  • Yep. Holding of the box hostage is still a thing that works in the favor of survivors.

I also agree survivors should not be able to see the aura from all the way across the map.

  • I would but the default keys I have memorized by muscle memory and adapted to it. If I veer from it, I'll just be more of a hindrance.

Update feels like straight ass game still lags heavily on last gen ps4

Wonderful. Can't wait to play again and lag hard! I'm seriously so tempted to quit playing for a while. Knowing it's still awful killed my excitement to play against Pinhead.

Haven't finished a match yet, without dcing, but haven't got a penalty yet, so there's that

    There's always time to get BHVR'D. 😂

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Performance on Switch when playing killer seems the same. Same frame drops, same crappy framerate. If I have to turn my camera to track a survivor, then I simply can't track them, fps continues to be that bad.

The opening splash screen no longer seems to cause the fans on my PS4 Pro to go nuts, so that's nice. However, the menu/lobby screens now make the fans go to max immediately, so I worry it's not safe to play DbD at all right now because I may risk it overheating the console. Unlike the splash screen which I can quickly click through, I'm stuck on the lobby screens. So, they fixed one issue but overall made the problem worse.

I swear this game makes me regret not investing in a good PC and it shouldn't be that way, console should run just as smoothly as PC. That's nuts, I'm sorry it's still #########.

  • I haven't gotten to hear it yet, I can't wait!

  • Really?? Can't wait to test it later! I was really hoping he'd get his own separate voice lines before November. I'm pleased! 🤗

  • Nurse. Even rank 20s teabagged me. Not gonna really play her to be honest.

Other than her, Deathslinger, Huntress, Billy, Trickster, Pinhead when I get him.

That's all I can remember from the roster of who I don't play or can't play right now.

I thought with your username, you would have been thrilled with this suggestion. I guess I was wrong...

Lol contrary to apparently popular belief I don't always have myself glued to a gen! Only sometimes. 😂

  • I finally watched Hellraiser all the way through last night and I loved Kirsty! I definitely wish she'd been a survivor. Not a map though because there was nothing really too significant in the first movie to warrant a map and I'm more than happy they didn't go with the Cotton house because I feel that would've been a Haddonfield 2.0. But Kirsty? Definitely would've loved to have her.

  • It really isn't impossible that a full solo team knocks out all 5 bones... It really isn't. Just a rarity. Like iridescent rarity.

If more people did bones or used their brains, situations like that wouldn't happen. And before anyone brings up the fact bone searching takes time away from gens... That's what time evaluation is for. If your team is doing fine with only 2 hooks with 2 gens left to go, look for bones. After a gen is done, do the bones beside it. Bring Small Game, bring Detective's Hunch, just bring something if you don't want to deal with noed. I don't mean this towards the OP btw, I'm referring to the royal "you" if that makes sense. But then there also lies in the issue that if you do bones, team no do gens.... Solo queue is just pain, bro.

I agree a lot of the time solo teammates don't do objectives, they don't do gens unless they know 100% the killer is chasing someone else and they'll hide all match before touching that gen just to be sure. So I'm not surprised a majority of time they don't do bones.

  • Camping may not be okay in your book but it isn't against the rules. There's even some tips in the loading screen against face campers in the mobile version.

  • "Survivors have no incentive to win because the chances are too low." Lololol I am dead. Oh, Sluzzy. You kill me.

  • If they're on PC then nope. I'm on console. Dbd is one game I don't have for my PC that I honestly wish I would've gotten instead of on console but this Huntress was PC yes.

But I'm not surprised though. People get salty over Ruin cleanses all the time, what's stopping them from being salty over a Lullaby cleanse? 😂

  • I wonder if this was the Huntress I faced earlier when I cleansed her Lullaby as soon as I spawned in. 😳

  • Ahahaha ######### it, I'm on team noed. It's a second chance perk for killers, perfect for making up for your mistakes (the survivor version being dead hard) and squads that want to bully. Also really good for teams that just hide all game - great hiders. Sometimes it can come in clutch.

Fun answer though: jUsT dO bOnEs. Literally that's all you have to do. I run Small Game on my Nea for when I don't feel like dealing with noed and want to keep count on if my team is even doing bones in the first place and about a quarter of the time.... No. They are not.

I've heard rumors that the map is gonna be split into three pieces. God, I hope that's true. The map is waaaay to big in it's current form.

I will enjoy this time that R.P.D is disabled, because I won't miss it.

I think I heard that too but dismissed it because I don't have much faith they would actually give the people something they want which is a simple split and I wouldn't complain if it's split more than one way. I think half the community would like it more then because as it is it's awful.

  • @BabuDweet said:

Yeah the devs tweeted about it. I feel like it's gonna be reworked like how badham was with different variants etc...

I dunno if it was disabled due to a possible rework, all the complaints or genuine bugs.

    Or, Maybe all three lol

Yeah the tweet is what tipped me off and knowing BVHR, I wouldn't put it past all 3. LOL but if they're doing variants, that would be so cool I'm not gonna lie. Maybe I'd like the map a bit more.

  • I'm not gonna judge until he's been out for at least a week or two but the change I'm iffy about is the holding of the box hostage. I still think it can be held hostage but we'll see. I didn't have access to the ptb being console so I really can't judge anything until he releases.

  • You know, a streamer brought up a good point. He mentioned that a lot of people kind of ignore the fun aspect of dbd and jump onto the S tier killers just because they're strong. Even then I personally find it less rewarding to play top tier killers who wipe the floor with the survivors without hardly breaking a sweat and more rewarding to play a weaker killer who has to work twice as hard to wipe even a fraction of the floor with survivors.

Streamer in question mentioned what you should really be aiming for is a killer you just find fun despite the tier listing and I agree. So my answer is pretty obvious here also as a lover of Legion who is no secret they're not top tier but I have so much fun with them. Seeing a Bill teabag because hey, it's just a crummy lil Legion they ain't #########. Only to die a few moments later and your team only managed to get one gen done cuz I busted my hump not giving you survivors a breath of fresh air because massive pressure for Legion is huge so you just looked hella dumb popping spammy squats. It's satisfying and just fun.

So B tier all the way.

I think part of this is the terrible lag spikes / frame drops / stutters / overall performance issues that we have to deal with on console. While much of the seems to be Nemmy-related and therefore worse in Nemny matches, I still think that overall as a killer he’s fun.

If they ever fix these problems, I bet these matches will be an absolute pleasure to play!

Yup, you nailed exactly why I don't like going against him. It's less to do with him per sey and more to do with the fact I legitimately can't play against him due to lag spikes / freezes. If they ever fix it, I'd really like the chance to be able to properly learn to dodge his tentacle without freezes. All I want is the chance to dodge it like I can with Pyramid Head for example. And if I still struggle with playing against him then at least I'll know it's a me thing and I suck lol

I'd also like to play him smoothly. Trying the tentacle out freezes which is unfortunate. So I haven't even bothered playing him after 2 matches. This chapter being so bad in terms of performance really killed my enjoyment over having Nemesis as the killer being a big fan of RE. :(

  • I feel you. We're in the same rank (purple; I'm rank 6) and one night, I think it was a couple nights ago, I played 7 matches total as both a solo survivor and as part of a 2 man (3 when one of our pals could join up but he was only in one game with us) and I'm not joking every killer was rank 1. I could tell because it was the sweatiest of matches. I think I went up against 2 rank 1 Blights, a rank 1 Nurse, rank 1 Demo, annnnd I don't remember the others but it was all very sweaty. Didn't escape once that night. If SBMM works, I'll be pleased but I don't hold my hopes too high on much of anything tbh.

  • He's not fun to go against on console so I don't enjoy going against him in the slightest. I want out of the match as soon as it begins but I stick it out until my inevitable death.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

To be fair, that is not even rank based matchmaking either, that is, "hurry, throw the killer in a game because these survivors have been waiting for 5 minutes" game,

This is true. Just slap a killer with barely 100 hours with survivors with 2k hours because the queue times hurried it along... 100% legit.

  • Pyramid Head is becoming a favorite to go against. It's satisfying being able to dodge his waves and loop him for longer than 5 seconds. It's just satisfying to me because he used to be the killer I dreaded going against because he always tunneled me to death. In hindsight though, I was probably a very easy target. Now after he leaves me and downs someone else is less than 5 minutes if he can't get me after a second gen pops I just stand from afar and be like, "I used to be you." To the downed survivor across the way. Mad respect to the Pyramid Heads that destroy me. You gotta respect a good Pyramid Head or anyone actually good at the killer they're playing.

Hag is another one I actually do like going against. I'd rather go against her than Trapper. I respect a good Hag that has good trap placements and know when to chase and corral you to the trapped area. My friends and I went against a Savage Hag who destroyed us that had a nasty build and while they were salty, I was actually saying it was such good stuff man - her traps were placed perfectly, she predicted movement and pathing well and defended her totems damn well (she did us dirty with the Third Seal + Knockout combo) and it was just good. #########. Stuff. Legitmately love to see it. Especially as a lover of that combo myself.

Demo is another one I like going against but lately I'm burnt out on playing against him. I get it though, so many people including myself want to play him now he'll be soon exclusive but man am I burnt out seeing him.

I've also been really getting back into Legion, I forgot how much I really love playing them and they're the closest to a main I probably will ever have but here is where I'm also a bit of a hypocrite. I hate going against Legions. They drag the game out and while I know it's best to take the frenzy stab and not drop pallets, I don't know if I get more annoyed with my teammates who drop pallets like no tomorrow anyway with a Legion with Iri Button of all add ons or Legions who can drag out a game for longer than it has to (me as Legion though I try to make the game not drag out because I know as survivor that's a bit annoying). Plus it's always kind've tedious to always be mending especially if the little s.o.b wants information where your team is lol but I love playing them. So much man.

There is no point to encourage even further Dodging from Killers. Already bad enough that some Killers cherry-pick their games until they find the 4 Solos without Items.

What's so funny about lobby dodging like this, being so nitpicky about what lobby they want that those lobbies that look harmless are usually the ones that either last second swap to keys, flashlights, etc and are toxic (the only thing I do not like is last second key switches but that's neither here nor there). Obviously not all the time but it's just what I noticed when I used to lobby dodge like that. Then in comparison, last night for example I was in a match versus 3 flashlights and not a single clicky clicky - just following me around for flashlight saves which just helped me. There was one teabagging Bill but he died shortly after when it was time. So much for them teabags, eh? I'm veering off topic so anyway.

It has the same thought I think that people would lobby dodge if it was out there that the survivors checked a box they teabag, flashlight click, spam loud noise notifications. I don't mean it seriously BHVR should implement check boxes but I hope you get the point lol it's just dumb imo to lobby dodge.

I really don't understand the lobby dodging of items. Flashlights being the #1 reason people will dodge. Half the time the survivors wielding them are not that great or kill themselves / the team throwing themselves for that juicy beamer save.

  • I'd go into another rant about how much I hate keys but I'm tired of just the thought of keys still existing - it's an exhausting thought. So I'll just say I hope keys find the black hole of no return.

  • Clown on Yamaoka.... That's rough.

SBMM isn't even in effect though until September 7th. I've seen that screen before - when I was a green rank 10 and it put me up to all rank 1's. It's super rough but that's not SBMM. What you're looking at is RANK based matchmaking which is known to notoriously do these kinds of matches which is why so many believe SBMM is needed - to prevent matches like these from occuring where you don't stand a shot.

  • I'm a fan of aquatic horror. Might be hard to implement - the aquatic aspect but I really would love an aquatic themed monster, I'll even settle for a ghost pirate or something with a map of maybe a shipwrecked beach with water of an ocean non interactive.

Second strong desire in this game is a Mexican themed chapter with maybe a La Llorona as a killer. For those that don't know what La Llorona is, it's Spanish for The Weeping Woman. I wouldn't want it from the recent film but dug deep from Mexican culture. We haven't had a Mexican survivor yet and I just think it'd be neat.

Those are my top 2 wants for original chapters. :)

09/05 EDIT: Or a cool idea going off the ghost pirate, for a map could be a ghost ship either ship wrecked or out to sea obviously the sea the ship is on non interactable. Think Resident Evil Revelations ghost ship. That'd be poggers ngl.

The problem is, dead by daylight isnt inherently skillful. The games RNG and things as simple as getting a bad tile setup for your killer can easily cost you the match. On top of the w key and predrop meta being in full force, survivors that want to win will do so in that way. The game is a party game with competitive elements. If things like maps and the meta were fixed and made to not be just objectively bad then I personally wouldn't mind SBMM being added.

But it's not and BHVR is never going to listen to their community about it.

I agree for the most part but I think this game is also about adaption and how well you do with what you're given. Sometimes though like you said RNG can [BAD WORD] you good. Like spawn locations. There's not much a killer can do when all 4 survivors spawn at a different gen so then while the killer is chasing one survivor if they're doing decently at looping him, 3 potential gens can pop for a trade off of a single down then the killer has play a bit scummy to even attempt to make up for the 3 gens they just lost. If the new system takes that into account after the killer only gets say, a 1k out of that bad RNG then that's probably gonna happen a lot being bunked down in "skill" for your next match. At least I think it's basing off amount of kills + escapes... I think. Lol which now that I'm thinking about it, kills and escapes doesn't quite equal skill. A survivor can loop a killer for the duration of the game, do some bones and a gen and die for it.. would the new system count that as a loss in skill then? Lots of questions about this new system honestly.

This also has collectively zero to do this topic thread but I love your username, it's so clever.

  • @stikyard said:

Killer role has been taken far too seriously. 4K is considered a "win". When the game really should strive for a 2 and 2 balance. Meaning that it should be difficult to pull a 4K but, with the meta makes it possible to 4k consistently and, Youtube taught them, that's a win.

This. When I'm killer, I don't care about the 4k, a 2-3k is a win to me but more than a quarter of the killers I play against must slug for that 4k like their life legitimately depends on it.

  • Survivor probably be Kate. For killers I'd say, maybe Legion, Nurse or Spirit. Wraith also has some pretty cool threads.

  • So far I own all the characters. On the killer side, I mostly play: Hag, Pig, Demo, I've been really getting back into Legion so those 3 are the main ones I play. Sometimes I play others if I'm in the mood like Ghostface, Myers, Clown, Twins, Spirit. I don't necessarily main any one killer, I play who I feel but the Hag, Pig, Demo and Legion are the killers I play best imo (cept demo, we're still learning him but he's a lot of fun).

Survivor, again, I don't main anyone. It's whoever I feel like but my most played lately are: Nea, Elodie, Nancy, Quentin.

Imagine complaining about DS after being nerfed.

In the meantime, Camping and Tunneling still remain in the same broken state they have been in.

They... Weren't complaining though? They didn't post an aggressive, angry 20 word letter about how DS needs to be nerfed. They stated they had no issue with it - it was just costing them some hooks / kills and inquired if it should be tweaked. They weren't playing before the nerf, so they didn't experience the bs survivors would pull with DS and they ought to feel lucky as I do that I wasn't playing with the old old DS. I think I'd lose my mind if I had to do the dribbling.

i dont know about op, but i was around for original ds, it was extremely abusable back then. litterally get away free card. it kind of amazes me how people still act like its like it was on release, honestly its very balanced now imo, if you want to keep your ds you have to avoid all work for the team.

The original DS had killers do a thing called dribbling right?? God it seemed rough to be a killer main back then.... Lol but yeah it's very balanced now I think.

  • @FancyMrB said:

DS is in a perfect spot right now ^^ Before it was super abused and I am happy they changed it. I don't think any further changes are required

Same, it's literally quite perfect how it is. How it is currently is how DS should've always been like in the original design. In my opinion anyway.

  • Were you playing before the DS nerf by any chance? I only ask because the DS before the nerf was meta - verrrry abused. I wasn't playing before the old old DS but from what I've heard about it, old old classic DS was very op.

To answer your question though, I think DS is currently fine where it is. It can only be abused now if someone deliberately doesn't do anything for the duration of the 60 seconds but most survivors don't do that. The perk MYC (Make Your Choice) has an almost DS timer built into it. So you use it to gauge the time used until DS is up. But definitely not as abusable as it used to be.

Yes it can but it depends from where you jump.

I am not quite sure what counts. Some people say hills do. I know for a fact that balconies on haddonfield count (bl or not) because I tested it that time.

Here's to hoping I get a random Haddonfield map then lol I'm not gonna subject a poor killer to a map offering just for this one challenge - that's just evil. XD

I jumped off hills too. Jumped off the little ramp like thing on the swamp map, nada.

The fall only needs to cause “max stagger”. It doesn’t have to be from a super high drop like Ironworks top floor.

I've jumped off literally everything I can think of. Max stagger, medium stagger, baby stagger, it ain't taking it. It's been stuck at 1 since the latest tome level opened.

  • @Shaped said:

First time ever, like in tome 2 if I remember correctly, I did it on haddonfield with bl in one go. Poor Plague ;(.

Other times I just play the game normally and it gets done eventually. Usually in a day or two.

So it can be done with balanced? Then why isn't it taking it then?? I should have all 6 by now. It's stuck at 1. :/

  • Yes. Just... Yes. I thought this was just me. The type of survivor I am is totally dependent on which survivor I'm playing. For instance, Nea? Totem hunter. I'll spend most of the match searching totems and doing saves and of course gens. Basically behind the scenes gaming. Meg I'm altruistic. I have WGLF on her and I'm body blocking for days. Jill / Claire is the locker build and I make some head on plays a lot there - also making killers hesitant to check lockers lmao. Quentin is one of the ones I just do best with. I loop decently with him, saves, the whole shebang. I have more escapes with Quentin than any other survivor. I don't do anything too crazy with him, I just play.

Elodie is my go to when I just want to do some crazy builds and be a menace in games. She's usually my sabo girl. I'll sabotage your hooks with Breakout. I loop pretty decently with her too, I have to because killers get really, really annoyed with me to the point where I've been getting face camped or just hard camped. I've never gotten face camped or tunnel visioned as much as when I'm playing Elodie. I mean I'm not complaining, I'm just taking note it doesn't happen as much when playing any other survivors and I don't blame them for camping me lolol I have to play her in the reindeer cosmetic otherwise I'm a potato while playing her. I don't know why it is that way, but it is.

If I'm playing Tapp I'm a gen jockey through and through. I usually have Stake Out on, Fast Track, a toolbox. I do some bones.

I do horribly with Feng, Claudette, Leon, Cheryl for some reason I dunno man.

The ones that can go either way are Nancy, Steve, Kate, Yun Jin.

  • I'm not surprised in the slightest Wraith was #1.

  • I feel you. My emotional stability can crumble if I don't monitor it carefully. It's so easy to get triggered in this game and it's not the game usually that does it, it's the players and what they say behind the game.

I once played with a ttv as a teammate and they eventually died because Clown was hard camping and they made an unwilling trade I guess and time ran out so we had to leave. I go into their chat to say ggs and they immediately start bashing me because I'm console like it was 100% my fault and my fault alone he died and called me a toxic POS just for saying ggs in his chat and I essentially was not welcomed with their chat laughing along making fun of me. This did hurt my feelings. It really did. And that's what I mean by my emotional stability can crumble if I'm caught off guard like that because I got triggered. I don't want to go into the origins of what triggers me but basically being told I was a useless piece of garbage shattered my self esteem and it was a bad week from there. My skin is usually really thick but as I said, I got caught off guard. I took a small break from dbd, played some other games that made me feel warm again and laughed at some YouTube videos and then I slowly came back to dbd but I told myself to not be caught off guard like that again, I'm not going to go into anymore twitch chats to tell them ggs even if the team won. It's not worth getting upset or triggered over. They're just people on the internet and while it's hard to forget that in the moment, it still holds up.

So yeah I guess that's some advice or insight I have. People can be so nasty, it's unbelievable. My friend who does some streaming, he's a super funny guy and we played against another streamer who was our killer and he got so pissed off at all the pallet saves, protection hits and my friend's 360's he was nasty enough to call my friend racial slurs, being a racist and calling him names - reported him immediately. It's just awful. Like I said, it's definitely not worth it to go into Twitch chats anymore. If you still want to, you can get a feel for the streamer before saying anything but this won't guarantee there won't be any hidden salt if you did anything in particular.

I hope you feel better, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

It's nice to hear that. I was just chatting about Meg with a friend in another thread. As we both observed, beauty is subjective, and I honestly don't know if it's my being a straight male, a male in his 40s, a longtime fan of ginger girls (Ygritte, hello) with a couple of previous ginger girlfriends or what, but I've always strongly championed Meg as a character who is, in my opinion, totally beautiful. My favorite cosmetic in the game is her Fortune Teller outfit and I honestly can't look at it and understand how anyone could find her ugly. She reminds me of Claire Danes from around the Romeo and Juliet years.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6A9PJUQON3LT/romeo372.jpg

Beyond that though I just plain like her as a character and have never had any consistent issues with any other players who use her. I hear people talk about her representing poor or clueless / selfish players and I guess I just haven't seen it. "Rockstar Meg" is a good way to put it, if anything I'm seeing Megs going for saves, getting the exit gates, always on gens, doing loops. Meg is one of the most regularly played characters that I see and if anything my impression is that most people use her very well, not the other way around.

The most consistently "bad" survivors that I see (based on how well the people in my games tend to do with them) are Bill and Ash. The only characters I've come to expect toxic behavior from are Feng and, to a lesser extent, Steve. Meg? All I can say is that the people who hate her are apparently meeting entirely different people than I am; from what I've seen she wouldn't be anywhere near the top of any "bad" list.

Beauty is most definitely subjective, I agree 100%. If everyone on this planet was attracted to blondes with blue eyes, slim body or six pack, it'd be a very dull world to live in. Everyone has their own taste. You don't see a lot of ginger characters a lot and it's always nice to see that. Especially in an athletic female such as Meg. I wish now they'd include a Hispanic character and we're golden. My fave Meg outfit combo I think is the white top with the athletic bags over it if that makes sense?? With the white skirt. She has soooo many good cosmetics, even the fortune teller one! The hair is just so pretty, I love it.

This I can mostly agree with. Bill's imo are usually potatoes. I rarely see a godly Bill. Same with Ash. Laurie's also usually tend to think they're better than what they are. I've yet to come across a godly Laurie. They teabag then go down 5 seconds later. Steve are always toxic for me. So are most Nea's. And never trust a Nancy with the little Christmas sweater with the pants with pink shoes and ponytail. They'll loop you for days. Bunny Fengs are either toxic or just adorable, no in between. I don't like to judge immediately based on character in the lobby when I'm killer but I'm never surprised either when the stereotype is proven in my face lol Meg's are generally pretty awesome though. The bad Meg's are only in a small pool in my opinion.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 12
