You're right, people did bring up concede buttons, hatch stand-offs, and survivors hanging around the gates for hours, but I see you failed to mention what the responses from survivors were. You probably just forgot, so let me do it for you:
"Git gud"
"Just hit them and let them take the hatch"
"Just chase them out of the gates"
"Just DC"
"Stop being so sensitive"
"It's your fault you were in the hatch standoff for that long"
Those were the usual responses. Now that the shoe is just hanging from the other foot's toe (because a maximum of four minutes is nowhere near the same as the indefinite maximum killers had to endure before), suddenly killers are expected to show some sympathy for something that will stop being so prevalent in a week, tops? Give me a break.
Slugging was there before and will be there afterward. Survivors are only complaining because, now, killers get some satisfaction out of it with the cool kill animation. Nevertheless, this won't last forever, as people will lose interest in the cool animation (surprise, killers don't like to wait around 4 minutes just to see an animation either, although survivors sure like being slugged for 4 minutes if it doesn't give the killer anything) and will resume hooking the last survivor.
So it's now you right to use the same failed arguments, when survivors complain? I really don't get this grudge mentality. And the problem with the four minutes is that it happens basicly every game right now. It sums up over time.
And in general, the past doesn't matter, when EGC finally fixes most of these issues. It was adressed. The goal is to make games shorter, when everything is decided. And even if it will become less over time, it's possible. And my experience says there will always people abusing things, when they can. So it will stay an issue. Maybe less of one, but it will continue to happen occasionally.

Survivors held the game hostage 60 + minutes for over 2 years = no issue at all.
Killers hold the game hostage for 4 minutes max = unbearable situation that needs instant fixing!
"We had it worser than you" is not an argument. And it's not like people didn't talk about endgame scenarios beeing an issue. It came up in several discussions over the past two years. Especially the hatch standoff everybody complained about.
The new issue is something worth to talk about, because it's a new behaviour we are seeing to happen right now. And maybe we don't want every issue people have to adressed within 2 years. And it's not that people want to take killers something away. They are talking about a "concede" button during endgame or even making Cypress Mori base kit. I would love to see both to be honest.

He's Mid-Tier for sure, but that's only because he's a basic M1 killer now. Compare that to most killers that also have the same speed and are M1 WITH their powers, hes is quiet literally the worst killer now in the roster.
I say hes Mid-Tier because any M1 killer is Mid-Tier but it all depends on their power if they stay Mid-Tier or not, Legion literally has no power now I can't call what he has a power its more like a self inflicted handicap.
Legion can still use their power to get an easier first hit than other M1 killers and can use it to track survivors. The tracking and mobility is still quite usefull. Stronger than Doc's tracking, I would say. Saying that they have no power anymore is an overstatement. It's just really clunky right now.
And it's not a handicap compared to Freddy's power e.g. which can really be a huge handicap in scenarios like when survivors fast heal a downed mate, before you can pick them up etc.
-
I kinda love, how they kinda admit here, that they accepted the last survivor situation to be a gamble for both sides. It either benefits the killer or the survivor depending how they spawn to each other. And none of these scenarios truelly feel fair or quite right. I would even argue that the situation isn't fun for both sides. In best case scenario it's relaxing for the one, who one the gamble and stressfull for the other.
But the truth is, that an assymetrical 1vs4 game is hard to balance in general. Especially when teamplay is only considered as an option for one side. The hatch probably only exists because of it and to make the game more interesting in a scenario, in which the killer snowballs the survivors. On the other hand, it made 4 kills too hard to accomplish. And it lead to scenarios, which drag out the game like slugging to prevent hatch spawn or survivors playing with the hatch already in mind, even though their teammates are alive, and there is a chance for gate opening.
For me EGC really never fixed all the issues related to the hatch. It's just there to prevent the game to be dragged out too much. Which is good. It's just that it comes with more problems like the new gate situation. I really can't think of a fair solution to this. As it currently is, it's a gamble, with the killer having a higher winning chance.
On the other hand, if they would change Gate spawns too far away from each other, then it would turn the game into a horrible experience for killers, during any kind of endgame scenarios. That would lead to a return to slugging and dragging out the game for a 4k. It really feels like it's one of these scenario you can't make fair.

They nerf DS and then MoM is introduced with the premium Ash vs Evil Dead Survivor
They nerf Legion then Ghostface is introduced with the premium Scary Movie Killer
I'm seeing a trend here.
DS wasn't nerfed. It was changed to serve a purpose as an anti-tunnel perk. I wouldn't even say it received even a buff in the sense that killers can't juggle you anymore. And Legion is completely different than Ghostface in sense of game mechanic. Legion was changed because of all the problems their mechanic caused.
-
I agree. At this point the timer should be increased to at least 60s. Or better. We get rid ot it entirely and make it like Spirit Fury. Once active, one time use and gone until it gets activated again. Under these circumstances the perk would be useless for a camping killer, because they can't gain multiple stacks. So they might use it once during an entire game.
And it benefits less mobile killers as well. The current version is more beneficial for already strong killers. That would be eliminated without taking anything away for anybody.

The whole point of the Legion was just to have fun running around and stabbing survivors, without doing much harm. Survivors never went down from Deep Wound unless they wanted to, kinda like RBTs, and if a Legion just stabbed you until you went down, they would experience multiple stuns in a row and give your team plenty of time to rush generators.
However, survivors cannot accept that killers should have fun too, and thus they DC'd en masse. Can you imagine if killers DC'd when they got stunned or blinded or whatever at the same rate that survivors DC'd from the Legion? Do you think the devs would butcher stuns, etc., or do you think they'd just ignore the complaints? So to reiterate: why the double standard?
Doing gens isn't a counter. It's an objective and a game design problem every killer has to deal with. And like I said, DW is a mechanic they gave Legion to artifical stall the chases of their ability, because Frenzy didn't have any kind of counterplay. It was fun for killers, but a bad design. They tried to fix with the last changes without completely reworking the killer.
And there aren't much double standards here. Devs addressed pallets, blinds in the past. There are different ways for a killer to approach loops, pallets, vaults etc. I know it's not perfect, but saying this whole thing about fun is about double standards isn't true. I mean they are trying to fix Freddy with a complete rework, to make him fun for everyone.

@Orion said:
Things that made the Legion fun:
- Running really fast in Feral Frenzy
- Vaulting stuff really fast in Feral Frenzy
- Reduced cooldown on missed hits while in Feral Frenzy
- Cold Dirt (because stuns aren't fun)
Things that were changed in the Legion:
- Reduced movement speed while in Feral Frenzy
- Reduced vaulting speed while in Feral Frenzy
- You get one missed hit per Feral Frenzy
- Increased the stun when you end Feral Frenzy and nerfed the add-ons that reduce said stun
And you wonder why these changes were not well received?
The problem was, that this kind of mechanics were broken in concept. It was discussed before, but Legions core game mechanic was/is lacking counterplay. On paper a fast killer who vaults pallets and stab people sounds good. But it comes with a bunch of issues. Especially because unlike Nurse, the rules of how chase works doesn't change significally for the killer. Nurse is all about predicting survivors movements, muscle memory etc. Legion on the other hand, activates frenzy and is ready to chase and stab like a normal killer without worrying about pallet and vaults too much.
Devs tried to balance it with stuff like giving him less information(scratch marks), deep wound mechanic and an incentive to switch targets (tracking). Problem is, of them is countered by Legions high speed and map design. LOS blockers aren't as usefull on Legion than on Nurse or even other killers. Target switching was countered by easy mending and multiple stabs with the deep wound bar made Legion very time inefficient in a way neither the Survivor or the Killer controls much about. Maybe the killer more, but Legion chases really felt like time predictable downs. No place for the killer to cause the survivor to make a mistake and get down earlier. Or for the survivor to outplay them.
And that led to current changes, with "nerfing" Frenzies direct chase efficiency to add some counterplay. Problem is, that devs overtuned it, I think. Legion needs less power cooldown. And the missed swing penalty is currently too much as it is right now.
I personally think Legion is currently now in a better spot design wise. And we will see how things play out. And if more fine tuning puts him in the right spot on balance, or if Legion's core design will turn out o be unfixable and end with a complete power overhaul like Freddy is getting.
-
The problem I see with this theory, is how are they supposed to market the DLC, if they aren't allowed to call it "Scream" or "Ghostface". Let's just wait and see, before we come up with a premature conclusion.

Even if Corrupt Intervention isn't that great on most killers, it does its job to help pipping, right?
Since you effectively buy 120s for the Gatekeeper score.
Not the most fun and interactive gameplay though. But then again, neither is Ruin.
Nah it only blocks three gens. Survivors will most likely move on to the other four. You would have to actively guarding those to prevent them from turning on. I use the perk on plague on a regular basis. But just it synergies well with her beeing able to infect those four.
-
Like many said, gens are done fast and many survivors can't handle ruin. And even, if survivors can handle it, it slows down their gen process a little bit.
And if I think of my personal experience, even though I think I can handle ruin well, with doing skillchecks etc. There are sometimes moments or days, when I just can't hit them as good as usual. And then the killer has an advantage. A small one, but it's the best they got. That's why they are using it.
-
I think the problem with farming is, that it's not fun to do. And by my experience players seem to get very greedy when farming and sometimes can't stop doing things and lengthen it for the other side, which might be already maxed in the other category. Also it's not hard to make a good amount of bp by normal play. Especially as a killer, when survivors swarm hooks like moths.
-
I think the most likely reason some killers aren't played, is because they aren't visual appealing. Clown and Plague e.g. Others like Hag aren't straight forward to learn.
-
Really stop fearmongering or worrying about DbD becoming Epic Store exclusive. There is no reason to believe it's happening or considered. And it would be a horrible risky move for them. Do you really think they would risk abandoning their current Steam playerbase?
No the only thing I could see is them starting to sell the game on other stores as well, if possible. But that's nothing to worry about as long it stays on steam.
-
Camping is not fixable, without fundamentally changing how hooks work and map design. And like people said, that the game was designed with camping beeing a reliable tactic back in the day. Just take a look at Insidious e.g. Mostly DbD core design philosophy was to design a fun casual horror game, which doesn't need to be well balanced. We still see a lot issues related to that.
Of course these days camping strategy is an issue. In most cases the only way survivor can deal with it, is by rushing gens and hoping that the hooked survivor doesn't decide to move on into the next game. And it kinda a form of anti-gameplay. Like going against an afk/meme killer. But well at leas the last one is some fun, most of the time.
My biggest issue with camping, is just that Devs kinda have to keep it in mind, when doing stuff for the game. Which I think hurts the game design overall and probably prevents them to do much against gen times etc. Bigger balance issues we have to deal with.
But like I said, I don't think you can do anything against camping without fundamentally changing hooks and map design. That might be something to think about, if there ever will be a DbD sequel one day in far distant future. But not in current DbD. We have to live and deal with it.
-
I kinda would love to see some regional stats. Comparing how much liked are certain killers/survivors per region e.g.

What do you mean? be more specific and show screen of what you say
If you look into the SteamDB you will find two tables under stats about the achievements. The first one shows the API name with the Display Name, Icon and description. The second table lists internal values/stats related to the achievement.
There you will see that Ash's achievements api name are ACH_CHAPTER12_SURVIVOR_1 etc. And if you look down the second table you will only find the typical stats for chapter12, which means there are values for a chapter12 killer and another map achivement as well.
That's what he means. For some reason Ash's achievements are referenced as part of chapter 12 internally so far.
Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.@Niitosky said:

Behaviour have a secret project with lionsgate, and lionsgate have produced hellraiser: judgement in 2018, so if we'll have a Hellraiser DLC, in my opinion, this will be based on film released in 2018, produced by lionsgate
Behaviour having a secret project with Lionsgate doesn't necessarly mean it has to be DbD related. It doesn't have to be, but it's possible, that it's a separate project. Could be even mobile related or something like that. Of course it's possible, but it doesn't have to be.

No, not really. The problem isn't looping per se, it's why looping works in the first place. Looping works primarily due to three things: different hitboxes, different accelerations, different speed reductions while turning.
Survivors are smaller than killers, accelerate more quickly than killers (relative to their top speed), and can turn on a dime without losing much speed.
Killers are bigger, accelerate more slowly (relative to their top speed), and slow down considerably when turning.
You wouldn't need to tweak that many loops if you just got rid of these three things.
I think, you are missing a few important aspects of looping. The fact that stalling/looping a killer, gives you a map/pressure control and that pallets and vaults causes safe spaces.
Even if running in a straight line and around obstacles wouldn't make a difference, looping around pallet/vault spots will still happen. Mostly because the map doesn't offers straight lines, so survivors basicly create one by using a loop and get the most out of a pallet/vault. Certain loops might become shorter, but it wouldn't change that strategy that much. It would probably still more reliable than juking a killer, which is much less controlled than a stall chase scenario and much less controlled.
-
Nah, basement will stay as it is. It's a good reason to avoid necessarly buffs and helps witht he statistic.

@Orion said:
That's not how dedicated servers work. Sounds like an issue with the servers and/or the netcode. A player's lag should only affect that player and that player alone.
Nah it's possible currently. Dedicated servers doesn't necessarly mean, that hit detection is completely done server side. Which is what's probably happens here in an extreme case, where the game accepts every hit the killer's client detects. No matter how much the killer lags behind.
-

What's even the purpose of Left Behind anymore? I know it wasn't great but now it's outright useless
It helps the last survivor in scenarios, in which the killer is guarding the hatch instead of closing it. But that's it.

I think a minigame would be just feel too much at some point in a game you play and repeat for hours and hours. Especially it would feel a little bit too artificial.
The only thing, that I could imagine, is if instead constantly holding M1, there is box with parts nearby and you have constantly run back and forth to add all parts to the gen.
This constant movement can make the interaction more interesting, because while you still can look around during the movement phases, it will really limit your 360° view from time to time. And for killers it might be easier to spot you then. Also it would limit SB users a little bit more.
-

The scenario of a killer guarding the hatch but not closing it is a little bit complicated. It really depends on the map placement and stuff what you can do. E.G. you can look for a gen with a lot quick accesible hiding possibilites and finish it.
Now even if it's a high mobility killer and they rush to the finished gen, you have a good opportunity to sneak past them towards your freedoom. Another opportunity is to 99% all gens, which still needs to be done far away from the hatch. Finish them and manage to sneak past the approaching killer. Opening a gate.
Well to be fair, actually doing a gen and hoping you can somehow sneak past the killer, if they approach is actually the only strategy if I think about it. In situations, when map design or the general situations make any "sneaking" scenarios impossible, you already lost. Maybe try it. Get found and killed and move towards the next match.

It's actually always better to buff things than nerfing. Hillbilly will receive an AddOn rework one day And current map design feels like it's less in favor of him. It's just not time to change much about him yet. Killers need buffs, reworks etc. Stuff adressed. Hillbilly is fine as he is right now, besides AddOns.

What other uses than hook camping would you expect. You can technically already use it for a gen ambush, if the map and circumstances allow it, but in general a perk which requires you to stand still to activate is even with a two second timer a too big time waster with a minimal outcome compared to other perks.
Besides that, yeah if it's bugged they should fix it. I haven't used it for quite some time. But I remember one year ago, when I did a trapper basement meme game, that it already triggered, while setting traps. Timing seemed to work back then.

Moonwalking is a legit strategy, if survivors can 360° evade/body block and use every ######### trick in the book why can't one killer walk backwards to force you to die...
Filthy blade: is an add-on unless they have a black hand offering they can only use it once, suffer through it!
But the Legion is getting a revamp so he probably will get bEhav10r's flakey, dry shillelagh up the ol' ham sandwich because they need to safeguard the whiny survivors some more! It was fun while it lasted though!
360s can be countered by good killers. Body blocks are annoying, but come with a trade off (hits). Legion Moonwalkilng on the other hand, is a way to force a down of a survivor with zero counterplay.
@Topic Thing about this, is that both of these things are most likely getting fixed. Exploiting the blades is annoying, but it's hard to prove, if somebody intentionally eqipped them or not. And Moonwalking isn't handled as an exploit in moderation, which I can understand. It's kinda a design issue, which devs will most likely adress in the MidChapter patch somehow.

Regardless, I have heard that these addons are getting reworked so I am not sure if we should argue about these addons.
We are kind of beating a dead horse here.
I think a nurse addon rework is more on a list of things which needs reworks, but doesn't seem like they are active work on, because there are other things with a higher priority. Similar they already want to rework Hillbilly and LF addons.
Nonethenless it's still usefull to discuss Nurse AddOns especially because they will be reworked some day. A little feedback always help.
My honest opinion about range addons on Nurse is, that her AddOns shouldn't change the consistency of blinks that much. For me personally Omega blink Nurse is hard to deal with, because she can charge short distance blinks much faster. That shouldn't happen. More range should just mean more max. charge time. keeping charge time and distance more consistent, so as a survivor you have an easier way to say how far/long a nurse will blink by her charging time.

Yes. DbD is one of the games, which doesn't mix well with mental health issues. Especially the killer role, because you are under constant pressure during the entire trial. On the other hand playing killer, is a good way learning to deal with constant pressure in a safe environment. It's two sides of a coin really.
My advice in general is, that well ... that one of the important aspects of caring about yourself, is figuring out, what mentally drains/stresses you and avoid it, if you feel like you can't do it right now. I have mental health issues combined by myself. I used to love playing killer. But I have to hold myself back, when I know my current mental state doesn't allow it, I just can't do it. Find other ways of enjoyment. It's sad, but the best thing you can do. For others and yourself.

The new system is working almost flawlessly, and it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do, put players in their proper ranks. They might need to make a very small adjustment to the emblems that increases the survivor points by no more than 1 tic, but that’s it. You only pip when you play well against someone of equal rank or higher, and you depip if you play poorly against someone of equal rank or lower. PERFECT!
The emblems are a mess. Survivors can completely destroy a killer and depip in the red ranks, because some emblems requires the killer to be succesull. Same for killer. Instadown killers like Hillbilly, do horrible with the chaser emblem, which makes them very hard for them to pip. Even though they destroy survivors as well.
The idea of the new system is justified, but the Emblem system in general so flawed, that it doesn't do a good job of putting people in their proper skill rank.

Like I'm aware people enjoy this dlc more than legion, but the amount of toxicity around this dlc is far less than the usual backlash of topics.

It's not about it beeing strong or anything like that. Such people are sometimes even harmful to their own team, when they are wasting their time instead of doing gens.
For it's personal a problem, because getting a constant "Kaboom" sound always breaks my concentration within chases and makes me more aggressive. Or at least annoyed. And it really adds towards toxic experiences ingame.

Yeah, also I remember, that people said from the begining, that her power has the potential to be quite powerfull with the right tweaks. That was even the main reason why there so many voices for a buff. People hoped for another killer reaching high tier.

The upgraded version of her power is the ability to harm survivor with her ability. So it gives her an additional midrange attack. What we don't know for sure are the drawbacks for beeing sick.

Besides that we already have the Clown, who might be fictional, but his backstory is based on usual things we know about serial killers. Kinda representing them. I doubt the Ripper would look worser than that.
The only thing what might speak against it, is that Identity V already has him as a killer in the game and devs might avoid having too similar characters to it.

What perks did this Bubba play with and which map? Just curious. And LF is actually strong with non-purple ones. Faster Charge are kinda necessary for him. Some also play with the beastmarks.
And like many said LF isn't really a strong killer. His chainsaw is mostly for quick pallet destruction or punishing survivors for big mistakes.
