Ok, I read the link. Thanks for the feedback!
You're very welcome, thank you for taking the time to read, I really appreciate this and I hope this can go toward you all's creative process when fine tuning Plague :)

Yay, Plague my main is A tier smack in the middle. Hopefully with a little improvements she can be S tier (C'mon Plague, you can do it)

I personally think they are both fun. They have different playstyles... one is focused on damage (Plague) the other is a delayer (Legion). If you already like Pig-style delay tactics, Legion might be the one for you.
I agree, @Almo may you please check out this suggestion regarding improvements to the plague gameplay experience?

What Plague needs are more negatives to being fully sick, so that survivors are pushed to cleanse. I mean, the current meta against Plague is like the old Legion meta, don't heal and rush generators.
Very True, a decrease in survivor action speed would be great. It would be similar to Freddy's Power. Whoever is infected has a percentage decrease to repair, altruism, and cleansing.
As for the survivors way of dealing with Plague, I'm not sure there's much they can do. It seems well balanced for counterplay from the survivors.
Maybe they should allow 1 fountain to be corrupted at the start of the match.
These seem very solid to me.

Can you elaborate? If you mean decreasing the distance of the vomit, then I don't agree. That wouldn't be a good change.

@Gardenia I'm honestly thinking of finally picking up plague, nurse (console) and spirit so thanks for the tips, going to revert to a noob killer for a while while I learn like I did with LF (I'm strongest with Myers, Freddy, Hag and Wraith in that order and used to play them as a sort of "team" competitively through the ranks)
Nice, someone else who appreciates discordance :) I use it on my Mikey to control gens, track survivors who think it's smart to stay in groups/rush gens and know when to cut a chase to return to gen protection (preferably with a ready to go EW3).
I was honestly thinking of a similar playstyle with plague, utilising object infection to prevent/notify me of gen taps (but wouldn't work on already infected) etc and increased effectiveness addons . I'll definitely try corrupt, haunted and discordance together, might try out some other perks for the 4th because I'm not a massive fan of ruin personally. Thanks again for the advice and I hope she does actually get some buffs eventually though (reduced action speed/maybe exhausted or other debuffs? etc while infected and restore her charging speed)
Oh you're welcome, have fun! :)

I got a new plague in a survivor match the other day, I felt so bad for her, she was so cute/funny (she did the full 360 into the sky at one point) and wasn't too bad overall but she didn't understand how short the lunge is. But she did have the advantage of us having a dumb Meg, I was on a gen with another survivor and we had like 2 seconds left until it was done and a sick/broken Meg comes along and touches it for a second, we all got sick and then Meg cleansed instantly...I think we all wanted to throw Meg on a hook...
I'd like to learn her more, but her power just isn't threatening enough to me and as a result I'm not sure how she does against more skilled survivors. What builds do you use and how much success do you have through the ranks?
Lol oh Meg... XD
I typically run builds surrounding Gens. My perks are Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Discordance, and Haunting Grounds although I'll swap for Dark Devotion.
What I typically do is vomit on as many gens , pallets, windows, and totems as I can to add a layer of protection on them so survivors won't be encouraged to work on them or use them too early, throw this in with Corrupt intervention and Ruin and it heavily stalls the match. Discordance helps me narrow down where to go, so I can vomit on all of them and prevent some type of teamwork.
The add-ons I typically use are the ones that increase vile effectiveness, and that increase the amount of time the vomit stays on objects (Windows, Totems, and Gens).
I typically use Vile Corruption during the end game, or when I'll know someone's going to get the other off of the hook.
I'm no expert but this has been giving me good results. Spreading the sickness not just at the survivors but in the environment helps to stack the debuff and weakens them faster.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65036/reasons-you-should-play-the-plague
I think you have the right ideas in mind when you say that people should play Plague and I would absolutely agree if survivors wanted to cleanse in the first place.
She can be incredibly fun when survivors actually give you the corrupt purge but I find that if survivors never cleanse then I just end up having a very boring game and not have any chance to utilize her power whatsoever.
Broken isn't very threatening to survivors on its own because if you get a map like temple of purgation, ormond, haddonfield, disturbed ward to name a few then survivors will never feel threatened enough to want to cleanse as it doesn't get in their way.
You mentioned that you bring the apple addons which it's a great thing to have at least one fountain but my question is, should you really need addons in order to actually get the chance to use your power? Plague has an interesting power but it's ruined by simply being optimal.
I agree with everything you said. No you shouldn't need to run add-ons and yes she does have glaring weaknesses, hopefully the devs look into buffing her "just lil bit" so that way survivors can't have so much control over an aspect of her power

Instant downs do not scare survivors on maps that are poorly designed. If the map is badly designed they can still loop you for a long time and that's why corrupt purge is deadly. Why do you think more and more survivors refuse to heal anymore and just focus on generators to make Adrenaline can kick in? Plague can apply broken but without corrupt purge she isn't that great because broken doesn't hinder the survivor's ability to rush gens or loop.
If survivors are just using the no heal meta, being broken wouldn't make a difference to them.
You all make very good points, however I decide to bring either Blessed Apple or Ashen Apple every so often the higher I get in rank just so I can at least have one pool of corruption.
I fine Corruption much useful towards end game than anything.

What "it's no fun in high ranks" actually means is, "I can't bully the killer there and it's only fun when I win".
But yeah, it is a big problem. Especially when it's Fog Whisperers doing it off stream.
100% agree, hopefully with their introduction of leaderboards (which I believe they said was coming soon) it will either replace or at least revise the current ranking system.
@Kiskashi said:
It's not even just deranking on purpose though (but it does happen, there's another problem though), I personally don't play enough to rank up (because of the new pipping requirements it takes longer and I play sporadically). I was rank 1 regular on the old system but hated pipping up from 10-1 in one session. Now it almost feels overdone because newer killers actually working up and not from resets get tougher survivors and vice versa.
As an example I had rank 13 and rank 4 killer as a survivor at rank 12-10 on the weekend, there was no difference, if anything the rank 13s are more difficult to deal with (on both sides). I played as a rank 15 killer, got demolished by a rank 13 squad and then got green/purple rank potatoes the next match. It's the season reset that's not helping, I'd rather a 2-3 month reset or something to balance ranks a little better for people who don't play daily for hours, what is the point of rank reset anyway anymore?
I'm guessing it's to keep ppl investing in playing, which I understand in theory but there is a huge flaw with this ranking system. And to be reset every month with no type of incentive of reaching rank 1....it's tedious and unenjoyable for me.

Burger King Myers gives me an actual headache just thinking about it, like physical pain. Thanks for bringing back the horror of watching streamers play that build.😭🤢
On the note of this thread though, plague does have the style and sass of a queen. That slap after the mori tho. No question. Hag, spirit and nurse are absolutely amazing ladies (where's pig and huntress I wonder) but plague is sass queen.
Lol that slap is everything, I never thought I'd say this but she is most graceful and elegant killer I've ever played or seen.

I, for one, LOVE her Lore. She has a unique story.
The thing that intrigues me the most is that if she's the oldest killer, what has she been doing this entire time before getting taken to the campfire.
And I believe that the Entity was one of the Gods she prayed to that answered her prayers, it almost always takes the killers at their brink of death.
I believe that as well, and also this gives us more information on the origins of the Entity.
My only other unanswerable question is, she's the oldest killer yes. But is she the FIRST?
That's the really interesting part

I'm not finding it a huge problem to pip with her, now that I have a few levels (30 atm) and some reasonable Perks for her to use. The first 20 levels though, I depipped or got a lucky safety in every match. You have to really adjust your gameplay depending on if the Survivors are cleansing themselves or just running around Broken.
It might be something to do with the one-hit downs, especially if the Survivors aren't cleansing at all. I remember Billy having issues because chainsaw hits weren't giving enough points towards the emblem. If you want to pip more, stretch the match out a bit. I've found that more chases = pips. If the match is over too fast, I'll be lucky to safety with her.
Thank you so much
-
@MegMain98 said:
I don’t find it difficult to pip. It is a little more difficult to get a double pip with her.
She doesn’t get as many bloodpoints as other killers because she gets barely any deviousness bloodpoints. I have yet to get 32,000 BP in a match with Plague.
For some reason, I keep not getting an emblem in defending my gens even though one game that was literally all I did, is there a bug or something? What am I doing wrong? I've deranked from 9 to 14 now just with her and because of this...
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Ugh, again (because I can’t seem to get it through heads) relying on a passive way to mitigate gen rush to focus purely on chases is always going to regularly leave you feeling sorry and angry at how a match turned out. Not all of them. But regularly. Using ruin is a crutch, and is akin to survivors expecting at some stage there will be a passive way gens can be repaired for them implemented into this game, which will NEVER happen. BHVR does not need to do something about gen repairs. You as killer are meant to do something about gen repair during the match.
- choose an area. Control it.
- Maintain gen awareness. I.e. have a guesstimate of the gens repair progress that are vital to protect and which you can momentarily be away from due to no repair progress.
- Dont worry about the gens outside of your 4 or 5 gen cluster.
- Don’t let any chases or loops take you too far away from and/or too much of your time away from gens you must protect.
- Worry about downs and hooks in reasonable proximity to those gens, capitalising on survivor recklessness and desperation.
- You have a damage gen interaction. Use it. As. Often. As. Necessary. Let them know you are not letting them repair those gens.
Ruin is meant to COMPLIMENT an effective gen patrol, NOT be in lieu of a sensible gen patrol so you can chase like a rabid dog. . That and the hope that it wastes at least 1 survivors time trying to find the totem.
It seems counter intuitive, but it’s surprising just how much your down, hook, and sacrifice rate will go up when you abandon more chases and abandon more loops to prioritise gen protection.
Very well spoken

What's fun about a killer who waits for people to get hurt? Yet people like trapper.
Tbh, I think trapper now needs an additional power in addition to his usual one. He was the first killer of DBD so naturally he'll be an oldie but goodie, however he needs to be updated regularly to keep up with the ever expansive and increasingly complex DBD of 2019 onward.

@No_Mither_No_Problem said:
If you think Legion is bad, why would you ever play Plague? Her power is just Feral Frenzy without the tracking, the stall, the hit chains, and the instantaneous injury, while the bonus she gets can not only be denied by not cleansing, and not only heals the Survivors, but also requires her to go out of her way to where a corrupted altar is, sacrificing whatever pressure she may have in order to become a bootlegged Huntress for one minute. Meanwhile, Legion is the second best Killer for M1 mindgames, while Plague is the worst, save for 110 Killers.
Plague is literally just a B tech Legion. I don't know how they did it, but she is actually, physically, unironically just a worse Legion.
Well I'll play "worse Legion" then lol

I'm starting to main plague now, Legion isn't doing it for me anymore. I rather like her. She has the potential to be a very high killer

There's two conditions.
- The collapse cannot be active already.
- The gates need to be powered.
Awesome thank you so much, I was unsure of the conditions, now I can increase pressure by creating that time limit
-
@Peanits said:
You can always open the gate yourself if you want to use it to your advantage. For example, if you have Blood Warden and the survivors are leaving the gates at 99%, you can always open a gate by yourself to force it to start. You actually have more control in that scenario than you used to.
See I think I've tried doing that and I didn't see a prompt or anything. Is there some special condition?
-
@Peanits said:
If there is another survivor near the hook, you do not receive a penalty to your emblems. You would not be penalized if someone sprints over to the hook before you can leave.
Thank you, good to know

Anyway, if I'm complaining let me complain darn it lol. Need a place to vent from these sucky matches I've had as killer the past 3 games haha

@thesuicidefox said:
Also why is it such a big deal the guy gets saved? If you decide to tunnel them then they die faster than if they just sat on the hook. Plus there is a second person there not doing gens that you can chase. Maybe even slug the guy that got saved and go for the guy that saved.
I really don't understand this "but I can't let them save the guy from the hook EVER" mentality killers have. Camping is the WORST way to slow down the game and apply pressure. Go after multiple survivors and slug them. THAT is how you apply pressure. I could understand if it's a situation where you definitely need the guy dead, or like an Exit Gate is open, but 95% of the time you don't need to camp and a dude getting saved near you is good for you if you play it right.
Perhaps I wasn't clear in my initial thread, I'm more so talking about the swf with meta perks that are almost darn near impossible to catch, then as soon as you turn the corner *boom* saved. I reluctantly don't want to stay near the hook but their aggressive playstyle leaves me feeling like I have to stay around it.
-
@PolarBear said:
If survivors keep flocking to the hook take advantage and proxy camp the hook.
Thanks I try to but I always get called a camper so move away from it immediately, the problem is that it feels like I'm just letting them save deliberately and it happens before I'm even fully away from the hook lol
-
@Karl_Childers said:
You are clearly a camper, change your play style to one that requires skill if you don’t like it. What you are describing doesn’t even give you a penalty, so it’s pretty obvious you aren’t being truthful when you see “I’m not a camper”.
I'm really not, but whatever. What you eat doesn't make me crap lol
-
Hell no
-
Agreed
-
My build is a slow burn, I use Corrupt Intervention paired with Ruin to grant much time, Dark Devotion to confuse with my terror radius and to approach survivors fast with FF, and bamboozle to block exits.

See your better than me, when Valentine's day came about I was hoping Julie and Frank would get some V-day cosmetics lol, I usually switch out the masks alot too, with Julie I have a bit more options for the torso though which I do appreciate lol

Frankly I think he's fun and unique currently. And the fact that he still has roughly the same pick rate means there's people who agree and play him because they find him fun.
I respect your opinion, however I don't think those are people who find him fun, I believe those are people who are previously legion mains and still playing him because they want to and because they're highly customizable. Not because of fun.
-
@ClogWench said:
Considering his pick rate and win rate are about the same I'd say it's not that Legion isn't fun, it's that those complaining about him are a loud minority.
Regardless, personally he feels even more generic now than before. No sense if uniqueness. Part of the appeal for me at least was his speed and fluidity when in chase of FF. Now that that's gone he feels very homogenized and his power at the moment isn't very utilized.
I like the direction they're going in, leaning him more towards tracking, however more changes need to be made to him to make him unique again, because if I wanted to stall and just stick to tracking, we could just play doctor, 115% Ms is fine although it seems like a bandaid fix to me. I could've gone without it, if they had placed greater emphasis on the potency of his power.

I respectfully disagree, I think landing hits is completely in the killer's hands. Like I've been playing a ton of Legion since the rework and I've maybe missed 2 or 3 times? And every time they have been my fault.
Like I said though I'm in favour of adding back his old vaulting speed.
Not sure what you mean by it was 4 before? I thought he never got punished for misses...?
I appreciate your candor.
I mentioned it being 4 before, because he was allowed 4 swings before his meter completely drained, it subtly symbolised the members of legion being able to swings 4 times in quick succession.
-
@ASpazNamedSteve said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/490879#Comment_490879
Why though? You just shouldn't miss, honestly. Landing hits is totally in your hands, it's your fault if you do (or the survivor spun/Dead Harded you), I don't see the problem in punishing it. Part of what made Legion braindead is he could just swing mindlessly with 0 punishment for missing.
Part of what made him braindead was the ability to spam the attack. The change for him to lose the power and eat a stun for a single miss is way too harsh especially when his power isn't very potent coupled with the fact the now survivors can see him coming with his even slower FF and vault speed.
There are many reasons why someone could miss, not just survivors twirling but hitboxes and the like.
It's way to harsh to punish him that way for a single whiff, when the whole appeal of frenzy was to have multiple swings. Before it was 4 to thematically symbolise legions four members but now that it's been toned down, 2 swings is just enough.
-
@Caretaker said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/490877#Comment_490877
At the very least give a few hits. The only reason it was changed was outcry due to "m1 exploit". Even then I don't see why your power should turn off after a swing especially with how iffy the hitboxes can be, and how much control you lose after a vault.
Also, again, you could play this way before....
Frenzy shouldn't be depleted totally on 1 miss though, give at least 2 swings then you lose the power no more no less.
-
@Caretaker said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/489409#Comment_489409
And this is what gets me, I did this same playstyle before at 110. Everyone acts like you COULDN'T do it before he got 300 nerfs tacked on due to outcry. The only changes he really needed was a Frank's change, no drain in TR, and something to address just spamming FF to down. That was it, but they just kept gutting him and then scooped out the rest like they were carving a pumpkin.
I can do fine as any killer, but when it comes down to it, that doesn't make them good. Old Legion wasn't stellar either, but I quad iri/4k'd quite a few games. His power comes with an insane amount of downsides so you can, as Brady said, apply Borrowed Time. That's it, that's why the power exists. To buff BT without actually straight up saying they're gonna buff BT again.
If they don't heal, why would you even use your power? No other killer has their power just turned off after minimal use. Outside of the Plague maybe.
@Almo pls read this

Trapper: traps don’t allow spam of attack button.
Wraith: can’t attack at all while cloaked. Also can’t spam attack when uncloaking. You get one chance to make your surprise attack count.
Hillbilly: chainsaw can’t be repeatedly spammed.
Nurse: Also can’t spam attack at the end of or during a blink.
Doc: Can’t attack at all during treatment mode. Cannot spam attack in punishment mode.
Huntress: Can’t spam hatchets. Must restock at lockers. Also can’t spam regular attack.
Hag: even after teleport cannot spam attack constantly.
Myers: Power is simply to give survivors temporary exposed status. Still doesn’t allow attack spamming.
Leather Face: Chainsaw Can’t be spammed, but yes does allow rapid multiple hits in a short space of time. BUT is rarely an achievable feat and relies on groups making the dumbest of dumbest decisions.
Freddy: Can’t attack without using his power. Still then attack can’t be spammed.
Pig: Neither Ambush or RBT allow attack spamming.
Clown: bottles can’t be spammed rapidly and must be reloaded. Regular attack can’t be spammed.
Spirit: you get one shot to take advantage of the surprise speed boost. No attack spamming.
Plague. Vile Purge & Corrupt BOTH have cool downs preventing rapid spams. Regular attacks can’t be spammed.
It’s perfectly acceptable for the devs to have removed the “no cool down on attack” feature of FF so that players stopped spamming and tunneling a single survivor whilst it was active, completely undermining the entire purpose of implementing Killer Instinct and Deep wound.
Now Legion players are forced to learn the skills necessary to use FF as intended: Getting groups of survivors off of gens. Because deep wound can’t be ignored or powered through like the regular injured state. You can’t focus accurately on the Killer Instinct notifications if you’re allowed to spam attack and not making each attack thoughtful, considered, and purposeful.
Um sorry no, because the whole purpose of A "Frenzy" is to have multiple hits without cool down as the initial premise was to have them attack 4 times which was thematic considering there were four legion members. I'm all for not spamming as well as having as focusing on the other subtle nuances of their power such as killer instinct, but 1 hit is way too harsh. 2 swings are acceptable. No more no less.
