Flip Flop happens to be one of my favorites with Slippery Meat. Flip Flop saves my hand some pain if it works and when it works, it has saved me quite a few times.

If you assume someone might be hacking/cheating, please report them in the game and you can send additional evidence to support. Read here for more: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

Hello, we do not discuss any bans or whatsoever on here. To appeal your Discord ban, please check your DMs with Elemental to see who banned you and contact them.
-
Well, I will redirect you to post here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs < Bugs go here, including sound bugs.
(Also I wanna note, I'm not a dev, but thanks for the ping!)

Hi peeps, quick question what classifys as ingame harassment and is it a reportable offence if you have evidence ?
Hey, if it's hardcore insults and slurs, those can be reported. Death threats and death wishes are also reportable. Typical in-game banter that's harmless, that is not reportable (e.g. "######### you/off" would not be reportable).
Use the end-game tool to report people. That is mandatory for a report to go through. Here are the in-game rules that describe some of the thing sin a bit more details: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

You may have been too far away and it ended the chase, but if you believe it's a bug, please report it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

Please try to have civil debates without attacking each other. You are free to dislike something or comments being made, but attacking each other for it is not okay.
Considering how the thread has went until now, it's best to just lock it as it seems to keep getting out of hand each time it calms down a bit.
I want to say, this was meant jokingly and not seriously. It was never meant to be harmful in any shape or form. A lot of things about the game are subjective. You can feel strongly about one thing, but others may not.
If a survivor wants to spend time at the palette tbagging, that's time wasted to run away and get away from the killer, same for the killer who decides to stand at the hook smacking the survivor - that's the killers choice to also waste time not going after the other players.
You are free to dislike those mechanics still and give feedback about them, but attacking and insulting each other for it is not okay and considering multiple comments had to be deleted, this thread will be locked. Please always remain respectful to each other - it helps much better with discussions. People have different opinions and they always will.
-
Hey, currently it is only possible between Stadia and Steam. Switch will be joining soon, but currently it is not possible to make it available on other platforms.
-
After rereading the question a few times:
Please avoid linking other people accounts to your BHVR account as you'd be breaking the Dead by Daylight EULA and the EULA of all platforms the game is available on.
Attempting this would be breaking those EULAs, so do not do this.
For more information about cross-progression in general, check this out: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/sections/360011470571-BHVR-Account-Cross-Progression
I advise you reading your platforms EULA and the Dead by Daylight EULA again.

It's absolutely horrendous. It's much more convenient with the information viewable as it is now, and it could be made much better with a compromise like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/J9U7BDE9JSP3/20210108-191518.jpg
I can't imagine why you'd have to spread out the entire UI around the screen to accommodate some unknown future UI additions.
They most likely referred to features that wouldn't make sense right there on the bottom left where it is right now. I'd also like something customizable, so I can adjust things to the way I have my focus on most of the time - which is the right of the screen.

I found this tweet so I'm safe to use reshade :D
I'd advise to email them as this is from 2017 - back then only certain versions of ReShade / SweetFX were allowed, so your best bet would be to email EAC and ask if ReShade / SweetFX are still whitelisted or not.
-
@Udub said:
Yes please. Make it optional. What is the drawback to enabling both?
When things are added, they have explained that the current UI makes it hard for them as it limits the devs as to what they can add, the new UI allows them the freedom to look at new changes and mechanics they could add.
Having both enabled would mean trying to figure out how to update the old one too, which is also development time spent on it then.
Current one being customizable would be interesting though.

If a survivor prefers to play stealthy, of course they’re going to cleanse.
Yea, a lot of times when I see this happen, it's when they play stealthy. If I face a Plague, I tend to just mute my game or make it very quiet (I cannot stand the noises) and not cleanse still, 'cause I know it's best not to.
But other players have other strategies and may enjoy different playstyles, too. It's also okay to feel upset about something, too.

I don't wanna risk getting banned because i used something that could potentially trigger eac. As i said if that fw would ever get banned he'll be unbanned in seconds, while if some peasant like me would get banned noone would ever do anything.
No, if a FW gets banned, they'd not get unbanned.
It is a use at your own risk, but it is not something we actively ban for. They devs reasoned in the past they don't want to add crosshair for Huntress to make her not too easy to play as she has a learning curve. Not as much of a learning curve like e.g. Nurse or Blight, but she does have one.
-
Basically, it falls under a use at your own risk kind of situations. If EAC bans you, there is nothing we can do for you.
-
Please be patient - we do not discuss bans on the forums, support is your only outlet for that. If you have only just sent a ticket, give it some time. We also just had the holidays.
If you are consistently sending tickets, please do not do this anymore as it'll cause your ticket to fall back in the queue.
-
I am sorry for the experience you have made and that there were some issues that hindered you from processing the report.
Bu I want to point out the forum moderation team are not the ACMs - we have a dedicated team for dealing with in-game reports and support tickets related to in-game reports.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/66835/recording-evidence-for-your-player-report These are two links I suggest reading.
Having a sub-forum dedicated to report players would result in:
- breaking our own rules
- people would not be posting in there, but everywhere else, essentially a lot of people would be warned when it could have been easily avoided
- a lot of time and effort for the ACMs to check the Forum additionally with the in-game reports and support tickets
- this would essentially be valuable time lost for possibly checking the same instances
- I want to also point out the sheer amount of reports the ACMs already get - there are over thousand of reports daily (we have a lot of daily players - that's gonna be a lot of reports!)
- people not reporting as some prefer the official route instead of having to make forum account
This is not feasible for both teams to uphold. The moderation team would have no way to confirm if something was already reported through the in-game system + support.
I'm closing the thread due to the risk of people possibly posting their cases with names visible, which would be going against our rules.

The undetectable buff seems so good I just don’t see a reason to leave tier one. Ya I can’t chase as good but I’ve found myself walking right up on healing survivors and grabbing them while they’re working on generators lol
I guess it’s possible I’m just not good at chasing and so I find myself more successful staying stealthy
If it's how you enjoy the game, go for it and play that way, but it definitely makes it way harder as you're slower and your lunge is minimal. Generally tier 2 at least is recommended, but tier 1 for sure has it's fun moments.
@MadLordJack said:
Yes. It's just a debuff. T1 moves too slow and has no lunge, which means you ain't looping. And, well, unless you have Scratched Mirror on a small indoor map you aren't getting anything done against any survivor with the slightest experience in DbD.
If you want to play Stealthy Myers, just use Monitor and Abuse. It takes your T2 terror radius down to 8m but otherwise you play as a 115 killer. Honestly, I win more games playing mostly T2 with a single T3 pop for pressure than I do playing the "proper" way.
Actually, I'd contest the first part - Scratched Mirror with Boyfriend's Memo + Devour Hope can be a nasty combination on indoor maps if you play it right. Many jumpscares and it can really help. To some degree I'd suggest Ruin too as it keeps the survivors occupied by looking for them. Even experienced survivors can be very confused where to find the generators on indoor maps, which gives you a big advantage, especially if you hide and wait once you know which direction a survivor is walking into.

The killer has been holding this girl in the corner for over 10 minutes now, if we open the gates she will die if we don't are we holding the game hostage because he could easily just down her and hook her but is refusing to do so? Who is wrong in this situation? I don't wanna get banned for holding the game hostage by not opening the gate but I also don't want to be "teaming" with the killer by letting her get killed by end game collapse? IDK why he is refusing to hook her when he easily could.
Opening the gate and getting out won't get you banned - you're not teaming with the killer in that moment. Considering when you posted the thread, I assume the game has ended. But otherwise, the killer is the one holding the game hostage as he could move or down the survivor at any time.
For the future, I highly advise you to immediately get out if you notice a situation like this - the survivor that's being bodyblocked in a corner will benefit much more out of this as the game can finally come to an end instead of sitting there and waiting, 'cause the killer most likely is not going to move
I'd report in this case and follow the procedures listed here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
-
At this point the thread has run it's course and other things but the thread are being discussed.
-
There are many issues and bugs that affect multiple platforms - having the official forum helps us figure that out and see if an issue might affect one or multiple platforms. USers from both conse and PC can report and discuss the issues together. There were many complaints by those people that they don't feel heard by us when it comes to reporting issues.
This platform (official forum) offers all users the ability to report their issues and figure out if some of those are platformwide or just affect one platform. There aren't only Steam players - we have Microsoft Store, Xbox, Playstation, Switch and Stadia. The forum helps players to figure things out together if they are from different platforms and it greatly helps the QA and moderation team when it comes to reporting and looking at those bugs.
Steam Forums remain open for General Discussions, searching for players and for specific language sections. However, bug reports and technical issues, which it's imperative that we are aware of, will continue to be posted on the Official Forums only.
I will be locking the thread then - it has been explained multiple times before and now too. It is a decision that was made for multiple reasons and not one that was made easily.
-
If they are breaking the rules by using slurs or anything that could be an hardcore insult, please report them in the game. Read more here about our game rules: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
I'm also closing the thread to avoid any possible name and shame and name drops - those threads tend to cause that alongside with the bashing of people who create content for the game. They're humans and players just like you.

and there is nothing wrong with doing that; however banning literally any discussion of anything possibly related to them when there is literally no other available outlet is ridiculous. Just because moderation doesn't want to moderate something; doesn't mean everyone else should just be barred from discussion over it.
Also your comment about steam entirely misses the point. It's not about those other options not existing; if people have to come here to actually report a bug or the likes that is totally 100% understandable, and a tighter use of resources. That is not a problem.
Locking any and all forms of discussion however; especially when it's unnecessary to do so just because there was so much a mention of a bug or someone asking the community for help with something- is another thing entirely.
It's being done to a point of censorship, since you effectively won't let anyone discuss anything. We can't even talk about trying to figure something out, because it will be locked; and told to be posted as a bug report here. Thing is, we can't because we need to talk and work together to actually figure it out to do the reports- but you won't allow discussion- and if we try and have a discussion over here, on these forums, and in the bug report section then no discussion will ever be had and you know that.
But it is not censorship like you claim it is - you say people "just" want to suggest them, but no. I lock a lot of these threads when I see them. The threads you speak of are almost always bug reports and technical issues being reported. The literal things described in the link here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1638675549021920270/
What you are suggesting is essentially suggesting to have bug and tech reports on there again - because that's what the result will be and then we're back to the teams having to spend time and energy on something that's much easier in one place. Discussion about (current) bugs is essentially reporting them. If you experience a bug in the game... then you can easily report it here. You can have discussions in the bug reporting section here. I'd advise you to take a peak in our bug-reporting sub-forum, as you can easily see people do comment on the threads and see if they can figure out repro steps, too. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
-
This decision was made consciously to avoid the stress of having to go back and forth by the dev and moderator team. You do this each time and it turns out, it was already reported here possibly, this is still time wasted nonetheless. This is why we closed the bug-reports and technical issues. It makes easier for both teams and is much cleaner than having the teams go back and forth for the same things. It is essential time that's otherwise time spent going back and forth possibly to find the same bug reports and issues on the other platform.
You have to keep in mind, QA still needs time to figure out those issues and what's going, it is also time we as a moderation team lose that could be spent somewhere else. We decided, considering the time both teams had to spend going back and forth, that it was for the best to move it all to the official forum.
There is no censorship or whatsoever - it has been communicated the very moment the decision was made and there is even a pinned post about it that explains it has been moved. https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1638675549021920270/
Here is the announcement when the Forum was officially announced and that everything regarding support is being moved on there: https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/1640915206466079672/
It is highly unlikely that this will change, as we didn't make this decision on a whim. It wasn't a easy one, as we are aware of the fact many used the Steam Forum for it, but the Steam Forum is also restrictive - it only allows Steam players to report issues and bugs. Asking non Steam Players to buy anything worth 5$ at least was not feasible. A lot of people didn't get the chance to report their issues, because they had to make a Steam account and to be able to post on Community Hubs, buy something for at least 5$.
This is why we made the decision to move everything to the official forums.

After reading through this thread, it seems like the op wants to disagree more than consider other people opinions! This is a open discussion board, if you post a thread, expect people to have different opinion from yours. There always will be people who have different opinions and those can be discussed. Creating a thread with the sole intention of only receiving agreement is not what a discussion board is about.
Not only that, but this suggestion of forcefully closing apps like Discord, Teamspeak, Skype, etc. would enforce a whole new set of rules with their own complications (there are laws about and restrictions about it, too). Disabling people peripherals simply wouldn't work and what you are describing is equivalent to a malware, possibly.
Also, nothing stops people from calling their friends with their phone, they can still use Discord etc. on phones and some people do use the phone apps to talk to the people they play with.
-
I highly advise you, op, that you take others disagreements into accounts - people can still disagree with you on ideas. That does not mean they are being rude or aggressive towards you. Disagreements are a normal part of discussions, so people are free to say they might not like an idea and don't think it'll be a good fit in the game. For others, always remain respectful and civil. People can make their threads, so try to not come in to just bash their ideas or whatsoever.
I can already confirm this won't happen - the devs have confirmed they won't put anything in relation to real life into the game, e.g. with Plague they created their own complete "religion" per se around her.
This means, anything like the devil himself, whichever you are looking at, as there are different kinds depending on the mythology and religion you're looking at, won't be added into the game really. It may be similar to something we have, but it won't ever be the same.

Why would it make console lag? The series S and X are optimized.
It wouldn't just be a console thing. DBD also has minimum specs, so things like that could also effect systems on the lower end of the minimum spec. The moonlight offerings also caused issues with lighting, which hindered them creating maps with other lighting or maps with even something like rain, which was possible after disabling it (e.g. Huntress Red Forest map).
It'd be a cool system for sure. But the possibility of lag for a lot of players is risky. Not everyone has a high end PC. More people have a low end PC or own a console. There are certain type of scenes in games that tend to be laggier than others, e.g. huge crowds, changing weather, etc. Rain is a good example in games. It tends to drop FPS for people
-
Hey, due to the thread being tinted a bit negatively, we've decided to close it to avoid any rule breaking by name and shame. After some time people generally name drop people, which is breaking the rules or they become heavily negative towards content creators of any kind and may start hinting at those they are talking about.
Streamers are players and humans like everyone else is. Just because they stream it does not mean they are good.
Otherwise, happy new year!!

It can be used in a way to confuse the killer where you are going. e.g. blind, walk past the killer when they are breaking the pallet (you start blinding them while they are breaking the pallet) - it can confuse some killers, but not all, but it is a way to use it.
It can be annoying to some people, but granted, different things can be annoying to different people. It is a game mechanic just like camping is.

@Gay Myers (Luzi) I noticed you moved this post to "Off-Topic."
While a literal interpretation might suggest as much, the entire post (and its title) is a satirical metaphor for the current state of DBD and the outliers whose strategical approach--compounded with the tools at their disposal--can make playing killer an altogether unenjoyable experience.
When read comprehensively, this post is very on-topic.
I can read, thank you, but the way it is written has confused people and makes it more off topic than on topic.
-
HEy, please post any bugs here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs Thank you!

If you assume someone is cheating or hacking, please report them in the game. Read the game rules for more information though to avoid false reporting: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
Please always make sure 100% they are not running perks and/or add ons that could be causing the situation you thought may have been cheating. If this is the case, don't report them - if you genuinely think they have been cheating in any shape or form and you have checked all the factors, report them to make sure and send additional evidence to support. More information listed in the game rules.
-
If no one was forced or griefed into it, it generally is okay, but it always needs to be looked at if all parties were participating in it or not.
Also, the report system works, but keep in mind it's people working through all of the reports on a case by case basis and there are thousand of players reporting all sorts of things daily, including false reports.
They are looked at and not thrown away like some want to believe. Sometimes people report things that have not broken any rules or keep sending false reports, because they think it should be bannable - that is still time the ACMs need to spend looking through said reports.
-
You have to request a refund with the platform you got the game on, but as it is a gift, you most likely you can't get one.
-
The thread has run it's course - the killer decided to bodyblock a survivor in a corner and giving them no option to leave. It was the killers choice, they are the one griefing. This is not the right thread to make a it a survivor versus killer thing. The killer is breaking the rules - they're completely denying one player of the game to play the game at all. Even if it wasn't for 30 minutes like it is in this case. For those saying all survivors need to be bodyblocked for it to count: This is false. One is enough, like in this case.
Whether or not their friends ran around or not - the killer had all the time in the world to start moving and chasing them. Ultimately, the killer made the choice to stand around and bodyblock a survivor in the corner. They could have moved, but didn't.

Happy sharky holidays!

Whatever you want to do in regards of the game is ultimately your choice, if anything doesn't make you feel good and actually causes you to feel really bad, take the necessary actions to protect yourself.
In regards of your AC question: Once you have purchased them on your account, it is not possible to transfer them onto someone else's account.
To everyone in general: If you share experiences, please don't go too in depth into specific kind of addictions especially as some are highly sensitive issues and are not fit for a gaming forum.

Happy Holidays to all of you from a constantly exhausted shark! This year has been hard on everyone, everyone has lost something this year, but I hope just for a little bit we can finally sit down and just relax and enjoy the simple things.
We may not get to spend the holidays with family in person, I certainly know I can't go to the usual festivities of my family which always were very big (and exhausting and stressful), but technology has come so far that we can sit down and talk through other means. Enjoy each others company in new ways, have a nice cup of tea/coffee/cacao, whatever floats your boat. Treat yourself with a nice meal. Spend some hours with no technology, read a book, light some candles (before you go to bed, please make sure to blow them out!).
The other option is to ofc play a game that happens to allow you to hang people up on a hook. That option is also available, for sure. 🦈🦈🦈
Have a shark whale hug:

Hey, please remain respectful and it's only going to be about original characters when it comes to adding them. Also please be very mindful of what you comment, as some of the things can be possibly unintentionally offensive. Even if you think it's a fact - please try to think how it comes off to people and again, the statement is for Dead by Daylight original characters that are not licensed.
https://www.twitch.tv/deadbydaylight/clip/HyperGloriousSquirrelDeIlluminati Please listen to this, too. The want to make sure it's done right.
-
There is no cross progression between PS4 and Steam. Right now it's just Steam and Stadia, Switch is gonna be added soon.
-
You have to report them in the game, which is mandatory and any additional evidence can be sent to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com Read here for more: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
And please note, those are people working on those reports and over thousand of players report others daily. Claiming they never ban anyone is simply an untrue statement. It may simply take a bit for them to get to it as it's handled on a case by case basis, but they take everything very serious. Insulting other people, especially using slurs, is not tolerated in any way.
