some of the people I play with can get really into running a killer. I mean laughing at the top of their lungs saying wiff at every miss and and just getting all crazy as they run the killer. as someone in a group it can get annoying.
I don't do that as a player if I play well I do but I don't rub it in a killers face who can't even hear me.
To killers: if you could hear what some SWF groups are saying about you in the game you'd be shocked at how mean and annoying it can be. Be glad you can't; it can be pretty bad.
This is why I only play with my girlfriend and her brother. I literally refuse to swf with other people in this game. Way too toxic. I couldn't imagine playing with some of these people. I would most likely snap.

11 for survivor and 20 for killer and a ton of them have been around for a long time and dont see too much use
besides its just an idea
but aside from it being a gen perk any feedback on the perk itself?
I mean I think it would be an average perk. Mainly with ds nerf on it's way. It will award semi aggressive gameplay, but at the same time I can see it being used in swf not so much solo.

Please no more perks for generators. I will lose my mind. :(

So survivors always call me merciless because I didn't give the hatch or because I didn't give them another chance because one of them Dcd and sometimes I down someone off the hook and get called toxic even though I wasn't going to pick them up, but here's what I don't understand, I'm toxic because I'm playing how I'm supposed to, but if something doesn't go my way Survivors start Tbagging and flashlight Clicking when they're at the Exit Gate, I'm starting to think that survivors make the killers toxic idk.
Me as a Huntress main I get bashed for playing as fair as I can, like how am I supposed to play then?
I don't get it.
Even when I do 12 hook games survivors tell me to opt out in real life. Call me names even though I played fair. I usually try to play as fair as I can to maximize bloodpoints, and efficiency. Sometimes I will tunnel or camp if they decide to be annoying though. I just stopped caring what people on this game say. Just play however you would like. They only care about themselves. So just care about yourself. Do what's best for you.

For anyone who loves to watch Otz, tell me your reasons as to why you enjoy watching him? I like Otz because I learn something new from him quite a bit whether it be from his videos or sometimes watching his streams. He also likes anime which is cool, has a personality that I find very hard to search for in other streamers, and the guy is very good at the game. You can go and tell him right now to use the worst killer perks in the game on Trapper, and you can probably more than likely expect him to 4K.
This is a rough subject. From all the years of games I've played, and the amount of forums I've been on over the years a lot of people don't really like content creators all that much. I really like Otz though. He can be pretty funny, and he gives good gameplay insights. Although whenever I see him play clown I cringe, but that's okay he's still a baby clown. He's a pretty good player, and makes good content in my opinion. Although if we go into the survivor side of dbd content it's just super bad. All the same format and nothing special like always.

There's bugs such as you using an antidote, but the game for some reason thought you used a tonic. There's also that one bug where you hit a survivor with a tonic, but don't slow down for some reason. Maybe these will be fixed in the new chapter, but knowing BHVR's track record probably not.
Mmm yea I forgot about that one too. A lot of bugs that weren't there happened after the buff which overall makes clown much weaker to use right now. I mean I still perform just as well, but right now there is extra steps.

He already has an addon which allows him to insta down survivors. This just negates the punishment for mixing the clouds, also a longer pallet stun time is meaningless.
It doesn't negate it if they implement it in a certain way. Pinky's is overpowered if you know how to bottle toss. I have about a 90% accuracy rate on bottle tosses, but at the same time RHPF also isn't exactly the funnest of addons to use. So giving him a combo of him being able to perform an instadown in a certain window without the addon I think would benefit him. Even if they have to nerf RHPF to something else I would be down for it.

All they needa do is Rework alot of his bad addons. I.E the Feathers. Increase the Antidote bottle gas (or h/e it's called) Rework the Tattoo Middle Finger. and we'd be set
Edit: For people that are confused about the Tattoo Ultra rare. It's a aura reading like Cigar Box. which is already... a Waste of a slot as it stands, For said rework. Just Change it to This
New: Tattoo Middle Finger: The prized middle finger of a large tattooed man. Has a faint taste of machinery oil.
Survivors are No Longer Affected by The Afterpiece Antidote. They do not Benefit from Invigorated Effect.
Yea we talked about it on your stream yesterday, and best way to fix some of his addons.

@th3 said:
No thanks such a bad idea
It's not a bad idea at all actually. It's a really solid idea, but I think that he has some other bugs that need to be fixed first before if they choose to add anything else to him. He already is one of the highest mechanically skilled killers in the entire game. This would ascend him even higher, but I think there is bigger fish to fry with him first.

@Maelstrom10 said:
Doing so currently does nothing, and negates the effects of both bottles. but whilst clown isn't doing too to poorly atm, with his recent addon changes and basekit buffs that make it significantly easier to reload and throw bottles around, i still feel his basekit is lacking.
giving him the exposed effect on bottles mixing together (say into a red, or other colored cloud) would allow him, when he truly has a survivor cornered to go for an instant down on a player. Granting him a weakness to using them together (a longer pallet stun time) would mean he can't just do it in unsafe loops, or out in the open in order to effectively halve chases (And would be putting the clown at a risk if they did so.)
It would also allow him a significant form of hook denial, that many other instant down killers have, through the use of throwing two bottles to prevent a hook save. this could become problematic, however clouds made by combining both bottles together could dissapate far faster (requiring him to be very close to the hook in order to do so.) I also don't believe this to be a major issue, as billy, leatherface, myers, and few others have potential to deny hooks in the same fashion and they are deemed ok within the game
TLDR: Clown mixing two of his bottles together, should grant the exposed effect on survivors, and grant him a longer pallet stun if used incorrectly.
Clowns addons for the most part got pretty butchered. Clown is in a strong spot, and doesn't need any buffs. He needs his normal tonic to be fixed, because it has problems after the update. He is in the best spot he could be right now. It will be better once they fix his normal tonic though.

Holding w literally is the most efficient way to win. It's such a stupid way to win, but it works, and that's what makes it honestly sad.

Against bad spirits this will work but even okay spirits will pick up on this. Especially if you don’t have iron will (I play Jane so I’m not exactly quiet:)
of I am using iron will I just stand still works like 60% of the time
You switch it up though too. I mean realistically there is not much you can do against a god tier spirit. Just like there isn't much counterplay if someone is really good with a certain killer. I've gone against some pretty good spirits doing this strategy and it works pretty consistently.

What do you do normally then?
Run around in circles like a maniac and eventually double back. I just walk away if she's fake phasing, and just start running around like a maniac. Works pretty much every time. I don't run iron will, but I do play kate, so she is a bit on the quiet side. This strategy is effective, because most spirit players don't expect it. It's kind of like retracing your steps to double back in a sense while running around like a maniac. Also crouching in strange places does work too.
-
@Anathema said:
If you're playing Spirit against me then congratulations - you can have the game.
I actually can't fathom what they were thinking with this killer. Can phase so regularly, pop out of thin air, has no hard counter and to top it all off - the skill threshold is incredibly low.
I'm not entertaining Spirit games any more. Any time I see a Spirit I'm refusing to play.
The average spirit player is easily counterable you really need to think outside of the box. It's not that difficult. I actually find her to be one of the easier killers to counter.

Then make it a little bit harder to depip. I have had multiple games where I get multiple gens done, cleanse totems, and rescues hooked survivors but if I get downed and the killer decides to face camp me (which happens a lot more then it should) I will still depip. That’s the most frustrating part about face camping and hard tunneling: the fact that it is an almost guaranteed depip.
Who cares about pips after 500 hours in the game? The rank system is meaningless. As shown by 99% survivors in red ranks and 90% of killers in red ranks.

Hi, I'm relatively new to the game and already I'm really struggling with mental health issues whenever I decide to pick up the game for a few matches.
I'm honestly just looking for someone who can provide some of the ways you guys have been able to cope with the toxicity in the game? (Body blocking, flashlight stunning, tea bagging, etc) A few games I can take and let me be clear I don't mind losing but the bullying and harassment is really getting to me.
I mostly play killer, namely Bubba/Lestherface/Cannibal but a few others as well. I feel like especially recently the cruelty among survivor players has spiked significantly and I don't know what to do... I do my best to be calm and not let it get to me but it's really affecting my sanity and causing me to become severely depressed and in some cases causing me to self harm (Something I haven't done since years and years ago). I honestly am just looking to improve and play with people but I can't take much more of the unnecessary cruelty...
Just improve if you really want to play this game. Honestly if you keep playing you will get better. You'll be bullying survivors once you get good enough. I mean sometimes no matter how good you are you will end up losing, and people will get annoying. I find the teabaggers and flash light clickers the worst, but honestly if you play bubba catch the person doing it, and throw them down in the basement and face camp them. It does feel really good doing that. You aren't exactly going to rank up playing that way, but it is fun. I always say how pretty darn good I am at clown. A lot of people tend to tell me that I play extremely aggressive, and there was nothing they could do all game, but sometimes even the best of the best are going to lose, and sometimes I just get absolutely dunked on. It happens, and that's apart of the game.

@Kratooos said:
So, let me just state right now, I play both sides.
What I wanted to discuss was how both killer and survivor have those weirdly designed perks that reward them for playing like ass. First perk that obviously comes in mind is Hex: No One Escapes Death. Picture this. You and your team are playing well, killer gets a few (let's say 3) hooks, you do all the gens. Well then, game's over right? Oh, not by a long shot, the killer whips out a fat NOED and gets your entire team thanks to the handy 4% movement speed and instadowns. And all that, because you dared finish your objective without cleansing all totems first! I get genrushed rather often myself, but I still see my fault in it, so I refuse to use a perk that gives me free kills. Well, now that I've basically described NOED, time for some survivor perks. DS gets a solid nerf the upcoming season, so that's out of the way. What's still an issue, is not the perk itself, but the synergies it has with other perks like unbreakable or soul guard. Hell, even no mither, tho no one uses that perk. Now I'm not the one to call survivors who use it "small pp survivors", but I do find a few issues with this combo. Firstly, it's inavoidable and uncounterable. Some might say "well just wait out the DS" yeah, and let gens fly? it's basically a get out of jail free card, and the nerf doesn't address it. Well, I don't know much about balancing, just wanted to make a post of the few problems I see. I'd love to see some constructive criticism, feedback and all that. Have a good day!
Noed is not really even that common of a perk to complain about it. If you know totem spots then it's going to go quickly. At most it's a 1k if you are playing smart.

I was playing Twins on Suffo Pit last night and 5 gens spawned on the pit side with 2 gens on the shack side. So the survivors lost the second we loaded in.
The Game still has an absurd number of safe pallets, but now there are breakable walls and random dead ends.
Disturbed Ward is still enormous.
My point is: why are you guys devoting so many resources to map reworks but not fixing anything that is actually wrong with the maps?
Honestly disturbed ward is more obnoxious to play on now due to the all the stuff that is literally in the way. Use to be a good map for billy and blight. Now there are things literally everywhere. Cool god window is not really a god window anymore, but still. I don't even think that compensates for the how bad it is now. Father campells use to be my favorite map, now it just feels so awful to play on. Mainly now when a literal infinite can spawn in the main building sometimes. The game map was so fun on stealth killers RIP that map not sure if there is anything to do to salvage it now. Suffocation pit literally can spawn like 3 l and t walls right next to each other happens so frequently it's insane.

Source on that? Also, low pick rate doesn't necessarily mean a killer needs buffs, especially for the newest one, and especially given how rocky that DLC launch was. Many people probably just never bought the DLC.
I've played hundreds of survivor rounds since release and literally in the past 2 months Jan/Feb I've seen a total of 3 out of like 500+ games at rank 1. I've seen much more plague players which to my knowledge she is technically on stats is the lowest picked killer I think? I think a lot of people can attest to on how rare seeing a twins player is. When new stats come out I bet 5 bucks they will be the lowest picked.

I don't get why Victor's pounce doesn't break pallets.
It's vulnerable for Victor already to miss a pounce, it should allow him to break pallets.
It has a charge time, a huge delay and only one state damage on hit.
It should guarantee pallet breaking.
I mean whatever gets people to play twins, because right now they are the least played killer in the game.

I've been streaming the game since October, and have been grinding this game since I got it nearly a year ago. I got to red rank 1 in a week and a half after learning all of the techniques and strats required to be decent at the game, and I can safely say that In that year, out of every single killer/survivor and all of their perks, it is actually impossible that you got EVERYTHING in this game in roughly 8 months.
There is no way you have all killers, P3 50 with every perk at tier 3 unless you went on MPGH and got some sort of account hack. The amount of hours required to get everything in the game is roughly around 3-4k hours, and considering its been around 8 months since August and that's roughly about 5000 hours, I'm gonna have to call your bluff sir, unless of course you spend your entire life in this game, which is fine, but you need to eat and sleep and work/educate, see family and friends, celebrate holidays, etc.
I don't prestige characters I forgot to mention that. I was talking about just plain 50 which is possible. You're right it's pretty much impossible to get everyone p3 50 with all perks in 8 months. Not impossible but improbable.

Most of the time, both tunnels and camps, both plays the same typical perks - noed lol - both sweats
with the bugged matchmaking i can even tell sometimes if the killer is rank 1 or 12 . I'm generally surprised in the end game by their ranks.
Ranks should be more selective tbh
Tunneling and camping is a strategy that is needed sometimes. Like yesterday night I played against ohtofu and some of his friends all rank 1 on the game map. I played pretty much perfectly and 2 hooked everybody before I even killed anyone, and still got a 2k at the end, but if I tunneled a bit I most likely would've got a 4k. They had time to goof off and other things, and still got all gens done. People who split up on gens can achieve this without much of a problem. I don't think you quite understand how tunneling and camping is a thing if you really want the 4k. For me personally I don't care about the 4k anymore. I give hatch out majority of my games, but people do care about the 4k, and so these strategies are viable to achieve it. 4 hooking everyone 2 times before killing anyone is incredibly difficult, and even if your skill level is high enough to get downs quick enough it won't matter, because gen speeds are too quick.
-
Dunno how else I could prove it to you, because it would take like a million screenshots to post it here.

They need to shadowbuff kate more

Honestly with all the discussion about "blank" either being too weak or strong, let's just have a calm discussion on why you chose your main. Did you like how they looked, related to their backstory (this is concerning for killers), thought their perks were good, or specifically for killers, thought their power was cool or meta?
I'll go first, I've mained ever since Hillbilly shortly after the release of the console versions of dbd (I held back from buying it immediately since Friday was a thing). I've been following this game since Trapper was the only killer, so come time when Wraith and Hillbilly were released with the full game, I decided I would main Hillbilly out of the three, my decision didn't change even as more killers were released before the port to console and now while I do play other killers, Billy-boy will always be my number one.
Kate because she is yummy
Clown because everyone said he was incredibly weak, so I took the challenge of finding potential with him, and either I get a lot of insults for playing him well or people who are impressed by my skill with him.

@Afius said:
All they'd need to do personally is remove perk tiers. When you have the majority of the characters but you can't mess around because that survivor/killer have any doesn't perks it kinda feels bleh
This I do agree with, but at the same time I don't think they want to do that. The grind is usually what keeps people playing games regardless. There are way more games that have grinds much much more heavier than dbd, and it's what keeps people busy usually. Outside of the grind you don't have a whole lot to actually work for on this game.
-
@D3spair said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2004205#Comment_2004205
That does not solve the grind for perks as the number of Perks with the ever increasing characters(Killers and Survivor) like you need at least 1.4 million to level 50 a single character but the perks there are still incomplete. As a new player can you imagine farming atleast 3 million bloodpoints for all Killer and Survivor just to complete the perks.
Well I started back in august of last year and have all perks on all characters so it's possible to get it done in a reasonable time frame if you like playing the game.
-
@D3spair said:
BHVR can't you guys make the overall grind lesser for newer players or Player who has jobs? I work like 8 hours on weekdays and I can't see how to get my remaining killer to get all the Perks or Complete the tome by the current deadline. I'm just speculating here but are you guys intentionally making the tome grindy af so that people like me buy auric cells to raise it??
Anyone else with the same sentiments? Not everyone is a streamer who can play the game 12 hours everyday or not everyone wants to play 12 hours a day just to grind!
Next chapter the amount of shards needed per level are supposed to go down to 5. So the grind will reduce a lot.

Hi, it's been quite a while since I last made a post. I felt compelled to write here once again after watching that beautiful Rockabilly survivor skin Trailer and I wondered " So many beautiful, yet popular survivors. But who is the leading lady?"
I'll be giving my opinion, it's probably a bit inaccurate but I also want to hear yours. Who is the Survivor Best Girl of this Game so far?
Here's my list, #1 being the top pick.
12) Zarina
11) Cheryl
10) Nancy
9) Elodie
8) Yui
7) Laurie
6) Feng Min
5) Claudette
4)Meg
3) Jane
2) Nea
1) Kate
So there you have it, I'm excited to see what you all write.
My lovely Jane is undeniably popular, but ultimately recently I have to admit Kate seems to be the Female Face of DBD. Her Popularity is high, her cosmetics are usually A+, and she has a regular ample amount of screen time in cinematics. (Although Jane is getting to this position as well, with her quality skins and gaining popularity.)
Kate is the best female character in dbd, and I'm not sure if she can ever be topped, but then again I'm a kate and clown fanboy and they are the only characters I have all cosmetics for, so take my word with a grain of salt.

I play Asian region and let me tell you the mentality here is different. Red ranks its just swf genrush after swf genrush after swf genrush. Its like people never wanna play solo and always looking for a team. Newer players will never get the feeling of a horror game since from the very moment they start in yellow ranks, they always know every move the killer makes. Ill get a hit at a TL in 5 seconds max, but these teams still get to red ranks because of the absurd gen speed.
Playing on prime time today I cant recall a game lasting longer than 8 mins vs these swfs. Im a big fan of the new tinkerer but I may wanna stop using it due to the stress. Its acceptable for a gen (or 2) to finish within 1.5 minutes in a game, but during the mid-period its ridiculous. Ill down people in less than 45 secs of chase (from full health) and utilize pop but still every 30 secs Tinkerer procs on multiple gens on the central gens of pale rose btw.
How can it be that it takes you 20 secs to traverse Azarovs' from one side to the other but (only 2) survs can rush a gen within 40? I literally hooked a guy and went to pop a gen on the other side but by the time I got back (while utilizing frenzy as well), a gen that was on zero beside the hook had already popped, essentially breaking down my 3 gen strat. Seconds after that they popped a gen that was tinkered way earlier that I gave up on.
GEN RUSH IS A THING and no killer except 2 can stop vs an efficient swf thats sole purpose is to sit on gens 80% of the match. I can only say about Asian region. Any other Asian based killer mains out there facing similar stuff? I hear south america is another sweaty region in terms of gen speed, any truth to that?
Yea I just run corrupt these days to stop gens in the start. On average I get 2 downs before corrupt is up. Corrupt is mandatory no matter the region. People are hardcore wanting to sit on gens. I'm near pinnacle peak skill on clown. I still have problems if people want to sit on gens. At that point unless you are playing nurse or spirit it's a gg.

I'd put Blight in S, Clown in C and Pig in D (not sure why you thought Pig is harder than Bubba). I'd personally put Huntress in B just because I find her way easier to play than Slinger.
I'd have to disagree with clown going down to c. His bottles have an interaction with every item in the game. Perfect placements can be hard to judge, and you have to predict, and that can be tricky. Mainly with his yellow bottles now.

The problem with Pig is that her antiloop ability is 90% of the time in control of what survivors do (if they hold W or camp a pallet, bye bye Ambush) and usable mostly on already unsafe loops. In fact, I'd barely consider her ability a form of antiloop, seriously.
Pigs ambush is pretty much usually useless, and I wouldn't even call it an antiloop either.

Meaning their power would probably break the game in some way, like nurse bypasses all walls/pallets/windows. I don't think that it would necessarily need to be chase focused power like nurse's.
They could have for example have some kind of power that creates entity minions and you would need to micro manage them or some other thing that completely flips the match around. I think it would be great to get more killers who change gameplay in drastic way, not just slightly differentiate how you loop who while still rushing gens the same old way.
Imo it would be better that more crossbreeding of powers that already exist. Not saying we didn't get anything creative lately but more like that it could be more creative in the future.

It's so large and incredibly hard to control when not playing certain killers. It makes it frustrating for me. Considering I main clown, I think it's clown's worst map due to size, and the main building is horrors if god window spawns in. Not much to do on it. I struggle on it a lot. :( I do much better on the game and haddonfield.

This is just my opinion coming from someone that plays both sides. I think we can all agree Haddonfield and The Game both deserve their own tier at the bottom.
Throw groaning storehouse in the f tier also can't stand that map.

I'm a rank 1 killer but I have not put a lot of hours into Trapper. Considering he is very bad at gen defense I have been using Pop, Corrupt, Surge, and Oppression to keep the gens from popping. Does anyone have any other good builds I can use for Trapper in Red Ranks?
Corrupt, STBFL, Shadowborn, BBQ. Swap shadowborn out if you would like for something else like whispers or swap BBQ out for whispers to make sure nobody is watching you set down traps.

While this is incredibly greedy and scummy, I'll put it simply, I'd be fine with them doing so... if they were to re-color them.
At this point, is there any point in the rift pass? Except for the small portion of players who can enjoy this game long enough (in which case they can do it to save money), there is no point in buying the rift pass. It's grindy as hell and has less tiers than other battle passes. It is actually the worse form of a battle pass I have ever seen, it's so surprising to me to see that fortnite actually did it better despite the concept of battle passes being unpopular at the time. You would see less tiers and think it's more casual friendly, but it instead requires more of your time to get less rewards.
To get back on topic, the devs then go along and put the cosmetics in the store, removing the one main attraction of battle pass cosmetics, that they're exclusive and you have to work for them. Especially with the first rift which was mostly re-skins and other trash cosmetics that you'd never use with double the grind to get them. The very least the devs could do is re-color the skins before putting them in the shop. I hate fortnite, I don't like the br genre and I especially don't like the building but I can still acknowledge that those greedy devs who charged $20 for a skin where still more respectful towards their fanbase than the devs of dbd are. Sure they may make just female tier 100 skins but they never put the originals in the shop.
What's more, with the skeleton trooper they actually made an exclusive version for the players that bought him originally, so both parties where happy. The devs made extra money by selling him again and the players could still expressive that they bought him first. I'm just using fortnite to compare how scummy the devs are in their decisions.
I'm still waiting for the purple children's party outfit. It's good for people who weren't around to get those old outfits. Plus it's cheaper to finish the rift than buy them all invidually.

We've all been there, either as Survivor or Killer and I think both sides can agree changes are necessary. What would you do to change the map if you could?
Haddonfield needs a serious rework bigger than what ormond got to make it less painful to play on.
