Lots of pointless somplaints are going on in these forums, but this one cannot be stressed enough.
Devs. Please. Punish. DC. More. Harshly. The current consequences for DC-ing are a laugh. -

Yay, my comment is gone. Why does this forum have a problem with editing?
Anyway: saw Sin City? There's a beautiful moment when Marv says: "I like hitmen. No matter what I do to them, I don't feel bad."
Same deal with those 4 flashlight, 4 DS Squadettes: anything goes. Camp. Tunnel. Bodyblock in basement. Whatever it takes.
I can get a 4K against such groups around 1 out of 10 times. And that one 4K... it's worth it. It's better than sex.i like your comment but i would hate you as a survivor
I don't think so: if they don't play tryhard mode, I'm more than willing to let them do their unhooks, give them hatch occasionally, and I always go against the savior rather than a freshly unhooked guy - why not let them have their Safe Unhook scores?
It's just that I like it how intense the game can be when everyone is trying their hardest. -

Getting out alive without having been downed is an Iridescent, getting out is a gold. That itself is enough for me to be careful not to expose myself too much, not to mention those Stealth points. So... the best way to play at start I think is hiding close, but not to close to a generator, wait for one of two things to happen: killer doing his first round passes by and leaves when seeing gen is untouched, or, another survivor takes a hit far away. THEN it is time to hop on the generator. Save only when it's safe, and look for Ruin only, when one or two gens popped already, making the killer less fixated on his precious totem. And none of that BS heroism: bodyblocking killer and the like.
Honestly, one of the most beautiful aspects of dbd is that you're not just trying to outsmart the killer, but often you're on competition with other survivors. Sometimes you just have to volunteer one of them for the hook, so you can escape. After all, that's what they're there for. -
Call me a weirdo, but I'm having much more success with Freddy on rank 3 than Billy, let alone the Nurse. Been struggling against skilled SWF with Billy boy, while with Sweater Creep I can usually secure at least 1 pip. (Dress addons are a godsend, you don't need to down them right away.)
If the buff coming to him is gonna be the real deal, he'll be unstoppable

Then, and only then it is ok to get on the generator.
Same goes for hook saves. Better make a 100% sure killer is not camping, then go for it. So pointless to go for foolhardy heroics. -
Huntress, wearing a strapon.
What? What's wrong with that? -
I have another idea: leave Iridescent Head as it is now, just add a piercing ability, so you can shoot through survs and down more than one at a time.
Or maybe an Explosive Head addon? That would be fun
-
@Rellewd tell you what, give me your Steam login data and whenever you're not playing, I'll play with your account, earning you a nice amount of extra Bp.
For a reasonable hourly charge, obviously. -
No, you're completely wrong there. As a killer you MUST NOT camp the Hatch. That's like telling the last survivor "hey, it's here!". Just continue searching for him. Hatch is fine as it is.suffering23 said:when the killer killed 3 surivors and they have to camp the hatch,

Oh wow, that's some style there. I wonder if the guy just prepares to the game by copying that line to the clipboard.ClogWench said:Tunnelled and mori'd a laurie who was flashlight clicking and tbagging. Got called, and I quote, "Putrid piece of puss filled, maggoty ass fly ****" which was truly a unique experience. Also had one person send me a voice recording of him getting mad. Didn't say anything memorable but the fact that he recorded it really made it special
The voice recording is cool too.
Why don't I get messages like this?
-
Lol that's exactly what I hope every sad soul trying to derank gets: a deranked tryhard SWF group

Both are moderately funny btw: getting some teabags in the face, or being camped by an uninventive Leatherface. Nothing toxic about either of these, even though they are not the best way to play. -
Moriing someone all the time on purpose may seem "griefing" to some, but any serious player would shrug it off. There's so much stupid whining goes on about "toxicity" and "salt" - most of it is just that people can't take defeat. if you don't like the aftergame chat (which is usually pleasant btw), say gg and quit right away. If you have problems with being camped, tunneled, moried etc, either learn how not to be camped and tunneled and moried, or just bloody go and play some other game. And if you play killer and you feel you can't take any more teabagging, hookrushing, flashlights, bodyblocking: see above. Lord Jesus, some players are so eager to run to dev Mommy and dev Daddy instead of manning up, accept they've lost a game and move on to the next.
Really, you play a game where a brutal and devious killer is out to brutally and deviously murder you, and when you're brutally and deviously murdered you sob about it? You know what you signed up for, don't you?
Dbd is best when it's crazy competitive: ruthless high rank killers, organized flashlight squads and all that jazz. Get frustrated, furious, angry, and when the game's over, take a deep breath and say gg, even when (especially when) you failed miserably.
There is no toxicity in this game. Some of you guys have no idea what real toxicity is. -

The no sound bell needs to be removed immediately. That is one of the biggest unfair advantages in this game and completely goes against the whole concept of the game. If you use that along with the fast decloak, there is no way you should ever come close to losing or the survivors getting anywhere near the generators repaired. I played with it and I am not that great at being the killer nor did I have a very fast decloak going on and I wiped through teams easily. What really got me is when i was repairing a generator, did not see the distortion as I was looking for it, and the same second I could tell he was right behind me and decloaking, he had already grabbed me. That is pathetic and needs to be done away with immediately.Well maybe look around while doing a gen?
Yeah I know its hard to move your mouse while holding M1, but it can be done with some practice of your multi tasking skillz

Lol that's mean. But correct. @SpiderTash : sorry my man, but there's a reason the Wraith is still considered a low tier killer. He's fun to play but nowhere near as effective as many other killers. The way it usually goes down is this: with or without Coxcombed Clapper, he usually gets a free hit. A free FIRST hit. Then comes the hell of endless looping, where his power is rarely any help.
All you have to do as a survivor is to be a little more observant, distortion is not that hard to spot. -
Let's just hope they don't take the easy way and simply shorten Dream Transition, but make waking up harder instead. I'd want survivors to be forced to actually do gens while asleep. If they just reduce Dream Transition, they'll just make Freddy more like the other killers.
-
Too many to count. Blood Warden is my best friend, even though it doesn't always work out.
-
Would not work, and would not really serve a purpose anyway.
You cannot root out abusive behaviour. And why would you want to? It's just a guy tapping ctrl, or in the worst case, typing obscenities and insults in endgame chat. Words. No actual harm done. Just learn to ignore. -
Umm... can anyone name ONE movie based on a game that's good?
I don't think there's any. Btw, the other way doesn't usually work out either. -
No it's not. It's just that there are better ones. The only time I would equip NOED is when I see a group that looks like an organized 4 person SWF team. But even then, Blood Warden is so much more fun.
-
You can play the tutorial over and over.
-
@sixty4half and @Vietfox , you're right. All this "I wanna derank to have fun games" means "I want easy 3-4K games against casuals". I don't get that. You guys out there trying to derank: if you hate skilled 4 person SWF teams so much, why don't you just try your best and have at least 1-2 kills against them? It feels better than slaughtering a full team of potato casual survivors, aimlessly running around. Yes sometimes you'll get some humiliating defeats. So what. Grow a spine. I can tell you from experience, those rare times when I brutally massacre a full SWF squadette, it's ecstatic.
So no, deranking on purpose, and especially whining about difficult matches on the forums is just pathetic. -
Having two slots for offerings, one that could only be used for map offerings would help. Though in that case, survivor offerings would have to have less effect.
-
Too expensive. Just do it with rusty old machetes and none of this helmet-smartphone-harness silliness.
-
@GrannyonAcid exactly. Complaining about "hatch standoff" is silly. Just let him go or let him catch you, problem solved.
-
I didn't. I just do my best to argue for the best interest of those of us who want to play seriously. Not exaggerating when I say I had hundreds of games screwed because someone DC-d. If you have a temporary connection problem, that's a one-off and 5 minutes shouldn't hit you so hard. If it keeps up, then you should be considerate and stop ruining other people's games with your bad connection.MhhBurgers said:@George_Soros said:

I feel one exception should be made though: if one survivor disconnects early on, then maybe there shouldn't be any penalty for the rest of the players, killer and survivor. 3 guys, 5 gens can be tough for survs and not a challenge for a decent killer, who may prefer to move on to a game with 4 survivors.
It doesn't matter if you think that, the game has no minimum internet requirement.
You need Ayn Rand. Seriously.
Don't push your nose into other people's business.

-
Lobby dodgers are cowards. A 4 men SWF group is so tasty. As they are harder to play against, anything goes. Camp and tunnel away, juggle if necessary, bring out your most tryhard build... Casual games and meme builds are fine, but still, heavily competitive games are the best.
-
It's a big mistake I think. Overregulating is always a wrong course.
I wish the devs just came to their senses and introduced a killer ranking system, where 0K awards you with -2 pips and 4K with +2. Limiting players' movement is depriving them of their most basic tool. I know standing at a hook doing nothing is a dumb thing to do, but sometimes it is the correct action.
Not getting a penalty for the last surv or when in a chase is not really helping. You may have seen a Claudette lurking around while you were carrying. Your BBQ may not have given you any clues, making you think they're all nearby. Or you simply know this team is very altruistic. All valid reasons to stay near to the hook and search for survivors, and the new Chaser doesn't consider these.
It will only encourage more mindless hook swarming. There are so many better options to discourage hard camping
-

Yeah exactly. My favourite moment is when I go back from exit for a hooked mate telling myself I'M DOING IT! YES I'M DOING IT! Unhook them, I get promptly downed thinking, "GO GIRL, GO! a number of our players for some reason cannot handle losing.That. Exactly.
As for "participation trophies", I think the devs went out of their way to give SOMETHING to players, even when they lose. No pips? You still have your BP, possibly some achievement progress, an item you salvaged even though you spent most of the game on a hook, etc.
That's the big challenge with practically any game: you want to make it enjoyable for as many players as possible, yet, since people don't like to lose, there will always be unhappy ones. I would say DBD performs extremely well in this sense: if you have a good sense of humour, you can be brutally murdered during a game and still have fun, provided you can appreciate those moments of drama. Still, I expect a lot of people are too immature to find the beauty in "doing well but ultimately failing". That's btw very much what I'd call a first world problem. Weak will and lack of resilience in kids. Entitlement (that word comes up so often here and with good reason).
But I'm digressing too much here I guess. -
