I mean what is nurses counterplay apart from stealth (which nobody seems to do anymore), breaking LOS, doubling back or "mindgaming"?

I'm not asking out of bad faith I want to know what you personally think it is because not everyone can agree.

You can't really use windows, because you get animation locked. You can't really use pallets because she can go right through them and stunning a nurse out of blink isn't as rewarding anymore since she can blink straight afterwards. Supposedly it was a bug where she had the stun and the fatigue but I can't deny it felt more rewarding to pull off. Also DH, Should ppl really feel like DH is the only perk that helps against this killer?

Again, I wanna also mention something I see Nurse and Blight players do a lot which I find a bit hypocritical which is burning map offerings that favour them. Survivors do it too, of course but it's still unfair.

Stealth is debatable but lockers, breaking LOS, running early, doubling back or "mindgaming". I dont know why people act like 4 forms of counterplay isn't a lot its more that some other killers.

There are a shocking number of players who think she "ignores game mechanics" as if she doesn't have her own unique set of mechanics. And if you try to explain Nurse counterplay to people, they'll move the goal posts and say "...but a *good* Nurse". Half of it is literally running away sooner and not greeding a 40% gen against a killer who can cover 20 meters

I seriously hate the "...but a *good* Nurse"." arguement because if you are also a good survivor you would know how to play against Nurse. Saying "oh but good players beat me" is the stupidest arguement ever and means you want the game to be objectively less skillful because you think players of a higher skill than you should be able to beat you.

"best desgined" LOL joke right? she doesnt play dead by daylight she plays her own game breaking every single mechanic survivors can use yo defend themselves. they have nothing aside from perks like dead hard that only work once in a chase then ded. (if she is good there is nothing u can do)

Exactly why I think she is the best designed. She is the only killer who changes the game in its entirety. And also "if she is good there is nothing u can do" yeah if you were good too you could do something...

Yeah, but they already started reworking several perks to scratch the basic attack condition, like Eruption, Remember Me and Blood Favour. Jolt is one they didn't touch yet, but it would be nice if they would, since other slowdown perks are usually preferred instead of it and other killers could benefit from it. It would most affect the exposed status effect, which is something the nurse definetely doesn't need.

Many still exist and also it removes exposed for Nurse. I get its overwhelming sometimes but removing 8 perks on her?

Your bottom line has been the biggest issue with "fixing camping" forever and I have yet to hear an answer that isn't either abusable or would hurt innocent killers who are not camping.

I've heard suggestions to try to give the killer incentives to leave like BP or whatnot but if a killer WANTS to camp you, no incentive is ever going to get them to leave and as stated above, I've yet to hear a punishment that would be fair/not abusable.

That is because it is impossible to "fix" camping for two reasons. 1st camping isn't a problem its a strategy and sure you can incentivise not using that strategy but flat out removing a strategy is stupid. I might despise holding W but its still a valid strategy akin to camping. 2nd point is thart you would need to go on a killer by killer basis pretty much. Add not having powers in a certain radius and nurse/110 suffers an extrem amount but trickster can still camp as easily. Add something to do with tr well we saw what happened with BT there. Cant go more than 1 stage while within X meters, they tried that it failed quite spectacularly. Slower hook progress while within X meters, non camping killers will trigger this, it may lead to simalar situations to only 1 stage and also a facecamping Bubba would not care if it took 20 min to facecamp someone instead of 2. Every single solution to camping I have seen has had a major flaw.

Honestly one of the best videos a creator has made, in terms of entertainment value.

It has me in tears of laugher as he slowly lost his mind through the video. The kate vs twins on lerys made me spit out my drink haha.

  • I don't really like Dowsey that much as a creator but I loved that KILLS = SKILLS video so damn much.

Exponential might be better than Dark Theory, as it does something. Dark Theory doesn't feel like it does anything, 2% isn't much

2% isn't noticable but the thing with has is things can get VERY out of hand very fast. Make it 1% more and now blOod pact and it gets you to 110. It isnt even the fault of dark theory itself its just Haste being a really stupid mechanic. This doesnt even try to take into acount loops that can become infinites with an extra like 2% speed. Idk how it is now but I remember a video groaning main was very close to an infinite if you ran it correctly like a year ago.

Haste is a really stupid buff to survivors as every haste perk basically needs to be made irrelavant.

  • Unique survivors? haha funny joke my man

  • For DBD whats most likely by a long shot is 3. Trickster is the only like "I could see this dude on the street" kinda killer the rest are pretty deformed.

  • @Emeal said:

    What is R6S?

Rainbow 6 Siege a pretty popular tactical FPS with the exact same content schedule as DBD for the most part.

I think its really funny that you still get the warning link for this.

  • @Mat_Sella said:

the worst part is that the blood vfx is just another thing obscuring your already limited view as killer, which is why i have never used Prestiged weapons on killers except for Pinhead

I dont even mind them being obsuring I just hate how ######### they look.

  • For the record this is PC Ultra... this is the highest quality setting.

  • Survivor moans are 80/90/100% sexier.

Considering how the DBD community is it will now have 100% pick rate.

  • IIRC it was always meant to happen with certain timings however it used to happen in a lot of cases where it shouldn't

  • You know broken only applies from injured to healthy. Also Twins have a slugging power like Oni and Myers and personally I don't mind if that stays.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Agree but disagree. Survivors should be punishable for getting hooked in the basement. And as we know, camping can be done by all killers - Bubba is just best at it.

If it were up to me, killer powers disabled within 12m of all hooks except basement hooks and during end game. (Cue killer main freak out)

Issue is there is such a variety in killer powers this doesnt work that well. Nurse without her power is slower than survivors so I can definetly see some kind of a camraderie build for SWFs to bully Nurse by just running them around it. Trickster is the complete opposite their facecamping ability will be near identical sinces its ranged same applies to PH. Billy and Blight if they want to get away from a hook now have to wait longer. Also on maps with verticality how would it work because if it still works above you imagine your power cutting out mid chase cause you hooked someone beneath you, If you then go with it not appling above there is a lot of hooks to facecamp from above. Its a good idea in theory but practically a blanket fix like that would not work.

  • Ideally 50% but also it shouldn't be 2k each game because 2ks are like 1 less pallet and its a 3k or 1 missed attack and its a 1k. When its a matter of the gates are open and just how many get through it is too close for a 2k to be considered equal. Ideal situation the game is a mix of 4ks 3ks 1ks and 0ks with a very small amount of 2ks.

  • Not really she seems like she will be boring to play, Im not planning on buying her any time soon. Her perks are pretty forgetable except the budget ruin one, like I think theres another one with skillchecks at 90% of a gen but I cannot for the life of me remember the last one. Same for survivor there is like 1 intresting one in the temp lucky break on stuns and I kinda want it for a headon build and also reverse empathy which will be nice for autodiadact but once again 0 idea what the 3rd perk is. No new map no major balance stuff so I feel its just gonna be the same as today with a different lobby.

He is probably the killer I hate facing the most. Mabye spirit , but sooo fun to play

Personally I dont find him all that fun to play unless Im using the bouncy knives addons. They are just one of the best designed addons imo and so much fun to mess around with on indoor maps.

  • I love the character and wish they did more to move him away from just being knockoff huntress and I will forever vouch for his bouncing knives to be basekit. HES THE BLOODY TRICKSTER AND DOESN'T USE TRICK KNIVES CMON. Also I always felt more shouldve been done with main event. It does not feel in the slightest like a big deal atm. Balance wise he is ok but in terms of fun hes only really fun on the killer side and I think he could be made so so much more fun.

  • Slight tweaks are coming soon but not a rework IIRC. Apparently they aren't planning on big overhauls to anymore killers which is incredibly stupid in my opinion due to the existance of Freddy Myers Pig Legion Slinger and GF also trickster but maybe he is too modern.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2836828#Comment_2836828

Well in that case, survivors are taking a greater hit for face camping first hook than the slugging situation OP described. Not that I get why anyone would want higher MMR. No rewards associated with an undisclosed rank. 🤷🏼‍♂️

So they can boast about them being high mmr on the forums kek.

  • @GoshJosh said:

There’s varying rates to gaining or losing MMR from a match, besides either survivor or dying? This is news to me.

IIRC in a QnA they said that survivors who die last lose less MMR.

  • @lemonsway said:

    Ghostface - Extra Hard.

You're a pure M1 killer with no power for 90% of the match. Your add-ons are trash. Your biggest weakness is being looked at. Survivors have better stealth than you.

1 shots are nice but you're not able to 1 shot everyone since it's a time limited thing (thematically it makes sense but that's where it stops making sense), you can only 1 shot after stalking someone and you have 45 seconds (base) to do so, you still have to aproach that survivor in M1 range, which considering how looping works because of how the maps are designed and how survivors have better visibility than killers, it makes it pretty freaking hard to stalk expose and sneak up on anyone and once you as a survivor know you are exposed, because you are warned about it, you pay more attention and expect where the killer will come from and you can plan your exit strategy and again considering how maps are designed, it makes it way too easy to just not get it and if by chance you're in a God loop than there's no fear whatsoever about getting hit in those 45 seconds... So realistically speaking GF's 1 shot potential is completly dependant on Survivors unlike Meyer's Tier3 which Myers gets not only more time, 60 seconds base and up to permenant, but Myers can control who he can 1 shot cause he can 1 shot anyone he gets reach on.

Think about it this way, Myers makes himself stronger while GF makes Survivors weaker except the game is by default rigged ( map design) to give survivors multiple escape options which weakens the best path GF can take. oh and you don't have Myers extra reach either so you really need to be in that M1 range.

So you're onna tell me to just 99% my stalk and i'm gonna tell you, it takes so long to go find someone, stare at them just to leave them and go find someone else somewhere else all the while you can get revealed at any time and then you lose your power and you're left with no progress and no power, you have no way to know when you'll see the 99% stalked survivor again or if you'll have your power ready when you do see them.

Imagine you have the partially stalked Survivor in front of you, within M1 reach, will you just not M1 him because he is partially stalked? See this is problematic, you're trading previous "progress" for current progress, why would you not hit the survivor if he is right there? You'll only do that if you have your power ready to expose them because otherwise you're losing a hit and chosing to lose that hit will give the survivor the information of what you're trying to do, why didn't he hit me is what the survivor will ask and the answer is obvious, oh im already stalked, he wants to one shot me later so i better just avoid being seen. And here we go again with the rigged game, Survivors have better stealth than you, they can easily stay hidden.

Can you make GF a better M1 killer? Yeah they obviously can, make his base kit better, gave him better stealth, create a better Reveal system than a % of something in the % center of your screen... cause that's how it works they need to see 20% of GF inside the % center of their screen, it's a stupid falwed system that creates random scenarios where you're not visible but you get exposed and scenarios where i can see GF and can't expose him, it's #########...

Another option is to rework him, rework how the stalking works, instead of filling a meter make it so stalking has multiple stages and GF can perma 1 shot you if he reached all the stalking stages, that way you get pay off by ignoring partially stalked survivors. This way there's a reasonable choice being made: ok these survivors are not so strong i can quickly chase and down them vs the stronger survivors where you'll most likely take your time stalking them so you can 1 shot them later on when you get a chance to get to them cause you know you probably won't get manny chances at it. While you're gonna tell me oh but then those survivors will know and they'll stealth you out, which is still true, i want a better GF i don't want weaker Survivors, but by pursuing weaker survivors then you can force scenarios where stronger survivors must rescue them, that's your oppotunity to make the stalking compensate and if they don't do rescues and expose themselves then the weaker survivors die and accomplishing the survivors objective becomes harder because they're working together.

This is why ghostface is a bad killer not a hard killer

  • Ooh another good one. Just wondering when do you consider "Old" DBD because I assume you believe there was a point where the game was better than launch day?

  • Twins -Hard

Missing Victor pounces can be really punishing for new Twins players. Map geometry doesn't like victor so you kinda need to learn the spots where Victor turns into a ping pong ball and pounces backwards. Tracking as Victor is harder than your average killer vs healthy/no-mither due to relying on blood. Knowing where to put Victor so he provides useful information but also doesn't instantly get sent into the back of the net. Dealing with coordinated survivors or lots of healing can be a pain in the ass and considering the COH meta rn you need to be able to sniff out Boons. Then there is the whole skill of pouncing and while a mediocore Twins player can essentially just backrev knowing how to use the full range of pounce without the survivors channeling their inner Chuck Norris is hard. Also you kinda need to know where to drop your big sister off in daycare aswell as how to actually run loops well and get m1s to injure people. Knowing how to coral survivors into charlotte is something you can learn but is quite often just pointless/way too hard and is only really viable on indoor maps.

Do you have even the slightest idea of how terrible it was to be a Freddy main against Old MoM?

A killer that was all about control doesn't exactly should deal with a third, unavoidable health state.

Old MoM is one of the two things from the past that I do not miss, which is saying something.

Im intrested as to what the other one is. Old styptic/anti-hem, Old BNP, 6 blink Nurse?

Honestly I think it’s okay that it reveals it. If you could get to 5 stacks using hatchets and then just mori someone without warning that’d be kinda nutty. Devour hope is good enough as it is.

Then devour becomes one of those perks that are played around constantly which makes it super unhealthy imo but at the same time Im not sure if thats what the devs think about much since there is perks like UB, BT and Dead Hard also NOED that havent really gotten much changes and DS was another one of those perks for a long time.

I don't do this when a survivor is tormented I put them in a cage I hate it when he just puts you on a hook for what not even impressive mori I feel like it should be a requirement to do that a survivor needs to be put a cage at least once here's the thing cages are also really useful since it prevents all those bs perks BT and DS from activating so why hook people just cage them.

Caging puts them in a random part of the map far away from you. Its easier to proxy if you know where they are

  • Good and useful but unless stacked with other healing perk would not be OP enough to shift the meta at all.

  • Honestly like most killers released since Twins. Twins was the start of the whole "all your addons are gonna be ######### except for this tree of addons and this one random ass yellow or brown" seriously like do you think any killer since Blight has had like a majority of their addons be viable and/or fun. • Im most likely not going to reply to any replies to this comment that focus on this first paragraph as this is a DBD forum and I do not want to get into a politcial debate here but there seems to be a bit of a sentiment here that most russians support the war which at least of the ones I know(mostly from DBD) isn't the case at all. I am in no way defending Russia as a nations actions but those decisions were mainly made by the sham of a goverment over there and does not accurately reflect the Russian population as a whole and assuming BHVR would lose all their Russian players or that Russian players would automatically tunnel people wearing a Ukraine charm is just plain racism. As with anything there will definetly be some Russian players who do these things (Just as I can guarantee some immature 14 year olds from other countries who thinks its cool and edgy would support Russia's actions and tunnel anyone with a Ukraine flag and proceed to say racist things about Ukraine in the end game chat) but assuming it as something most Russians would do it just blatant racism. But who knows maybe I just managed to find every Russian who dislikes the attack on Ukraine on my steam friends list through DBD and Payday and have a skewed view.

On the topic of adding a Ukranian flag charm I think it is a bit pointless unless its sold for money as raising awareness wont do very much because you have to be living under a massive rock to not know about the situation happening there. Imo if BHVR is doing something (which they really should) is make some cosmetics that act as donations. EG you buy a 5 quid blue and yellow recolor of some outfit and BHVR donates 5 quid. Or make a portion of all cosmetics purchases lets say 20% for arguement sake you buy a 5 quid cosmetics BHVR donates 1 quid to a charity for the Ukrainian crisis.

It also costs money to push patches to consoles and I'm assuming they don't wanna do that to fix one bug on one character when there's a confirmed date as to when she will return.

I admit the phrase "when the next update drops" is normally better, except in some cases like Saloon or RPD where it was killswitched for multiple updates in a row. In those cases it'd still be misleading

"In the soonest patch possible" fixes that issue and is a good middleground imo
