Too bad that if it gets too bad, many of us have the power of the Nvidia control console and can turn the gamma up.
Haven't had to do that myself in years though - but it's a thing. :D
Still plenty of LOS blockers and perks to help stay invisible.

Calm Spirit, Lockers and staying out of your terror radius say otherwise 💜
*Note, this is only if you tunnel and camp from the start. Otherwise, I play differently if everyone is chill.

Its to punish all the killers who camp and tunnel from the start of the match. Take your eyes off of us for one second and you'll cry tears of blood trying to find us again.

I would have been so pissed if this happened in a random match, but knowing you're friends and hearing the laughing made it hilarious.

I have Carpal Tunnel and my fingers (sometimes my entire forearm) can start to hurt when I button mash the space bar. This will be a relief for me.

Claudette is the correct answer. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar.
-
Lots of tunneling and semi camping Tricksters. Lots of try-hard survivors who rush for flashlight saves that they never get. Lots of hook farming teammates. Very little diversity in the killers I face.
I finally switched out Self Care (yes I am bad) for Inner Strength. I like it so far, but I wish it let you save 2 charges after cleansing 2 totems.
Overall, it seems like everyone on both sides are being super sweaty compared to how it was 3-4 months ago.

LOOOOL, early killer days are so funny to remember. The funny part about your thing is that I KNOW you probably had games where nobody even came for the basement save, since some low ranked survivors don't even understand how they get into the basement, or if they do, they are NOT planning on going on down there LMAO
Insidious on Wraith though... 😭😭 LMAOO
Yea, I thought Wraiths power just let him be invisible but kept his terror radius active. A nice survivor in endgame chat gave me some good advice and cleared it up for me, so now when I see a killer struggle, I try to give them some tips.
And yes, lots of survivors never came for the save, or quickly figured out my lovely strategy and would just go back to gens. I learned quickly that camping doesn't pay against players who have 2 brain cells. It works great against bad players though.

That was me when I first started playing the game on switch 😭😭😭 which is funny, because I REFUSED to face camp, but still immediately phase walked back to the hook LMAOOOO
Don't feel bad, back when I first tried out killer, I thought I was smart by camping the basement as an invisible Wraith. I was thinking to myself "stupid survivors gonna regret coming for the rescue". To make matters even more pathetic, I used to run Insidious on Wraith too. I was so bad 😭
-
The only time I think Spirits are boring are the lazy ones who don't patrol gens and just camp hooks from a distance and tunnel them the second someone unhooks. Unfortunately, many of them do this and it gets tiring.
-
@Harold_Shipman said:
Scenario:
you are hooked by a wraith. He goes bing bong.
You are unhooked. You run from the hook and find somewhere out of sight to start healing. You begin to med kit.
The second you begin your heal, he uncloaks nearby and heads right over to you. You are still injured and now you have no DS.
That is 100% tunnelling. You can replace the wraith with a blight who rushes over or pretty much anything really.
Beginning to self heal is not advancing objectives. It does not alter the state of play for the killer in any way until you are actually healed. The only reason I can think of that you are against changing DS to only deactivate after fully/50%/75% healing yourself is that you do, in fact, want to tunnel somebody.
There is a solution for this. It may not be easy or convenient, though I don't think everything in the game should be, when hooked, you can run to a loop and have a teammate heal you. If the Killer follows you there, you have DS still up since your teammate did the healing, not you, and you have the loop to help waste more of the killers time.
Survivors should always have some risk and should never feel 100 percent safe.
Also, does Inner Strength cancel out DS? If not, that is an option.

To be honest, you picked a very weak killer, picked the most busted map in the game, brought no add-ons and were running perks with very little value.
The outcome was probably going to be the same irregardless of the survivor ranks.
Clown is not weak. A clown that is prepared and knows what he is doing is actually very strong. What he lacks in map pressure, he makes up with quickly ending chases. Yea, he isn't Nurse or Spirit, but I'd never call him weak.

First I hear of the Doc's remodel as well. I'm pretty sure the Nurse was most recently done, though I don't see her often enough to notice.
I just wish they would go all out with the remodels and allow more customization of our characters. Things I'd like would be:
- Skin color. Nothing to extreme, just lighter or darker to reflect if they have a tan or have been indoors for a long time.
- Separate slots for body parts. I'd like to be able wear unique hats, necklaces, scarves, earrings, jackets, shirts, jackets over shirts, ties, ear muffs, shoes, pants, gloves, cloaks/capes, rings, and even glasses and hair accessories. Customization is one of my favorite parts of any video games and I hope they won't be lazy with it here.

It would be like being confused why fans are complaining about the new Michael Myers movie when Mike is dressed in a tutu with a rubber chicken as a weapon.
I would watch a movie with that version of Michael Myers. Heck, I'll go against my rule of not buying cosmetics and buy Michael Myers and the cosmetic and go back to playing killer.

I don't want to step into awkward territory here lol, but he probably used that VHS tape to "satisfy himself" instead of the people honestly.
If he even has that (and probably more), then he would most likely have only caught victims for their fingers because he is crazy for them. He is insane (not as much as doctor tho) for fingers and you can tell by the way he treats them. In his mori, he obviously sucks them and then puts them in his box. The box he puts them in has the inside made of velvet or nice silk (I forgot where I read about this in his lore), meaning he treasures them highly. His lore also doesn't mention him "using his victims for pleasure" or imply it either, just that he captures people and takes their fingers.
Ew, the vision you elicited within my mind with your first sentence has defiled my imagination and I am now afraid to close my eyes.

I get you're not trying to be insensitive but a survivor of sexual assault may not be triggered by blood and guts gore, but having a killer that is a pedo or ######### is certainly a bit much.
2010 Freddy is in the game, whose movie confirmed he molested children. Therefore, if that is too much for certain people, they should just refrain from playing the game.

And I didn't say you said they couldn't play the game. I said you have no right to say what these people should or should not play, which you don't. That isn't up to you, and you don't get to act like it is. And on that note, we can agree. They should do their research. I was simply pointing out there is a huge difference between the dark tones the game currently has and the ones mentioned in the post.
I'm not dictating what they should or should not play, though I admit I may have worded it poorly. I just think they shouldn't complain about it in a very violent and gory video game in which they should have done their due diligence before playing.
As for my personal opinion, pedophiles and rapists should never be featured as playable characters in a video game or any kind of media except for the news.

You're wrong and you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to PTSD triggers. If someone was sexually assaulted that has nothing to do with cannibalism being real. There's very few people who have triggers related to cannibalism, impalement, etc, and quite a lot of people who have PTSD caused by sexual assault or childhood sexual assault.
Even just PTSD caused by general violence likely won't be impacted by cartoon violence, because real world violence is very different. People impacted by real world violence are more likely to be triggered by things like guns.
I've lived in a war torn country that had lots of violence(beheadings, missile attacks, torture were all common) for 6 years. I've been abused multiple times throughout my life, sometimes as young as when I was 7. I understand how people can be triggered by different things, my point is that people who can get triggered need to do their due diligence when it comes to video games or entertainment.
Video game developers are not responsible if their violent video game traumatizes people when there are plenty of warnings of said violence.

Freddy is a fair argument, but I'd be pretty comfortable with saying the average consumer would have no idea that's the 2010 version of Freddy. The same thing with Pyramid Head. And yes, this game's violence is cartoonish. It may be violent and bloody, but it's nowhere near realistic. Pretty much all the Mori's since Nurse are incredibly out there.
It's not up to you to say what these victims can and can't play. It's up to them. This is a videogame, people play it to have fun.
I didn't say they can't play it, I said they shouldn't. If they choose to play it, they have no right to complain about any type of the violence contained it in. They should do their due diligence, research the game and make an educated decision before purchasing and playing the game.

I think you missed my point. Yeah-- Cannibalism is real. Serial killers are real. But those things are so uncommon that people who've been traumatized by these things are even more uncommon.
######### and pedophilia, sadly, aren't all that uncommon. The violence in DbD is so over-exaggerated and cartoonish that is makes it harder to connect it to real cases of violence. Adding something more realistic would blur that line.
Pedophilia is already in the game with 2010 Freddy, the line has already been blurred. Doesn't matter how cartoonish (which I don't think it is) the game is, people who have had violent traumatic experiences shouldn't be playing a video game that centers around violence. There are other games they can be playing.

The thing is, nothing you listed is realistic. Somebody like Doctor or Trickster aren't realistic. Rapists and pedophiles are.
Cannibalism is real, so yes, there are people that have been eaten alive. Doesn't matter if it is real or not, if someone has been traumatized by violence, they shouldn't be seeking violence in video games.

just because it doesn't trigger you, doesn't mean they are stupid.
Not to be insensetive, but if things like that trigger someone, then a game where people get impaled on hooks, caught in bear traps, have their liver ripped out and eaten while they're still alive and get forced to choke on someone else's vomit shouldn't be played by them.

I actually agree. I know I called the remake #########, but I didn't outright despise it like many others did. I just wish the producers did some things differently.
- Make Freddy actually innocent. The movie kind of sets this up as a "What If?" but then completely goes back on it and makes Freddy evil. Honestly I think it would have been a cool plot twist if Freddy actually was innocent, and was wrongly accused.
- Kill off Nancy and make Quentin the main character. Quentin was actually one of my favorite parts of the film, because he helped breath some life into it. Similar to point number 1, I think it would have made an interesting plot twist if Freddy actually succeeded in killing Nancy off half way through the movie, and it was left up to Quentin to fight Freddy.
- For gods sake, get rid of the awful CGI. Amazing practical effects have always been a staple of A Nightmare On Elm Street, and seeing the movie have a ######### ton of crappy looking blood and other effects like the classic shot of Freddy pressing his face through Nancy's wall really breaks the immersion.
Obviously a lot of this goes against the og film, but honestly imo that's would have made it enjoyable. I hate remakes of classic movies because they always feel like crappier versions of the originals. That's part of the reason why I like the Friday The 13th remake because it completely changed Jason from being a slow lumbering guy in a mask, to a fast agile hunter. There are still a lot of other things wrong with the movie, but at least it tried (And Succeeded In My Opinion) in adding it's own twist to Jason. I really wish they would have done that with Freddy too.
Back to dbd, I also wasn't around for Freddy's release, so I don't know what the actual nerf was, but I'm pretty sure it was just basic number tweaks to parts of his power.
And honestly, I just don't think reworks will work in dbd. Regardless of how many people say _____ killer sucks, there are always going to be people who enjoy playing them, and will be mad that their mains power is getting completely scrapped. And in case of Freddy, the rework backfired insanely hard and he became one of the most hated killers in the game, as well as pissing of the Old Freddy mains. I really just wish they would have just given him some small buffs and QoL changes instead of flying off the handle and erasing his power entirely.
I actually enjoyed the remake too but your suggestions would have made it much better! Practical effects will always be better than heavy CGI.

^This. Freddy didn't need a nerf to begin with. Also, the killers that did get buffed didn't get what they needed. The only thing that was REALLY good for killer was the OoO nerf.
The only things I wanted to happen to Freddy is more one more active clock on the map so I wouldn't have to run across the world to wake up and for survivors to not automatically fall asleep until after they get hit once.

Playing spirit does not make the player who decides to play her bad or lazy.
Never said it does, I just said that the bad and lazy Freddy players will switch to Spirit. In turn, we will get more bad and lazy Spirits.
Lots of players who played Freddy only played him for the ease of use of his abilities. Now that he got nerfed, players who look for easy killers will switch to the next easy to use killer, which is Spirit.
-
I believe it will be meta. It'll be great to use against Spirit and with the Freddy nerf, lots of bad, lazy killers, will switch to Spirit.

Here is a definition of Exploit from Merriam Webster:
"to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage"
CAMPING IS AN EXPLOIT OF THE GAME'S DESIGN.
Got that now?
Geez now I must pull out the definition of words for yah? Just because you don't understand?
I specifically mentioned that Bubba was never intended to be a camping meme during his development.
Players, however started to exploit his capabilities and thus the whole camping Bubba started.
Teabagging is the same.
It's supposed to be used as a crouch mechanic and yet people started to use it as a toxic mean.
That's an exploit of the developer's game design.
Devs did state that camping and tunneling are viable, but they did say that it's not an optimal game decision. Meaning they have negative viewpoints about them.
Sheesh.
But camping is really not unfair. It's not fun, true, but it is fair. For one kill, the killer throws the match as long as the survivors know what to do in a camping situation. Survivor is a team player role, the devs are the ones who set what is fair, not you. They believe fair and balanced is 2 kills 2 escapes. At most, a camping killer will get is 2 kills if they're against competent players.
Want camping to go away? Tell players to stop feeding it. I was just camped by a Hillbilly, literally a couple of minutes ago, and the Hillbilly won. You know why? All of my random teammates stopped working on gens and hovered around the basement. we had 2 gens complete and the gen I was chased off of was at 85%. If they worked on the gens they could have all escaped, especially since the killer was bad at loops.
Killers sacrifice pressure for one kill, I would say that is fine. Just like everyone believes killers aren't entitled to a 4K, survivors aren't entitled to a 4 man escape.

How so? Michael needs to stalk to get out of tier 1 where hes 105%. Definitely not a good idea to stay in. Tier 2 hes no longer undetectable but has a small tr so if spinechill didnt work on undetectable itd still work on tier 2. And tier 3 doesn't really matter he has a huge terror radius. So spine chill hard counters michael at his weakest point.
Michael is due for a rework, his power is very dated and takes too long even if the survivors don't have Spine Chill. That doesn't mean Spine Chill needs a nerf. Sure the perk alerts survivors that the killer is looking in their direction, but it doesn't reveal what direction the killer is coming from. By the time they realize where he is, he can already have stalked that survivor.

"Spinechill doesn't nerf stealth killers" *laughs in michael whos a 7'1 tall man who requires direct line of sight to stalk and "punishes survivors for not paying attention to their surroundings". Kinda hard to accomplish his goal when theres a perk that spoonfeeds the survivors.
Its no different with a power that easily lets you remove a health state.

So are you walking backwards all game or...?
Spine Chill isn't only active when working a Gen.
You don't have to moonwalk to gens, just don't directly face the gen you're going to and it won't light up. I run Spine Chill every game and it's the only counter I have for Spirit and Nurse. Stealth killers like to complain that it nerfs them, but it really doesn't I have no idea what direction they are coming from and sometimes walk right into them. Just because someone is playing a stealth killer doesn't mean they deserve an easy first hit or instant down.

No, even if you tunnel, camp, run ruin, undying, noed and insideous, it doesn't make you a bad person. Don't let others tell you how to play the game. As long as you follow the rules set by the devs you're a-okay in my book. I may not like the strategies you use, but I will not think of you negatively, though I will probably be a little frustrated.
The only things I can think of that killers can do that will make me think they're bad people are:
- Slugging and letting people bleed out just because they can. Slugging for the 4k is different, the slugging I am talking about is when hatch is closed and you can hook the survivor but choose to let them bleed out.
- Working with a survivor to kill their teammates. You should kill the back stabbing survivor, not the ones who are trying to have a fair game.
- Hitting a survivor on hook. It doesn't do much and actually wastes your time but it's obvious that a killer is toxic when they do that.
- Tunneling because you don't like the survivor that the player has chosen and not because you need to. I shouldn't have to suffer when I play Claudette just because the killer has bad past experiences against players who play as her.
- Body Blocking someone in a corner and forcing them to dc in order to move on. That's just outright vile and I hope killers who do this end up with poop as hard, large and rough as a pineapple.

Worse than the "2 teammates at 5 gens" is the "Someone DC'ed right off the bat, and my friend and I (along with a random) STILL managed to get nearly all or all of the gens done, but died in the end. I can't count the number of matches like that where my friend and I were saying after the game, "We all would have gotten out if our selfish 'teammate' hadn't quit right off of the bat", and some of those games were against a Spirit/Freddy/Nurse, etc. Games like that, the lack of the 4th survivor was always the difference between an easy win and a 4K for the killer. "Teammates" like those deserve every second of the DC ban they get.
My last game of last night was against a hook tunneling spirit. She never bothered to patrol gens and just rushed hooks as soon as someone was unhooked. A Jane decided she would rather die on hook instead of keep playing when we were at 4 gens. We managed to finish the gens but died due to NOED. If Jane stuck around, one of us could have found the totem and we could have escaped, but not, she chose to waste our time.
