bring them into a throw away match, and drop them on the ground, and placing them in chests that you open after taking the items. lol

Right now deep wound in the current meta is annoying. These changes I believe would make it more interesting 🤔
Buff:Mending now requires another survivor to heal you just like with injury
Nerf:Decrease how fast the deep wound timer goes down so its not to overpowered
This will make deep wound more fun since it will actually be threatening if you get it. What do you all think ?
so it's meta eh? well let me see... what causes deep wounds: 1) LEGION and DeathSlinger, 2) borrowed time 3) stiptic agent and 4) one or two more perks that aren't always used. hmmm this is an issue with Meta right now? I don't see how it does. and if you're saying it's part of the meta, you'd be wrong really. only main cause of this that is played more is borrowed time. no reason to fix it.

Why?
What was good enough to make you spend the money on it. And if you are willing how much have you spent on cosmetics in total?
I'm curious because it seems that BHVR keeps adding more and more cosmetics but I have only bought 1 and have gotten 1 battle pass in the past.
I spent 10 bucks for the first pass, and i've gotten 5000 auric cells back since (and spent 4000). by the end of this rift it'll be 6000 back and spent 5000. I'm going to have paid less than 2 bucks (american) for 5 premium rift passes. I'd say that's a pretty good price!

To go with that - a couple weeks ago I had a game as Doctor on Gas Heaven. I found a Nancy in a locker in shack, hooked her in basement. I found a Dwight in a locker right beside shack (thanks to a Doctor illusion) and hooked him right next to shack. I saw the other Dwight urban evading toward shack to save the Nancy, and the Feng was right by the jungle gym where I just hooked Dwight. That's zero people on gens, and 2 people on hooks, all with 1 gen left, and no slow downs. That's a TON of pressure. So I hung around. They made it worse by all crowding around where the Dwight was hooked. I turned 4 people being alive at 1 gen left into a 4k at 1 gen left.
So yes, it IS a strat. OP, don't make stupid plays, don't get punished for stupid plays.
I agree if you dont want the killer around, give them a reason to leave. also if camping killer and you are on the hook, wait it all out. waste the killer's time while the others get the gens done! it sucks for points and pipping but that's ONE match... the next time it might be someone else and you do the gens etc.

If survivors are near the hook (crouching for example) and the killer camping, he will not have emblem penalty, even if not in a chase. It was on a livestream when they announced that feature back then. There even was pictures and examples to illustrate. So maybe it changed after but I haven't seen anything about that recently.
the description i've seen specifically says in a chase but i could be wrong, but I will say this I've seen them right by the hook and I had no chase I still got penalties.

I think they should still be playable, even if they stop appearing in bloodwebs. Just like every other event item & offering.
It could be similar to the cancerous flowers that spawn from the archive challenges. They can still spawn but you're not likely to see it because most everyone's already completed them.
they are not playable because they would do nothing. blighted hooks and gens are not appearing in the game because the functionality is turned off. doing this would make the event meaningless.
-
so today i was playing killer and the group three genned themselves. there were two hooks near, so i hooked in my area and patrolled the gens... am I camping? nope! not at all.... is the survivor still there? yup..... so in essence while the survivor is on that hook in the a rea i'm patrolling not camping. most will still call it camping, but what am I supposed to do? take 5 minutes, walk the survivor across the damn map hook them away from the remaining gens? oh and they stopped trying becuase I was getting the hits and dows for it. lol Camping is very rarely a successful strat, same with tunneling, but it is rarely a successful strat none the less. If I'm moving around a hook it's because I'm looking for people, as it's my JOB to keep survivors on the hook or keep putting them on it. but keep thinking what you will, it's just something you have to get used to.

Emblem points/progress lost in the gardian (not sure of the name in english, the first one, for defending gens) one indeed.
And no it's if you are near the hook (16m ? I'm not sure of the number) and if no survivor is in the same perimeter. If the killer is facecamping but other survivors stay near the hooked one, the killer will not lose emblem points.
it may be 16m, i thought it was 8. but the only time the penalty to the emblem progress (reduces how much you've pushed for that one emblem and thus penalizes you on your pipping system) is stopped is when the game registers you in a chase. doesn't matter if your survivor is outside of the range but just if the game registers a chase it stops penalizing you, and then restarts the penalty if the chase ends.
What you are thinking about i believe is the perk camaraderie from steve where it stops the struggle timer of the person on a hook if the survivor is within a specific range.

These offerings are playable only within the Halloween event, however, I feel like they should refund the offerings by the amount, let’s say you got 3 of them, after the event is over, it could refund you them for their price, in this case, 9K bp’s (3k each), I have over 70 in total, and I feel like it would be better, instead of using them next Halloween, to refund the bloodpoints spent, it could be heck of a better use than straight up just using them, since they only benefit you by 1K bloodpoints, yes I’m aware they stack and all, but the max you can get is 6K if everyone brings one, including the guaranteed one, which is equivalent of 2 pústula petals, I don’t know, just feel like it’s a good idea.
nope not at all... the last three halloween events have had this and they have been available every year if you had them from the previous years.

Farming is not a reportable offense.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1755218#Comment_1755218
The DC penalty is not broken, it punished you for disconnecting, which you did.
Farming is only reportable if the killer forces you to farm. It's happened to me before. I kept being pulled off gens and downed, then survivor and killer blocked me in so i couldn't do anything. that's reportable, but yea generally no not reportable.
@JoeyBob said:
Lately about 50% of my games are against farming killers, perhaps because the new DLC is near. I don't want to ######### farm, I want to play the ######### game, so I'm either stuck not playing the game for like 10 min as I try and rush gens and avoid the farming killer or I DC and still have to wait either way.
The DC penalty is trash.
as others said, do the gens, stay away from the farm take a depip and enjoy a few free points, get out of the gate asap and you're good. no need to dc from a "farming match" just don't participate. also reporting DOES take action I've had been sent mistaken emails by behavior before stating they took action. even though you don't see it, the best you can do is start recording the game while they are farming, then you report and fill out the ticket submitting that video as evidence. DC penalties are working as intended for cases of "FARMING" the only thing that should not be counted but nothing can be done with a basic detection watcher there is if the game crashes or the network connection is broken but to determine both of those there was to be communication and checking of network packets. won't happen.

Camping is discouraged mechanically. You lose points in the Chaser catagory for camping, if the survivors do gens (how you deal with a face camper), 3-4 gens can be finished before the person on hook dies.
Camping only works against overly altruistic survivors.
you do NOT loose points in the chaser category, you loose emblem progress when you are within 8 meters of the hook and not in a chase.

Bro ######### are you talking about?? I never once brought up the new consoles. I’m talking about consoles in general. I don’t even have either of the new consoles. And yes I talked about the government to give you another example because you obviously aren’t getting the other examples we were giving you. And obviously you still haven’t gotten them. But if OP is talking about how he is forced to use cross play to connect to other Xbox consoles then that’s on him, his original post comment made it sound like he is mad about cross play in general not that he has to use it to connect to other Xbox users
this thread is about the xbox series x and how it is considered a different platform than the previous xbox, the xbox one. I guess you lost that in all the switch backs the op had with what he was talking about. to sum up: OP got an xbox series x console, the new generation of consoles and is upset that he no longer has the xbox one pool of players when he selects to turn off crossplay and thus he feels he is being forced to use it because he expected the full amount of players in crossplay enabled match making to be available to his xbox series x console. this is not possible because it is but one platform supported by the game of dead by daylight and being new it only has a fraction of the players on the console.
I hope you understand now. this person thinks that because it has the name xbox in it that it is not a different platform. Thing is before the new gen consoles came out no one complained about the crossplay after the initial pc is crap, console is crap bs died down, and players realized that crossplay is better in the long run. suddenly with the advent of the new gen consoles, this person has an issue? color me surprised he or she can not remember if they only have an issue with the longer match making times or isn't getting any matches.

You’re just going on and on about the same thing and not even listening to a word anybody else is saying. I’ll explain it one last time and if you still don’t understand then I’m done. PC players have all the advantages, they don’t need to turn crossplay off. They have better aiming, graphics, load times, etc. they already have their own hackers and can’t gain more by turning crossplay on. Even if they turn it off they will still have their own hackers. So stop comparing PC to this because you obviously have no clue what you’re talking about. Secondly there are DIFFERENT KINDS of “FORCING” if the government controls you and they only give you 2 options to choose from. Option 1 is you pay $200 for a burger and that’s it and option 2 is you have to wait on a longggg line for a small amount of food where you might not even have a chance to get any of the food that day. It could be 2 days from now, is that forcing? Are they forcing you to pay $200? No, but that option will have a lot of downsides like making you go broke, etc. and the other is that you won’t be able to eat for a long time.
they forced it by making it automatically activated so people like myself wouldn’t care enough to turn it off.
there is 0 reason for you to turn off cross platform on PC and a dozen reasons for you to turn it off on console. If you really can’t comprehend that then.. idk..
I don't have a clue? you are now trying to bring examples of the governement in on this thread? 1) the xbox series x is a different platform than the xbox one. 2) there are less xbox series x users than the xbox one users. 3) "PC doesn't need to turn crossplay off???" well when cross play was implemented you saw posts here how crappy people thought it was to be "FORCED" to play against the crappy console players (which I know there are some GREAT console players) so they turned their crossplay off. what did it do? it increased the lobby times for them. this part of what i have said before was to show that turning crossplay off has the same end result. I did not compare times between them and what not.
if you have issues for the fact the series x is a different platform then take that up with microsoft who MADE it different. you might say windows 2000, xp, 7, 8, and windows 10 are all different platforms! for a game that ran on windows xp it needs a program called dosbox to run on windows 10. this is an endless argument because you don't know crap about pc's apparently since you think that pc's don't HAVE to turn it off... but what does that have to do with the price of tea in china? Microsoft made xbox series X a different platform with new coding and that makes the program called dead by daylight act differently since it requires different coding to work. it is you two who do not understand that you were buying a different platform or just blissfully ignored it. by your logic behavior is making people upgrade their systems and consoles to get the NEW graphics! guess what, you're not complaining about that because you are the ones benefiting from it.... so I guess I really don't know anything about this what so ever.

IT IS NOT.
If it were then I wouldn't be able to play with anyone on any game unless crossplay exists and I turn it on.
So far the only game where this is a thing is DBD. In games where crossplay doesn't even exist I can play with friends.
who said xbox series x is not a different platform than the xbox one? does it not have new equipment? does it not require old titles to be adapted to play on it? does it not require people to re-download the upgraded features for it's equipment? this is the very definition of a seperate platform. the OS of the series x is different from the os of the xbone. they are similar sure but they are not the same. if you want to know what it'd be like on the series x without crossplay enabled you're experiencing it. why? the console is not even a month old and you expect everyone that has it to be playing dbd? that's a laugh. the amount of players will be proportional to the amount on the xbone until the series x starts to really eclipse the xbone in number of users. please just stop. I'm not telling you to do anything what so ever, I'm just telling you how it is but you want your rose colored glasses thinking that everyone that you had on the xbone would immediately switch over and you'd have no issues but that isn't the case is it?

The difference is that PC has all the advantages over console. I honestly shouldn’t even need to be explaining that part to you.. and yes and no, it is the option they want to have, BUT it’s because the devs made him choose between the 2 options by forcing it
forcing it would be having crossplay on and not being able to turn it off. if the option exists to turn it off then it is NOT forced. pc has longer queue times just like the consoles.
If the game has 100,000 players playing at any one time over all platforms, and you turn off crossplay you will not have 100,000 players to match to.... that would be silly and mathematically impossible. here: steam: 50K, xbone 20K, ps4 20K, ps5 and series X 5K each so remove the other platforms you must have less than the total!

"you are not being punished for deciding to not play in cross play. however you must accept what happens when you take that option."
That's literally what a punishment is. I don't do the thing my experience gets WORSE than it would if the thing didn't exist.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1752209#Comment_1752209
No I'm talking about the general Xbox pool. Right now, if I turn off crossplay I can only play with other Series X players. In order to play with other Xbox players I have to turn it on. JUST to play on Xbox I have to have it on. But that's an issue specific to Series X, my complaint there is that the game shouldn't have even launched in this state and I shouldn't be forced into crossplay to play with Xbox players. This isn't a thing in any other game I play.
But besides the Series X, my other complaint is that the Xbox pool is gutted because players with crossplay on and crossplay off don't get matched together. If the feature didn't exist we would all be able to play together. If it existed as I suggest, where it still matches you to your own platform regardless of which option you choose and in fact prioritizes matching you on that platform and only uses crossplay to speed up the que times, then I wouldn't have an issue because I'm not being punished with longer than normal wait times by having it off.
1) it is not punishment, when you make a choice you have to accept the results of this choice. punishment is an intentional response to your choice. for instance you choose to disconnect during game play the system awards you a time penalty (punishment) where you can't play. but the thing is if you want to equate the two, then do so. Thing is a punishment is a directed action against you when you choose to do something against a rule. there is no rule saying you can not turn it off, but the end result because there are fewer xbox series x players is that you get longer wait times.
2) I have played matches with steam players when I matched them randomly and they had turned off their crossplay. so I can tell you that you are incorrect that it is only those that have disabled the feature.
3) the xbox series x is a seperate platform from the Xbone. just as the microsoft store is a separate platform from the steam store. this is a decision that microsoft made in how it treats the series x consoles.
4) just because you lept at the oppertunity to get a series x console doesn't mean others have to nor does it mean you will have the same player base you had on the xbone for many reasons.

In a way it is punishing console players that don’t want it. Before cross play came out you could find lobbies within a couple minutes on console. Then they came out with cross platform, and maybe some people just don’t want to play cross platform so they turn it off. But since it’s automatically activated most of the dbd players will just keep it on. So now 80% of the players are cross platform on console which means the person who doesn’t want to play cross platform was punished for no reason. And the main reason why these people still have cross platform on was because they didn’t care enough to turn it off. I think OP just wants it the other way around. If it was automatically turned off and had to be activated it would be a fair deal because that means a lot of people who just not activate it which means they have more players on their own system/platform, but if they do activate cross platform they also gain a lot of other platform from ALL platforms. So everybody gets what they want
this is the SAME as pc.... what is different? please? tell me? i turn it off and it takes forever for me to get a match too... yet I don't complain why? because i keep it on because i get more matches that way.... nothing different than console.it is a fallacy that if you turn it off, you only play against others that have it off and only others, that is not true. i've talked with people in the lobbies where it's all steam and i found some have it off yet i had crossplay on. funny that when i'm in crossplay i get put in matches with people that have crossplay off. this person just wants to whine that he can't play anymore because it takes too long. it's the option they want to take so they have to accept what will happen.

I never called you specifically anything though, so I never said anything about you. I'm talking from my GENERAL experience.
An optional feature means that I don't suffer a penalty for NOT using. When you literally punish someone for not taking an option you are invariably forcing them to use that option, and therefore it is no longer an option. In other words, crossplay is a MANDATORY feature not an OPTIONAL one by the way it's designed.
you are not being punished for deciding to not play in cross play. however you must accept what happens when you take that option. for instance you go to a restaurant and order a burger, their description says that it has onion on it and you hate onion (this is me here) since you asked for the burger but forgot to say "No onion" is the restaurant punishing you for not telling them to take the onion off (since that is an option you can do)? NO they are not punishing you, you made a decision and you have to deal with the consequences of said decision. if you want cross-play off you get longer wait times, that is the norm on ALL PLATFORMS with the option off. this is not a punishment it is the reality. You need to reconnect, and btw you did not say your general experience until now, your post says I don't want to play with pc and ps4 people as they are potatoes and cheaters. this is not you saying your experience it is saying that you don't want to play with the platforms because of that and that lumps all pc and ps users into this grouping. so get over yourself and make your choice, stand by it and wait for more xbox one people to get the money for their series x console and then it won't be so bad.

"I am a PC player, you called me a potato and a cheater"
I didn't actually. I was making a generalization. Furthermore that shouldn't nullify my points. Why I think a certain way doesn't change the fact I shouldn't be forced to play a way I don't want by an OPTIONAL feature.
The rest of your post says you didn't actually read or understand what my issue is. I'm not going to explain myself again. Go back and re-read what I was saying.
1) generalization means you equated ALL pc players that way. I did not make a generalization about you I made a direct comment on your attitude.
2) it is an OPTIONAL feature.... use it or don't use it. That is for you to decide. if you turn it off you will (and even I do) get longer wait time for matches. that is a consequence of turning cross-play off! do not tell me that I don't understand what so ever when you actually can't decide if you get no matches or long wait times. please which is it? if no matches at all well i doubt that. See if I turn cross play off I am only matched to people that are on the steam client, not even the microsoft store gets in with the option off! I can't even play with people on other pc's if they are through the microsoft store yet you don't hear people complaining?!

1) It's not an option. If I turn it off I'm punished with longer que times. That's literally forcing me to eventually move to crossplay because over time my pool will shrink more and more as people switch to crossplay on.
2) No it's BHVR forcing me because they made it so that you can't play with someone ON THE SAME PLATFORM that has a different crossplay setting.
3) You took it as an insult, which is why I don't want to say why I want it off. It doesn't matter to the conversation anyway, because I CANNOT turn it off on Series X and even if I could I'm punished for doing it with longer que times. You just wanna get mad and shame/bully me for my reasons to turn off crossplay, period end of story.
4) "crossplay only enables you to have access to more matchmaking options, it does not block you from playing with others what so ever." FALSE. If you play on Xbox with crossplay on and I play on Xbox with crossplay off we can't play together unless you literally invite me to your lobby. The matchmaking system puts us in different pools. It 1000% blocks me from playing with others.
5) Series X is not a different platform. It is Xbox. I bought an Xbox to play on Xbox. Imagine if they separated players on Steam by crossplay such that if you have a better computer you get put in a different pool. Also LOL at mentioning I should downgrade my Xbox to play with crossplay off. You can't be serious with that.
6) Broken in the first comment? LMAO because I don't want to tell you why I don't want it off that's a valid excuse to not let me turn it off. Yea makes total sense. LOL. Imagine telling someone they can only play how YOU want them to play then get all salty when they don't agree with you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1751683#Comment_1751683
No you wouldn't because YOU ARE ON THE SAME PLATFORM. No one wants crossplay to specifically play with people NOT on their platform, they do it for faster ques. Find me one MF'er out there that supports crossplay on PC that wants to play with nothing but PS4 players all day. I'll wait.
But yea it's fair to force me into crossplay with longer que times when off than to potentially force someone out of crossplay without actually affecting their que times.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1751742#Comment_1751742
It says XBOX on my console. Therefore I should be playing with XBOX players. They didn't do this when the X came out. Series X is not exactly next gen in the same way that Xbox One was next gen to Xbox 360. It's different. I'm on the same platform.
Also DBD is the only game where I have this problem. My other games run great and don't have issues like this. This is a problem with the GAME not my platform.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1751689#Comment_1751689
Yes that's exactly my point. I shouldn't be in a separate pool from other Xbox players if they have crossplay on. It's an optional feature, and therefore the game should prioritize matching people on the same platform and only use crossplay to fill in the gaps when necessary/available. Also so that you can play with friends on other platforms. It 100% should not be made in such a way that I'm being forced to use it if I want a reasonable que time. I'm literally punished for turning it off, why these other people can't see it and insist on wanting to know why I have crossplay off, which is irrelevant, is completely and utterly astounding to me.
And people wonder why this forum is so toxic. Thanks for at least understanding my point even if you disagree with it. No one else even gets what I'm saying.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1751807#Comment_1751807
It's not the killers that are the problem.
You are the one acting like a spoiled child. I am a PC player, you called me a potato and a cheater just because i play on pc doesn't mean i'm either, I don't want to play with an elitist so please turn crossplay off as I don't want to hear you whine. Now wanna talk about platforms? on the PC there are several platforms, but only two have dead by daylight. first is Steam, and players connect through the steam/valve connections, next you have the microsoft store and they are considered cross-platform because they go through the microsoft servers. (other pc platforms: Epic (hairball), GoG, Origin, direct pc (installed directly on pc not through a platform) and all of these are cross-play if they have dead by daylight). Xbox has 3 current active platforms: 360, one (all the series of the one) and now Xbox series X. these three are cross-platform to each other. Play station has the ps3, ps4 and ps5 I am pretty sure that the ps5 is considered cross platform to the ps4. but i have no hard data as no one from there has complained.
Now your point is that you get no games or it takes ages to get a match? well if xbox series x sold a million copies alread of the console i'd say there might be 1000-4000 people playing dbd at any one time, possibly more but they don't share stats like steam does! Behavior did not make it cross-play between the series x and the one, they made their software to recognize the differences between the various servers running them and that means microsoft has separated the consoles for some reason, it is not behavior's making though they MIGHT be able to fix that I don't know. You re-write your argument each time you say it, originally and many other times you complain about long wait times then in the same post to me you complain about not being able to play at all. The option for cross-play is on by default actually mirrors your cell phone. imagine that when you buy a cell phone they turn the cell connection off because they don't want people to be charged more because they make calls well these people get a cell phone and call it defective and so the cell phones are connecting to cellular signals by default to prevent this. cross-play is on by default to give people the best chances to get matches. You can turn it off so thus you have a choice, the consequences of that choice is for you to deal with, not behavior trying to stop you from doing anything.

If everyone who is complaining on this forum would stop supporting the game it would make a difference.
but apparently they all just wanna complain but like the game well enough to continue.
I agree, but they want to have their cake and eat it too. I will say this: Many of the bugs reported in game are not true bugs but network issues, latency and people's minds playing tricks on them. I have never once had the silent slug issue, I have had very few game crashes and all of those can be tied to windows having issues. many people try to modify their game but don't want to admit it, many will try to gain every edge possible on others by using third party programs and these programs are the ones that introduces true instability to the game. But they have to complain all the same. Are there bugs? am I just lucky? yea I am. but they haven't found the silent slug bug in how many months? this is probably the case with incorrect audio driver calls on systems that can barely run the game.

Sincerely, an Xbox Series X player.
Guess I'm still not playing until they fix this. Crossplay literally killed this game on Xbox. Can't match with other Xbox players if they have it on, it's on by default and 99% of the community is too lazy or too uninformed to turn it off.
👏👏 slow claps👏👏
Expect a really bad review of crossplay in your survey.
You seriously have a chip on your shoulder. Behavior is not forcing you to do anything. They have enabled you to do something. So here it is:
1) Crossplay is an option, you can toggle it on or off thus you have a CHOICE.
2) if more players wanted to turn it off then it is not behavior forcing anyone of you to do anything players are not behavior.
3) you are insulting enough to say that if you enable crossplay you only get potatoes and cheaters is insulting to everyone that plays that isn't a cheaters and calling someone a potato just because you think you're gods gift to players I don't care if you are or aren't. I've seen damn good players on pc, ps and xbox.
4) crossplay only enables you to have access to more matchmaking options, it does not block you from playing with others what so ever. How ever if you have it off it will stop you from joining a lobby with anyone that is considered cross play.
5) if the X box series X is considered a different platform than the xbox1 then you have a choice, go back to xbox one or turn on crossplay or even keep it off and deal with the length of matches. just because you got an xbox series x doesnt make anyone else get one, hell i didn't get a ps5 and wouldn't have been able to even if I DID try as I was not in a place to order when the places started selling them EARLY! gotta love retail over selling, price gouging (not seen this time), and playing favorites.
6) your argument was broken in my first comment and then it was shattered in comments 2 and 3. refute them if you wish but I am glad you are one that is a xbox elitist because that means I'll never face you. YEA this is a win for me and everyone else because you won't turn cross play on. You must be a barrel of laughs at parties, and also if the x box series x is a different platform you will have talk to microsoft about making it such a different console that it reads as a different platform! oh wait it's a NEW unit, different specs, new commands it was going to be this way from the begining when the console was first talked about! use common sense.

3 matches in a row, I've gotten red and/or purple ranked Survivors, matched with Survivors near my rank. Each time, the wait times were short, so it's not the "not enough Survivors in your area" argument. I can't progress any further, and even though I'm getting over 15k blood points each time, it's never fun.
I don't think these people deserve their blood points OR their rank, if this is how they play. It's absolutely pathetic.

the idea of you wait too long it opens up what ranks you are matched with is not JUST the killer, but it is ALSO survivor. so if the survivor doesn't get a lobby in a certain time it does the same thing. So yes you can get a high rank as a solo in a lower rank killer match

Latency is not easy to fix. VPN players introduce latency that people can't understand so they all blame behavior and say they can't fix the game just as you do. what's funny.... they can only make your 40ms equal to the highest known latency so if they have 200ms, they can increase yours to 200ms artifically but there is NO way to reduce 200ms latency to 40ms latency. it's just impossible. now if it's program latency not network latency (which is what you call "PING") then that can be fixed. so learn a bit before you complain since it's not program latency they can only make your experience worse unless you're the highest latency in that match in which case you're good.

I've said from the beginning, match imprisonment for a casual asymmetrical game is no good. Instead of a dc punishment, they need to add incentives to remain in a horrible unwinnable match.
so you want to be able to dc at any time for what ever reason you have? sure these types of matches happen what do you do? YOU REPORT THE PERSON. and let the devs deal with it. if you're done with the match just stop doing things and get yourself out of the match in a way that is not a disconnect. How can the game determine that the match is horribly unwinnable match? I have had a few where the killer was screwing around and kept downing us but what he didn't know is that we kept pushing gens. got them done with distractions and 4 people escaped because the killer wasn't paying attention. because they didn't hook anyone they got crap for points too. to top it off he cried that we cheated some how but nope just worked with each other and did what we needed to do.

if you're getting 5 hour penalties apparently there is an issue and you might want to think about going to another game if you want to dc that much. i have had a total of 5 dc penalties since the inception, two were for intentionally disconnecting, 2 were for a computer fault that had nothing to do with dbd and the third was a corrupted file that was later re-downloaded via steam. that's since the whole disconnect penalty idea was actually implemented. I have had no more than 10 minutes by my own hand or my computer/network issues.

Impressive coding knowledge. I have a few questions though, from a console pov. I believe the devs have stated they cannot differentiate between a button dc and one causes by network failure, etc. Could that be true, at least for Xbox1?
Ever since the patch after Blight came out (Blight's actual patch caused the dreaded inst-overheat for a week for all Xbox1x's like mine) all Xbox players have had increased ping and dc's from connection issues.
Two broad types occur: one is dc'ing as the game loads; offering screen is seen, all are seen on the map but one cannot move while the other survs can move and begin to interact, all for about 20sec, then all are shown the tally screen and told the match was stopped because a player left while loading in. Very common for all this to happen every 3-5 matches.
The other type is as killer or survivor, and less common: player is last seen running straight into a wall or such, then gone. Obviously a killer getting this ends the game, but a surv getting this is shown as a dc and the rest continue. They are now shown a game error message stating "this game requires an Internet connection" message. I have gotten this while streaming or not, and in a chat party or not, and neither are interrupted at all, so my connection isn't cut.
In either case the dc'ing player gets the penalty every time. How could both of these occur? How could the devs tell them appart from a button dc?
As far as "spagetti coding" I have heard the term but do not understand it. Some of the Fog Whisperers use it maybe it came from there. Also PS4 players here claim connection issues such as these are caused by "memory leak" but again I'm ignorant of what that is too.
Restarting my Xbox every few matches baindaids these both for a while. Thoughts?
First of all, in any game there is a function to press a button, the game coding MUST be able to know what it is doing, for instance the button to cause you to search for a match when pressed causes the program to connect to a certain place and that then adds you into the queue to be matched to others playing. the leave match button must have a function even on a console in order for it to remove you from the game. think of it as an elevator button. there is the one switch that stops the elevator dead in it's tracks. Currently there is no coding added to alert them, but this CAN be done and without "Spaghetti Code" issues. I am speaking specifically from a programming point of view and not a console point of view. I do not know the specifics, but you can make it do anything you want to if you write the code properly. I am by no means an "expert" programmer, but I know enough to know how things work generally in every program including windows 10, xbox consoles PS4, and other computing devices but ask me to code a program it would take me ages I'll be honest about that as I am an engineer not computer science programmer.
Spaghetti Code is a term that is used to talk about coding that is done very badly. Think of the program as a flow chart, you have it start and then it goes to one function but then it jumps to the 4th page of programming, then back to the 2nd page of programming as everything is written as it is thought of. The flow chart litterally looks like spaghetti with the code criss-crossing itself many times and then you add something new and suddenly the game / program isn't working and it's a pain in the arse to locate where in the code the issue is even when you've discovered what actually causes it. I hope that does help your understanding better :).
you ask about two different types of disconnects which both of them seem to be network disconnects as you describe them, and I have SEEN both of these happen and I acknowledge that they do occur on pc, xbox, ps4, and any client. for this game to work you are at your home and you connect to your modem and or router (sometimes the same things sometimes different). this is then relayed through several network connections from your house to the trunkline (where the whole neighborhood conencts) to the ISP network center. then your signal is relayed out and another router gets your signal and sends it on its way to the destination server (DBD) and anywhere in this web (one reason it's called the World Wide Web) a router could have an issue communicating or the signal got degraded and the router just drops the signal. in the first case, it's seen and the game stops and lets everyone look for more to try and limit 3 v 1 matches which we all do not like much anyways. the second one you mention, this happens in the middle of the player trying to do something (running somewhere) so the server keeps the movement going for a bit till it finally determines the signal got dropped and removes the character and applies the disconnect emblem for that player.
There can be many reasons and most are out of the player's control here and I agree it's bad to give them a penalty but in order to find this out there would have to be a really robust detection scheme that looks at the network packets to determine what happened and this is VERY hard to do without a human actually looking at the packets just before and right after. BTW if you want to know about how many routers are between your signal and another location, any website or server, you can open a windows command prompt (dos prompt) type tracert (website with out the () ) and each line is a router in the network path. :)

@jaysime you are wrong it WAS the feng that dc'd. unless you were in that match with me just because others have feng's perks doesn't mean that they are the one playing feng. I am not denying the bug exists but in this case it was the feng that dc'd after i'd been carrying her. it still took a moment to register the dc and my character was starting to walk faster after picking her up. I also accept that the dc functions this way, and it's a good thing over all that I will not argue against but stop telling me who it was that dc'd unless you were in the match.
-
she was active, running from me, gettting shocked jumping windows, and finally downed after TWO hits, she wasn't (I say she because it was a feng) just stnading there and dc.

I have been trying to get the "Fight Back" challenge for legitimately over 10 matches now but whatever I do, it seems that as long as I have the challenge equipped, all the killers I play against respect pallets. How is anything a challenge if it doesn't rely on your skill but instead relies on the opposing player walking into the pallet that you're going to drop?
so you equip other things that help and yes sometimes you don't get the pallet hits.... oh well, it happens. what this does is gives you more rift shards by the time you complete the challenge.

the term a minimum of 6 months means it might not get there at 6 months, or 1 year or 5 years... but they can put it in there... it's upto them. I don't see the battle pass as predatory, i've spent 10 bucks on it and gotten 5 times the auric cells back so far so each pass i've spent 2 bucks on. not a bad deal if I say so myself.
What I would like to know is how goes the work on a charms section in the store? I know that take more work because it requires a new bit of coding in the game. I'm not upset i'm just curious as to what is going on. I am on the dev's side here.... working from home is no joke. it's depressing when you don't get a chance to decompress from work becuase you live where you work. so please my question here is really to hope to steer the conversation away from people yelling. and those of you that scoff at the explanation that covid/sars-cov2 is part of the problem you obviously have no clue as to what goes into making a game. square enix, bioware, bethesda, and many many many other major game companies have had to delay and everything. Also as I stated at the beginning of this post there was never a concrete date, just a minimum time and you are all whining because you WANT something, you WANT something.... not that you CARE a damn bit about the game. If you cared you'd not be screaming about something that they are still within their stated time frame.

There's literally no incentive for anyone that's not a content creator to play the PTB. There's no rewards for it. There's not many games out there that doesn't let people playing an experimental branch keep what they unlock.. and of course DbD is one of those.
The fact that BHVR suffer from a lot of "not actually using player feedback provided by players during PTB" issues, that also deters players from playing the PTB. Cannot be a fun experiences for people to spend their time to provide feedback to BHVR only to see them throw that ######### in the trash bin. They do it all the time unless there's a massive backlash.
I'm not saying there is or anything like that, I'm making the comment that when the PTB comes out not many go to them and thus many of these so called bugs that make it into the release are not caught. You also have to seperate "FEEDBACK" from "BUG REPORTING" The difference is you and I will have differing ideas about the disconnect penalties, how DS should be changed (if at all), what is happening to various things. and so your feed back on their perk changes and mine will be different. now if you find that there is a bug where if you crouch in a bush you will get stuck I will probably get the same thing if I am in the same place (usually).
So when you say "not actually using player feedback provided during PTB" is incorrect. many times a few hundred people will say perk change A is great! and then another few hundred will say perk change A is crap and needs to be redone. What do you do at that point? when people's opinions on how things are working are not the same the company has to make a decision so using the information of what THEY WANTED plus these opinions they may do nothing or change something. Either way people will be upset at them. it's a LOOSE LOOSE in this case. HOWEVER if someone reports a bug where the challenge to get 20K points in deviousness is not registering properly, they can check into that directly and find the error and fix it.
What many here don't understand is they know less than 1/2 of what the devs know about the intent behind a change is. What they will know is what the feature/item does in game and then the stated goal of what it is supposed to do. HOWEVER there are other things that went into why that feature/item is and most of us only guess at this and this is where people make wild speculations which are usually wrong. Take DS for example, it was not designed as an anti-tunneling perk but the community sees it as that. Who's right? the players or the people that made the perk?

I tried this and it made no difference. The only thing I've found that works is just... Walking away from my PC and letting it do it's own thing for 8+ hours until the bar below the play button fills.
it could be windows. though as it was said it should affect other programs but it CAN be affecting just one. I'd suggest that you update windows. if that doesn't work I'd recommend a full back up and reinstall of windows, then steam, then dbd. see if that happens (before you install anything beyond windows, your internet security and then steam and dbd)

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1710501#Comment_1710501
Everything here I've already tried and it made no difference.
do you check your installation of dbd? do you use a 3rd party program to change your icons? oh wait... no you won't admit to that here on the official forums because that's against the EULA. what logs do you check? what do you do? honestly I'm a pc tech and worked in the retail market where people bring their pc's in to be fixed. just a few years ago I had a computer come in, saying their pc is running slow. I turn it on and am presented with a windows 8 installation modifier, made things look like windows 7 again, look it up and see that it is reported by EVERY single internet security program company as having malware and spyware. then there was so many other programs starting up taking up memory and the system basically had 1 gig of ram remaining before the user could even do that. so far it wasn't bad just a slow start up, then open up their browser (they said that's where the real slow down is) and then blamo 15 tabs opened! I call the client and ask them about this and they said oh yea every tab was needed, every program was needed because their best friend who's worked with computers for the last few years said they needed it all.
I explained what was needed to be done and when they got their computer back they were amazed. I had removed all the extra programs and the computer worked fine. those 15 tabs were book marked and I explained more about how the tabs did not need to be open all the time unless they wanted them open. they took it home, brought it back 6 hours later and said it was messing up again. they had put a flash drive to re-install all the programs that were malware back on and this time it wouldn't start back up. they spent a total of 400 bucks just because they installed programs that were known to be viruses even after being warned not not. can you believe it? i'm sure you think it didn't happen well that's your choice but many times people say they know computers when they know just how to operate them and not how it actually works.

Bugs happen, definitely, but BHVR is consistently introducing new bugs with every update and even making old ones reemerge. Consistently! Every update! How can the PTB work fine but pushing it to Live break so much? They broke an entire console by giving PS4 single digit FPS. How can they keep screwing things up this bad, over and over again? How is that possible!?
Its laziness and incompetence. BHVR don't want their game to work well. They just want it to work "good enough" for people to want buying macrotransactions.
simple they don't get enough people using the PTB. I know 10 people my self that used to ALWAYS go to the PTB to check things out and try out different things on specific maps. NOW? they don't even bother to download the PTB what so ever! This is why things make it out of the PTB... they admit the PTB when it is active does not have enough of a player base to even do any kind of true match making. the few times that I have seen people talk about it is the wait can be untollerable and the "RANK" mismatch REAL! why? because the game on the PTB just throws 5 people together! If they had the PTB up for longer and actually fixed things reported and kept working on the PTB then yea the things that do make it out would be less but they look to the PTB as large scale testing which looks for LARGE issues, not minute issues.

Is that silly story supposed to be convincing? Bugs happen, yes. But the reason you had to dig back to the early 2000s for an early-era MMO is because this level of incompetency is rarely seen outside of truly bungled titles. Usually bugs, especially critical ones, are fixed in a day or so. Less critical ones might take a week for a hotfix, and annoying-but-minor bugs usually can wait until the next patch.
DBD on the other hand, has broken audio EVERY SINGLE PATCH. Killers have not been able to reliably find survivors based on audio for years now. Sometimes the audio works, sometimes it doesn't. You might make footstep noises, or you might be completely silent, making less noise than if you had Iron Will, without running Iron Will.
Audio is HUGE in DBD, and the fact that it is so unreliable is just one of the many game-ruining bugs that plague this unholy abomination of a game. Bugs happen, but the same bugs happening over and over and over every update is completely unacceptable and no one with half a brain should ever make an excuse for that. If we only got something like the t-pose bug with killers spawning in, that's entertaining and doesn't hurt the game. It's silly, but not a big deal at all. My killer power just straight up not working for the rest of the match for no reason, is not okay, but it STILL HAPPENS. You get it with Blight and Oni, and I'm sure others, although those are the two I have experience with. I'd say Nurse but Nurse is eternally bugged.
God it gives me a headache just thinking about it.
well in my experience i have no experienced many mof the audio bugs in dbd unless there was a problem with the installation on my end! I have experienced an audio driver crash that at first seemed like dbd breaking but it was actually my system. I've experineced dbd truly messing up but it also turns out that I needed to re-install dbd because steam installed something incorrectly. I have experienced bugs yes but many that people say exist i have not. so please tell, oh all knowing one, why is it that I can attribute 90% of bugs I've encountered to my local computer having issues else where? You can't can you? I'll tell you why, because you see what you think is a bug and you STOP looking right there. I on the other hand look at the bug and look into my computer logs and look to see what's going on. The reason I went back to an early MMO is because that is one of the biggest game breaking moments that I ever had that was not an issue on my computer what so ever. Keep blaming them for these "GAME BREAKING BUGS" but I tell you a good bit of it is on your end where something is messed up instead, but most people say "OH I have issues but it's not a virus, it's windows!" this ends up being a virus. Many things I see here are attributed to behavior incorrectly.

Seriously, I don't give a damn about the disconnect penalty when a match is straight up UN FAIR.
Devs, see how survivors can be the sweatiest little tryhards in existance, see how camping and tunneling is boring and unfun, see how ONE objective for survivors has gotten boring and tedious. You say you want the game to be enjoyable when time and time again you have done the complete opposite, allowing patches to come out broken to the point where half of your community can't even play the game optimally.
I'm sure I speak for most of the community when I say this, we don't want better graphics, that isn't our top priority, we want a game that WORKS, is FUNCTIONAL, and FUN.
What's the point of the ptb if there is STILL problems upon release of an update?
I can only see this game dying sooner rather then later if something isn't done.
Speaking of PTB and bugs on release: Everquest released a patch back in early 2000's time frame after 2 months on their test server and when it went live, immediately it was found there were sever game breaking bugs causing them to take the game offline for a day or so and fix the issue. it was a crap show sony did then and you know what? Everquest started in 1999 and is STILL around today! BUGS happen, even when tested a great deal. some things get through.

many F2P games are backed by a company's other main engine game. for instance: ESO, backed by all the people that are paying for stuff in skyrim, and other elder scroll games. Fallout also is increasing their revenu, (not fallout 76) so ESO can stay free to play. Fortnite is bank rolled by epic games no other reason than that.

- You get a farming killer and just wanna dc and find another match.
- the servers or the killer have a high ping and you just wanna dc because this game will be unfun
- you dont like to farm but you also wanna give 2 people the escape because of reasons so you dc
- there is a gamebreaking bug like the hill glitch a month ago
- someone brings a map offering for their advantage to make the game as boring as possible
DC penalties are good sure but sometimes there is a reason for it. when you dc all the time yeah getting a penalty is deserved. even otz disconnects when he gets some cute survivors to give them both a escape instead of farming. at the end the game is a casual game and very far away being a competetive game.
i really hope dbd will get some AI as replacement for DC's like in the mobile version.
to address each of your points:
1) a Farming killer, just want to leave? This is a selfish reason and not one that says this should allow a dc. If they want to farm, you run away from the pack, if you are not permitted to leave, you then report them in the end game (farming is permitted as long as no one is prevented from not farming).
2) high ping? you'd best pay attention during the killer lobby, you can see the ping, leave right then no issue. if you DC again you are being selfish and this is not a reason to dc.
3) again, you are the one being selfish here, you can still go and do gens and get them out the real way. if they want to farm and you dont, again you should just walk away. dcing to give someone or two people an escape is exploiting the disconnect functionality.
4) Game breaking bug: this IS the reason it exists, by all means do so.
5) Map you don't like: You again are being selfish. If you don't like the map, then do gens, get out and you're done. this is ALSO not a reason to disconnect.
This post shows exactly why we need the penalties. within 1-1.5 years the rate of disconnects skyrocketed. if people like you didn't use these reasons to use the functionality that was to help prevent run on games we would not have to have these penalties. It's selfish to dc just because you don't like a map. I just was in a match with a legion that kept just deep wounding us, and not hooking. I didn't dc even though it took 20 minutes, but 1) I got points, 2) I reported the legion for taking the game hostage. Before you get up and say but that's what he does. not when he has 3 people on the ground and picks one up and walks past several hooks and does this many times through out the match. This is called taking the game hostage. IF I had disconnected I'd also be guilty of breaking the rules not the best way to report something. DC penalties are necessary exactly for your numbers: 1, 2, 3 and 5.

The amount of monetization in dbd is so high it reminds me of a free to play game, expensive 10-15 dollar skins, battle passes and extreme grind make me sad, especially when they are in a paid game.
Do you think dbd would do better as a free to play or would it do worse? I personally think it wouldn't do so hot but who knows.
it's on par with any multiplayer game. look at SWTOR, look at FFXIV, look at Everquest/Everquest 2, these are all games that have a FTP component (except FFXIV) and have a pay to play 15 bucks a month or so. These games offer skins, to mounts, to some boosts to performance in game as well as rapid leveling (get to max or close to max level). There is no denying it is also in line with the other MOBAs or other battle royal games many of which are free to play but you can buy into them.
DBD as a free to play game would be worse. so many would come in and it'd become a crap show. it would be best kept as is, purchase base and dlc's for what you want.

First the comments about no more exclusives had come before releasing the event and code cosmetics to everybody in fact it was even before the death garden masks.
So yes they did in fact they say they wanted to stop exclusives in fact the point came up when somebody asked if consoles were going to get an exclusive character like PC had bill.
In fact the statement of not wanting to do exclusives was given again when they gave the event cosmetics away.
Well yes the third-party abuses was a reason they wanted to help with the code abuse but that was not the reason only reason they offered it to everybody
Secondly they have stated no intention of giving the limited DwightCrow cosmetic out again so no it is an exclusive.
Your false equivalency to the Rift doesn't work Rift items were stated from the beginning even before the Rift fully came out to be coming to the store after a while once the specific Rift closed.
DwightCrow had no such statement so yes it is an exclusive.
Nobody wants anything to be handed to them for free or without any effort in fact the community has never had a problem with time-limited exclusives that were earnable by everybody for example the pro-pain hammer.
It was limited to the specific event but anybody who was playing turn it and have a fair chance. A PC player didn't have a massive advantage of getting it over a console player and vice versa.
This charm however is extremely in balanced and console players are at a disadvantage. It's not earnable in a fun and unique way in fact for you to increase your chances of getting it you usually have to just not play the game and sit in the store screen waiting.
Fog whisperers are having to go up above and beyond to try to get the code out in the fairest way possible and even with that console players are still at a disadvantage.
Going around making statements like people don't want to put a modicum of effort into it is completely misreading the situation.
"First the comments about no more exclusives had come before releasing the event and code cosmetics to everybody in fact it was even before the death garden masks."
Your reading comprehension sucks here was my quote about death garden masks "now I had forgotten about death garden mask" which did not say it was not an exclusive.... i had totally forgotten there WAS a damn mask. so READ don't see one or two words and think you know what was intended.
"Secondly they have stated no intention of giving the limited DwightCrow cosmetic out again so no it is an exclusive." PROOF PLEASE,lack of proof is not proof of your assertion.
"Nobody wants anything to be handed to them for free or without any effort in fact the community has never had a problem with time-limited exclusives that were earnable by everybody for example the pro-pain hammer." Actually when they pulled the "we are giving these to everyone" there WAS backlash about it, because those pushed to get those out during the event. Guess you didn't want to go that far back in time on forums to see that.
"This charm however is extremely in balanced and console players are at a disadvantage. It's not earnable in a fun and unique way in fact for you to increase your chances of getting it you usually have to just not play the game and sit in the store screen waiting." 1) they are, 2) there have been codes that were found in easter eggs that put people like me at a disadvantage because i don't always read the forums or twitter etc, yet I do not complain.
"Fog whisperers are having to go up above and beyond to try to get the code out in the fairest way possible and even with that console players are still at a disadvantage." I'm so sorry that people tried to help and people still complained even about them! but you know what? in the stream I was in I saw many console people getting their dwightcrows! maybe the streamer didn't do it right for them I don't know I only have the experience of one. this does not equate to exclusivity, it is known that consoles are not equal to pcs yet people play on it and want to every few years shell out 400-800 bucks for a new console and all the games that they used to play once again at full price when a PC does not have to always be updated every few years and still plays the games that were on it before.
"Going around making statements like people don't want to put a modicum of effort into it is completely misreading the situation. " Statements people have made in posts "I don't want to enter these numbers! JUST give it to us when we log in!" and many more like it, I guess if the post doesn't fit your narrative you don't continue to read.
Don't worry I won't disprove you again because i don't want to deal with the headache.

I am trying to understand your logic, I won't lie its a mess to navigate through. Getting through this stoned makes it all the more challenging.
If you want to argue in defense of a game then EA is the very last example you'd like to use, but that'd be the one thing we agree on. Behavior is heading in the same direction as EA but without the safety blanket. A novel and a live service video are two different forms of media. When I sell a novel to the public then have toys license for it, I am not having the book have a few pages missing while I sell my customers chapters then annoy them half to damn death while they try to enjoy it in peace. That comparison doesn't add up. And this post wasn't just about DBD being free, did you even bother to read the rest of it?
I'm not trying to be a douchebag, but I am confused. 🤔
ok i was not talking in DEFENSE of a company or game, I was correcting your assertion that they are using something that MOBILE games came up with. in fact it was a model that was started by EA back in the mid 90's. this is in discussion of the battle pass.
NOW YOU made the assertion that Dead by Daylight should be free. and I said no it shouldn't. they sold DBD as it was made without anything to hold back at that point, and thus it should still cost. the DLC's are actually EXPANSIONS to the game. Game expansions were in existence before the mid-90's by adding content to their game, companies like activision were able to charge more and for example the original MECHWARRIOR 2, it came out with Clan Wolf and Clan Jade Falcon full missions and everything. Then later they came out with the expansion Clan Ghost Bear. IT only worked if you had the base game which by the way was about 40-60 bucks back in the 80's, and the expansion was the same price! yet no one cried about it.
the only thing in the battle pass are things that do not enhance the game play what so ever only change how things look. This is not a DLC, nor did they call these EXCLUSIVES.... they said that it would be exclusive to those that earned it as well as across ALL platforms for a minimum of 6 months before people could purchase them. in contrast the items like Golden Feng or others given out years before they were exclusive to steam and could not be purchased through OFFICIAL SOURCES (not third parties). So the EXCLUSIVITY of the rift, or even these codes for the one charm is exactly NOTHING. To call the rift exclusives you would have to call all the outfits in the STORE EXCLUSIVE as well. why? because if you don't buy them then you can't have them. Lets also leave out the legacy skins, however you did bring up the death garden face mask which i have not had time to think about it as I was busy doing more.
gotta love when people decide they are still able to understand everything when they are in an altered state of consciousness I'd suggest not trying to understand anything when high as you will never understand things properly.

It's not a matter of effort.
If a company makes a stand about no more exclusives then does more exclusives (deathgarden masks) it leaves a bad taste in people's mouths
Then later down the line the reinforce their past statement by giving the code cosmetic to everyone ( also stop the third party scammers in their tracks) as well as the event cosmetics. regardless of your position on that action it proved that they were keeping up with statement as they were now making sure people were included.
Now we have another exclusive being distributed where two quarters of the community are already at a disadvantage because console typing and despite addressing concerns about this statement haven't really been made.
Whether you consider it whining or not is irrelevant. People have the right to be irritated and annoyed at this they went back on their statement twice despite the fact they showed that they were willing to be committed to it.
Even now things like the death garden masks are still exclusives.
I'm fine if they want to do exclusives but if that's the case they need to stop saying they're done done with it
If they are truly done with exclusives then they can't just pick and choose. Just like you did with the event cosmetics and the code cosmetics things like the death garden stuff and Dwight charm shouldn't be locked behind exclusives..
again if you consider the dwight killer charm an exclusive then the rift is an exclusive. even though they are planning to make rift items available. the difference in all of this is the FACT that people know how long they will have to wait to buy it well a minimum time. this is not true exclusivity when the intent is to put it out later. (differing from previous code exclusives, they did not intend to do that at all and worked to get it fixed up) now I had forgotten about death garden mask as well as the payday masks.... can't get them for various reasons. now that you'd have to ask the devs about directly. also i never said people should or should not be irritated what I was saying was people should stop calling things exclusives when they are not exclusives in that the intent is to bring them to the market. also the devs never said they wanted to stop exclusives they just wanted to remove unlimited time exclusives (golden feng, etc) with exception of a few things like Legacy skins which are not available any more and can't be gotten.

And this disputes my point, how? Dead by Daylight should be a free game if it has these mechanics, it's borrowing from the business model most mobile phone games have. The very purpose of these models is for you to part with your hard earned cash once you have tired of the grind, it's a manipulation tactic. I fail to see how your willingness to be a whale makes it any less worse.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1707244#Comment_1707244
Doesn't change the fact that these purchases send the wrong message to Behavior who like many companies are beholden to their investors than their customers. I find this move to be strange because a lot of these gaming companies are being taken to task. Behavior is no different in this regard.
Actually it is not borrowing from the mobile model, it's borrowing from EA who was decidely the first to push micro transactions in their games. and that's what behavior is doing, and their games are still at cost depending on age. but the battle pass itself first came out in moba style games like smite and league. then it went to COD and other games including mobile. but also the micro-transactions for the cosmetics are modeled after mmo's. most of the games include performance boosters in their battle pass but dbd did not do that here it is ALL COSMETICS. and if you think DBD should be "FREE" tell me, would you give away a book you wrote because you shouldn't charge for the book as you'll get a line of toys with it? come on, there are a great deal more to this than free games. it is actually proven that most games that are "FREE" are supported by other titles, for instance look at ESO, one of the few mmo's that doesn't support itself totally and then fall out 76, which is a huge flop for the mmo market for many reasons. and they are STILL trying to make their money back on 76 but that's hard when people won't pay for much.

I won't disagree with you, but you also have not taken into account the streamers have tried to take into account ALL of these aspects and some have acknowledged that. for instance TVC put the code up with the last THREE letters covered up for a short while, giving people time to type the code in, she also used a font she believes (and I won't discount the claim) that is one of the best to fight dislexia, and then gives people ample warning the code will be revealed and then does so people only have to rush to type in 3 characters and hit enter. not as hard as typing the whole code in one shot. plus you can't just copy and paste it as it's in an image overlay in her stream not in her chat so it doesn't disapear in the spam of the chat. even with all this I still got my code after a few shots of missing it while I was running a duty in final fantasy 14! so it's possible and even with other things happening i was able to get one which was lucky I know but still not unobtainable. thing is how would you stop people from entering in for a second lottery to get another code, since only 10 people have the code what's from stopping people from selling that since only 9 others got the code and it's guarenteed to be available till behavior deactivates it. there are a great deal of problems that come with each and every aspect which i do not deny.

You know I paid 10 bucks once for 1000 auric cells to buy the premium rift pass once i got to tier 70 and then got those 1000 back. then rift pass 2 comes out i use those 1000 to get the premium again and get 1000 back. do it again for rift 3 and again get them back, do it again for rift 4 and get them back. just before rift 5 i was given 1000 auric cells by the company (I had NOT asked for anything) so for 10 bucks i've gotten $50 worth of auric cells that is one way to look at it. another way to look at it is that i've paid 2 dollars for 4 rift passes and when I complete rift 5 i'll be at even less. (normally after rift 4 i'd be at $2.50 per rift) it is just getting to be a better re-occuring investment since i get to the end of the rift without any problem at all with a bit of effort through out to do the tome challenges so i get all the extra fragments!
I chose to pay 10 bucks in at the begining and that is ALL I have EVER paid for the rift itself. this is not a battle pass that gives you special weapons to use against the killer and get out of the match because of these "weapons" it's a I want to look good. you don't have to buy any one rift and while you play you still get a few things. so it's 100% voluntary, this argument is old and stale because people actually do like doing the challenges. i just did the stun the killer 4 times, got one pallet stun, and 3 head on's while doing what I could to rescue, heal and complete gens to get people out. I didn't get out but the other guy did so that's all that mattered. it was fun to challenge myself to get better at doing somethings in the game i'm not totally used to what is wrong with earning a few or more cosmetics just because i play the game?

the codes are limited for each one to 10, the fog whisperers have a butt-ton of them to give out. they are not sellable because when they display them people don't grab it and hold on to it they enter it... these are as exclusive as the rift cosmetics and charms are. they have said they will release them atleast 6 months or more after in the store. These are not exclusives like golden feng that was grabbed up by people at a convention and held on to because they had unique codes and then sold for real life money. that was a true exclusive at the time that made people money. I'm sorry you don't like it but how else are you to do it? I don't see any solid ideas on how to do it.
Give you a hint: they've handed them out at conventions, people complain. they've hidden them as easter eggs and people complained (web page easter eggs) then they hand them out on the forums and people complain. now they put it to where people are most likely to be (there are more people that watch dbd than play it so they give it to the fog whisperers to distribute to their communities (same item not special to the streamer) and as always people complain. I mean what do you want? something free for no work on your part? wow.... you got that... all those exclusives that ps4/xbox never had as they were steam codes? they are everyone's that logs in at all! come on put forth a modicum of effort.

This happened to me as well and on tile 144 as well. the back corner of that same building on the same side that you got stuck!

this is as intended, to prevent 1, 2 and 3 man matches because of a network dc.

you realize the survivor equvalent of getting 20k objective is bugged in the same way, right?
Yes I realize it but unlike survivors, KILLERS HAVE to go through it, survivors can bypass it till it is done. sure i could do survivor challenges too but some killers don't like doing that and for them to be forced to slog through. bad, bad, BAD!
