My wish list:
- More cosmetics for Claudette, my main gurl. I have 27/52 and intend to get the rest, along with everything for the Spirit.
- Classes? Like, things that are character specific.
- A functional game.
- A happy and productive year for those at BHVR and everyone that plays with me. Actually extend that to everyone, if they deserve happiness of course.
- For Mathieu to meme himself some more.
-
I’m drinking up the new Claudette and Nea cosmetics. Though Claudette is my gurl (27/52).
-
My advice? Know your terror radius. If you are able to use it to hide your phasing then being somewhat stealthy or surprising should be easy. I’ve yet to experience with a Distressing build on the Spirit but I presume it would actually go down very well.
-
I think Self Care is okay, due to the fact that it either rewards a survivor for good placement (obviously not having the heat interrupted) or winning a chase and then being able to heal if they took a hit. Due to it wasting time I find it to be... balanced?HeroLives said:
The only reason self is considered a “crutch” is Bc if you’re not running it other survivors will most certainly rip your [BAD WORD], run off and leave you, or it requires you Bring a medkit or perk to make up for the lack of that perk in order to heal or be healed by others. So you might as well just bring it. Otherwise you risk wasting substantial time looking for an item through boxes, or finding someone else to heal you.SadonicShadow said:The biggest crutch perk i can think of in this game easily has to be Decisive Strike. If you want the ultimate crutch meta. In my opinion that would be Decisive Strike, Selfcare, Sprint Burst and Adrenaline. (not saying selfcare in itself is a crutch as i think the perk is fine it is just usually apart of every build especially crutch builds)
So maybe something more clutch should replace it, like Deliverance. -
Or... how about this.
You can gain 100% extra blood points by completing actions as you would now, taking hits and saving people.
BUT the change I would propose is giving another added percentage, perhaps also going to 100%, based on your Altruism emblem. -
If it’s been revived then perhaps it’s a sign of times where players are wishing to voice their complaints. It’s more proficient than making a whole new thread.Judgement said:@Peanits Sorry to bother you but can you close/lock this thread?
It’s six months old and been necro’d multiple times, it’s just gonna take up space on the front pages as a dead discussion. -
For me it’s not the game, rather the player base. I’ve had DC’s, lag switching killers (on Console, mind you) and wait times that make me regret buying the new cosmetics. Perhaps I need to try intentionally depipping since I’m Rank 6. Though with the luck I’ve had... It won’t be so hard.
-
Have you noticed an increase in the amount of Mori’s? I’ve not had a game yet where the Killer wasn’t using a Mori.Sel said:Survivor side. Have to wait around 5-10 on average, and every time I get into a lobby, me and all the other people in the game are in red ping. Surely can't be a coincidence as we've gotten into about 6 lobbies or so before deciding to go off.
-
Horrible for me. Waited for a full half an hour for a game.
-
I’d love a bonus to characters. I’ve always wanted to be a healing based Claudette.
-
Happy New Year from Gloucestershire. Too bad I can’t hear Big Ben but at least I can hear the cries of survivors and the stunned grunts of Killers alike to signal the new year.
-
I think comparing these two perks is valid, given that they both reward poor gameplay: a lost chase for survivors and fixed generators for killers. However, countermeasures for these perks varies.
Decisive Strike can be countered via perks that benefit the killer in other aspects. Enduring is not only valuable as a counter to DS but it also aids the killer when he is completing the objective and chasing down survivors, a far more rewarding counter.
No One Escapes Death is different as the counterplay to it is involved with active gameplay. Survivors being required to do a side objective to counterplay any perk is much more dire than simply equipping a perk that will benefit in completing your objective.
I dislike both perks. Decisive Strike is a perk with a design and intention that has been misconstrued by the community and is now a symbol of toxicity. NoeD is a perk that many look at and are outraged by due to the connotations made by others towards DS and it’s rewarding of bad plays, and so people see NoeD as the Killer’s equivalent... Which it is, in terms of it’s activation.
In my opinion? DS should only be able to activate after you’ve been hooked once, so at least then in terms of continuity you can say that the survivor is stabbing the killer with a part of the hook. And for NoeD I’d rather it activates like Devour Hope and rewarded someone for playing well. -
Sadly I only ever experience poor FPS as Killer... I had one experience where, after being unhooked, spurts of blood were continuously coming out of my poor Jeff, and it caused the frame rate to drop tremendously, perhaps to as low as 10fps. I main survivor nowadays simply because the experience is more smooth. I fear ever buying the kimono for the Spirit (my favourite killer) in case the sleeves of the kimono cause a frame drop when I play as her. Oddly though I experience slower FPS when playing as killers such as the Legion and the Huntress.
-
My unpopular opinion:
The game is balanced. I’ve only struggled as a Killer/Survivor when facing people who are actually good at the game. -
I play as Claudette. No, not because of her camo. Rather I begun playing with her as a survivor due to her role seeming to be that of a healer. And ever since then I just grew to like the way she looked. I’ve picked up Jeff and intend to make him my second “main” survivor because he seems like a loveable cuddly guy. Plus he’s artistic. I refuse to play as Quentin (he creeps me out) and I have recently grown to dislike Adam and Kate. I just don’t like Kate’s voice at the moment for some reason, not to mention the physics on her hair can make her look funky at times.
-
I’ve had many killers tell me they’ll get me banned for body blocking a hook, to which I have to explain that We’re Gonna Live Forever is literally built for such an act to be rewarded. However, I believe that survivors bodyblocking other survivors and killers body blocking survivors, if made in an attempt to prevent the survivor from playing, is bannable.

It is a cosmetic bug, so stop belittling people.
You’re being unnecessarily rude to someone who is just participating in a discussion. Everyone’s points are equally important in being heard, so disrespecting someone is just uncalled for. As the Moderator has stated it is a glitch. BHVR will fix it, no doubt, but they are most likely prioritising more important matters concerning the uproar about Legion and several bugs that have been causing crashes and so forth. -
The Winter Solstice is temporary. The background will change, and as such doesn’t actually require fixes as it doesn’t affect gameplay significantly. I’d rather they focused on aspects that are staying like when the game crashes whilst in the store, or audio problems and map problems they’ve been having.popoles said:

I’d consider having Bill on PC a disadvantage. Whilst you get a cool new survivor his perks are blocked behind the Bloodweb. On Console they are slotted as default perks, able to be unlocked at any time.Gamzello said:What rank do you normally play in or range around in? This is honestly a more "quantity or quality" question you're asking right here tbh.
I'm pretty sure in lower ranks for both console and pc you'll always find lobbies faster. In higher ranks it's already known for taking awhile. Especially for killer.
Reporting system actually works on PC not console at the moment. Devs are working on it apparently.
You have Bill on PC. There are more active PC players on this forum, plus on the game for sure. You get to play the PTB, console can't do that. FPS are a lot better too.
Honestly, this is coming from a console player...Play DBD on PC.

Killers:
1) Spirit
2) Legion
3) Wraith
Survivors:
1) Claudette
2) Jeff
3) Nea
I love the Spirit for design and gameplay, the Legion because the whole “a person just like you” aesthetic is an idea I’ve had for a long time along with his very mobile gameplay whilst Wraith is just a cool stealth killer.
I have Claudette as my main because of her description making her seem like a healer (which is a role I try to play in all games) and I love Jeff because he is described as having a heart of gold or something along those lines. Nea is a favourite because of her design and her backstory, being a misunderstood artist. I can relate, aside from the whole rebellion thing. -
To be honest? It’s just been average games for me. I had a killer and survivor duo at one point, was farmed to death, but aside from that? Nothing much. Though I did save one guy with the firecrackers, which felt very nice.
-
The YouTuber in question did make jokes in his video about the consequences. He’s been banned before for trying to illegitimately regain Legacy cosmetics and should fully know the consequences, as should those that try it themselves. It’s not on BHVR’s shoulders to moderate the consequences of altering the game just like how it is not on EA’s part to moderate any mods to their games.

Many still have issues with the grind. Especially if you’re a completionist and want every survivor and killer to be prestiged then the grind would be horrendous. But that’s obviously a minority. The majority can make do, though perhaps not at the speed they’d want. I’m a survivor main and typically I only get 20,000 blood points if I’m running my usual build. It only reaches a maximum of 50,000 with WGLF and this is all with normal gameplay and as little rewarding toxicity as possible. BP offerings are handy but are they really necessary? That, I believe, is the general consensus of this post.Gorgonia said:If you remove offerings and you increase the bps rewarded within the game you would progress way too fast throughout the bloodweb. I don’t know if that’s what is expected or intended.
There are 3 scenarios:
1) current bp rewards + offerings
2) current bp rewards + no offerings = the bloodweb would require half the bps to level
3) improved bp rewards + no offerings = give or take, 150% to 200% faster progression depending on how much they improved the bp rewards. -
It may be due to connection. I’d know, I live in an area without fibre and without any good providers. It can take longer for worse connections but some killers have godlike connections that you can connect to instantaneously. But good things come to those that wait, and I’d severely discourage any intentional depipping. If you’re a decent survivor you will know how hard it is to naturally depip, so you might have more luck in finding a match the higher you get.
-
I’d like emotes to express appreciation. There are too many times where gratitude could only be shown with a quick crouch which seems silly. Or for killers, especially those who are empathetic, can have emotes to put away their weapon or crouch down to carry a survivor.
There are an awful lot of nice people who play as the violent role, as I’m sure the devs are aware. And there are many survivors who understand the struggles of a killer. Maybe allowing people to show that would be a nice addition to the game. -
It’s best to try and be patient. Whilst disappointing it is just a cosmetic purchase, at the end of the day. Eventually you will be able to buy it and dress with the cool swag but, for the time being, patience is the best choice we can make.
-
I have made Calm Spirit a perk I never take off, just in case I’m facing him.

Thank you very much, the same wishes go out to you. This was well put and rather respectful, an objective opinion and how I wish many conducted themselves. Perhaps if we were to do so the criticism given might go through to the developers with more validity.Cymer said:They don't have to play the game, at least not to the extent we play it.
They have their vision of the game and at it's base it resonates with something in us.
If they would play the game, they would understand it better, what would help them approach obstacles within the game from a different point of view.
Thanks to amazing people like @not_Queen who collects and rephrase our complains, wishes and suggestion into a constructive message for the devs, like a interpreter, the game progress into a better future. The more they listen/have great community managers like @not_Queen and @Patricia our voice will get heard. Even the devs themselves are on this forum and try to learn from us directly like @Janick.
The problem is, the most of us fail to communicate in a constructive and reinforcing way, so after reading "toxic" and negative comments and topic about your beloved game over and over again you just give up, to protect yourself. DBD is like the child of BHVR and seeing it being bullied just hurts them.
@not_Queen understands that we as a community love the game and because we are so emotionally invested we sometimes fail to hit the right tone within our posts and comments. But this love and passion is why she describes us as an amazing community.
At this point, thank you to all the devs and supportive managers of BHVR!
Communication is everything. The more insight and clarity we have, the more we understand each other and can help each other.
Wish you all a great day and happy gaming! -
You’ve stumped me in terms of their reason for remaining. But I suppose a discussion is to be had in asking if they should even really be around. Would more effective (spawn location altering, hook amount altering) types of offerings be a sound idea?Ryuhi said:@JammyJewels said:

They used to have more meaning or more effects on the match, but the drastic ones that added fog or a darker moonlight have been removed. Another issue of balance, that is what. And unfortunately they get enough hassle about that as it is.
Ebony mori changes everything tbh.
But they’ve implemented additional means of getting a Mori, like Rancor. Who’s not to say even the Mori offerings will go? Perhaps all Offerings will go but then what would replace the Bloodpoint boosting offerings?
Bloodpoint offerings are just filler in the blood web. breaking them down simply, the majority of them are 50% bonus to one category for 3k BP cost, 75% for 4k, and 100% for 5k. The most you can get in a category ingame is 8k. This means that:
Common offering caps at 4k bonus points (net gain of only 1k)
Uncommon offering caps at 6.5k points (net gain of 2.5k)
Rare offering caps at 8k (net gain of 3k)Now keep in mind this is based off of the MAXIMUM that can be earned in any of these categories, and you'll see how flawed the gains are with this system. On top of all of that, you can only use one at a time, so you will have to play X amount of games to even attempt to get your full return on investment.
Some of them like pudding/cake/streamers/etc are perfectly fine as it is, but all of the weaker ones do nothing but contribute to the grind.
-
But that will always be a thing, and it’s a thing in every game. The experienced are so because they have taken the time to learn exploits. The Devs are trying to balance it for the majority of players who might not know any sort of exploitable or powerful way of playing. If they balanced it only around experts then they’d leave the casuals to suffer and vice versa.Malakir said:

how ?
As they always did
Raw stats which means nothing since I can take the same raw stats on any other pvp online game and have the same results
Give more to newer players and less to experienced ones
But they don't take anythink away from the hight ranks every time they add new things for newer players the experienced ones exploit them as much they can
This is the core problem! *Clapclap* -
I suppose that’s brought up another point. Kate’s voice (who I thought I’d have as a second main) goes straight through me, in a bad metaphorical way. Claudette was my choice as well on day 1. I’m more hurt by acts of unjust complaints. Like when Not_Queen was harassed in her private streams about the PS4 update delay. Complaints about the game are fine. It’s the times when the people behind it are targeted when I have a problem.Dr_doom_j2 said:Psssh, I'm so sick of seeing this kind of stupid ass post... You know, we, real human beings who have lives and jobs (some of us with jobs and lives much more difficult than that most if the dev team) paid for a product, and as a technically unfinished product that thrives on a business model of continued expansion, we as ths consumer have not only the right to complain, but a duty to voice our opinions on the product we spent labor earned income on as well as discuss our opinions about it with others so as to inform both the developers of what we want, as well as other customers of what to realistically expect if they so choose to also purchase this product.
You sitting there telling people to stop complaining, to stop voicing our displeasures with the game, does absolutely nothing. It doesn't affect change, it doesn't help anyone see the light or error in their ways. It provides absolutely no purpose other than to try and silence people who have legitimate issues with the game. All you're saying is basically "come on guys, it's not that bad, we shouldn't be bothered, just thankful that these devs let us play in their wonderful playland, we should be so lucky to have whatever they give us".
That's effet.
That's empty plattitude.
That's sucka #########.
People want to see the game improved. It will never be perfect, of course, but it's well within our rights to complain and discuss to try and find ways to improve the product we're planning to invest both hard earned cash and easily wasted time into. -

A-men to that last part. If they were recognised as being developers whilst playing the game they’d be harassed so horribly. Hell, look at how some streamers get treated sometimes in-game.thesuicidefox said:Probably has to do with the fact that the moment they do everyone will start to pester them about everything about the game, which will then spiral into a toxic cesspool of insults.
And just FYI, not many developers play their own games at a super high level. But that doesn't mean they don't understand it at that level, more that they just don't put in the time or effort to play that way. If they play the game they make it's going to be to have fun. I highly doubt any dev at BHVR would have fun playing with the community if people talk to them the way they do on the forums.

They’ve done similar things. Kate’s “Boil Over” effect was something that was present before she came out, as all hooks in view but with no walls blocking sight of the hook would have the hook’s aura be non-present. But they had mentioned, around the time of the Spirit’s development/release that they were thinking of adding this Locker buff. I don’t think BHVR are that desperate for cash just yet.

Well. Anything of that Calibur warrants leaving the game. I mean... Unless you're cold or sociopathic I think everyone would choose to help their mother over a game.CoolAKn said:Only time I have ever DC'd was at the start of the game, my mom started having heart problems (which obviously takes priority). It wasn't anything serious, and didn't actually merit the DC, probably would have gotten a stillness crow or two, or found by the killer and hung.

I hoped, from hearing about the perk, that Boil Over would provide a counter to Iron Grasp, like how Predator countered Lightweight. But they're evidently going in a different direction.

I DC if I load into a game and I'm unable to move, start teleporting wildly or there's an aroma of hacker. Sometimes you've got to DC, or you'd be stuck looking at a screen of bull for a long time.
