Then please explain, why it was fine like 2 years ago or so? I played the game since august 16, and there was a time, where it was perfectly fine, because the killer really has to touch you in order to really hit you. Those airwaves hits look stupid AND are completely broken. And since it varies between months/weeks/days/hours/rounds, we can´t prepare ourselves to time the loops right. It´s just guessing, how long the hit range will be for EVERY. SINGLE. ROUND. Will it be 5 meters, 4 meters? 8 meters ? you´ll never know until you got hit.
It all started after the Deathslinger Chains of Hate DLC got released.
-
What? These sounds aren't in DBD at all.
-
Rather have RE:2 Leon & Claire for the survivors and Dr Birkin as the killer.
-
Only time is if I see a full toolbox group. Not looking to lose a gen before I can even get to the other side of the map.

Not sure if they have Customer Service jobs there but...

Did you seriously just use the argument I put in the post?
What other First Person games have FOV sliders? Shadowborn and M&A give a clear advantage for killers and also effect core gameplay for survivors as well. Not sure if you realize it, but Killers that run Shadowborn and M&A also have different Flashlight Blind zones.
-
Killers are supposed to have fixed FOV's. Thats why perks like Shadowborn and M&A exist

Could just bring a map or detectives hunch?

I consider myself to be somewhat newer at DBD (103 hrs as of posting this) And I don't know everything about this game but I just feel like there's something VERY wrong with Midwich and I can't even precisely say what. I play survivor mostly and everytime I spawn into this map, I groan... It isn't fun to play on at all imo. The layout is very confusing to me but I suppose that's just something to be learned overtime. Looping seems FAR more difficult on it though, and I really don't like the huge hallways. I die on Midwich 9 times out of 10 when I typically survive most games I play on other maps. Just wanted to share this because it's probably my least favorite map next to Hawkins.
Here ya go.

Players tend to play females more, Dwight bring exception. I remember someone telling a story about asking for Adam cosmetics and being told he isn't played enough - logic being why make cosmetics that won't be bought/used? They argued back that those players with less cosmetics are played less BECAUSE they don't have as many options.
I'd love for them to chill out on cosmetics for the characters that already have 70+ cosmetics until the other characters catch up. Think would see difference in who is played more often if they all had around the same amount of options.
Exactly this.. there are a ton of other survivors I want to play but their lack of good cosmetics deter me from them.. so I just stick with Dwight, David and Ace.
-
Most play females because the males are lacking in good cosmetics so it's like a double edged sword?

So if iridescent head +infantry belt was 'abusing' the addons then how is dead hard for distance not abusing the perk? Thats not what its meant for and killers dont have perks where they get hits where they shouldnt so why can survivors make it so they dont get hit when they deserve to?
"Deadhard for distance is not what it's for" - What is dead hard for then? It's used to avoid an instance where you would otherwise take damage. That's exactly what survivors use it for.
-
Honestly wish they would have picked 1 male, 1 female and 1 killer. When are the male survivors not named Dwight going to finally get some love?
Jake has like 2 good outfits
David has 1 - Shirtless David
Ace - Aside from suits and borderline jiggalo outfits, he's got nothing.
Adam - Was left in the dust for the longest time and only recently got some nice outfits.
Jeff - 10 reskins, 2 unique outfits.
Felix - Kid Rock and Pornstache Aviator

If you tell me that it changes the shape of the bodies of the characters like the legendary skin of the Oni, I would understand it, but these skins don't make any big/abrupt changes, the only thing that is good are the head and at most the weapon. The Doctor's body is simply his usual body in a suit and the Huntress's body is his usual clothes, but black.
Legendary skin sets are supposed to exist for two reasons if I remember correctly:
- The character changes a lot or a certain part of the body changes a lot and it wouldn't combine well with the other skins (it isn't the case of these skins because they are simple skins without large changes in the body like the legendary skin of the Oni).
- They were planning to add new animations, I think different sounds and things like that to the legendary skins (but they haven't added anything to these skins).
So why are these skins legendary?
TL;DR: These new skins don't change the body or make sudden changes like the legendary skin of the Oni, so these new skins could perfectly be normal skins, neither legendary nor sets.
Why are they legendary? Because they're licensed characters from Crypt.TV and they get a cut of the revenue.
Doctor - The Look-See
Hag - The Birch
Huntress - Mordeo

Just bc im interested: How long do you need to wait for a match normally and how long was it last night? And what is your escape quota normally and what was it last night?
Queue times were like 5-10 minutes; not too bad. Was chatting with friends so I wasn't really paying attention. Escaping is usually 1 of 3 matches for me, but last night we 4 man escaped every match but 1 which was a 2/4 escape. With most matches only had 2-6 hooks.

Matchmaking was never fixed in the first place for it to be broken again.
Yes, i also still occasionally get matched with players who are not close to my rank at all on both sides.
Problem is its been like this all night. Haven't had a single purple or red rank and we're just stomping killers left and right.

I don't think Nemesis is going to be the killer maybe because he uses a rocket launcher. Yes, it can be Mr. X but who really cares about Mr. X, people only started caring about him a few years ago.
I think it going to be Lady Dimitrescu because she is going to be in the new game and fits more into DBD than Mr. X or Nemesis. But I guess we will have to see
Except Behavior is partnered with Netflix.. Netflix's series is based around Leon.. The trailer had Leon in it? So why would it be Lady Dimitrw/e. It would make zero sense. Personally I think it'll be Dr Birkin, Leon & Claire.

"Ever since I came back" + "at red ranks" Something doesn't add up. If you took a break you would have move to
purplegreen rank which then give you plenty of easy match if you didn't lose your skill.Getting plenty of 4k just mean that you get plenty of potato in your games. Go in a match with survivor of similar skill and you should get a kill by 3-4 gen, maybe a second by the last gen if you're lucky but no where near having the other two on their last hooks.
What doesnt add up? I took a month off, came back, got back to red rank and did a challenge without using any gen regression perks. I have over 3500 hours in the game. Getting 10 straight 4k without them doesnt mean I have plenty of "potatos", It's called knowing when to leave chases, knowing how to pressure multiple survivors at once, knowing how to force 3 gens, knowing how to loop tiles in order to force survivors into directions you want them to go.
People act like it's impossible to win as a killer and that's simply just not true.

Undeniable proof that playing fair or "by the Survivors rule book" will never get you a win(3K+ or Ruthless Killer) as a Killer.
Sure we can say these are the Top 1% of Killer vs the Top 1% of Survivor and these does not represent the average games we always have but can you still say that after BHVR implement their MMR system? It will come to a point eventually that every one of you will encounter Sweat after Sweat opponents Killer or Survivor.
The fact of the matter is that the only way to win majority of games is playing dirty, by that I mean Slugging, Camping and Tunneling. To counter this Survivor will eventually adapt their builds accordingly and we'll see the usual sweat build (DS,UB,DH,BT)
It's a bitter pill to swallow that in the future the DBD trials we all know now would be less fun for Survivor and Killer. I am pretty sure that no one wants to get Sweat Nurses, Sweat Spirits and Sweat Squads every time in the future.
Or you just need to get good?.. Ever since I came back to DBD, i've gone 10 straight games with a 4K with minimal gen regression perks, without tunneling, camping or slugging and rotating between Doc, Legion and Wraith at red ranks
Doc - Spirit Fury/Enduring/STBFL/Brutal Strength - Double Discipline addons
Wraith - Sloppy/Thana/Discordance/BBQ - Swift Hunt & Windstorm Addons
Legion - Nurses/Thana/Discordance/Deathbound - Dirt/Stolen Sketch Book
It's absolutely mind boggling that people think its impossible to win without using dirty tactics.

Thanks for finally fixing him devs! (: couldn’t ask for anything more. Hopefully this means a decline in Freddy matches overall.
Freddy is still strong :) The snare "nerf" wont do anything and we don't need forever freddy to be OP
-
As a Freddy main I can assure you this update does jack ######### to Freddy. Snares are placed fast enough that the "slowdown" wont do anything, Wait to see what the new addons do before saying anything because honestly.. Playing Forever Freddy all the time got boring quick.

so you don't actually hate the new small game.
you hate that the totem count isn't basekit.
I can agree with that.
The perk itself is completely useless now though?
- The detection range decreases by 5° for each totem cleansed
The current range is 12 meters, if they increase it then it becomes way too big of a cone and sends you on a wild goose chase unless you know roughly where they spawn. If they keep it at 12 meters, than after 2 totems are cleansed it's just a glorified totem counter.
-
There's a difference.. They went from him having 1 decent set of addons, to absolutely destroyed all of his addons. The movement speed nerf while placing snares wont do anything imo and the blood pool reduction wont matter if you use it for anti looping during chase.

Except every time I want to just open the gates, then I can't.
Seriously they should let you be able to do it any and all times after the last gen is done or if hatch is closed.
You can't open an exit gate if you've closed the hatch.

Exhaustion is there to balance very powerful on-use perks. Head On is the weakest exhaustion perk not only in terms of its effect but also its consistency, and by a large margin. There are many non-exhaustion perks that are far more powerful. It’s time for change.
Because just imagine.. Combine Head on/Dance With Me/Sprint Burst. You would escape every chance without leaving scratchmarks

Just remove the hatch and start the EGC once there is only 1 survivor left.
Problem solved.
No boring slugging for 4k.
No boring camping the hatch and hoping that the other survivor gets found first, when only 2 survivors are left.
They can't. There's an achievement for finishing the 5th gen while being the last survivor alive.

DS is being nerfed and y'all are already going after more meta perks, lol we might as well get rid of bloodlust than.
We did and they cried and cried and cried because they couldn't catch anyone. It really showed how bad a lot of killers were when it came to mind gaming.
-
K if we're going to remove perks because they "help you get somewhere faster".
Remove Bloodlust too... or better yet? Remove Brutal Strength, Agitation, PWYF, NOED, Devour Hope and all addons that give some sort of speed increase.
While we're at it, the game's too easy, so let's remove all aura seeing perks as well.

Does it matter how often this happens if its not your fault? When it would only happen when you screw up it would be ok. But it depends on the survivor. When you know that you only win bc survivor are bad, its frustrating.

how do I know if it’s the op fault or not? I don’t care about this 1 example. It doesn’t matter if this 1 example is the op, matchmaking, the survivors he faced, or divine intervention.
this is not an isolated incident. Thais happens frequently. Like I said, the pacing of the game with how it is currently designed coupled with the $&@/!? matchmaking is the underlying problem.
It does matter how often it happens and the fact that you say "You don't care about this 1 example" just shows your ignorance. The fact of the matter is, most killers aren't as good as they think they are and refuse to put the practice in. Killer isn't something you can just pick up and master with 100 hours.

I literally stream my killer games and I have over 2500 hours in just killer alone, but sure sweetheart.
-
Bro. These anti ds threads are getting ridiculous. If you can't deal with not tunneling, then that's on you. As a killer main it's literally the easiest thing in the world to avoid DS and maintain Rank 1.
1) Go after the unhooker
2) If for some reason you do come across the same person, slug them. The number of people that run both DS/Unbreakable isn't as big as you think. At the end of the day, that person is still out of the match for 30 seconds.
3) If there's still 3+ gens left, just eat the DS?
4) Don't tunnel?
-
1st blind on the Oni was too early, but the rest are clearly good. Flashlights have been busted for like a year now with all the changes they keep making to them.
-
Stridor works perfectly fine. Iron Will overrides Stridor, so a survivor with Iron Will and the effects of Stridor would have the same grunts of pain as if they were running No Mither
-
@justtrynaplay said:
Sure so long as survivors can’t spin to abuse animations or bind flashlight to mouse wheel or use stretched res

So....is reading comprehension not your strong suit or?.....
So what am I missing? The fact that we should just take their word on it?
"They got access to confidential information" - Player ID being the only thing listed that's confidential.
"The leaked information cannot be used to identify users, access their accounts or access any financial/sensitive information" - Yet they tell us not to share the Player cloud ID
Then they tell us "As a precaution you should still watch for abnormal activity on your accounts" - If nothing important was stolen, then why?

To anyone who still says Clown is a relatively bad killer, and think the antidote is a waste of time. Watch this video that Otzdarva made about three weeks ago to at least get a general idea as to how it works. And Otz highlights some very good points before the antidote was added, there was times as Clown where you could hit the survivors at the right time with tonic and still not be able to get them if they vaulted a window or still got to a safe pallet in a safe loop. But the antidote basically fixes this issue entirely, and having free 125% movement speed for five seconds in a chase isn't bad and can be extended with add ons. It honestly comes down to you as the player, to understand how to use the antidote effectively. You have to know the activation time really well, you have to know when and to not use it, and most importantly I cannot stress this enough make sure to not let the survivors get a free speed boost. When you're in a chase with a survivor always remember to antidote first, and then tonic after. This will also show why Clown is the superior killer over Freddy when it comes to chasing, and even Doctor in my honest opinion. This is just something I felt like sharing, I wanna critique a certain video at some point here on the forums letting everyone know how to not play Clown.
Except have you watched his 50 win streak on Clown? How often does he actually use the Antidote?

gens are still pretty fast if you're all dedicated and still remains a balance issue imo
Hooking someone and then they unhook right as you take a step away is pretty obnixous cuz you kno they running 2nd chance perks
items are fine imo, toolboxes balance is fine, You can 75% a gen with a good toolbox and addons
Survivor Perks are really strong and that's why atleast 2 are getting an overhaul, get over it
Comms is Op to an extent admit or not, but it's part of this game.
I see it as it's very odd that even after getting whacked you can run at full speed non stop, forever....idk.
I can tell you main survivor dude, get in low ranks in killer and feel the pain
"I can tell you main survivor" - I main killer and I'm rank 1 in both, but nice try though. I don't tunnel, I don't face camp, I don't mori, I don't slug DS and still manage to sit at Rank 1 Killer without an issue. Difference is, instead of complaining about nerfing everything under the sun I adapt and get better.

So you're saying there's nothing wrong in a situation where survivor can run in a straight line for ~30-40 seconds before killer finally catches up? Not even mentioning the situations where survivor just runs around a huge object where chase doesn't trigger and wins enormous amount of time without wasting any resources?
Just saying, the rate at which killer (usually 115%, 4,6 speed, the ones that suffer from W+shift thing) closes the gap between them and survivor is 0.6 meters per second. My math might be off, so I'll be glad if you prove me otherwise, but as far as I know that means it'll take 10 seconds for the killer to close the gap of 6 meters between them and survivor. You can do the rest of the math yourself. Oh, don't forget not to count bloodlust, because W+shift gamers are running outside of chase trigger range which is the main problem here, since bloodlust doesn't activate and doesn't prevent that kind of action.
Because there's literally no situation where you would chase after a survivor in a straight line for 40 seconds.. If you do find yourself in this situation, then you need to rethink your strategy. You shouldn't be chasing a survivor that you can see from a mile away and expecting to catch up to them. And It's absolutely mind boggling that killers find a reason to complain about everything. It's like you just want survivors to be able to walk everywhere.
-
Only rookie survivors think BBQ is OP. It's easily counterable (hiding behind gen/hook auras & in lockers) or if you're far enough away for a killers BBQ to proc, then you have enough time to get out of the area before they reach you.

No one is telling you not to hold forward. It is being discussed because the devs need to balance it: holding forward should not give you as much as it does. The speed boost is one of numerous survivor mechanics (dead hard, decisive, borrowed) that rewards poor play.
You know what else rewards poor play? Bloodlust.
-
@Profezia said:
Tbh there's a serious problem when survivor starts running away when you're ~20 meters away and you can't really do anything about it as long as you're playing M1 killer because closing the gap takes a lot of time and that's not even the chase itself.
Never had this problem myself, since I either play survivor or Blight, but seeing how stupidly long it takes for killer to close distance between them and survivor running straight forward makes me glad I don't play M1 killers.
Solution? Find a new target since they obviously aren't doing their objective now or play a killer that isnt Trapper, Doctor or Bubba.
-
Lets be real here.. It took him 47 seconds to down a survivor while just doing a W chase. He would have wasted even more time against someone at the Killer shack or a T/L wall. Literally every killer with the exception of Trapper, Doctor & Bubba have a way to counter "W gamers".
Wraith - Has high mobility
Billy - Has high mobility
Myers - Has small TR and high mobility in Tier 3
Hag - Traps
Huntress - Ranged Attack
Freddy - Gen teleport to cut survivors off
Pig - Sneak attack
Clown - Slowdown Bottles
Spirit - High mobility
Legion - High Mobility
Plague - Ranged attack
Ghostface - Sneak attack
Demo - Lunge attack
Oni - High mobility
Deathslinger - Small TR & Ranged attack
Blight - High mobility
Twins - High mobility
