You could have it reveal survivors outside the terror radius with a successful blood fury hit. But it would just need some kind of downside
Short-term aura reading? Keep in mind this is an Iri. addon so it needs/should be pretty strong
-
Are they actually well hidden? I almost don't want to believe it, we've always had garbage totem spawns.

Absolutely unnecessary Soul Guard change. Wasn't OP at all, was only good for certain uncommon situations. The cooldown is completely unneeded.
LMAO at nerfing Lucky Break like that, now you NEED a healing build to make IW + LB work at all.
Don't think I'm fond of new OoO either, I'm okay with it being gone but needing the Killer to specifically read your aura for the bonus speed seems bad and being the Obsession with this perk gives the Killer free aura reading on you while you can't see them. Doesn't seem very fair for the Survivor. This perk is pretty much deleted, it's C or D tier now.
I don't think we're reading the same perk- new Object shows you the Killers aura whenever they see yours + your aura is shown to them for 3s every 30s if you're the Obsession. It's like a better version of Distortion, with the speed buff of Spine Chill.
SG will be the same, the 'nerf' only affects a specific spammable issue that only SWFs could do. Lucky Break seems like a harsh nerf though, maybe make it reuseable each time you get injured in exchange for a shorter time (~20s).
-
More importantly- is it enough to balance out the extra 2 seconds of stun they gave them?
-
It needs buffs. Personally I'm in the "Addons should be useful all-game" camp, so ideally it does a lot more. One idea I had was that Black Box permanently blocks the gates for sleeping survivors, but they take longer to fall asleep OR have a longer immunity timer before starting to fall asleep.
-
I like running a meme build idea and do a completely different objective.
EX: Play Plague with Discordance, Oppression, Surge and Surveillance. Use Black Incense and Severed Toe, vomit on Survivors if they're close together or are already sick. Vomit on objects randomly, punish them for not cleansing. I call it COVID Plague.
There's also Crack Wraith, with Purple and Green Shadow Dance addons w/Iron Maiden, Brutal Strength, Fire Up and Bamboozle. Basically do everything lightning fast.
-
Don't worry guys! Lucky Break + Iron Will isn't so OP! Just use new Swing Chains on Freddy and you'll be tracking them by their really loud footsteps!

Black Box and Soldier's Putte seem really weak for URs.
Just as bad as Rule Set No. 2, or Matchbox, or Waterlogged Shoe, or Father's Glasses, Iridescent Seal, Iri. Family Crest... just a lot of bad Iri. addons in general. Devs need to be more aggressive with changes.
-

Mostly good. But uhm.. Black Box is still really niche.
Niche is being nice- It's just as bad as before if not worse. This addon will almost never see play, and even then it'll never be effective. 15 seconds immediately after the gate opens for sleeping survivors only, as an Iri. addon???
Should be blocked for sleeping survivors permanently, they have to wake up to escape.
-
Depends- how fast does he move? I can't imagine him being faster than a Survivor during the cooldown but if it offsets the additional 2 seconds on successful pounces (still crazy that made it to live, F Twins players) then it could be worth it.

I hope this is true, and it doesn't get delayed again like all kill did.
It got confirmed on DBD's Twitter.
-
I never tried to get it, but waited for the ideal circumstances. Finally got it when 2 ppl were dead and a Huntress was chasing down a really good Feng. I hid and 99'd gens waiting for her to die, as soon as she did I popped the gen and opened the gate (Luckily the gates were far apart and had lots of LOS blockers to prevent hatchets). I was roughly 950hrs in at that point.
This specific achievement needs more luck than any other, including From The Void She Kills (Nurse Blink grab after 3 blinks) or Evil Incarnate (Mori all Survivors using only Myers' Tombstone addon(s)).
EDIT: Forgot Where Did They Go? (All 4 Survivors escape via the hatch).

Every time I've played against her shes gotten a 4k with ease so idk, maybe they've just had crazy perks.
How low is your rank? Because I know for a fact that Red and Purple rank Survivors can beat her fairly regularly.
-
It comes out tomorrow. The RE chapter's PTB comes out on May 25th, with the expected live release on June 15th (At this point, it'll be version 5.0.0).
-
Licensed- Myers and Laurie. There was a renewal of the Halloween license a month or 2 ago, I'm sure they're already working on remodels for these two and Haddonfield, wouldn't be surprised to see a Rift for them too.
Original- Clown because I like his serial killer backstory, we don't have many of those among the non-licensed characters. For Survivor probably Felix bc my other 2 main Survivors already got Rifts (Claudette and Kate).
-
No way. He's not even one of the main baddies of the game (like Mother Miranda or Lady Dimetrescu), not to mention this is RE's 25th anniversary. The most likely candidate is a classic RE villan like Nemesis or Mr. X.
-
It depends- if you like range and short chases Deathslinger is better, if you like map pressure Twins are better. Perkwise I'd choose Deathslinger- Coup de Grace is a meme perk and Hoarder is bad w/o Spinning Top or Franklins. Retribution helps a lot w/aura reading, especially with multiple Hexes, and while niche Gearhead and Dead Man's Switch are pretty good when combo'ed with other perks (Gearhead--> PGTW or DMS: DMS--> Furtive Chase or Nemesis).
-
It's called a 2nd chance perk for a reason. Granted it won't also come into play, but all it takes is one misplay and it'll ruin a Killer's day. Having gone against it on both sides, it's almost as bad as old DS or new BT- at least it can't be abused via 1 minute immunity or body-blocking to protect the unhooker.
-
I don't think there's a plan for who gets an archive when- technically Clown still doesn't have a Rift, despite many Killers released after him having one.

All i seem to get in my games are Blights & Huntress. Yesterday I had 8 Blights...That's really abnormal don't think i've played the same killer that much before. Then I had 6 Huntresses with the odd Ghostface thrown in between those games...Just seems i'm going against the same 2-4 Killers everyday
I play the same 4-5 Killers that I'm good with, but admittedly 3 of them are 'meta' being Deathslinger, Spirit and Blight (the others are Hag and Doctor). If I'm bored I'll switch it up with Nurse, Ghost Face, Pig, maybe Freddy if I'm having a bad day, or Twins.

Seriously don't do this.
hasn't even been two weeks since trickster and they about to announce a new killer.
stop adding new killers that will take you forever to balance and just focus on your current roster of killers that are weak and need balancing right now like trickster
While they're at it, they should stop adding new Survivors too. And no more map reworks, we never asked for those anyway. Definitely don't do anymore patches or updates either, they're changing the game too much. In fact, just leave the game as it is- its perfect.

All the OC characters except the Saw and Shattered Bloodline Chapters. I even got all of Laurie and Feng's perks with shards, then after a long time of playing bought them for the achievements (Feng w/shards ofc).

When people were speculating Until Dawn for the Twins Chapter I got super excited, I hope we get the wendigos (or a wendigo-like killer) in the future.

I've done this, first Soul Guard then MoM.
I used it with a Styptic against a Bubba a year ago on the PTB, there was a bug where you could stack them all. Long story short I bullied a Bubba by not going down to 3 chainsaw hits in 10 seconds.

The idea of a battle pass is to reward dedicated players, and get more casual players to spend more time playing. It's not supposed to be a participation award where you play 5 hours per week and get the same reward as someone who plays 5 hours daily.
They're already making changes to the archives so you get more fragments for completing a web, and the rift is gonna require less XP for one fragment. This is to make it more casual friendly. In addition to that, you're also able to purchase the old rift cosmetics later down the road too so you technically don't miss out on anything but charms.
That being said, it'd be nice if they added more stuff to the free track - but not auric cells. Getting like 4500 shards for a completed free track would be a nice gesture. That way you could buy a green rarity cosmetic in the store, or you'd be halfway to buying a non-licensed survivor/killer or a purple rarity cosmetic.
Also, DBD's Rift is more rewarding then anyother battle pass I've seen. By completing one you can immediately purchase the next one with the Auric Cells you earn. I haven't spent any money on Rifts since the 1st :p

Multiply the values of Monstrous Shrine by 5 and add Exhaustion and Mangled to Survivors unhooked from the Basement. Easy.

- If BHVR wasn’t BHVR
- Assuming BHVR would put more time and money into the RE Chapter specifically...
- Assuming BHVR had been making this deal behind the scenes for over two years (giving them that ample time)
and
- Assuming BHVR would release this chapter without broken mechanics and an assortment of new bugs...
Describe to me your perfect RE chapter. You can be as ‘to the point’ or descriptive as you want to be. I’m not familiar with the series so...explain it to me with that perspective.
Doesn’t matter to me if your perfect chapter includes crazy ideas or impossible standards. Even joke answers are fine. I’m mostly curious from the RE fans, who actually had a million possible scenarios enter their mind, to the announcement of a RE chapter. I felt nothing...so, I’m trying to build a personal hype for myself through this topic~
Make me excited about a RE chapter please.
I'm not too familiar with the RE franchise, but ideally there's an RE-themed realm with 2-3 maps that are iconic RE locations (Racoon City, Spencer's Mansion, etc.). 2 Survivors, don't really care who but lets have 1 male and 1 female so we can get the rest as legendary cosmetics. And (this is my wildest dream) 2 Killers, Mr. X and Lady Dimitrescu (Nemesis seems too dependent on the rocket launcher, which will never get into DBD :p).

Jokes on you, they hate all of us.

Newer Killers like Deathslinger (who are doing pretty well) won't be getting looked at for a while I think. If anything, next round of addon passes will go to Killers that are underperforming along with buffs to their base powers- think Plague, Legion, maybe Wraith, maybe Twins (lets be real, Twins are in a sad spot rn). I'd like to say Clown but it hasn't been 6 months since his 'rework' so I don't think he'll be majorly looked at for a long time.
-
Killer perks since I'm a Killer main
A Nurse's Calling- Very strong aura reading perk, works well with a lot of other perks and some addons.
Blood Echo- It practically negates Exhaustion perks when used correctly.
Dark Devotion- Confuses even experienced players, personally my favorite Obsession perk
Dead Man's Switch- Pretty good gen protection when paired with Nemesis or Furtive Chase, if it had a smaller block time added for non-Obsession hooks it'd be really good.
Discordance- Find 2 Survivors and prevent the fastest way to finish gens
(Not really close, but Hex: Blood Favor would be great if i had its range doubled and its cooldown decreased OR taken away. It's a Hex for crying out loud, it should be really strong)
Make Your Choice- Its right on the edge of becoming meta, a great anti-camping perk and repeated Exposure. Maybe it could be applied multiple times at once?
Starstruck- Increase time of Exposure after leaving TR or dropping a body
Surge- Decrease cooldown and/or increase immediate Progression penalty
Whispers- Best tracking perk in the game, make the audio directional?

Now they haven't outright said RE8 killer won't be in this chapter but here are a variety of reasons why it won't happen
1. A killer from re8 would have abilities that spoil RE8 somewhat. Capcom would not want to risk spoiling their game before their game is even played by many people. Spoiling a game does put you at greater risk of less game sales. Capcom would not want to take any risks with their new release and I just don't think Capcom would share secret details of their game with another company prior to release
2. Because RE8 hasn't released yet which means Capcom has had some time to make adjustments to the villans while bhvr has been working on their content for the chapter for some time now. I just don't see capcom sharing info on their villains with another company when they could still make major changes to the villains. Capcom would want to keep as much flexibility available to them until last minute while lending it out to bhvr would prevent them.
3. Much bigger risk to use re8 content than Classics. The newer games are a lot more mixed amongst fans while games like re2 are very much loved by old and new fans. It would be a safer choice to pick characters from the most popular games than from a game that has yet to release which is hopefully good but it may not be.
I think that Nemesis or Mr. X is much more likely (more iconic, anniversary celebrating nostalgia, etc.), but RE8 is released on May 7th, whereas our PTB won't be revealed until May 25th. At the point it's too late for RE to make major changes to the game, so while it's much less likely I wouldn't discount Ethan Winters or Lady Dimitrescu as possible Survivor and Killer.
This has nothing to do with me wanting to experience the tall mommy vampire mori me the way she does in the RE8 demo. Nope, not at all. 😅
-
The big names like Pennywise, Jason, Helltaker and Candyman are still out there. There's also the niche but popular theories of Chucky, Springtrap from FNAF, the Xenomorph from Alien or the Predator from its movie, not to mention any small horror games that would be good ideas ingame (Most people thought the Twins Chapter was going to be licensed as the Until Dawn Wendigos).
-
Clovers usually have 3 leaves, the reason 4 leaf clovers are considered 'lucky' is because they're an extremely rare mutation. The RE franchise is all about mutations. This isn't really much I think, considering most of the baddies in RE (and certainly all the candidates for Killers) are all mutated in one way or another. Maybe there's someone who's connected more to mutation than the others; The only one I can think of is Mr. X, who changes/mutates forms as his game(s) go on. Could be a mutation power where he gains more abilities and changes appearance as the Trial proceeds, but at that point it's pure speculation.
EDIT: It submitted before I could finish.
-
It's always nice to get some new blood, and the RE 'Killers' look amazing, from Nemesis to Lady Dimitrescu. There's also a very high chance we're getting a new map with this Chapter, and a couple rumors of 2 Survivors (cause there's a lot of male and female 'Survivors' from RE, having one model for each makes sense). There's also the smallest chance of multiple Killers, but I dare not get my hopes up that much. Regardless, I think the Chapter will live up to the Anniversary hype, and if it goes above and beyond it could make up for the last 3 Chapters and couple of disappointing events.
-
They have to- I can't imagine a franchise as big as RE being OK with not having a map when every other franchise in game (except for solo characters) has a map.

It is for the anniversary- last year Pyramid Head was the star of the 4th anniversary, and before that it was Ghost Face.

New Object reveals the Killer's aura when they see your aura- its practically the same as Distortion. The only difference is that the latter hides you and can be used 3 times a match, whereas Object can be used all game. Stealthy survivors are very far and few inbetween, so people will opt for Object more with this.

Iridecent coin was has and always will be a failure:
The coin is a situational,Hard to use, and map dependent add-on that only has an effect if hit hits a healthy survivor.
Unless you're saying it should be a instant kills(Aka ranged MORI) then please stop suggesting turning iri head into iri coin.
'Map Dependent/Situational' they're ranged killers, they're map dependent regardless of addons. It rewards being skilled with the power meaning high level players will benefit from the effect more than lower level players, overall a more balanced game for all ranks. The only problem w/ Iri Coin is the small window of 3m between its min. range and Slinger's max range.
But yeah, ranged moris are a great idea, completely balanced 👍️

Any word on Trickster's knives not increasing the chaser emblem being fixed?
Trickster changes are coming in Wednesday's bugfix, which will immediately go to live. I think a Dev also said they'll be on tomorrow's PTB but I'm not sure.
-
It needed a nerf but this was way too much. IMO they already had the right idea with Deathslinger's Iri. Coin addon, just give an appropriate version to Huntress.
Hatchets that hit Survivors that are +24m away will put Survivors in the dying state. Rewards skillful shots, allows you to carry more Hatchets w/o being oppressive and encourages going for the Skilled Huntress achievement.
-
The changes are good except for the nerf to pallets (weren't that useful or common, should've been buffed so pallets and snares saw equal amounts of play) and the addon changes. Who the hell would use addons to make Survivors louder? Even the change to Primer Bulb on Bubba and Billy wasn't as drastic as this. Ideally they would keep the same idea that they have been doing for the past few new addons, making them do mini-versions of the Killer's teachables. For Freddy we could have the chain/rope addons be like Fire Up increasing action speed for each Survivor asleep, or like Remember Me making Exit Gates take longer to open for each Survivor asleep.
As for Black Box, they tried going for this idea making it kinda like Bloodwarden, but its not good. In another thread I brought up the following:
Survivors will wake up after being asleep for 120 seconds. Survivors that are asleep cannot leave through the Exit Gates.
Strong, but counterable and not broken by using Red Paintbrush or something akin to it.

"The Entity makes the killers get harmed by the flashlights. It's all part of the game which is integral to the games lore. The Entity is harmed and fears real light, not light is has constructed. If the Entity feared all light, flashlights would not exist. Neither would the lights on the generators, nor the various flickering lights in the indoor maps.
Except it does fear the light of flashlights which are beyond Entity's control and the reason killers are hurt by the light is because they have power of the entity in them. The only reason flashlights don't do anything to the entity in trials is because bhvr didn't put effort into making it.
Explain Lightborn.
We have had lighted areas/scenarios in horror games and movies before (Children of the Corn, some scenes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, Predator, etc.), the Entity can create these scenarios for sure. If its a question of natural light- again, it makes its own light. If Killers are hurt by any light such as the Entity can be, what about the Red Stain? Light produced from Killer powers like Oni's rage, Deathslinger's muzzle flash, hell Ghostface's camera in his mori.
You're taking this way too seriously dude.

Also, are we getting new TR music for the Killers? Demo and Twins already have their own music, but will Huntress get an update to her TR? Will Freddy, with his license?

Iri Coin add-on is terrible, FWIW. But that has more to do with Deathslinger having such a TINY window to trigger the Coin.
I agree, Coin needs a bigger window to trigger its effect. But the idea is really good, rewarding skillful gameplay.

RIP Iridescent Head.
I know it was OP,but that's gonna be her worst addon now.
What i would have liked to see is that successful hatchet throws shouldn't decrease her ammo (e.g Huntress has 5 hatchets, throws one at the survivor and still has 5 hatchets)
Better idea- Iri Head instadowns Survivors further than 24m. This is inline with Deathslinger's Iri Coin addon, as well as rewards skillful play AND encourages people to go for the Skilled Huntress achievement.
-
Well, let’s discuss this in order that they posted it:
I like the reduction in movement speed and snares/pallets for Freddy, as well as the changes to the alarm clocks, but the addon changes were a massacre- the addons mentioned went from super OP (slowing down repair and healing speed) to super crap (making louder noises). Black Box is a step in the right direction, but still bad IMO. Almost no one is going to run these addons now, I’m guessing Freddy’s top addons now will be the power recovery and maybe some niche addons like Class Photo.
Demogorgon needed some love, they only showed a few addons so we’ll need to see them all to be sure. The ones they showed looked OK for what they were (meme addon and decent instinct addon). I kinda like the focus on traveling via portals but they should also give more options for his Shred attack (same with Pig’s Dash).
Huntress addon pass- again, we’ll need to see them all to be sure. I think Iri Head won’t be good since it now caps at 1 hatchet (making Infantry Belt and Leather Loop useless), Soldier’s Puttee looks like something from Trickster’s decay addons when out of blades; Essentially, addons that reward running out of ‘ammo’ aren’t good.
Twins… Cam control and Iri Addon changes are great, but why change Victor’s cooldown??? They weren’t good to begin with, there are much better ways to nerf their slugging potential! Smh this is gonna make them worse overall, put them near Legion and Trickster levels of bad.
Perks: Small Game, Lucky Break, Open Handed and Zanshin Tactics look good (Windows of Opportunity should’ve gotten the same treatment, seeing as how they’re the same but I digress). I like that Soul Guard can’t be spammed in that niche scenario but think BT should be the same, where a protection hit on the Survivor w/BT after 3-4 seconds of being unhooked should negate the Endurance status effect. Its kinda BS that Survivors can abuse this to protect their unhooker- like DS its an anti-tunnelling perk that is abused in this scenario, needs to be looked at. The Object change looks good, but I’ll wait till PTB to say for sure.
Toolbox changes are meh, don’t think it’ll change much. Hatch change is nice, but more should be done for keys soon (I know they said that I just hope it 2-3 months soon and not 2-3 years soon).
HUD Update has me worried, they thought they made it better the first time so Im not sure what this will bring. Struggle update is really nice, won’t entirely prevent hook suicides but at least slows it down a bit (and saves my spacebar from more abuse :p).
Finally, Coldwind! I LOVE the daylight look, hope it’ll stay because it looks amazing. I don’t see too many changes to loops shown but it kinda looks more open? Will have to check again on PTB.
Overall not a bad update- there’s a few things they need to look at and improve like Twins cooldown (again, why???) and some addons for Huntress and Freddy, but not a bad job Devs.
