The biggest jumpscare I've ever had in this game is walking around and getting a pallet slammed in my face when I didn't know a survivor was there.
-
Did someone bring a new moon offering? Time to break out those P3 Claudettes.
-
I'd recommend just playing perkless and go for the Power Moves achievement. It's time to break your reliance on perks.
Be free.

Great skill checks on generators are +300. You need 6 good skill checks to match one, and even if you're really on point you're gonna miss some of those greats. Stake Out (for me) is better than the Spine Chill line of perks because you get something tangible out of it while being alerted. It's not so hot against stealth killers when their terror radius is gone but the majority of matches it's beautiful.
If it's a stealth killer you should be keeping your eyes peeled anyway. (In my opinion.)
Something that has always tickled me is that a lot of people run We're Gonna Live Forever and get stacks to increase their bloodpoint gains but completely overlook Stake Out and the +300 per skill check you get for greats on generators and 150 points for Self Care, which also greatly speeds it up. You'll see survivors finish a match with somewhere around 12,000 points or so and I'm sitting at 22,000+ and I know while they tried and did well during the trial, the left a lot of points on the table because they weren't paying attention to skill checks.
I got trained to do greats back when Ruin skillchecks regressed your generator if you got a good skill check, so it was either get good or tap the generator, but I hope survivors understand that yes, your skillchecks matter.
It pairs well with Yun-Jin's perk Fast Track. Stake out guaranteeing you a great skill check and Fast Track getting lots of stacks because your sacks of altruism keep getting prepped to be dispensed can really turn the game around.
1 generator left? 27% generator progress just by touching the generator? That can mean the difference between getting someone else out with you or escaping through the hatch.
-
It only works on me if you're the last survivor left. It's on the same level as dropping your item for me and kneeling in defeat.
-
I generally use mine at very small, tight loops. It either makes the survivor abandon the loop or they get slowed enough for me to walk around and get a hit. It's also good if you catch a survivor off guard since it can hold them long enough for you to get within striking distance before they can run to their safety spot.
-
You jinxed yourself by posting this. Next game you cleanse a glowing totem it'll be Haunted Grounds and you'll be in the terror radius when it pops.
-
I used up all my Moris yesterday because I couldn't stop rescuing survivors from the trials. I'm usually nice, but the chance to actually save some of them was something I couldn't pass up. I have such...wonderful things to show them.
I considered my matches chill but my version of chill compared to someone else's version are probably two different things. I really enjoy running the green add on that increases chain hunts with the brown one that moderately increases chain hunts. Very high paced games.
Franklin's/Hoarder/Hex: Plaything and Hex: Retribution. Up to 50 seconds of truesight on those box touchers.

Nice.

Zombies generally just want to eat your brains. The trick is to be like me and be very dum.
It's zombie repellent.

So...pre nerfed MOM?
I was thinking something like that. Run it with the actual MoM, styptic, and have someone rescue you with borrowed time. Some survivors just don't go down.
-
I play with survivors a lot if I see they're struggling, and just evade bad killers if they're doing the same so I don't end up taking them on a long chase. It's relaxing playing with people that are very chill.
I don't think any really experienced player revels in stomping a newbie. Once or twice maybe, but I've been known to slug people on death hook just so they can get more points before I finish the job.
Edit: Feels good to give people hatch sometimes.
-
I've been having very innocent looking survivors give me a reasonable run for my money. My Pinhead just got evaded by an almost default Dwight. I was just playing with him and suddenly his eyes glowed bright red and I realized I was dealing with God Dwight, Lord of Lockers.
Never judge a book by their cover, as they say. I'm getting some real cheeky survivors that I know the maps. Think of it as just bonus bloodpoints. Nothing more. If you do end up being true bad with a killer or survivor, you'll get people of your rank so you can relax.
I still get P3 god Nurses.
*ugly cry*

I have a dream that one day Steam will tell people when they're going to do whatever they do and give us a heads up.
-
I think if I were to make a boon totem it'd be like...
"Prayer to the fallen."
You mourn the survivors that fell to make this totem. In respecting the dead, they grant you a shield that absorbs one attack from the killer. When the shield takes a hit, the shield instantly breaks and the boon totem is destroyed.
That way there's kind of a game going on. Do you leave the totems up and keep using them for shields and risk having a dull totem up for NOED/Undying or something, or compete against the other survivors that may also have the boon totem perk for usage?
If the killer doesn't like it they can cleanse the boon totem. Simple.

What makes hoarder so good on him? I roll with franklins but never saw the point in hoarder
Hoarder lets you see when a survivor picks up an item, including the puzzle box.
I don't wanna put down my item, even if I do it willingly. I'm sure many other survivors feel the same. However it's either toughen up and pick up the box or it's chain hunt city.
-
We know now that it's why they upgraded the survivor character models. That means we're probably only going up hill from here with how much more intense things can get, especially if killer models get an upgrade too down the line.
It's very welcome in my camp. The box I opened has oodles of slasher horror.
-
I used to run broken keys to see all of the killer Mori animations.
-
It's always 8pm somewhere.
-
Give them some time. There's an update coming to save ya.
-
Nah. They're fixing it. Hang in there console bro.
-
Pinhead is an angel to some. It's to be expected.
-
It's an easy way to lose a game at high ranks, so killers grow out of it. Heck today We had a leatherface try it on my solo queue super survivors and we knocked out gens and let each other fall to the second hook state (so we all ended the match on Entity Summoned) to do generators in peace.
Leatherface got one of us due to NOED, but it didn't really work out for them. If it was really, really effective everyone would do it.
-
It's your box. At that point just keep it.
-
I used his power twice the entire match and it was to slow a survivor down at a small, tight loop. Just play him like a bread and butter M1 killer and let the chain hunt/box entertain the survivors while you do your duties.
-
If a survivor is hugging a small, tight loop, if you aim it properly you can slow them down enough to get a hit.
If you snipe them from far away you get nothing for it. It just tells the survivor you're nearby and to stretch before getting into a chase to prevent injury.
-
It's my box. I'll do what I want with it.
I like the music that plays.

my pretty girl~
She has a nice smile.

A threat to some, a clown to others.
-
I dunno if the game still does this but it used to be that if you tapped a generator that had overcharge on it and ran off, the skill check would follow you and you could hit the skill check while on the run.
Alternatively you could miss the skill check and cause your survivor to explode to intimidate the killer.
-
You bought the cosmetic because you thought it looked cool. Your character was happy with your decision and is wearing it for you.
Your character will be upset if you let other people dress your character for you. Think about how your character feels.
-
Trickster just got the buff where it takes 6 knives to down someone.
-
I'm not sure. I was playing survivor and had a Pinhead crash me at the start of the game during a chase on the |----| old school map. One person disconnected before me, but suddenly he just lagged out and I couldn't vault a window. Next thing was host disconnected.
I've played other Pinheads and had no issue other than them interrupting me from unhooks and generator repairs. Dunno why they do it.

Except I'm still thrown against sweaty survivors. Since he's brand new, shouldn't everybody be on the same playing field for the moment?
No. When you're brand new to the game you should get Rank 1 survivors so you'll depip them by not hooking anyone and making it impossible to get enough Chaser and Altruism. Even better if you slug one them and can't figure out how to hook.
Sounds like my idea of a good time.
-
Maybe that's why they implemented MMR with this one.
-
It's happening to me too. I ended up getting it as survivor vs. Pinhead but it was a streamer so if I get time (I won't) I'll check it out from his end.
-
Looks like it. Hopefully they'll give an official announcement when it's safe to play.
-
Killers heard her PTB scream when hooked and have steered clear ever since.

If you all had Soul Guard that killer would just be a slight pest scratching your back while you did generators.
-
You crouch, you get thrown over the couch.
You BM, you're post mortem.
You click, you can
Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about it. People will find a way to get mad even if everything is entirely innocent. It's just the way the game is. If you can get the killer to fill up your bold emblem, then really he's doing you a favor if you think about it.
-
It was a long time ago but all the gens were done and the exit gate was open. I was playing the Pig (I know) and I was going against an injured Steve iirc and we were on a farm map with corn. He was an easy down, and on death hooks so I wasn't thinking too hard about it or trying anything fancy. I didn't chase the spins or anything. Just held W and lunged every time it came off cooldown.
Steve spun me 5 times in the corn and made it to the exit gate in one piece. I wasn't even mad.
-
If you don't bring any items when you're playing survivor, you lose nothing and gain blood points for the effort.
Up the Ante.
-
I'd play it.
-
I just wanted to enter the topic and declare I'm not good at math.
-
I get most of my Tombstone Myers 4ks on Swamp maps. Just saying.
-
Seconding Where Did They Go?. I play solo survivor. Lightning is going to have to strike for me to get that one.
-
For me out of those it's competency. I like knowing what I'm getting into before it happens so I'll read up or play killers or use perks just to see how they're used so I can handle them better.
I'm guilty of running on autopilot and just doing the tiles the most optimal way regardless of what the other team is doing. Surprisingly some of the time it works all of the time.
-
Balanced landing. I'm kind of annoyed at the amount of times I go down after falling from a high place only to have my character move at 10% speed for a few seconds while I'm trying to turn him around and get in a window.
Dead Hard still wins over it because I get more use out of it when I'm not exhausted on the ground. Especially on occasions where I'll be in a chase and a hapless survivor will get in my way and I have to dead hard through them.
