  • Wow, after reading this I can definitely say that every other solution I have seen is crap. I can also say that anything but something similar to this would be a bad idea. You target the one thing every Survivor subconsciously knows about but might not be fully aware of it, they feel it but might not ever realize it.

I'm sure there are other solutions to fix the problem but the solutions the Devs are giving are simple fixes and not actual reworks of the main problem. You can paint over a crack but the crack is still there and everyone knows about it, that crack will get bigger and bigger until you rip out that damn wall and replace it so the entire building is actually safe.

Has anyone tagged any Devs in this, not just Mods but actual Devs? This is a great idea and can be introduced into the game is small ways without damaging the game before it's finished. I'd tag them but I don't know any Dev tags, just Mods.

  • I can agree that needing to do 1 Gen after hatch is closed can be extremely difficult. You are alone, yes every single Gen is at 0 so you have more choices of Gens to work on but the Killer is searching every single one. If he finds even 1 Gen worked on twice after he kicks it, he knows you're there. That Aura you have in the beginning may be all he needs to catch you.

I made a simpler solution where the hatch is closed or maybe it was always closed, and it needed a key to open it, period. The key would spawn in a random chest, looted or not and you had to find that key and use it on the Hatch. Like your idea I also said that once the Survivor uses the key the Killer does not get the hatch grab animation, it is not allowed and the Survivor is able to just hop in. This makes it like your stealth solution and also need an objective to escape.

  • This would be nice, still in effect after someone dies would be cool too.

Why would I need to explain that there’s nothing wrong with the pig? Her RBTs slow down the game plenty. That’s what they’re for. If you misuse them it’s your own fault.

You said a killer doesn't need a buff when every Pig player says she does. If you want to be taken seriously you need to add a counter instead of just stating an opinion or saying something simple that doesn't even correlate to what people are actually complaining about.

I play plenty of the pig and she’s fine. I don’t need to add anymore to that because I’ve already said what needed to be said about the RBT, and there’s literally nothing else to the pig. They already made here ambush attack better. If you misuse your RBTs it’s your own fault. She doesn’t need a buff.

Any tips you can give to everyone else on how to play Pig? I'm not being sarcastic, we all want to be great players :)

  • He's doing a no perk no add-on challenge, combine that with Rotten Fields, and Doctor the odds were against him.

But yeah, Gen Rush is real, this was Tru3's fault because he had no range add-ons and the misfortune of that completely unexpected pallet stun, ouch. If he didn't get stunned this wouldn't be as bad, still bad but would have gotten a hook sooner.

People can say Gen rushing isn't a thing and can debate about it but the fact is there are MORE opportunities for Survivors to do Gens very fast than there are for combating it. Killers have Ruin, Discordance, and small maps. You can choose to play Killers that combat Gen rush but that's different than the core game.
Survivors have 4 members, Resilience, toolboxes, Prove Thyself, Left Behind, large maps, Great skill checks, and probably some other things I can't remember unless that's it.

There are other Gen Killer perks but those require hunting Survivors beforehand, I'm just talking about getting the Gen done. You cannot say that the odds are in the Killer's favor when it comes to slowing down the Gens, even if you talk about other perks Killers can use because your perks are outnumbered by the 16 perks and items going against you and your 4 carefully selected perks.

  • I didn't know it was changed but damn I can get behind this. The Killers really feel indifferent when they break pallets. I think the only one who looks actually enraged is Myers but only from the Survivors perspective. And mah gaw, look at Wraith's leg.

I've created a new algorithm and written in some more specifics. Tell me what you think!

Ok, I don't know if it was edited or if I did not, in fact, read it the first time lol but I just saw the part about the linked Survivor dying and the trap being taken off. Anyway, the new algorithm looks interesting, so for the more Survivors who are dead the more chance they have at finding the key before the last box. So if you use all 4 traps before anyone dies then they all have a 20% for each box unless they search the last one which is 100% I think it should just be this way all the time and not rely on dead people, just 20% each box.

I personally still don't like this idea though. The timer stops when the linked person is Dying, hooked, or in a chase, like normal but it's not with the person wearing the RBT. So you could stop someone's timer without knowing it making your trap useless without any knowledge. Also the person with the RBT now has more opportunity to do Gens, yeah they have to rely on someone else to save them but if that person dies or is being chased, they're safe, no harm no foul, happy day, so thankful that other guy died I can continue with my life.

If this was an add-on and if the linked person died, that RBT activates and kills them, that would work. Pig won't know who is linked, who can save the people wearing traps, and would never have to tunnel someone wearing a trap. This changes her playstyle to find who is the person who can save this other guy, give her only 1 or 2 traps instead of 4. If the linked person finds the key then awesome, if they don't well that other person dies, if the linked person dies they both die. This is simpler and it's an add-on instead of base allowing more choices in how to play her.

  • You've gotten sufficient evidence back up that it is indeed allowed, there is no logical thing you can say that hasn't already been proved wrong with evidence and logic. If you can't blind a Killer then you're either facing a Killer who knows how to combat Flashlights or you need to get better. Either way, everything has counterplay and dropping a body, looking up, looking at a wall during the pick-up, and anything else is allowed.

Flashlights are strong if used correctly when you fail then you failed and need to time it better. You use the flashlight when they do the Break Pallet animation or when they do the pick-up animation, that is when you use flashlights which require you to stalk the killer or use the pallet properly. But to be honest flashing at a pallet does nothing because you leave scratch marks and slowed yourself down to get a few extra points.

Firecrackers are better than flashlights, use those. I'm not telling how you to use those though.

What is it with people wanting RBT buffs? They are fine just the way they are. They are meant to slow down the game by giving survivors another objective. They are NOT meant to kill.

Bad killers asking for handouts. Learn 2 play. Come at me.

There seems to be an ironic philosophy in DbD that the killer is not meant to kill, only prolong the game to farm score and then have everyone escape.

That was a serious post? I thought that was sarcasm, wow that's screwed up.

  • I always thought that more hooks should have more than one, well hook lol. The Basement is awesome because it's isolated and can fit more than 1 person but the appeal is the whole thing together, not the 4 hooks. I think it's cool to have single hooks and double hooks so it gives the Killer more choice instead of reacting. Because we as Killer DO react and we choose which reaction, you can't really plan things but you can manipulate what the Survivors plan which sucks. This would kind of but not really change that, it would just give us more modifiers to the match which is cool.

I may have missed this part but once you use one of these hooks that cause an effect is that the only time it happens? Like those special hooks are a one time use whether someone was sacrificed on them or not?

  • @not_Queen or @Peanits why is this a thing? The perk meant to make Skill checks harder isn't working a specific Killer, it's a totem and therefore not OP and trumps any argument.

I like the 10% penalty, I came up with something similar. Your idea seems too easy to kill people with the traps, you force people without traps to search boxes therefore tunneling someone searching a box means the Srv with a trap dies when the next Gen pops because they can't search for the key themselves. And if they can search for the key themselves then you have 2 people searching for the key at all times and that makes the trap almost worthless since they aren't wasting enough time.

    1. If you would care to read, when the linked Survivor is being chased, the timer is paused.
    2. Only the linked Survivor can search boxes.
    3. The killer cannot see who is the linked Survivor, only the Survivors can.

I did read it and I'm still right. If someone has a RBT on their head and you somehow accidentally kill the person they are linked to they're screwed and automatically dead because they can't boxes themselves.

Yeah it doesn't, that was one of the first things i tried when pig was released.

So this shouldn't go into Bugs? I was going to try and switch this to Bug reports but if this was intentional that's screwed up. This is a perk meant to help killers and this isn't helping.

I mean It's Behavior. What did you expect? It to be a useful perk that works as intended??

    "lol" XD

  • I enjoy Saboing hooks and I rarely get much trouble from it as Killer. But I never thought as a Survivor that I would get hurt by a dirty saboing Ace. I still think about that ass every time someone mentions buffing Sabotage.

  • I myself struggle, with making perks, rarely do I see fan-made perks that are well recieved but I just want more than 1 person to say they like mine and I'd be happy. But then again Survivors don't like Basement perks so that'll probably never happen XD`

  • @Mockingbird_X said:

But I am confusing, the killer terror radius is never larger than the distance between killer and obsession, let's say the killer with a 32 meters terror radius, and the distance between kill and obsession is 48 meters, is it still 32 meters terror radius or 48 meters?

I've tried to word it the way that the Terror radius maximum range is limited by the distance to the Obsession.
If the normal radius is 32m, and the Obsession is 48m far - the radius is 32m since, but if the obsession is 26m away - the radius is lowered to 26m.
This is a bit of a stealth perk.

Hold on now, lets say you tagged a Survivor and let them go for when you're ready. You chase someone and hook them and then suddenly you get that noise indicator that your viable imposter is ready, bam switch to that Survivor and you're all ready for another chase.

That is exactly the case. However this doesn't mean that every time you'd be in a chase. You'd have to combine the power with aura perks or crowd control to make sure that Survivors are flocking together. Only then Revealing is very beneficial.

Ok that perk makes sense now, so your TR shrinks the closer your Obsession is to you.

So having a large TR would help in herding them together, Sloppy Butcher or Thana to promote groups healing each other.

  • I like the Bloody Chests, I would use that on every Killer just for a chance to get an Ultra rare.

  • The Killer power is simple, too simple for me to have an opinion but, I do love those Survivor perks. I love the theme you have of perks that help in odd situations but have bad side effects, goes great with the Survivor. I love perks that actually match the Survivor's personality, unlike Adam and Jeff's perks.

Also, you may be the only person to ever even suggest an offering for MORE TOTEMS. Why is this not a thing!? Your Hex Totem that replaces a destroyed Hex totem is badass man, combine that with Thrill of The Hunt and it could take ages to destroy your totem. Hell, you could use Haunted Grounds with this and Expose everyone twice, that's magic right there.

  • @Mockingbird_X said:

The problem I had with the power was that it doesn't exactly help you during to catch a survivor

Yes, you are correct. I don't really have a solution to that: even though I added hitting and grabbing a survivor to be another way of gaining intel - the Impostor's power indeed doesn't provide immediate benefits without high skill in crowd control. Maybe this could be remedied by a weak secondary power, but I'm not sure what it might be at the moment.

I might be wrong about this but I think they said the next chapter is a fan created one?

Wow, really? That's something I'd never really expect. I'll research the info, thank you :+1:

This is a situational power of course but it's a powerful one, I would love the ######### out of this Killer, would probably be my newest favorite if it came out. This is beyond beautiful, you took that mimic thing everyone has been wanting and just went all the way with it, thank you for this glorious post I really enjoyed reading it.

Very interesting Killer, she reminds me of Nurse and Hag as they both teleport but this one looks more fancy. So from what I understand the Survivors can see the mimics and you releport to a random Mimic in front of them? That's pretty cool because the Survivor won't know which one you're going to so they won't know where to run. I can see some fun mind games with this power at pallets.

I kind of don't understand her first Ultra and the injured Survivor though, does it make it where she can't attack injured people?

The Survivor perks are cool too, you already got some really good criticism so I don't have any negative things to add. This is really creative and I wouldn't play most fan killers on this website but I would play this.

Thanks. Survivors can see the mimics but they spawn at random position and have distance from a survivor.
But Mirage have red light and terror radius, mimics could have too if you use addon.

The first ultra addon is work on mimics, allow mimics to attack who get close, surprise them and injure them. But it won't down any survivor who is already injured.

So survivor should keep distance to mimics, but the fact is survivor can vanish the mimics by touching them if Mirage doesn't bring ultra or rare add-on. (I would adjust ultra one, mimic would vanish after attack.)

Mirage is a talented actress, no matter before she dies or after. Her addons allow her to be different style every game. Just wanna make her interesting, not the powerful one. :chuffed:

    And a big thanks.

Ok now she sounds even better, I love her :)

  • When I saw the title I was thinking that there was NO WAY you could come up with a power for the Look-See, I was wrong.

That being said I think the time and percentages need to be tweaked to be more powerful. His power is basically totems, I think the 1% is fine but maybe it should be 1% every 5 seconds? And the Exposed status is a bit sooner because this is kind of like Pig, the Survivors are distracted with looking for their Memento and not doing Gens. Maybe Look-See should have a secondary power?

Anyway this is damn impressive and even though we may never get this character in the game, having something just like this would be awesome. I need to watch those episodes again.

All information about the event here:

Interesting, it sounds pretty Killer sided this time, it's a race to the vessel, gonna be pretty difficult and I am intrigued. Thanks for the info.

  • This wouldn't be bad if you KNEW you were going there. If you had Bloodhound the corn would no problem at all because tracking is the biggest issue, that and the Gens being so far from each other.

I've had good Trapper games here but crap on everyone else. As for Legion I've had no problem here because of his natural tracking ability.

  • I took pictures of Survivors laying dead next to husks with RBT on them, it was beautiful.

  • I am thankful that the Killers don't need hooks this time, every even those damn Survivors run as far from them as possible so you can't get them. They run into a corner and force you to use a normal hook or go after someone else, it's disgusting. So this time I am very happy to see it isn't the case this time, don't know exactly what it is we are doing but I know we're destroying something.

Also did you say that the husks or whatever don't give points but only count towards the coins? If that is the case it won't nearly be as greedy as Hollowed was.

  • The buff they made to Legion in the PTB was cancelled so it won't be in the newest patch.

  • I'm hoping we get new story content, the stories for Hallowed Blight were great at first but fizzled out in the middle and ended poorly. It was leading up to something cool then it went to nope never mind. What's up with that? I hope this Moonrise has a thing like that but given to a writer who actually writes. I'm for hire Behavior :)

    Amanda's letter, it's a trash.
Losing RBTs and the reduction of the amount of jigsaw boxes are an excesive handicap.

The handicap makes no sense either. You lose 3 traps & 2 boxes, so it's easier for them to get out of the 1 trap yo have in exchange for 12m x-ray vision when crouched. The trade off is not worth it. If the Ambush charge took longer but became an instadown then that's worth an Ultra-rare with fewer traps.

Use the frenzy against Legion. Fake vaults is big. Btw the time they realize they been faked, you gone in other direction. On console, 360 the ######### out of Legion. Smart play, knowing when and if to heal(you really shouldnt). And for the love of god, juke. I have raked up so many kills as Legion(honestly all killers) because survivors go potato and decide to run in a straight line.

You on PS4? Your name looks familiar. I get juked hard as Legion more than anyone because of the FF. I really need to learn how to anti-juke.

  • There are so many things I wish I could test to see if it could work but we don't control the PTBs. If they gave us a way to create our own test builds that would be cool, I don't know how they would manage it though.

But... That Legion was so bad... It's really not the killer, it's the player.

It was the player, my arguement is there is no counterplay not that Legion is weak. That particular Legion got everyone else faster than they got me so I was just more experienced than this one. If I was playing Legion and had trouble with someone like this I would switch targets.

Best counter to legion is intelligence.

As long as I see people healing up against a Sloppy Butcher / Thanatophobia Legion even in Rank 1 I am not surprised at all that people struggle against them. Time-efficiency is what makes you win against ALL Killers.

Wasting time healing up for 32+ seconds only to have them getting injured again 5 seconds later is NOT time-efficient. That's what makes you lose.

    ^ This.
Resilience and Adrenaline are the way to go when playing with friends. Not wasting time on healing is what makes the genrush real.

Every time I go against Legion I have teammates constantly begging for heals and I'm like ''NO, DO THE GEN!!'' I love Resiliance and if it wasn't for other Survivors constantly trying to heal me I would run it. I need to get No Mither and Iron Will on my Nea.

  • I don't understand your totem, how can you see Auras every 60 sec for 20 sec? Shouldn't it be every 20 sec for 60 sec? Then you would see their Aura 3 times.

Your last perk is a camping perk because it is Within, 25 meters. Most perks say outside of 24 or 32. Maybe switch that and then you can use it with Make Your Choice which I personally would enjoy.

Eveerything else looks great though, at first his power could seem OP but then I just reminded myself how long it took the Killer to upgrade his power. You have to constantly be hitting people and therefore hooking people so by the time you get rank 3 for the weapon upgrade everyone is already on their last hook. But I still think the Instadown should be on a timer, Myers has a timer and Devour Hope is a totem so if every Gen is complete and you have the 3rd weapon upgrade you basically have the original NOED which every Survivor sacrificed their entire family to make that a totem.

Other than that I lo9ve this idea :)

  • Frank's Mixtape makes Legion an actual threat and doesn't make him OP, his lack of counterplay makes him OP with that add-on. Without the add-on he is weak but annoying because of no counterplay.

But with that said, I really enjoy playing Legion. I love the play style of attacking multiple people and having them bleedout, the FF is really cool and feels powerful. But of course in reality it isn't powerful so Legion is a strange character.

  • Having actual distorted vision and the normal Blindness would be stronger. Blindness for Solo players, the distorted vision for SWF.

  • @Master said:

So I've said this in a few threads now, the only counter to Legion is distracting them long enough for your Team to do Gens so you can get out of there. You will go down but how long it takes is what matters. The longer you loop Legion the more time your team has for Gens. That's the only counter. Here's an example of me doing just this, my chase was about 4 minutes long, except I had a really bad team so it was for nothing.

So anyone care to brag about your longest Legion chase? And this is why Legion needs more than just a tweak.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkINNCO6d1A&feature=youtu.be

What is the purpose of this thread?
You say that you were able to loop him for 4 full minutes, do you want to be able to loop him even longer?

By the way, 4 minutes is enough for 3 survivors to knock out all gens

You watch the video? I had a 4 min chase and only 1 Gen got done so while your statement is true I did say I had a crap team. But my point is to show how there is no real counter to this Killer other than running and looping for as long as possible. Your team doing Gens is the counter and if your team is as a crap as mine then you lose. That's not the way to create counterplay for a killer.

  • The bad thing about your suggestion is that we don't all play just one Killer or Survivor every season. We cherry pick each character whenever we feel like it. My Trapper might get 3 Bloody Coils but I don't use them because I switch to Freddy, hell yeah I got a Z Block, I switch to Clown and I finally Get Redhead's Pinky Finger for the first time but I only have 1 so I'll stockpile it until I get a nice amount and never permanently lose them. Oh no, Rank Reset came and I lost everything I worked so hard to get, screw this game because I can't play the way I want and each level 50 Bloodweb costs approx 50K.

    Also, I like your Nea.

  • Favorite Map--Thompson House
    Best Killer Map--The Game
Worst Map--Rotten Fields(corn vision is a disability, stop picking on the disabled)

  • I didn't know this was a thing because I bought everyone before the store existed.

  • A lot of realism for this character would be too powerful for them. At one point I was thinking, ''what if they got rid of Deep Wounds and he just stabbed with his FF?'' Then he could charge at Srvs and stab them, break FF then eventually charge agaiand down them, like in the PTB.

Then I was thinking what if they made FF not reduce the DW bar with each hit, effectively making it impossible to down someone with DW? Increase his speed to the 115 and he could M1 people only but his power to distract and injure most people. It makes no logical sense that you can't down someone with FF but you can with a normal stab and the power isn't even fun anymore.

  • I can do some nasty stuff to Survivors, the fact he has a natural tracking ability makes things a lot easier. I like to slug the first person I find then hook the 2nd person because it creates pressure.

My nastiest build that barely gets me a pip because I win so fast is
    Thanatophobia,
    Sloppy Butcher
    Bloodhound
    Knockout

I slug the first person in an isolated area then keep hunting and hook the 2nd person. Every time someone gos for an unhook I'm usually there and get both of them in transition. I hook the rescuer and maybe find the one who got rescued and of not I repeat. If someone gets out of the Dream world I can track their blood, if they save their friend on the ground I know where they both are, in short the tracking allows me to be everywhere I need to be.

But even though I dominate I still want the rework because he can't protect his hook, his speed is reduced during a transition and if everyone rushes the hook and I transition everyone I am very slow for a long time, enough time for them to go out the Exit. In the beginning when he came out I don't think the transition made him slow so he could keep up during it and always immediatley land the hit but when they made him slow during the transition it made him weaker for chases.

I don't know what the rework is but I hope it's good, one of them mentioned they would like the amount of people in the Dream world to have his power grow with each person. That sounds cool and if they stick with that then I think he'll go up a tier or two.

1 … 40 41 42 43 44 … 52
