I would love this, unfortunately, the bugs that would be involved with something like this would probably break out into reality and doom us all.

Starting a match as survivor and hearing the "Victor released" sound effect. It's a really cool sound effect but God I just want the match to be over the moment I hear it.
This, so much this.
Loading into a match and realizing Freddy is the killer packed out the wazoo with every slowdown he could equip is a close contender. I'd rather face a pro Nurse.
On the survivor side, wondering why we haven't progressed gens, only to get hooked and finally seeing that one of my teammates is hiding and the other is constantly going for flashlight saves, failing said flashlight saves, only to go down after 5 seconds, is a close contender.

So, uh, am I just imagining the existence of Blight and Pyramid Head and Freddy or can someone else back me up that these killers exist?
They do exist, but the person you're quoting does have a point. Killer variety in high ranks is very limited. All I see are Freddy, Nurse, Spirit and Blight over and over, with a sprinkling of Bubba and Clown and tunneling Huntresses. I don't want to constantly face the same killers over and over, it becomes boring. Just look at what happened to the Twins. I maybe see 1 out of 100 matches.
Don't take this as me saying I want another OP killer as strong as Nurse, I don't, I just wouldn't mind the devs making more viable killers that can make matches last longer than 5 minutes.
We need a cute donkey killer that kills survivors with its cuteness.

Bond is a personal use, the others don't see your aura.
I didn't realize that. Either way, it's a wasted perk in solo when most of your team refuses to heal.

classic claudete, hiding in a bush. but it's only way in solo queue.
Yea, I really can't loop well, I admit it, but I am not useless. I do objectives and will take aggro for someone if they're being tunneled or on death hook, only if they were a good teammate.

Hope! will let you open it 15% faster.
You mean Wake Up
Yes, sorry for the mistake and thanks for the correction!
-
You need to prioritize yourself when you play solo. Too many selfish or really bad players in solo queue, you have to always think about your survival first. I always run Plunderers and Self Care. Plunderers is great for the chance at getting a key and Self Care is great since 8 out of 10 times you can't rely on your teammates. Inner Strength is better than Self Care if you're good at finding totems.
I wouldn't recommend bringing a key because that'll be just the excuse the killer would use to justify their tunneling. Instead, I recommend you just stop bringing bond because all it will do is let bad teammates bring the killer to you.
Another thing you should do is hide near a gen at the start of the match. Then when the killer finishes their patrol of that gen, you work on it while he goes to look for others. Play as stealthily as the match would allow you. The moment the killer downs someone, get in a locker before he picks them up since most run BBQ. Once they're hooked, go back to the gen if the hooked person is on their first hook and they have hang time.
If you find yourself as the last one left in endgame, Wake Up! is a nifty perk to have. Hide by a gate, wait for the killer to come and see if you're there and then power it up to the point just before the first light comes on and go back to hiding. Wait for the killer to do another pass by and then proceed to open the door. Wake Up! will let you open it 15% faster.
I know stealth is frowned upon by most players, but when playing solo, it really is a must if you want to last long. It's also a great way to punish sweaty killers who want to tunnel and camp from the start. I always run Spine Chill and the moment it flickers, I'm off of the gen and into the shadows I go. It wastes a lot of time for the killer since many of them pretend to leave and always come back 5-6 seconds later, multiple times. Some even waste much more time looking for me in lockers and then behind rocks and trees, while I vanished in the opposite direction.

The problem with that is, scaring a new player away from a gen is much easier and the consequences for them much worse. Old Ruin taught them to hit Greats as best as they could. This new Ruin just feeds most killers free kills because they don't have to do much but chase someone off of a gen. You take away Ruin and I bet the kill rate drops dramatically at high rank.
I agree. I never had any complaints about old ruin. I loved the challenge of hunting for the totem and even if you miss a great skill check, you can still progress the gen by letting go and then resuming repairs.
The problem with this game is how the devs balance it. Everything is done with perks. They nerfed old ruin, realized the new ruin was too weak for most of the killer roster, gens went by too fast, and had to come up with a solution. Their solution was Undying. That was miserable because Freddy, Billy, Spirit and Oni just gained so much from it paired with the new Ruin, making solo hell. It was great on killers like Trapper, Hag, Wraith, Clown, Ghostface, Meyers and any other low mobility killer, but most killers look at them as nonviable since they all suffer against swf.
They need to start changing things in the core game and stop relying on fixing things with perks. They also need to make sure that it is harder for bad players to rank up. I doubt they will tho.
-
@AVoiceOfReason said:
I want old Ruin back. Didn't punish people who could hit great skill checks and if you could, it didn't affect you. Now you just have to scare someone off of a gen to get great regression for little effort. I just don't understand why they were that worried about new players.
New players are the life blood of the game. Long time players leave because the devs refuse to freshen up the game play and provide more varied content.

I started this game with Stranger Things so I am biased and will say that chapter was the best.
I also really liked Mr Cowboy's chapter and love his map.
Onii-Chans chapter was nice too, though I'm of the few that doesn't like Yui.
-
Don't worry, if they ever get him he will be over powered upon release in order to get lots of sales and nerfed 3-4 months later.
-
I don't have any rules for either side. Just don't get upset when I react in a way that you don't like if you play like a meanie. Tunnel and Camp me from the start? Better hope I don't get away because when I do, you will never see me again. I will waste so much of your time with stealth play, it will drive you crazy. I won't cease to work on objectives, but the second I sense your presence, I will become one with the shadows.
T-Bag and point after every pallet stun? Farm or sandbag your teammate? Welcome to tunnel town, where I have a camp fire and tent all set up in order to leisurely roast marshmallows while I watch you die.
Wanna spam vault/locker at the start of the match and play super sweaty rather than have a normal match? I'm going to go admire the pixels in a corner of the map. I'm not here to get bullied for your entertainment. Then again, I haven't touched killer in two months and I really don't miss the stress.
-
I started playing this game because I thought it was like a hide and seek game. Never realized looping was really a thing until months later. I'm not a pro by any means, but I still find stealth to be fun, especially against Spirit and Nurse.
These days I do semi stealth. I always run Spine Chill because you need it against the Queens, but it is also nice to out stealth sneaky killers (though I usually always stealth right into GhostFaces knife). Stealth at the beginning is good because once the killer passes you, you have some time to work on a gen. It is also good to stealth if they're using Corrupt Intervention so you can work on totems and search chests.
The problem with stealth is, if your team is bad, it isn't going to save the match, but if you want to be selfish, it can get you hatch.
-
YouTube, browse these forums, or watch an anime/show/movie. Sometimes I forget I was playing dbd and am already hooked when I tab back. I always feel sorry for my teammates who try to rescue me when that happens.

Hopefully obsession becomes base into the game now to make tunneling occur less then it will in the following days to come.
Killers who plan on tunneling from the start will continue to tunnel without caring if there is an obsession.

Stealth play is the best against her. Actually, stealth is really good against lots of killers, but really strong against Nurse and Spirit. It's just the majority of people are bad at actual stealth.
You need to always position yourself facing the direction the Spirit will come from, difficult to do on center gens, but not so difficult to do on corner gens. The second Spine Chill lights up, walk towards the direction the Spirit will come from. Most of them will usually phase to the gens in hopes of a free grab or hit. By the time they reach it, you should be safe behind an LOS blocker, making your way away from her. Don't go back to the gen if it isn't almost complete because a lot of them will pretend to go away only to come back to it multiple times withing a span of 15 seconds.

Yes there is. Freddy with every slow down perk and add-ons is more boring. At least I can alt+tab if I get slugged, with freddy, I have to at least try and suffer through the slog fest just because I'll feel sorry for my team if I don't.

Midwich= MidBi*ch or Poop. Depending on my mood, I hate it all the same. Artistically, it's great, but as a solo survivor, it is so painful, especially against Mr Doctor or Mistress Nurse.
-
When I get hooked and see all of my teammates doing nothing but hiding.
When I face Freddy and he has equipped every slowdown that the game provides.
When I get camped and my teammates are hovering around the hook, feeding into the killers obvious strategy.
When I face Legion and they have the annoying add-on that lets you hear the chase music even though you're not in a chase. It drives me crazy.
Midwich. I shed more than a tear. My tears flow out like a river.
-
The game allows for stealth game play. Use it. Not every killer is meant to be played against as every other killer. I suck against all killers and yet, I can survive long enough for my teammates to do at least one gen (except against Trapper or Billy, I'm a magnet to them for some reason). If they're giving you that much trouble, equip Spine Chill. I've caused many Spirits to waste so much time looking around rocks and trees for me. Its even more funny when they act like they have left to patrol and only come rushing back 6 seconds later, multiple times, hoping I'm working on the gen.

I love being stealthy and wish the devs would stop nerfing it. The reworked maps have less fog and more light making it much easier for the killer to spot you from the other side of the map. I'm not asking for the devs to make it where I can just stand there and never be seen, but I'd like more LOS blockers and some more fog in the game.
I used to be an ultra immersive bush but with advice from the forum goers, I have gotten better at looping, well as much as my messed up hands let me. I can even waste okay Nurse players time much more than I used to, but immersive game play is really nice when you're up against a Pro Nurse, Spirit or any turd that tunnels from the start. If the killer wants to play sweaty at 5 gens, I'll make them work for it by making sure they never find me.

They used to have something like that for the Licensed Killers, it was an iri offering that let you try out that killer with no perks or add-ons. They eventually discontinued those offerings, for reasons I don't know.
Most likely money or licensing issues.

I think the house of pain is the one story house with a gen in the basement. The Strode house is the two story house that has the killers basement.

As a survivor who knows how to avoid the Doctors powers, I can say that Iron Maiden is a pain in the butt when facing Mr Doctor. It's not the strongest perk in the game, but it does make you go "oh sh*t" when you exit a locker. And now that the exposed status you get from it has been buffed to 30 seconds, its a decent perk.
I think his scariest cosmetic is his Foul Bile one.
-
As much as I think there is a survivor bias when it comes to devs (Original Ruin Nerf, Pop Nerf, Breakable Walls that shouldn't exist, Nerfing Mori's before Keys and not at the same time), Undying was a big problem for solo players against high mobility killers like Spirit, Billy, Freddy, Blight and Onii-Chan. It needed to change, it just made the games more miserable than ever and would have resulted in people just leaving the game after getting frustrated.
What we have now is better overall and don't forget that DS is going to be nerfed in the next patch so survivors can't abuse it any more and OoO is getting looked at to be more fair for killers. The problem with the devs, I think anyways, is that they're just soooooooooo slow to do anything to the killer side. Poor Trapper has been waiting forever to get 3 bags as base-kit and it doesn't seem like its going to happen any time soon.

There is potential here, but BHVR just is not capable of grasping it and I am tired of how we have to scream, in droves of thousands, to get them to budge even a millimeter.
Switch to survivor like I did and you'll have a better time.
-
Keep them as is but make them base kit for killers.
Unless keys don't really get nerfed, then they should be reverted since it wouldn't be fair for one side to have the ability to end a match prematurely while the other side doesn't.
-
I don't care. The viewers will be bored watching me admire nature.
-
If you keep having issues with the connection and think it is the game you should ask for help in the Technical Issues section and try to get them resolved rather than coming here to complain about it, demanding the Dev's to cater to you. Majority of players want the DC penalty, players have been asking for it for a long time. Dev's are not going to remove it. If it repeatedly happens to you then you shouldn't be playing the game knowing that it might boot you and ruin the match for 4 other people.
I have 2800 hours in this game and it may have only booted me twice. My computer is mid-range with a mediocre gpu. The people who are getting booted are in the loud minority. The Dev's shouldn't remove a feature that benefits the majority.

We can go for a while like this but you know yourself it's not a fun mechanics. And dev don't seems to like unfun mechanics as well. It's clear from how they changed pyramid head mechanics once they discovered how it was used. Guess what your same argument applied there too. Body block take a hit. It was possible but still it wasn't fun so they nerfed it so Pyramid head could no longer know where his cage was.
Hag is already a top tier killer it wouldn't kill her. It would only stop the cheap hag players from making this game boring.
Not everything is about survivor fun. Devs have to think about killer fun. If they neuter every killer just to appease all the bad survivors, the game will die. Both sides have things that are un-fun. Many killers don't like being looped around the same rock 3 times, get pallet stunned, and then get led to another loop 10 meters away to rinse and repeat. Yet it remains in the game because survivors have fun doing it, even though it is boring for most killers. It's why you see Nurse, Spirit, Pyramid Head and Freddy so much, killer players don't want to be looped over and over. Heck, Trapper is one of the most popular killers, despite being weak, just because his ability to break loops is fun.
Not every hag or killer camps, but hag trapping the basement alleviates some pressure since it forces the survivor to slow down. Survivors should be punished for misplays just as killers are. If you or a teammate get downed near the basement, the punishment should be high since everyone should be aware of where it is and avoid it at all costs.
It seems like a lot of survivors don't want anything in this game to challenge them, thus calling anything difficult "boring".
-
9 out of 10 PC players come back and try to rescue me during endgame, unless it's obvious they can't, such as if its Bubba or NOED is in a good spot.
9 out of 10 Console players abandon me on hook or just straight up DC just because the match doesn't go their way.
This is all the reason I need to prefer PC players.
