Syringe is really fun if you have a build for it but isn't really that overwhelmingly strong even though I do consider it one of the best survivor addons mostly because even without building for it you can still just pop it and sit on a gen essentially saving you 16 seconds of gen time you would have spent healing.
Styptic feels like absolute bullshit to new/midskill killers, many times before I fully understood what it did and how it worked it pissed me off a ton lol, against good killers its still incredibly strong as it can be used as a free pass to the next loop. Also an incredibly strong addon.
Both of them I would consider strong contenders hell even the 2 main contendors for best addon on survivor side but also I think they are pretty balanced. Only thing I would change about them is styptic giving a glowing outline while its active to help new killers understand whats going on.
-
- You can level them up without playing them to unlock their teachables or spend 2k shards in the shirne to unlock teachables.
- Yeah not enough killer players most of the day makes matchmaking do some funky ######### also MMR as a whole kinda does funky ######### cause some survivors can be nigh impossible to catch for you skill but because they got slapped by noed or a facecamped a few games in a row they are now considered your skill.
- No.

Pounce is a special attack though
Yes but at the same time Victor technically does not have PWYF equiped so why should he lost stacks.
-
NOED doesn't belong in S tier imo. Maybe A or B.
-
The only ones I am against are ones like Jeepers Creepers or other simalar franchises with scummy benefactors if a DLC for it is added.
Aside from that most Anime horror not because I think there is anything wrong with them just I don't know how they would be added to DBD as there is quite a dramatic artstyle shift.
-
If they add a cooldown to flashlights
-medkits now have inf charges
-maps make you repair gens 200% faster
-Bubba and billys chainsaw speeds were flipped
-teleporting to a hag trap makes the game crash and reset the progress of every killer
-Victor now spawns under the map whenever you try to unbind him
-Badham 3 spawns with 2 hooks on the map
-Every possible hook/pallet/window spawn occur at once on haddonfield
-Pyramid can instamori on 0 hook stages without tormenting
-Onyro can no longer demanifest by any means

Yeah but CoH is here. Take hit, leave area. Heal. Back. Sit on gen again. Repeat. Game will be long and boring. I don't think Hag is so strong anymore. CoH hurts her so much.
Unfortunately I have to agree with that. She still changes the game though even if it is now making her very weak.

Hag is not game changer, you can loop her like other killers. If she puts trap, run to next loop. If she puts traps early, she will lose 3 gens at early game. But Hag is strong camper and 3-gen killer if this makes any difference.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2845625#Comment_2845625
They are doing killers like Hag, just look Artist. She is closing loops like Hag. They both have some counterplay, run to next loop. But we will not have another Nurse type killer for sure. Balancing them harder than other type killers.
Hag is notr a standard player imo. If she is chasing you normaly she doesn't know how to play hag. You say if she sets up traps early she loses 3 gens but yes thats the design of her. Hag is never meant to win on 5/4 hell even 3 gens left hag is meant to set up a tight web around the final gen or two gens then map survivors lives living hell.

Imma keep it a stack I don't think they actually test the builds before going live.
I don't play the PTB so I can't answer but was this an issue there? I know the Devs have said that we are always playing a build weeks out of date and that just makes 0 sense to me. They should update the PTB way more often and use it for TESTING. Right now it feels like a preview of the chapter to generate hype.

Guilty pleasure you mean stuff I justfind satisfying or stuff that is actively annoying to survivors. I don't think I have too many guilty pleasures except playing Twins. God, I love my little dude. And that feeling when there is 4 injured and you just get to release him is just chefs kiss.

I mean it can go both ways possible the confliction exists on all variations it can happen both ways either way it's likely it's an asset clash because each map as a set number of assets it can spawn possible due to the TV's it's causing the walls not to spawn we could go on for ages but I'd assume Behavior is working to fix it with their map designers.
Yes I would say on tuesday we will get a hotfix and patch it but I do wonder how these things slip through so often. Did nobody in QA play a single match of Badham?
-
YES FINALLY I MADE THIS MEME A FEW DAYS AGO AFTER SEEING PEOPLE SAYING THE PHONE RINGING IN THE RING CHAPTER WAS A FNAF TEASE. NOW I CAN USE IT.

@MonsterInMyMind said:

I mean it could happen if each variation has their own spawning rules which most likely do as they are variations of the original map.
Then how did they manage to not have a single Badham generation intact. I haven't gotten all 5 badhams yet but every time Ive gotten badham its missing the doors.

Limited range, when the killer has to maintain "map pressure", with 4 people that can cleanse them, would not work. It's an asynchronous 4 v 1 game, you can't treat both sides the same.
Obviously thats why this post is mostly a joke.
But If I am taking this idea seriously then my idea would be perks that shut down loops until its cleanse and its lighting time is much shorter. Also if survivors are constantly looking for totems to unblock loops its more time off gens. I would want the range to be shorter 12m might be good imo, "blessing" would take like 5/10 seconds, possible effects could be auras revealed, windows blocked, pallets automatically are destroyed by the entity after a couple seconds. The idea is to give survivors a 2nd objective, if they just go for gens and allow these totems to stay up many strong loops can be disabled and if they go around cleansing it they are spending less time on gens. The main issue is just the RNG of totem spawns as some games you could have main and shack destroyed due to these other matches it can be like coldwind random field ones.

I mean there's a system that randomly generates map tiles its quite easy for that to get messed up with new assets added to the game such as TV's possibly exactly what is conflicting.
yes but Badham main is a fixed spawn except pallets and why would adding TVs then remove breakable walls of all things. I would genuinely like to see the code that leads to TVs removing walls but only on badham main.

I think - really? - this is the best configuration of players and killer which is available?
The system may work and predict - ok, this match will be 4e. A brand new killer vs veterans. Seems alright.
Again - is this a skilled system?
I hope they can find a way to improve this.
You aren't thinking like enough of a hockey coach.

I have lost and won against most of them on RPD. It depends on how good they are and your team.
Pretty much the same as on most other maps.
I'm pretty sure I can debate that as someone who played a decent bit of billy. Billy on RPD is just worse Bubba. In every way. He doesn't have what makes him billy aka his chainsaw sprint key word SPRINT if you tried to use Billy for his mobility on this map first of all what are you thinking but also you will spend more time to rev the chainsaw then the distance you would go. Thats not even accounting for engravings if you bring them god help engraving billies on RPD. I only really played Blight a lot before RPD got added but giving how I feel about hawkings, lerys and midwich I can only assume how I would react against RPD. Huntress and Trickster become knockoffs of Slinger PH or Nemi or any short range antiloop killer since there is next to no spots to hit people from further than like 10m

@MonsterInMyMind said:
Nope it has been confirmed a bug in the bug reporting section the post went from unseen to acknowledged usually meaning it's a confirmed bug. Most likely it's something with the spawning RNG I know someone posted an image of father's campbell with a Tree literally blocking Shack door so possible we'll see two kill switch maps.
How... How do these things even happen... the map's files had no reason to be touched they had both been rework already...

@Marc_123 said:
That is not a good new player experience...
If these are the matches - is SBMM a skilled system then overall?
You see making balance matches is our goal. Goals lead to wins. So we just decided to cut out the middle man and only care about the wins which is finding a match.

Yea it is confusing - but is this really bad?
I think not - you get used to it if you play it more often. I am still a bit confused sometimes even if i know where i am.
I mean there is the issue aside from it being confusing of like, blight, billy, huntress, trickster, oni and depending on the spawns, trapper and hag.

When that map first came out. I was in a 3 man swf. One friend got hooked in the basement. I was nearby and the killer left immanently. By the time I found the damn stairs he went to tier 2 on the hook.
On release I felt like throwing a heavy book at every person who said "layouts not hard lol just play RE3".

@ItsJesseFFS said:
My personal problem with Twins is literally the fact that there's nothing you can do against Victor except hope he misses a pounce.
Mind you, I'm primarily a solo survivor, I very rarely swf. So the "group up" counterplay argument doesn't help me here.
Lockers are yet another counterplay argument I see, but truthfully that doesn't feel like counterplay. Victor holds you hostage in it just for enough time to have Charlotte come. And the cooldown for Victor is so short that she can just use him again. Absolutely nothing you can do except delay the inevitable. That is such a completely miserable experience.
And even on the rare occurrence that I do play with friend(s), it's still such a totally miserable experience to go against.
To me personally, it truly does feel like Victor is quite possibly the biggest crutch in the entire game (MY opinion). He has way too much going.
Small objects are strong against victor. He slows down so massively while charging and due to the time it takes to charge that you can just run around the tree forever and thes a which side does he commit to mind game.

Scourge hooks are the killer equivalent. They are strong, but they rely on the killer to proc instead of relying on survivors not finding/cleansing it.

And you are right - we need more content not less.
It's not so much the layout itself that makes the layout confusing its that so many corridors look so simalar and have 0 refrence so you cannot tell where in the layout you are.

I like it. Had good games and bad games on RPD.
I also donΒ΄t see that the very often played outdoor maps are so much better. They are open and you can see better but i also like the indoor maps too.
We always need new maps. Some variety is good.
Personally its just the confusing layout an claustrophobia of it all. Split it to two maps and widen the corridors and doorways and generally make it feel more open.

I knew this would come up. Some tweaks are ok but RPD is fine and cool. Also was Hawkins.
I miss Hawkins but god I despise everything about RPD except its visuals/atmosphere. Every loop in that map is annoying and confusing, its way too big, its so claustrophobic.

Sometimes it is good the Devs donΒ΄t listen to every complaint.
Nurse would be gone, Spirit, Blight, Bubba... RPD, Midwich, Coldwind... because all "not fun". But there would also be no game left.
I am completely against removing anything but I think reworks are good ideas ESPECIALLY FOR CERTAIN MAPS **COUGH COUGH** RPD **COUGH**
-
Reasons I can think of for both sides.
Survivors
- -Most just camp or tunnel
- -They are very strong against solo Qs
- -People think Victor is difficult to loop
- -They can be in 2 places at once which when combined with Victor zooming they can control a large portion of the map if survivors aren't coordinated
Killers
- -They are punishing to learn
- -They have no desirable perks
- -Healing destroys them and atm healing is very popular
- -Victor is really janky
- -They are not great against coordinated teams
- -Imo they are the most frustrating killer as you lose probably the more progress towards a down than any other killer from missing their power and this can just be because of DH or annoying hitboxes
- -General lack of killers atm
- -Too complex of a power for new players to want to pick up
- -PTSD from launch

This is all of dbd. And when you look at it, the playerbase today is the exact same in terms of numbers as it was one year ago.
Thats why i asked why you cut of your screenshot at such an unusual high place.
Mostly becauseI did not want to have an abusurdly long graph but a playerbase being the same after a year is still not a good sign. March 17 -18 around 4k player increase 18 - 19 3kish more players 19 - 20 is 14k but that is largerly due to corona lockdowns 20 - 21 another 4k 21 - 22 less than 100 so far. Maybe the average will increase as the month goes on. DBD has steadily seen growths of about 3-4k in this month up until now. Who knows maybe it will average a lot higher by the end of march but using feb its 5k, 3k, 4k, 12k, 1k still a significant drop in the growth of the game.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Do you all grab the same picture for those kind of Threads?
There was a statistiscal outlier - the RE-Chapter. This statistical outlier is about to be corrected, the player numbers are dropping to a normal state.
If you only focus on the dropping part, it looks like DBD is losing players. If you focus on more, the player numbers are not bad. Let alone that currently around 44k players are playing (which is the 24 hour-Peak as well).
The game isn't losing player but has also only gained 90 average players in a year. In a year most online game can be assumed to grow a lot more than that.

Do not question the logic of the DBD censor

I would not in the slighest condiser myself a "pro" nurse but I like to consider myself competent at her. For indoor maps just general game sense is the main thing but if you are really struggling IAE or other aura perks can help. As for best build theres a lot of routes to go. Something like deadlock ruin corrupt and that one bird lady perk is good but also infectious, retribution, haunted, ruin or devour is good. The "best" build for Nurse relies completely on your playstyle.
EDIT: Forgot to mention stridor and spoon for the indoor maps bit.
-
Whats wrong with it? Objectively nothing its a valid strategy and against certain killers/on some maps its pretty strong.
A better question is why do people dislike it? For most people it's just ######### boring man. I don't see the fun in hold down 1 button as survivor and I don't enjoy holding 1 button as killer.

I get what you're saying though
I find it fun to watch but I do agree comp is incredibly unrepresentative of the game because of the sheer amount of rules they enforce to try to balance the game.
Comp DBD is good and EXTREMELY overhated
Using Comp as an excuse for ######### balance ideas is just dumb.

No killer is fun after 100 games. Dont try to gimme some BS like billy is fun to go against or X/Y killer is fun. In 14 years time when you have finally found your 100th billy you will be bored of him. Any other killer this applies to too except you wont need to wait 14 years to find 100 of them.

Makes sense, although like I said from my experience most ppl who try to use lockers against Nurse either get grabbed from it or go down 2 seconds later anyway.
I suppose if you're gonna go down anyway wasting some extra time is the best option so I can see the utility. Not exactly the most consistant though I don't think
Yeah if you are getting grab quite literally the solution is dont ######### up the timing. And from my experience people go down to nurse in 2 seconds anyway. Lockers do counter Nurse WHEN YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THEM. If you just keep going into the locker ofc you are going to die because the main counter of nurse is being unpredictable. I agree some people act like complete fuckwits when they try to use lockers but if you know how to use them they are a viable way to extend chases VS her.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2843588#Comment_2843588
Lockers? Mind elaborating a bit more on that one because I've never seen anyone use lockers against a Nurse and not go down 2 seconds later
Pretty much what it says on the tin since she can't open lockers after blinking. If you are about to get hit and are near a locker wait for her to blink to you, jump in, wait for fatigue, jump out and continue the chase.
-
Slowing down the contetent schedule and focusing more on balance(Imo 2 chapters a year but 8 perks every 3 months. Also more maps and new mechanics like boons). Basically just pull a siege. That would be the main pull back for me.
Reducing the grind is another(especially if we are dealing with my glorious world of 32 perks a year).
Optimisation and then The Realm Beyond The Beyond (the game looks like ######### let's face it Realm beyond fixed some things but a lot of things still look bad.)
The Devs to acknowledge the competency of new players(seriously kindred basekit is too confusing? 1 line of text and like 4 seconds in the tutorial would fix that. Also applies for stuff like not making unique pallets for each map or unique features.)
MORE ######### BUTTONS. I DONT WANT A MOBA OR RPG WHERE YOU NEED 2 KEYBOARDS TO FIT ALL YOUR KEYBINDS BUT SERIOUSLY DBD HAS LIKE 10. THE MINISCULOE AMOUNT OF BUTTONS HURTS THE GAME SO MUCH MORE THAN PEOPLE GIVE IT CREDIT FOR.
Im not gone from the game but I just came back and the only reason was my other 2 games both being on maintanance at the same time and I decided to buy artist with my bubba shards so leveling her and other .
