Exactly, that’s 3 years new players were being gatekeeped from the game
3 years of new players learning Skill Checks in the best possible manner while learning the importance of cleansing Totems.
Old Ruin was extremely healthy to the game.
-
Patch 1.9.2 would like to have a word with you.
-
I would love to have Old Ruin back.
It was a very good perk, which added skill to Skill Checks and helped slow the game down...just a little bit.
Also, its synergy with Pop was sweet!
@WexlerWendigo said:
Old ruin was even more egregious than old mettle of man
Not in the slightest. Ruin lasted for roughly 3 years, while MoM lasted for what? 1 week?
There is a very big difference between the 2.

Old Wraith = F tier
Yeah, I know. I was there. Just wanted to hear Sluzzy's opinion.

They better do it! It happened once, it can happen again.

I am still saddened that his movement speed was reduced when setting traps. I'm still thinking about how his addon to lock the doors for 12 seconds works, I don't see any point in it if I have the Trickster perk.
There is no point. One of the worst changes I've ever seen.

It makes sense, I still think that Freddy's nerf did not change anything, his add-ons were weakened and have been changed, if he put everyone with his addons plus op, the list would be different.
It did, but not that much. He still is A Tier, just in the bottom of said Tier.
-
I will only accept a Blood Feast.

Almost there.

Nope, you can't. It would fall under "Name and Shame", and lets be honest: that wouldn't be a nice thing to do.

Maybe for really casual players, but if we're being perfectly honest the damage has been done. You'd need to wipe people's pre-midwich memories (I think that was the map that made everyone go "Oh, sprinting forward is really strong!"). No team doing the old predrop-and-W strat cares about having fun chases, not when they're prethrowing Jungle Gyms and Shack, and now everyone also knows the importance of just doing the generators too.
I honestly feel that the only way is to completely rework how generators are repaired. Then we could potentially set every map to Cowshed levels of insanity because those kinds of chases would be way less impactful.
It could work for veterans and long-time players. I mean, I am sure we all remember how to run Old Ironworks of Misery or Torment Creek.
-
Is this thread an illusion or someone actually called Clown "OP"? I refuse to believe my eyes.

This is the real tier list nobody wants you to know about.
This alternative DBD where Pig is the strongest killer is interesting and scary at the same time.
-
@MadLordJack said:
I mean, given that predropping pallets and holding W is such an effective strategy, I think that the gens really are the problem and really do need a rework for everyone's sakes.
Perhaps we could go for an unlikely alternative solution: revert the maps back to their old versions. And not just the graphics, but the loops too.
Maybe giving players some of the old structures back will motivate them to return to a different mentality, as we've discussed before. That might be a fix for this problem.
-
Those scenarios you've described are some of the reasons why I am perhaps the only person in the entire DBD Community that genuinely enjoyed Hatch Standoffs.
Perhaps sometimes they took way too long, but at least both sides had a chance.

And years of survivor nerfs, he went from a fair and fun killer to being very OP
When was Wraith a fair and fun killer? 2016 or at some point after that?
-
Stop reworking is not enough, they should revert every single map rework.
The Realm Beyond is nothing more than a total mess, a monster which destroys what we love while failing to address actual issues, which weren't many to begin with.

I sincerely hope not.

Excuse me? As a veteran player, did you SEE Legion? Christ, that was an awful patch. Map got disabled on some platforms I believe. The killer was god awful to face after a week....please. don't throw away history.
Not to mention that glitch with the infinite loading screen.

While I still think All-Kill was the worst Chapter ever, I have to agree with what you've said here.

bring back the first blight event I wanna milk flowers 😳
Wish I was here for that. Arguably the best event in DBD's history.
-
Roughly 1 month after Freddy's rework, I came to the Forums to see if there was a way to have my killer back. Naive, I know, but it was worth the shot.
I ended up sticking around because I loved to interact with the community, and talk about my favourite game. The friends I've made and the chance to voice my opinions is what brings me here every day.
My initial objective is not complete yet, but I am glad I stayed.

It was pretty cool, but I would give that title to the moonrise event.
It didn't suffer from as many problems as the original hallowed blight, and shook up the gameplay.
This one I remember all too well. I scoured the maps as Old Freddy looking for those lamps.

Ah i remember scorching summer BBQ. It was fun, even if it was a little plain.
Sadly, I wasn't here at the time. I started during Winter Solstice.
But from what I've seen and heard, Summer BBQ was one of the best events ever.

Knock out without an M1 requirement would just be annoying with bubba and like before and encourages slugging.
That is the point, Zeus. It is a perk meant for slugging.

I would love for them to recycle the original hallowed blight, flaws and all.
Definitely a much cooler event than this.
So many options: Hallowed Blight, Scorching Summer BBQ, Howling Grounds, and this list goes on.
-
If they wanted to recycle an event, at least they should have chosen a different one.

@GeneralV Not gonna lie, that fog is seriously ominous. Fog like that changes the whole feel of the game, let alone that it also changes some of the dynamics. I wonder why they got rid of it?
I suppose no one truly knows. Whatever the reason, it was a mistake.

I miss the fog too. DEVs decided to make a pure looping simulator out of a horror game. Stealth is basically gone compared to the time when DBD was released.
Ambience is the worst its ever been, and that is so sad.

@yobuddd said:
On a slightly different but related topic, DBD has built a significant portion of its identity around Dark Mist. We have mist-altering reagents for offerings. We have “fog whisperers” on social media. Devs sign off with “see you in the fog.”
But what we DON’T have is any actual fog!
Ok, fine, there’s sooooome. A little plume here or there to freshen your ankles. Certainly nothing that affects the game. New players aren’t going to think “oh my, so creepy - all this fog!” It’s more of seeing a plume and thinking “something moved. Let’s go see what it is. Oh ,it’s gone.”
It just seems so weak as an integral piece of the game’s identity and lore. It’s like some post-apocalypse game building itself up around the random piles of pebbles and rocks that are really nothing more than scenery.
Worst of all is that we used to have Fog. Maps used to be good, perfect even.
Now they are nothing more than a memory, forever close to our hearts.
