What if instead of upon Death of the Obsession, the Survivors get progressive penalties whenever the Obsession is hurt and hooked until finally they get the biggest penalty upon the Obsession's death. Kind of like Thanatophobia but centered around the Obsession.

So when the Obsessesion is injured Survivors get 15%, when the Obsession is hooked Survivors get a 20% Penalty, whenever the Obsession dies Survivors get the 25%. The penalties go away when the Obsession is healed and unhooked so it can be countered.

Dying Light is ALREADY massive with Thanatophobia so saying this is an issue means you already hate it when Killers pair these together and that's ok, they are meant to go together. With Thana the buffs would be bigger but always lessened when the Obsession is healed/unhooked. This way hitting the Obsession is a conveniance, killing them is the ultimate goal but you don't NEED to kill them to get the perk working.

And the obsession regretted life for running no-mither XD btw love your idea

Thanks XD I actually had a match where I was a No Mither with SWF and the Killer had Thana, all my buddies were just waiting for me to die LMAO

Killers need more points for event.
Survivors (and somewhat killers) need to get more BP from the offering or there should be more offerings per bloodweb

Yeah that last part with the Bloodweb, gosh I was using characters I never leveled up to get those envelopes because it took less points but you still get 1 envelope per web and only Killers have a chance at making enough BP to get to the next Web at lvl 50.

  • @not_Queen can you please deliver these comments to the Devs? I play on PS4 and I have never had long lobby times until these last two events because the Survivor side was more rewarding than the Killer. The Asymmetrical is supposed to favor the Killer, not the Survivor.

  • How about instead of all these ideas which still have the issue with time it turns into a Token perk? Allowing you to save/bank a token means you can CHOOSE when to use your Pop instead of abandoning a chase or rushing to a Gen and letting someone get insta saved. Cap it at 2 tokens, or hell no tokens but just make it where the very next Gen is Popped, no timer. The timer is tupid, the timer hurts this perk and isn't a balancing thing because whether you do it in 30 seconds or not you're STILL going to kick a Gen SO WHY put a timer on it? Overcharge has no timer.

  • I love Legion, it is harder to down the Survivor but once you get good enough and understand their weanesses you can work around that. Legion is really map dependant though, depending where you hit the Survivor during FF you can down them very easy if they don't have a loop near by. Having M&A helps with setting this up because you can catch Survivors off guard.

He isn't OP and he isn't the weakest, he's just complicated, Legion is like a child with heavy anxiety screaming ''I WANT TO KILL YOU BUT CAN'T!!!!'' Then after getting over it they down you.

  • Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, and Remember Me was my most powerful build for Freddy before I switched off him. I would slug the Obsession then hook the next Survivor I found, just keep wounding and Transitioning as many people as possible, I would slow the game down so hard and sometimes get my 4k so fast I got safety pips.

You can switch out Remember Me with Dyling Light and use the Black Box to put the Ohbsession into the dreameworld, if you can tunnel your Obsession with a Green Mori the game is already won <3

You best have as much fun with Fred before he gets his rework, no idea what changes willhappen to him, I hope it doesn't completely break him, he's so fun and not as weak as everyone says, he just has bigger weaknesses than other Killers do.

  • When I get asked who is the most frightening and lethal Killer, I always say Myers. He's dangerous, but he's not OP, it all depends on who's playing him.

Amanda's Letter is broken as hell if you're decent at the ambush. That attacked with the cassette and the new base crouch speed makes things quite easy and it's rare I go through a match on a proper map with it without getting a 4k.

A normal map? I can see this dominating on Rotten Fields but Red Forest, Disturbed Ward? I get those maps a lot. I've been stacking the VHS and the Medical File and the Ambush is faster but I still prefer just standing up.

  • The Survivor lobby times are SO SLOW I can't take advantage of the better points from Survivor, playing Killer for the points is a grind, this event is so lackluster for me that I actually feel like playing Friday The 13th.

Amanda's Letter is for all intent and purpose Vanity Mirror. I worry if we gave it the normal amount of RBTs it would cause a LOT of camping. That said I don't mind the idea of it having more Jigsaw boxes instead of just two. Much like Scratched/Vanity Mirror, it is heavily map dependent in regards to power. I only bring this up due to the constant drivel I hear about it being her worst add-on. No THAT title goes to Amanda's Secret which DEFINITELY needs a rework.

Amanda's Letter, if anything, is "All-Seeing - Blood" with extra downsides tacked on. Both let you see Auras within a 12 meter radius while using their stealth abilities, but the Pig moves slower than normal while in stealth mode whereas the Wraith moves faster while in stealth mode. When the Pig originally came out, "All-Seeing - Blood" only had a radius of 8 meters, so one could have theoretically made the argument that they were trying to balance for the extra range, but now? Ehhhhhhhhhhhh I don't think so. I guess the question is "Would it be an issue if the Pig effectively had her equivalent of 'All-Seeing - Blood' knowing that she effectively had two Powers (ambushing and Reverse Bear Traps) compared to the Wraith's one?"

All that being said, though, Amanda's Secret is traaaaaaaash. I've seen a few people vouch for Amanda's Letter; I've NEVER see anyone vouch for Amanda's Secret without them taking it back once they were corrected on what it actually did. She has a number of add-ons that are not up to snuff, but that one is by far the worst one. IMO it is not worth losing the Jigsaw Box auras for 6 seconds of Survivor aura that only activates in VERY specific spots that you no longer know the locations of.

The more we talk about her Ultra Rares, the more they seem completely broken. Amanda's Secret could be an Ultra IF they let you keep the Auras of the Boxes. Rules 2 should be Base unless they use my idea. Amanda's Letter would probably be better off if they added in something with her Ambush, sacrifice the fewer traps for a buffed Ambush that is an instadown? That would also warrant the slower speed.

  • I also wish we could have dual accounts for PC and Console, I've been playing almost a year on console and that's a lot of of time and MONEY to regain and spend on the PC. Because of that I have to stay where I am and it sucks :(

Her biggest issues aren't her traps though, it's her crouch and ambush. She needs a higher view point on crouching and the sound on her ambush needs to be removed. (...)

Other things I'd like to see are the penalty on Amanda's Letter removed.

These are all good points. I don't agree on the removal of the "warning sound" of the dash attack, but besides that, it's a very nice summary of what should be done.

Why does it need the sound then? Survivors should have to open their eyes and be looking around just like against a Myers tier 1. Having a warning sound defeats the entire purpose of trying to be skillful and sneak up on them. Not to mention if it really bothered them that much they could simply run Premonition or Spine Chill and negate her stealth entirely.

Part of the sound is from the movies, the roar at the beginning. But yeah, the roar takes out ALL the sneak factor so when I find someone on a Gen I just stand back up. I got 2 grabs doing that in one match, on the same person <3

It is a strange add-on, no Box Auras means you can't wait for them at the Box and force a headpop but then you get the Aura of them taking off the trap so you can go after them. It's kind of like a child making rules on the fly, ''hey you can't go after him right after getting unfrozen y6ou need to wait a minute and THEN go after him''. So you can tunnel them but only after they take off the trap.

Lore wise though, it makes sense. In the films that's actually what she did, even when they won her games she still killed them so I think this Add-on is from that.

  • The idea is cool but all of these events create greed and ruin the game for everyone, it just turns it into the Hunger Games. Everyone rush out and get your ######### before the others and make sure you get what you need, screw everyone else.
For Killers, the Survivors can screw them over just as easy as every event and now they get less points so they have to work harder.

This entire game was built around teamwork, we need an event that requires it, not fun? Don't play the game and don't make a team game if you're going to complain that teamwork isn't fun. These greed filled events shatter the community even more so than the normal game so we need events that REQUIRE helping each other. And we need cooler Objectives for Killer than just hooking, the smashing lanterns is cool but they screwed it up with the teeny tiny timer that good SWF can destroy instantly.

  • If they're not salty privalged Survivors, they might have PTSD from players who don't know how to play Hag and actually DID camp. I've seen tons of dumbasses play Hag wrong where they never leave the hook, 5 traps and circle or wait near the hook like an idiot. Maybe they get flashbacks when they see Hag, or they could just be toxic suck offs who need their daily dosage of ######### down their throat.

  • Doesn't Nurse have an Ultra Rare that shows where she'll Blink to?

I think a powerful Ultra for the saw cousins should be one that makes the Chainsaw completely silent, while charging. You can hear it, but the Survivors can't so they won't know when you'll cut them down until it's too late.

  • Not all killers are Killer Mains, most Survivor Mains don't know how to use Firecrackers.

  • @Demian said:
I would like a buff of Pig's Ambush.

Since it was adjusted to increase the distance of one round of the pallet loops(2.0.0~?), her unbush often have become ineffective on chase. Ambush's dash distance and speed should be slightly buffed.

A buff to Ambush wou8ld be awesome, add-on or base. I only use it in chases actually, when I sneak up on people I just stand up, sometimes pull them off the Gen.

  • My only problems with Freddy is that he cannot defend his hook and if all the Gens are done are you don't have any Endgame perks you're screwed.

I don't have any problem with his slower speed during the Transition, it gives me time to set up a slap to the face, so satisfying when they backflip to the floor.

But I'm happy for the rework, hopefully they don't ruin him, hopefully they don't make him worse and unfun. I love Freddy, I'm playing Pig now but my Avatar might always be Freddy.

Yeah the time is far too short, was on thompsons house hooked someone who proceeded to kill themself on hook and by the time I got to the vessel couldn't break it.

Another event catered to survivors, cause honestly what do we get from playing killer? they get firecrackers and more points we get 20 points a match if we don't break a vessel but manage to hook everyone a few times over, my rough average is around the 20 anyways without vessel breaking as killer as survivor don't really gotta survive and still get 45.

I was also thinking that Survivors are the only ones who get extra Event items as well, I kind of wish we Killers could get something too. Maybe an add-on that's only available during this time to make everything even more special?

But yeah, the time is too short and the points are too small, my lobby times are super long as Survivor so I might as well play Killer but it'll be a grind.

Yeah :( it's not fair, especially for PS4 Users like myself, the Survivor lobbies ae 15 minutes or more.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:
I am not even wondering why a Killer Main is complaining.

Well, tbh the only thing that should be changed is the time to destroy a Vessel, it is indeed quite low after the Unhook. And also the Killer should get the full 6 points for the sacrifice. If some person decides to kill himself on the Hook, resulting in only 1 Hook, the Killer should not be punished by that to only receive 2 Points instead of possible 6.

Other than that, the amount of points for a Killer is quite consistent, where as Survivors need to have one person alive at least escaping with the Vessel (not sure if this really counts, at least it does not count 3 times if 3 Survivors escape with a Vessel) and escape in general for a huge amount of points. If a survivor dies with 4 Gens left, he gets exactly 4 points for the Generator.
While the optimal result of Survivors is quite high, it is not reached in that many games, while the result of the Killer has quite a low span between the possible results.

    I'm not a Killer main

  • I like beig the villain, I enjoy the satisfaction of domination and terror. Devour Hope is my favorrite perk because of this, that surprise they get when they go down in one hit, that terror they feel when I get 5 tokens and shove my blade deep inside, it's awesome :)

And who doesn't laugh when you get idiots swarming the hook against a Leatherface XD

  • I'mma be trying a new build I've been trying to come up with hopefully soon. A Basement Pig build <3

I'm thinking Tampered Timer and Rules 2
Iron Grasp, Agitation, Mad Grit(PUNISH THEIR ALTRUSISM), maybe Devour Hope or Territorial.

The idea is that hopefully their trap will acivate in the Basement so they'll have a teensy bi9t less time to search for boxes. Don't know if it'll work but I hope it does, I still need Iron Grasp so I can't test it yet.

I love Pig <3 so glad I started playing as Amanda, she's so rewarding.

Yeah this event is total hogwash. Pandered to the survivor side. Tried to play survivor but q times to long on ps4. It's about a joke to use offering as killer especially when it takes forever to break a vial and then it's not even worth the blood points. At rank one and swf will finish this event in no time.

I also noticed that the time that the Vessels stay corrupted af they get unhooked seems too small. It looks like 2-3seconds maybe? I was spectating and it went back to normal really fast after the unhook, SWF can abuse the ######### out of that never let aKiller break a Vessel; until the very end if they gt everyone of course.

  • @ShyN3ko said:
And survivor need only 2 offering for 4 vessels.
Killer need all 5 offering for 45 points.

Right there, the Killer points are too dependant on the Survivors throwing down Envelopes.

  • Your post is very confusing, so are you saying the Killer add-ons that cause Exhaustion wear-off while running? For Survivors, that's a good thing but it defeats the purpose, it needs to only wear-off while walking like normal Exhaustion is now.

If that's not what you're talking about then maybe you should edit your post some more because I think you accidentally put ''isn't'' in places of ''is''.

I think a few streams ago the Devs said something about this, like maybe they had something planned? Maybe Disconnecting on purpose shouldn't derank you? Losing Rank isn't punishment if they want that.

They say stuff all the time, secondary objectives, DS, SC, hatch..... just to name a few prominent examples

My gosh it's NOT HARD to place boxes! One Box right outside the Mine, 1 box at the water tower, 1 box in the shack, and 1 box next to a tree at the edge of the map on that same side, with Jigsaw's sketch you can put 1 in the middle of the map. That's evenly spread out 5 boxes.

The procedurally generated maps are not too different, just find specific places that don't change too much and have boxes spawn in those kinds of areas, hell that's not even necessary, just spread them out with a minimum distance like the damn hooks but have that distance HUGE. Damn people, why is it so hard to put a box far from another box and why do totems spawn next to Gens, I got more pissed off at this than I thought I would.

The only problem with that is that they want the positions of the boxes to be somewhat random. Having them be in the same spot (or tile) every single time on a map removes a lot of the hectic tension, and makes Rule set no 2 completely useless.

That said, if they used that as an opportunity to make rule set no 2 baseline and changed that addon to something else instead, I dont think a single Amanda would complain...

My locations were basically logical spread out locations the system could have chosen but instead it chose something incredibly stupid, referring to the picture in the OP. Random can be effective if certain criteria is put into it. And would love Rules no2 to be basekit, my gosh why isn't it? There is nothing about it that deserves it's Ultra Rare quality. In fact it's tortuorus that it's an add-on Pig would be arguably fine if it was base kit because then we wouldn't have to worry about traps being taken off before they're active which defeats the purpose of the trap.

As for your idea I would love some kind of feature like this. Maybe some sort of passageways killers and survivors could use, but certain killers can make it a dangerous experience?

I got over that fear XD i'll be here till i'm sent away.

  • This is cool and helps with Bloodwarden but I don't think Killer perk should effect Survivor BP in any way, Survivor perks could do the same in the future.

  • Besides new game modes I want more things in the map to interact with, doors, traps, hidden passages. The maps are all about hiding and running but no exploration or secrets, no traps for the Killer or traps for the Survivors like a gas room to slow them down or bridges that extend or retrack etc.

I would love to see some cross platform progression. One of the reasons I don't play on PS4 so much is because all my progress is on PC, and it feels weird going back to having almost nothing. It would be neat if I could jump between platforms whenever I want and have all the progress shared, and it would also be pretty nice for people who decide to switch to another platform later on (e.g. switching from consoles to PC so you can play PTBs).

And this is why I don't play PC because I'm on PS4 lol regaining months of lost progression.

I think having more things to interact with in the maps would be cool, not just for a certain killer though. Anyone can use a trap door, in The Game the Gens actually open doors, what if we actually had switches and traps that were normally in maps that we could interact with? They would have to be on a timer though to prevent toxic ass hats from abusing them.

Yeah, this should have happened long time ago.

Both sides need more interactions with the maps and default non killer specific traps would be great imo. Also, messing with this system, we could actually create a great balance too.

Like nurse would have 1 or 2 traps while leatherface has 10-12.

I think that the match duration should be increased and both sides should have more tools to use. The game would really be enjoyable.

This is coming up year 4 right? This is such a simple game I'm actually surprised they have taken this long to implement new base mechanics. Only now are they experimenting with new Objectives but the core game is soo simple. Some map based mechanics like these would be a welcome change. Hell opening doors with buttons and turning on gas traps would be cool.

  • I actually made an Obsession perk just like your Unrelenting change, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought about increasing Lunges, yours is better.

Monstrous Shrine, it might still be too powerful, I think the current percentages we have now make it take 3 seconds off tthe timer, which isn't much but important. I think any changes to the time on this perk make it too powerful, but then again it is only in the Basement so maybe that's ok?

Your Insidious change is interesting, and would go well with Make Your Choice. I have always said this perk cannot be tweaked to be good because of it's very nature and that it needs an all new ability but maybe I'm wrong because this is cool. It's not a camping perk but it's still relating to the hook and the terror radius.

I also thought that Deerstalker had a weird ability, your change would be nice to have, I often lose people because they sneak away, Prestige 3 Claudettes can't hide from me now ;)

I'm interested in what other changes you can come up with for other perks, a lot of people want Thanatophobia buffed. Also Space Coconut on Youtube has Perk Study videos you might want to check out, he discusses a lot of these perks and ways to fix them so you dissect them too and get more ideas for yourself :)

  • A leatherface in a Basement solves most SWF issues.

  • I did catch myself trying to look when I was being carried the first time lol She looks awesome <3 I was like ''hell yeah lets go to the Basement!''

  • Prove-Thyself is super fast with a toolbox but, without Prove-Thyself the Gens are actually a teensy bit slower than they were before this patch because everyone gets a -10% efficency when they group up. Unless we already had the -10 and they didn't add in the red bar letting us know about it.

But I do wish we had more Obsession perks because it's one-sided, if the Survivor has an Obsession perk it's 99% D-Strike

Yes please! You are completely right.

I don't know how people would perceive it (probably negatively), but it could be possible to turn current perks like sprintburst into obsession perks to balance things out. Something as simple as increasing the exhaustion timer for non-obsessions etc.
Since people don't like nerfs the safest way would just be to introduce them as new perks.

Regardless new obsession perks are really needed!

Ah thanks man, when I saw you reply I was thinking my idea is either absolute crap or perfect lol

An Obsession based Sprint Burst wuld be cool tbh, it would go well with Play With Your Food.

  • Back to the issue and ignoriing the confusion.

Yeah Leader doesd a better job than Wake Up because the percentage on Wake up is too small, I think the Gate Opening aspect should be removed since it makes this perk redundant. Yeah I can use Wake Up and open it fast but I could use Leader and follow someone else to open te Gate. Both of these are situational of course but the fact is the same, Leader makes Wake Up bleh.

  • @AlwaysInAGoodShape said:

Unless im to innocent to see the faults of this?

If they had 2 totems then there wouldn't be enough if you ran 3 or more hex perks.

We do know that the Draw-A-Line to check if a hex totem spawns in the FOV doesn't really work as you'll still be able to walk right into in.

Truetalent made a statement about it:

Someone's complaint about token based hex perks softly suggested that a Hex Perk should only become a Hex the moment it has started to take effect.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/283400/p1

What could be a solution for the Hex Perk problem is to make them all work like NOED. They only become a Hex the moment they start taking effect. That's when they'll be bound to a dull totem if there is still one on the map.

-Hex Ruin would only turn on the moment someone gets their first skillcheck.
-Hex Lullaby would only turn on when someone gets a skillcheck after the first hook etc.
-Hex: Devour Hope would only turn on the moment you first get your movement speed bonues (or in lower tiers the moment you first insta-down someone. Tier issue is a separate issue with Hex: DH)

This would mean that every Hex perk would at least be able to minimal value before being destroyed and that at the start or the first few seconds, you'll rarely ever encounter a Hex totem.
Even in the case of Ruin in the worst possible scenario spawning right next to a Gen and getting your skillcheck the first 5 seconds, will you less frequently encounter a Hex totem then with the system the devs are working on.

That's just my 2 cents on the perk issue.

This could work, this runs the risk of Survivors searching for totems before doing Gens making your totem worthless. But then again if they spend the beginning of the match searching for totems until they break all 5 then they aren't doing Gens and it still served it's purpose because it slowed the game down.

I don't love the idea that yet another Japanese woman is thrown into a school girl outfit, but I guess they have school girl outfits for ALL the female survivors, so it's not really a targeted thing. But still.

What I'm saying is that we need shirtless Dwight next.

Well she IS a college student in her backstory so it does fit her character.
