I check my perks to see if I can come up with a new build. Then I get a drink because all the salt gets me thirsty

It could potentially generate a LOT of money and new players to the game. Also I love your hook idea, he could flip a switch and the hook could fall down before raising the Survivor up.Anyway what would his power even be? In my opinion he looks like he would be a rush Killer like Legion who rushes forward, screaming and swinging his blade wildly. Also since he's short he would have to crawl under pallets. But then he's exactly like Legion, I'm not trying to turn him into Legion but from the movies that's basically all he does.
I haven't seen the new film so I don't know if he can transfer his AI from one doll to another but maybe there could multiple Chucky dolls around the map and you can switch between them? Add-ons could be alerts when someone goes near one, these would be great at leaving them by Gens or windows etc.Omg LOL NOED Chucky with a doll at both Exits XD
The only thing we've seen him do in the trailers is stand still and scan Andy with a red facial recognition scanner thing.

I'm imagining him like Legion as well.
Can't destroy pallets so quickly slides under/slowly climbs windows. Is small but fastest base speed killer yet like 4.8.
Bad vision due to height...
But takes 3/4 M1s to down because he's small and weak?
He could have a stealth power...Throw dolls around the map and give him a play as doll button? Let him hide in lockers with dolls in every locker by default?
I think him being so short is all he needs to be a stealth Killer, it would be like Pig creeping up on you except with a terror radius which is pretty creepy because you know the Killer is nearby but don't see anyone. Having a normal 2 hits is ok because he's slashing the Survivors legs which would cause anyone to fall down. I'm certain he would have an Obsession perk.

You can pretty much use anything on Clown, his power is very simple but effective, at one point I got so good at him that I only used perks for BP and stopped using add-ons because I didn't need them. At my peak I was using BBQ & Chili, Distressing, Thrill of The Hunt, and then usually Sloppy Butcher because it wasted their time.
Clown is a 1v1 Killer so using a brute force build would be your general build, Spirit Fury, Enduring, Bamboozle, and then whatever you feel like. This build would ensure that if you don't do well with your bottles and catch them before they throw the pallet down you can be forgiven by Enduring and Spirit Fury. And when you got loops you can make it much easier with Bamboozle.
Distressing, Sloppy Butcher, Coulrophobia, and either Unnerving Presence or Nurse's Calling, you can slow down healing by a ######### ton and then if you catch someone out because of Nurse's or Unnerving you can catch them quick with your bottles.
-
I can rarely use this perk, I can never find the person who did the unhooking. The only times I can get this to work is if I am doing a Basement build so for me the cooldown has no effect.
But for others I can imagine that if you are exceptionally good at tracking and hook people constantly then yeah just get tier 1. If you feel you can sacrifice the extra 20 seconds for a better cooldown then go for it, it all depends on how good you are at that point.
-
AS SURVIVOR
I hate it when I unhook someone or find someone injured and they refuse to let me heal them, insted they heal themselves with Self-Care which is ######### slower than me healing you. I get that I can do a Gen while you waste your own time but that's not valauable for the team.
I hate it when I get hooked and almost but mostly I just die because no one comes to get me, or someone does come to get me but are extremely slow because they don't want to waste their precious Sprint Burst. ######### is a good reason to use Sprint Burst if not to make a save halfway across the map?!
I really hate being abandoned to die when I did most of the Gens and got Ruin, thanks everyone you f#cking suck.
AS KILLER
This isn't really a complaint but you guys need to get better as distracting. If it's obvious you're distracting me then I won't pay attention to you, all your friends will die while you watch laying on the floor bleeding out.

BlOOD SPORT
KILLERS: Whenever a Killer hooks a Survivor the blood from that Survivor pours into a funnel below them and feeds into a fountain somewhere on the map. A set amount of blood is poured in perk hook so the time a Survivor is on the hook makes no difference. Every 3 hooks the fountain fills up and must be emptied, if it is not emptied and you hook another Survivor then their blood is excess and pours out of the fountain. Emptying the fountain rewards the Killer with Bonus Bloodpoints, emptying a full fountain also imbues them with faster movement speed and causes your hits to inflict the Broken status effect which lasts 30 seconds.
SURVIVORS: Boxes similar to Jigsaw boxes appear around the map, sacrifing blood to it rewards you with Bonus Bloodpoints and fills up the Blood Vats, Survivors can only activate 2 Boxes each. When all the Gens are completed and you open the Exit Gate, as you run towards freedom the Blood Vats empty and shower Survivors with their sacrificed blood which is imbued with power and rewards even more Bloodpoints. The Killer can also benefit from this Blood Shower.
Cosmetic Currency is tracked by the amount of Blood is in your personal Blood Bucket, 3 Buckets for a full outfit. The cosmetics would obviously be blood themed so they would be alternate versions of Prestige outfits but noticeably different than Prestige.

Did you mean ''inevitable''?
This sounds interesting, especially for the Red Glow, you can play better mindgames with Survivors with this. My concern is that this could be too powerful on Freddy since the Dreamworld is monochrome, the Survivors might not be able to see anything at all. Also I think the Killer needs some form of confirmation that the Survivor tyhey are chasing is under the effect, maybe the Perk icon turns on?

Wait what was this "glimpse" you speak of?In the last PTB where we saw the proposed Legion changes they acci8dentally slipped their possible new mechanic for Freddy. When he activated his power to Transition someone he walked slower. Not slower after he activated his power but slower when you hold the button to Transition. In the Devs stream after that PTB came out they confirmed that that was accident and it was from their Rework for Freddy.

Freddy only needs two changes, one necessary and the other one would make things more interesting. The first change should be Survivors being put into a dream state should be unable to perform any action, or at least have their current action cancelled. I don't mean vault or pallet throws, but gen repairs or totems. This would help Freddy be able to defend his gens and totems better.
A second change that would make things interesting is the removal of random pallets and vaults in the dream world, showing Freddy's reality warping abilities.
I don't like straight up removing pallets and windows but I think having a different set of pallets and windows in Dreamworld compared to real world would be cool. The only way to do it is that the pallets and windows are always there but based on color coding they appear/disappear to Survivors when they are in the Dreamworld and can only interact with pallets/windows that are in whatever world they are in.
For example, Quentin runs down a hallway with a window on his right when he's awake, when he is in the Dreamworld that window is now on his left, but to Freddy both windows are there but color coded so he can differentiate which one is which. Also I think it would be awesome for Freddy to use both windows.

Freddy is by far the worst killer in Dead by Daylight. The only real purpose of his power is to remove the hindrance he has by default (can't interact with survivors), and he gets cucked by the most used perks in the game (Self care, Sprint burst and Adrenaline). He's the only killer that has to give a up to 9.5 seconds head start to his targets, who can, by the way, keep doing whatever they were doing right in his face without him being able to do anything about it. He's even less than your regular M1 killer (like the Doctor or the Trapper). He has a laughable stealth and the most basic-ass offense you can think of, that pretty much only kinda works if the survivors ignore him during the transition. He's so bad that he can't even camp. He has no way to stop/punish hookrushing, bad positioning or stupid plays by survivors in general. Killers win if the survivors play non-optimally or if they make silly mistakes, and Freddy is the only killer that can't capitalize on said mistakes. No matter how you "mindgame" survivors, you still have to wait 7 seconds to hit them. If a survivor is anything but braindead, they will run to the nearest pallet/loop, and proceed to stall you until you either get frustrated and give up or 5 generators get completed and they Adrenaline to an exit gate.
Every other killer is far better than Freddy, because they don't take nearly as [BAD WORD] long to take action against survivors.
So yes. He does need a rework. Sadly, though, it's not happening.I make sure I Mori Quentin every time I see him in my lobby when I'm Freddy.
-
I like that you are finding more ways to bring in your system. Both the Survivors and Killers are equally buffed in the areas they need most and those buffs are either time limit based or taken/given away. The Wafee in particular when it comes to the hatch instantly solves that problem. It forces you to do Gens but also gives you a super boost so it's insanely faster, and not all Killers can watch both Exits so the Survivor still as a chance if they aren't stupid.
I don't know if the Devs have seen any of your ideas but they are incredibly well thought out and fix lots of problems. I still think you should find a team and make a game yourself though.

Not everyone wants the rework.the vast majority do want the rework and that is why they are doing it though.
I don't see a vast majority. Quite a lot of threads pop up explaining how Freddy is actually good and a lot of people jump in to agree. I personally know many people who don't think he needs a rework. It's only a very loud and obnoxious minority who is demanding a rework without actually learning to play Freddy. Besides, even if Freddy was weak, it doesn't necessarily means he needs a rework - just a buff, and a lot of people hold that position as well. I'm okay with the devs being vague about the rework because it probably means it's never going to happen.
I don't feel he needs the rework, just some simple tweaks and in all honesty the tweaks I want probably won't even be in the rework.
I love his abilities, it doesn't match his character in the very leastbit but he is fun and has huge snowball potential. But I don't like that he can't defend himself, he has great offense and map pressure but no defense. He can't defend his hook and if the Exit gates are open then everyone just gets out like that, super easy because it taskes 7 seconds to transition, you're being slowed and then if you get the hit and they're healed well they're through the gate. If they're injured then everyone bodyblocks with heals and they crawl out the gate. Other Killers don't have that problem and like I said, the rework probably won't fix that.
I agree, his defense is pretty bad. But that's another thing that makes his playstyle different and unique. When the the exit gates are powered he is indeed in a bad spot, but you can prevent the exit gates being opened by using one of his perks, or you can prevent the gates from being powered all together by slowing the game down to 0 progress on gens. He is also weak in hatch situations, but you can always slug for a 4k, the slugged guy isn't going to go anywhere anyway.
I guess his ability doesn't match Freddy's powers in movies exactly, but the idea is the same. He kills people while they're asleep. Implementing all kinds of crazy stuff happening in dream world would be pretty difficult and unnecessary.
I don't have the perks anymore but when I was actively playing him I was super powerful and dirty. I would use Remember Me, Knockout, Sloppy Butcher, and Thanatophobia. I would slug the Obsession and move on to the next Survivor and hook them and repeat. He has a bad rep and I think that combined with his defence is why no one knows how to use him effectively and cry for that rework. I wasn't around when he first came out but I saw how powerful he was before they made him slow during transition and yeah it weakened him but I don't see how that made him ''impossible'' and the ''worst killer''.

Alright. So buffing the perk;As @Peanits mentioned, there might be problems when increasing the chance by too much.
What about buffing this perk in such a way that skillchecks never decrease healing, but instead only give 10% per token up to 50% as usual?
Meaning that picking the perk cannot be a net disbenefit and also doesn't bother your teammates? So every skillcheck, if you get one, increases it's power/speed. I don't use Botany Knowledge so I don't know what the cercentage is on that but for people to even want to use this over that then Auto would have to be different but still powerful. Your version is basically a perk that eventually gets to Botany's strength and maybe goes past it?
-
I don't think this would fit the game properly. The whole point of the Exit is that it is a beacon of Hope, which the Entity feeds off of, and making it take longer to open the Exit could actually make it harder and maybe even impossible so you become Hopeless.
If the Exits need Cables I'm assuming you could connect them before or after the Gen is done but then the game switches to the Cables, Gens, and the Exit. Sur you got all the Gens done but only 2 cables is on one Exit and only 1 is on the other and they're only 3 of you, garuntee at least 1 more Survivor will die and another MIGHT escape; especially if everyone is Solo.
I think focusing new Objectives for the Gens would be better or, switch out the Gens for an entirely NEW Objective and each match switches between fixing Gens and fixing ???
-
@Peanits said:
Sounds interesting, but I'm not sure how effective that would be. Assuming the generator completed is really far away from either gate, say it takes 20 seconds to sprint over there with the cable. That's just one less survivor on generators for 20 seconds. A coordinated group would still have three others working on generators. If you look at it purely from the aspect of one survivor per generator (most efficient way, currently), that brings the time from 80 seconds each generator to 100 seconds, and that's being generous and assuming every generator is pretty far from either gate.I also think this might be a little confusing. How would you be able to track which generators are attached to which gates without having a cluttered and overwhelming HUD?
When I read this I was thinking the cables were allready at the Exit and they had to spend time plugging them in, which could actually make the game harder lol.
-
This would be nice, I rarely get 3 tokens and I prefer this over Botany because it's so different.
-
I liked the idea of the Lanterns, but they couldn have been implemented better, it really sucks that you have no idea where they are and you don't have long to search for them, no time at all if the Survivor dies.
This whole event I played more Survivor than I do Killer because it was more rewarding and fun, no DCs when I'm Survivor, actually get points for Coins, etc.
I am really excited for it to be over, I also hope that the ''new objectives'' they spoke about in past streams is not only for these Events, I would love for something new and refreshing like these Objectives to be in the normal game.
-
I haven't gotten this one yet, I saw it happen to Tru3Talent, his victory laugh was orgasmic when he finally got her. I was hoping this wasn't a thing that could happen all that much but I guess it eventually will. I'm glad you eventually got her.
-
I usually have ######### teammates who make unsafe saves or no saves at all or feel that their Sprint Burst is WAY MORE IMPORTANT than saving me so they crouch slowly towards me, Hag or not.
I am a stealth player and a Runner, if I get chased I will make it my duty to distract and take that Killer far away for as long as possible and no Gens will get done. When I am being stealthy I hide, do several Gens, and the moment I actively try to save I get hooked and left behind to die. I hate Survivors, it is so hard for me to care about others when they're just #########, it's rare when I find another Survivor who is actually good and knows what they're doing, even rarer when I find someone like that ISN'T toxic.
So yeah, I find lots of terrified Survivors who are too stealthy and ruin the game for everyone, mostly me but everyone.

Pop goes the weasel instantly removes 25% so would a perk that (just an example) doubles the regress speed be worth taking? It would still be susceptible to tapping the gen. Not saying it couldn't be a perk just not sure I see a place for it on a personal level.
Pop Goes The Weasel doesn't get a whole lot of use from me because I only get 30 seconds to use it and if I find a Gen that REALLY needs that 25% I might not have it even activated so I give it a normal tap. If I had one that doubled regression I wouldn't have that problem and would prefer it more myself. I've been using Surveillance a lot and this would go great with that.

I really want a Basement themed Killer, power or perks revolve around that. Or someone that uses lockers to teleport, that would be awesome.
-
I think Broken is better than Blindness, not sure how Blindness is going to help Legion in this scenario. Other than that, I think this is awesome, so much better than most suggestions put out there, especially like the speed boost post FF because both Wraith & Spirit get it. I would really enjoy playing this, I already enjoy playing as Legion but this would increase his viability

If killers would actually become fed up by this behaviour, then the devs would need to take action. sadly there are still enough people willing to go through this.
Why not grab a few games on the steam sale and take a break? Thats what Ive done, lets see what the devs will do until dedicated servers arrive

He's not boring for everyone, at least not me. I like his adrenaline fueled bursts of speed, the bleed out mechanic, and the constant stabs, it's fun. The only problem is when you don't use his power to down people, you need to, always use his power. Of course there are situations where you don't NEED it but then later you realize you would have been better off if you did.
I would say choose Legion if your playstyle revolves around multitasking, Legion is great at spreading your focus and not forcing yourself to stick to one Survivor.
Clown is the best at anti-loops, Survivors looping you like crazy, use Clown to close the distance and laugh at them when they fall to the ground

I don't play Hag very much but I know @SpaceCoconut can give you the rundown and reasons why to play her

I used to Main Freddy and I'm waiting for the rework, now I'm focusing on Pig and a teensy bit of Legion, but mostly Pig; also great at juggling Survivors.

Completely agree. I am new, so I am playing at lower ranks, and even down here you see this crap. A few matches ago, I got an early kill, and as soon as the first survivor died, the 3 others all disconnected. Was literally a match under 3 minutes, because she was hooked, got rescued, I went to hit the person doing the rescuing, hit the one initially hooked--so I just hung her back up, chased the rescuer--and nobody else went for the hooked girl.
So she died an early death, and everyone just left.
Lots of babyragers in this game it seems.
Since you mentioned you were new I'd like to point out that since I made this thread you don't have to quote me, just commenting on here and it'll let me know.
Yeah the lower ranks is much harder for Survivors so they get triggered MUCH faster and do stupid ######### like that. I get lower ranks who DC and i'm ok with that, when 1 person DCs it's funny but when I get matched with a Rank 8 who's a 4man SWF and they all DC then it's a problem.

For a Survivor that would be fun, not for all of them of course. But for Killers it wouldn't be as much fun, searching for Survivors is my biggest problem, that's why I use tracking perks. I enjoy the chase, I wouldn't mind that the chases could potentially be shorter because it was more stealth oriented and my tracking perks would be even more powerful because of it but other Killers enjoy chases a lot more and would get bored real fast with endless searching. A lot of Killers enjoy chases and mindgames, I enjoy beating the Survivors and scaring them.
-
How about a distortion effect similar to Clown's bottles?
-
Clown and David are always challenging eac other in drinking competions, Clown always bellow with laughter when David passes out drunk.
-
The perk sucks, the Exposed needs to be taken out or increased. Once someone uses a locker they won't do it again because they're Exposed and the Exposed is too short then Perk becomes useless.
-
So it sounds like a reward for bad play but ALSO a powerup when you get Genrushed. If you're having a hard time catching and hooking people and the Gens are going by fast you suddenly get the ability to Mori someone and that will slow down the game.
This ability will have no effect if you as the Killer are actually doing a good job, you won't get Rage because you're constantly hooking and kicking Gens, no reason to be angry so no Mori. And this makes the Mori offerings relevant and still makes Rancor useable.
I really like this, this will help out Killers SO much and it willalso let the Killer know who isn't pulling their weight, if they can't Mori a Survivor then they know that Survivor is not doing Gens and they aren't important. I would like this a lot, evn if they don't use it as a core mechanic, imagine this as a perk or a new Killer.

2--Class Photo/Range add-on
3--Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, Bloodhouund, & Remember Me.
4-either a Hook offering or a MacMillan offeringI Prestiged a lot of characters recently so this build was before that happened lol if this happened right now I'd be screwed.
I'm a sadistically lethal Freddy, I'll slug that Claud the whole match and eventually hook her while I'm tormenting her time remnants.
-
This event was another test, another experiment, like the Hallowed Blight Event and how that was an experiment. Their desire to make Events more than just about Gens is good but now they need to fix the competitive nature of the events. They need to NOT BE COMPETITIVE. The competitve nature of the events make them much more difficult and Survivor sided than normal games and that's not fair, that's not asymmetrical..
The idea that a Killer can ONLY destroy a Lantern when someone is hooked and only for 2 seconds after the unhook is not fair for Killers. Even more unfair that it's impossible to destroy a lantern when someone dies. This idea only exists to make it competitive and that makes it one sided. For future events they should be fair towards Survivor AND Killer, no one upping the other, no speciasl hooks, destroyying something etc.
-
First off, honered I got mentioned

So I came up with a thing in a random thread where Blindness was talked about. I mentioned that Blindness should have an aditional effect similar to Clown's bottles where your actual vision was distorted slightly and shakes, on top of the Aura Blindness. The intensity of the distortion and shakes would have to be tweaked because it will be there until the effect wheres off or until the totem is destroyed. Though this doesn't help with Knockout, just with Third Seal and add-ons.
For the Net-Cost Perks, now I get that a general solution is desired so all of them can be fixed at the same time but I don't think it's possible without completely destroying the perk. Those perks have negative effects to counter the super powerful benefits. I think each one needs needs to be looked at individually.
I came up with a Dying Light change: every time the Obsession is hit or hooked the other Survivors recieve a penalty towards their repair, healing etc, and the Obsession is healed/unhooked the penalty goes away. When the Obsession dies the penalty is increased to maximum, I think it's 25% and it's permanent. So Injured is -15% hooked is an additional 5 and then those go down when healed and unhooked then increases to -25 when the Obsession dies. This gives Survivors counter to the perk and also gives the Killer a benefit for the entire match. But that's Dying Light, no idea how to fix Autodidact which I love but can never get enough Skillchecks, or No Mither etc.
I think these are amazing solutions, this is a great thread and hopefully the Devs can get some ideas from this because the community is getting better and better and trying to solve problems. Some of us might might as well get together and make a game ourselves, I'm a writer so I can come up with the story and characters and such

I believe all Killers should be able to compete at all levels, the skill of the player is what gives the win but the Killer needs to be able to keep up with everyone.
An example is that Trapper could start with 2 traps, this way the player can save time and set up traps and then hunt for Survivors while picking up traps, like Hag but different.

I wanted 1 cosmetic out of this and I got it so I don't need to play Survivor for points anymore. This has no effect on me but I agree with everyone here, it's a small step that may or may not work, I'm leaning towards may not.
They just need to stop making these events competitive, these events seperate the community and Survivors abuse the mechanics as much as possible to win and the Killers ALWAYS lose out on points. We have Survivors who run into corners so we can't take them to Event hooks and now we have Survivors who insta-save and steal the lantern the moment it respawns and if someone dies you don't have enough time to get the lantern, it's BS. These events need to change into a balanced fair game so everyone can win, that's not asymmetrical I know but in the events I don't think it should be.
