Based on what statistics are survivor the "power role" in this game? Which factually evidence do you have to back up your argument? I'm going by statistics they released that show the game is killer sided. I don't know how you can look at a 68 percent kill rate at red ranks and say "the game is survivor sided". That's not based in reality.

Their statistics reveal that Nurse is in dire need of buffs. Does she need to be buffed? Answer honestly.

They only reason killers have a high kill rate is due to the fact that most survivors, including myself, are terrible at the game. Players being bad at the game is no reason to dumb it down. The developers have even stated not to try to make too much out of the statistics that they released.

You're just bad at the game. Thank God you're not a developer, otherwise the game would be dead.

Yui beat up a stalker with a knife that evaded her home. I think if Yui and Claudette fought, Yui easily wins.

Claudette will just teleport to Yui's shadow and stab her before she can realize what happened. Yui stands no chance!

  • You must be really bad at survivor since you think they're weak. Survivors that know what they're doing and how to properly work together are the power role in this game. Survivor perks are more powerful than most killer perks, and even the strongest killer perks can be disabled by just cleansing totems.

You complain about killers crying about DS, what about all the survivors crying about Spirit, Nurse, Freddy, BBQ, NOED, Tunneling and Camping. Fact of the matter is that both sides equally complain about things. It's not just isolated to one side, and you believing it to be one sided shows you don't play killer and have no idea how it is more difficult than playing survivor.

Everything that happened to survivor needed to happen. If it didn't the game would have died several years ago from the lack of killers. Survivor game play hasn't changed much. Maps are still designed to give the survivors every advantage in a chase. 3 gens can pop before the killer gets one hook. You still have perks to help speed up gen repairs along with tool boxes, which are still very useful if you're honest.

Also, killers had their fair share of nerfs. Ruin, Pop, Undying, Hillybilly, Nurse, Spirit (who will probably get another nerf with all the complaints), Freddy who is on the chopping block, and plenty more.

The game in the current state is the most balanced it's ever been.

Isn't that why there's so many spoopy Myers videos? Cause he can catch you off guard more easily than most others.

Oh, I'm not complaining! It literally made my heart skip a beat and and my butt cheeks clench together hard enough to turn coal into diamond. It's the one aspect I miss from being new to the game, actually getting scared. I just wish they'd move away from chases a bit to more jump scares (I know I'm in the minority, but its what I want). Its what got me sucked into this game.

Go watch the Cursed Legacy DLC trailer and watch Yui on that bike. She’s such a badass and no one can outrace her. Yui’s the best and it’s just facts.

Claudette can travel from shadow from shadow. She can beat Yui at any race.

  • Thank you very much for the responses! I didn't know that. Next time, I'll look at my feet and over my shoulder when I hear him teleport me. I've been playing over a year and this is the first time a demogorgon has ever done it.

  • @GannTM said:

Yui is objectively the best survivor

Incorrect. Claudette is the Supreme Survivor. None can match her majesty. Not even the entity can control her. She moves between the worlds harnessing the power of shadows and only enters the entity's realm when she seeks to torture the poor killers.

It's not the fact that he was hiding, it was the fact that he refused to hide with his body pressed up against mine.

A small number of the community wants them nerfed, most of the community has fun using them. So not really an issue that needs urgent attention.

If that were true, the devs wouldn't have stated that they're working on it. Only people who want it to remain unchanged are people who want easy wins.

  • He needs an actual moonwalk animation, crotch grab included, to be more fun. He's not Top Tier, but he is well rounded, just need them to recode his power to be more consistent. Sometimes I could be looking straight at him and still not have him de-shroud. Other times, I could be looking at the moon and accidentally alert him to my location.

In the right hands, he can be a force to be reckoned with.

  • I don't think he's a problem. He's just boring since it's a constant mend simulator.

Its just miserable win playing solo and my team doesn't know what discordance is, nor do they know that it is generally better to split up and work on multiple gens.

I hate legion! he is the most miserable killer and only tryhard turds play him!

Note* I don't believe this but I want to see what the nice insult is.

  • Other than forever Freddy, I will say that him running tinkerer with ruin makes the match unbearable. If you don't care about winning and just want to make the survivors suffer, run ruin, undying and tinkerer and just keep teleporting to gens and never commit to any chase. Also keep an eye on your totems.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

Yaaaa, the Survivors shouldn't feel like they need to tone down their playstyle because the Killer is bad.

IN FACT, it's better if they don't. If his win rate is horrifically low, he stands a better chance of getting a buff.

So to all you Survivors out there, go ape on Trickster. Make every Trickster player uninstall. Do whatever it takes to send the message "This Killer desperately needs to be buffed."

    Thanks for making me chuckle.

  • He should be able to force survivors to t-bag at will.

  • Both sides are playing sweaty. It's been non stop sweaty killer after sweaty killer for the last few days while playing solo. They can obviously tell that we're a bunch of potatoes after they hooked each of us once at 4 gens and yet decide they only want the match to last for 4 minutes.

  • I never used it so it doesn't affect me. I just find it funny how survivors would attack killers complaints (especially about the ruin nerf) and here they are, all complaining, without taking their own advice to git gud and apply pressure.

I know right. Apparently playing as a claudette is a crime against humanity.

I had to stop being a claudette main because of it. The stigma behind her is way to much and I can't be bothered with it.

I refuse to stop playing her. If I get tunneled and have a chance to escape, I will make sure the killer never finds me for the rest of the match. Just out of spite, I will become one with the shadows. I don't care how long the game takes, I wont stop doing objectives, but I will disappear the second Spine Chill even flickers. I'll look for every totem and search every chest just to add more time to the match.

  • Sorry, I'm having a really bad day and I'm taking it out on people I shouldn't. I didn't really mean what I said, forgive me?

Dont you think it's a bit weird that it takes SO long for them do something about them to?

Here's what the key should be able to do : One ONE breakable wall (juste replace thos walls by doors) or open the trap AFTER it was kicked by the killer, and have it only let the user of the key get out.

It's REALLY not rocket science, at the VERY LEAST they should make them unusable and remove them from bloodwebs until they FINALLY know what to do with them.

It's not weird, it's business. They don't want to piss off their whiny customer base and lose all of the cosmetic income. People on here will say that keys aren't a problem and that not many people use them and say the same about swf, but the truth is there are more swf teams than the devs will let on and keys are more prevalent than anyone wants to admit. Once the mori nerf was implemented, I saw one or two keys in every match. If you play at night, especially on weekends, you will see swf after swf. They know it is unfair for killers but they wont do anything about it because they want that income.

And as you said, it would have been more fair to nerf or remove both, keys and moris, at the same time. But doing so would still piss off a lot of money spenders.

  • @_HN_ said:

Yaknow what's worst that a survivor bringing a key in the lobby?

A survivor finding a key ingame thus taking your totally by surprise.

Can someone explain to me again why keys are still a thing after mories to nuked from orbit?

How is that item, the single most unfun and unfair item in the game still a thing?

Devs said keys are on the chopping block, lets wait to complain about them after they reveal the change. I do think they're taking their sweet time with it though. I hope they change it to where it only works for one survivor at the very least.

  • Yes, that gens go to fast and that the devs should implement another objective for survivors so killers don't feel the need to tunnel, slug, camp or have to run slowdown perks.

So i randomly found a key every single time I opened a chest without having Plunderer? You have to admit that’s odd.

I mean, if it's only happening recently, it isn't much of an indication of a problem. If it happens for more than lets say, three days, on a very consistent level, then we can say there is a problem.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying wait and see.

    You know, it's funny.

I loved Blight from the onset, but everyone and their mother said he was garbage.

Day 1 release, he was considered "okay".

A couple months later, everyone finally started to catch onto what I was saying from day 1 of his gameplay being available to test.

Now, he's considered OP, and needs a nerf by the Survivor hivemind.

What a journey my boy has been on.

To be fair, the hivemind wants to nerf every killer. I'm guilty of it too, but I keep quiet because I realize I am just bad at the game.

  • I run Plunderers every game and I haven't noticed this. I've been out of work for the last week and been playing a lot and it seems the same as it always been. It's probably just rng being rng.

  • It's not needed and given their track record, the devs will never be able to balance the game around it. I'd rather the devs go back to the drawing board and work on improving the core game, but that would probably mean they would have to rewrite the games code since it's so bad.

  • Its worse for me since I get scared easily. I am also a stealth player and when I go against stealth killers, I usually end up sneaking right into their knife, scaring myself in the process.

I have scared a stealth killer or two by sneaking up to them, right behind their back, and waiting for them to turn around only to see my face in theirs. Their startled reaction is funny.

  • Just had a tunneling Meyers 2 matches ago. Scared the crap out of me twice, which is a nice change from typical killers.

  • I know its not going to happen, but I'd love a Trapper buff that lets him start with all (10) of his traps and faster setting speed with an increase to 2 base trap carry slots once all traps have been set. If they do this, I'll start playing killer again.

Freddy rework. His power level isn't too strong, it's just too easy to play him and I just hope the devs make it more difficult to play him without making it painful like the Nurse is. I hate facing him more than any other killer.

  • RNG. It's the same with survivors spawning right next to a lit totem or all on the same gen that is furthest from the killer.

  • You should have played the PTB or just used shards for the chapter. Maybe now you will learn not to waste your money on things you're unsure of.

Didn't you know Claudettes INVENTED the perk "Insidious" and killers watched her blending around and stole the idea from her? True story!

Just as long as they haven't progressed to our advanced level, teleporting from shadow to shadow, they will never truly master our craft.

As for everyone who hates Claudettes, y'all are just jealous of our beauty and superiority.

  • @mouse0270 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2064650#Comment_2064650

Yeah and the survivor isn't adding 20 seconds of progression to a gen by tapping it.

Also you can tap a gen while being chased fairly easily. Its not like it takes a lot of work. So yes you can be tunneled and tap a gen. They are not exclusive actions. Any survivor running past a regressing gen and not tapping it in a chase is kinda dumb.

The game is easy enough for survivors, there is no reason to make it even more brain dead

No its not. The game is brain dead for killer. I barely even try anymore unless its a killer I am bad with and get at least 2+ kills if not a 4k. The only time I don't seem to 4k is against a 4man SWF. Which is fine, I don't need to win every game and a team that works well together, I am not going to win a against. Anyone who thinks killer is harder probably also thinks 99% of their games are against swat SWF teams.

I'd actually be pro hook teleporting like cages.

If you're being chased you shouldn't be gen tapping. If you are, then you should be confident with your looping skills, not rely on DS to give you immunity for 60 seconds. Now you actually have to make a choice that involves risk. I'm not arguing that gen tapping needs to go, it doesn't, it's just DS shouldn't protect you if you should choose to take the risk and tap it.

And no, it isn't brain dead for killers (except maybe Freddy). Most killers rely on the survivors to make mistakes in order to down them. The role is inherently more difficult than survivors since it's one brain versus 4 brains. Against competent survivors, gens should be done in 4-5 minutes. The only reason any one would think killer is easy would because they keep getting put up against bad players, over and over. And lets be honest here, the majority of survivors are bad.

  • @mouse0270 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2063789#Comment_2063789

Everything about your response just tells me you are bad at killer.

Alright, so pop already did its thing once the killer kicked the gen... It added 20 seconds to the game. Someone tapping a gen doesn't stop the game from progressing, it stops the game from regressing. It basically halts all game progress.

I've always seen DS as an anti-tunnel perk, I've never had a problem with survivors halting the games progress by tapping regressing gens, because well, I am not bad at killer. My problem with DS was people who used it for immunity, tapping a gen doesn't provide immunity, all it does is put the game at a standstill. People who hoped off a gen and worked on it for 60 seconds because they knew I couldn't do anything. People tapping a gen didn't bother me.

I really don't play killer so yes, I'm bad at it. It doesn't matter, the killer still has to waste their time to kick the gen and sit through the animation. If you want to counter that, you should have to spend an equal amount of time in order to stop the regression. If the survivor feels it's safe enough to tap a gen, then they are not being tunneled.

The game is easy enough for survivors, there is no reason to make it even more brain dead.

The only problem with survivors is being paired with bad teammates and true tunneling from the start of the match. To fix those, the devs need to fix matchmaking and implement teleporting hooks (similar to how Pyramid Heads caging works) when there are 3 or more gens still needing to be repaired. Tunneling shouldn't be prevented when there is 2 or less gens due to the fact of how fast efficient survivors can pump out gens.

  • @mouse0270 said:

My idea for this is as follows.

Working on a gen regressing for less then 1 second will not deactivates DS. Working on any gen that isn't regress deactivates DS. I never had a problem with people stopping gen regression with DS. I had a problem with them working on it in my face because they had 60 of immunity.

This would let DS users stop regression but not allow them to work on a generator.

To be clear, 1 second is kinda long but I figured it was easier then saying tapping as tapping as no defined length of time.

Why should they be allowed to regress a gen? What if the killer uses Pop on it? They had to chase the survivor, down and then carry them to the hook and hook them in order to get it to activate. Why should survivors be able to willy nilly counter that by easily tapping it?

I used to play killer until I started maining survivor how about you play survivor a little more then you'll realise how entitled killer mains truly are and how they can he really toxic during and after matches

I main survivor, rarely ever touch killer. Last time I even attempted to touch killer was about two months ago. I play about 3 hours of survivor a day and I speak from experience, survivors are far more toxic and entitled. In the last year, I may have had one or two killers be toxic in endgame chat, but it was no where near the insults and death threats I got when I played as killer.

  • @DecisiveDwight said:

Do you actually read what people put mainly killers it's all toxic towards people that do use it and then they get toxic when they're called out on it

Have you not read all the nerf NOED threads where survivor after survivor calls killers who use it "trash"? Same thing with threads about Ruin and Undying. Same thing with threads about killers who tunnel and camp, and no, just because you don't like those strats doesn't mean you can insult people for using them. They're sanctioned by the devs just like swf on comms are.

You obviously don't play killer. I suggest you start playing it exclusively every weekend night and you will see who the true toxic players are. Even more so if you play on PC and can read end game chat.

  • I love all of your ideas and it would make an interesting and scary killer to face. As for their power, I'd like them to copy a spell from WoW that Warlocks had called "Fear". It would basically make their opponent lose control of themselves and run away. Obviously they'd have to tweak it to work in this game, but I think it could be very interesting.

As a killer, it would be funny seeing the survivor run away while screaming and unable to vault, drop pallets or work on gens. To make it fair, the killer shouldn't be able to attack those that are feared until it wears off or until they use it on someone else.
