You're right. I'm not fooling anyone. I never intend to. I think I was being very fair as to not suggest only making the pride charms optional to visibility in the game. That is why I suggested making the option for all charms visible for the individual. Isn't that fair? Anyway, I'll probably make my own thread about this at some point because this is just needless derailment.
And so you decided to make this suggestion underneath a pride charm announcement instead of anywhere else, knowing full well that a lot common posted here already see you as pretty anti-LGBT+ from your previous comments, because... why exactly? Outside of even more confirmation, why did you think this was a good idea?
Moreover, your original comment was "Thank you for making this charm optional", it was not "Please can we make all charms optional to be hidden". You're trying to backpedal down a one-way street and the only thing you've done so far is trip over and fall.
And, once again, I ask you: Why does seeing pride charms bother you? Literally, why? It's not a hard question to answer.

What does my suggestion of optional charm visibility take from you or anyone? That is the whole point of optional. I have no option to not see pride charms in nearly every match I play. The only option I have is to not play the game and I don't want to do that because I love this game. People of faith play this game, as well as many diverse walks of life. I think the option to disable charm visibility would be inclusive for those who don't want to see them and it takes nothing away from you.
Now once again ask yourself this, and ask yourself this very slowly: Why does seeing the pride charm(s) upset you so much?
And if you bring up the fact that your faith goes against it and thus makes you and others like you intolerant to it, well- we've known that all along but it'd be great to have official confirmation.

In all fairness coming to the forums and reading posts people make is easier to avoid than wanting to play a horror game where nearly every match you play has pride charms on all the hooks and survivors.
And why is this a problem, exactly? Like you're getting very, very close to revealing your true colours here so be careful.

"Killers are not there to make the game fun for you" is a perfectly fine stance to have provided you accept the same thing in reverse, neither are survivors. You cannot complain about one while you complain about the other without being a massive hypocrite, which naturally makes the original assertion put forth substantially weaker.

I mean... the killer isnt responsible for making the game fun for you. The roles called killer not babysitter.
This is a perfect stance to have provided you accept anything that the survivors can do to make the game unfun, because the role is called survivor and not babysitter.
-
You will not be refunded whatever was used to purchase the character. I would like to make that very clear.
You'll receive The Artist killer and an exclusive item, be it a cosmetic piece or a charm, at no discounted price.
It's absolutely better value for money to just use Shards on Artist too.

I mean i can agree with this. It's just kinda weird how a perk like undying is adjusted so quick. But dead hard we gotta wait months. Im not gonna say "survivor perk vs killer perk" because im sure there's more than that and i doubt its the reason. It just surprises me they decided to wait so long. With the general consesus around the perk and its pickrate.
i don't know why dead hard has gone so long without being nerfed, but i can say that on-release undying was absolutely not healthy for the game and should never have released. the fact that it went so quickly is a miracle, but i really wish this speed could be applied to everything, like COH, DH, Alch Ring, etc.

@Canas said:

When exactly will that be? Give me a date. Having to play this game while said perk is allowed to exist is a torture in itself.
Let's go through the regular patterns. There is usually a 3 month delay between Chapters, and the Mid-Chapter will release in between this time, for a total of 4 Chapters and 4 Mid-Chapters each year.
Roots of Dread was released on June 7th 2022, meaning we can assume the next Chapter (most likely Resident Evil: Project W) to arrive around September. This places the Mid-Chapter around the middle of July. We'll most likely get a PTB a couple of weeks early, and going by previous releases they'll do 6.0.1 next week and 6.0.2 the week after. A week's break and then the next PTB late June/Early July, and then the update will hit the live release after another 3 weeks have passed.
All in all, you're looking at between a 5 and 7 week wait for it to hit live servers provided everything goes smoothly and previous patterns are adhered to.
-
How many more times do they need to say "we are aiming for Summer 2022" before it clicks in that it's most likely coming in the Summer 2022 Mid-Chapter unless otherwise communicated?
-
Isn't the actual map called Withered Isle and the realm is Garden Of Joy or did I get that wrong?

Rank/casual mode isn't solid because the game per se is not competitive and nobody would stop tryhards to queue casual and ruin the fun for everyone else (as they do already)
Also 1 behavior seems unable to develop an actual MMR system and 2 the problem of queue times they mentioned by making it stricter is real and nobody wants that in a casual game
Nah I'd be for it because all the sweats would flock to casual leaving ranked as, funnily, the less competitive mode. Because we both know that people would just go to casual for easy wins bringing the most busted ######### possible

hello, fellow headache enjoyer.
if i may ask, how are your light levels?
I can't help but wonder if people just have their TVs positioned right in the sunlight, which causes them to go blind or they are gaming in the dark, which is an easy way to get eye strain.
Honestly, it's pretty good. Like I said, I used to get them bad so I looked into improving my lighting and adjusting game brightness accordingly. Nightfall just gives me a headache and pretty bad nausea.
-
Someone I'm friends with on Twitter suggested rebinding to the right stick so you can use both hands to teleport instead of everything being bound to one side
-
Honestly I really, really like it. Especially on RPD, considering everything that you can interact with in the actual RE games has yellow canvas, tape, paint etc. on it as well, but seeing it on other maps with potentially confusing vaults is a really, really nice change to help reduce the frustration of the game to newer players and make learning new maps less of a tedious chore too. Definitely a fan of it and honestly they could go ahead and make it thematic for newer maps with also confusing vaults (like Haddonfield and Garden make sense, because it's a suburban area, but then Red Forest could have something yellow plant related, and Swamp could have weird mud, etc. Just something to make it stand out).
10/10 change for me, don't want it everywhere but definitely would rather it be everywhere than nowhere.

This needs to be brought back up. #MakeHatchesGreatAgain
Yeah, sure. You can have pre-nerf hatch.
Keys, though, are in fact are being nerfed further to only function when all other survivors are dead if you get that change.
Sound okay? Wonderful.
-
Idk if it's too dark or something because it's giving me some chronic migraines (with me taking every reasonable step I can to prevent eye strain and headaches because I've had them before), but also idk what I expected given BHVR's track record with accessibility
I'm fine with it, it's not scary by any means but it's cool at least, but it just means I'll be playing a whole lot less after a single Dredge encounter
-
I hope it's only the case that there's no Maurice when facing Dredge on Chapel
If it's gone for good I'll be heartbroken.

W-key city is pretty unfun to play against but I can't say I found get-looped-for-45-seconds-because-of-no-chase-power to be any better with Sadako.
At least with looping I stand a chance at effectively countering them, considering the years of experience I had pre-Pyramid Head release (and continued to get with Wraith afterwards). W key is literally just hold a button, press "break pallet" occasionally, rinse and repeat with very little chance of effectively countering them.

I mean I would LOVE for Trickster or Dredge to have been designed like Meyers, where you can just store up your power and activate it when you want to. But since "quality of life for killers" is very, very low on the To Do List, I'd much rather get a passive that you actually see during games than one you don't. Trickster's Main Event is so bad that actually using it when it happens to pop up is very often the wrong call and will cost you a chase. It's infinitely worse than Nightfall (and the only REAL use for Main Event is hook camping, so it's bad from both a killer AND survivor perspective).
If you don't like the killer, that's fine. If you prefer the weaker version instead, that's fine too. People still play the gutted Deathslinger for some reason, despite him being a worse Huntress in every respect.
It does seem like we both want the same thing tbh, just for different reasons lmao.
But yeah, Dredge just is not the killer for me. And it's a shame, because I love the way the art team went. I think the only time they've ever really disappointed me recently is in Artist, though, and I don't enjoy anything about her so that's hardly surprising.
For an Anniversary chapter, though, I was hoping for something a bit more. I'll just pretend Sadako was the anniversary chapter and everything will be fine.

"At least Main Event on Trickster you have to activate, Nightfall just happens and it's like oh cool glad I could activate this when I wanted t- oh wait."
What are you even talking about? Main Event is the worst designed power in the game. It's a pool you have to build up by hitting with your action, the pool gradually decays if you don't hit often enough, when you CAN use it is on a super hard timer that you can't extend, activating it essentially makes you practically immobile compared to survivors, and has a massive recovery stun that lets anybody not downed escape for free.
Nightfall charges by hitting survivors, hiding in a locker, using your husk teleport, and GRADUALLY increases based on injured survivors in the map. Are you complaining about the power gradually increasing instead of gradually decreasing?
More killers should have a passive effect like Nightfall or Chain Hunts. Killers should warp the state of the game just by being there to make matches more unique for each character. Not "oh no it's Clown. He'll throw something at me and try to hit me" or "oh no it's huntress. She'll try throw somehting at me and try to hit me." Every match is gens, door, escape. Killers who alter the environment to make that less identical should be celebrated not bemoaned.
Nightfall charges by hitting survivors, hiding in a locker, using your husk teleport, and GRADUALLY increases based on injured survivors in the map. Are you complaining about the power gradually increasing instead of gradually decreasing?
Moreoso I'm complaining about not getting to activate it when you want and, unlike a Chain Hunt, it's time limited meaning that being able to activate it whenever would help add a greater skill ceiling and make for more meaningful Nightfall uses. However, that it is entirely passive, combined with the rest of Dredge's (imo dull) kit, has made for an incredibly boring experience in the ~10 games I've played of it.
Do I expect to be the master of a killer within 10 games? No. But considering Sadako was fun from game 1, and DBD is still a video game, I was at least expecting to be having some engagement by game 10.

I by no means think Dredge is amazing or anything, but compared to the snooze fest that was versing Artists, I think Dredge is fairly fun to play as and against.

If I Prestige him, what exactly happens?
I appreciate any/all help :)
Prestiging a character will automatically unlock their 3 teachable perks on all other characters of that role relative to prestige level. P2 Bubba will have every character automatically have BBQ T2 without spending a single bloodpoint, for instance.
-
Hot take: it isn't scary to face Dredge. There's very little tension, a couple of jumpscares but that's it. The darkness is more frustrating than anything because I can just see discrepancies with the lighting constantly that break immersion moreso than being healed via magical backrub

Something happened that I don't think I can discuss to one member, most others resigned in protest. Boosted_Dwight then left DBD and thus the Forums, Boss left alongside Orion with the NFT debacle and has only returned very sparingly once, and TwistedMonkey and FireHazard appear once a blue moon.
