Show me any other game besides DBD where I need crossplay enabled on Xbox Series X to play with people on Xbox One. Go ahead I'll wait.
Not even the new COD requires crossplay to play with people ON THE SAME PLATFORM.
The devs didn't "work with what they got" this is literally the only game where this is an issue. Xbox One and Xbox Series X are THE SAME PLATFORM. If they weren't at least ONE ######### game besides DBD would require crossplay. Not a single one does.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1783132#Comment_1783132
Yes exactly. No other games works this way. I can play with my friends on literally EVERY other game without needing to turn on crossplay.
BHVR ######### up no other way to put it. They were/are entirely capable of allowing Xbox One and Xbox Series X to play together without crossplay (and ps4/ps5) but they don't for some reason. That reason being they want to eventually force everyone into crossplay. That's why they refuse to match you with players on your own platform if they have a different crossplay option enabled. Again NO OTHER GAME DOES THIS. You enable crossplay you are not completely separated from your own kind. You get matched with anyone, and the game just won't put crossplay players in the same lobby. They don't split the playerbase for the sake of an optional feature.
i have no clue on any games that are on an xbox one or series x. I don't own them. I am talking specifically about the way they are constructed. so just stop trying to trip me up, I even stated i am talking about the operating system, the hardware interaction requirements and everything this does make the client a different client. That is the EASIEST way to discern the different platforms, if the client does not respond as any other it's crossplay. and name a small company that is doing what you want it to do without prior setup? I will tell you right now you will not get that. enjoy your hatred, and if you hate this that much because of it ask microsoft for a refund and STOP playing. otherwise deal with it till more people adopt the series x or ps5 and go from there! I have given you reasons that it might be done this way and you have ignored them and kept hounding about how they should have done it differently. I will tell you EXACTLY what I tell others that say the company should do it differently: GET A JOB there and make that decision, show them how easy it is and you'll have job security but no you won't do that because you don't want to get a job with them because you don't have the skills to actually code the relevant features. (this last is a guess as to why you won't get a job with them. hell I'd like to work with them because i'd love to get that experience and know more of what I'm talking about. till you know exactly what is required to place this game where you yourself want it to be AND have the power to do so you are talking out your ass and need to check your attitude at the door.
I was polite, I was accepting and talked about how things seem to be with my knowledge on how platforms are determined and your only defense is dismissive and condesending so I decided to be that right back at you! enjoy your ignorance

Lately I've been going against a few killers who get really offended if even a gen gets done, calling it "genrushing".
If you are chasing a survivor for long enough and a gen gets done, how is it genrushing? To survive, the only thing survivors need to do is open the gates and leave, which only get powered if you do gens.
Should we start just going up to you a give you a free down? Maybe suicide on hook so you get a free kill? I seriously don't understand the "genrush" mentality.
Survivors are supposed to do gens to survive, killers don't need to facecamp/nod/hit on hook to get a kill (if you need to face camp to get a single kill, be my guest I guess?).
Doing gens shouldn't be seen as a personal attack to you, or as survivors being toxic, to a point you feel the need to BM.
first of all though it is not a "GEN RUSH" doing the gens as fast as you can is just rushing through the gens. Play killer and FEEL how FAST those gens pop at all ranks. it's just insane. with 4 people on a gen it takes about 30-35 seconds or so for a single gen to be done. with one it's 80 seconds. if three people are on separate gens that's 3 gens in approximately 80 seconds. that's 3/5ths of the survivor objectives and the killer might have gotten two hooks which is 1/6th of their objectives (looking to 12 hooks as the objective since 4 survivors get 3 hook states total). and when 4 people are surviving and 3 gens are done the killer has to get one person out at a minimum to kill the momentum built up. this is the problem survivors don't see what it does to the killer as they work their own way.
GEN RUSH is when everyone brings toolboxes and/or brand new parts and team up on gens. so yea it's possible but it's worse when you are not having an easy time and very frustrating. Now speaking of tunneling, it is crappy but it works. if you can get someone out of the game in the first couple of gens then you have put pressure on the remaining survivors. it's not always the best as good survivors will do gens while someone is running the killer so it's possible the tunnel will allow multiple gens to be done so though it is a source of pressure it does not always work. camping as well, because camping you could get people trying to rescue and go from there again camping is a problem for the killer as good survivors will do gens.

Why would I when its obvious I have a better placement right now? I am 100% correct in what I said and you are trying to 'disprove' it on technicalities. Also its peer to peer or how most normal IT people just say p2p... and most senior leads get paid 120-150k its quite normal...also for the amount of employees they have the turnaround isnt good by most standards. But meh, you are just a kid that thinks he knows too much, but keep thinking that you will go 'far'...
since you have no proof i am done speaking with you as you are the one that has to convince me not that I have to convince you. I even accepted it and suggested you try to show them and use that to get a position so this won't happen again.... but you don't want to and you want to complain keep doing so and maybe someday someone else will bend an ear that isn't a sycophant.

If there's no spaghetti code why does the game keep breaking in some way in every update?
because one section of code can easily cause a problem in another section that has NO association with the section of code that is the problem. Spaghetti code doesn't exist much anymore since we have left the area of programming where lines are numbered and people had to squeeze new things inbetween the numbered lines. and this would be an issue and adding all of these new things would end up looking like spaghetti when you flow charted it as well as tried to follow it in the code. it would originally look like this:
10 Start
20 Let F = 5
30 F= F + 1
40 Print F
50 End
now someone wants to add something that is dependant on F they only have 10 lines to add that in or they'd have to jump the code past 50 to do what it was supposed to do then back to 30 and then another 10 lines or even jump it again to do what they wanted before displaying F. this is how Spaghetti code came out and YES it caused problems in trouble shooting when it got bad like that. Now programming is not done with line numbers till the compiler applies the line numbers for its OWN reference and you program in BLOCKS of code for anything so it's not hard to add in a jump or subroutine and return easily. I personally and others have not had the game crash much at all! if it was "spaghetti code" you'd have this happening in more than isolated systems. someone recently was complaining about the game crashing and they showed the error and it was a Video processing error, not a game error. yet they blamed the devs for the crash. how can the devs be blamed for your computer having issues processing something and untill it is proven that it was the program the primary cause of video errors is WINDOWS screwing up.

You would have to understand basic coding and the unreal engine to understand why what he says is mostly correct. If you actually watched the video, he points to the devs stating in one of the devblogs that they were working on moving away from the blueprint system and working on replacing it with C++
It is also the reason why they come out with a patch that changes billy, and the hill gets bugged for example. In the blueprint system, seemingly unrelated things are tied together because of how it is designed, so if you change one thing you create a cascade effect that can ruin other things down the line.
You probably shouldn't get so defensive, especially considering that you didn't even watch the video nor did you give the material any considerable thought.
I didn't say i did not understand him, but his first opening paragraph he speaks he admits he is guessing at all of this and that's why I turned it off. I know programming in basic, cobol, fortrain, c, c+, c++, java and many other languages as I have programed in them. I even have programmed in machine code and assembly and used a command line environment to program routers and other devices. so I understood what he was going to try to say, but when he admitted it's guess work I turned it off because it is not proof to have someone guess at what is happening.

by the time you got back in perhaps it was over with.... just saying it takes time to restart a pc, get steam up, get dbd up and into a lobby to search. 5 minutes isn't too bad.

Same happens to me and I'm getting sick of it. I linked 4 videos showing how broke this game and new ban system is. I'm literally being punished for trying to play.
Not to mention my rank was reset from a 9 to a 16 and it just keeps regressing with every crash.
"Out of video memory" is not a game issue, it is a windows issue first, video card hardware issue second and client issue third that was nothing to do with the game itself it's your computer 9 times out of 10. stop blaming the wrong people or things for your issues.
-
the first words out of his mouth killed the video in being anything REALISTIC. he has no clue what they have done, what they are doing nor how it was done. he is 100% guessing. i'd love to see you top that, please show your source code that you have of DBD and tell us where or how you got it for proof. I am certain the devs would love to know more. you obviously don't know what the game is like, you ONLY expect it's like someone else you like. once he said he didn't know anything at all i turned it off because at that time it turned into a "I am going to make ######### up because I want people to agree with me and my argument since it's the same as others!" yea not reliable at all, now I did not say this person didn't know coding, I am only talking about his knowledge about dead by daylight. WEEE great proof for your theory.
Because of this *I DO* hope it wins this year so we can listen to everyone say it was rigged! lol

It's not different. Literally no game besides DBD has a problem matching Xbox One to Xbox Series X without crossplay. NONE.
i guess you know all about programming, hardware coding and everything else. but you won't give it up, so since you're wrong why don't you let it go? they've worked with what they got, the client is different thus it is a seperate platform. and the reason the client is different is BECUASE 1) they aren't the mega big studio that you think they are, 2) have coders that can easily transform one console set of codes to another and finally 3) have the extra hands to do that while working on the REST of the game. so you have to deal with crossplay there are worse things in life and if that still isn't enough speak with your wallet by not buying this again and requesting a refund if you are able to. as I said on the PC the client is litterally the SAME thing but there are enough coding differences that the microsoft store is a different platform than the steam store client. OH yea... microsoft store people didn't complain one bit. hell even the microsoft store has pre game and end game chat and they are still crossplay between them. stop whining and play or not.

You're missing the point. On every other game cross-generational play works without cross play. Meaning that PS4 and PS5 or Xbox One and Xbox series X players can play together without activating cross play. This is not a requirement of the platform companies but just something Bvhr decided to do for this game. I'm not sure if it's intentional or yet another problem with the next generation consoles, it is unusual though. on Fortnite for example, I can play with PS4 and PS5 players exclusively via cross-generation play. I don't have to activate crossplay. I believe this is what people are referring to.
and you know how this game works? it wasn't able to be cross play till recently, and this happened shortly before the new generation of consoles came out. Other games have had YEARS and YEARS of working on multiple platforms like that. you are comparing other companies and other programming styles (how the game is coded). now with a game that we are playing has to grow and it will. time will tell what will happen and how it will be worked on and if there will be a way to unify the coding and then no matter who you are there will be no crossplay indication. there are so many things that have to be done and right now it is as it is. arguing that behavior is at fault brings in the fact that you are just someone that doesn't want the game to grow and wants to yell at a wall. These people are working at the game and you cut them down for giving you what you wanted "CROSSPLAY" and suddenly the new consoles are out and now it's "CROSSPLAY but you HAVE to give us everyone on the same company!!!" when it wasn't their idea to make the consoles different but they did what they could to give people what they wanted, and YES a great number of people wanted crossplay. ah well enjoy yelling at a wall that will continue to evolve.

There's some confusion here. At least on PlayStation, dbd is the only game that requires you to have cross play turned on in order to access cross-generational play. I think this is what the person was referring to. it's a different console on the same platform, so for the purposes of cross play some people think it shouldn't be required to access cross-generational play.
the problem is if you have to have crossplay on the ps5 AND the xbox series X that means these are different platforms because they have different requirements. I had said I had not heard of any issues like this on the ps5 so i was not sure. so do not blame Behavior, blame sony and microsoft as they made requirements that make the game itself have to be different thus it requires the crossplay till more people adopt the new generation consoles. my point though is that the microsoft store on pc and the steam pc client are also considered crossplay, and if I have the microsoft store version on my pc AND the steam version I will be crossplay to other steam players when I play on the microsoft store. you just answered the big question i had and that answer confirmed that it was not behavior that made the NEW generation of consoles crossplay but the companies that made them.
then talk to the companies that made them if you think it shouldn't be cross play across generational consoles, they are the ones that made it require different coding... because of the different equipment and OS used.

Yes progress carries over.
But don't bother doing a hard drive transfer. Once you install the game it will need to update to the XS version anyway, which is a bigger file than the original game. You are better off just signing into your XBL account on Series X, then installing the game directly from the store as the XS version.
Also be warned, you can only play on Series X using crossplay because according to apparently BHVR and no one else, Series X is a new platform and not the same as Xbox One (despite literally NO other game requiring crossplay or even having it available). So be ready for that BS.
microsoft is the one that made it a new platform, they made the requirments for the games different thus there is a different client. hell the microsoft store on pc is a different platform than the Steam version is! it's not behavior that did this but microsoft as they are the ones that made the os differently and require different things. I don't know about the ps5 because i haven't heard from them and you said it directly you have to update from one xbox version to the new one, so why are you blaming behavior when they worked with what they had?

You did read wrong. The game is already using dedicated servers...the client on both sides communicates with the server and the server determines what is fair and produces that outcome...you have no idea what you are talking about but so desperately want to believe you do...because I am not an employee of the company and they are not paying me 120-150k to code their game.
perhaps you should see if they'll take you on since you can fix this without an issue... but meh you also are incorrect as the game uses dedicated servers where available. not EVERY area has them and when they are not available the game is still point to point. this IS from the devs directly. but keep thinking you know everything, i certainly do not but i know what i knew. sheesh. you think you so good that you can charge 120-150K to code a game? they have more coders than one person and you'd never be able to do a game like this on your own in the time they do it.

Are you serious? The topic was NEVER about fixing latency...there will ALWAYS be those with low latency and those with high latency. Whether that be natural or intentional. Its not a bandaid...its a solution to provide fair play so both sides experience similar outcomes. They implemented it wrong..."they tried this" lol, you think DBD devs implementation of server side hit validation was going to be good right off the bat? Correctly implemented it is the solution. And the other ways of restricting latency and imposing caps to server and region locking is also a thing but much more strict. What I am saying is you dont understand the concept out of what you were first introduced to...dont worry about it...just know when I say correctly implemented server side hit validation IS A FIX...as there are many games that have it and have done it correctly.
I guess i read the OP wrong when it talked about latency, which is what I talked about. till the game moves to a SEVER BASED backbone game you will not have the ability to do anything you all want as the client is still a point to point with a server connection just playing referee. and that's if you go through a server! they would have to re-write the source code and have more robust servers and NO ONE would be able to play without going through a server (this is still allowed if there are no servers in the client area). but this is a completely different animal because once you go there you can have it the way you and others talk about it but for now the server has to make a referee call as to whom takes precedent and that is not a good way to work with this. You seem soooooooo informed on how to do so why not do it and show them how to do it since you know so much more than them.

This is wrong. Its called server side hit validation...its been a thing for over 8 years. You can have a laggy player go up against players with less latency and the server will factor the hits and positioning based on multiple algorithms to keep it pretty much perfectly fair for both sides. SO no they would have to slow fast connections down...they can improve on it...its called investing money in something that they believe wont have as much return as BS MTXs and fancy visuals...in the long run ppl want FAIR gameplay
server side hit validation has nothing to do with fixing latency. that just puts a bandaid on the problem and they tried this and had to remove it because it was causing huntress to miss every hatchet even when it was a CLEAN hit. there are lots of ways to bandaid latency and none of it FIXES it what so ever. what I said is that there is no way to make a change to the latency which is what the OP was talking about at first and then moves on to other ideas but again you can not make a change to anyone's latency from slower to faster what so ever. I'd rather keep my fast speed in the game than get slowed down where i can't even determine when i need to hit the space bar to vault, skill check or swing/throw.

What is the project here BHVR ?
I mean, creating killers that you can't counter at all.
- The Hag
- Gunslinger
- PH
- Stridor Spirit
Every other killers are fine but those are impossible to counter, nothing is working. If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame.
The only counter is gen rush which is not really the way i like to play the game.
1) don't do everything the way others do it. if you have a favorite big named streamer that does things and you emulate them the killer might know what you're going to do.
2) know your suroundings and what you can do. I HAVE actually palleted the nurse before and they were red ranks! how? got damn lucky but i force a directional shift and it messed the killer up.
3) Know what the killers can do, play killer if you're a survivor and play survivor if you're a killer. why? you learn how things look from the other side. doesn't matter if you are bad or not.
4) every killer has counter plays but they are not the same in all cases. as has been stated many times.
5) have fun and enjoy don't be an ass either. no having fun? stop playing for the day.

Devs are seriously out of their mind for focusing on improving "fancy" visuals while ignoring all the bugs and technical frustrations.
No penalties for SWF, insane lags, bugs which never fixed.
It really shows where devs' motivations are at.
They don't care customers but only care how their game look, because they think if the game looks cool then it could attract more players.
Seriously devs, if you ignore improving user experience, what will come is only doom.
you do realize the OP did not talk about how to fix the latency? so if person A has the fastest connection, and person C has the slowest and the only way they can "FIX" it is to SLOW the faster connections down artificially to the slowest connection. why can't they speed someone up? because you can't make someone that takes 100 milliseconds and push data to them FASTER than their connection can take, how ever you can delay data going to someone no matter their connection speed. Also didn't talk about how latency changes every second, every minute and depends on many factors that even go beyond 5 players and into the dark area called the internet. can't predict lag spikes from one router detecting a power loss and transferring it's load to another etc. so what are they supposed to do? do you want to have your game slowed down? why not work on something they can truly improve upon.

How is Hope and Adrenaline second chance perks lol They reward u for doing the objective unlike NOED, and NM and SS? haha u are funny. And if the killers has at least a braincell won't fall for a flashlight save.
now if you are the one that did no gens, and you have adrenaline and are downed or injured, are you not rewarded for doing nothing but riding someone else's coat tails? same thing with hope.... no mither lets you get downed and then get back up and do this repeatedly. Soul Survivor rewards you for letting your team die. one dead, you get x meters where killer can't see you on detection perks, two dead that's y meters, and three dead is z meters (can't remember the numbers) and I EVEN explained that in the post you obviously don't remember saying that a SS user could intentionally let their team die just to get the benefit, so it is a second chance in that they can move without impunity stealthily. sure take SS off, survivors still have a good 4-6 times the second chance perks than killers. also flashlights can be gotten in many ways becuase not always will the survivor go down where you can predict a flashlight will be, nor a wall to prevent the flashlight when picking up. there are SWF's that specialize in setting that up intentionally. you might want to read first, then understand and finally THINK about what you've read before replying.

How do you know for a fact? I'm going to be up BHVR's ass with this game until I get some proof action is taken on these people.
1) I have watched a streamer I reported try to log in (they aren't one of the big ones just a tiny no name one) and they couldn't log into their account and this was becuase they used the N word in end game chat against me only because i dared to play noed.
2) I've gotten an email from the devs (probably should not have) saying action was taken on my report but did not tell me what happened.
3) they SAY they do it and I've seen this be true so i have no reason to doubt them.
4) most people that say it does nothing don't send the second support form in because it is too much trouble, they have to get in the next match that much faster and after they couldn't be arsed to do anything like try to make the game better because they wouldn't have things to complain about later.
5) if you want proof, you will never see exact proof because legally if they share information like that they can be sued and they will not do that. (#2 above did happen but i think was someone newish I don't know it was months ago).
6) if your enjoyment is reliant upon things happening right away you'll never be happy. you might want to find a new game if you're that bent over it.

Tunneling is a pretty annoying thing that should be discouraged in the base game, regardless of perks.
I don't think it should be actively punished, but I think the game should be designed such that spreading hook states is the best strategy, since games that go to 9-12 hooks are fun for both sides and should be encouraged/balanced around.
I can get behind perks that assist in helping survivors avoid getting tunneled, and BT isn't too far off base there, but DS is just beyond the pale.
if it is so fun why do survivors go for the gen rush? (they crank gens and grank gens forgetting about everything else) it's because they don't want to let it go 9-12 hooks. they want the quick 15K and out, meanwhile killer gets the quick 10-20K max on gen rush (20K is litterally lucky as hell here) and a depip then the 5-10 minute wait (in general) which is why many have taken to stop playing killer for the time and playing survivor making survivor wait times just as long! I wish they'd play lets have fun and enjoy a match but that would be farming to many survivors and they hate that and will disconnect and complain they have to be banned for 5 minutes on the first one! I do agree long fun matches are the best.

Literally everything you just said is wrong.
- "Do things that do not progress the game" like what, pray tell? Is it clicking a flashlight at the killer like an ineffecutal dipshit? I bet it's that.
- Half is more than none... but it's less than an instant escape, WHICH IS WHAT THEY CURRENTLY HAVE.
- No, you literally CAN'T be a "Weapon". You can do it on LIVE with DS SOLELY BECAUSE you can do anything you want for the 60 second duration of DS. On this system, you CAN'T do ANYTHING without losing this buff. This means the only way you can be a "Weapon" is if the killer has an IQ of fifteen and chooses to chase the survivor who is literally occupying themselves.
- The situation you describe is not possible. If one dipshit is trying to hold onto their fear, the killer just ignores them and chases somebody else. This means there are only two people left who can work on gens.
- You don't even have to wait 100 seconds. It's not DS, it's only effective if it triggers with a lot of remaining duration. If there's only 30 seconds left, the only way you escape is through Sabo, Bodyblocks, FlipFlop/Breakout, or extreme greed.
- Even if you did need to wait 100 seconds for the effect to fade on its own, you can force it to fade immediately by hooking somebody else.
Literally just don't tunnel and this effect will not matter.
That doesn't work with DS because it's so overpowered, but there's so little you can do without losing this buff that unless the killer actually goes for you twice in a row, you ain't getting ######### out of it.
It's anti-tunneling, it's only use is for anti-tunneling, and in the event that somebody finds a way to use it other than anti-tunneling, one more cancellation condition can easily be tacked on.
to answer your questions:
1) Yes that is one thing, annoying the killer like leaping across the same pallet 10 times in a row, hopping in and out of a locker multiple times, anything to get the killer to notice them instead of the others working on gens. so now you know there are multiple things you can do to annoy the killer trying to get the killer to down them and forget about this "mechanic" so they get that free easy escape and the sweet blood points.
2) You don't play killer much at all, in 9 seconds 3 survivors can down 3 hooks and cause someone that has that 1/2 wiggle bar to get free because there are no hooks around. (rounded 2.5 seconds up) even with one or two it can get that person off the shoulder just because. again you want that FREE easy escape.
3) Weaponizing the feature or perk is as simple as anything. distract the killer enough to forget it exists and have him pick you up and blamo you're out becuase instead of 50 seconds going by you had 10 total and blammo that's 90 seconds left when downed, and that's a free weaponized escape because you ran at the killer, blocking him and blocking his swings to other survivors. this is weaponizing in either case.
4) i guess you know every single killer's mind that they will always know what is going on and that the survivors won't place the one with this "FEAR" in a place of danger to monopolize on it. hell I had survivors that decided they didn't like my game play (randos) and they gave my position away to the killer intentionally. why can't survivors exploit this? oh you'd never do such a thing would you? this is me laughing because you're being intentionally dense.
5) oh we don't have to wait for 50 seconds??? oh yea you going to put a timer on the killer's hud so they know how many more seconds are left so they KNOW not to pick up? oh no you want them to pick up. again you are being intentionally dense!
6) oh yea so each survivor will come present themselves to be hooked just because the killer wants to? you are smoking something and need to stop because again there will be weaponization just like DS is weaponized now. (DS: oh yea i have ds, i'm going to jump in this locker because he's just about to swing but this'll cause him to open instead! wow such a big brain play!)
Yes you put in the big bullet points but conveniently left out the counters for the ways it could be weaponized and it WILL BE. I even said so. you still didn't address that.... oh have you ever tried watching for gen skill check/heal skill check misses when people are constantly vaulting a pallet or leaping a window when they aren't being chased??? no this is no solution it's even WORSE than a solution it's purely a way to make people see the small points but miss the big picture. Play killer much more and you'll learn. the rules do not preclude tunneling and there is NOTHING in the game that penalizes it. (DS is not an anti-tunneling perk as stated by the devs but people like you love saying it is one. however it is a second chance perk)

Smurf accounts. Also beginning nof every month, u need to start deranking. Otherwise ur at where suppose to be at.
Survival rate should only be around 20-25%.
Unfortunately most survivors are entitled to survive 100% of their games.
unfortunately i saw this up front i saw someone with 5K hours and another with them at 3K hours end up bullying a person that bought the stranger things chapter special ed of dbd playing demopuppy that bought it two days before. sure wasn't the best killer to start with but hey lets throw them to someone that has 1000 times as many hours as they do! oh that's perfect!
MMR if you can call it such did nothing but make new killers go against seasoned survivors of vice versa and the DEVS actually said as much. there were times it worked but that was probably a fluke. they removed it as it was an atrocious time as they recieved many negative hits on steam and I'm sure many people tried to get refunds through steam and even if they aren't refunded that does not look good to any game. also during this time it was using a plain text file to say what killer was in the lobby and though that id info got encrypted, the outfit names for the cosmetics, thus it could easily be seen what killer it was. finally about 1 week in to mmr it was fully encrypted so there was no way to see what killer was going against you and thus allow survivors to quickly remove or add perks or switch characters, and the killer was stuck from the moment they clicked search (honestly i understand why at the time but i don't know why it's still locked in with mmr out of the question).
honestly my own belief which can not be substantiated or proven in what happened is they said they were bringing MMR to the game, and didn't have it anywhere near so they just let the game fly with what ever and thus there was no actual match making at that time other than 4 survivors were paired up with 1 killer. AGAIN, THIS IS A THEORY THAT CAN NEVER BE PROVEN!!!! IT IS NOT WHAT IS SAID TO HAVE HAPPENED!! I do not accuse anything I just am speaking my mind here.
Honestly I don't think an MMR can be done right for this game in the manner they envisioned it and I can not think of anything to replace what they were saying. so many variables could never be taken into account: 1) SWF involvement, 2) COMMS outside the match, 3) disconnects on either side were never addressed properly, 4) killers that farm, 5) survivors that farm. there are more things but this is easily the 5 top reasons MMR would not be accurate.

You realize this is a nerf to survivors... right?
This mechanic is a version of DS that is moderately better at stopping Tunneling, but can only work against tunneling.
If you do anything to progress the game, you lose the buff.
If you hide in a locker, you lose the buff.
If there is a more recent hook/unhook, you lose the buff.
Hell, even if they have the buff, if it's been 59 seconds post-unhook, all they get is half their Wiggle Bar, rather than DS's instant escape.
The only cheese I can think of is when somebody pulls off a Kobe and there's nobody else left to reset the buff off of, but that's an easy fix; add another condition to remove the buff if you're the last survivor.
if you do nothing to progress the game you loose the buff in 100 seconds. in that time you can do things that do not progress the game hoping the killer will do something stupid. and thus this is now able to be weaponized just like DS is already.
1/2 the wiggle bar is more than none of it. your ideas are survivor sided with some of the ideas that people put out there to drop ds when a survivor works on it. this is actually something you WANT as a survivor. because now you can be a weapon and harass the killer and let your survivor friends do gens in peace... btw 3 people on a gen without proove thy self is approximately 44 seconds in length. 100-44 = 66 = 44= 22 so they could essentially do 2.5 gens together in that 100 seconds! how is that NOT a buff to a survivor? I was being quite sarcastic in my response till i started talking about what a survivor could do with your idea.

I find it completely... paying 30€ (plus dlc) and playing a game at the risk of being permanently banned... especially when you know the many problems, and the unfair attitude of the players in this game like cheating, toxic attitude, etc....
Yesterday I was banned for 5 hours, YES I left the game voluntarily, I don't like to be touched on the hook when I didn't do anything! The next penalty will make me quit the game and all devs games.
Dead by daylight 1 yes, Dead by daylight 2 without me.
@Jill10230 said:
And me too I would like to know when the penalty will go down to 5 minutes? Thank you
first of all 5 hours means you disconnected many times during the day, not just once. this was your choice KNOWING the penalty was in there (maybe you didn't know the first time but after that you KNEW it was there as you had to WAIT!). second: what do you mean you don't like being touched on the hook????? what exactly is that? did the killer hit you on hook right after hooking? if so they are shortening your screams (different type of scream too) and moving on. if they continued to hit you on hook, they either do not understand this does nothing to your hook time, or they have anger issues because you got them angry with your looping skills or luck (I am serious, some killers get upset when it takes them forever to get someone so they resort to this and it's idiotic IMHO).
Your other post, is apparently some point during each day a single instance of disconnection is removed, but there is only a few round about ideas on this as it is not specifically said when and what happens. first of all if you dc 6 times and have a 5 hour penalty, the next day when that resets it removes 1 time and thus you would be at 5 disconnect instances and your next disconnect would take you right back to 6 times and that 5 hour penalty. (numbers just used for reference, not exact times).
Honestly I have no sympathy for you as you chose to disconnect those times knowing the penalty exists. if you get that triggered I'd suggest you find something less triggering as in this game you're going against a person and they are unperdictable!

Honestly the report system in this game is useless just like the customer service dont waste your time with that and you said you dont have a lot of time dont waste it on this game its not worth it
you have to have evidence to back up some accusations, and that is video of the match in some way. you must also do the report in the final scoreboard AS WELL as a support ticket to give the additional information of the video to the devs. (or the site/email that was linked earlier) if you do NOT do this then you are the one causing your reports to be disregarded. I've submitted reports and I know for a fact some have been acted on. Stop blaming the dev's inability to make a call when you can't even make the effort to give them the information! that'd be like telling the cops you just got robbed and can't prove that your wallet is gone!

No, but you are.
Maybe they need EGC with 2 survivors with the level of whining that's going on.
This thread is a farce, the OP made a miserable game for 2 players and then wondered why the other 2 didn't just roll over and die.
OP got what he deserved.
honestly the fact you don't understand when EGC starts or could be started totally destroys all the information you tried to put out there and shows you're just a small time adult kid that loves to call people names and tell them they suck when you don't know what you're talking about. Please learn before you speak.
-
yes lets just make it so the surviors win, the killers can never get good points, nor can they even get good emblem status. lets put this in as well as this PRO killer base buff for ALL killers. only one generator may be worked at any one time (no more 3 minute games) and only one survivor can be on that gen. the other survivors must either hide or distract the killer from interrupting the one on the gen. when a survivor jumps off that gen, another can get on the gen that was just vacated but the other gens are blocked for 10 seconds, and the one left is automatically regressing.
There that'd be a nice pro killer base buff! and let you keep your 100 second insta-wiggle free base buff for survivor. You thought only of the survivors, not of the killers in that buff. yes you included the cancel it bit but still 3 minute matches are a thing so you didn't address that, you didn't address the survivor that throws themselves at the killer right off the hook. You didn't address the fact that this still gives the survivor (now) more than 1 gen, almost 1.75 gens of freedom to run around and harass the killer. this includes flash lighting the killer, palleting the killer leaping windows and pallets not broken to make lots of noises. I hope this shows you how your idea though you think it's balanced is NOT. 100 seconds is way too long, you can do a lot of things in 100 seconds... look what was said about pop! and how DS got overlooked and you just showed how DS was overlooked though so thank you for that.
Killers have to be almost 100% on target. here is a list of killer perks that are 2nd chance perks: blood warden, noed. survivor second chance perks: DS, Hope, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, For the People, Flashlights (yes it's an item, but it IS a second chance item for the saves, I will not include the pallet because of a pallet save but that is EXTREMELY situational!), no mither (yes it allows you to get up multiple times), Soul Guard (allows you to get up multiple times if affected by a hex), Soul Survivor (included because as you let your other survivors die, it blocks detection perks so though a good play for you but actually a bad play for the team), Left behind, (hatch location offerings as that tells you where your exit is BEFORE the match occurs)
I might have missed 2-3 killer 2nd chance perks, and I might have left some survivor 2nd chance perks as well... just can't think of them. so once we give killers the same ammount of 2nd chance perks then by all means lets address ideas to stop killers from doing something that is in their interest (tunneling one person out as they honestly can then pressure the other survivors into bad plays that they can't recover from and fewer people to work together on gens or split apart to do gens solo). tunneling is NOT against the rules so why is everyone so dead set against it? because you want the win, that's why. tunneling does not always get the same result as you might think and sometimes it DOES hamper the killer if not done with thought. Also have you ever gotten off a hook, started moving to a gen and suddenly the killer walks around the map from the opposite direction from the hook? who's being tunneled there? NO ONE! it just happened you walked right into the killer.

So recently I've had a lot of disconnections, and NONE OF THEM have been on purpose. I have had "No Network Connection" disconnects, bad lag disconnects, and something called "Session Expired" disconnects (these are all things that the game says after it disconnects me from the match, mind you I have never once had an internet outage.)
The point being is that I have of course incurred DC penalties because of these issues. It's gotten so bad that I was banned for 24 hours yesterday, so I decided to take a look at how to appeal the penalties. It says it's best to have video evidence and since I wasn't streaming during the time of these disconnects of course I don't have video evidence.
So, what can I do? I'm afraid to play the game anymore because I read that my next penalty would be two days then a week then permanent so I don't want to touch it until the penalty like... falls off. Does anybody know how long it takes to slide off? Should I just keep playing normally and cross my fingers for no more disconnects? IDK.
you can have a no network disconnect because of problems outside of behavior or you. so to go from you to behavior you could easily pass through 4 or more routers and any one of these routers can say "welp i ain't got a place to send ya" (no network) and blamo you're dropped from the game and your client reports the "no network error". everyone always blames behavior's game for this, and claims they have never had an outage at all. Thing is it's a misconception that when you are connected to the internet that you go RIGHT TO the destination in this manner: Your pc -> Your modem -> <INTERNET> -> Behavior's modem -> Behaviors server the <internet> in this actually looks like this -> ISP -> Router 1 -> Router 2 -> .... -> Route X -> Behavior's ISP -> and there can be so many routers, this is where you get the PING status, it is the ammount of time in milliseconds to go from your computer to the destination and then reports back! (I am not saying you do or do not know this, but it is a general idea that many people have when they make complaints of which your " mind you I have never once had an internet outage" statement. you would not know of any outage between you and the behavior server outside of your isp.
Next thing is because of the rampant disconnects in 2019 and 2020 behavior had to implement something and nothing automatic will be able to truly discern anything beyond someone clicking the "leave match button" without possible errors. so it's built to catch ALL disconnects and yes you get a penalty but there is a decay over time if you have 1 instance every day well you won't have much of an issue even then, but it doesn't mean 1 time now the next no matter how long after that is longer and longer etc. so be aware of that as well.
finally as someone mentioned above, you can submit a customer service ticket and ask them about your disconnects and maybe something can be done, but I won't say it's 100% going to be cleared or not, that's up to them.

I've literally had a day where every killer has been farming... 'Just do gens and go to the next game' If I did that I would have spent 8 hours farming and not having fun... Farming is NOT FUN, You can't just 'go to the next game' because what if the next one is a farm, when people say just do the gens, there are times where you are downed on the floor and survivors are just healing you so the killer can down you straight away... There's no choice in the matter, getting blocked in corners, being slugged and kept on the ground, your game freezing (which happens every other week) is all reasons why people dc.... How can you be locked in a game when there's no ski check alert popping up and when you leave you get banned from playing again... Everyone who says just farm does not play this game properly bcs every dbd youtuber I see play this game complains about crashing, so don't lie and say this game doesn't crash when it clearly does..... DC penaltys are absolutely terrible and the devs won't do anything to change it...
REPORTING DOES NOT DO ANYTHINGGG!!!
to report someone forcing you to farm you will HAVE to submit video evidence to prove your point. if you just click the button they can not act without further evidence. so you have to record the match or have it recorded you can then link that information there. but you have to do the SECOND report to do this. some things don't need the second report form what so ever.

it's called latency, and since it would be odd and not even fair to either one of you to put you back on your feet you stay down, but that is very rare because if that happens server should remove exhaustion immediately.

These are plenty of guides on youtube on how to play various killers and different strats to run but those in all honesty are just opinions.
You learn from experimenting, one game before the match spend some time and go break all the walls then chase the survivors and see if areas that were a problem before are no longer an issue and vise versa if some areas that you were getting hits easy are now a problem because of the breakable door then you know in the future you should not break that one.
If your having trouble try playing survivor to see it from the other pov. Try moon walking and mind games to "outplay" survivors.
Im not trying to bash you or tell you to learn faster, im just saying its a learning curve and the more you get ran over the faster you learn.
Unfortunately i wish it was easier for new players on both sides but the game is how it is, have to adapt and overcome.
Learn from your mistakes and you will for sure get better. If you want some tips feel free to pm me and we can link up in a custom and i can give you some tips if you'd like.
you still don't get it do you? I never was able to learn the infinites with all those resources on youtube, streamers who don't talk to new player.. and this was BEFORE the breakable walls. I would love for you to distribute this tutorial that you obviously know exists (which i haven't found in 2.25 years) to Each and every player so they all have the best chance to play the game. the number of players that come to this forum is probably 10% of the players that play the game over all platforms. You know well that i didn't ask about tutorials about how to play each killer but where each of these infinite loops are and how to counter them. oh yea i'll break a chase to take 2-5 seconds to break a pallet or wall. oh wait the walls don't always make it obvious they are there or that they are creating an infinite. the developers decide to break infinite loops and both player and killer alike actually say good job! and then they go back and close them back up recreating them making it "optional" how is that breaking an infinite? you are just like the other survivors that expect everything to be given to you. a killer that is released broken, this actually is the second time this has happened, last one took 1.5 months to the mid chapter patch to be fixed. how long will this one be? there was also the mid chapter patch a while back that was released with the wrong information and it to months for the fixes to go in. if you're a survivor you have 10-15 second chance perks, if you are a killer you have about 5. and of those 10-15 perks they synergize, of the killer's 5 only 2 will synergize and survivors complain they are tooooooo op. gen times are atrocious, infinite loops are back after they were to have been eradicated (not just optional) second chance perks being used as weapons, disconnects are supposed to be disallowed but people cry they are required. no this is very much survivor sided. if you try to say you are a killer main i don't believe you because you don't want to help other killers out you wish to farm people out to learn from others how to play their killers but you don't want to help them learn where the infinite loops are so they know what to break. sure "experiement" great i love experimenting when i get screwed over each time and loose while not even knowing if what i tried was right or not because by the time i'm done setting up 3 gens are done. great advice dude.

Its not an infinite if the killer has a way to shorten it. You not knowing this is on you and if you want to become a better killer than you need to explore these things and gain the knowledge of when you should break these and when you shouldnt.
If a survivor is looping you around what seems like an infinite loop but theres a breakable wall in the loop, then common sense should tell you "hey i might want to break this so i can catch the survivor"
The devs cant base the game off how brand new survivors play the game or it would be to easy at higher ranks.
Every game you play has a learning curve and the basics of dbd are pretty simple to understand. If your struggling more than you feel you should then try watching some streamers or youtube videos and experiment with what you see.
I remember when i was learning the flashlight, i died so many times just trying to understand the timing and angles. After you try and try you will get better. Just takes time.
are you going to write a guide that is given to all killer players? no your notion of "You not knowing this is on you" because there are other guides out there that litterally says "DO NOT BREAK THE BREAKABLE WALLS" you could MAKE an infinite for the survivors. so how is one to learn what is and isn't true? what walls to leave up and knock down? NO it is not on the player at this point. the devs said they were going to break the infinite loops, they did so and then they walled them right the ######### back up and blamo blood lust is needed once again. I litterally convinced someone about 1.5 years back to stay and continue to play (in end game chat) because he'd been looped soooo many times on infinites that he just was done with it. and to this day he's still in, doesn't play often but he plays and from time to time we chat and he's got a better attitude. but now there are a great many people that won't be able to even lend that helping hand to players like him because crossplay doesn't let chat happen 8 times out of 10 maybe 9 times out of 10.
so you may know these, but who's going to TEACH this to the new player? NO ONE... survivors aren't going to do so, they're just going to launch into the newbie killer "EZ! GGEZ! GGEZBB Killer!!!!!" and taunt the ######### out of them. It's not nice and you telling them they have to learn faster than they can before they get put out and quit. further reducing the available killers down the line! and streamers or youtubers are not going to always go out of their way to teach new players, unless something happens. I've been in several high level players chat and because I don't "FOLLOW" them I don't get to even type to them and I personally walk away, because right off that person doesn't want to talk to anyone that's not a simp for them within seconds, and if i can't talk to them I'm not going to follow them just to HOPE they go over what maps have infinite loops and what maps do not, how to recognize them and deal with them. You just don't give a ######### about anyone but yourself and that's why you say "You not knowing this is on you"
This is why you are wrong, and as you have no want to help it, why should your opinion even matter? you shift the burden onto the new player and you'll end up facing the same toxic crap killers (as those like you like to say) again and again since they are the only ones you can either beat or the only ones willing to stick it out.

they don't get chance to rescue if then let go and survivor could run right to the hook person as they let go which wasted time for the survivor go there for the save like I said pointless.
as for killer when killer dc it like escape for the survivors they keep all points and bonus for the killer dc but the killer gets a DC penalty and killer don't get easy way out like survivors do which what the DC penalty was mainly for.
and thus why you should give it the whole time and let the people work it and GET all the points you can. i'm just saying that if you dc you don't even give them a chance. and everyone says dcing is the best option but it isn't. it's the worst option.

but you do not deny anyone any points in that case. you don't just leave the match. atleast people have a chance to rescue you, atleast the killer gets the points for everything, AND you deny the killer more points. (they get a scoring event at the time and at the end of the game as well)

So when the killer slugs, tunnels, and camps... that isn't considered ruining someone's fun? It kinda feels like people are really saying
"I truly don't care about your experience, just don't ruin mine."
Someone DCing, in terms of game play, is no different then the useless Blendette in the corner, who won't engage in chases, saves, and takes 8 minutes to finish 1 gen.
It may be ruining someone's fun, but it is not against the rules as disconnecting is. if you think it is against the rules to slug, camp, tunnel please show us that without saying it's ruining someone's fun, show us by quoting the game rules (you can find them on the dbd forums so you don't have to go searching all over the internet for them). if you can show us were they are against the rules people will accept that. but you will have to give us the post of the rules and the quote where we can find that so that we can make sure you are not just writing your own rules up.
Last night I was up against a trapper that tunneled and proxy camped. i tried to get him to chase me, we all did.... but we got rescues done, AND we got gens done (down to the final 1.25 gens (almost completed that 4th when he chased me off it and finally hooked myself once, i knew the other living survivor was being chased but i gave my teammate the hatch by attempting to escape three times, and then not struggling. they got the hatch. I didn't DC because of a camping and tunneling trapper, I just played the game out. why is it soooooo important that you just get your own fun and loose all the points you've accumulated and get reported for disconnecting, get a 5 minute time out with your DC? doesn't make sense.

Are You an actual programmer? If I link you to a file containing the code or walk you through it would you have any idea what any of it means? I'm not going to make a multi hour tutorial about what each line of code means and show you every instance of faulty coding because not only would that take forever, but I'm not going to waste potentially hours of my time just to prove an argument to one random person on the internet.
(While I cannot say much on whats been found about DBD, in star trek online it was found that some extremely terrible shortcuts were made involving inventory space and how inventory items are coded in, causing insane pressure on the servers the more items the player base has and the more items existed in the game.)
I'm not going to continue this discussion with you after this post, but I'll be talking with the other people in this thread, should someone else respond to me.
I may discuss the bugs if you like, but I doubt such a discussion will go anyway(something tells me you'll attempt to dispute any bugs listed. If you really need a list, just check out the patch notes, every patch has a list of a few to several bug fixes, and thats not counting any new bugs that may pop up, after all every fixed bug was a new bug at some point)
I have programmed in basic, c, c++, c+, cobol, fortran, assembly, machine code and many others. you don't want to talk to me because you know you are incorrect. please link the code in here and where you got it because the dbd devs obviously would love to know where the code came from and how you got it. I've been programming long before the internet existed and I've worked with computers for as long as i've coded. you can keep responding to others, but they will see that you won't even step up to your challenge that you just gave me since you won't reply to me you can't link that code you challenged me to look at. and if you look at any update, there are bugs that are always being fixed, look at every patch for everquest, wow, and all other games that have updates, even dragon age, mass effect, and other single player games. they have bugs they fix ALL THE TIME! no program is going to be bug free! that's why it's laughable. but enjoy your ignorance and obvious bias against truths.

Games can have spaghetti code without crashing constantly. The symptoms of spaghetti code tend to be constant bugs popping up, which I'm somewhat new to the game but I have noticed in my short time many bugs appear.
I play another game that players know has spaghetti code, though the devs there were also well known for being incompetent(basically the entire original dev team had quit over time, and newer devs poorly handled a lot of the code leading to it getting better in some cases and worse than others.) The game being Star Trek Online. Of course, different genres, STO is an MMO, but despite its spaghetti code it doesn't crash too often, though it suffers from some inescapable lag caused by server strain from issues stemming from the poor methods and shortcuts used coding for it.
And while yes, your specific copy of Dead By Daylight functions just fine, this does not invalidate others experiences. "It didn't happen to me therefore you're wrong" is not a good argument.
what bugs do you see? and you say STO has it, when and where, do you have the code to prove it? thats the thing people use this term to say something is bad but no one even knows what it really means. and you say you've seen bugs, just what bugs are you talking about and where was it? ptb? I never said the fact that my game being good invalidates people's experiences, I just said it invalidates the spaghetti code argument.

I’m not talking about plopping down in the middle of an open space. Killers have eyes, ears and aura reading perks with which to find healing survivors.
so? you watch and you evaluate where you use the perk. but i guess you can't have a mind if you run the perk so i'm a mindless player that can avoid the killer and rescue people... so since you don't think i have a mind and eyes to watch for the killer and what they could do i can't argue any more as your argument is not even holding water. let people play their way... if you don't like it don't like it but keep your opinion to yourself.

Say your controversial opinions about game balance. No sugar coating. Ill start.
I use moris because they are fun. I know they aren't balanced, and I don't care.
I don't use keys because they aren't fun for me. Unless the killer is right there, and its a narrow hatch escape, keys aren't rewarding.
I play my way and don't care how anyone thinks what so ever. all negative comments are deleted after being reported on my profile.

You also have to consider killer seconds. 16 killer seconds vs 32 killer seconds. Which one is more likely to be interrupted by the killer and therefore have been a complete waste of time? Which one is more likely to be interrupted by more pressing concerns, like a teammate who needs unhooking?
The issues with SC aren’t just about raw time taken but also opportunity cost and risk.
what you have to also consider is you don't just plop down in the middle of an open space to self care! there are many things that can happen but you may think it's not a good perk but the people i've rescued after using it can attest to the fact that it helped! so if you're talking about someone just in the middle of no where with nothing to obscure them or even allow them to protect themselves from the killer while doing that, then it's a bad use of the perk.

I'm tired of console players ruining my games. When I play survivor many sandbag me by dropping pallets in my face as I'm being chased or hiding all game without doing gens.
It's not like they're low ranks either, this is purple and red ranks I'm seeing here. Sure, you'd get the bad PC player at these ranks now and then, but no where near the frequency I see bad console players. Controller is just plain inferior to mouse and keyboard in this type of game.
They even make survivor queue times longer since so few of them play killer (probably because most can't aim well with a controller).
IMO crossplay was a terrible idea.
EDIT got survivor and killer queue times mixed up. But yeah, going against console players as killer is an easy win.
there is a fix for you not liking crossplay.... from the main menu (where you see the killer and can choose the game mode) go to the settings and uncheck allow crossplay. there you will never be matched with an console players or any cross platform person which means the microsoft store, xbox one, xbox series x, ps4, ps5, steam. solves all your problems, you will only match against those on your platform. thus removes the reason you even posted this other than to get pity sympathy from others. This goes for all the rest trying to say it was a problem, just remove the option to play with others on different platforms what so ever. and before anyone yells at me becuase xbox series x can't play with xbox one, thats because micorsoft made it a different platform not behavior. so go to the place that made it different not the game that you play. you're choice leave it on and don't complain, turn it off and be happy it's the way you want it to be.

Throughout my playtime of dead by daylight I've been around for a lot of the good bad. Heck, I still remember when DS was a get out of jail free card.
I will be the first to admit, the devs have implemented good changes. Like the end game collapse, the ruin and DS reworks, graphical overhauls, and killer reworks.
Despite all of the good changes, the bad continually manages to shine through.
By now I'm pretty sure we're well aware of how bad BHVR's coding is. They manage to somehow break the game everytime they update it. They change one thing, and somehow some seemingly unrelated thing is now broken beyond belief. The fact that makes this even more annoying is they have refused to take a chapter off to fix their spaghetti code. Resulting in even more bugs every update.
For another thing console optimization was promised over two years ago. Now technically they delivered on this, but only on next gen. Despite the fact that they promised to hit 60fps across all playable consoles. I shouldn't have to drop about $600 dollars just to get optimization that was promised.
Plus I shouldn't even have to bring up how out of wack perk and map balance is. Making this even worse is how a few killers outshine the rest by a wide margin. Despite how long the other killers have been in the game, they have not been brought up to par for some time.
My final point for this tirade is the [BAD WORD] show that they called a Halloween event. First, they take away the event currency that allowed everyone to get free outfits. Despite having it in the game for the past 2 halloween events. Not only that, the event can barely even be called one. The only thing that made it slightly special was the drab looking hooks and generators. By the time the onslaught of negative feedback came through, the only thing they offered us was some iridescent shards, only enough for one event outfit. If no one had complained, we would have never seen any login rewards or even a bloodhunt.
Overall the devs have set a pretty horrible standard for themselves. I used to hope they could get past everything to make a great game. But they have continually shown that they aren't capable.
By the way this isn't some "I'm quitting" post. I'm still going to play the game, mostly because it's the only surviving game of it's niche. I just wish the devs could get over themselves.
I would LOVE to know where you got the source code for dbd that you used to know how their coding is done? please tell me. please tell the devs so they can go to the pirate forum and shut them down for breaking copyright law. and that will include you for intentionally seeking out and getting the code that someone else wrote for what ever reason. the last several patches did not break anything on my end so how can that be? do I have a cleaner version than you? or perhaps maybe something on your pc is causing an issue. oh you're on a console, which can have a multitude of other issues that can cause this. your argument is tired.... your argument is not even sensable because the idea of "spaghetti" code would have the game crashing on more than a few systems over all.
BTW DS is still a get out of jail free card.. why? because it is 1 minute of invincibility so you can do anything you want against that killer.... yea! so enjoy

Title, me and my friend have been playing duos for a while and he keeps running self care, I keep telling him it's the slowest healing perk in the game and wastes time but he always replies with "muh infinite heals". He does not get any value from it as he is pretty good at chase and avoids the killer incredibly often (unless self-caring, because he's stuck in position for 30 seconds). What should I say to him?
I can not convince your friend of this and you should not either. STOP telling others that it is a crap perk. I've found many times it was needed and I saved many people and escaped because I was able to take a hit and get them off! if you want to run around grunting and groaning and crying to alert the killer you are near that is your choice, if your choice is to always be by their side to heal them then you're making it worse by taking two players off the field because you have to stick near him so you can heal them. this is the same as convince x that sprint burst is a crappy perk. I don't like it myself because i can't easily control when I use it BUT I understand people love it, so I don't convince them I just accept their way of playing. you are trying to get others to impose your "WILL" on your friend and that honestly makes you a crappy friend.

Exactly, thank you.
The only people who are forcing to stay is the devs themselves because from what someone said, they added that you can't dc in the "terms of conditions agreement". Like... thats kind of a yikes to me.
it was not added, the terms of use agreement has always included the rules of the game, and the rules have always included the words that make it against them to dc. but if you are really not sure please go to them and ask! if you don't like the game sure DC and take the penalty assigned, but don't cry when something like an isp drop or interent outage gives you another one etc. but if you're just going to dc becuase the going gets bad then go play a single player game where you can make saves.... where YOU can reload because it got hard.

You're the very person they're talking about when they say that people say "your fun is not my responsibility."
Okay, my fun is not your responsibility. Got it, killers.
But why does yours have to be mine? If my leaving ruins your game, too bad, right?
This is the real selfishness right here. Hypocrisy at its finest.
this is his original comment:
this is the original comment and you could find it by going back in the thread. I understand why you didn't. but this one is the first time thta is mentioned. the point i have made no matter who is talking about it, disconnecting is against the rules of the game period, and even if the rules were broken by camping, tunneling or slugging two wrongs does not make a right. so anyone who wants to dc because of anything deserves any penalty and since the other behaviors that are mentioned are not arguing against the rules is pointless unless with a non you did X I should dc argument just does not hold water. it's selfish period end of statement.

See this right here proved my point with six word you literally just proved it. You just repeated my statement.
I did not repeat it except to prove the point. I used your words and the rules as stated against you. I then made a scarcastic comment with your words. your point is disproven and if you can not take having it disproved i'd suggest you get off the forums because you've been saying lots that is incorrect and can be proven so.

those are sports? Im tryna ask what is your point im saying that your invalidating the fact that its valid to dc if your being tunneled are facecamped especially if you are in a solo queue. So that my point in this. sports has nothing to do with it. Your fun is not my responsibility many killers say that well I am am also saying that many teammates sit around the hook to for no reason instead of working on gens so after all it is to the killers benefit. With that goes the fact that as a solo player you get no benefit at all and your barely getting any blood points also if you get tunneled early in the game you'll depip so dcing can prevent that also. Why should I suffer because someone wants to tunnel? Face Camping while I depip definitely not.
it is not valid to dc because a killer is tunneling because the stated rules you agree to before you even play dbd state that it is against the rules to disconnect or leave the match before a natural outcome (sac/escape) occurs. this has been proven you get to go find it on these very forums where the rules state this is against the rules thus it is not valid to disconnect with the exception of something out of your control (game breaking bug). enjoy learning what else you are doing wrong.
you say "Your fun is not my responsibility" well your fun is not the killer's responsibility, thus if they tunnel you and the rules don't disallow it then your dc which is expressly disallowed is not valid. if they camp you, your fun is not their responsibility, and your dc is still not valid yet their camping you is valid as the rules do not disallow it. you have now lost your argument with those 6 words. you just took your last hook. enjoy it because your fun is not my responsibility.

Wait who are you to determine the conditions and whose opinion and feelings are valid or not. If it is causing someone extreme distress they should leave should they not? I shouldn't have to stay and get a headache because an entitled person decides what I should do. If its causing emotional tension I should be able to leave no problem. There should be an optional thing besides dcing to leave the game but if not then dcing is it.
i even said he latter instance is iffy because anyone can CLAIM x or y but not be truthful. I just said those are the reasons that are acceptable for a dc. I did not say anything more, if you can prove your phobia causes intense distress to the point of your life is in danger then that is one thing i would accept, but just because you are upset you are being slugged, camped, tunneled, this is not acceptable as the rules have not been broken. fine, if you want disconnects to be allowed then the killer is awarded all remaining hook points, all remaining chase points and every point you could have given them in the game. oh wait then the killer would make iri emblems and it'd be unfair!!! so what will you do to make up for the fact you broke the game rules? what is the penalty for cheating in soccer, wrestling, basketball or any other game out there? oh yea hefty fines and potential removal from the game or even for good. so i hope you see that a 5 minute penalty is soft in comparison even when what you did will cause people to derank intentionally.

I shouldn't be punished for dcing anyway the creators actively encourage tunneling and facecamping as a strategy. Then the people who facecamp are the same ones getting mad at ppl for running ds but if you play nicely your still camped and tunneled honestly killer are toxic asf. The same ones say your fun is not my responsibility and play like a #########. All ima say is that Dcing is valid if someone is tunneling u can dcing or facecamping u can dc bc in the end u barely get bloodpoints anyway. You might as well play killer and get bloodpoints for doing nothing.
you broke the game rules did you not? if you break a rule in a game are you not punished by the rules? please show me a pvp game that does not have rules about disconnects? there are none they all have rules about it and varying punishments for it. and dbd is mild in comparison. the only reason a dc should be allowed is if it is a game breaking bug, or to a lesser extent something causing extreme stress on the player like an intense clown phobia. but even that latter one is iffy becuase they know a clown is part of the game.
