You've been beaten and brutalized by a slasher in the dark fog. A pool of blood forms beneath your feet. You dangle helplessly on a hook, knowing the Entity will soon take you. The killer scours the horizon for his next victim, preparing to advance the next phase of his diabolical plan.
Another survivor runs up to you with the killer only feet away. "A true friend!" He says aloud.
Wait no, the killer is right there, don't unhook me. He'll just rip us apart!
"A true friend!" The survivor says again with a bigger smile as the killer smacks him upside the head. You get hit as well, and your vision goes gray from the pain. The survivor follows right behind you, an even bigger smile spreading wildly across his face.
"A true friend!" The survivor says again as he is slammed to the ground by the slasher in tow. Your heart is racing, and only stops once the other survivor is picked up. You find your favorite corner and begin to mend yourself and begin to giggle. There was a book you picked up recently. You understand now. A smile spreads across your face.
A true friend.

You can only teleport within a certain range which can be extended by using add ons so you can't wander too far away from your web and be effective, but yeah. You'll see a white outline of your Hag slasher and a prompt to teleport to it in the bottom center of your screen. If you do it immediately after the trap is triggered and swing usually it's a guaranteed hit.

But with no bell or red stain they were running into stuff and didn't know how to react at all it seemed. I'm not to much of a hit and run kind of guy myself
Well you figure you can pull people straight off generators with a lot of stealth killers that you can see. Even I get caught off guard by a Wraith zooming 200mph around a corner. If you commit to a chase as Wraith you have no tools to help you during, you're just an M1 killer unless you stealth and try to speed boost cheese your survivor. Yes you can block pallets and windows but you're not supposed to stay up forever against a slasher. You're buying time. That's just part of the game.
If survivors heal really fast against a hit and run wraith, you lose your pressure. If you take a while to down someone as a committing wraith, you lose your pressure. People complain about wraith, but then you show them an experienced Nurse or Blight/Spirit and they chill out.
There's just a really low skill floor for bing bong boy. The other three listed have a learning curve so it doesn't feel so bad when you go down against them.
-
You need to be good in chases to deal with Wraith, and a lot of people just aren't. That's all it is.
Wraith is going to find you and get the first hit, and he's either going to run away and hit and run or commit to downing you. If the Wraith commits, you need to stay up while your team does generators. Not everyone can do that.

I use the 900 iri green shirt on Claudette with brown pants, Same functionality. Adam with a dark brown trenchcoat can be really impossible to see. I used Meg with Zoey's hair and the black coat with the white front back in the day and it worked.
The problem now is you have white maps like Ormond and the indoor maps that don't let you become a plant, but default Dwight on Ormond is kinda tricky sometimes, same with default Jake. (Green body, brown pants.)
Alternatively you can go full rainbow colors and click a flashlight at the killer. He's going to see you and think you want a chase but in reality you don't and he'll walk away to get a less troublesome survivor. It's a bluff, but an effective one.

Not nice to queen Morel
I apologize with all of my heart. For I must kneel before the one that gave us all Self Care, a perk so powerful it controls the flow of the trial. May no corner of the map be unused and the moon offerings forever be in your favor.
-
We need more lockers next to window vaults.
-
Is Claudette a new survivor? I've played this game for years and never seen one. I do put invisible survivors on hooks sometimes though. This game is kinda magical that way.
-
Most of the time I go down is because I didn't want to lead the killer to a generator and scatter the other survivors, especially if Ruin is up. The downside to my strategy is sometimes I'll be chased to the far end of the map with no generators and my team will either be hit by the bystander effect or they'll all run across map to come get me.
I'm sure there's a balance there but I'm usually too tired when I'm playing to really worry about it.
-
You're supposed to be scared of The Shape and always be aware that he can take you out of the match any time he wants to (if he brought the right add on of course). There's a reason everyone loves Myers and it's not just because of his sexy legs. He's the part of the game a lot of us fell in love with and got us into hide and seek 'sacrifice' simulator.
Winning and losing are never going to be adequate descriptions of a trial with The Shape. It becomes surviving or sacrifice.
Also The Shape has been stalking you the entire time you've been reading this and is about to hit Tier III. Have fun!
(For the record I almost exclusively run Tombstone pieces and I always rip up the most bold survivor in the match first. Except for that one time a few years ago where a Bill was crouching in the corn and didn't think I saw him so I stopped my chase and grabbed him as I walked by. Heh.)
-
I want an 80% speed killer but if he catches you then you go down instantly, lose two hook states and lose any item you're carrying. You just appear on a nearby hook after the screen fades to darkness.
It'll just be a gelatinous cube from Dungeons and Dragons with no terror radius. If you get caught twice you turn into bones inside of the killer.
-
You shouldn't be chasing people as Trapper around loops. Herd them into your traps. Do not give survivors control of the chase.
My build when I'm playing seriously with the trapper is Discordance / Ruin / Corrupt Intervention / Nurse's Calling
If a pallet gets dropped usually I'll set a trap down so if they decide to slide over it later the chase is instantly finished. Always bring a bag, and learn how survivors like to run to their destination. Sometimes a very obvious trap is very effective because of muscle memory. The biggest buff they ever gave Trapper was adding new killers because very few people nowadays know all the trap spots. Use it to your advantage.
-
Myers is always watching over you. He'll be there until the very end.
-
I wonder if you can really use a human eye like that. Hmm.
-
Today I had the word mobile censored, which if you know your curses you know a six letter word being blocked out sounds a million times worse than saying the word mobile. In context I was talking about how Blight was a mobile killer, but I think he had a pride flag on his hook and now I'm worried I hurt his feelings, and the mobile gaming player base.
Oh dear.

P3 Nurse that has 50,000 hours and has memorized every map. This Nurse player runs five miles every day and goes to the gym, alternating between upper body core and leg strength. Their hearing and eyesight were blessed by the gods, and their map sense is beyond reproach.
The moment this Nurse exhales, three survivors are already on the hook. You were left alone, last, and unable to save anyone. You wondered why, at least until you saw that she brought a Cypress Mori.

When Demo isn't available anymore they should make him extremely overpowered for the lulz.
-
I've never seen anything regarding Stranger Things besides what I've seen in this game. I have no idea who these characters are so they don't really mean a lot to me. That said, I think I'm going to buy Johnathan, Scoops, the Nancy with the brown jacket and the Geo mutation Demogorgon just because I have extra money laying around and I don't think I'll miss the other costumes,
Edit: The 35 Auric cell pack gave me enough to get the survivor skins and all of Demo's outfits so my account is going to have the rare fancy demos. One day someone's gonna be like wow you're a big Stranger Things fan look at the cool costume you bought and I'll be like...
...puppy look cool.

Congratulations! It's always cool to be able to sit back after you finish something like that. It's quite an...
Achievement.

I'm a fan of this idea. I'd be a fan of having indoor generators have extensions like the massive poles generators have on outside maps. Dunno how you'd do it, but yeah.
-
You're gonna sacrifice me to the Entity and you're going to like it.
-
Entity theme (Pustula, claws, etc) or Happy fantasy (I made a poll for Murder Meadows a while ago).
Taking something extremely uplifting is something Dead by Daylight hasn't done yet, so it would only show up every once in a while but the sheer difference from the usual would be jarring enough to spook people I think.
-
Back when there was a daily to get a head pop with the trap I was guilty of stealthing around and following a survivor til they died so I know just how cheeky you can be with those traps.
I've never been a fan of them as survivor though. I feel like every time a pig downs me and puts a trap on my head and it takes more than 3 boxes to take off someone else on my team has gone down and a generator has popped. Just too much is out of the survivor's hands, especially if you enter another chase and get downed again. Playing as the pig I don't feel like I notice an effect until someone dies from it.
I get it. The jigsaw franchise revolves around these sorts of traps, but can't say I like them. Pig is just an awkward killer. Normal M1 game, an ambush attack that has a loud scream accompany it, and her RNG traps. Her stealth game is...okay I guess, I've been snuck up on but that's not really something to brag about considering how oblivious I can be at times. (A few days ago I walked directly into a Dark Devotion Plague player.)
Nerf the pig, etc. Pig clearly had a better gamer chair.

I play about once a week, and I take a few months break sometimes. (As someone that has played since way early on)
It's just the need for variety. Sometimes I'll play just survivor. Sometimes it's just a killer kind of month. Sometimes I'll play something else for a while. It's just a game at the end of the day, BUT you can sit down, play a match that last at most ~20 mins, then do something else or you can play for 4 hours and hit the rifts.
Of course I enjoy chatting on the forums and sharing game knowledge with just a tad smidgen of teasing and trolling. I find it fun.
-
Oh my gosh.
I would kneel before her if I could see her aura to know where she is.

I'm down with this. Revert Self Care to how it was at launch please.
Thanks, and have fun.

I think it's not working as intended. Try just doing two generators. That should work.
-
Well, hes done a pretty good job so far. I wish him the best on future projects.

What made me really, really good with Trapper was playing survivor and watching other survivors. I took note of how they run, where they hide and so forth (using Bond). There are only so many ways a survivor can go on the map and if you can figure out the most commonly used path you cannot be stopped.
I always carry a bag of some variety + an add on that determines how tryhard I'm going to be that match. Run a bag though, really. It's a quality of life thing.
Perks I use when going hard are Discordance / Ruin / Corrupt / Nurses Calling, and I just walk paths that I would as survivor and plop down traps as I hunt. You can make any perk setup work with the Trapper if you know survivor routing well, but something I like to do is if I'm in a chase and a survivor drops a pallet, I'll drop my trap on the other side of it and continue the chase (as opposed to breaking the pallet) same thing if a survivor seems to like vaulting a certain window. I guarantee they'll run into a deadzone or a sub-optimal position. It's very reliable, and if they double back or another survivor is caught unawares they're gonna slide right into your trap.
-
I play nice all the time when I play simply because I don't really care if the survivors die or not. If I really need that survivor six feet under I will load into the match with a much more powerful loadout than I normally use, but ~75% of the time I load in with a subpar or meme build. I don't really tunnel (but I do recommend you not make yourself an easy target) and prefer to go after the healthy survivor that rescued you.
I find that when I get really invested in killing a survivor adrenaline starts acting up and I start missing a lot of swings and make all sorts of dumb blunders, so I stopped doing that years ago.
Build a sand castle, fly a kite. Enjoy your match survivors. I'm just going to walk between generators and enjoy myself while looking at the pretty maps. If you get sacrificed that's probably entirely your fault.
-
20ish or so. I only play this game one day a week but I knock out master challenges and finish the rift one week then do whatever the second week if the mood strikes so I jump levels quickly.
I very rarely finish a rift though I do like the concept of them very much so.
-
Hit them with the purple bottle smoke first, THEN get them to run into the yellow fog. I just used default add ons when I did it.
I think I did it naturally in the match I threw to do that challenge, but in the exit gate I tossed purple on my left and yellow on my right and the survivors just ran in circles for me so I have no idea if I did it legit or not, but I appreciate survivors always willing to lend a hand to the Clown.
-
I'm just messing around on my killers. It's only a matter of time before I start teasing brown rank survivors again.
Finally, it has been what, two years or something? Mwahaha.
-
Soul Guard / Self Care / Botany Knowledge / Desperate Measures + Medkit
I play really aggressively and interrupt chases, so I get hit a lot. I've gotten hit, ran around a hill and healed myself really quickly and ran up the hill, crouched down and stared at the killer as he continued after his original target.
I feel like we share an intimate moment as we look into each others eyes. He knows I'll interfere with his chase if he leaves me alone, but if he comes up the hill to chase me his prey will escape and it will be a fresh chase. I could have Balanced Landing. He does not know. It's just the two of us in the universe, and I heal really fast. Does he trust himself enough to land a second hit while I'm healing on the other side of the pallet? Is my team battered and broken? It only makes me stronger. Do you have NOED or Ruin? Two of the most used perks in the game?
I will rise again.*
Sure I don't have Dead Hard, but I have Sprint Burst after Sprint Burst, and I am never exhausted. I continue to come time after time. Again and again. Nothing will stop me.**
*Please give me enough time to recover. It takes a minute. Please be patient.
**Please do not play Plague or any one shot killer. Please run a Hex and defend it so my team doesn't cleanse it. It hurts my feelings if the match doesn't go exactly the way I want it.
-
They've moved away from the core concept of the game. Pallet looping was originally not intended. It was a hide and seek game. Scratched Mirror Myers was a big deal. It was the first time you really couldn't hide the whole match.
Is that bad? No, they've done a lot of good with the game, but they don't focus on why people are playing it. It isn't generator repair. Chases are split between 4 survivors and don't last very long. So what's left?
The tension where you're hiding while the killer is seeking. Crouching around that gen hoping you don't get spotted.
That's where the magic is.

@Yatol said:
you said your teammates died and didnt dc, so i guess thats what made the report stick, since its odd for a killer to just "give up" when there are 2 survivors left. i woudnt be suprised if i was wrong but also make sure nobody else has access to your account.
I play with my survivors all the time and very often leave 2 survivors left to 'tell the tale' so to speak. Especially when they're both on death hook and I have one hooked in the basement. I like to see if they'll save their friend or go sit on the hatch (which I will be on). If they're brave and altruistic I reward that.
Then there are times I'm just straight up playing with my food, but that's another story.
In general a lot of games punish you on a delay, sometimes months out so you don't know what you did on purpose. I think Team Fortress 2 is one that does this method, but I haven't really dug into the subject much. If I had to guess they're going to give you the slip on that one if you try to squeeze them on it in a really corporate manner.
My best recommendation is to remember what they did to you, for better or worse. Don't forget this.
(But I personally hope you'll give them another chance.)
-
Oh thank god.
-
The less defense perks you have, the more offensive you need to be. I use a lot of meme perks in red/purple because the game refuses to put me lower and I wanna mess around. I don't know why my toys break so easily though. I was just tapping them with my weapon, honest.
Spirit Fury/Enduring is a fun combo, but it really comes down to you locking down the gen jockey on their team. Thanks to rifts a lot of survivors are off doing random things they normally wouldn't do, but that gen jockey needs a lot more attention than the Meg wandering around.
-
I like keeping it on because I like fast matches. I do feel like console players are weaker than PC players but I've been surprised sometimes.
-
I knew it, BHVR even released my trailer!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyoUecpe_wUI may not have my gamer chair in the Entity's realm, but I have my gamer chair in my heart.
-
When are you going to add a killer/survivor queue est time for a lobby on the main screen so I know which role to jump into.
-
I opened my first glyph in a chase and saw skillchecks flying and didn't know what to expect, so even with the killer cheering me on it ended with him picking me up while I was down so I had to try again later.
Once you know it's a skillcheck blitz it's pretty cool, neat to see them trying different things.
-
As killer if you realize a survivor has spine chill because of how they act, just don't look in their direction as you approach them on their gen. They'll be watching the perk icon instead of the game map, and you can snatch them off.
Just pretend you're hiding your red glow.
-
I dunno man. Every time I played against old Freddy I'd run around with my head on my shoulder for a few seconds then fall asleep.
I'd be down for an old school add on too though. Currently at the start of the match you instantly know you're facing Freddy and it removes a lot of tension. There's a lot they could do with Freddy now that I think about it.
Hmm.
-
Congratulations! I did mine a few months after the Halloween chapter and it's probably tougher to do nowadays. I'm happy for you!
-
Vaults. Ever since Leatherface got a buff he's harder to time in loops because his add ons change his speed/duration of the saw.
You won't always have a vault available but if Leatherface is breathing down your back and you don't have a vault within a fair distance of you, you're gonna have to pull some cheeky maneuvers or you're going down. He's definitely a killer you need a plan to go against routing wise.
Obviously the first thing that pops into my mind is the killer shack for vaults. If there's a basement there consider going to a different area. Because reasons.
