Huge buff solo Q then buff killers.

Imo survivors should share aura reading perks, see eachothers perks and addons etc, have the glass bead basekit, have an in game voice/text chat and a map wide bond. Before you say its OP it is still less than what a SWF is capable of. After this just give survivors another gen or some ######### I havent figured out that part. You could just go killer by killer and buffing them all to blight level.

You do realise that if you buff solo queue to a standard near swf, all killers have to be buffed to hag/nurse standard rather than blight. Those two and spirit (who needs a change/nerf) are the only ones who can keep up to swf, so making solo like swf would mean killers have to be like nurse and hag.

Not just a minor buff, but a huge buff to all but nurse and spirit so the other killers can handle swf.

Blight can hold up against good SWFs very well

    Not consistently.

Blight has issues when it comes good swf. He's easily looped and juked unless the j-flick is used. And he projects his moves openly. Any good survivor should be able to loop him for a while, unless they are in a dead zone but then that's more on the survivor than the killer. Blight struggles in the chase, and he's pallet eater 101, but TL walls and jungle gyms kill him unlike spirit, nurse or hag.

Fair enough but J flick would put him on that level I would say

J flick is an exploit and will be patched and is bannable.

    That's the issue with this.

A hacking trapper could win 100% of games. Doesn't make trapper any better.

I mean J flicks arent exactly hacks lol and J flicks doesnt make blight uncounterable.

J flicks aren't bannable and have counterplay.

Blight without 45 degree turns is absolute trash, blight with up to 90 degree turns is high mid tier, and J flick current blight is top 5 worthy.

    Never mind. MB.

Its just a really ######### thing to do then.

Like using discord when the game isn't balanced around it ig.

They seem to be very picky on what exploits are bannable tbh so it's easy to get mixed up.

Blight is A tier without a doubt you just don't know how to play him. Hes not like freddy where theres 0 effort to play him sorry.

He's definitely C tier on Console.

  • @Brub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2097208#Comment_2097208

Well, i play on console and I agree but the majority of blights you see play on pc anyway.

    Which is a issue.

Killers shouldn't be vastly different on Console vs PC.

  • @Brub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2097212#Comment_2097212

Then all of the ranged killers would be removed and never added again. Same with blight. Its not like there absolutely useless on console. I think making killers fair for both platforms is just either impossible or, we will have 5637 of the same killer and the game will be boring.

I don't understand how you can say people shouldn't have an equal experience.

That's like saying because you play CoD on Playstation, your guns do extra damage.

  • @Brub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2097223#Comment_2097223

ok how would you make it more fair for console players, remove huntress?

    Uncap Console sensitivity.

    Fix Console frame drops.

Make good on the promise to bring Console (and lower end PC's) to 60 FPS.

    Fix stuttering.

Fix the game freezing upon a new status effect appearing.

    Fix the random freezing.

That's just things off the top of my head.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2097250#Comment_2097250

all of the things you said are impossible as you cant change the hardware in your ps4 so it will simply run 30 fps in every game and that's not anything to do with dbd or BHVR. and for sensitivity, they've made it higher in the past and it just doesn't do much. The reason blight and huntress are better on pc is that its just easier to move a mouse than a joy stick.

The sensitivity is capped on Consoles for some reason, and it's FAR lower than any other game I play.

Black Ops Cold War, Battlefield V, Battlefront II, Overwatch and Siege all run MUCH better than DBD despite looking LIGHTYEARS better. There is NO reason that DBD can't run at a stable 30 FPS on Consoles.

I run DBD on my Xbox One X and it runs the exact same as it did on my 2013 Xbox One despite the One X being exponentially more powerful. That's not a hardware issue, that's an optimization issue.

The Devs promised in March of 2019 that they would get 60 FPS to PS4, Xbox One and low-end PC's. I am not going to let this go until they address this issue.

  • @Brub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2097268#Comment_2097268

Well, someone is wrong here ( either you or the devs ) because the ps4 cant run a game at 60 fps, idk what's so hard to understand.

I did not say I wanted it to run at 60 FPS. I said I wanted it to be a stable 30. The Devs said they wanted it to be 60 FPS.

Over the past six months, we have allocated strike teams with the mission of improving the overall health of the game. As announced last December, we have developers working on a new matchmaking algorithm which we are actively testing and are almost ready to deploy. We are also targeting to migrate the game to dedicated servers by the end of summer 2019.

This blog post is meant to update you on the efforts put on optimization, which aim to enhance the overall game’s performance.

When we first released Dead by Daylight back in 2016, we targeted 30 FPS on our minimum spec. Up until recently, we optimized the game in bursts; for the console launch and before releasing a new Killer. We are now ready to set a new performance target: Dead by daylight will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and minimum spec PCs.

Reaching 60 FPS on Dead by Daylight is not an easy task. It is a multifaceted iterative process that started six months ago and will be ongoing for months. Our strike team of programmers dedicated to optimizing the game has their hands deep into the game code. To summarize, optimization improves the frame rate by using less CPU and GPU cycles to update and render the world faster without any apparent loss of quality.

See below for a high-level view of our optimization roadmap.

STEP 1: UPDATE TO UNREAL ENGINE 4.20

Target: Chapter 10 and incremental changes with every engine update (update to 4.21 is planned for chapter 11)

The engine update was a necessity to move forward with the optimization process.

All the Unreal engine features below gives us additional tools and means to enhance the performance of the game: the new Apex integration (dynamic mesh simulation), RHI/Render thread split, Epic’s mesh reduction tool & improved animation thread tooling are just a few examples.

STEP 2: CPU, GPU AND CONTEXTUAL OPTIMIZATIONS

    Target: Chapter 11 and ongoing

This is the core of the work to improve the performance and the game’s frame rate.
There are many opportunities for optimization, but here are the three main pillars overarching our efforts:

CPU optimizations: improving the game’s baseline systems

This is where the game world is simulated (interactions, character navigation, perks and powers). We will be converting our slowest gameplay blueprints to C++ which should, in specific cases, run ten to two hundred times faster. We are also moving from a tick-based system to an event-based-system. A tick-based system is much more demanding, as it constantly pokes the CPU to know when to trigger an action, while an event-based system can enable an event only when necessary and therefore reduce the stress on the CPU.

    GPU Optimizations: Overall Graphic Optimizations

The GPU is where the game world is rendered into an image which is then drawn on the screen. The optimization actions listed below mainly affect the game’s visual representation. The objective is to render the world faster without sacrificing quality. We will be updating our anti-aliasing system to TXAA and moving the SSAO to a compute shader, simplify our shadow pass, optimize character outlines, improve LODs, slim render passes, bake more lights, use imposter rendering for specific objects (trees, grass) and more.

Contextual Optimizations: Performance Spikes for Specific Actions

We are working on optimizations that pay at any given time when you play (as mentioned above under GPU/CPU) but we also know there are specific actions and/or Killers that will need extra optimization. These are problematic cases where we see major hitches in performance. Here are a few examples: multiple characters moving in close quarters, specific Killer slow down, perks combination, etc.

STEP 3: UPDATING OUR GUIDELINES AND PROCESSES

    Target: Chapter 12 and ongoing

While we optimize the existing gameplay and graphic systems, we develop better tools and methods to implement new features. When we have a new process figured out, it is documented and shared with our development team who can then apply these learnings for the creation of new content.

Our objective is to offer a better performance on all platforms, making the game look smoother and the controls more reactive. Still, doing such majors changes all at once (game engine update and rewriting game code) is bound to briefly disrupt things and require some adaptation time. We hope you understand that this is a transition period and an investment to improve the game.

Don’t hesitate to share your feedback on our forums or social media if you encounter an issue. Our objective is to keep you updated on our progress in the coming months. The upcoming Dead by Daylight anniversary will be a great timing to give you additional visibility on our progress.

    See you in the fog,
    The Dead by Daylight team

Just buy a ps5 if you want 60 fps that bad because I can guarantee the devs aren't going to put ps4`s at 60 fps especially with the ps5 out

They made a promise, and this was a HUGE deal at the time.

PS4 and Xbox One likely make up the majority of the playerbase.

Are you telling me that BHVR is going to tell people to buy a machine that costs at LEAST 500 USD (while we are living in a pandemic where people are struggling to pay rent, let alone buy a new Console) in order to have a half decent experience whilst playing a game that's 5 years old?

  • I’m all for buffing solos to SWF level.

However, they need to buff all killers in the process, and you know how much work that needs, and you know how lazy these devs are..

So I wouldn’t put my hope in this. SWF will always dominate, and solos and killers will suffer. That’s why I don’t play anymore.

  • No buffs or nerfs are needed. How about the devs implementing a system that automatically matches 3-4 man groups with top tier killers only. I honestly don't think 2 man groups are a problem but, tbh, 3-4 man groups should never play against any killer lower than a rank 5. These swf groups only discourage people from playing which will kill the community of the game. Add in the fact that most of these swf (not all) are toxic players that troll and prey on newer and lower rank/casual killers...just my 2 cents

great make queue times even worse on both sides

  • Or waste low tier/casual killers time by being curb stomped by sweaty seal team six. Also, like I said and you have seemed to ignore, discouraging people from playing. Which, in turn, would make queue times extremely long...
