If they listened to the community, every perk would be removed bc there's always someone complaining

tbh i would be fine with that. If killers and survivors had zero perks; killers got their powers w/ no addons and survivors just had their items.

Survivor queues have been instant for the past week ever since patch came out.

No idea where you're from but for US players on the East Coast between 7pm-2am, Survivor queues literally take 15-20 minutes.

If the survivors are doing nothing but hiding and avoiding gens you can't really go out and kill them...

Don't you think they deserve that if they ruin the fun?

In over 3500 hours, i've never had a match where survivors hid all match and prevented me from leaving. I've had longer matches as a survivor because of bad 3 gens than as killer due to survivors trying to hide.

I think there should be a way for killers to leave a game without a dc penalty if they end up with a bunch of toxic survivours that won't leave or do gens and just piss you off. Concidering survuviurs can die on first hook if they don't like the way the game is going but killers get dc penalty seems kinda unfair

They wont leave? Force them out (you can open the exit gate yourself). They won't do gens? so kill them.

The fact of the matter is, killers dc'ing is more toxic than a single survivor DC'ing. If a killer DC's you just wasted all 4 survivors times and you force them to sit in queue for another 15+ minutes to find a match. Where as if a survivor DC's or kills themself, the killer still gets points and the survivors can still continue playing.

So I was waiting in a lobby as killer, I check the profiles of the survivors in the lobby and find out 2 Meg and a Dwight were in a SWF. I decide to play anyway because I couldn't be bothered to wait for another lobby. Just 1 second before the match starts 1 of the Meg in that SWF switches to a full toxic-mode Nea with the classic bright costume and pick hair with a flashlight with the obvious intent to bully low rank killers abusing the SWF ranking system (I just returned after a 3 years break and I am currently playing in green ranks). On top of that, as I discovered at the end, he was the one responsible for us to end up on Ormond using an Ormond offering.

The match starts and, being pretty pissed about that Nea's behaviour, I decide to purposefully tunnel his other 2 friends to death until, after several missed flashlight saves and clicks done with the sole purpose of trying to annoy me, he decides to DC out of the match. After killing the 4th random and seeying the post game chat the Nea writes that I should unistall the game and that he Dc'ed in order to not give me any points. He obviously didn't realized my toxic behaviour was due to his last second switch and I decided to not even reply to him.

Now, I'm not here to discuss about the rampant toxic and shameful state this game has unfortunately been stuck in for years but just to ask why the ######### are survivors still allowed to last second switch into other characters with different equipment while killers to not able to change killer during a lobby anymore? Why did they add this restriction only for killers and not for survivors as well?

Two reasons.. A) Because survivor queues are incredibly long; so we use that time to buy stuff in the bloodweb on other survivors. Killer queues are instant. B) Because survivors arent individually tracked for MMR; where all killers are individually ranked.

"Listen to the community".... hm no thank you, if we do everything will be nerfed to the ground because people want their easy escape and free 4k.

If they listened to the community, we wouldn't be in this dumpster fire of a situation the game is currently in. 90% of players did not want the movement changes or HUD update.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

Just run Unbreakable simple as that.

So now we have to run DS/Unbreakable to prevent slugging? The exact combo that you guys cried we use too much and is the main reason DS got nerfed to begin with?

"I'm saying it now if you have a problem with DH as a killer then you just aren't good at killer"

It's one of the most used perks in the game, is consistently regarded as one of the most powerful perks in the entire game, there's plenty of evidence that a 1st chase dead hard can drastically affect the entire trial, and the perk itself can grant free endgame escapes but ok sure it's really not that good just a mediocre perk that only bad killers complain about.

Get off your high horse. I don't even believe you, anyone that brings up desync issues in relation to DH is full of crap because this is something temporary which will be fixed very shortly and has only been in the game a few weeks. It's not going to be there for much longer.

If it's the most used, the most powerful and can drastically effect an entire trial (Like NOED?).. Then why were you guys begging for a DS nerf before a Dead Hard nerf? No one was complaining about dead hard until DS got nerfed. Hell the perk doesnt even work 75% of the time.. you end up dead on the floor.

    Nice whataboutism.

Also, a single strong perk? We just gonna ignore BT, DS, OoO, iron will, SB, adrenaline, UB being meta asf and Deli, prove thyself and spine chill also being very good perks?

Survivors have a lot of good perks, and a few unfair perks. DH being an unfair one.

And so do killers.. it goes both ways. We just gonna ignore Noed, Pop, Devour, Ruin, Corrupt, Haunted Ground, STBFL, PWYF, M&A, Tinkerer, Thrilling, Infectious, a billion tracking perks and their own unique powers? And I said "Are we not allowed to have a single strong perk" because at the rate you guys are complaining, every survivor perk will eventually be nerfed into the ground.

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

You do realise people are complaining about dead hard because it's unfair right?

Sorry you think that "E to undo mistake" is fine for the game.

Other exhaustion perks while annoying do not come even close to how unfair and frustrating dead hard is to verse.

You know what else is unfair? NOED.. Bloodwarden.. VPN Killers.. Being hit after vaulting a window and getting 10 feet away from it.. being hit through a pallet.. Spirit's existence.

Are survivors not allowed to have a single strong perk?.. Besides Dead Hard doesn't even work 75% of the time.

  • @Rivyn said:

So, because one thing gets nerfed, it means the other unbalanced things aren't an issue anymore? Pyramid Head got a nerf awhile back. Does that mean Freddy shouldn't get one? Nurse was nerfed, so Spirit shouldn't be adjusted? This is an ever evolving multiplayer game. There will always be changes.

What, you think because infinites were 'fixed,' (even though they were reintroduced with breakable walls recreating them), other issues shouldn't be resolved?

Gens weren't touched, Prove Thy Self was, even though it was a slight adjustment, while Ruin was gutted.

Toolboxes may be controversial, I'll give you that.

Saboing was nerfed, because you can't 99 a hook anymore? Or was it because hooks respawn after a set time? You don't see an issue with that, considering what SWF can bring?

    What's wrong with map reworks?

We don't know about keys. What, you think keys should be left alone, while Mori's were adjusted? And you say you play 50/50?

If you don't see the issue with DS as it stands, then I don't know what to tell ya. The core of DS remains the same, it just can't be abused as easily anymore.

OoO is a toxic perk. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. Why you brought it up is beyond me.

From your rant, it seems you want things to stay the same. How can you hope for growth if it's a stale mess that's never fixed? Wanting balance equals greed in your eyes?

No I want behavior to stop catering to every single person that chooses to beg for nerfs instead of just learning how to overcome.. When I started DBD, things weren't handed to you.. You had to work for every escape, you had to work for every kill.. now it's just pathetic that everyone wants everything nerfed.

  • Sept 2019 - February 2021 is a year and 4 months..... smh

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Correction. Keys, DS and OoO have yet to be changes. OoO wasen't even confirmed it just a concept

Also worth mentioning that the little list you made is in the span of 3 years or something.

That said. When the above are actually changed I think most grand issues would be fixed.

But people won't stop asking for nerfs. Earlier this week there was a guy complaining that killers could deny his spine chill by moonwalking and that they were op for being able to move faster.

It's a gamer problem not a killer problem

That wasn't over the span of 3 years.. I've only been playing since Sept 2019 and all of this has happened since then.

  • So I do sympathize with him as someone who use to suffer from bad internet issues. I do think that they need to fix the disconnect penalties in some way. A lot of games will allow you to jump back into the game mid match and you're replaced by a bot until you reconnect.

  • I don't understand it honestly.. I see it all over the gaming community. Back in the day before social media was as big as it was; you couldn't complain.. you couldn't beg for things nerfed. You were stuck with what you got and it was up to you to figure out a way to increase your skill level to overcome it.

Nowadays, everyone just wants easy mode.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/228615/the-ds-change-looks-good-but

I've had this discussion before so I'll jump to the conclusion and give a brief overview.

The obsession is information, giving an obsession to the survivors for free removes information for the killer. This means that there has to be a trade off.

If you cannot balance the trade of (my opinion being able to have 2 survivors as obsessions ) and give information to the killer to replace this then I don't think it should occur.

Camping makes a killer lose, so to do this to make your life easier means that you have to give something In return.

I've debated this at length on another post, but I don't think you can balance it and still remove the disadvantage of less information for the killer by giving them an advantage, and this means you shouldn't do it.

Camping doesn't make the Killer lose if done properly.. if anything it guarantees a win.

    Kill 1 survivor

    Camp the 2nd

The 3rd comes for the rescue

4th sits on a gen/looks for totems or worse they also attempt to go for the save.

  • Lol it's never enough... Are you guys just going to keep begging for survivor nerfs until the only thing they can do is walk everywhere, with no items and they can only have 1 perk?

  • The only instadowns that are bullshit are the ones that can hit multiple survivors at once (Oni & Leatherface).. aside from that it's fine.

  • @Tsulan said:

Nice how you put perks on the survivor nerf list, that got buffed several times.

What perks on the survivor list got buffed several times? They literally ALL got nerfed.

  • What do you mean which? There's literally only two.. Fragile Wheeze and Dark Cincture

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

    • Survivors hate Tunnelling and Camping.
    • Survivors also hate Gen Regression/Defense Perks that allows the Killer to extend the match without having to Tunnel/Camp. (Ruin +Undying rewarded Killers for Map Control a and allowed Killer to do multiple chases).

Survivors - Rushes gens in 3-4 mins giving the Killer no time to do multiple chases or get close to the 12 Hook counter. What does this cause?

    • Camping
    • Tunnelling
    • Slugging

    Pop - Nerfed

    Ruin - Nerfed

    Undying - Nerfed

    Pig Traps - Nerfed

Freddy Add-Ons - Nerfed (Most likely will again)

So my question is this. If Survivor mains hated Ruin + Undying so much are you guys actually wanting the Killer to play more lame as that is the direction the game is heading. I don't like Camping nor Tunnelling but let's be honest we have all had at least 1 match where we have been forced to do so to secure a Kill after a 3-4 min game. Not only does this create very unfun gameplay for Killer but it's obviously very unfun for Survivors.

Undying had 0 reason to be nerfed as it allows Killers to somewhat follow the Survivor Rule book to allow them to last longer in a match but for some reason Undying was considered "Unhealthy" for the game. How is a Perk that allows the match to be longer than 3-4 mins unhealthy for the game exactly? Meanwhile perks like Insidious are still in this game, a perk that is honestly only used for 1 lame purpose. Insidious could be great if reworked correctly so it actually has a good purpose.

I wouldn't be surprised if Devour got some sort of Nerf later down the track as that has recently replaced Ruin but if the Devs want to use "Stats" for their Balance then by that logic we should be seeing a Nurse buff at some stage, I'm personally fine with Nurse at the moment, I play her without addons but if the devs want to go off stats then I won't say no to a buff to her.

Survivors crying nerfs? I think you're mistaken.. Killers are the Kings of begging for nerfs.

Survivor Nerfs: Exhaustion -> Insta Heals -> Borrowed Time -> Balanced Landing -> Infinites -> Gen Speeds (Repair times, Toolboxes & Addons) -> Hook Saboing -> More Map Nerfs -> Decisive Strike (x50) -> Object of Obsession -> And now they're going after Dead Hard.

Killer Nerfs: Ruin, PGTW(15 seconds is hardly a nerf), Mori's, Undying (Even though it's now stronger with Huntress Lullaby and Devour Hope)

Because it's not specific and it's not detailed in the explanation on how it happens. It doesn't happen every game, it happens in some games. If I knew the exact thing that causes it I would write the steps to reproduce it.

Let's put it like this. You have a piece of code that is used for the Nurses blink and there are a few codes running simultaneously with it (concurent actions or as programmers refer to as threads). So basically, if one piece of code intercepts the other (lets say the Nurse gets stunned and the process has to aknowledge it the codes get simultaneously activated), that just might be the cause of it, but it has to happen at a specific time when it occurs. The code for Nurses blink might get stuck in a loop because of it, so they know where the problem is and they can fix it.

But if they don't know what caused it, they don't know where to fix it. Reworking the code for the Nurse blink doesn't make sense cause it can screw up other stuff and the best they can do is patch it when they find the problem. And the problem can be anyware. It might be the add-on combination, it might be the perk combination, it might be the offering combination, it might be the animation interaction.

So let's do some math: you have 25 killers which means 25x3 = 75 killer perks + perks that aren't associated with each killer. Let's stick to killer perks only. You chose one out of 75, you still have 74 more to choose for second. You chose another perk and then you are left with 73 choices for the third. Repeate the same process for the forth and you can choose 1 out of 72 choices. So there are in total 75x74x73x72= 29.170.800 combinations. And you have to take into account that you don't want to repeat the perks in a different order so you have to divide with 1x2x3x4 = 24. So you get a total of 29.170.800/24 = 1.215.450 killer perk combinations that need to be tested. So add to the numbers survivor perks, add-ons & offerings and the numbers just go higher. It's not efficient, nor easy to test this for every issue reported, beacuse of the number of combination and that's why they didn't figure the issue out. Which is why if you don't know what causes it, it's very hard to figure out.

If you know the cause of it, it's easier to patch and that's why they ask for instructions on how to reproduce it. And they also have the logs (which non of us attached) that detail the order of actions that happened, so they can follow up the the course of action that led to the issue.

I use double recharge add-ons with pop/bbq/discordance/corrupt and literally reproduce this bug every single match.

  • Literally 4 years later and not because they wanted to.. but because they were forced to after a dev that wont be named decided to give an unprofessional response to someone asking about it. Then Steve Spohn (A Twitch Ambassador) and COO @AbleGamers which is a charity Improving the lives of gamers with disabilities utilizing the power of videogames along with Kotaku put them on blast for not having it in the game.

Then magically "OH We actually have it in the works", yet when everyone was asking about it they never mentioned it.

  • When survivors t-bag in the exit gate and you manage to down one and hook them leading to a snowball effect.

  • Monto posted on Twitter this morning that he wasnt streaming DBD until the game was fixed.

  • This looks like a combination of a VPN Killer, Lag and our current desync issue all combined into one.

It's just me or the gens are flying like hell in every single match? Survivors don't heal anymore and just hold M1 on gens separatadely to get the BPS from the envelopes. They don't care if they're gonna die for that, they just need to push the gens ASAP.

And I can't even play survivor cause I get hit from 6 meters alway.

Because there's literally no point in trying to do anything else. We get hit from a mile away so there's not even a point to healing. Just gen rush and get out as fast as possible.

    I don't need bloodpoints.

Stop being so entitled. We don't need or deserve bloodpoints. We deserve a better HUD, bug fixes and better content. I'd be happy with those.

Stop being so entitled? Oh i'm sorry, I didn't realize BHVR pays us to play their game. You seem to forget that WE spend money on this game and pay their checks. "We deserve a better HUD & Bug Fixes" no we don't deserve this because we shouldn't have had these issues to begin with. BHVR is the one that refused to listen to any of our feedback in the PTB. There was absolutely no reason for them to force the update through when they could have fixed it prior to launch.

So yeah, asking for 1 million bloodpoints (Something that doesn't effect them monetarily) is not being entitled. Considering the fact that we didn't even get an apology from them an then they had the balls to say "Here's an event! Buy these new skins"

  • @bjorksnas said:

Content is the lifeblood of this game if it slowed down the game would stagnate to the extend where people might have enough freetime to make a game that updates faster with a similar premise

Eventually they'll have to slow down at somepoint. You cant have dozens upon dozens of killers and it allows players to get more hyped and speculate more.

Oh yeah I was. I went from Rank 20 to rank 8 with only 2 matches that had an escape; both of which occurred due to bugs.

  • @WeenieDog said:

Hexy is also really competitive, and the fact that there isn't a real matchmaker means that you have one guy that is playing to win and 4 other people that may be just playing for fun. Maybe that will change with their overhaul.

I also rarely ever see Fungoose's swf ever lose, but again, not all killers sweat out their games.

Yeah but at the same time; even Otz who's touted to be one of the best loses games every now and then. The fact that Hexy's been undefeated for over a month now; playing various killers is odd.

For those that joined in letting your voices be heard, thanks to you as well! My reason for protesting was just to have them address the issue and they now have so I'll be returning to the game and I hope others will as well (Although it still unplayable :/).

Did what? We did literally nothing. They didn't apologize, they didn't make any commitments and you guys are eating it up.

No, people need to stop acting like a snotty ungrateful 8 year old who didn’t get the super nice expensive toy that they wanted for Christmas. It’s safe to assume most people here on the forums are over 18+ years of age yet they’re still acting like a 8 year old over a HUD system.

People need to stop acting ungrateful? Sorry but first of all; we PAY for this game. We PAY for our cosmetics and spend OUR time playing a game to keep BHVR and THEIR employees stable throughout a global pandemic. THEY released a "PUBLIC TEST SERVER" to request OUR FEEDBACK on a change NO ONE asked for and they didn't even ask us about. Then when they received an almost unanimous cry of NEGATIVE feedback; THEY blatantly said THEY didn't care and were putting it through anyway. THEY used console players as a scapegoat; claiming that "Console players needed to play it first hand".

So no.. We're not acting ungrateful. We're tired of having OUR time wasted. We're tired of being LIED to and we're tired of being treated like **** by the Developers.
