.
Honestly though, I can mostly play around DH. CoH now...ugh.
You can't "play around" a Dead Hard for Distance. There is no counterplay to it when used for distance. Aside from being one of only a few ranged killers, and even then.
It needs to be gutted.

Nurse is fine.

Currently? Blight (base kit).
Previously? Hillbilly.

Nurse is not OP but Dead Hard is. Ok dude.
I didn't say anything about Dead Hard in that post. Is someone insecure? Do I spot someone who relies on Dead Hard and will do anything to defend it's honor? LOL
Dead Hard isn't "OP" per say. But it is bullshit. As are all free, unearned second chance perks, on both sides.
-
@gendoss said:
Basically everybody agrees that Nurse is by far the best killer, sometimes even in a tier of her own. Why does nobody care that she's OP? I believe she deserves to be balanced like every other killer but she's barely been changed at all over the years except for her add-ons. I just never see anybody mention nerfing her.
Being the best killer does not an OP killer make. She's not OP, and she has valid counterplay.
Let's talk about things on the survivor side that actually are OP, and don't have valid counterplay.
-
Last time survivor queues got this bad (they were actually worse at the time), BHVR panic nerfed Decisive Strike; and that DID actually make survivor queues better, because no longer could a survivor sit on a gen, in your face, and be invincible after being unhooked.
The only thing that's going to make killers come back now is a heavy nerf to Dead Hard. IMO, Dead Hard, especially now with DH validation, is worse than DS ever was.
-
The nerfs to their addons are so minimal I doubt it will make a difference.

Camping is toxic, at least let's be honest about this. If you want to say "don't dc regardless" then that's one thing. But let's not lie.
Camping is a valid strategy. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's toxic.
By that logic, if a survivor only wants to run main building, which no killer really likes, they are toxic.
You are wrong. You will always be wrong. There is no version of this where you are right.
-
Camping isn't toxic. Entitlement, like yours, is toxic. Be less toxic.

@AstroLive8333 said:
Don't bother reporting people for tunneling or camping.
They don't care. They won't ban someone unless there is a death threat or a hacker. That is it. They won't ban someone for being an @$$h0le and tunneling or camping every hook. Don't waste your time
They should ban for tunneling and camping. They should also ban survivors for blinding at pallets and using dead hard.

No, Survivors want a balanced game. It's not fun to just win every single time in the same way it's not fun for killers to win every single time. Survivors have been on the short side of the win rate for years and years now and we just want some balance.
If survivors lose, it's because they're bad.
Kill rates mean NOTHING in the discussion of real balance.
-
When I play Call of Duty, or any other PvP game, I for one expect the other team to only play in ways that are fun for me to go against. No camping, no explosives, no sniping etc.
Every PvP game is like that, with such entitled communities.

Or is this all just a "look, we removed this mask! We fixed racism" move?

Sounds not very fair to stop a survivor from playing the game by facecamping them
Sounds not very fair to stop a killer from playing the game just because survivors feel they are entitled to a chance to escape.

"Let the grown ups speak" 😭
This is a public forum. If you're just going to respond with passive-aggressive comments when someone raises a counter to your point then why bother commenting in the first place?
I'd rather seem passive aggressive than take a video game so seriously that I think my fun is worth more than others. It's a far worse look than passive aggressive statements.

Fun is subjective, but there is something called consensus. I think the majority would agree that camping and slugging are not fun or engaging strategies - just look at the responses in this thread alone. And that's not mentioning the fact that many of the killers who use those strategies do so out of necessity, not want.
The developers should do what is best for the majority of players. Catering to a minority who seek to ruin the other team's fun is a terrible idea for longegevity of a game lol.
Unfortunately, when it comes to a community so entitled as the DBD community, their consensus means absolutely nothing. Even the devs know that, which is why they don't listen. If they listened to the community, the game would be even more broken than it already is.
EVERYONES fun should be considered. Not just a majority, which just happens to be survivors.

The argument is invalid. You're literally saying that you shouldn't expect to have fun while playing a video game. Like where's the logic? Because I'm not seeing any.
Where's the logic? What about the killer who might get a kick out of the camping playstyle? Or the slugging playstyle? That's supposed to be removed because some survivors don't find it fun? Because survivors babyrage over it like you? Why is your fun more important?
Your entitlement is showing.
I feel like I'm the only one who finds it hilarious when I get camped. OOF. Then again, apparently I'm the only one with the inside scoop that...wait for it...this is a video game. Not real life. :D

By all means, bring the dictionary. All they said was "Tru3 did this, and came up with this". This isn't gaslighting. It's not challenging your sanity in any way. It was stating a fact that something happened and data was gathered.

Strictly speaking, Dead Hard was indirectly buffed by a dedicated server change. It will get nerfed long before NOED, especially since NOED isn't even close to OP, or as powerful as Dead Hard.

This argument is invalid - the point of a game is to have fun. That's what they're made for.
You don't buy a game to hate it and never want to play, you buy it to enjoy it and have a good time.
"I don't agree. Argument invalid."
You've entered the "I have no argument" phase. Let the grown ups speak if you're just here to invalidate.

What's the point of a game if it isn't fun?
Of COURSE people are going to expect a fun match. It's a video game. Having fun is the WHOLE point.
Getting facecamped on your first hook is just objectively not an entertaining or engaging experience. I agree that you can't stop people doing it per se. But that doesn't mean it should be actively encouraged.
What will kill the game is actively encouraging players to go out of their way to ruin the opposing team's fun.
Fun is subjective. If they removed everything everyone thought was unfun, there's a lot that wouldn't exist.
- Huntress
- Dead Hard
- Trickster
- Ruin
- All Other Exhaustion Perks
- Bubba
- Unbreakable
- DS
I could go on. Fun is subjective. Why does your fun take precedence over someone else's?

Valid given the current circumstances? Yes.
Unfun and unhealthy in the long term? Also yes.
I mean, that's purely subjective. It's only unhealthy because people take the game too seriously and have this inner entitlement that they are somehow "owed" a fun game, or a chance to escape.
It's like when killers get mad at survivors for splitting on gens. It's dumb, and so is whining about camping. Same with slugging.
You can not dictate playstyles. That's how a game dies. The biggest issue in DBD isn't camping, slugging, balance, or anything like that. It's players who whine about inconsequential things that are part of the game. Play it for what it is or hop back to Minecraft on peaceful mode.
-

Then fix the aspects of the game that promote slugging and camping, don't encourage it further.
Slugging and camping aren't really problems, though. They're valid playstyles. Both with plenty of counters.

Nerfing something because it's overused is a bad reason to nerf something. Nerfing something because it's imbalanced is an actual good reason. All Exhaustion perks that don't have a specific requirement, Balanced Landing, Lithe, Head On, are all, in my opinion, completely broken and should not exist, though that's mainly speaking in tune to DH/SB.
I know you ain't out here including HEAD ON in that.
