A way I could suggest having a new batch of codes that has a larger number of people who can access instead of 10 probably make it something like 50 or maybe even 70.
also you can't really compare making It Unlimited to golden Feng.
There was literally no way to get that cosmetic without out the one per use code and the only place you could really search for it was third party places.
This is something they could simply advertised the second you load up the game they have a news bulletin
put it to 50 or 70 and you STILL get people crying, it's unfair! it's unfun! I can't get it! I can't type it in fast enough! so you just push the anger back a few minutes max probably less than a minute.
I didn't compare making it unlimited to golden feng. I talked about how it'd be 3rd party monetized just like golden feng. after a while newer players wouldn't have it, and it won't be easy to find and google searching will lead to the 3rd party. well you don't need to be a doctorate candidate to see where that leads.
so lets not forget this was a way to reach out to others that don't go to the forums or twitter much. but everyone has to say it's crap because they can't get it. well i'm sorry but that's more the I wanna get something free but i can't type fast enough and i'll complain.

Devs I really appreciate that you try to do something fun and interactive with the fog whisperers but at this stage you really have to realise it's not working very well.
Firstly you guys promised not to do any more exclusives
Secondly console players are at a massive disadvantage in comparison to PC players just because how we have to type in the code.
To the point some fog whispers have gone out of their way to try to make it more balanced and even then it's not working.
Also massive amounts of appreciation to the fog whisperers who have tried to give console players the best shot they could. You didn't have to do that but it just shows how much you love your community.
Some fog whisperers just really don't like the code process and have just said screw it and at this stage I don't blame them.
Hell so people are even going after the fog whisperers when it really isn't their fault they have no saying how this works.
Honestly I still know we have a while until this event and the code finish but I really feel like you guys need to go back to the drawing board and try again with a different method.
As I said before I appreciate that you guys try to do something unique and interactive but it just doesn't seem to be working in execution like it probably did on paper.
I don't know what you could do about the DwightCrow charm
1) Find a different way to distribute it.
2) Just make it unlimited
3) Keep it how it is but definitely go back to the drawing board so you don't run into this problem if you ever try something similar.
Honestly I would prefer option 1 or 2 but that's on you guys
so let me speak to your points:
First of all your comment about them saying they are no longer giving out exclusives. this is very true, and what you fail to take into account is how long till the charms start hitting the store for them to be bought and are no longer "exclusives". the idea they were talking about and expressed some what badly is that they do not want any "long term exclusives" but a short term exclusive can be very nice and give people a smile that they got it.
I got my code after about 3-5 times and all was good. I was even playing final fantasy 14 at the same time! I got the code to work while I was in an instance fighting even! (YES i'm on PC). I still had fun watching the one I was watching! completely had fun!
Secondly: I will agree console players are at a disadvantage. I can't speak to it because i have no experience other than understanding i gained from my acquaintances with consoles over the years.
now to your enumerated points:
1) find a different way to distribute it. well they did, before it was forum posts where only a few people got it and they only posted once every so often so they didn't change the code. people gave up because they were gone when they finally heard about it days later (myself). so this is a better way.
2) make it unlimited: problem here now is the re-selling of the code so now instead of a free code everyone pays some third party 10 bucks for the charm (or 5 what ever) and behavior gets NOTHING of that back. great idea for those that sell codes for people lazy enough to not go looking. look at the golden feng outfit, many people paid 100's or 1000's of bucks for the "RARE" outfit it is no longer rare and now people are upset they paid someone else for that code long ago.
3) keep it how it is but definitely go back to the drawing board... this is the exact same as #1 so see that answer as they DID do this.
When you talk about people going after the fog whisperers, this is a problem with the people EXPECTING everything to be given to them. and that is the problem with this community, if you can't get it free it's not worth it but you'd want people buying it from someone else who then gets rich on it. The people that attack the people giving the things out, well I'd say that's their problem and their manners that need to be adjusted.
you should really come up with a better way and suggest it since you're asking them to go back to the drawing board and find a better way!

you'll notice that this is still 20K more than feb 2020, and what happened in 2020? COVID shut downs so people had more time to play. now countries and companies are starting to ramp back up and pulling people that need work that are also playing. school is also ramping up and people are hunkering down after a virtual start to school. this number is dropping organically. and also mid chapter patch also has a normal drop because people start taking breaks about now waiting on the new chapter in 1.5 months. IS there some problems? yes. does that account for the numbers? doubtful as there are other real life things happening. but look what happened in june and march, they jumped more than twice the number that just dropped.
Statistics can be warped which ever way. if you take this large drop and compare it to the two months before then it's HUGE, ITS a crash, but move the numbers out 9 months you see that something happened to have a 45% increase in players back then so you have to look at what is happening when that increase comes in then what is happening in the world now. so as people said xbox and ps4 are not included here because those numbers are not public knowledge. I would suspect that they have a corresponding large dip compared to the recent months but not compared to the last overall 9 months to a year. I once saw a slide show that showed a company was loosing money hand over fist, but all that was looked at was the over all profit and not what was causing it, what caused a company to loose millions? they opened 10 stores and had to hire a huge number of employees across the country. what happened to the company? absolutely nothing, they are still here and many still talk of them. what about the profits? those 10 stores turned that loss into a gain in 5 months. Again the numbers tell only part of the story and looking just at numbers with nothing for perspective that can be a frightening thing.

"free" cosmetics for playing the game... You know unlocking cosmetics was the norm in the game industry right?
I can see why ppl called you a white knight or apologist. They aren't exactly wrong to judging from what you've written but you're not wrong either in using that kind of frame of mind. I think BHVR does deserve a decent chunk of backlash they get but definitely not what they normally face. I also understand that ppl are starting to get sick and tired of BHVR after all this time. If the game had absolutely no bugs and well optimized there'd still be bickering and backlash but nowhere near the levels of anger right now. Personally, I don't think BHVR deserves so much trust and benefit of the doubt anymore but they definitely don't deserve the vitriol they receive either.

They gave you a ton of BP. That's why you aren't mad at them. Hope you at least understand why others are.
I had an issue a while back and they gave me almost a million blood points just for the issue. I was hot (it was issues with bp bonuses and what not) but thing is I still will talk about that they do that I don't like. I also accept they are a company and out to make money. currently they released outfits one day knowing many would buy them up and then discounted them the next day. Most everyone is saying they won't give back the difference. I am upset and annoyed at this but i'm not mad or pissed... i wanted it, I spent the shards and blamo i have the outfit. would i like the difference back? yup... i'd buy up the remaining skins. ah well. thing is I know not everything is to be given to me, nor do i expect it but here on the forums i see people saying i'm entitled to X, Y, or Z! I've seen people claim the phrase "the customer is always right" which is not the case because when that phrase was created it was understood that "customer" was plural and meant 51% or more of the customers that shop there and it was a suggestion for shop owners to listen critically to their customers not take every single one as the one that is right. He is not an apologist, nor a white knight. he is a person who's opinion differs from the others that don't like it and those terms are used to belittle and undermine his words. That is a form of bullying. Agreeing to disagree is fine, but he didn't post for people to agree with him but just to state his opinion but he took the disagreement properly and well. @Mikerotch you belittle him because he got something and thus you assume he is being bought. Thanks for showing your colors. and TERRO: you did frame your post well and level headed so I thank you for that because to many times people won't look at an opinion and accept it as just that an opinion and doesn't have to change your opinion. Brabo Terro, (the system won't let me @ you since it will only accept terr and something else.

I'm just GLAD someone got acknowleged... I reported this early wed afternoon..... sigh it's a bug on survivor side as well but survivors don't have to slog through that one.

Matchmaking has always been a joke.
It's simple. Change it so that red ranks, play with red ranks. Purple ranks play with purple ranks. Green ranks play with green ranks. Yellow ranks play with yellow ranks. Brown ranks play with brown ranks. NO EXCEPTIONS (other than SWF, where the killer matches the highest ranked survivor). Yes there are going to be instances where there's a mismatch in quality as rank does not always represent skill but for the most part, it'd a far, far better system than what we have.
A rank 15 killer should never have to go up against a red rank survivor. Ever. New players will just want to set fire to their PC/console if they keep getting matched with players who are considerably better/more experienced than them.
other than the ranks play within only the ranks they tried making the lowest (number wise) ranked. so if a swf had 20, 19, 14 and a 1 then it would match off of the 1 and it just didn't do anything atcuatlly made it worse by choosing the 20 to match off of instead of the 1. they then reverted that back to matching plus or minus 6 of the average but even that had not worked it's plus or minus the rank of anyone in the group (not average). they then put mmr in saying it'd solve things, had it watching for 2 months and it still put people with no skill against those with GREAT skills. that has been removed (MMR is not active in matchmaking) now match making is back to matching anyone of the 4 survivors with a killer at plus or minus 6 and if it takes a while to get a match it widens that but no one knows how soon or to what.

Jesus Christ OK, I'll bite. Why? Because why not? What is the issue with including everything on the PTB? You keep trying to create a scenario where you know all the right answers when you say they only have three options? How about they update a PTB when they make a perk change? Why not just hold off putting up the PTB until you have everything you plan to include in the patch. They aren't beholden to a schedule when to release a mid-chapter patch (the event is not the patch as far as I can tell) so they could've released the PTB whenever they wanted with however many features they wanted? Why do I lose credibility for asking this since I already illustrated my point that changing a perk is a big change.
Why should I be happy that I get a PTB at all if they aren't going to actually take feedback from it? It's called a Public Test Build. A test for the public. It is meant to be played by players who will then give feedback it is not just a bone the devs throw to a player base who should then shower them with praise for releasing a version of their build? You don't show an early cut of a film to a test audience because it's a treat for them to see something early, you do it get second opinions on the work you are making. I know I am not owed a PTB but it's also not something that I should feel grateful for having, it's just what happens.
And yes, it is their choice but there is nothing wrong with getting more feedback before they make a choice because they can either ignore it OR accept it. I don't understand this logic of well they announced this change in the patch notes? Telling your player base about an intentional change isn't some great, wonderful thing it's just what you do. I shouldn't be "grateful" because the devs said they did something when they did it. It's like praising someone for making a chicken sandwich and then telling you it's a chicken sandwich and the person who is given the sandwich should be grateful that they told you what's in it. No you shouldn't be grateful that they told you want's in it when they give it to you, you should be grateful if they asked you what you wanted, you said what you like and then they consider it. You sound like a middle aged man who complains to his kids that they don't appreciate all the hard work he does and then lists off a bunch of normal, expected things that he's supposed to do. Like celebrating the bare minimum effort.
then why is it a problem they didn't put something there? I just gave feed back because points didn't register on my challenge. they didn't put the rift on the PTB, why not complain about that? the point of this whole thread is that discordance was NOT put on the PTB and people are saying it should have been because it changed. their choice if they want to put something on the PTB or not, it's possible they didn't get the change ready in time for the PTB so they check on it internally and it worked fine so it was good to be included in the patch. yet i'm the bad guy because i'm telling people they don't own the game and don't make decisions for the game gotta love it.

1) Ok, not a big change? What qualifies as a big change? You said it was "just a small range change" when it's not just that, they changed how the perk works. Originally it gives a notification every 8/10/12 seconds when two people start working on it to it stays lit for as long as two people work on it then fades after 8 seconds when they leave. A small change would be adding a range requirement then changing those original numbers but this changes how the perk works. Is it a huge nerf? No but it is a noticeable change not just a tweak. And again if small perk changes were added to a PTB for other perks.
2) You mean when they actually change it? Isn't that the equivalent of saying "you're going to have beans for lunch" as you serve beans for lunch? Saying a perk change when you change a perk isn't stating it beforehand. So... what we're supposed to be grateful that a company stated "oh this was intentional" when that should be part of their job? I don't understand why this argument with you is even a thing when you said already that it's bad to change things without letting us know which is exactly what this is. Oh but they said they changed it when they already changed it so I guess that's cool then even though it doesn't allow for actual feedback.
3) Um yeah? I mean I'm complaining that they didn't give the community a chance to look at it? Why is this a wrong thing? Why shouldn't a company behind a video game tell the people who are playing it what they are going to change about it? If you're going to include a PTB then why not actually take advantage of it. You're right maybe a PTB isn't owed to us but if they're going to do it then why not take advantage of it? A PTB is a test server, yes it is not the only test server but how about if you are going to release a PTB anyways why would you not just wait till you at least have all the features you want to include within it to see how the community reacts? Is there a downside to that? I agree with you in that the devs do not need to do everything the community requests, that would be dumb, but at the same time the community has a right to give feedback, call out issues and bugs, and YES complain the devs have the right to either take it into consideration OR ignore it.
I'm sorry if I put words in your mouth even though I'm literally copying and pasting your words from your previous posts. Maybe I didn't include the full context and maybe I'm misunderstanding you so if so I'm sorry. I've tried to read your posts here to understand your argument and maybe I've failed. And thanks for insulting my reading comprehension it really adds to your argument when you just call the other person a moron. Especially when your retort is basically saying "actually that thing you said, it's not true, end of argument".
OK, firstly I didn't complain that discordance was nerfed, I said it was fine. You're claiming that we are whining cause "wE wANT gAME oUr WwaaYY" when all we said was it wasn't cool that they changed something big without saying it.
this is where you messed up and lost all credibility. so you say they must put everything on the PTB before they changed it? why? they announced the change in the patch notes so they did announce it. but it wasn't on the PTB. be happy they let you have a PTB. big changes are: total re-work of a character, large map remakes (they did that) and then they put other things on the PTB because they have them ready. if it's not ready then they can either 1) wait for the next PTB (not always a good thing), 2) internally test it and then put it in when the patch goes in (usually best to do if it's a minor change) or 3) forget the change (very bad).
they have historically chosen option 2 because they want to not have a stack of changes that wait 1.5 months when they can internally test it and say it's good. it's their choice, not yours and they said they changed it when the patch notes were published.

OK, firstly I didn't complain that discordance was nerfed, I said it was fine. You're claiming that we are whining cause "wE wANT gAME oUr WwaaYY" when all we said was it wasn't cool that they changed something big without saying it. You say "you think you're entitled to know every change coming up before it is done then you are WRONG." And yeah we aren't entitled to be informed of EVERYTHING but this is a big change. You claim it isn't but if it small change it would be like "we've reverse the number of seconds for discordance tiers" but instead they went "ok the perk now works within these certain conditions". A small change is adding Blood Points to For the People or making Mindbreaker last some seconds longer and they included those in the PTB. I don't believe players are entitled to know everything, but this PTB was all about testing perk changes even ones that actually were minor so why not Discordance if you're going to basically change the conditions of it. What about a massive map how is the perk affect now?
It might seem insignificant but every change in this game snowballs into a massive one because of how many variables are in the game. You consistently try to play this high road card of how we're acting like spoiled brats for bringing up things we have issues with in a game we pay for despite saying "I am not saying you can't complain or bring up something and ask hey was this intended? it might not have been. but stop complaining that something wasn't in the PTB thus it shouldn't have gone to the LIVE client." I don't know what that even means? I didn't say because something wasn't in a PTB that it shouldn't go live I just said it's dumb they didn't say anything about it. I don't think people would've complained if during the Dev Stream they brought up "oh we're actually changing Discordance too" bam no one would be upset about it. No offense but you're acting really condescending here.
1) it's not big.
2) they did STATE it was changed
3) you are complaining they didn't give you a chance to evaluate their change before it went live.
that's my point the change isn't that big coding wise, it was stated and they DONT have to give you a public test build/server nor do they have to give you every thing on that before it goes live. that's what i've been saying lol and you think i'm talking about the change. this is where reading comprehension comes into play, please use it.
BTW: I stopped reading when you told me what I was talking about when that wasn't true.

first of all the fog whisperers are being given codes to GIVE out. if you watch them you get a little bonus. they did not say these would not later show up in the store but just that currently there are limited activations of each code. This event is showing me exactly what the people here are: most are whiners because they don't want to think, and actually read what is said. I read that and it just says currently they are limited, but doesn't say they are limited the whole time. instead of complaining about this you litterally could have asked "hey behavior, I know you want some things to be exclusive for a short time but what about this? it's not specified if this will make it to the store later." come on and be realistic. the archives/rift has ALWAYS said for a time it would not go to the store but they never specified the exact time just a minimum time before that happens

ah nice you are more calm, now i agree it's a real nerf, but i don't care anymore, between the time you respond they release their ######### event so i will stop playing, but yea i give you it's not the nerf itself the problem but how it was handled
well good bye, have fun where ever you go but realize this no matter where you go a public test server is not your right, it's a bonus you get. You are right it is how it was handled by people like yourself and others that think you are the only ones with all the information and you have to be the one to determine if something is right. they handled this perfectly but people decided it was important to complain that they didn't consult with the players.

how to be a fanboy 101, you do your best to not adress the concern and even compare it to an anothe perk that are vaguely the same fuction in a surface level.
aslo the way you talk (the aggressive tone in general) and all the MAJ you use make your texte horrible to read, please respond with a better text and toneand i will address what yousay
here i will type in all lower case no punctuation and no emphasis for anything so deal with it
I did address the issue but people decided to ignore how i addressed it so guess what? I'm not going to REPEAT MYSELF. hmmm oh sorry do you not like reading things that are emphasised? well your attack on me is well waranted then but I'm going to ignore you because you had nothing to say since you wont arse yourself to see how it was addressed... nah here it is: the company has said the PTB is not for every little change and that is that. do you think you are so important that you can demand them to change their way of working, well you're not, I'm not. I gave you an example of how they responded to other people complaining about things, how ever I did NOT compare it to the discordance change. If behavior believes it needs to be publicly tested then they will do so, if they feel it does not they will internally test it and put it up when it's time. I'm not a fanboy of behavior, I talk out about some things I feel should be changed but if they don't think my idea is sound they won't use it and I accept that. they have control and nothing I can do can change that.

Last time I say it, I am not whining, i could care less about past ptbs because all you are basically saying is they give half finished products to the community to test. And yes I know there isn't matchmaking, nice assumptions like everything else you said about me in your post. If you are going to change something that will affect a majority of players yeah I do think you should tell them if it's in a ptb. Sorry not sorry
where did I say they put half finished products to the community to test? The did not do that. they put what they thought should be on the PTB for the public to testing and went from there. I have said perhaps the discordance changes came AFTER they set up the PTB. instead of taking the ptb down and delating the mid chapter patch they just did internal testing and the numbers worked as expected and there was no question for it. if you say they don't put everything they change on the PTB is wrong then you are wining because they have never said every change will go to the PTB and infact have in the past acted alone without posting a PTB to test the changes. They put things up that they feel will need wider testing than what they do internally. a change of distance is not needed to go to a public test server and DELAY something because they decided to change it. You want everything given to you from day one, well you can keep waiting, they have said and proven that the public test build is for big changes and not tiny ones.

yea it's not destoyed completly, but now you can commit to a chase while 3 survivor are on a gen and disc don't proc.
anyway the best way to do gen is 4 people doing 1 gen so it's more of a late game thing but still the nerf was unwarranted, and sneaky about it, they should have test it first or at least say it's coming before the patch so it don't come as an unfair change and.
like you can join me on the fact that it was done in a bad way.
you know what? they did test it. INTERENALLY They looked at the numbers and felt those numbers were good. why push the change off for 1.5 months? why make a special PTB load? Why even bother with it when their internal testing (which btw is their main testing). PTB is not their main testing. I can only count on ONE hand when something that was on the PTB got changed because of PTB feedback. they've made their postition abundantly clear by their past actions and nothing any amount of crying on the forums is going to change that they do not take the rantings here on the boards seriously. HOWEVER they do take constructive feedback from the boards and will CONSIDER what is said here.
Lets take Whispers: the perk starts at a huge radius and then gets reduced in size as the perk is leveled up to rank 3. this is exactly the same argument as your argument on discord. people have said 1) whispers is to large of a radius to be valuable in tier 1 and 2. 2) people have many times asked that people on hooks not count for whispers to go off. Guess what? this hasn't changed in over 2 years even with people trying. Why? because THEY feel it is where it should be and deserves to stay where it is. you don't need a PTB to decide these types of things! you just need to look at it in game, change it and see what you want on their internal testing server that they have up ALL THE TIME. Just because the "PUBLIC TEST BUILD" was not used does not invalidate the PUBLIC TEST BUILD it just means people are expecting one thing and they are not giving that one thing which is their right.

It's definetly a nerf in my opinion, you only want the notification anyway, so even 1 second would be enough as long as you get the sound, but they're tinkering with the range, making it a lot worse on tier 1 and 2 and sometimes misleading at tier 3.
A bigger issue thuogh is the fact that they're again touching things nobody asked them to instead of focusing on core game issues. (and boy does the game have some.) A this point it's pretty clear that the community has a better idea of what to do, so the devs still insisting on these dumb changes is pretty dissapointing (atleast to me as a veteran)
wait? they can only work on the game if YOU think it should be changed or added? #########? is this your game? the arrogance of everyone in this patch is worse than the arrogance of everyone at the chapter which was worse than the arrogance at the last mid chapter.... there is a trend. people thinking they have rights to dictate HOW BEHAVIOR does things.. if you don't like it find something else but really honestly the message board today has been a bunch of whiny children here because they didn't change X from the PTB, Y wasn't in the PTB, and the new map design is crap..... well stop playing messageboard 101 and go play the game. if you don't like it play something else. be constructive but saying "A bigger issue though is the fact they're again touching things nobody asked them to." WOW talk about arrogance.

Why nerf perks like:
- Discordance, which was fine as is.
- Huntress Lullaby, which is pretty useless already.
- Pop goes the Weasel, which is pretty fine already.
- Thanataphobia, which was bad already. (honestly philosophy behind the change i agree with, but the numbers bump wasn't enough)
Why nerf Pyramid Head who is B tier at best?
Why give useless perks useless buffs like:
- Cruel limits, which will stay useless
- Slippery Meat, which will stay useless
- Technician, which will stay useless
- Mindbreaker, which will stay useless
- Forced Penance, which will stay useless
Why not rework killers like:
- Nurse (Who is OP)
- Spirit (Who is unfun)
- Deathslinger (Who is unfun, which btw you are leaving him as is but nerfed PH even though their complaints are the same?)
Why not nerf perks like:
- Dead Hard
- Decisive Strike
- DS + UB combo
- Hex Undying + Ruin Combo
- NOED (which is unfun)
Why not fix moris and keys?
Like i get it, i really do, you have priorities. But much of this list has been a problem for a LONG time.
- Decisive Strike has been a problem since it's release back in The current version has been a problem since APRIL 2019
- DS + UB has been a problem since April 2019.
- Moris have been a problem forever
- Keys have been a problem forever
- NOED has been a problem for literally ever
- Nurse has been a problem since her release, and shes one of the original 5!!
- Spirit has been a problem since release
- Deathslinger has been a problem since release March 2020
- All of the useless perks i have listed have been useless since release, and many we even TOLD YOU BEFORE THE PATCH CAME OUT that they were useless, yet nothing was done for them.
- The "buffs" for the useless perks keep them just as useless
because you are not the one that decides these things, and you do not have all the facts. you believe they did this becuase of x, y and z...when they had data that says it needed to be done for reasons A, b and c. Just because you and everyone you know think they are doing this wrong doesn't mean they are. you are just upset that your favorite thing got nixed and what not. give it up, learn that there is more data that you don't even know and you know about 1/50th of what you believe you really know. I've seen 5 streamers today say discordance needed to be changed and now it works better. and two of them are survivors only, and 2 are legion mains! I've seen 4 streamers say they loved the MacMillian changes! And when I said people don't like them they said what are they smoking??!! So what you know is not close to the whole and that is why you will never understand anything the devs do NOR will you even come close to accepting them because you don't have the information the devs have on hand that you claim to know.

Before you release another chapter, have a ptb for console, there we can see whether the new update is gonna eject fecal matter on the frames
ok they will surely do this... i mean console companies (xbox/sony) require a several month lead in and a solid game (not a testing platform) play set. they require it to be tested and validated for their standards. the DEVS have said NO console PTB because of this.

Chill out is my first request. If you are going to make a player test build, meaning you are giving players the option to test something, why give them a half finished project. It's like asking a teacher whether you did a problem right when you only showed half of what you did. It makes no sense. And like I said not telling the community about a change to good perk is really a bad idea. Suire other multiplayer don't do it but that's because they either
A get enough feedback through regular gameplay and can respond quickly
B haven't changed everything that was promised pre-patch
Let's give an example. Let's say Activision nerfs a gun on CoD and the community tells them the gun is useless. So they quickly react and have a buff made to that gun quickly.
the fact you're whining that you don't get some information in a PTB that you are lucky to have. the PTB in terms of DBD is to spot BIG GLARING issues. a small range change (which btw is a single value in the database) and I doubt that changing the number to one that is close to the range of the majority of maps is not going to be an issue. how ever, if you change the maps that they want people to get in there to try and spot locations that will cause issues. it's to see how the new perks work with older perks, how the new killer powers interact with the old perks. for the PTB to be meaningful at all it needs to be active for 3-4 weeks and have a player base that will go there for that time period and instead BHVR runs it for 3 days to 1 week, and does not compensate people in ANYWAY to play on it so not many do. did you even know that the PTB has no matchmaking what so ever? there isn't even the original rank plus or minus 6. no mmr, nothing... why? they don't have enough there. so they don't have it. Now to ask you this: does CoD mobile have a test server? nope they took that away in season 11. why? who knows... the devs decided it wasn't to be. you do not own stock in bhvr, you do not gain any true say so in any case by buying the game. You CAN bring up issues, but when the OP says oh noe!!!! I can't take it when one perk wasn't used in testing. I bet you anything there were other non tested things done..
I know for a fact several things were not tested in the blight PTB time, as well as during PH's PTB and midchapter patch PTB.... you and other people here do not determine what is put on the PTB and it's not wrong for them to make changes without the PTB. be glad you get a ptb, Heck I remember when they put up the PTB to test something, people found an error in the game they removed the PTB and when they put the PTB back up things that were being tested that had nothing to do with the error was NOT in the PTB again. guess what. get over the importance you put yourself in. they have ignored people telling them that there are bugs on the PTB with content and pushed it live and never fixed it, why? they wanted it that way specifically.

Then what's the point of the ptb. the point of the ptb to to test changes before they go live, by not putting discordance on the ptb, they skipped a step and added a change into the live game without any feedback, which as you can see lead to backlash. If i think every change they make should be tested then im wrong? Thats asking for disaster, there's a reason the ptb exists and the discordance change defeated the entire purpose of it.
No the PTB is not a strict test server. They have made changes without the PTB being used or part of the loop. WHY? because they saw a problem and they fixed it. they do not have to give you crap, the PTB is a BONUS for you but most that go to the ptb would not even give their feedback about it or any problems and just come her and complain just like you. I said "the PTB is to check for the big issues" a single perk with a small range change is not something that is a big issue. to me, it is not even a worry, I don't use it all the time so why worry? you're freaking out over a small change as if your first born was sacrificed to the entity. I even showed you how trivial it is that people will come in here and complain about a change even when it's on the PTB. I mean whine really, The door change went to the ptb and people decided that it was a problem on the ptb and whined about it. you are GIVEN the chance to help them trouble shoot it, but not GUARANTEED that chance. You are the one with the attitude that you have to see everything before it's posted... many games even make changes without a PTB at all, and I'm talking about multiplayer games too. WHY? because the devs are the ones in control and they decide what gets posted and what doesn't. If you had come here and on the feedback channel said " hey bhvr, did you know there was a change to discordance? was this intended or an accident?" that'd gone over much better but here it came across "WOE IS ME!!!! THE SKY IS FALLING! THEY CHANGED THE PERK I USE AND I HAVE BEEN WRONGED!" this is why I responded as I did.

WGLF is safe unhooks too......
yea that is what they are getting at, make that bonus for everyone. honestly i think it makes the safe unhook award cheap because you don't have to do anything and you'll get it. having it be the person that unhooked is the incentive to make the better play. to award others for your direct action would actually make it less of a chance people would go for the safe unhook. Why? because people would say I don't need to do this why should I give everyone 500 points and they go for the quick unhook.
Now the question of getting stacks... I don't know in one unhook I got 2. first a safe unhook and then a protection hit after because the killer came back to the hook before the heal was complete.that's not hard and bbq requires you to hook someone so in one shot, less time than it takes to down one survivor, hook them, down another and then hook them. I had 2 stacks.

What SunderMun said, the real issue is that they just released it without telling anyone. They take a perk that wasn't being complained about or was broken or op or anything and just change it without anyone in the community being informed at all. Even a tweet saying "we're also changing discordance" and bam community would at least know. It's really just kinda sudden and concerning that they'd release a change without testing it on the PTB which is what a PTB is supposed to do. Or that they took 3 weeks to release the patch and barely changed anything from the PTB besides this for the most part and a slight tweak to Pyramid Head. That is what's concerning

the point is it shouldn't have been touched at all aside from the ONE point that people wanted changed, the notifications
how hard is that to realize? nothing else needed touching, so every other condition added is a nerf whether you want to acknowledge it or not.. doesn't matter how much or how little impact it will have.. it was unnecessary
add the fact Thana and Pop were also nerfed, it's pretty ######### irritating this was added last minute
not everything is going to be shown in the PTB. the PTB is to check for the big issues like maps that were changed, large perk changes, in order to get it fixed. I'll tell you if they aren't trying to fix things before the ptb is set and then decide that they have worked out something on another subject they will do that work but it won't have the PTB updated. if you think this is a test server like the mmo's have, then you are wrong, and if you think you're entitled to know every change coming up before it is done then you are WRONG. HOWEVER, is it good to change things and suddenly spring it on the game population or not say it at all? nope. look at what happened when the ptb was put live for the mid chapter patch. suddenly because they changed that the lights turn on immediately when you pull the door lever, people whined "why was this shadow nerfed!?" when it was the PTB and NOT the live client. no one is going to be happy so they've said that they put things on the ptb and if it isn't ready for the ptb in time that doesn't mean it's going to be held for the next big ptb test. sigh when will people stop complaining that the game isn't made the WAY THEY WANT IT and accept they have no control over the decisions? HERE NOW: I am not saying you can't complain or bring up something and ask hey was this intended? it might not have been. but stop complaining that something wasn't in the PTB thus it shouldn't have gone to the LIVE client.

Ok, I just go through a game where I sabotaged a hook before they could hook the other survivor. He immediately drops them and tries to come for me. I loop them for two fens and he lost me in the shack. He then proceeds to slugg EVERY survivor (except me) and tries to force me down as well as everyone else on the ground. Once he gets me in a pallet drop ( these hotboxes tho 🤣) he hooks me with everyone else of the ground for a 4k. This was a Freddy.
Why is everyone so angry with these sabotages? I'm generally concerned for the try hards because the sweat is so real I can't help but crack up everytime. I'm not throwing dirt on anyone, except this Freddy, but holy crap he was sooo mad 🤣
they are "angry" because you stopped them from getting a hook probably. If someone sabo's a hook and i doubt i'll get to another i'm dropping the survivor that I have and going after you that will require one or both of the others to get off of their gens to come heal the other one and thus puts pressure on you, the survivors while i am hunting you down. why? because it's what I am supposed to do. I'm not going to let someone wiggle free and stun me and thus 4 survivors (or 3 or even 2) will be running around free to do what ever.
Get over the "survivor's rule book" that you believe says the killer must act in accordance with your wishes. I'm gonna give you a hell of a time if I possibly can! I am not giving you an easy match just because you sabo'd the hook, unless I WANT to. This is not your decision, it's mine. you sabo'd it! good for you! you realize it'll be back in 30 seconds and if I get you down, hook you, get back to the other survivor and then I pick them up and put them on that hook that's 2 hooks and lots of pressure or game over. depends on what's going on.

Well in the last few days i often heard people complaining that they got a penalty when the killer DCt so i hope if its a bug it will get fixed fast
What I was saying is there are times where their client says the killer dc'd and knocks them out, but what really happened is their client only said killer dc'd but what actually happened is they were bounced from the game and thus they were the one that actually dc'd. If i misspoke i apologize but I may have been overly tired when responding and didn't realize it at the time. anyways there are things we can't know when people claim this as they are unwilling to have the proof said (swf and everyone was bumped) they only talk about them as if it was a solo survivor queue (very possible) but that would not give the proof that they were actually dc'd at all. also because their client thinks the killer dc'd in one way, you can't spectate. this is what happened to me when i was booted, said killer dc'd and we all had escaped, I couldn't spectate but my friends were in the game still!

Let’s hope for the worst /s
I'd like a better match making function but i don't think mmr is it. I don't trust how it was doing it. TBH I don't think mmr was even turned on when they put it in. I honestly don't have faith that it exists but is there to be blamed if there is a problem once they "turn it on again" I feel they just turned off match making and hoped for the best. it's only my opinion and i can only say I was never matched properly when it came back in. I was facing people who outclassed me with their killer when i played survivor, or I was placed against people that weren't very skilled when I was killer. but it is only conjecture that there was no mmr at all because they say there was and since it wasn't visible and there was no visible means of proving or disproving then there was nothing I could say against it. convenient for them! :) and yes i saw the sarcasm there too :)

If a killer has a map that is horribly crippling on their power, why has BHVR no implemented a system where those maps have a lesser chance of coming around? Like Myers and GF have a lower chance on the farms, Legion has a lesser chance to get big maps, Trapper has a lower chance on indoor maps. I'm not trying to hold killers hands or anything but like, having your power almost be rendered useless because of the map itself has got to be frustrating, killers already aren't power role, at least the lower tier killers like I mentioned could gain some help from a system like this
how about lets also put in a feature that makes it less likely for survivors to get survivor sided maps as well oh wait that'd be what you're talking about!? how about we make maps that are killer sided less likely to be picked up for survivors. honestly random maps is good, don't like a map put up an offering for something you do like atleast it'll be 100% if no one puts up another map offering.
-
match making is your rank + or - 6. so if you are a killer at rank 14, plus or minus 6 puts you at 8-20 range for match making. now if you take a while to make it into a match the game will expand that 6 on each side to more. so yes it is possible to have ranks 1-20 in your lobby.
-
there have been issues occasionally but not regularly where the killer dc's and someone gets hit with a penalty but looks like they got out on their end. now some times that is because they dc'd and their system is reporting incorrectly. another issue here can be a hack but i think this might be unlikely.
-
@th3 said:
For real though, mmr will fix that as current rank system is more activity based.
only if it is implemented properly and took into account dc's properly (intentional or unintentional) FARMING killers, FARMING SURVIVORS.... and much, MUCH MORE! Also it needs to take into account those that intentionally de-rank. so unfortunately MMR will never work properly

@Afius said:
Wth isn't that on their side?
the automatic system that is there can not differentiate between a network issue, their issue or your issue (not counting leave match button). it's on them that they didn't address this either initially or much sooner but it is as it is. It is also possible that the client is seeing a connection issue with their services and this possibility IS NOT on their end, nor is it on your end.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198971/dc-penalties-are-stupid
i Agree. Ive seen more people not load into the match before it even begins which annoying. Disconnects still do occur even with the penalty. Two people dced because of a leather face camping. My input would be to have a penalty for the people who deliberately press the leave match button. The people who dc because of internet issues or dbd problems get a join back button and maybe get like a little penalty. I dunno but dbd is giving me more stressed about dcing than enjoying the game. Idk. I know that I’ve never left a match deliberately. If anything I kill myself on hook. If there was a join back button it would be better
so how about the people that pull their ethernet cable from their router or pc? how about the people that use the pc to block dbd to disconnect? how about the people that place their pc in airplane mode? none of those address the same issue as clicking the leave match button.
how about a join back for someone that intentionally dc'd and then came back after they avoided a hit, down and hook? this is a great idea. lets dc just before the killer gets close enough, then suddenly appear back in the match again! yes lets keep that thought there I'm sorry though i'd support a re-join you'd see more people disconnecting and then restarting and rejoining at this point.
@tylxr_jay said:
For some reason when killers dc randomly me and my other swf get the penalty ourselves for no apparent reason even tho its not me that disconnected.
secondly for how buggy and how much dbd can crash its kinda stupid to have a dc penalty. the amount of times ive gotten matchmaking banned for my game crashing is unreal.
Yous really need to worry about optimising the game as a whole before worrying about annoying ######### like dc penalties.
I have had dbd crash a few times in 2 years. nothing much other than computer issues on my end causing them! perhaps you have issues you haven't investigated. I have suddenly seen the match end and killer listed as dc and i aswell but those that I played with were STILL in and playing the match. This is one of a few times i've been dc'd, and it's not happened since dedicated servers.

You also got to be careful that you don't fuel unnecessary flames.
1. It's quite possible they could just add the event currency with the Rift like they did last time. If you remember last year the event cosmetics were under store for at least a week or two before we actually got the currency when the rift hit.
2. The initial 2018 was terrible in terms of execution. Survivors were throwing games just to get serum. Literally harvesting plants then getting themselves killed on hook so they can go to the next game this made extremely unfun for people who wanted to play normally. It also made it harder to get serum for the Killer because you usually couldn't get more than 4 hooks.
3. Don't really have anything to say on this OK
the halloween event was started late and merged with the thanksgiving/christmas events so we really got one event instead of 2 or 3. the skins were available but because the rift wasn't ready they ended up starting AFTER halloween that's why the skins were in the store at halloween but the event not started.
I am holding out till I see what it is, instead of taking people who have data mined things and skewed the information their way and then others keep parroting the information and each time it's slightly different. I will hold judgement till i see what is going on.

Yeah but unbreakable is single use... No Mither is for memes. i would post game examples but i dont edit my footage so it would just get taken down by mods bc i dont censor names.
Its not the frequent slugging. Its the toxic slugging, where the entire purpose is to troll and let all 4 players bleed out. Even happening once a month is too often. Because then survivors have to deal with so many other gamebreaking bugs that actually are in favor of the killer. The only thing the killer can really cry about is SWF, which is actually a fair complaint when its a competent 4man.
Its the dev not punishing the actual abusers. huehue i got camped. Don't care. Don't even care if i get tunneled. Its the unavoidable glitches in the game, sandbagging teammates etc. People have a habit of DCing outside of wildly toxic/broken game situations because they're extremely pessimistic and if they aren't earning something for their time, they're going to leave the game by their own terms.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1683471#Comment_1683471
Don't take any of this the wrong way, because i can tell youre a fan of DBD. I am too. I have over 2k hours as a casual player. So, lets get started.
If they could tell when you clicked leave match, versus the game crashing then you wouldn't get an escalating penalty. Stop believing everything BHVR says about transparency. Look at their MMR. DCing isn't always what happens when someone disconnects. Hell, even if i have no security software running, the EAC will randomly crash, crashing the game(more so if i have my firewall running. It tends to conflict so i disable it). None of it is trackable atm by the dev. If it was, I wouldn't get a ban for an EAC Security Violation, Steam having a hiccup and having to reboot their servers, or general game crashes(esp since i -always- send a report when i'm given the option).
What are you going on about people breaking the rules? I'm pissed people are so toxic and can't just play the game. I cannot tell if youre being a sarcastic ass or youre confused. I DC when people start 4man slugging, teleporting/warping, have a 10m hitbox, I lag so hard i get stuck in place and the killer can still move, or they start hacking(again, like above, i dont post video proof on the forums bc i dont doctor my footage to edit names. screw that, abusers should be shamed but its not my forum).
Me? A programmer? Not currently. What does that have to do with anything? You don't even understand code in the first place. "where'd you get their code" lel.... Dude i'm probably 2-3x your age. In 2002 i tried to clone and remake Seventh Cross on my old ass Packard Bell PC with an experimental dreamcast emulator my brother made(who has since worked for places like Shutterfly, etc). I actually did a fairly decent job but i never could finish the game because it was difficult to test. And I was just one teenager doing that. They have a whole team. Everyone and their mother technically already has the code.. Seriously? lol..... I don't need BHVR's code to know its spaghetti code. I don't need to read reddit posts. I don't need to come here to have a look see. I've been playing this game since late 2016. There is ######### wrong and BHVR is in denial when they say "pretty good job so far". Thats a meme for a reason.
While the game is actually in a fairly decent spot, they honestly need to have an entire chapter dedicated to game fixes and QOL improvements that isn't nerfing something the killer or survivors find fun. Some examples:
Better EAC: I find games with people using cheats. Why am i staying in these games besides catching some footage, DCing then reporting? I don't really want to run the risk of staying in the game and getting banned because we were on the same team. I've had more stupid crap happen playing an online MP game that wasn't technically an Indie dev. Hell, ive seen games with less bugs when I played Mechwarrior on Mplayer in the mid 90s.
Map Revamp: Go through every map and iron the code layout to fix broken parts of the map that cause people to get infinitely stuck in place(this has been an issue for me since 2018), remove double pallet spawns(its happening, again), and force the spawn of the hatch and gates to not be 3 freaking feet away from each other in 90% of games.
Better Reporting: Currently we have to have video(not screen capture) proof of all reports that are... how the dev says "bad enough to warrant reporting"... but its an extremely annoying process. Because you have to upload it to youtube, and send the link. If you don't have good internet, and the video is more than 30 seconds long.. you're gonna be there a while. So this interrupts playing the game in general.
Actual Beta Testing: This slays the ######### out of me that they release the PTB, but most games are just people memeing, harder than on live servers. So i don't feel like the dev gets much actual feedback. They have more than enough testing players and Fog Whisperers that they could have a pre-PTB. Give an extra week for the first team, then give the PTB to the public and let them break it. Having multiple testing phases on a game that you have to ADD CODE TO(you see what i did there? Because you dont understand how DLC works, sir) would help them identify what theyre adding to the game thats breaking other stuff.
In closing: Games with mass amounts of DLC tends to be ..... spaghetti code... Just some spaghetti tastes and looks so much better than others.
First of all great assumption. I've programmed in machine code, assembly code, basic, cobol, fortran, C, C+, C++, Python, Java I've used CLI, I've used DOS 3.0, 3.3, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 6.1 batch file command structures. I've programmed BBS's before the internet was more than ARPANET. You assume much my young padiwan. My first computer was connected to a TV set on a Channel 3 or 4 switch like the old Atari 2600 and 5200 along with the original Nintendo were with a TAPE DRIVE data storage. So the rest of your argument just flew out the window. I know what "Spaghetti Code" is I also know that the DBD code is encrypted and you'd have to have obtained it via a pirate site if you were to get this code. You obviously don't know what Spaghetti Code really is otherwise you'd know that it would not work well at all yet how can my computer that I, my self, built, loaded, programmed and installed everything have DBD crash maybe once every 3 or 6 months and then looking at the crash log I find out it's tied to an error that is in the windows logs for an event that caused the video drivers to stop working? I have built enterprise networks, I have programed professional CISCO routers VIA CLI and remote CLI to create a network properly. Now that my resume is PARTIALLY out there do you wish to retract your statements?
NO? fine here you are: First: if you have no proof that the game is written in a "SPAGHETTI CODE" style you are talking out your ass. stop making claims that your brain can't even cash properly.
Second: The game can tell when someone presses the functionality button "leave match" and differentiate that with a network or other crash. used to be there were "silent" dc's and "audible" DC's. my theory is that audible was a click leave match backed up by empirical testing with a SWF. I never talked about EAC crashing, I never talked about anything but the fact if you CLICK a functionality button in a program, it KNOWS what that button does and transmits that information to the server, THUS they can know if you clicked the button
Third: you tried to make things look all up and up but since i've destroyed your argument about dc's and my age oh yes i've got almost 3K hours since starting play in 2018. I will stop right there as I have to go do something, if you wish me to continue please do reply I will be back.

There's really zero reason why it couldn't be dealt with.. I mean, the far less disruptive problem of the last survivor on the hook dragging things out by actually struggling has been curtailed harshly to the point that even activated deliverance gets happily skipped.. having 4 down really needn't be any different.. even to the point of game just ends, happily skipping unbreakable, wouldn't really be that bad a fix.
You do realize that the issue you talk of where you can't get off the hook if you're on your first hook and the last survivor was not even an issue before deliverance was brought out? in october 2018 I started playing and watching people play even before that and the last person was always sacrificed without a chance to get off. this means your point of deliverance being blocked at this point is a mute point since the issue you are talking about existed before the perk was brought out. so here also is another aspect to your post, the game WILL end with everyone on the floor, as there is a bleed out timer and that will end the game at some point. Sure it's 4 minutes if you were only downed right then, but still deal with it however I would not be amiss to have there be a give up function that awards the killer the hooks (up to 3 or what ever is left at the time) and the final sac. I'd be happy to go like that, that'd let you get out faster and nothing is robbed from the killer either. The killer should also have the same thing and it should also credit all currently living surivors something equivalent.

With the '5 min block' as it is now, they don't do any good.
They should be dynamic. The game can tell what's been going on, so, if someone DCs because the killer's been slugging and waiting for people to bleed out, a DC could get no ban for the dcing survivor, but a 10 min ban for the killer. and a marker for why. As in: if they keep doing that, their ban time gets higher each time.
Likewise, if a survivor insta-dcs against certain killers/maps, they game could put them solely into matches with said killer/on the map.
thoughts?
you are right they should be dynamic... 5 minutes for the first dc, 20 minutes for the second, 80 minutes for the 3rd..... that's quite the dynamic... yes and with your ideas the survivors can't complete the gens before the minute mark, and if they do, the gens completely reset to 0 and they have to be done again.
Please point to the RULES published by Behavior where Slugging is a punishable offense? Please prove your point. also you might want to go find where it says tunneling and camping are against the rules. I'd love to know exactly where.

first of all, the DC penalty should not even be in the game if you can’t fix the crashes that force people to quit. There have been a lot of games recently where, upon spawning in as a survivor the game freezes and the audio gets thrown into a loop. Moments later you return to the Xbox dashboard. Once you get back to the character selection screen the ban notice is there because you supposedly left the game. You ABSOLUTELY cannot have a DC penalty in effect until this is fixed. I would have thought that is common sense. What the heck is going on with this game? Where are the devs heads at? Fix the game first don’t worry about a damn DC penalty when your game isn’t even running properly.
*side note: there are also Moments where after using a vault as a survivor your screen will freeze momentarily allowing the killer to simply walk around and get a free hit on you. how is this not making people upset enough to leave the game? And then you get to deal with tunneling and camping after that. That’s so frustrating you have so little to defend yourself with in this game. Generator and hook simulator is what I think about this game. It’s atrocious how bad my experience is playing survivor game after game. Killer is so much more fun. Just my opinion. But fix that vault glitch seriously!
second of all, the DC penalty should not even be in the game unless you can establish a system that works. By this I mean players should be able to reconnect to the game to avoid the penalty which is very similar to how other games are that incorporate a DC penalty which is typically useful for ranked play. However, a smaller penalty will be administered once rejoining that will allow you to play once certain conditions are met or depending on what you were doing when you left the game.
so it can't be your computer.... it can only be behavior. well I haven't had a crash in months, and it was months before that when the crash prior and of those two, guess what! it was my computer causing the issue. I fixed it and no crashes... I've had no audio issues, I've had no graphics issues so how can it be behavior when i'm not having the issue? if your system is low specs sure it might not always run well but that's not their fault. anyways the DC penalties should stay because there were so many before. sorry as you can see almost all have disagreed with you already.

Yup. I'm going to keep DCing when mfs play like #########. There is no reason I should stay in a game where the killer is literally refusing to hook survivors and letting them bleedout. "Just do gens" lel how do you do gens when all 4 players are on the ground and unable to do anything? I just literally took a 2 month break from the game and my 2nd game back is a slugging trapper who just afks after everyone got downed. Meanwhile I need unhooks for the rift? Yeah i'm definitely not staying when not only can i not earn points, but i cannot even attempt my challenge. There is a difference between DCing due to being salty and due to other players being toxic. I didn't buy the game to deal with other players farming me. I could even see if i was in a SWF. But i'm not. I'm not DCing bc i got downed first. I'm DCing because of BS someone else is causing. Also, farming with the killer isn't technically playing by the devs "rules", so why should i be punished for leaving that game when I want to -play- the game, not just boringly get free points?
Then you have gamebreaking bugs. Like with the stuck in place bugs still in the game, long before the hill bug was a thing... meanwhile they have YET to fix any of them. I was watching Pupper's stream like a week ago and queen literally said in chat "stay away from the hill". lol what???? So, play the game as is, or get a DC penalty because the developer cannot do much outside of bandaid fixes and every new DLC is spaghetti code piled on top of existing problems. The DC penalty should not exist until all of these major issues are fixed. This is not a ranked style game. Yall are so hell bent on punishing players when the dev needs to just plain fix the problems.

You give BHVR way too much credit. They cannot tell. That would be way too easy. I got a security violation in my last game and it still gave me the DC penalty.
Yes they can tell when someone clicks "LEAVE MATCH" that is a metric they have access to, what they can't tell is if someone pulls their ethernet cable or turns off their router or does something on their computer to disconnect intentionally. that is why they are not letting any dc's slide since it was so rampant, just like you said, you're going to DC anytime you feel like you don't like how someone else plays. why play this game then? just play a different game if that's your outlook. the "hill bug" you talk about was fixed two months ago maybe three and hasn't had an issue since. You claim the game is written as spaghetti code.... do you even have proof of this or do you just claim it is so thinking people will agree with you? Do you even have the programming background to recognize it if you even saw the actual coding of the game.... Please let me know where you got the actual programming code for this game I'm sure the devs want to know this as well. This isn't a ranked game, so why play it if others are hellbent on making it unfun for you and making you DC? I'm hell bent on maintaining the rules. if i'm playing with others I follow the rules, you should too. If you break the rules you should be penalized. this is not a different concept than playing a role playing game where you go in and get the party killed intenetionally, the party will just tell you not come to the next session because you made the game unfun for them (breaking the rules of the group which you agreed to abide by when you agreed to play).

Your logic is faulty because you assume that small group are all online at the same time. The smaller the group, the harder the logistics are. They will have a hard time getting games and have LONG ques.
I used SMALL numbers. you know how many people i saw dc yesterday? about 25 people in about 20 games. so that's 1/4 of the people that played that game with me that dc'd. so if i'm seeing 25 people dc and there are 1000's of people playing you can absolutely see that the numbers could be multiplied by 50-500 times. still the numbers are on their side, not ours (the ones that don't break the rules) because we also have the same issue.

I don't think you realize that they won't be getting a reward. My punishment is far worse than a Ban or loss of Pips. They will be on the Island of Misfit Toys, so to speak. Getting games will take forever, and when they do someone is certainly going to DC. Advancement will be near impossible. But that is my speculation. I believe the DCer crowd are an annoying minority, and thus would be a much smaller Que than the rest of us.
hmmm ok lets look at this.... 50 killers, 200 survivors. and 10 killers and 30 survivors get pushed to this queue leaving us 40 killers and 170 survivors. so with 40 killers you can only have 160 survivors in a game at anyone time, and then you have 10 people that have to WAIT for a match to complete. they however have 10 killers and 30 survivors, that means 7 killers are guaranteed a match and 28 survivors are guaranteed a match. so 3 killers have to wait and 2 survivors have to wait. wow.... what a great trade off they get faster matches than we do and they are the ones that broke the rules. sure they'll have a dc or what not. but you know what? those of us that have to wait will resent their faster matches. it's about the numbers.... they won't wait as long as we do in the long run when you remove them out of the rotation like that thus you reward them.

I have the Dead By Daylight game sharing from my brother. I wanted to know if i buy it in my accout , do i lose everything? or stay as it was? please Dev respond!
to sum up, all your character progress is saved under your player cloud id which is seperate from your brother's player cloud id. but once you buy your own game again you will have access to what progress you have on your account for the base game, then when the dlc's come back as you buy them you'll have access to the characters where you left them. Again your account is connected to dbd seperately than your brothers but your steam has to acknowledge your dlcs once your steam starts keeping track of things. also I think your achievements will be the same :)

I'm getting disconnected penalty for my bad internet speed keeps kicking me off I have 3 xbox's always kicks one off when all 3 are on now the one that lost connect is getting banned I'm not quitting im losing internet!!! Then get penalty like I quit. Not right!!! I own 3 DBD games with many dlcs if not fixed will eliminate game due to the hassle and system not recognizing the bad internet speed.
you have 3 xboxes that are online and one drops it's conenction? it's not your internet but your ROUTER. this is not something for BEHAVIOR to be involved in. don't have all three at once.... have one going when you want solid internet conenction. Your router has to determine which units have access to the internet and sometimes that means shutting down one for a while. stop blaming your isp for your own equipment failing at this. this is a problem for YOU to solve not complain about it here when it's in your court and capability to solve!
@Moundshroud said:
So in the short time the penalties have been reintroduced we have heard a lot of squawking and complaining from those they affect. In fact, the gist of such arguments are:
- Things here aren't fair so we should have the right to DC whenever we want.
- Your DC don't do anything anyway.
- You are inconveniencing me!
Ok? I'd actually take all the whining and noise as a sign that the penalties are doing what they are supposed to do, i.e. annoy the people who waste our time in the same way they annoy us. All that being said, I still think there is a better way to go.
Don't ban these people with a pattern of DC behavior. Send them off to their own Que. Let them play only with other people who feel the same way they do. If their arguments are true, and they should have the RIGHT to DC whenever they want, then they won't be annoyed or upset when people constantly do it to them. I would think they would be thrilled. Sure, the Ques for them will be slower, and games cancel out a lot, and advancement will be pretty much a joke. But hey, that ability to drop out of those bad games will help them get right into the next one. Again, I strongly suggest that we let them (route them) to play with their own ilk. The only way back out of their Que and into sanity with the rest of us would be to play a certain number of games without DC. I personally think the minimum should be (30).
if you put them in their own queue, they will get to have their matches and keep getting them and dcing against whom ever sure but what happens to us? we get slower matches and longer wait times. so yes lets REWARD the ones that break the rules with better match times and penalize those that don't break the rules with longer wait times.
Removing the offenders shows them they BROKE the rules and won't get a reward for doing it. remember when it was a -4 or -2 pip if you disconnected? that was a freaking reward! they WANTED to get to the lower ranks! they WANTED to have easier matches! and it was given to them! (it was -4 some time before october 2018 when i started playing so i may be wrong about that but it was originally for me -2 if you disconnected when I started playing). SO I'd rather take slower matches than reward people that break the rules.

i never said, or indicated for that matter, anything like that.
i merely stated a fact. there were no personal thoughts in that whatsoever.
please stop putting words in my mouth i never said.
and I explained how and why I replied the way I did. I just stated facts and the conclusion that is drawn all over the place here on the forums when what you stated is said. you have since said you did not mean that but when you leave things be you might have people draw conclusions because you did not completely speak your thought totally.

The reason it's an issue is because the person in question was downed outside the window and crawled to it knowing that they couldn't be picked up. It's all about intent. and when I've got to protect two hooks, I don't have time to pussyfoot around getting the right prompt to work.
You don't see a problem with that? I don't get mad when survivors get through a window and escape me, that's part of the game. But when I clearly have them and they exploit a flaw to escape that's annoying
so? if i'm downed, I'm still going to find a way to occupy the killer's time longer to help the team. be that to a window... to the corner of the match, to a pallet to make them break the pallet instead of pick me up..... again why is this a damn issue? becuase you got "got" by it? well i'm sorry it's not a rule breaking thing that a survivor doesn't stay right where they are downed!
-
@Ryan489x said:
The issue I'm talking about is not being able to pick up a survivor if they're right next to the window. I got burned by that. I could have had 3 people hooked but I was trying to get the third, they were right against a window and all I could do was go through not pick them up. so I lost 2 of them. If I could have hooked the third I would have had the final person in bottle neck.
I've been burned by it and i've burned others by it. why is this even an issue? just because you made a mistake with the controls you have doesn't mean it's a bug! when i'm killer and i get gotten by it sure i laugh it off and it only happens once. then i go back through the window, pick up and hook... little time lost. as survivor i know they'll come back and learn... not always but most of the time they still pick me up.
I agree it'd be nice to not have the close hatch AND the pick up be the same one, it's a tactic that is used to weaponize ds when on the hatch. but till it gets a chance to be remapped, i laugh when i step through the window and say "you got me good that time you wily survivor! "

And the game for consoles was out in 20 june of 2017. There is no way for 100% that she could get that Legacy at this time.
fair enough i didn't know that part of it I always thought it was on console from the start.
-
@Ihatelife said:
Most Blatant? Let me introduce a crossplay Claudette that is screaming that she hacked the legacy ( I was on steam, so there was no way that she get this legally.)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JBAZ56130C11/20201014012125-2.jpg
are you saying that someone on console could not get legacy? I think you are a bit off but claudette has that outfit and can have legacy. because you're on steam doesn't mean they are limited to what you would have in your costume inventory.

because OP mentioned both.
so i told him that DCs would stop, as they were now punished, but hook suicides wouldnt, as there was no punishment.
thus indicating you think there should be a punishment and why i responded as such.
