Thank you for the kind words....Just curious someone mentioned to me matchmaking used to be match the highest survivor with the same killer rank correct? Why was that changed
Not enough high rank killers to match against high rank survivors. I figure once killers repeatedly face those survivors over and over they either leave the game, switch to survivor or derank to get out of red ranks.

Thank you for the response I love this game...nobody want to be bullied.
I know this isn't the first of these types of posts but feel it needs to be said
No Problem! This is what the devs provide the forums for - Feedback. If you have an issue or suggestion or even praise, this is the place to do it. As long as you're respectful, no one has a right to tell you not to post. And I agree, the devs need to be constantly reminded that many players are unhappy with the crappy matchmaking that they provide.

And yet I will say I try and I don't get better because I get stomped by higher ranks than me I am learning but not enough to take out a sweaty team of 4 red ranks so wasting time so they are happy clicking and tbagging body blocking using all meta perks on top of verbal abuse in the end game...y lower myself to thier standard let them waste their time they don't deserve the satisfaction.
You don't have to explain yourself. You have every right to not play against swf who out rank and out skill you. The onus is on the devs to provide a proper match for players. You payed money for this game, you're entitled to be fairly matched with opponents with similar skill.

I'll repeat what I said....
You'll never get better unless you play against people better than you. So either man up or find another game. ruining the game for 4 others because you're having a hissy fit is what weaklings do.
Not everyone wants to get better. Some people want to play a casual match. Most people play games for fun, not to sweat their butt off against people who are much better than them. If you were to play basket ball and were matched against the NBAs top players over and over and over, you'd get tired and frustrated with it pretty quickly.
He isn't ruining the game for anyone, the swf sweat squads are ruining his game since they play with outside communication which this game isn't designed around. If anyone is ruining anyones game, it is Behavior for allowing red rank 3k +hour swf players to be matched against casual, less skilled killers.
-
No! You're not the boss of me! I'll be afraid of myself as much as I want!

I got so disappointed when I saw the lobby and realized we weren't getting a map similar in theme. Lets hope one day in the future they'll give us one.

(Also P.S. devs please remove keys and bring back 1 hook moris. Game is unplayable as killer right now.)
Never said all survivors are like this, but a lot are. But thanks for being dishonest and putting words into what I actually wrote.
I have no desire for old moris to return, I am happy I don't have to see any more hook camping Ghostfaces tunnel me into the ground in order to mori me off the bat. Also, If you think keys are fine as they are, then you are part of the problem.

The devs don't care. You're literally just bait to Behaviour Interactive so that those kind of toxic players keep playing the game and keep buying cosmetics. You're there only so that the toxic swf can have fun.
That's why I'm taking it upon myself to deal out some vigilante justice. I've been facecamping these kind of groups all day, they can give it out but can't take it. So I'm just a thorn in Behaviour's business plan at this point.
It's sad to see you guys so defeatist. Maybe next time I get a real toxic OoO clicky clicky swf I'll record it so everyone can enjoy watching them struggle against a lean, mean, chainsaw revving camping machine
Perhaps it is sad, but I don't pretend to be a good killer. I only played it because I thought it was fun when I was fairly matched. I don't play video games to sweat my butt off, I play for fun. I have no interest in learning all the ins, outs and intricate details of the game. I also don't have Bubba and refuse to spend any more money on this game. If I did have him, I would do what you suggest, but I don't and never will unless he becomes purchasable with shards. For now, on the rare occasion that I choose to play Killer, if I am faced with a toxic team, I will enjoy going afk while watching anime or videos, knowing that the group had to wait 10+ minutes to get the match, a minute or more for loading the match and at least another 5-6 minutes of watching me look at a corner, knowing they just wasted their time and have to do it all again. It's even more enjoyable when they spend 10 minutes trying to antagonize me in order to get me to chase them.
I do get revenge on toxic survivors when I play solo survivor though. If I witness anyone t-bagging and rushing to annoy the killer, I won't rescue them. I am a big fan of good sportsmanship and hate it when others have no respect for their opponents or their teammates. So if a killer hooks them, especially after the gens are done, buh bye- I am out. If Plunderers gives me a key and I find hatch, fare the well toxic teammates!

"Can we suggest some actually balanced changes instead of making survivors more helpless?"
Since when survivors are helpless? From my knowledge the game has been heavily skewed towards survivors since the very beginning, together with myriads of second chance perks.
Survivors who think they are helpless and think the game caters to players are like the survivors in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HkwTfutxYs&t=1284sA lot of them are like the Claudette featured in the beginning of the video. Then they come here to cry about how hard the game is when in reality they're just bad.

If it is obvious that they are trying to bully, the best thing is to go into the basement and face a corner and tab out. They don't want to play with good sportsmanship, return the favor and waste their time.
-
Nah, BBQ is fine.
- It encourages the killer to leave the hook in order to go after new prey.
- It's counters are easy, the moment the killer downs someone, head for the nearest locker. If you suspect that the killer has BBQ, which is easy to tell, you should be aware of where all the lockers are.
- Survivors have aura blocking perks and calm spirit that would counter Iron Maiden as well as other killer abilities/perks that are common, such as Infectious Fright and the Doctors shocks.
- There is plenty of time to run towards the killer if you head to them the moment they down the survivor.
- Lots of people on the forums share the sentiment that the meat of this game is in the chase between the killer and survivor. If that is the case, most people shouldn't have a problem with having their aura revealed, especially if they're at a distance to where they could make it to a loop before the killer reaches them.
- The survivor role is a team role, therefore, ones mistake will usually affect the rest of the teams, as it should. If one doesn't like this concept, they should play killer.
I will say that it is a bit more oppressive against high mobility killers such as Billy and Spirit, but that is a problem with their design and not the perk.
-
@NoxVeno said:
Your barking up the wrong tree. Don't blame the killer, pressure the developers to put in a SWF button. I don't want to play with them as a killer or be hung out to dry with them as a survivor.
They don't need to put in a SWF button, they need to balance the game around swfs communication and coordination and stop balancing the game around the lowest common denominator. Until they do, no one has any right to ask killers to willingly play against them if they don't want to.
-
@Sypdrae said:
I will always be in awe of the dishonesty and bogus apologies of the SWF survivors of this forum. They openly cheat, but are amazed that no killer wants to play with them. Worse, they dare to be condescending by ordering the killer to improve instead of complaining while they are playing a simplified version of the game.
Would not change a thing.
What bothers me is that many of them are not okay with getting a penalty for being in a coordinated group on comms (which the game isn't designed around), but are okay with the killer playing at a disadvantage. Then you have the solo players who are demanding to be buffed to swf levels, only to let killers suffer even longer by waiting for the devs to get around to buffing them.
Many like to claim they just want to play with their friends, which is fine, but the majority of them abuse it by using comms and just tell the killer to git gud while refusing to do so themselves.

I'm an immersive urban evading Claudette and I love facing the Doctor. It's so satisfying when I do gens, totems, rescue and heal and not get caught by him. I also love popping out of nowhere in order to take aggro off of someone on death hook. Its like "Surprise Mother**" here I am!

This just reinforces my belief that the majority of players in this game are 12-15 year old spoiled brats or at least have their mentality.

The original post highlighted the unjust ban to further open up about a bigger topic. It is on you and others to decide to care for that part of the conversation instead being only fixated on my ban specifically. And most people are to lazy to read, so they choose the latter.
The ban is justified because you were punished for repeatedly dcing. The devs give you leeway with the first few times of dcing by making the ban short just in case you lost connection. You took advantage of the short ban times by quitting when you shouldn't have, therefore you should still be punished when the game genuinely boots you, since you prioritized your fun above others multiple times in a row.
-
I quit playing killer because of toxic SWFs. Not all of them are, but there sure are a lot of them, more than the survivor mains of the forums would like us to believe. So now I just play survivor. It's so much less stressful and I have better odds at winning.

Dishonest from the start? Tell me what I was dishonest about? I edit the thread to make the tread more understandable, and highlighted repeated answers and responses so that I wouldn't have to keep repeating them.
Your original post was trying to allude to the fact that the game kicked you out and banned you unfairly, when your actual grievance with the game is it doesn't allow you to DC whenever you want. It didn't have an mention of tunneling or camping.
-
I don't tunnel gens. I like to explore the world and take in all the nature that there is on the map. I like to cautiously approach the bushes and admire their leaves, while caressing them in my hands. I like to dismantle the bones and skulls littered across the map, by inconsiderate killers who care not for the environment. I like to play peekaboo with a killer from behind a window and I like to rub my hands on Davids body every chance I get.

If youre waiting for 10+ minutes for a lobby, that's another problem in its self. And most times, as devs said in a late stream, there are not enough players for survivor or killer during certain times. And so I can argue that you are playing at inappropriate(or late hour) times. That is the players fault for choosing that time to play.
That has nothing to do with you DC'ing from the match. The only thing this thread is about is you not wanting to deal with stuff you don't like. You were just dishonest about it from the start, which is why you went back and edited the OP.
The Devs make the rules and decided when players are allowed to play. They have decided to let people play anytime they want as long as they're willing to wait in a queue for a match. They have also decided to prevent selfish players from playing their game and ruining the experience for other players.
If you don't like the above, feel free find a game that better suits your needs, otherwise, continue to DC so the game could ban you longer and players won't have to deal with your selfishness.

How is a match ending immediately after a DC wasting a player's time? It's not like players spend hours finding a match either.
Players, especially survivors, can wait anywhere from 10-20 minutes just to get into a match. You dcing within 30 seconds of the match or at any other time during the match, is ruining the match for them, therefore, wasting their time. It doesn't matter if they waiting 1 minute or 5 minutes, your selfishness ruins the experience for them.
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1981555#Comment_1981555
Correct, its not such a big deal if the problem only occurs once a year, right? What I'm saying is, why cant there be a 30 second grace period when match starts where if a player DC's, it doesn't count as penalty and match will automatically end with no punishment to other players? I know there are other things to consider, but its a start to alternative solutions.
Because you dcing at the start of the match because you don't like the killer, map or got downed first is wasting everyone else's time. You are not entitled to waste their time just because you don't like something that occurred during a match. Doesn't matter if it is tunneling, camping, slugging or just a bad map, if you can't handle these things, then this game isn't for you.
DC penalty is doing a fine job by preventing people like you from ruining other peoples games. I hope they make it harsher.

You're misinformed. I didn't say it happens a lot with me. Nor did I say all bans before were also the result of a match crash or an internet outage. It happened once.
*the original thread provides more info for you
Then there is no problem if it doesn't happen often with you. It seems like you just want the DC penalty gone so you can dc to your hearts content whenever a match doesn't play out the way you want it to.
-

But you understand, stuff like this happens so frequently, maybe not all at once, but in certain intervals. Im not willing and wanting to report stuff like this every single time.
That is your experience. I've been playing dbd since 2019 and I have never been booted from a match. If it happens to you as often as you claim, perhaps it's your PC or corrupt game files or even your OS.
If you constantly have issues with connections and yet continue to play, then you deserve the ban because you knowingly risk ruining the game for other people. As far as not being forced to playing in bad matches, too bad, that's the game. If you can't handle the good along with the bad, you should go play a different game.
-

His weakness is that he is still a human. Even if he was immortal he can be stopped. As a kid, I used to wonder how one would stop him and Jason. My plan was simple. Encase them in the center of a ball of steel by dipping them into it while it is molten. They can't harm anyone if they can't move. To be even more secure, once it's cooled down, we can add another layer of steel that is 3 feet thick.

I don't care that many don't consider him OP, I for one, cannot wait for the nerf bat to bash him upside his noggin. It really doesn't matter what anyone buys. The devs tend to nerf the most random perks and make changes nobody even asked for.
It's almost impossible to know what the devs will nerf. They nerf things just for the heck of it.
It actually does matter. @OniWantsYourMacaroni posted a list in this thread of what the devs have nerfed on the survivor side and those nerfs are the result of killers quitting the game or switching to survivor. If they didn't nerf those things, survivor queue times out be 30 minutes and the game would have died.
-
I'm not a killer main, but if you're really struggling, pick Hag. Use Corrupt Intervention and set your traps around the three gens that are closest together. Make Your Choice is really good on her and Ruin is hit or miss depending on where the totem spawns. Third Seal is the same as Ruin but it can make things miserable for survivors if it is in a good spot.
I recommend watching Michi on YouTube so you can learn how to play her best.
My most fun killer, irregardless of winning or losing is Trapper. I just can't play him because swf death squads just make it miserable with how fast they pump out gens with 4 tool boxes and 4 brand new parts. He needs a buff that gives him a boost in the beginning of the match and Corrupt Intervention isn't enough unless you like sweating your butt off.
-
May you find more fun in what ever game you pursue.

I'm gonna be honest, I am 100% sure it'll be original. As I already said, Mightee One doesn't exist. In real life, or any kind of media. They've never changed their twitter before for licensed killers either, and it's normally pretty damn obvious when it is. In the past few licensed chapter's we have known pretty early on. And there is no way BHVR would be allowed to use another companies name and logo legally.
Netflix mentioned working with BHVR in a Twitter post, thus we got Demo.
The guy who owns the Ghostface mask dropped some pretty "subtle" hints about Ghostie coming to DbD, and he was just straight up leaked.
The 4th Anniversary Logo was incredibly obvious.
To be fair though, I wasn't around when Pig and all the others licensed came out, so I can't say for them.
Why are people so against original killers? They're almost always better, but that's just my opinion.
I don't care if it is original or licensed, as long as they don't screw it up like they did the last chapter, I'll be fine with what they give us.
-
I have a love hate relationship with it. I hate it because I am bad and can never get away, but I like it because it causes a sense of real urgency, something lots of killers in this game lack.

No, they are not. Devs made totems harder to find, it takes roughly 3 times more time than it used to do, to give totems like ruin a better chance during the game. By doing so, they also buffed NOED.
And the killer can disable OoO: just run Third Seal or blindness addons 4head.
The power of OoO lies in the killers hands, you could ignore it, or rush them out of the game. Anyone asking it to be nerfed are just killers wanting to be able to ignore survivors to get free hooks.
Same logic applies. NOED isnt healthy at the moment. Its theoretically fine in the same sense that OoO is theoretically fine. They both only work if the opposition ignores a part of their potential objectives, yet ignoring that part of their potential objectives punishes them severely even if the opposition isnt actually skilled.
NOED needs a rework. Either it needs to go back to the 2 minute timer, where for 2 minutes long a killer can instadown(meaning there is a timeframe where you can unhook a survivor without being instadowned if the killer camps) while no longer being a hex, OR it needs to remove the instadown completely and just add a ######### ton of movementspeed instead while remaining a hex(and I mean something like adding 15% MS extra).
You're comparing apples to oranges. OoO is inherently stronger than Third Seal. Can killers find a totem to cleanse and completely remove the perk from the survivor? No. The killer has to work much harder to chase that survivor down multiple times in order to get them out of the match.
The devs made totems harder to find because they were too easy to find in the first place. Many of times I spawned right on top of a lit totem. Many of times I would see a lit totem right across from the first gen I approach. Sure, some totems are more difficult to find than others, but there are plenty of totem spawns that are located out in the open that are easily found.
It is obvious that the devs intend for survivors to cleanse totems. If that wasn't the case, they would have never come up with Undying. We wouldn't have perks such as Small Game, Detectives Hunch and Inner Strength. We wouldn't have maps that can easily show you where the totems are located. NOED wouldn't be tied to a totem if they didn't intend for us to cleanse them. Hex perks wouldn't be as strong as they are if we weren't meant to look for them and cleanse them. It is just survivors refuse to change one perk slot out of 16 in order to counter one perk out of the killers four.
NOED doesn't need any change whatsoever. It is fine as is. The solution is simple, 4 people can cleanse totems throughout the trial or you can wait to find the lit totem after the last gen is completed. The problem lies with bad survivors refusing to do anything but rush gens and have 5 minute games.

I mean, my point was entirely that people have a full right to insulting or being angry with players that actively destroyed their fun without them being able to do anything against it. I have had matches where there was a literal infinite because of extremely unfortunate RNG(I am talking windows in the middle of walls facing each other while being next to the main building, which also had an open window, you could literally run through all windows and the window blocking cooldown would be reset on the first one, no mindgames). I had a full right of getting angry at the 1 survivor who kept on exploiting that loop, because even with Bamboozle I couldnt block any windows, there was no way for me to cut off and there was 0 mindgames keeping me there. I ended up slugging that survivor to death when I had the chance, to which place that survivor obviously got mad, but at least I had a reason to slug him to death. Where the only reason he had to exploiting the infinite was just to ruin my fun.
They are the ones actively deciding to ruin someone else's fun, so they are the ones being worth to blame for their own actions. Sure, the devs are responsible, but responsibility for the existance of something, and the responsibility for ruining someone else's fun are seperated. I can be mad at the devs for allowing such a thing in the game, while also be angry at the person who abused that part of the game purely to ruin my fun.
I disagree with people having a full right to insult others for how they play a video game, which has no bearing on one in real life. You can be upset with the method they chose to play, but you have no right to be angry at the person for choosing to do so. The situation that you describe is the fault of the developers not the player. The killer has no right to get upset at the survivor player for abusing game mechanics that are meant to be used.
The problem with tunneling and hating killers is that you have no idea if the killer is doing it to ruin that survivors fun or if it is strategic. A killer may decided that you're the weakest link and get you out of the match asap in order to lessen the pressure. They may have decided that you're too much of a threat to give a break and will tunnel you off hook in order to make things easier on themselves.
If you know that the killer is 100% intent at just ruining your fun, then yes, you can be upset with them. The problem is lots of players like to cry foul even though the killer is just genuinely playing the game and trying to win.
