I know people like to say that solo survivor sucks, but I just don't see it. Yes, it can suck when your teammate's brains are on airplane mode, or when a killer decides he wants somebody dead for whatever reason, but in my experience I tend to have way more games that go well then games that don't.

The past two days I've been using no perks on Felix to get the power moves trophy, for example. Only two of those games were bad. A face camping twins player, and two people deciding to DC the moment they saw a nurse. Maybe I'm just lucky, but the complaints still seem overblown to me.

Main reason I dislike solo is the lack of communication. Prime example; first game of the night I end up dying on first hook because no one goes for the save. 1 persons being chased, 1 is injured/hiding and 1 is being a gen jockey.

  • Lol what? I dont think ive ever lost a match to a Wraith. Literally vault a window or bring a flashlight and you win.

Is it just me, or does nearly all of them run Franklin's for so reason? I swear 9 out of 10 Doctors run it.

Franklins? On a Doc? Why.. There's so many better options for Doc

  • As a former Freddy main, I had to put him down. He's no longer a viable killer and I can count on 1 hand the amount of Freddy's i've gone up against since his nerf.

  • "I had a SWF who left their teammate on hook 4 games in a row" - How do you know it was a swf?

  • Just because it doesnt suit your playing style, doesnt mean its a bad map. Personally I love it as a Survivor, the unique style and gameplay options provide an sense of horror when being chased.

  • Nah 2 is already enough. You know how many times ive already been cucked by a Zombie that you cant hear because chase music is too loud? Only to have it body block a path on you, get a free hit and then Nemesis downs you a second after.

People will always DC. There will always be people who assume they are better than they are, ragequit a match, and blame their teammates/the other team.

Do you think DBD invented DCing? I've seen it as far back as Quake.

The 'core root' is people being people, not the game.

No, but they can certainly fix the issues at hand. Maps being broken? The tunneling issue? Spirit as a whole? The entire console experience? But mainly switch being practically unplayable? The hit detection system? The rank issues? Solo Q vs SWF?

Why not? There needs to be a penalty for ruining the game for the other players...

Or maybe.. just hear me out.. If BHVR actually fixed their poor excuse of a game, players wouldn't want to DC? There's obviously a reason people are dcing and BHVR is doing nothing to solve the core root of the issue. They're throwing a bandaid on it and blaming the players.

Dude you should be playing pig. She's much stronger. Honestly she's better than nurse.

Better than nurse? You a funny guy. She's a standard M1 killer that gets looped for days at any pallet.

  • Most boring is Plague & Blight. Most fun to go against is probably a Myers since you never know what you're going to get.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

Do you actually care about escaping? Outside of a daily, a challenge, or an adept does it actually matter to you? Personally I couldn't care less. All I want is a fun game with good points. After that escaping is irrelevant to me. Am I alone in this?

Only reason I care about escaping is because finding decent addons for your items is a struggle when there's over 200 options in the bloodweb.

I get the whole "You dont need items" thing, but being able to bring a flashlight or something gives another form of gameplay to make matches less boring.

  • Lately it's been Deliverance+BT combo in Solo Queue. Too many occurrences where you cant trust teammates to go for the save before you hit stage 2.

  • @Mandy said:

Yes it's back in rotation whilst we monitor stability on it, the offerings will remain disabled for now though.

Why doesnt it have an increase spawn rate like we normally get with new map releases?

  • @ITSCJ46 said:

Can we pls just move on without NOED, there is no legitimate defence you can say to keep this perk, it literally rewards bad killers with free kills, it rewards them for not doing their objective in the first place, I've just had 2 games in a row (and probably hundreds in the past) where we get all the gens done and we're all good and the killer gets 1-3 kills cause of NOED.

BHVR literally gave you a perk to speed run totems... Use it? Noed isn't an issue anymore

  • You guys also seem to forget that survivors have a lot more in their blood webs compared to killers. Between perks, items, addons & offerings they have over 200 items.

Killers have roughly 100-110 with perks, addons, offerings.

  • I'm experiencing this same issue. Steam player trying to add an Xbox player to DBD friends list.

  • Getting carried by the Resident Evil name.. Just wait until the new players realize how ######### the game actually is. Give it another month and then review it. It'll be back under 50k because BHVR refuses to actually fix the damage they cause.

Seriously, how do you announce a Resident Evil chapter and a brand new map (after we've been waiting for over a year), draw that much hype and a glimmer of hope for your community, only to have the map break during the PTB so we couldnt play it.. and then release the chapter with the map still broken?

They're one of the only companies that is able to survive on broken content and disappointment. It's absolutely mind boggling how they stay in business.

  • @legacycolt said:

Well, I’m just gonna use sprint burst then. Good luck catching me :)

Dont worry. Once they complain enough and get DH nerfed, they'll be coming after Object of Obsession again, then Sprint Burst/Lithe and eventually DS again.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Sure, if they give killers the ability to see survivors ping once more. The last thing a killer needs is to be screwed over by a teleporting survivor.

Id be okay with that.. But lets be real, how often does this actually happen? Once in 500 matches maybe? But how often do you get hit by a killer who was 15 feet away on your screen?

  • Yes I have.. in the last 3-4 days, literally 90% of my matches have resulted in the killer face camping/proxy camping.

That's a bug that doesn't happen very often. It shouldn't be losing you games. It never has for me.

A bug that doesnt happen very often? I literally get it every game, multiple times a game when I play Nurse. I use double recharge addons.

  • A lot of hag mains simply just change their teleport keybind to their scroll wheel so they can instantly react. Has nothing to do with a macro.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/251588/nurse-is-an-pile-of-inconsistent-bull-sht

As a nurse main, she's not inconsistent. You just have to be good with her to know this.

Also, nurse has the longest lunge in the game.

    As for tips:

    Don't predict where survivors are.

Learn her muscle memory completely. You'll realize that there are very few inconsistencies with it. Those inconsistencies are called blink deadzones, and you can't blink at all in them.

Only use one blink to traverse the map.

Don't give up. Nurse is on a whole different tier than every other killer. This is only offset by the time it takes to learn her. If you have any intention of giving up, don't even bother with her.

Practice, practice, practice, leads to mastery.

She's not inconsistent? oh then please! Tell me how you fix her blink issue.

The one where her blink decides it doesnt want to work anymore and you get an endless audio loop of her attempting to blink rapidly.

  • I love how people are complaining about Dead Hard but yet Smash Hit (a perk that literally ends any chase) no ones complained about yet.

Don't get stuck in the basement maybe? Don't loop around the shack?

"Dont loop around shack".. yeah because you know the iron grasp+ agitation combo that almost every trapper and myers runs doesn't exist.

It's definitely a fact a lot of us are excited for it, it is fun speculating who the killer(s) and survivor(s) might be, overall it brings us together as a community. However there is something I hate to say and that is people care so much about the characters that they go to absurd, odd, and sometimes aggressive lengths to ensure that the characters they want are coming into this chapter. It gotten to a point where I've realized some people were sorted as Old fans, and New fans, it felt like two sides. Some people wanted the newer stuff while fans of the old games came to disagree, and you could reverse this statement it still has the same result.

As for ensuring the characters they want to come in, this is what I mean, and I'm not naming. I recently saw a post on another social media site stating Lady D shouldn't be the killer because she was new, and was sexist or something along those line. Which is funny because we got Freddy and we don't talk about his issues, and well, you get the idea. Or another saying they didn't want Nemesis because well hes too over the top and too powerful biologically, etc. Now aggressive well this is gonna be my experience.

So if you don't know already I really want Jack Baker, and he's not a bad choice. But from what I've received over the course of the wait for the livestream, was what was once civil discussions to backlash saying hes not 'iconic', to a lot of other different things. It was mostly on my other social media, and I was harassed over the fact I wanted the old man that personally scared me a lot more than the other villains of RE. SO the point of this is that the RE chapter speculation not only single handedly brought a lot of us together in excitement, but also in a way divided us. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way but I just had to say it

I don't understand why people think it'll be Lady D... This patch has been in development since before January. See below: Which means they werent going to add a killer that they had no idea was going to have any hype. Matt specifically said "Iconic", meaning early gen Resident Evil.

  • This also puts the case for Resident Evil 8 Lady D being the killer to bed.

People hating on the hag map 😥 myself i just can't wait for the update the maps are going to look amazing. Both as survivor and killer i don't mind those map anyways.

Personally I like the map, its just constantly breaking for some reason.

  • @Jarol said:

I don't think the developers are so foolish to take away the old hud just for a RE comparison and a possible hypothetical chapter of it.

Hi Jarol, you were saying? :)

  • @Lamb_Teeth said:

Does anyone else think the re chapter killer could be alexia? I think thats the main antagonist of veronica right? And thats where the quote Mathew cote used is from and she wouldn’t have the size constraints nemesis, mr x or Alcina Dimitrescu would have

What? Matt said "Look, you've got two choices here: kill or be killed, your call!" which was a quote Claire Redfield said in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

Don't mind me, just waiting for a mod/dev to reply :)

Same but they won't reply most likely.

if you're envious, play with stretched resolution and reshade, stop complaining for nothing.

Envious? Not in the slightest.. blatantly using 3rd party programs to increase your reds to the point that they become a homing beacon is ridiculous and shouldn't be legal.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

this isnt a discussion about killer perks, go make your own topic

"Dont talk about me and my problems! Only talk about you! Only you have problems"

  • So what you're saying is.. Dead Hard for distance is actually the worst distance exhaustion perk? :}

  • @shalo said:

At first glance I thought it was 1992 Wolfenstein!

8 Bit Dead By Daylight? lol

  • Loool they moved it to Feedback and Suggestions so the topic can get buried and never seen again.

I just realized that people are giving this buffoon money too. What a ######### world.

Yep. It's sad that people can actually sit and watch this garbage. It physically hurt my eyes after just 2 minutes trying to watch it.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

    Stretched res or filters?

Both.. The guy said he was using a program called ReShade and had a res of 1080 x 1600

  • We call it Bugged By Daylight for a reason. Prime example, just look at the Twins DLC release.. the ENTIRE update was broken from the killer, to flashlights, to maps.

It's gotten to the point that DBD not being bugged is a miracle.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

    BHVR hates killers apparently.

    But really love SWF

If BHVR hates killers, then why did they take so long to fix the hill glitch? killer pallet stuns? the hatch issues on Backwood Swamp? ect?

What's the problem with it being a one-time use perk? Many perks, killer and survivor, are single use only. That doesn't make them bad.

Deliverance is single-use and allows you to escape from the hook for free. Decisive Strike has been one of the most powerful perks of the game for years and it's a single use. Adrenaline only activates at the end of a match and gives the survivor a powerful end game.

Killer also has a fair share of powerful one-time use perks. Blood Warden is tricky to use, but if you can lock down the exit gates with it, it can turn an easy survivor win in a massacre. Hex: Haunted Ground gives all survivors a one-time 60 second exposed effect and shouldn't be overlooked. Corrupt Intervention only stays on for the first 2 minutes, yet it's a must run perk for many.

If a perk either allows you to down anyone or escape from a killer, it being one-use is irrelevant in my eyes. A strong effect can very easily compensate.

Except it isn't a strong effect and Iron Will helps out x10 more than a 1 time use no scratch marks chase that could end in 5 seconds but take you forever to get healed again.

  • Didn't they announce that they were in the middle of doing a Haddonfield rework?

  • @psionic said:

45 seconds is more than enough for ONE survivor have the value of ther perk.

You guys act like the game is an 1vs1.

45 seconds literally makes it a one time use perk though. By the time you escape the killer and get healed the timer is gone.

  • The INFO Build

Solo Build is Open Handed - Bond - Windows of Op - Small Game/Iron Will

    Lets you see where:

    All your teammates are

All of the remaining pallets/windows are

    How many totems are left

The rough whereabouts of the killer

  • The best way to see how bad the servers truly are. Get chased by a killer with Franklin's, have them down you and then see how far back your item drops compared to your body.

  • @TGB said:

The Survivor community in this game... really is something else. There isn't a subcommunity at all like them, across the entire planet.

Camp this, tunnel that. Yada yada yada. They don't even know what these things mean anymore. They just spout it out of their bloody mouths if they get sacced, end of story. They died? Camp/tunnel.

Even if Killer DOES camp/tunnel, the Survs completely fail to counter the strategy. They're so used to having the devs coddle them and change the game accordingly, or they're so used to having their community shun players for doing certain things. They've totally and utterly forgotten how to even... ... play the game.

(By the way, there's a big difference between camping and patrolling.)

If 1 person is right in front of me and 3 people are far away... I'm going to go for the close guy. This isn't tunneling...

If 1 person is injured and another is healthy, I'm going to go for the injured guy. This isn't tunneling...

If 1 person's next hook is an insta-death, I'm going to go for them...

If 1 generator is at high completion and the others are empty... you guessed it... I'm going to camp that gen until you show me your willingness to work on other ones.

    The list goes on...

The Survivor community tries to make you feel bad for doing what you're supposed to do.

Just play the game, Killers. Please. If you KNOW you're supposed to do something... If you KNOW the proper strategical choice... Just do it! Don't let these Survivors socially bully you into... basically letting them win. Just play the game like you would any other game. You know what your objective is, and you know how to achieve it. Get it done, and have fun. If Survivors wanna claim that you're an "unfun Killer" because they lost, then they probably shouldn't be playing multiplayer games at all, because they just can't handle losing.

Don't let that enable them to bully you out of properly playing the game and enjoying yourself.

    That is all...

    Enjoy!

What about Killer Stigma? Today i've been face camped 3 times, tunneled repeatedly and last match had a killer so hell bent on ending me, they chased me for 4 gens, hooked me and face camped me, disrespected the Kobe after refusing to let anyone get me, ate a DS and then continued to try and tunnel me out of the game before losing the final gen.

  • I've had a lot of success with STBFL, Enduring, Spirit Fury and either Pop or Brutal Strength.
