controller is hard mode anyways on many killers it seems ^^

Yeah it is. The new only killer I actually consider unplayable with a controller is Trickster. The rest at doable but way harder than needs be.

Hello, I am new to this whole discussion thing. I would like to bring up a point about the differences I have with a certain killer across both platforms, console and computer. There are some changes that I think would benefit console players to be as good as computer players. For example, I love playing the huntress. On computer, I am completely fine with her because I know how good I can be with her. The smoothness of the mouse making my shots more easier, but the fast flicking I can do also helps if someone tries to disorientate me. However, on console, this isn't the case. The joysticks do not have enough smoothness to get a good shot off, nor does it have the flick to it that a mouse does.

I've been playing, and still am playing, huntress on my console to get better at her, but the more I play, the more I realize that I can barely get a shot off when I go against computer survivors. Now take into account that if I took off crossplay, it will take me 30+ minutes or even more, to actually get a match. Console players are literally forced to put on crossplay if they want to get a match, meaning almost every single match, you will get at least 1-2 if not the whole lobby being computer players. Now we all know that computer players have it much easier than a console player, especially in my experience, so why not have keyboard and mouse accessibility for console players? It would make the game fair between both types of players.

Controllers cannot compare to anything that a keyboard or mouse can do, and I just get frustrated that I can't do anything about it to win matches against computer players because it is so much easier to disorientate a console player than a computer player. To add, the joystick movement for huntress is like a guessing game. For example, if someone is not going straight forward and is trying to dodge your shots and they take a hard right or left, you have to essentially "flick" your joystick to the right or left, but the thing is, you have to time it when to let go of the joystick, which makes everything much more harder for a console huntress player. This makes the chance of missing way higher than it needs to be. And you can't be smooth with the joysticks either, because if you do, your camera will move slower, making it unlikely to even reach the survivor before they hide behind an obstacle.

For another example that I just thought of, the perk enduring. No matter what perk level, either it be 1, 2, or 3, I simply cannot hit the survivor. What do I mean by this? Whenever you swing your weapon towards the survivor, but they drop the pallet right as you are on the other side. So both you and the survivor are on the other side, but you just got stunned. Enduring comes into play and with PC, you can flick super hard and down them instantly, however, console is not the same. You have to drag your joystick, but by the time you're swinging, they are already on the other side running away. Sure, maybe I can turn my joystick sensitivity up, but do you really think I want to mess up everything I have learned with each killer? Now I will have to relearn how to aim with higher sensitivity. It is a long and drawn out process that can just be eliminated with a simple feature, adding keyboard and mouse accessibility to console players. It is only fair. If there is crossplay, there should be keyboard and mouse features for console players. It's either, A. Turn off crossplay and wait many minutes up to many hours to get a match with your fellow console players, or B. Turn on crossplay, but risk having mostly computer players in your lobbies and possibly losing almost every game (depending on your killer) you play because it is much harder for console players to go against computer players.

Whew, that was a lot. I don't mean to come across rude or entitled, but I believe other people struggle with this too. Just wanted to point out the unfairness of the situation in how we killers don't have the opportunity to play on a keyboard and mouse on console. If the BHVR team sees this, why don't you give it a try for yourselves? Play at least 25 matches or more on computer, then 25 on console, specifically with huntress considering it is way harder for her on console.

Here is a list of killers that I believe have a harder time or could have a harder time on console than computers: Huntress, Nurse, Bubba, Oni, Deathslinger, Executioner, Trickster, (P) Blight, (P) Clown, (P) Nemesis, (P) Mastermind, (P) Cenobite, (P) Plague.

    (P) stands for possibly, meaning they could possibly have a harder time. I could go into full depth, but that will be way too long. I'm mostly taking into account for their powers and how it could be hard for joysticks. Anyways, thanks for reading this and I hope y'all agree with me, because this seriously needs to be changed. I love this game, but it is frustrating on consoles. Thanks!

I hear ya, and I too wish for M&K support, among a great many other good things for the consoles.

But sadly they've stated many times they have no plans to add it.

  • And if there's no lobby there's no more survs last second swapping bs either.

I think we should test this.

  • @Emeal said:

Let me get this straight, So what you are saying is... that TCM is better than DbD huh? That seems like the general vibe here.

    I'm just kidding ๐Ÿ˜Ž

1 . Multiple objectives have been on the cutting board for a long time, Totems were one and well its not the second coming. But multiple escapes is already in the game, There are the Gates or the Hatch. I dont generally look at dbd and think, oh the problem here is, "there isnt enough escape routes" I personally like how simple dbd is, but I think we could add things to the Generators.

Such as BIG Generators that take long to repair, or OLD generators that do more skill checks. All with new colors ofc.

2 . I don't want to play a game where every survivor is trying to min/max and everyone is playing the same Survivor to get a possible advantage, as you can see in TCM atm, if you try to play "Connie" everybody wants to swap with you or quit if they dont get to play her. As well as Cook players who just go AFK cause hes so bad to play as.

If bHVR can find a way to give Survivors a VERY minor and VERY inconsequential ability that would be great, but I dont think they even want to open that can of Worms. Like look at the problems already in TCM. I dont want that here lol.

3 . While your point is true, Look at it from the other angle. The Killer gameplay in TCM is incredible stale and boring and that has nothing to do with because DbD has more DLCs. Its because the gameplay is design for interactions, there is a reason bHVR went away from the old hiding mechanics. Even tho you STILL can hide and its funny too.

There are also design reasons why dbd Survivors are very lackluster with their life, because dbd fosters a game that is more about trying a new strategy and fail over and then adjusting, over failing and its game over.

Like there are reasons I have not bought TCM because all that I can see of that game, I don't think I would enjoy playing Killer in it AND DbD already provides a WAY better experience. Idd only accept it as a free gift to try it fully as there isn't a demo 40 dollars is a lot for such a gamble.

We shall see how TCM stands the test of time, but I'm certainly not impressed by that game when it comes to this experience that both games provides. But you certainly bring attention to some points that bHVR should pay attention to. Those are:

    1. Try again and harder with secondary objectives.
    2. Generator variations.
    3. Survivor differences, very minor ability.
    4. Make sure not to kill off stealth in DbD.

What we think of those points are subjective, but Idd say 1, 2 and 4 are super important in the future for dbd.

To your point about Survs being somewhat unique but nothing game-breaking, I've always advocating making practical use out of the charms.

Have one of Claudette's increase healing by like 0.5%, or one of Trapper's increase the time to set or escape a trap by a third or a second, or one of Feng's vaults a third of a second quicker.

Things like that, nothing huge just a tiny bump. But universal so they can still go on any surv or on any hook.

I'm saying that the blocking feature is not functioning in the game itself, based on PC Steam. For console users, they essentially can't block anyone since they can't view profiles, which effectively means there's no difference between this and an anonymous mode for PC Steam users.

Ahhhh I have no idea how our PC cousins do things.

For me on Xbox I can always find anyone's profile once I've played with them, and apparently DBD's devs system tried to override that or something of the sort. So no Anonymous Mode for us.

DBD has sold over 5 million copies across all platforms as of 2019

As of 2022 the game is reported to have reached 50 million players https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_by_Daylight#Sales

This doesn't account for DBD mobile as we don't interact that playerbase.

According to Steamcharts the all time peak of players on steam was just 105,052 players. https://steamcharts.com/app/381210

Now consoles notoriously refuse to give out their player base numbers, but steam spy estimates that between 10-20 million owners are on steam. That means 30-40 million owners spread across every other platform. https://steamspy.com/app/381210

PC is the best platform to run the game on as it present the least amount of technical issues, but we haven't been the largest demographic for this game in quite a while.

That's the clearest breakdown of the playerbase numbers we can honestly get. Ty.

Altogether the consoles have greatly outnumbered PC since around six months before the RE chapter or so. The (legit) Epic players probably didn't add in a lot of numbers to PC either, and Stadia pooped out.

Not even Steam players would ever see a VAC ban in this game for the simple reason that this game don't use VAC, afaik.

DbD uses EAC (AKA Easy Anticheat), which honor it's name by being one of the easiest anticheats to bypass in the market right now. It's like having 4 locks in the main door but every time you go out you leave all the windows open.

    Yikes

In terms of the second question, there isn't really a way. They can blacklist DBD on Nvidia Freestyle, but then everyone moves to reshade and nothing has been solved. Even if they were able to ban all third party applications, the physical monitors themselves often come with ways to change brightness/contrast/colour now, and good luck creating a program that can detect every single different piece of Hardware ever made, and all Hardware made in the future too.

I always feel peeps greatly overestimate the rigs many of us consolers are running.

It's still common to be literally on the couch a dozen feet away from an old ass tv, controller in hand listening to the dubious quality of that TV's speakers. Very much like I did when I was young on the ol' Colecovision.

I then get to explain all that to the modern gamer with an awesome PC sitting five inches from an awesome monitor and enjoying 120fps with a $200 headset. When I say yup being a DBD console killer is quite the experience, they dumbfoundedly ask why we even bother. I always encourage our PC cousins to borrow a friends PS4, fire up DBD, run the killer of their choice, and venture into the middle room of Lery's.... ๐ŸŽฎ

I mean... I don't know. The only time I really feel like the PC vs Console debate matters is when it comes to killers with aiming powers (Huntress, Trickster, Slinger).

You could argue Nemesis and Wesker, I guess, but they're not so bad on console.

Singularity is now on that list imo.

  • We all have a love hate hate relationship with DBD after a time. It is uniquely addictive.

  • So Steam either changed a policy or fixed it's enforcement? Not on the devs.

Nexflix ended the agreement for the Stranger Things license? Did the devs try to keep it and couldn't work something out? If so, then not on the devs.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I'm not surprised he thinks that. MFT is a nice boost to those like him, who are already good in chase. He would of course notice the benefit to him. MFT on an average player might get them an extra loop if they have some understanding of tiles. That player wouldn't see what the fuss is all about.

This is my assessment as well. I term it a "high MMR" problem, because in the hands of the very skilled survs it's beyond useful in chase, and can feel busted as lots of perks do at that level.

For the vast rest of us normies you get a loop or two more at most, or maybe to that window, and get slapped then, triggering the endurance effect. And that's best case scenario.

  • @Ebonbane2000 said:

    This is really sound advice.

Playing both sides will definitely make you better in either role. You'll be surprised the little things survs can do to hide or sneak or get behind you. Playing as a surv will help dispell the mystery whenever you ask yourself as a killer "How df they do that?!?"

It was due out last September, but ran into problems and is delayed, no time frame given.

I'm sure a lot of people can agree we need a way to transfer items, killers/survivors, and cosmetics to our newer, cross platform console/PC. There should be a verification of emails, and requests on both ends to make sure it's the right player.

You're asking for Cross Progression. This was supposed to happen between Switch and PC this past September but that deal fell through. I don't think they have updated anything about that situation since. Those of us on Xbox don't even have that tiny shred of hope.

I understand that anonymous mode has been added for streamers.

    But what's the reality?

In fact, very few streamers use anonymous mode.

Most of the users who use anonymous mode behave in a non-manner manner, or Cheater users are reality.

Even if you can report it when you're on anonymous mode

We can't block profiles because we don't know who they really are.

As for the features that can be blocked in the game, it was available for a short time right after release,

but now the blocking function is not working at all.

He's just a shell with text.

People who don't want to show their profile have no idea why the game supports anonymous mode

when they have a Steam profile private feature.

This is not just a matter for survivors. I think anonymous killers are the same problem.

People who thought anonymous mode was the problem wrote posts on the forum

It's heartbreaking that I don't have any intention of improving the function I've already added.

If it's really a feature for streamers, I think it's right to apply to streamers above a certain follower so

that their accounts can be given the option of using anonymous mode or not.

We think it's fair to use anonymous mode if you want to use it like that but make sure we

block the profile of who they are so we don't play games with them anymore.

I don't think this kind of operation is right. No matter how much the developer processes the report,

it won't be processed immediately, and there will be light sanctions on those who don't want to play the game

at all, and we have to keep playing with them because we don't recognize them even if it's processed.

Us on Xbox cannot even use the Anonymous Mode at all, and the blocking feature only prevents communication not matchmaking.

the lobby is a cool feature i really don't wanna see it go cuz of minor inconveniences.

nothing Survivors can switch to last second that should make a killer dodge (flashlights & high prestiges) are not a reason if you're confident and if you're not you can dodge in the loading screen i guess.

I've always been fond of the lobby screen too, but these days it might be simpler to skip it entirely. And the killer leaving while loading in wastes everyone's time.

The biggest problem I see with it is all the lobby dodging/shopping, in either role, which wreaks their matchmaking system. We moan & grown about the MMR not working, but this is the main cause, so it doesn't even get a fair chance to function correctly. And players leave for so many reasons, be it prestiges, cosmetics, backfills, suspected SWF, tea leaves, whatever.

Then add in that surv swapping nonsense, plus the devs having to moderate a chat most players cannot even use, and I'm not longer convinced the lobby is really worth having anymore. To me these aren't minor inconveniences.

  • That last-second swapping bs survs can do really should have been eliminated long ago.

I get that sometimes players are using the bloodweb on another character while they wait, but imo it's done either to avoid the killer dodging or for another abusing reason.

The idea of not having a lobby at all would solve this and has been brought up a few times around here, even by me. I think that is worth testing.

  • @CammyChameleon said:

Since the event, I have been grinding Singularity and have played nearly 1000 games as him. Just last week I got him to P100, and since then I have been having people come into chat and ask me for tips and tricks, but more importantly a lot of people asking how I can stand playing him so much...

I usually answer with this, One, I love playing Singularity because his whole concept and power is very fun and interesting to me, and I love being able to control a large portion of the map with my pods and having a somewhat decent chase power.

People usually then bring up their issues that they encounter when playing singularity.

    • Pods are constantly disabled, and It feels like I have no power at all for most of the match.

For this, I totally agree with... however only when starting out.

At first It is almost unbearable learning to spam your pods to make the survivors use as many EMPs as possible, only to have them get rid of the 10 -20 seconds of "podding" you did, all with ONE EMP. The EMPs are by far the most crucial factor when it comes to determining what deters people from playing this killer.

While I generally don't have an issue when it comes to the EMPs, it is simply because I am constantly spamming my pods, making sure nobody is holding onto EMPs, and it's just A LOT of work for such little pay off.

The main issue that remains with EMPs is their MASSIVE range. The 24 meters for one EMPs is quite literally insane. I'll have times where I have something I really need to defend and put two pods far apart (or what I think is far enough) only to see a survivor come in with one EMP and just barely disable both. This part is what is the most annoying about this killer. I've also never understood the purpose of the slip-stream spreading between the survivors when one single EMP can remove it from both of the survivors. If you want them to actually fear grouping up, then make it so it's more punishing, so an EMP can only remove one slipstream at a time. This will make it so survivors can't remove all of your hard earned pressure so easily. And make the killer feel a lot more smooth and less chaotic not having to be spamming your camera all match just to use your power. On top of this, the range of the EMP should be reduced to half of what it's at currently so it's not being used in such a large radius to remove so much of the killers power. I had a team yesterday that made it nearly impossible to win with the amount of EMPs they were using and always had. I would check all of my pods to see them constantly disabled, and then see they would still be holding another EMP ready to just disable it again. While this hasn't really been an issue before (for me), on really strong maps, this can be excruciating to play against and make you feel powerless. Perhaps the duration of the disabled Biopod could be reduced some more to make this feel more balanced.

    • "His chase potential just feels Awful, I teleport and it feels I lose distance and give them another loop around the pallet"

While this part mostly just comes from learning Singularity, I think this is a very valid complaint. Playing Singularity without the exhaustion add on, or the 5% extra move speed is almost impossible against a good team. (Especially if they have Made For This). That 5% he gets from his add-on feels almost necessary to even have a chance to use your power in chase. Which is why most people say he feels like so much work for so little effort.

You already have to be trying really hard to keep people slip-streamed, even in chase, and then once you do you have a pretty lack lustered chase power that gets countered easily with not doubling back and simply pre-throwing the pallet.

For fixing this, I think making the 5% speed base kit in his Overclocked mode would make this killer 10X more barrable for newer and experienced players. Having to rely on add-ons of purple rarity every match just doesn't feel the greatest, especially when it's not that strong.

Running the speed add-on makes him feel actually playable against a good survivor in chase, and even then, it can still be difficult to catch them.

    • "Improve the placement detection of Bipods"

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be given the go to place a pod only for it to glitch out and not get placed, or the amount of times I get the prompt to teleport to a survivor and then it places another biopod instead.

This is more just a QoL change, but it gets VERY frustrating after you've played a lot of him.

Summary for those of you who don't want to read this all:

    • Reduce the range of EMPs
    • Make EMPs only remove one slip-stream per EMP (making the spreading effect between survivors more punishing)
    • Make his 5% speed add on part of the base-kit overclocked mode
    • Improve the placement detection of Bipods

With these changes, I think this would give players a much smoother and more enjoyable experience playing Singularity, especially when they are just starting out.

Seeing he has the lowest kill rate in the entire killer roster definitely gives warrant to some buffs/QoL changes, and I hope that at least some of this feedback is helpful!

P.S. This killer is still fantastic to play as, and against! I just wish I got to play against more of them, and improving Singularity's gameplay hopefully will encourage that!

I don't see how this killer could be more enjoyable or effective while using a controller.

In case you aren't familiar, Filters are 3rd party programs that change the aspect of your game, from allowing the game to look brighter to specifically enhancing one particular color such as red (red light, scratch marks).

Equalizers are audio software that modifies the output of sound you hear from your pc, you can tweak it so Footstep, Breathing, and Injure Groaning sounds are more audible.

I am using nVidia filter at the moment because the game is simply too dark and blurry. So I never understood the frustration of other players talking about "cheating filters" until I saw this person using Reshade (the person in question will remain unnamed).

Here are a few examples, tell me, do you think this looks like "the game doesn't look good, so I changed it a bit" or does it look more like "I'm doing this on purpose to get an unfair advantage over other players".

There is a survivor in that red light, in case it is hard to see.

On the second topic, Equalizers, there are players that have special equalizer audio settings for EVERY SURVIVOR. And they set it up in the lobby before the game starts.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KEWJCIPC7TEL/image.png

    COMMON EXCUSES:

"They offer very little advantage for a LOT of work".

Ok so if I have to work really hard to create a cheat that makes me 0.00001% faster, which would be insignificant, then that should be somehow... accepted by other players? No! Let's call it by its name, this is cheating and that is that. This isn't about "making the game look good" anymore, look with your own eyes, this thing is getting way out of hand, and it is time to do something about it.

If it provides such an insignificant advantage as they keep telling us, then why do they take time to enable a specific filter at the start of every match, or set the audio equalizer in the loading screen, every - single - match? Those are public games btw, not comp. If it would be so insignificant you wouldn't waste your time doing all this at the beginning of EVERY match. You would simply have a general filter.

The equalizer excuse goes like "Well you can up the volume anyway to hear better". Which is a lie, simply upping the volume comes with the unwanted side effect of every sound being loud, not only is it unpleasant, but it also drowns the important sounds. While equalizers allow you to single out what type of sounds you want to be more intelligible.

    SOLUTION:

We should have a few (2-3) in-game filter presets made by developers that don't offer any unfair advantage, and then forbid 3rd party programs such as nVidia filters and Reshade from interacting with the game.

As for the Equalizer problem, I don't have an idea yet, maybe you can come up with something.

I know this is a long post, but I've been following this discussion for a long time and I've always been on the side of pro-filters, but this... this is too much, I had to say something, this is simply cheating at this point and I don't condone such behavior.

TLDR: Filters and Audio software are being used to gain huge unfair advantages. This is not about making the game "look a little bit better", this is downright cheating at this point, see for yourself.

    Two questions:

    1. I'm on Xbox so I'm thinking I cannot do any of this, correct?

    2. How could the game know, let alone block, programs running outside of DBD?

are you trolling or just really lack understanding of singularity that much?

i've been playing this killer for 2 months nonstop and when I'm telling you it's not worth the effort because it's not worth the effort, it really is like that.

to get any meaningful results against decent survivors (the ones that actually apply counterplay in chase and don't camp pallets / waste EMP for a single slipstream cleanse) you need to put in absurd amount of effort into constantly managing cameras (placing, adjusting, aiming, doing that on constant repeat nonstop even midchase). and if you don't do that, you're playing this killer wrong because you're just reducing yourself to a pretty bad 1v1 + surveillance type of killer, you must constantly apply 1v4 pressure. And you don't just do it randomly, you actually have to put thought into placing cameras, utilizing all that info, infecting survivors quick enough, etc, etc, etc.

this killer's whole playstyle in sweaty matches isn't to outpace survivors like classic chase killers do, it is to drain survivors out of any resources and then slowly take them apart, all that while still doing unreasonable amount of actions every second because otherwise you don't generate enough pressure. Singularity at peak performance is an overcomplicated Hag or Skull Merchant because his chase power is not efficient enough in classic chase cycle gameplay. It's good at draining map resources, punishing survivors for grouping up, but not good for consistently and quickly downing people.

it gets progressively worse because you realize that more and more survivors learn his counterplay and while it takes absurd amount of effort from your side to at least somewhat mitigate EMPs, they don't get distracted that much. They learn not to waste EMP on a pod near gen unless you actually infect them, they learn to switch sides if they gen is being watched by 2 pods (because it's literally impossible to place 2 pods on same gen outside of 1 EMP range and have them observe all sides of the gen, unless that gen has 2 sides obstructed & is in the open), they learn when to predrop or when to loop, they learn what windows are still safe enough to be used against you and so on. So while you were already sweating to manage the basics of your power against people who just mindlessly used EMPs, you're now forced to sweat in square.

Im not even counting endless bugs with his power like cameras refusing to place, being obstructed by pixels or slipstream teleport being overruled by pod placement because 1 pixel slightly obstructed one of your aim's sides. It stops being annoying after you got initial hang of the killer, but then, after a month of playing with him, it becomes infinitely more annoying because you know you got screwed badly because this killer is inconsistent garbage

so yeah, I mastered this killer and as a person who masted him, I can say for sure this killer is not worth it. He takes unreasonable amount of effort for results slightly above mediocre.

Do you play this killer with a controller or with a mouse?

With a controller it's so... Ugh. More difficult than it needs be imo.

  • No doubt they're tinkering with gen spawns in their efforts to deal with 3-gen setups.

Unplayable on console, very high skill floor, power can be turned off by survivors leading to frustration, high decision fatigue, and takes a lot of energy to play at the highest level.

He's a very fun killer, don't get me wrong, but you can output the same performance while playing Wesker/Blight/Nurse on autopilot. With Hux, you have to: babysit EMP'd cameras, make sure camera placements are all good and spread out, make sure to always have 1-2 free cameras for chase, always have a general idea of where survivors are, know when to commit to a chase or when to get a quick tag and leave, be aware of EMP timers and EMP box locations to pressure them better, have enough mechanical skill to make quick teleport shots around odd angles as survivors cross through them briefly, and still have to worry about survivors stepping in on your chase and turning off your power. He's by no means an easy killer to pick up. A very well-designed and very fun killer, but tough to get into.

Unplayable on console with how awfully those biopod cameras control. I thought End Transmission was great at first look and bought it when it came out but I really regret that purchase now, which is why I'm hesitating to buy the Alien chapter when it drops.

I reserve the label "unplayable on console" just for Trickster, but this killer is really trying to get into that club.

Clunky to use in many respects with a controller. The input delay and stick deadzones make him feel so bad to play.

yeah, and the player should recieve a vac ban if they escape bring broken and exhausted.

    What's a vac ban?

Lobby dodging, people transitioning from console with 1000s of hours to PC or people making Smurf accounts could also be a determining factor as to why games feel off balance.

Getting the blasted Cross Progression done can solve your second point.

Simple. When I played killer the first time, I had fun.

Still lost miserably and using hag as my first killer was a terrible choice.

But I had fun. So I kept at it until I stopped being a potato.

I would do what pulsar said, pick a simple to understand killer and get the basics down. Then find a killer you like.

Demogorgon is also very simple if you have it. But don't think too hard with portals initially. Just put them down near important stuff.

    This is a sound approach.

I'd throw in Trapper here too. Very easy to understand his power, and his setup time will allow you get familiar with tiles, loops, high traffic areas, etc. Similar to Hag overall in the beginning, they both are decent at zoning and locking down parts of the map.

If you stick with it you'll develop a style of play & gain enough experience to then chose another stronger killer or two that fits you.

  • No way we can seriously consider banning for slugging without an internal match replay system to check against imo.

Since they've stated several times this cannot be added to the game now (would require recoding from scratch) I'm not really seeing the point of this discussion.

"Fast" Robbies should not be subject to MMR as they are now. In other words, the lobby will be created as soon as 5 people gather, so if the queue is split and the number of players is halved, it is expected that the matching time will actually be faster. Also, I think that there are few players who care about matching time because players who emphasize "quality" literally gather in "Quality" Robbies. Finally, by having "fast" lobbies and "quality" lobbies, both players who want "fast" and players who want "quality" can enjoy it (currently neither player can enjoy it), so the player population I think that will increase.

The last time they asked this community in a survey whether they favor queue times over quality matchmaking the overwhelming response was for the queue times.
