Way too many.
Honestly, prestiging is not such a big deal, you can do it in a day the thing is the more characters you have the more perks you have to unlock. If I remember correctly it was around 1.5 million BPs to go from lvl 1 to lvl 50 fast, so I guess it's around 6 million to get to P3 and then if you start to buy more useful stuff it gets more expensive. That's a lot. Are you a completionist?
-
Is it enabled already or will it be added with the patch?
-
All these people that are 21 or younger were born after 2000 and my brain can't process that. It can't :(
-
Nurse - God Nurses are challenging af, I love that. And baby Nurses are hilarious, so either one is okay.
Myers - The real horror in this game, I love the jumpscares of a good mirror or the constant paranoia when it's a tombstone Myers
Pinhead - I like the dynamics with his chains and I love the addition of the cube for survivors to have another objective
Blight - Big boy goes bump bump whooooosh
Doctor - Maniac sob, trying to avoid his shocks is fun tho, he's challenging
Ghostface - Similar to Myers, but the reveal function is a little bugged
Freddy - I love the creepy ambiance when he sends you into the dreamworld
Plague - It's always fun to against her, but playing solo Q is risky af because you don't know how your teammates will handle the sickness
Hillbilly - He's cool, he has his sneaky moments and some jumpscares here and there
Clown - Alright, not much of a fan but his chase music is way too good
Demo - Who's a good boy? You are a good boy, yes you are
Oni - Legend has it that once every two million years an Oni main will find you, enjoy
Executioner - He's okay, I like the dynamics with the cages. Adds something different
Trapper - Not bad but he suffers a lot with some maps, otherwise fun
Nemesis - I hate his zombies, but he's still fun. His chase music is good too
Wraith - There are TOO. MANY. WRAITHS. Not the worst tho
Pig - She's cool but I feel I'm always unlucky and waste too much time with her traps
Legion - They are fun, the chases are good
Huntress - Even more Huntresses than Wraiths, I used to want to be a Huntress main, now I see her so often I started to dislike her a little
Trickster - When they are not constantly spamming their knives they are fun to go against
Hag - Ugh, not a fan of her 3 million traps at once but mmmkay
Leatherface - Could have placed him higher if it wasn't for the face camping Bubba stereotype
Spirit - I've had too many Spirits fake-phasing while camping a hook I just don't like her
Deathslinger - Kinda annoying even though I appreciate that he's unique in what he does
Twins - Ugh
Artist - UUUUUGGGGHHHHH
-
Ranks don't matter but they do mean something. If ranks reset on the 13th and by the 15th someone's already Iri 1, well, they did play a lot and they played efficiently. If we are like three weeks since the last reset and someone is still Ash it means they either don't play that much or they are still not familiar enough with the game to progress. Either one still puts them in a disadvantage against the ones who get to Iri really fast. I wish the MMR took that into consideration.
-
I think the time of the year doesn't help much either, I assume many of the players are probably doing some other activities during Holidays. Maybe in a couple of weeks it goes back to normal. I've gotta say my queue times have been great lately but today it's taking forever to find a match

If I own demo, can I use jolt? Its listed as a demo perk for me.
I have to say btw, its so fun getting 5x merciless with trash perks, against the current MMR meta. Survivors have to do a gen and escape though, so its fair.
All Adepts are harder to do as Killer, I think that's why they made the survivor two different achievements one with two perks and the other one with three, eight times each.

I must’ve been playing really bad lately because when I’m playing survivor it feels like my teammates are relatively new. Lots of hiding behind a rock while you do a gen nearby or they constantly hesitate to unhook another teammate or myself. Lots of running the killer straight to the gen being worked on.
I’ve had my ups and downs with solo but something happened and it’s either that I started sucking more than usual or MMR has decided I am to be put in the 9th layer of match making Hell.
I feel your pain. I've been trying to get the old Nancy & Steve achievements, I'm trying to do it now that I already secured the 250,000 BPs for the Iri 1 so I'm going into matches with only two generic perks. I don't expect much from the matches but man, twice I had randoms unhook me right next to the killer, to the ground again and dead. In another match a Claudette that started AFK, insta downed, I saved her and she ran away before I could heal her. Same match, a Jake hiding in the lockers for several minutes (I didn't notice, the killer told me in the post-game chat).

I love playing this killer, however, I'm aware that she isn't well liked. But is that universally true, any survivors who do like playing against her, or is it all hate?
What do you feel when you see an Artist?
I try to sit on a gen, do a totem and maybe an unhook and just hope for the match to end quickly
-
Not really, it's been pretty fast lately even late at night. Probably the holidays have something to do with it. Have you tried restarting the game or verifying the integrity of the game files on Steam? Sometimes when the game is weird that works

You can use "join party" instead of invite and will auto-join their lobby

Omg please just quit with these kind of posts. Survivors, killers, this is exactly why this game will never be balanced because both sides are at war and it’s a never ending cycle of two cry baby ridden roles that act like their side can do no wrong. It’s so tiring, why can’t the community just come together and acknowledge the problems of both sides? Jesus Christ it’s really not that hard people.
Yes, please. I hate how almost every thread leads to a "us vs them" war. Some people cross the thin line of being a Main into being a Stan and will spit hateful comments towards other players to defend an imaginary tribe of their own. I kinda wish the forum had a separate place for people to rant and fight over roles and a different more strict section for actual discussion and exchange of ideas :/

I don't even know who's on console or PC anymore, I freaked out when I had a supposed console player say gg at the end of a match, only to find out it was an Epic Store player.

Yeah, It's kinda amazing he did that.
I would kinda want to see killer version, where there is only 1 killer played (MMR reason). Not really S tier, but not D tier neither. Nemesis would be interesting too see, he is nice middle ground imo.
I would kill myself before reaching 100 games tho....
It'd be interesting to see something like that for a number of killers. I don't understand how the game doesn't provide these numbers tbh, I suppose they must have some kind of data stored with all these numbers. I don't know why they wouldn't make them public for people to see themselves. I wouldn't even mind if it was some kind of paid benefit, like paying a certain amount in order to access your own data. I remember a looong time ago CS:GO did something like that for the first time, with a lot of stats, best maps, number of headshots, etc etc and many people bought the pass ticket.

Yeah, I know. It gets very annoying when you lose DIRECTLY because of the team especially when it's a game you're winning by a large margin. It can become super tempting to not count the match.
I had intended to track killer stats too but I couldn't resist doing things like extending the matches for points so the results wouldn't really be true if I tracked them. I didn't like being a try hard killer.
That week was painful. I'm an average MMR survivor, so I'm in no position to carry a team, and I had people with less than 50 in-game hours. Sometimes it was a teammate, sometimes it was the killer, neither option was fun :/
If you ever do something like that as a killer maybe you could focus on things that are not directly affected by you. Like for example, you could keep track of what perks the survivors use, how many times/how soon they clean Hex Totems, how many times they use exhaustion perks in-game, etc.
-
I love numbers <3
I wanted to do something like that but I saw way too many DCs, deaths on the first hook, and suicides during the week the game was free on Epic. The matches were awfully weird too :/
-
It's an interesting concept I'd like to see someday, but it has to be really well designed to prevent comms from negating their main power

You can play with your friends. But your challenge is the computer. It becomes like Left 4 Dead or Back 4 Blood.
It's literally impossible to fix the advantages SWF have over solo queue without making a different queue. And having bot killers for SWF means they can tweak numbers up and down super easily to make every game a fun challenge. No more tunneling. No more camping. No more slugging. Have bots for all the killers and you get a wider experience than Nurse/Blight/Huntress/Spirit at high MMR. And best of all: instant queues. It's literally the solution to every complaint that survivors have.
The only thing that bot games take away from SWF is that the players are not stomping on other human players. So, if the only reason you play DbD is the chance to ruin another person's day, I guess bots would kill the game experience for you. But surely not ALL SWF groups are made just to easily stomp other players, right? It's about playing with your friends and having a chill time, right?
So you, the company trying to sell a product that's supposed to be a 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer game will just decide that from now on everyone who plays with friends will have to do this specific thing and won't be allowed to vs other players. How does it look?
This is a game to us the player base, but it's business to the developers, you can't just expect a solution that will be detrimental to their economic interests. That's not how the market works. Especially now when you have at least a couple of other DbD look-alikes and a potential rival with Bubba's new game next year.
With that same mindset, you could say that anyone that doesn't want to play against SWF could just go play some story mode single-player game. The idea is to try and find the best possible balance, but explicitly segregating a part of the player base is not the way.
And for the last paragraph, yes. Some people do play this game with friends to chill and not to stomp on anyone, same as some killers play to have fun and not to stomp on Solo Qs. Behind these "mains" there are people, and not everyone is out there hating on the other side or trying to stomp on anyone else.

Thank you Feng Min main! Couldn't have done it without you

@Adjatha said:
SWF needs to have bot killers, not human players. Leave human killers and solo survivors to be balanced against one another and let SWF go against a bot that directly scales with the team's average MMR.
Bots can't come soon enough.
Bots will come eventually but not to eliminate SWFs. You can't promote a game by telling people they can't play with their friends because if they do all they get are bots, especially when the 4v1 asymmetrical genre is getting new faces out there

I'm told that it's to prevent drawn-out games of cat-and-mouse, but it seems weird that the solution is just impromptu execution
Yeah, sounds weird imo. I mean, if you have DH you can avoid the insta-down, if you have DS you can d-strike if they catch you, if Unbreakable you can get up if they slug you. There are a lot of perks there that are negated just to prevent another what? 20 seconds of a match?.
Sounds weird, especially when there doesn't seem to be anything else done in other similar scenarios like unnecessarily bleeding out survivors and teabagging/flashlight dances at exit gates, two things that contribute nothing at all and are still there.
-
I've always wondered the same but with the regular 4% chances, weird design I guess
-
I'm conflicted about this thread, as much as I love data and actual numbers behind the opinions we see every day here, I don't know if this is helping the cause at all. Whether it is for a good or a bad cause you are intentionally ruining the experience to at least 10 survivors per day.
Feelings aside, the other thing that's a little worrying is that if the numbers keep showing that face camping is actually efficient, we get more people salty about it every day, we pile up complaints, yeah I don't know how this helps bubba. I'd rather focus on a rework on his mechanics so that IF his face camping ever gets nerfed, he still stands a chance in the low & mid MMRs.

I see a lot around here about people saying killers are op, this killer needs nerfed, this killer perk needs nerfed, etc. And its always a complaint about the dumbest thing. People just constantly wanting killers to be made weaker. They get upset about camping and tunneling and slugging, yet those are the only real ways for killers to keep up once their mmr increases. There is a reason, you know. If the killers are made any more weaker, this willl just become a regular thing. You guys should actually join those calling for killer buffs, especially since there isn't much they can do against survivors with a decent amount of coordination. But, since YOU don't know how to deal with a certain killer, went against them once, and dc every other time you get the, you claim they are op. Survivors, do you all realize this game is a 4v1? And this game isn't you vs the killer, its you and your three other teammates versus the killer? In a good asymmetrical game, the side with 1 player should be at east as strong as the 4. Instead, this whiny community just keeps tilting the scales further and further to survivors, to the point where the killer role is basically just a joke at this point. Again, you are on a team of 4. The killer is on their own. They should be as strong as the four combined
You can buff killers to balance the game around competitive SWF, or you can nerf killers to balance around 4-man Solo Qs, there's no in-between that will feel 100% balanced. What we get now may give you an easy match now and an unbeatable rival next match, it's quite random really. But the reason the majority of survivors won't join the cause is that most of them are just Solo Qs, not sweaty squads, so buffing killers will only hurt them not the others

Something is definitely weird tonight, running into the clickiest, most aggravating survivors ever.
If only we had some kind of matchmaking that matched the clicky-clicky squads with the bloodlust sweaty killers
-
I mean, most of the time the threads are not even meant to have a proper discussion, it's either a rant after a bad game or a (ROLE) main complaining that everything is so (OTHER-ROLE)-sided. How can we expect anyone to take suggestions seriously if even when people try to start a discussion it somehow ends with another us vs them thread?

Honestly i have little faith in that as it is not something you can easily punish killer for because of all the variables.
But i am curious what they are trying tho, who knows and the manage to surprise me even.
Tho a little side note.
It is something created by the devs themselves at the higher MMR, but that is an entire different topic.
Edit:
i think the best way is to look at why it is done and the state of the game and take on that first, before taking on camping and punish killers for it 😉
Maybe it's some kind of mechanics like Pyramid Head's cages? I'm not sure if that'd be better or worse, but I can't think of any other way of preventing facecamping.

It works because, believe it or not, there are actual people behind survivors who may feel bad for a teammate being unable to play due to a massive overlook in the game design.
When I am in that situation I will normally try to save my teammate, it will cost me the match but I will still try because it is the decent thing to do, it is not about winning, it is about trying to give a person the chance to play the videogame.
It is beyond absurd that camping and tunneling are still in the game, especially with bubba or trickter bypassing even BT
Yeah, it happens to me when I get a camper playing solo Q. Even though I know it's risky I still want to try and help the guy being camped to give him at least a chance to play the game. But whenever it's me I just want to desperately tell my teammates not to engage lol
It's a different story if I'm playing SWF, whoever gets camped will just die on the hook. No exceptions. Just let the others know you are being camped and it's gen simulator for the next minutes. No hard feelings.
I don't know what happened to the old "raise your hands on hook to let them know the killer is camping", I wish that was a thing again xD
-
I'm gonna assume you are just starting and have only the base-kit killers.
For me the best choice would be Wraith, you can start with a stealthier killer to begin to learn the usual places where to find survivors at the start of the match. It's easier to watch and learn from some of the things they do while being undetected. Also, you'll have a ton of speed so you can work on your gen patrol.
EDIT: But don't hesitate to give the others a try too. You never know, maybe you find another one that fits your playstyle better. Let me say if you feel comfortable with Nurse you will have an amazing start to this game lol

Honestly for game modes even something as simple as a killer training mode to learn the killers powers and use it to practice perk builds would help alot as well and just to be honest about some modes like8vs2 with this build of the game would be a nightmare just cause it could still be one sided due to meta I would like to be wrong but I figured I'd give my 2 cents on game mode ideas.
IMO training courses should be similar to how they are now. A match against bots without any perks. I think it's better to learn how to use the basekit power of each killer first and not to rely on add-ons or perks from the start.
-
It probably has something to do with the game being free on Epic a while ago. I guess it's a matter of time until these new players either get better at the basic stuff or just drop the game.
-
To be fair, if the guy was rescued from hook, ran your tunneling, dead harded a hit, crawler to the exit gate AND d-striked to run back to the exit, that's not a free win. A free win would be the Mikaela I had a few matches ago that did (not even kidding) NOTHING, and crouched for two whole hook states to try and get hatch.
-
Nea and Felix, and occasionally I could use Meg. Those are the three I have P3 lvl 50 with the right perks. The rest of them I left them at lvl 40 after unlocking their perks so it's complicated to use them. I try only when I have a challenge or ritual
-
What if the game KNOWS the killers we dislike the most and they match us with them just to mess with us?
-
Not gonna lie, when I read the title I expected a completely different kind of comment. Glad I was wrong. 😁 It's always nice seeing the criticisms and suggestions from someone who has experienced both sides.
I like your suggestions, especially the idea of updating the tutorials to give new players a better start. For survivors, I'd even have a short guide on the most common "teamwork mechanics" that may come in handy later. And for killers, I say you should have different tutorials for each one of them you have unlocked because learning to place traps with the Trapper doesn't really help much with my blinks with Nurse. Also, for killers such as Trapper or Hag, maybe a quick walkthrough on the best ways to place your traps, or other like Huntress maybe a course to better your aim. Idk, some things can be learned by watching other people on YT but it would really help if the basics could be integrated into the main game by default via tutorials and training grounds.

If you want to be kind for the sake of it, then their response shouldn't affect you. If you want them to play in the way you want to play, you'll have to either communicate it somehow (letting them know you want to farm) or just accept that some people want to play they game the way it's meant to be played and don't have to play the way someone else's want them to. As @Nickeleye said before, it may come out as if you were trolling them

-
@Buily09 What kind of sorcery is this? It's not been an hour since I said I'm seeing her less and less and now I just got matched against one? lol
Tunneled a Kate right off-hook at the very start of the match, then hooked and camp me while "skillfully" faking phases, then slugged the other two players for almost the whole process, of course, she picked them up right when they were about to die to make them waste even more time... so yeah, I remember now why I never liked this one. Better to keep seeing the least of her lol
-
I'm seeing her less and less too
-
I had a match against a Huntress that stood all game facing a wall, in the post game chat they said they were trying to lower their MMR so they get easier matches. Idk if it works really, but that may be one way around it. I guess if you get many matches with 0k you will eventually be moved to lower level games, worse survivors or maybe more newbies.
