Such is the nature of the community. The community can be almost as bloodthirsty as the in-game killers. I feel sorry for the Devs though. They receive backlash for almost anything that can be seen as a nerf or something negative. Instead of learning how to counteract a Killer's strengths some survivors just expect to use DS and a flashlight as a way to carry them to victory.Global said:They said all the buffs he needs is too big for one update :/so it probably isnt happening soon and if it did survivors are just gonna review bomb the game and harass the devs again so well.....it will never happen

My dear, don't be so rude. Balancing the game, any game in fact, is tricky business. But given your reaction, I'd say the Developers are afraid to make changes due to such disrespectful outcries with no real positive comments for the attempts they have made at getting closer to a more equal balance. But that'll always be the case in these games. If a killer is a bad the survivors are likely to escape. And if the survivors are bad they are likely to be killed. That's just how it is and this game does rely on luck along with skill, as demonstrated by the OP's video. But if they made the totem locations fixed to a certain four or five patterns people would be able to learn the patterns and destroy the totems just as quickly.Envees said:@dannyfrog87 said:
@Khalednazari said:
If 90% of the totem locations weren't worse enough, I present you with this. I wouldn't be more surprised if it was any other map. But this specific map is the most strategic map for totems. Why would a survivor not be tempted to break it immediately? This is the reason most totems go off in the first 15 seconds. @not_Queen please convey this to devs.im sorry but the devs are idiots. they know about the totem spawns are #########. and they do nothing about it. i expect nothing but for them to make a mess of the game more and keep favouring survivors. they buff killers then they take 2 steps back by making it more a pain in the ass to player killer. pretty good job so far lol
I tried the game again this last month after having an extended time off. I am back to not playing again. Killers are still a joke. See you this time around in a year? If the game is still alive then? Devs have their darlings. We all know it.
No deathgarden for me even if it liked it, which i dont. No money from me for DbD ever again. No money for any of their future projects and i will leave my negative review in place. The only thing that has changed is that there are more highly coordinated groups now in the 15-20 range.
Its obviously swf using mics when one guys spots the totem, nobody else is around, and as soon as a leave the chase the guy who saw it the totem is down as soon as a leave.
Actually. Gonna delete the game off of my steam library. Good ridence. Nothing is going to change. Survs will always run the show and balance cannot be achieved. Ever. The powerrole is not the killer for sure. Its the survs.
So....[BAD WORD] you devs.....you can ban this account as well. Go on do it you dumb #########
Balance requires foresight in order to predict how a certain change would impact future killers and survivor gameplay with the introduction of new perks. Most people just look to the present. But to get back to your comment, please, don't be so dismissive and rude. Behaviour have given a lot to the community with free ways to purchase DLC characters (excluding licensed characters which is understandable) and other new features. Problems will always be present in the game like in any other game. And mistakes do happen as the developers are Human at the end of the day and are doing an incredibly difficult job as it is. So, please. Be the person Mr. Rogers would want you to be.
My two pennies on Totem placement? Meh. Some survivors are blind to totems and ignore them whilst others are like Eagles. I think it all depends on two factors, luck and the players. Hell, you could have been texting during the introductory camera turn and missed that totem. I do sometimes. But it's very hard to balance situations like this that are so tightly connected to RNG. -
With the implementation of all non-licensed killers (A.K.A Killers that haven't required any additional costs to be allowed to recreate the character) being available for purchase with a free ear able currency then I'd argue all future chapters including original killers and survivors are in fact free. Though of course there is always the option to buy the characters instantly with real world currency, with a previously made suggestion that purchasing the chapters this way would reward a unique cosmetic. Though I will always buy the chapters due to Behaviour joining the ranks of my favourite gaming companies/organisations/people who make gud games (Platinum Games, FromSoftware, CD Projekt Red) and, plus, the cosmetics are nice to buy too.

I'm a bit late to bring this up but being sassy as a moderator or someone similarly positioned can have other posters perceive sassiness as something else. For example:
During the 'Clowning' around regarding the PlayStation certification process of 2018, there were posts asking for compensation. The true OG, @not_Queen , shut the thread down like a Tier 3 Tombstone Myers with only one gen repaired. But then there were threads following this up saying that it was just another display of the Developers not caring about the community. But hey, unnecessary counterpoint, but people didn't seem to care for @not_Queen and her want to detach her work from her personal life yet people harassed her during streams. And she wasn't even at fault, everyone unrelated to the coding of the game was not at fault. But they deserve props for turning the situation around and now being able to look to the future again.
So, being sassy is a risky thing as a mod. There's no doubt I'd tread very lightly during my first few days if I became a mod but it'd be something to ease into. The other mods would need to teach me how to meme in controlled portions as to not upset anyone. -
Good. I'm still up to do it. It's currently 5:14 AM in the UK, so I can definitely stick around long enough to moderate XD.Peanits said:@JammyJewels said:

I would be a Moderator. A killer and survivor player, I've sunk hundreds of hours (even thousands, PS4 doesn't tell you) and as mentioned I am a PS4 player, so it'd be someone who is able to look into the PS4 DBD communities and see their opinion too. I have lots of time on my hands so I'd be available for the majority of problems. Though I doubt I'd be of any use since I only speak English. And my references in terms of online moderation is severely lacking XDI only speak English as well (not counting the five French words I remember from school). Back when I got into this, I didn't have any experience either. Then before I knew it I ended up as a mod for Dead by Daylight and PAYDAY 2. So never say never. <--- That's my favourite Justin Bieber movie.
I would be tempted to say that more than anything, attitude is what makes or breaks it. Experience can help, but the way you act helps way more.

That's just a problem with darker skinned, darker haired and just generally darker characters. But no matter how dark you are it won't save you from the Clown's bottle toss, Myer's vision, Huntress' hatchets, Doctor's madness, Trapper's traps, Hag's traps or any other power and it's add-on capable of notifying the killer of someone's presence via the power itself or add-ons. -

I had someone asking to lobby up, after I ran the killer around for well over 2 minutes. And he wanted me to join because, and I quote: "I want to play with someone who knows what there doing". You can tell that is someone else because I'd have correctly written they're instead of there. But I just don't see the point. I play solo so friends don't troll me and I can focus on the game without some ass deciding to playing music over the microphone (if you do this, please shove your speaker up your ***) and just less distractions in general. You won't get better by having your friends call out everything, you'll only get better when you're on your own. The onlu thing you learn when playing SWF is that PS+ has given you so many new victims to bully.

Which iteration of Kayako and Samara? The Kayako from the Japanese film is much more terrifying due to the built suspense and the associated fear of the gurgle. The American Films (especially 3) depict her as much more brutal and quick. Hell, her sister being a Ju-On spirit would most likely work better in DBD.Visionmaker said:- Onryō killer (Kayako and Samara)

That. The two hooks and gens automatically given. An awesome change from the Lunar Event's gens which only appeared with one per lucky ticket or whatever it was. Just try to survive as survivor, because the special gens are typically done first, and as killer just try to play normal.fcc2014 said:I got 30 stacks on survivor in two hours. You may not need it. The two per round helps. -
Honestly? Kayako from The Grudge and/or Samara from the Ring.
Samata: All survivors start together, held down by the Entity's tentacles and are forced to watch the tape. Once they are released from the chairs, Samara can haunt them as the match goes on. The terror from the tapes decreases all survivors' repair speed by 70% (7 days) and for each generator completed by a survivor the timer for the tape to begin allowing Samara to hunt them is decreased by a certain amount. Once the timer is up TVs will begin popping up around the map like Doctor Hallucinations, allowing Samara to teleport to them and chase the survivor. If they are facing Samara when hit it is an instant down. A TV is instantly placed in front of the hook when a survivor is hooked and will only turn on, allowing teleportation to it, when a survivor suffering from the tape is near it. Samara won't be able to be seen by unaffected survivors and the survivors can not become unaffected once the tape takes it's toll on them (unless they think of a "Copy tape" mechanic which speeds up the time it takes to become effected by the tape for someone else who is also unaffected).
Kayako: Kayako will be the most agile killer. She will be able to vault Windows as fast as survivors and grab them from the vaulting animation if they are too close. She will be able to phase through pallets just like she does during The Grudge 3 and will crawl everywhere, given how her spine was broken. Her terror radius will be replaced by the chilling gurgle she does but will have the downside of being unable to pull people off of interactions.

It's called "Survive with friends". It wasn't originally in the game so don't expect it to be perfect. It works fine as it is. Don't be lazy and just reinvite your friends.Big_Panda03 said:It's annoying to have to join each time after a match. Unless there already is but just got it today. -
After some initial issues I am able to enter games. But it feels just like the Lunar event, except now you can use Deja Vu to spot out the special gens quicker. I just play normal: do my gens, run if the killer finds me. Simple. I don't see why a differently-skinned objective changes how people play so much. Though I worry for the PlayStation community. A lot of noobs have joined the ranks. It just means more killers will be juked, looped and ask for nerfs whilst new survivors will be dominated by killers and ask for nerfs to killers. Honestly it was a mistake to include Dead By Daylight as a PS+ game.MegaWaffle said:@Mesme said:

So have any of you gotten any of the event cosmetics yet? I know I haven't... Kinda hard at times because of DS and how far hooks spawn. Yeah the servers are really messing up idky but I do hear its because they are being overwhelmed.
I assumed as much and with DBD's track record didn't expect anything less...Still frustrating.
-
Try not wiggling. I was able to win over a Hag. She killed everyone else because they weren't doing the same. To me it seems like the Killer's requirements are often not considered. Survivors may even go out of their way to sabo the hooks. I've seen a drastic increase in the amount of Pig games likely due to this.Eninya said:I've had no problems getting in to play, but I'm probably not going to bother now. Try playing something else in the meantime. I'm playing Bloodborne and trying out some new builds. May even try recreating some DBD characters on there. My theory is that it's all of the new users from the getting the game via PlayStation Plus and it's sort of overloading the servers. I don't know the technical side of it, but I imagine a drastic increase in the player base would cause something like this.Sally55 said:@JammyJewels said:

Couldn't it be a unique perk and not something that already exists? Why not have it be an added pallet stun time. You've still got the strike aspect of it. I mean, I don't think anyone uses DS just to be the obsession.

Same. I hate the animation. They should make a new one, like where the killers grabs the survivor by the throat and just pushes them into their chest/shoulder to hang them over. You can literally kill Jason. Hell, sometimes it causes Jason to run from the survivors if he spots you with Tommy and the sweater girl. You can't fight back against the Killer in Soul at Stake, from what I've seen, and the only problem is the dodging of attacks and the movement speed. It looks more scary than Dead By Daylight, I'll say that much.ShesArebel88 said:The worst of DBD + F13= soul at stake

These two? Well. That'd be 9 survivor skins released, three already released and only two killer skins teased to be released. Killers seem to be getting the low end of the stick cosmetically though I can kind of understand, given the lack of being able to fully appreciate the cosmetics. -
My idea: make cleansing dull totems much faster. But have cleansing activated Hex totems be changed: instead of simply prodding at it the survivor must complete a ritual, which would be half the amount of time required to fix a generator. That way NOED could be more easily prevented and it'd be much more of a waste of time to cleanse a hex totem. Hell, I had a match where I was standing in front of a dull totem and cleansing it when the totem activated with NOED... Hex totems are just a complicated tool because of how much their effectiveness can vary: some games not a single totem is cleansed. In others every single one is destroyed. It all depends on how survivors choose to deal with them.

Having this sort of option might help with a lot of nonsense that can occur.Honeslty, I feel like most would get afraid, and kick you screwingbtjemselves over, but yes this should exist. Keep in mind it activates SB on the hook exhausting you though
