I still think they did this in the wrong order.
They should have introduced incentives to make people actually care about rank first then made the rank changes.
Instead now you're gonna have the people play toxic but still did enough to up pip that eventually attain rank 1 sitting in the purples and greens this is gonna be fun.
-
My advice is play Huntress.
Harder to master her crosshair but at least when you smack them twice they go down without the need for going out of your way to power up and gutting one of the best parts of non powered up (plaguing objects)
-
I tried The Plague last night and wasn't impressed.
She feels like a bad mix of Legion and Huntress.
The puke puts them into broken after 2 hits with a ranged attack similar in hitbox to a hatchet, forcing them to fountain which fully heals them, same as mending with a legion.
Power up is good though right? no not really the killer goes out of their way for something on limited duration that removes their ability to plague objects and make her the same as 0 addon huntress.
She slows down when charging vomit like the huntress and gets slowed down after using it.
I dunno after the feedback i heard she sounded promising but from what im reading now they made a laundry list of changes leaving her mid-tier and that's being generous, may as well play Huntress.
-
Sorry i don't follow your made up rules.
You play how you wanna play and could not give 2 shits about my enjoyment so why should i care about yours?
If i choose to camp/tunnel and actually get kills from it that's on your team not the killer, the survivors control the game, it's a numbers game.
-
NoED is completely trash anyways.
Remove the totems or when it activates leave the game (By the door i mean not ALT+F4)
All the NoED complaints stem from someone getting hit with it, which is unfortunate to be sure but then the remaining survivors NOT getting out the door but instead wandering back in for the unhook and feeding the killer an undeserved 4K.
-
I honestly find barely any stress as survivor at all. i actually enjoy the chase.
As killer it's stressful.
As survivor i run the loops and when i use the pallet i run to my next pallet or vault or sit pressing spacebar on a gen
As killer i have to try and avoid getting smacked with a pallet, try and mindgame/moonwalk, take a risk of swinging at the survivor and getting the hit before he/she drops the pallet, then of course avoiding the flashlight/blocking/more pallets/DS.
All of this on a time limit.
You get the picture.
-
I do dislike that map but i would take it over Coldwind Farm for certain.
Have you thought about taking Bloodhound? that perk can make tracking survivors alot easier on maps with low visibility.
-
You can run from her shes only 110 very easy to loop just don't fall for mindgames, if she stands still across from you at a pallet WALK away from the loop ASAP.
She will either smash the pallet in which case hit that shift or she will swing on a pallet you're no longer standing at.
-
M&A is actually worse unless you are already in a chase and your TR is amplified.
Because you want them to be in your TR to avoid tipping them off with the stealth noise.
Better off just getting yourself some prayer beads.
-
Lemme give you an example of a game i had the other day.
Huntress on Swamp, bad map for her way to big and she's too slow to apply map pressure.
Hatchets are extremely hard to use because they clip with everything on that map.
2 survivors running Sprint Burst torches and DS.
2 on gens.
Clear SWF setup.
Your only option is to try and force the 2 torch users to make a mistake, you can get looped so easily on that map and there's no point in looking for the other two because the second you move to do so the other two will tip them off and they will go and hide miles away.
Now say you force one to make a mistake you either get DS or you get flashlighted in the face, the hooks on that map are miles apart so they don't even need to block to use it.
And since they have 2 gen runners you have 3-4 mins at the most to kill both of the runners, yea not happening.
-

mclean confirmed yesterday on his stream that its intended. DS is not being seen as a stun anymore and thats why enduing will not effect it. RIP balance, zero counterplay to it. enjoy the nice endgame and just take that free escape into your faces killers!
That's not what will happen,
They will run NoED and they will slug you, DS doesn't activate if they don't pick you up and anyone stupid enough to try and save you will get 1 shot.
-
Her kit looks fun as hell to use but the problem is the healing pools.
A full heal is insane.
Currently 3-4 if they remove the full heal 7.
Another killer with a ranged attack is awesome.
-
This is the inherent problem with all Hex perks, the problem lies not just in the spawns but the fact they are destroyed just like every other totem.
If they added a system where they are not as easy to get rid of rather than just trying to make the spanws harder to find and failing at it they might be worth it.
The only Hex perk used is Ruin and NoED to a lesser extent.
Ruin you're lucky you get 1 minute out of but it's needed so you can get your gen patrol started without them popping 2 gens on you in the opening 3 mins.
The other Hex perks are usually gone before you can get any value out of them at all.
-
The terror radius one sounds good on paper but in practice SWF will wreck it.
The one i do like is the one that makes nearby targets scream when another survivor goes down. Pesky flashlighters be gone!

Okay then why nerf DS? Adapt. Why nerf anything? Adapt. That is the shittiest argument and it seems to be very popular in the DbD community.
How can you adapt to something that has no counter?
You get his with the DS, killers time is wasted.
Dribble, killers time is wasted.
It's getting nerfed and deservedly so, There is no "Adapting" to this
In the case of using a torch at a pallet it simply requires different positioning on the part of the survivor it works on all killers, it's just not a one size fits all solution.
-
Saying "A killer would have not got any kills without X perk" is a weird statement.
That's like me saying "That survivor would have never got out if he didn't have Urban to immerse his/her ass to high heaven"
NoED is 100% counterable either be destroying the totems or looping the poor sucker until you get out or the team finds the now lit one.

how is it OP? It literally only extends a chase briefly. There are way more survivor mains than killer mains. 4 survivors vs 1 killer per game. How is killers the CORE base? They are outnumbered. They just keep catering to the whiny ass crybaby butt hurt killers on twitch and reddit and are further killing this game. Not to mention the last DLC was complete trash. I love this game but they are killing it.Because there's an abundance of survivors? regardless of how many survivors there are, without a killer there is NO GAME the queues as survivor are long and killer it's instant so that proves how imbalanced the numbers are at the moment.
So yes the killers are the core.
you CLEARLY don't know what ur talking about, the survivor to killer ratio is 4:1
The timer is complete BS, the having to be hooked first is complete BS.
So you think because the ratio is 4/1 numbers are all that matters in determining balance and core?
That tells me all i need to know, have fun lol
-
So that image highlight the killers addons and 1 perk and just DS on the survivors end?.
No insta med pack, no brand new parts, no purple flashlights, No Discord logo?

Killers tunnel. This is a way to counter it. DS needs a weakspot and a niche instead of a get out of jail free card. This also motivates killers to not tunnel because then survivors will actually be able to use their DS if they do. It's a win win.if you get instantly tunneled off hook and dont move you dont get to use it. even if you make it a little ways they'll just dribble you back
its a lose most of the time, win some perk. They said they wanted to prevent dribbling, so I think the skillcheck happens as you are being picked up. That way you wont get put back on the hook so easily.
oh I didnt see that part! okay that actually helps quite a bit if you do manage to make it away
Yea the SC will appear as he picks you up.
So if you have the skill you will get away but if you miss the tunnel remains.
I like it, punishes the killer for tunnel but the survivors also have pressure on them to hit that SC or they get re-hooked right off.

BBQ has that many ways of avoiding it now that killers only run it for the BP anyways.
If you want tracking my personal Go2 is Bitter Murmur.

Toolboxes? Run ruin.

Deadhard? Wait before swinging
Medkits? As stated, Franklin's Demise. Normal metkits? Sloppy butcher.
DS? Enduring or dribble to the hook.
Not sure how anything you mention is even remotely toxic since these are items in game.
Learn and adapt.
It’s all well and good saying this, except not every player will have all perks unlocked for that level of flexibility. And even if all 4 of these perks are equipped, if the survivors start strategising in an unexpected way making you regret not using an entirely different loadout?
If your not prepared, then dodge the lobby.

And then what? you will be back in here making another post about how it's "Toxic" and "Annoying" that it takes you 10 minutes to get a game because the killers keep dodging.

And people keep using Tru3's videos as an example, hilarious.Just curious as to why using a Tru3 video is a problem?
If you watch the video muted so no commentary is actually heard you still get the gameplay and plenty of killers have had a 1-2 gen chase only to finally catch the person and they DS out with an instamed kit and start the process all over again.
-
This happens on both ends, the survivors do it to the killers when they get outplayed all the time.
-
I get hooked after being chased off a gen, "Hmm where is the other survivor" you then see them leave a locker.
Ohhh cool he's just hiding from BBQ he will come and get me down now "right?" "RIGHT?"
Nope i die and he goes looking for the hatch.
-
Sometimes they don't actually intent to tunnel.
For example, if i were to do a gen lap and find someone that happens to be the obsession i down and hook them.
I go looking for other survivors, they get unhooked and run off.
Sometimes the situation occurs where the other 3 are immersive AF and all you can find is the first dude you hooked, now are you tunnelling? no not really but if you don't slow the game down you will have even less time to find the others so you have to hook the obsession again.

I just finished a game where I had to search around the last 3 min to find the last person. 3 gens to do. They let one guy just die on the first hook and then just hide. They didn't touched any gens. Thanks to surveillance I am 100% sure about that and after finding one guy and slugged him. I searched the map for 2 min until the poor man bleed out on the floor and the other one just hide to get the hatch. Both only played for the hatch.
This isn't funny. Can't there be a mechanic that punishes the survivors when noone is touching a gen for over 2 min?
No. What if you bodyblock them all in the basement. #########.
As in they block an entire team in without swinging for several mins at a time?
That's reportable, it's hostage taking.
Bigger question, why are they all in the basement at the same time anyway?
-
@White_Owl said:
As a killer your survival depends on other three guys that might be literally braindead? No.
NOED rewards you if you fail as killer, the hatch compensates for having a bad team. That team also includes YOU therefore the point still stands.
The Team in which there is no "I" failed to finish 5 gens.
There should not be any of this handholding crap.
The only reason the hatch is even there is because salty survivors would find ways to hide and stall the game just to grief rather than trying to finish gens.

Then the developers complain about DC.
They will ban the DC but they will not do anything to avoid facecamping. A filthy, dirty practice is seen as a strategy.Or give a real chance to get out of the hook in case of facecamping for a certain time or buff the borrowed time. This makes the game stressful
You know what also makes the game stressful getting led around by an SWF team who also burned 2 map offerings to make sure they got the map of their choice.
Oh and you're huntress on Coldwind Farm. Now you know what real stress is.
They created a perk specifically for camping (Insidious) so i doubt they see it as a problem.
the role of the opposite side is not to make your game fun, it's to do their job the most efficiently before the other side has a chance to do theirs.
Both have tools to make the opposite side miserable and it's not a problem that needs addressing.
If you want a game of happy lucky friends where everyone is nice and anyone who doesn't play by some made up rules is punished with a solid flogging or demanding devs to make changes based on imaginary issues should try playing a game that isn't PvP.
"Playing against X is not fun" "This is not fun to play against" is not an argument.
Killer facecamps, you run gens, 3 people get out to 1 death. The killer has lost end of story.
-
Damn fine

-
I wouldn't say misleading it does what it says on the tin.
Useless is a better term.
It did show auras early on but they nerfed the perk no one was really using.
With the exception of billy and the nurse most killers unless they come out the locker in front of the killer won't be able to capitalise on it due to mobility constraints.
And on The Huntress exposed effect does not work on the hatchets and the reload speed increase can't justify a perk slot it's basically an addon.
-
This event was badly designed from the get-go.
To start with the points for killers are not enough.
The reason for camping is because hooking is the most effective way to get points WHILST DOING WHAT A KILLER SHOULD BE DOING! hunting for a lantern similar to totem hunting after hooking someone for the points and completely giving up your map pressure just isn't worth it. Sure you can ignore the lantern unless you happen to stumble upon in it but again that means the killer only gets hook points anyway which isn't enough, plus you can't re-use the same hook twice.
Survivors, get points for escaping and doing gens which is what they do in a normal game.
Sure the lantern glow makes the job slightly harder but the fundamentals are the same.
Long story short the lantern should drop at the hook then re-spawn after the killer destroys it not teleport back right off the bat or make special event hooks reward bonus points for the hook.
-
The whole point of getting both is to encourage playing of both sides.
The game isn't designed to "main" a side.
"maining" is reason there are so many whine posts about things that are not even that much of a problem like camping. But since they never see it from the others perspective it just results in a flame war.
-
Camping is a survivor made problem, Tunnelling is taking a survivor out as quickly as possible hampering the chances of survivors success.
Your plan rewards poor play from the survivors. and free unhooks unless the killer manages to hook everyone at once.
It would also encourage slugging, no doubt there would be whine posts about that in 5 mins.
Not to mention every killer would just run Iron Grasp and Agitation and basement everyone.
Sorry but the game is already SWF favoured i really don't see what further killer nerfs will do except push more and more people away from killer and queues are long enough as it is.
-
I personally think Lullaby should be a Hex but not in the traditional sense.
I think they should make it like NoED, it's only disabled once ALL non lit totems are gone.
Most games you won't get 5 hooks and cleansing dull totems is not a hard task but it would give lullaby more value. The only people i see using it in it's current state is Baby huntresses that have nothing better or Skillcheck docs.

Personally i see nothing wrong with dodging until dedicated servers come in.Right now there is Zero ping checks before joining, think a killer wants to play against a team of survivors with 300+ ping? no thanks.
Dedicated servers actually have no impact on the matchmakign at all.
If im not allowed to dodge the toxic squads in lobby anymore, then I will simply DC ingame. Thats fine for me
Yes they would, because dedicated servers would allow the game to sort people by region which in turn would increase the likelihood you get a game with pings similar to your own, which they can't now because the killer is the host.
What?
Dedicated servers have nothing to do with matchmaking. In fact you can sort people by region and then let them play a peer to peer game too, but we dont have enough players for that I guess. My point is right now they DON'T do that and right now there are 25k players right now playing this game it's peak today so far was 27k the amount of players has nothing to do with it.
It's far easier to matchmake with the dedicated servers so they have reason to do it then which they don't currently.
-
I laugh at sprint burst users now because it requires no setup to use and it's a safe perk.
Lithe requires window vaults.
BL requires you to find a drop during a chase.
DH requires timing on it's use and since you're injured already punishes you if you fail.
Sprint burst is just pressing shift and works 100% of the time. -
I love Trapper but there are several issue which are apparent quite quickly.
"Iridescent stone" this sounds good on paper but to get decent use out of it your traps need not to spawn in the corners of the maps and in places survivors will never realistically go.
"Trapper sack" this should not be an addon, The Hag can do 10 traps and they re-fill as each one is set off, Huntress gets 5 hatchets, Trapper should be able to carry up to 3 by default.
Trap Hitboxes, sometimes you have to be stupidly precise where to place a trap or risk it not going off which wastes more time, increase them slightly.
Change the spawns or make it so you can get traps from set places so you spend less time walking to areas with no gens and dropping all your pressure just to get more traps.
-
The solution to camping is simple.
DO THE ######### GENS, that is all.
The solution to tunnelling get better team mates that don't yolosave and learn to run chases better.
You don't need to escape to pip or come out ahead on points.
You can't win every game the killer certainly does not which is probably why he's camping.

It is getting better, probably because Rank Reset was a while ago.
The reason for lobby dodging cannot be put down to a single reason. There are many reasons a killer will dodge but saying they all want easy games is just not true.

But as others have stated if you find both sides hard you just need practise, everyone starts the same way.

I really hope that killers continue this trend after the event such taht the devs finally have to take action
A couple weeks ago, lots of players still thought the matchmaking was buggy, now they realize that there aren't enough killers and that something has to change. That was the first step.
That the devs increased event points for killers (whereas only slightly) is a sign that they are watching the situation. They will have to make more changes besides the event to solve the problem and I'm hopeful that they are going to do that. In the end, they tend to listen to the community, it often just takes quite long.
They increased it by 1 which is laughable and will change nothing.
The mechanics for killers are just silly, you don't have time to go looking for lanterns for only 4 points and you can't use the same hook twice if you want points which have no colour auras so you have to memorise which ones you have used.
-
I didn't even take part in this event to be honest.
Survivor queues are ridiculous and the entire mechanic of how killers have to earn theirs and the laughably low numbers are not even worth my time.
-
Circumstances are key in this scenario.
Do i save people on hooks? yup i even take BT for extra safe unhooks.
Do i save people if the killer is face camping? No campers want you to be altruistic and feed into it.
Do i save the person if i have the doors open and can leave and the killer has NoED up? no.
