If you have to rely on Devour and Noed to get a 4k, you have bigger issues to deal with first.
-
Yeah.. it makes the game almost impossible to play because you never know when you're at a safe distance at this point.. This just goes to show that unless you're a mile away from the killer, you'll never be able to determine if you're within the killers hit range.

Doctor does not need a nerf. Killers need buffs to actually be viable.
Then when are Survivors going to get buffed to actually be viable?... When was the last time a Survivor got a buff? and don't say Sabotaging, because hooks respawn 100x faster and people dont even do it still.
Doctor doesn't need to be buffed? He's currently one of the most OP killers in the game next to a Toxic Iri Head Huntress.
Doctor has the best survivor tracking in the game.
Doctor has the best gen pressure in the game with Static Blast+Dead Man's Switch.
Doctor is in the top 5 for ending chases.
This isnt even mentioning the fact that he also has reverse skill checks, fake pallets, illusions, and tier 3 madness that you have to constantly break out of.

The thing is,the more u drag the game the more is becoming in favour of the killer.Also as long as sloppy butcher/thana and the likes exist,i think i'll continue to rely on adren/IW/DS/any exhaustion perk instead of taking my time to heal.
You know a counter to Sloppy/Thana?.. Inner Strength or Auto-Didact.

Your friend would be an exception, so you’re telling me my GF was so unlucky she faced 3 really good players who haven’t had time to rank up at all and all happened to play tonight and together?
And where are you getting 16 games, it’s 4-5 pips max. I go from rank 4 to rank 5 survivor and am back to red within an hour or two. You don’t go from 4 all the way to 8 for example.
Or here's a thought.. Rank reset happens every month.. Last month there was a bug which caused people to derank further than they should (Rank 4 down to Rank 12). People tend to take breaks and return for patches. During this time, even a Rank 1 could have depipped back to 20 if they werent active.

Agreed. Killers wanna try to win as well, and in case a Survivor is unhooked near you and you didn't even have time to go away, going back is the most logical choice even though it might not be fun for the other side.
Oh, im not even talking about that. If they didn't have time to run away, it makes sense. But these people were legitimately just standing there watching the hook. Every time you'd go in for a save, whether it was 10 seconds or 20 seconds later, the moment the survivor was unhooked they'd immediately have a spear shot on us.

Have you played some killer yet or do you only play survivor?
Everyone that’s played killer knows that sometimes leaving the hook is not the best option. It does not mean that they suck at the game it’s just because the generators pop too quickly and it’s worsened when you play a killer with low mobility like deathslinger.
I do play killer (Wraith and Legion main) and have used Gunslinger a little bit.. I know it doesn't need to be done in order to 4K with Deathslinger. I just had a string of 4 straight matches where every Deathslinger had to resort to proxy camping and running noed just to win.
-
@Mattie_MayhemOG said:
Not an issue, very rarely run into them.
Take comfort knowing the killer depipped by using that offering.
Very rarely run into them because they're the most toxic thing in this game and ruin the game for not just survivors but killers too. Me personally, I think they should just do away with Mori offerings completely. Instead, if a survivor is on their 3rd hook give the killer the option to Mori or hook the survivor. This way it does 2 things.. #1, helps the killer because they know the survivor is on death hook and #2, makes it so the killer doesnt have to waste time bringing them to a hook.
-
@finitethrills said:
He has no mobility, and a reduced movement speed, so that already makes him prone to occasionally needing or using somewhat less fun tactics. Also, a lot of slinger are going back and trying to peg the unhooked, but it's kinda hard to hit the actual target when the two Survivors are right next to each other.
At 110, it takes him longer to even get away from the hook, and lowers his chances of finding someone else before you're unhooked. If a killer doesn't have someone in his sights when an unhook happens, there's zero reason for him not to go back to where he knows at least 2 Survivors are.
I guess. I just don't see how that's fun for anyone.. Killer or Survivor. Might as well just play a face camping bubba at that point since it's funnier to watch.
-
@FichteHiro said:
It depends on a lot of factors, such as the Killer's playstyle, your rank, etc. . First of all, "camping" is a tad bit subjective. What do you mean by "camping", facecamping or the Killer being around the Hook?
And no, most Killers don't camp, and his ability isn't bad enough that he must camp in order to win. However, some things like the fast Gen speed do influence the Killer to camp, which I do not encourage in case you're talking about facecamping, since it isn't a fun experience to be facecamped.
Not face camping.. Proxy camping. 4 Matches in a row, they've literally just sat within hook radius hiding and waiting for someone to come up just to spear them before they have a chance to unhook. Even had one use noed and hide near the basement of Gideon's waiting for people to run down and make a save.

I'm gonna say can we fix the stairs? All of the stairs have a bunch of invisible ledges and stuff on them. I was going into the basement and my character "jumped" 3 times just running down. Most annoying when I'm trying to make a save and I have to take the stagger delay every time I "fall" from nothing. As killer I get stuck on nothing all the time. It's just annoying and frustrating.
Now I will also say thank you for the vent because honestly what actually gets fixed these days.
Not only that but the fall sound your character makes gives you away too

I know that ruin was nerfed a little while ago but this just recently popped into my head after I got put against 4 rank 5s as a rank 13 (2 of which had over 1k hours) as huntress (I had good addons) on rotton fields. I just don't understand how the devs expected killers to win without a perk that "slows the game down just a little bit" and with an AWEFUL matchmaking system. I know this just sounds like a killer main crying but I do play both sides and I'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

In the terms of gaming and esports, this is NOT a competetive game. It's a pvp game. There is no rank, no reward, no nothing other than playing against "better" players.
...Literally Super Mario Brothers is competitive due to Speed Runs. So yes, Dead by Daylight is competitive; especially when people are hosting Killer vs Survivor tournaments for cash prizes.

To seperate people based roughly on skill and time played.
It's not a ranked system. It's a matchmaking tool. If it didnt exist, the "best of the best" would sit there stagnantly and new players would likely never get there. If you're good, grinding back up isnt hard anyway.
Has nothing to do with being good.. Just from personal experience it's more of a pain in the ass pipping off lower rank killers because they either tunnel vision on 1 person or are more likely to camp a hook
-
Any game that has a winner and a loser is a competitive game.

Honestly, this is even worse than the ruin nerf
Release a killer that's top 5 worst in the game, ignoring all community feedback even after having an additional week of ptb? Yup.
Make sabo more powerful? Yup.
Buffing toolbox repair speed? Yup.
Release another survivor-sided map, already adding to the 85%+ pool of maps that is survivor sided? Yup.
Fix the game-breaking sound issues that have persisted for months? Not a chance. I can literally stand directly over a character and they're silent, but that's fine.
Balance gen/game speeds? Nope.
Fix various killer bugs, like on Nurse? Nope, but we'll give insignificant buffs to B/C tier killers.
Honestly, it's such a disaster.
Saboing more powerful?.. It got nerfed into the ground by Hooks respawning faster now.. Killers will just leave you slugged.
Toolboxes got buffed?.. They're literally useless now and 1 Commodious toolbox can't even finish half a gen. Any killer running Pop would instantly negate all progress made from using a toolbox.
Release another survivor sided map? You do realize most of the map is complete dead space that survivors are sitting ducks in?

Now you've changed your point, by saying "break it".
I guess you're feeling cornered? =) The main topic was survivor "pre-insta dropping" all pallets" and by the time they go through all pallest (depending on game rng, because that's a thing) many chases go by, and you have to solve it in endgame, which is the topic, btw.
Cornered by giving you easy solutions that you're just going to ignore because you cant figure out how to play killer? It's not rocket science and survivors pre-dropping pallets doesnt do anything but hurt their team.

You proved my point.
Obviously you don't know most of the killers you've mentioned, smart survivors can pre-drop pallets agaisn'ta Doctor, same with clown, he can still deny it yeah, but now we're talking about the top 2 weakest killer, demo, same as doc, they will pre-drop it if the demo can actually hit lunges, nurse , sure , she is the only who can actually ignore pallets, but its bold to assume that everyone can even use a nurse, trapper, yeah, he can trap some pallets, but survivors can DH through them and drop anyway, freddy, he is a real powerhouse yeah, he can fake pallets and slow peoples down, probably the only real one with actual power over the whole game.
Now I assume you're gonna say The Pig can sprint through pallets, Deathslinger can leave them hurt, spirit can backdoor blabla.. but now you're just forcing it, and im not even gonna mention your wraith quote.
Considering I main Wraith, I literally have no issues with it.. Lets say they do drop a pallet.. I can break it and catch back up within seconds or just ignore it all together.. Stop making excuses just because you're bad at killer.

@Talmeer said:
I think it is something from what survivors and killers can benefit on the same scale, with 1 exception: The devs could use them to take down the god loops.
Perosnally I don't think that they will be a great advantage besides the named god loops because I can bet, that it will take a few seconds to break a wall and the killer will lose sight to his victim, because he will look at the wall while he breaking him.
So TL:DR It is a nice gimmick that only has advantages if a survivor runs to a god loop.
It takes the same amount of time as it takes to break a pallet.. So if they just break them as they walk by, its no big deal for killers.
-
@honestlybaffled said:
You are all a disappointment and you're ignoring the guy post and being straight up entitled "just git gud" .
If any of you actually play this game and as KILLER, you know that matches like this do happen, and if RNG is not in your favour, you'll get a really good setup for SURVIVORS, which if they all just drop pallets INSTANTLY, the only decisive moment will be at end game, which they can easily counter with BT.
@Reinami said:
Killers can do nothing. Just had a game where survivors didn't try to mindgame anything, just threw down the pallet without thinking and gens just fly. You don't even have to mindgame anymore. I tried dropping chase after i realized this was happening and going for others, but they all did the same thing and i could not pressure anything. As soon as i dropped chase the one i would run towards would immediately start running away (they were a SWF on coms)
Sorry but there are many ways around this.. Wraith is fast enough to run around it, Nurse can blink past it, Doctor can prevent the pallet drop, Clown can slow, Trapper can Trap, Demodoggo can lunge through it, Freddy can mind game and warp to a gen in front of the survivor.. plus there are perks that can help with this?

He's the type of killer with a high skill ceiling. We don't want to make any knee jerk reactions based on feedback from a few matches on the test environment where ranked matchmaking is not enabled. We'd like to see what someone can do with them with practice first, then make any changes that might be needed. Most people only play a handful of matches on the PTB, and those that did play quite a bit tended to do pretty well with them as is.
Short version, he's doing okay for now, we're going to watch and see what needs to change - if anything - once people have had more time to learn to play as and against him.
You speak as if Ranked Matchmaking actually worked to begin with? I rarely ever get a red rank killer at red ranks. If anyone is in a SWF group, it completely negates ranking. Perfect example, last night I was playing with friends who were ranks 15-20 and I'm a Rank 2. Matchmaking goes off of their Ranking, not mine and we were paired with Rank 15-20 killers the entire night.

What do you think? Was this necessary?
Because we're hiding behind a generator or a rock and realistically shouldn't have been hit to begin with? You killers really cry about everything.

Are they though? With the amount of issues broken with the game.. Is now really the time to be implementing more new content that we know will break the game even more? Saboing is now completely ridiculous, toolboxes are now useless for anything other than saboing, Wall breaking is going to be game breaking, the new map is too dark for most players and the new killer is just a reskin of the huntress but weaker.

It is so incredibly easy to pip as survivor so who cares? Even if you get a dozen of these games in a row you can get back to rank 1 in no time.
Not the point.. We're talking about BHVR's failed matchmaking system where everyone is punished because one side was bad. Put it into this perspective.. If your favorite Football team won a game 28-0, but they failed to get an Interception during the game and both teams to lost. Or in Hockey if your team won 4-0 but they failed to get a single hit in the game caused both teams to lose.. Or Baseball... your team wins 5-0 because your pitcher got a ton of strikeouts (gens) to close out innings, but both teams lose because you didn't catch enough pop-flies (chases)?

What if its the killers goal to never have any gens done? should we not adjust the game so survivors cant do gens because that would be "unfair" to the killer(s made up goal) ?
What in gods name are you talking about? Did you literally just skip over everything and just put a random comment? "Killer only focuses on 1 player because they arent smart enough to break chase and ends up getting gen rushed", why should the survivors be punished because the killer makes poor choices? We did our objectives, we escaped.. why should we be forced to interact with the killer if it wasnt necessary in the match due to a killers choice?
-
@DBD_Pinhead said:
Sounds like you want a bot to farm off of. When you gen rush with zero killer interaction, then obviously expect not to get points in categories.

How am I entitled? Because a killer couldnt get a single hook during the 10 minutes we took to finish 5 gens and open a gate? I'm entitled because the killer spent the entire match tunnel visioned on 1 player? I'm entitled because when they finally downed someone, we couldnt get any altruism due to a killer deciding to face camp on a 1 shot down killer?
When you clear all the totems, and the killer is tunnel visioned on 1 person.. what else is there to do but complete gens?

No. Do what you want. This is your own game. No self made honor rules, no nothing :3
Mori'ing after first hook is the reason why survivors are quitting DBD... It's toxic game play and doesn't benefit anyone, including the killer. There have been countless times where someone's been found immediately off the start of a game, downed within 30 seconds and hooked. Then only to have a random solo survivor farm them off the hook with the killer on their ass, to get insta downed again and mori'd 1-2 minutes into the game.

Wait, let me get this straight. The map you deem favorable to survivors should be removed because you don't like it? Most maps are very much killer sided, and as a killer, I appreciate it, but in no way do I dread the one map survivors have an advantage in. I think it is pretty pretentious to want it deleted.
Heck, I usually feel bad for survivors on any swamp map. Those are horrible for survivors. I can usually stand on the boat or boathouse and see everything. I stalked with Shape like nuts up there. Should survivors ask for it to be removed? No
Dont you know? Survivors are overpowered and get everything handed to them. Killers arent OP in any way, shape or form and BHVR is out to get them.

And i'm talking about Survivors as a whole.. not just me. Almost every single game I see the same issue, 1 survivor gets tunneled immediately and ends up with 5k or less points, never getting to touch a gen.

What about survivors like Tru3Talent that sometimes drop pallets prior to killers coming to set up loops?

Well moris is a completely different story in terms of being unbalanced. My problems with DS and being an invincibility perk is from the perspective of a killer who isn’t using a mori. Isn’t that a little messed up to think about tho? A killer with something as cheap as a mori can’t be punished by DS but a killer who didn’t bring a mori has to be punished for it?
At the same time, DS is an anti-tunneling perk that only works once per match.. If you find the need to sit so close to the hook and protect your kill, that it takes you less than 60 seconds to down a survivor, then thats on you.

We aren't looking to punish leaving a lobby at this time. There are reasons why someone might have to leave a lobby (e.g. They forgot to select an archives challenge, they realized they aren't ready or have max BP, they see someone in the lobby that has caused issues in the past, etc.).
If someone does dodge a lobby, that lobby remains open on dedicated servers and is pushed to the front of the queue, so it should fill back up very quickly.
Why are Killers able to see the survivors and their addons in Lobbies, but Survivors cant see what killer they're facing?
-
@mmain said:
If I understand correctly the new DC penalties are to punish people that disconnect in a match simply because they don't like the way the match is going. The rationale is that disconnecting is unfair to the rest of the people in the match. I 100% agree this needed to be done.
I posted a thread yesterday about queue times on PS4 and had people started commenting on it how when they play killer and they get stuck in a lobby they don't like because of the amount of survivors with toolboxes or whatever reason they just dodge it. Toolboxes are part of the game. The rationale behind dodging in this situation is no different than the rationale of disconnecting in a match. They don't like something so they dodge. Dodging is still disconnecting. It's just done in the lobby instead of the match. It's just as unfair to the people you dodged as disconnecting in match. Sometimes it's more unfair because you may end up waiting 30 minutes or more for your lobby to fill again.
Why does lobby dodging get a free pass when it's done for exactly the same reason as disconnecting?
There's a simple solution.. Remove the killers ability to see the survivors and what items they bring during lobbies.. Survivors cant see who the killers are or what addons they're bringing.. so why should killers get to see what we have?
-
@Happy2Heal4You said:
I think the perk goes far beyond it’s purpose of being an anti tunnel perk. For 60 seconds a survivor is invincible and can do whatever they want with no consequences to getting caught making a bad play. “ Just don’t tunnel the survivor” is what they say but then you have survivors purposely go to you so that they can be a distraction for their teammates.this is me not tunneling, it’s the survivor forcing me to tunnel them. I would be okay with the perk if I could just slug them, but now there I see the new meta of running unbreakable with DS. With these 2 perks combined the survivor literally becomes invincible. They can’t be picked up or else you get stunned and they can’t be slugged because they can pick themselves up. It’s a disgusting combo.
If I could make changes to DS I would make it so that the perk de-activates when they either get healed or touch a gen since both situations would not be able to happen if the survivor was tunneled and for it to not work combined with unbreakable. Since the devs are making it so gen slow down perks can’t be stacked together, it’s only fair that second chance perks like that can’t be stacked together.
Invincible? They arent invincible to being Mori'd..

Bugs aside which they should have a system to detect and not punish for I don't see why anyone should be allowed to dc.
To be honest the only ones I feel that have an issue with this is the ones who would dc if things aren't going how they wish them too.
Dcing has been one of the biggest complaints about this game for the past two years. Now they put in a system the players have actively asked for. I would say they have engaged with the community in this case and have listened to them.
You want a reason to DC? How about when you get a bad spawn because DBD is so buggy that 90% of the time, 1 survivor spawns within the killers terror radius.. Or when you get a killer that decides to camp the hook with a Mori? or how about the fact that Iri Huntress is a thing? Or a bubba that sits afk in the basement until endgame and kills everyone so everyone depips?

I've never seen anyone complain about Ruin being too powerful. The only issues were always the matches where a totem would be impossible to find. I mean it's become so bad I literally had a match last night where a Wraith sat invisible next to a hook just to instant down the survivor and Mori them or anyone that tried to get them.
Killers seem to forget that Survivors were nerfed into the ground as well.. Self Care? D-Strike? Insta Heals? Balanced Landing? And now BVHR is talking about nerfing Tool Boxes?
Killers already have a massive advantage over Survivors and toxic behavior using tunneling and mori's are what's causing the DBD community to move onto other games.
